Olivia Culpo fulfils dream by posing for Sports Illustrated

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Culpo has fulfilled a long-held ambition of posing for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.
The 25-year-old beauty has taken to her Instagram account to reveal her pride at posing as one of the iconic magazine’s rookie models, and to post an image from the photoshoot.
Alongside the flattering picture of her in a black bathing costume, Olivia wrote: “Today has been an absolute dream come true!!! I can’t believe I am a 2018 sports illustrated rookie! This has been a goal of mine for my entire career and it is something that I have worked towards for years. I can’t wait for you all to see the final product from this shoot – It is unlike any other project. Today truly reminded me that hard work and perseverance can pay off in such a huge way. (sic)”
Olivia’s Instagram post comes shortly she revealed she considers herself to be an “overdresser”.
The brunette beauty admitted she much prefers to go over the top with her outfits than to be “underdressed”, because she “feels strange” if she is at a bash and looks “too casual”.
Olivia – who previously dated singer Nick Jonas for two years – said: “I personally tend to be an overdresser rather than an underdresser in general. But that’s mainly because I love clothes and I love putting together an interesting look.
“At a party, it can also feel strange when you’re too casual. If you’re really stuck, ask the host what they’re wearing and follow that lead.”

Ruby Rose quits smoking

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Rose has quit smoking.
The 31-year-old model recently underwent surgery on a long-standing spinal issue that’s seen her temporarily consigned to a wheelchair, but on a brighter note, Ruby says she has also managed to kick her “dirty” habit.
She wrote in a series of tweets: “So..For the past few years (decade) I’ve been dealing with a spine issue. I am now recovering from a back procedure, but I do need to stay active, so before I get seen with my cane and wheel chair in public, I’d rather put it out there that I’m fine and going to be fine. (sic)”
Ruby then asked her good friend and fellow model Chrissy Teigen – who is currently pregnant with her second child – whether she had any advice about how she could pass the time.
And in a second tweet, Ruby revealed she had managed to quit smoking.
She wrote on the micro-blogging website: “What I need to know now is when I’m not wheeling around LA like a 102 year old, what movies, shows, books and video games do you suggest… I’m buying a switch.. I’m looking at you @chrissyteigen what games should I get?

Alexis Ren loves sitting in silence

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexis Ren loves being able to sit in silence with someone.
The 21-year-old model has taken to her Instagram account to reveal the things she looks for in a companion, admitting she loves meeting people who have a similar sense of humour and can “exchange an inside joke”.
Alexis shared: “I love when you become so close with someone that you can see parts of each other in one another and you begin to say the same things and steal lines from one another and have a similar sense of humor and can exchange an inside joke with just a glance you don’t even have to talk because you have such a strong connection with them and you can sit in comfortable silence but also talk for hours it’s really hard to find that kind of compatibility (sic)”
Despite this, Alexis recently admitted that she struggled to make friends as a child.
The American beauty revealed she found it tough to form friendships during her childhood because she was homeschooled – and, as a result, Alexis is amazed she now has so many followers on social media.
Alexis – who is followed by 11.7 million Instagram users and is one of the world’s best-known models – previously wrote on the photo-sharing website: “i was homeschooled my entire life so I didn’t have many friends and grew up shy and introverted. who would’ve known 11 million people would end up following my life (sic)”

Kourtney Kardashian to launch make-up line

OHMYGOSSIP — Kourtney Kardashian is set to launch a make-up line.
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star’s sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner already have their own cosmetics brands, but it looks like there may be some competition between the family members as the 38-year-old beauty is planning to drop her own range under the name ‘Kourt’ to rival her siblings.
According to TMZ, the brunette babe – who has three children; Mason, eight, Penelope, five, and Reign, three, with her ex-partner Scott Disick – filed legal documents to own the business name ‘Kourt’ but, in order to keep things under wraps for the time being, she filed the application under her company ‘2Die4Kourt’.
And, although it’s not known for sure whether Kourtney will bring out her own cosmetics range, she has been uploading more beauty-related content on her app, including her favourite natural products and her every day make-up routine.
But the reality TV star should have no trouble getting her brand off the ground as her younger half-sister Kylie, 20 – the daughter of Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner – launched her range in 2015 and has reportedly earned $420 million in retail sales in 18 months.
The range – called Kylie Cosmetics – keeps expanding year on year but is known for liquid lipsticks, lip liners, eye-shadow palettes, concealers and foundation.
Kim, 37, on the other hand, launched her KKW beauty range in 2016 and just two months ago dropped a line of shimmering highlighters and lip glosses.
Her perfume collection KKW Fragrance- called Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Citrus and Crystal Gardenia Oud – sold out in just six days.

Felicity Jones loves make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Felicity Jones is “obsessed” with make-up.
The 34-year-old actress has admitted she’s been fascinated with beauty products since she was a teenager, and admits she loves the “artistry” involved in make-up, especially in her field as an actress.
She said: “I’ve been obsessed with [make-up] since I was a teenager and obviously through my work, where so much of a character is about the way that they apply makeup or don’t apply it, it’s such a good tool for being an actor. It’s always been great fun and I love the process of sitting down and – it’s quite meditative – applying makeup. I love the artistry of it and how it can change the way you feel.”
The ‘Theory of Everything’ star isn’t all about make-up though, as she insists her “personal philosophy” when it comes to beauty is “paying attention to oneself”.
She added: “My personal philosophy to beauty is paying attention to oneself. I love to be outdoors, lots of fresh air, trying to take care of yourself as best you can. I always notice that comes through. I love to do yoga and Pilates and swimming and walking and running and I do prefer being active rather than sitting in front of my computer.”
In 2018, Felicity will be the global face of Shiseido-owned Clé de Peau, and has praised the cosmetics and skin-care line as “fantastic”.
Speaking to WWD.com, she said: “I knew their concealer very well because it’s in every makeup artist’s kit and it’s fantastic. So I knew the products, but in working with the brand I got to know them very well and how they work, and I’ve been impressed by their precision, their attention to detail and their love of quality. They do everything incredibly carefully.”

Kim Jones to leave Louis Vuitton

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Jones has announced he is leaving Louis Vuitton.
The designer will step down from his position as men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton after presenting his final autumn/winter 2018 collection for the house on Thursday (18.01.18), and chairman Michael Burke has praised his “ability to set trends”.
Michael said in a statement:”It has been a huge privilege to work with Kim. His ability to set trends is impeccable and his talent and determination have ensured that Louis Vuitton is firmly placed as the leading brand in luxury menswear today. All of us who have been fortunate to work with Kim wish him continued success in his next venture.”
Kim has been in charge of the menswear department of the LVMH fashion brand for seven years after taking on the role in 2011, and was responsible for increasing the brand’s visibility through high-profile collaborations with British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman, and contemporary credibility through a tie-up with streetwear brand Supreme.
At the time of writing, Louis Vuitton has not yet named a successor for Kim’s position, however according to Vogue, rumours are already circulating that suggest the British designer could be in the running to replace Christopher Bailey at Burberry when he leaves the fashion house in March.
However, that isn’t the only high-profile job Kim has been linked to, as it was reported last year that he was in discussions to succeed Donatella Versace as creative director of Versace.
The 44-year-old designer has been the recipient of two Menswear Designer Of The Year awards at the British Fashion Council award ceremony in 2006 and 2009, and has received three nominations for Man of the Year at the GQ Awards, though he has never taken home a trophy.

The 27-year-old actor and model will be the latest hunk to become the face of the fashion house’s Only The Brave fragrance, in a brand new campaign which is expected to be revealed “shortly”.
Not much is known about what Alex’s campaign will involve, however a statement put out by Guillaume de Lesquen – who is the international general manager of designer brands fragrances at L’Oreal, which owns Diesel’s perfume license – claimed: “Pettyfer will lead and unite a global squadron of young and influential braves.”
The statement also praises the ‘Magic Mike’ actor as “charismatic leader”, as he fits the “hero” that Only The Brave features in their campaigns.
It read: “The Only the Brave hero is a charismatic leader who confidently moves forward in life with strong determination and will. He is a federator. Alex Pettyfer is the perfect embodiment of this new expression of bravery. Tomorrow belongs to the braves.”
Alex shared the news with his followers on Instagram with a professional black and white photo of himself, which was uploaded to the site on Wednesday (17.01.18).

The ‘Endless Love’ actor is succeeding fellow Hollywood hunk Liam Hemsworth in the role, who was first featured in a campaign by the brand in August 2015.
At the time, a statement released about Liam’s campaign read: “Diesel’s new Only The Brave campaign is part of the ongoing saga that started when this iconic fragrance was launched. With Liam Hemsworth, this new chapter is taken into a new dimension. Using epic movie-style narration, the campaign invites viewers to dive into their innermost depths and find the strength to ‘live bravely’.”

Alexander Wang leaves New York Fashion Week

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexander Wang is set to break away from the conventional fashion week calendar.
The 34-year-old designer has announced that after the Fall 2018 showcase this February, he will no longer be showing his designs at New York Fashion Week, in favour of holding presentations in June and December instead.
The changes are expected to “better serve” the designer’s customers, as the new dates align more closely with the pre-collection schedule.
In a press release, Alexander Wang CEO Lisa Gersh said: “Our consumer will be better served through the new system. The innovative approach reframes product on the month that it ships, rather than the outdated labels of ‘Resort’ or ‘Pre-Fall,’ giving our customers more relevant and consistent merchandise throughout the year.”
Alexander will make the changes this year, meaning that whilst his designs will still be presented in February, he will not be showing off his Spring/Summer 2019 collection during September’s fashion week.
According to Vogue, the change in schedule has already been accepted by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), which is exploring the idea establishing a more concrete fashion show around both June and December, as well as keeping the existing February and September shows.
CFDA President Steven Kolb told WWD.com: “I could see it happening this summer. I could see a collective of maybe five or so brands that have the right adjacency and might align to it … Alex is one of many designers the CFDA has spoken to about the idea, and we support him in this business decision. There are others who are part of this idea.”

Mark Ruffalo praises Valentino

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ruffalo has praised Italian fashion house Valentino as “really cool”.
The ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ actor was amongst the high profile guests at the fashion house’s men’s show on Wednesday (17.01.18), and has praised the items in the collection, although he admitted his own style is often more subdued than the bold pieces in the showcase.
He said: “I loved the spikes, the embroidered stuff was really cool.”
The 50-year-old actor was joined at the show by fellow actor Glen Powell, who admitted his “masculine” style was well suited to Valentino’s collection, as he enjoys being able to wear trousers which aren’t too tight fitting.
Speaking to WWD.com after the show, Glen said: “I grew up on a ranch wearing Wranglers, like J.R. Ewing, only I’ve never killed any people in my family.
“My style comes from a very masculine point and Valentino has a very masculine fit. It’s built for corn-fed guys like me. My mom has this phrase, ‘You’re wearing pants so tight, you can’t tell what religion you are,’ and Valentino doesn’t do that to me.”
The collection – which was designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli – explores themes of masculinity, and the show notes described the pieces as a “rebellion”.
They read: “Authentic rebellion has a grace. It does not scream, it is a state of mind.”
And speaking backstage at the show, designer Pierpaolo claimed the collection was designed to give men the “freedom” to be whoever they want to be.
He said: “It’s about the personal gesture. It’s about the freedom for men to be exactly who you are. I think this is a moment when men are thinking about themselves. After centuries of rules, men maybe in these [last] three decades are trying to express themselves.”

Rothwell is a Run Junkie

OHMYGOSSIP — Rothwell had “brilliant fun” trying the Run Junkie pop-up in London on Tuesday (16.01.18).
The singer was joined by the likes of Rider, Giulia and a host of influencers to sample the new fitness craze at Lululemon Marylebone and she enjoyed the work-out session so much, she’s planning to head back for at least one more session before her gig supporting Louise at Scala next Wednesday (24.01.18).
She said: “I love trying new work-outs and this was brilliant fun, I feel like I got in some good exercise but it wasn’t too tough. Hopefully I can make another class or two before my gig next week – I can definitely call myself a Run Junkie now.”
The pop-up will be at Lululemon Marylebone until January 28 and proceeds from the event are being donated to Bloodwise, a charity that funds research projects and clinical drugs trials across the UK, to find better, more effective treatments for patients with blood cancer.
An ambassador for the organisation, Luke – a helicopter pilot and blood cancer survivor – also attended the session and enjoyed getting stuck into the class.
He said: “One of the things that really helped me throughout my recovery was running. During my time in hospital I needed a goal, my father signed up for the London Marathon and I decided I needed to do one as well. It turned out, unsurprisingly; it was going to take me longer than I wanted it too. I signed up and luckily received a place with Bloodwise for the 2017 London Marathon. The marathon gave me the chance to show that life is not all lost after being diagnosed, treated and coming out the other side of blood cancer… Since being in remission I’ve cycled across Europe from London to Italy, completed four triathlons of varying distances and run a marathon… So you can say I like exercise!”
Run Junkie takes the simplicity and effectiveness of running outside and brings it inside to create a fun, invigorating, inspiring – and effective – workout and uses as innovative, non-motorised running machine powered by the user, while wearable technology gives real-time feedback to the Run Junkie trainers, along with progress tracking via an app. And the trainers will send your performance data after each class direct to you – no flashing up on leader boards or any of that scary stuff.
For more information on Run Junkie visit www.run-junkie.com.

Toni Garrn feels social media responsibility

OHMYGOSSIP — Toni Garrn thinks her social media following means she has a “responsibility” to do good in the world.
The German model – who has over 1 million followers on Instagram – uses her position to help empower disadvantaged girls through her Toni Garrn Foundation and she thinks its important to take advantage of her popularity to raise awareness of causes that matter to her.
She told Elle Australia: “I think everyone who has a following, no matter what it is, if it’s a bigger following, I do feel like people have a bigger responsibility to try and do some good in the world. There are so many issues, there’s so much poverty, and so much money that needs to be spent in the right corners of the world…
“If you have a huge following, you should be sharing a little bit about reality. And reality is not just about lip gloss for me.”
Toni’s popular Super Model Flea Market was originally conceived when she realised, thanks to Instagram, that she and her fashion friends could raise money for charity by selling the clothes they’d got through their work.
She said: “I think Instagram made me more aware that there’s actually people that care about what we do, and that we have fans. So that kind of showed me that maybe the people that follow me every day, and are commenting on my pictures, would want to wear the dress I’ve worn. So that’s kind of how it all came together.”
The sale is now in its fourth year, and last November, the 25-year-old model stepped up the event, partnering with Vestiaire Collective on an online shop and pop-ups in London, Berlin and Paris, to huge success.
She said: “Before that I did two years in New York just by myself, with the help of my agents and friends and asking favours from everyone. This time it was great – we always raised twice as much as usual.”

Kaia Gerber collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaia Gerber is creating a fashion line with Karl Lagerfeld.
The 16-year-old model – who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber – has already worked with the design legend by walking in two Chanel shows, and will now take their professional relationship further by creating a ready-to-wear line and accessories, which will arrive in stores in September, WWD revealed.
Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, said they are excited by the venture.
Pier said in a statement: “When Karl first told us his idea to collaborate with Kaia, we were all excited by the incredible potential and power of bringing their two worlds together.
“We have been working intensely over the last months with Kaia in LA and at our studio in Paris. It was exciting to see her clear vision, passion and engagement, and the collection will definitely inspire many young women.”
The collection will team Karl’s Parisian chic with Kaia’s West Coast style, with the eveningwear having a European influence and daywear inspired by the Californian look.
The new range, which will also include jewellery, sunglasses and shoes, will launch through a number of events in Los Angeles, New York and Paris in the autumn.
Kaia recently admitted her famous mother has given her a lot of helpful advice since she embarked on her own catwalk career.
She said: “She gives me advice for life more than modeling, like ‘Be on time,’ which is really important in the industry we’re both in.
“And to be kind to everyone. Everyone that I’ve worked with says she’s the most professional person that they work with, so I could only hope that they say the something about me.”

Katy Perry feels prettier

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry feels “prettier” with short hair.
The ‘Dark Horse’ himaker has frequently changed her locks over the years but she loves her bold pixie crop and thinks it’s help her to “know” her features better.
She said: “Cutting my hair meant I didn’t have to hide behind it.
“My face really stands out [now], and I actually feel a lot prettier with my short hair. I’ve really gotten to know my face better.”
The 33-year-old singer laughed off speculation she’s had cosmetic surgery, but insisted she doesn’t care that people think she’s gone under the knife.
She told Refinery 29: “I haven’t had any [cosmetic surgery]. I’ve done lasers and got [filler] injections under my eyes for the hollowing — which I’d recommend for everyone who wants a solution for their dark circles — but all of my assets are real.
“People tend to think they are fake, but it doesn’t really matter.”
And the ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ hitmaker thinks people should have cosmetic surgery if it would make them feel better about themselves – though she also suggested they also have therapy to combat the feelings of negativity.
She added: “We’re getting away from that negative stigma about physical alterations. Of course, always be your authentic self — but if someone wants a nose job that makes them feel better, and they love their profile more because of it, it’s like ‘Go ahead!’ Do whatever makes you feel better about yourself. Stay in therapy, but get it, girl.”
Katy has changed her beauty look to embrace gloss because she’s realised it makes her lips look bigger.
She said: “I was such a matte lip person — I would only use a pencil.
“But this year I started to use a lot more gloss because I realised it makes your lips look bigger without having to do any injections.”

Iskra Lawrence says desire to be perfect made her unhappy

OHMYGOSSIP — Iskra Lawrence admits her desire to be perfect made her feel miserable.
The 27-year-old model – who is renowned for her curvaceous figure – has taken to her Instagram account to post side-by-side pictures of her when she was younger and now, and Iskra insists she’s become much happier since she’s accepted her natural body shape.
She wrote on the photo-sharing website: “I used to seek approval from the fashion industry and tried to be “perfect”. I thought if I looked like “her” (an unrealistic beauty ideal), I’d be happy, successful and loved.
“All I found was failure (because you can’t change who you are) emptiness (because my time and energy was being used up trying to achieve something completely self absorbed and shallow sacrificing doing things I loved) and unhappiness (because no restrictive diet or abusive exercise feels good) (sic)”
Iskra decided to share her own experience to offer encouragement to women who are recovering from eating disorders.
She continued: “I share my experiences with you all because if you are feeling like I did there is another way and those recovering from EDs you’re not alone.
“The best thing I ever did was focus on looking after myself and being the best me I could be.
“Seeing value in who I was. The impact I could have in the world and people around me. Trying to give, instead of focusing on myself, my image and needing approval from others.
“And accepting that I am meant to be here just like you, and we were all created to be imperfectly perfect. I started Investing time into self-care, doing things that made me happy.
“Listening to my body and mind and nourishing them both, without guilt. (sic)”

Ashley Graham: A good bra is the ‘foundation for your look’

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham thinks a well-fitting bra is the “foundation for your look”.
The 30-year-old beauty has just released her latest lingerie collection for Addition Elle, and Ashley has claimed that wearing a good bra is key to looking and feeling good.
The American star – who has been collaborating with the brand since 2013 – said: “I always say that your bra is the foundation for your look, and a well-fitting bra that makes you feel good and look good is essential.”
The recently-launched line comes in sizes ranging from 36DD to 42G/H, and Ashley has previously admitted that starring in the advertising campaign makes her feel as though her career has come “full circle”.
Ashley started her time in the business as a teenage lingerie model and she now finds herself in the same position in her adult life, having overcome a series of professional challenges en route.
Ashley said: “My career has come full circle. My first job was modelling lingerie when I was 13. My mom had to sign a waiver to airbrush out my nipples!”
Among the challenges she’s faced during her career is being described as a ‘plus size’ model, which is a label Ashley considers to be “divisive”.
The brunette beauty hates the expression because she feels it is putting all women of that size and shape into one category.
She previously said: “I think the word ‘plus-size’ is so divisive to women.
“I think that when you use the word ‘plus-size’ you’re putting all these women into a category, ‘You don’t eat well.’ ‘You don’t work out’. ‘You could care less about your body.’ ‘You’re insecure.’ ‘You have no confidence.'”

G-Eazy says he ‘wasn’t cool’ with H+M’s ad campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — G-Eazy “wasn’t cool” with H&M’s controversial ad campaign that led to him ending his partnership with the brand.
The 28-year-old rap star recently announced he was terminating his agreement with the retailer, after H&M produced a commercial that featured a young black boy wearing a jumper emblazoned with the words, “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle”.
G-Eazy – who was in the midst of starting his new clothing line with H&M at the time – explained to ‘The Breakfast Club’: “I was excited about H&M to put clothes all around the world and do something that I liked and was cool with, and then I saw that happened, and it was like I’m not cool with it.”
This comes shortly after G-Eazy revealed he ended his partnership with H&M because he doesn’t want his name to be associated with the company.
He wrote on Instagram: “Over the past months I was genuinely excited about launching my upcoming line and collaboration with @HM … Unfortunately, after seeing the disturbing image yesterday, my excitement over our global campaign quickly evaporated, and I’ve decided at this time our partnership needs to end.
“Whether an oblivious oversight or not, it’s truly sad and disturbing that in 2018, something so racially and culturally insensitive could pass by the eyes of so many (stylist, photographer, creative and marketing teams) and be deemed acceptable. I can’t allow for my name and brand to be associated with a company that could let this happen. I hope that this situation will serve as the wake up call that H&M and other companies need to get on track and become racially and culturally aware, as well as more diverse at every level. (sic)”
