Models have been given their own cubicle for the first time ever at this year’s New York Fashion Week

OHMYGOSSIP — Models have been given their own cubicle for the first time ever at this year’s New York Fashion Week. The decision has been taken in light of the Hollywood sex scandal, and Sara Ziff, a former model who founded The Model Alliance six years ago, has been an influential figure behind the introduction of changing rooms.

She told Vogue magazine: “Models have been dealing with these issues for decades, and this behaviour has been an open secret, and now we finally have permission not only to talk about it but to act.”

The Model Alliance has received one report of harassment or assault a week since the sex scandal first erupted. And model Karen Elson, who sits on the advisory board of the Alliance, has welcomed the introduction of changing rooms. She said: “I believe a separation between privacy for models getting dressed and anyone filming or taking photos is a must.

“I cannot tell you, in my younger days, how many times I would catch photographers taking photos of me getting undressed, or that I was standing in nothing but a nude thong for extended periods of time in a room surrounded by people, feeling extremely exposed.”

The introduction of changing rooms comes shortly after model Kate Upton accused Guess co-founder Paul Marciano of sexual assault. The American star claimed that he harassed her for the duration of her contract with the company.

She recently said: “Despite doing everything I could physically do to avoid his touch throughout the meeting, he continued to touch me in a very dominating and aggressive way, grabbing my thighs, my arms to pull me closer, my shoulders to pull me closer, my neck, my breasts, and smelling me.”

Marciano has strongly denied her accusations, describing them as “absolutely false” and “preposterous”.

Tom Ford has gone vegan – but will still use fur in his designs

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Ford has gone vegan – but will still use fur in his designs. The 56-year-old designer has adopted a plant-based diet and admitted it has made him question the use of animal skins in his creations, but he has decided to “limit” what he uses and in the future will only use real skins if they are “food byproducts”.

He said: “I’ve been vegan for about the last year. When you look at how most of our meat, our animal products, are raised, from a health standpoint, I didn’t feel that I should eat those things anymore.

“The fur thing – of course, is a natural thing. [Going vegan] starts to make you question that. I have started using much more fake fur. I’m not yet ready to say that I’m fur-free.
“Now, however, I have limited the fur in these collections and going forward to food byproducts, which does not sound very sexy. “I’m selling you a food byproduct!” That means cowhide, it means shearling, it means not doing fur that is raised purely for its pelt.

“No mink, no fox. I have used a lot of fake fur this season. I’ve also used some shearling and what is called pony in the industry but it is not pony, it is cowhide. There’s longhaired cowhide and shorthaired.

“So I have been very conscious of using animal skins that are food byproducts. Because whether I’m consuming meat or not, other people are, so these are things that are collected.”
Tom also admitted he is reluctant to use fake fur because it is “terrible” for the environment and it doesn’t get used for anywhere near as long as real animal skin.

He told WWD: “I’m also very torn about this because fake fur is terrible for the environment. People think of fake fur as a disposable thing. They buy it, they wear it a few seasons, they throw it away, it doesn’t biodegrade. It’s a petroleum product. It is highly toxic.

“And then, you could argue that tanning leather is a highly toxic process. A fur coat gets recycled. People wear them for 30 years, they give them to their kids, then they turn them into throw pillows. So I don’t know the answer to that. I’ve been very honest, and it’s probably going to get me in all sorts of trouble with everybody, but I don’t know the answer.”

And though he is vegan, the ‘A Single Man’ director can’t help but “cheat” with his favourite sugary desserts. Discussing his love of donuts, he admitted: “I do cheat with baked goods. That’s true. I will eat a baked good that clearly has some eggs in it. But I don’t eat eggs and I don’t drink milk; I use almond milk. And I don’t eat any animal flesh, I don’t eat fish, I don’t eat chicken, I don’t eat meat. But yes, I do cheat with some baked goods, because most vegan baked goods just don’t do it like a box of Hostess doughnuts. And I still eat a lot of sugar.

“I mean, I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. Now I don’t eat any meat. I’m essentially vegan. But, yes, sugar.”

Hilary Duff has created 23 frames for the Muse x Hilary Duff collection with GlassesUSA + VIDEO!

OHMYGOSSIP — Hilary Duff has designed a new eyewear range. The 30-year-old singer-and-actress has created 23 frames for the Muse x Hilary Duff collection with GlassesUSA.com, and has named each one after “bad ass” women in history, such as Marilyn Monroe and Jane Austin, because she wants the wearers to feel “confident”.

She explained: “It’s from women in history that have really made their stamp on the world. We’re in a really great time for women … I feel like women are really getting to stand in the front. Naming them, it kind of came to me — just the inspiration was wanting women to feel confident and naming them [after] people that are badass.”

Hilary – who has five-year-old son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie – loves the online retailer because users can see what the frames look like on their faces thanks to a “virtual mirror”.

She said: “What I love about their website is that you can do a virtual mirror of yourself, and I was like, ‘That’s such a smart way to shop.’

“Glasses are such a personal thing. I love that you can upload a photo of yourself and try on all the different frames to see how they look, because they’re so different on everybody.”
Hilary herself “never leaves the house” without glasses or sunglasses and admitted she used to wear clear-lensed frames even when she didn’t have any problems with her vision.
She told People: “I think that when I started wearing glasses it was to be cool.”

The ‘Cinderella Story’ star had a lot of “fun” creating the frames. She said: “I [always] feel like something different, so it was really fun for me to create a line that I feel like works for girls, just like me, that are influenced by something or inspired by something different every single day.

“They’re very eclectic, fun, fashionable and inexpensive so you can have more than one pair.”

Khloe Kardashian only buys cheap earrings: I only buy inexpensive hoops because I loose them often

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian only buys cheap earrings. The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star – who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Tristan Thompson – always loses her trademark hoops so doesn’t see much point in splashing out on expensive jewellery for her lobes.

She revealed on Twitter: “I got my really big ones at Nine West. I only buy inexpensive hoops because I loose them often. The rest are from Claire’s (sic)”

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old star recently applied to trademark several possible brand names as she prepares to launch her own line of make-up, including ‘KOKO Kollection by Khloe Kardashian’, as well as ‘KOKO Kollection’.

Her sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner already have their own cosmetics brands and it was recently revealed Kourtney is also lining up her own brand, under the name ‘Kourt’.

Kylie, 20 – the daughter of Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner – launched her range in 2015 and has reportedly earned $420 million in retail sales in 18 months.

The range – called Kylie Cosmetics – keeps expanding year on year but is known for liquid lipsticks, lip liners, eye-shadow palettes, concealers and foundation.

Kim, 37, launched her KKW beauty range in 2016 and just two months ago dropped a line of shimmering highlighters and lip glosses.

Her perfume collection KKW Fragrance – called Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Citrus and Crystal Gardenia Oud – sold out in just six days.

Meanwhile, Khloe and her NBA star beau, 26, aren’t planning on keeping the sex of their child a surprise, so they can plan their baby’s name as soon as they know what they’re having.

When asked if she would be finding out the sex before the birth, Khloe said: “Yeah. There’s too many surprises in this whole thing, so I’m definitely going to know.”

Craig David used to spend lots of money on trainers – but never wear them

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig David used to spend lots of money on trainers – but never wear them. The 36-year-old singer is “thankful” his most lavish spending habit has always been on something relatively inexpensive, but he used to buy the footwear just to be a pristine part of his collection, though he’s now realised it’s better to actually use the shoes, Female First mediates.

He said: “I’ve got around 100 [pairs of trainers] – but I wear them now. There’s no point in them gathering dust. As a kid, I’d save up for trainers and really look after them. So when it got to the point where I could afford them, I was like a kid in a candy shop – and I’m thankful it was that instead of gold or cars…

“Before I had my house parties in Miami, the place was immaculate, I kept it all fresh but then I thought a home isn’t a home until you have people in it who enjoy it – then I opened it up and TS5 happened.

“It’s the same with stuff. You can hold on to things but it’s better to wear them and enjoy them.”

While he owns many pairs of trainers, the ‘Re-Rewind’ hitmaker does have a favourite. He told Metro newspaper: “I worked with a guy who customises trainers on a Louis Vuitton Adidas NMD trainer. He cut up a new Louis Vuitton bag and deconstructed the trainer and put all back together. I’ve worn them in videos and I’m going to bring them out again.”

Craig used to be “all about the gym” but has cut back on his workouts now because he’d rather be focusing on his music. He said:” I fit going to the gym around my music. There was a time when I was all about the gym but I’m not training to be an athlete because I’m not an athlete. If I go three or four times a week that’s good but it’s not a disaster if I don’t – I’d rather write a new song and impact possibly millions of people’s lives than lose an hour I could have been in the studio.”

Amena Khan pulls out of L’Oreal campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Amena Khan has pulled out of a L’Oreal campaign after she was accused of writing “anti-Israel” tweets.
The British beauty blogger – who has been accused of posting offensive messages on the micro-blogging website – has taken to her Instagram account to confirm that she’s withdrawing from the campaign “because of the current conversations surrounding it”.
In a lengthy message on Instagram, she wrote: “I deeply regret the content of the tweets I made in 2014, and sincerely apologise for the upset and hurt that they have caused. Championing diversity is one of my passions, I don’t discriminate against anyone. I have chosen to delete them as they do not represent the message of harmony that I stand for. I recently took part in a campaign, which excited me because it celebrated inclusivity. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris told the BBC: “We have recently been made aware of a series of tweets posted in 2014 by Amena Kahn, who was featured in a UK advertising campaign.
“We appreciate that Amena has since apologised for the content of these tweets and the offence they have caused.
“L’Oreal Paris is committed to tolerance and respect towards all people. We agree with her decision to step down from the campaign.”

Nick Jonas is keen to launch his own clothing line in the future

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas is keen to launch his own clothing line in the future. The 25-year-old star has recently collaborated with designer John Varvatos, and he’s suggested that, in the long term, he’d like to launch his own brand.

Nick – who has made the transition from music to acting during his career – explained: “I think it’s the same way I think about the acting side of things. When I’m on set, whether it was on ‘Kingdom’ or ‘Jumanji’, I really try to be a student of the whole process – not just my process as an actor, more with an eye towards wanting to write and direct someday.

“But I know that I want to get to a place where I’ve been around enough creative people and been in enough films that people will trust me. In the same way, I want to continue to be a student for a while.”

Nick has relished the experience of working with John on their collaboration. And the dark-haired hunk believes that the more time he spends with established designers, the better placed he is to launch his own line.

He told GQ magazine: “To work with someone like John with a career like his, and a brand that’s a household name… Then, eventually, if there’s ever an opportunity to do something on my own, I’ll feel like I’ve had the experience and time with someone who could teach me. I’m going to be patient with that, but I do see that the sky is the limit.”

Nick Jonas always carries a suit

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas always travels with a suit just in case he needs to wear one.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter – who has recently teamed up with John Varvatos to launch a new clothing line – spends a large proportion of his time travelling, and Nick has revealed that a suit is the one item he can’t leave home without.
Asked about his shopping and packing habits, Nick shared: “It’s a combination of two things: I work with a great stylist named Avo. We find the pieces that make a bold statement and that showcase my growth in fashion and my tastes. And then in addition to that, the pieces that I know I’ll need when I’m travelling.
“That’s great black denim, white sneakers, and great basics – gray T-shirts, white T-shirts. And I always, always pack a black suit, white shirt, and a tie. You never know when you’re going to need those.”
And while Nick considers online shopping to be “great” for himself and other consumers, he prefers to go into stores to buy his clothes.
Speaking to GQ magazine, the American star explained: “Shopping for me is interesting. Shopping online is great for some people, but I prefer to see it in person.
“I’ve got a few spots in L.A. and in New York that I like to go to, designers that I know will work well with my build and taste.
“Usually, when I go shopping, I’m avoiding suiting and I trust my stylist to help me there. As far as T-shirts and hoodies and jackets, that’s the world I choose to do my shopping in.”

Lucy Hale is thinking of going blonde after being inspired by Selena Gomez

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Hale is thinking of going blonde after being inspired by Selena Gomez. The 28-year-old actress loves mixing up her hair colour and style and she’s planning a “drastic” change to her locks when she sees her stylist next week.

She said: “I’m getting my hair done in like a week, and I don’t know what I’m going to do but it will probably be something drastic because I don’t have to film for a little bit. I could be coming out with a different colour. I have to do something different because I get so bored.

“I saw Selena [go blonde] and she looked so good. I was like ‘Yes!’ That was good inspiration. When it comes to beauty, I would try anything.”

The ‘Life Sentence’ actress finds good-quality basics can be very “sexy” but she’s having fun trying out new looks with her wardrobe and she particularly enjoys putting together unexpected combinations. She told People: “I think there’s something so sexy about being comfortable wearing jeans and a T-shirt. I think what’s so cool about Coach right now is it’s very easy, everyday wear, but it’s funky.

“You would never expect to put a bomber with a skirt, and that’s partly my take on it too, but I think no one should ever take themselves too seriously. I’m at a point in my life with fashion where I’m just having fun with it and trying new things. There are no rules!”

Lucy previously admitted she is happy to experiment with her hair because she doesn’t feel “attached” to her locks. She said: “I’ve tried so many different styles. I’m not really attached to my hair. I just constantly want something new — I’d get a different haircut with every outfit if I could! I’d even shave it off.”

And Lucy also enjoys trialling bold lipstick shades. She said: “I have a bunch of sunglasses, but I’m really into the John Lennon, small-circle frames. When it comes to make-up, I love experimenting with a bold lip. A coral shade is perfect for summer.”

Alexa Chung’s business ‘makes £1.5 million loss’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung’s business has reportedly recorded an annual loss of almost £1.5 million.
The 34-year-old beauty is among the most recognisable faces in the fashion world, but her own business, Alpha Charlie, has recorded some eye-watering losses, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Alexa ran up the debts in the company before its launch in May 2017, and documents show that those losses rose from a relatively modest £75,000 to around £1.5 million.
The accounts cover the launch year, which could be expected to run up a loss.
But the scale of the losses mean that Alexa – whose business name is based on her own initials – will have to sell a huge number of items in order for her company to turn a profit.
The British beauty’s line is being sold in stores like Selfridges, and it features 145 individual pieces.
Alexa – who split from Hollywood actor Alexander Skarsgard last year – revealed when she launched her own line that she was looking forward to embracing the creative freedoms it afforded her.
The model – who launched her business on the back of a £3 million share issue – explained: “I just wanted the freedom to make my own world, without someone else’s brand’s brief to stick to.
“I feel like I need to get it up and running while I’m still young enough to have the energy and in touch with pop culture enough to make something that is actually relevant to the audience today.”

Nick Jonas ’embraces Detroit’ with new collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas claims to have embraced Detroit as part of his collaboration with John Varvatos.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter has joined forces with the brand for a limited-edition capsule collection, which will debut in the spring, and even though he was raised in New Jersey, Nick admits that Detroit has heavily influenced the collection.
The dark-haired hunk – whose line has a rock ‘n’ roll sensibility –
hailed Detroit as “a great American city and the origin of John’s brand”.
He continued: “This was a cool opportunity to embrace Detroit as a whole.
“I’ve had the chance to play some really iconic music venues there and I love the city, I love the people, and so we thought, let’s take a great American city and show some love, pay respect to so many musical icons and just great men and women that have come out of there. But I fully intend on doing a Jersey piece at some point, too.”
Meanwhile, Varvatos said that the collaboration is unlike anything the brand has ever done before.
And he is already excited about the prospect of working with Nick again in the future.
He told Women’s Wear Daily: “This collaboration is unique to us. We’ve never done another collaboration with any artist, any individual, on the product, the design, the aesthetic of the brand. I look forward to doing many more things with Nick in the future.”
Nick was similarly enthusiastic about their partnership, saying it was “really organic”.
He shared: “I met John at a dinner – we were seated next to one another and just hit it off. We talked about music, fashion, where we came from. After the dinner we stayed in touch.”

Millie Bobby Brown’s dancing shoes

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown wore sneakers to the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
The ‘Stranger Things’ actress put comfort first when she walked the red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday (21.01.18), teaming her pink sparkly Calvin Klein gown with Converse flats.
She told E! News: “Gotta keep it stylish!
“It’s fun to go to the parties. I love to dance. That’s why I brought these.”
The 13-year-old actress – who was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series – wore her hair in two top knot buns tied with ribbons.
She said of the style: “I think they’re cute.”
While Millie wore her dancing shoes to the event, she admitted she didn’t have big plans for after the show.
She said: “I’ll probably go back to my hotel room and eat pizza and watch a movie with my family.”
And despite the glamorous evening, the teenage actress insisted her everyday life is usually much more “simple”.
She said: “My little sister – she’s six – I go and play Barbie dolls with her. It’s like the most fun.
“Or I got and play in the garden with my dog. It’s that simple.”
Meanwhile, the actress recently admitted shaving her head for her role in ‘Stranger Things’ had been the “most empowering” thing she’d ever done.
She said: “Shaving your head is so empowering. You don’t need hair to be beautiful. You are beautiful with or without. I learnt that too x. The last strand of hair cut off was the moment my whole face was on show and I couldn’t hide behind my hair like I used to. As I looked in the mirror I realised I had one job to do. Inspire.(sic)”

Mandy Moore revisits old look on SAG red carpet

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore’s Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards dress was inspired by a gown she wore in 2014.
The ‘This Is Us’ star walked the red carpet on Sunday (21.01.18) in a royal blue sequin custom slip gown by Ralph Lauren and stylist Erica Cloud had sought out one of her “all-time favourite” creations, the striped linen dress Mandy wore to the premiere of her 2004 movie ‘Saved!’ and had it modernised for the occasion.
Erica explained to E! News: “One of my all-time favourite dresses is the Ralph Lauren that she wore to the ‘Saved!’ premiere.
“It was just this beautiful slip dress and I remember thinking, ‘Wow, that’s a perfect dress,’ I cut it out of InStyle magazine and saved the clipping.
“They sent us her original dress and we made slight alterations to how we wanted them to make it, but we basically remade that dress in custom fabric.”
And the stylist felt the gown was a good symbol of the “rebirth” the 33-year-old actress has enjoyed in recent years following a stint out of the spotlight.
She told People: “I think it’s very symbolic of her rebirth.
“It was such a cool look then, we thought, ‘Why not revisit it now?’ It’s a beautiful, elegant silhouette.
“For her, I think it shows she’s still herself, but just an updated version. Also, the colour of it is like the ocean, so it’s like a rebirth from the sea, so to speak.”
While Mandy and her stylist were delighted with her look, Erica was on hand up until the very last minute in case there were any mishaps.
She said: “I’ve had a time where someone’s gone out the door and a seam split and they walked back in the door and I had to take it off and sew it myself and then send them on their way, so you just kind of have to be prepared for anything.”

Kristen Bell tried 40 dresses

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell tried over 40 dresses before choosing her Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award outfits.
The ‘Frozen’ star was the ceremony’s first-ever host on Sunday (21.01.18) and worked hard with stylist Nicole Chavez to get her look just right.
The pair began discussing what Kristen would wear as soon as she landed her hosting role in mid-December.
Nicole said: “I tried to secure as many looks as possible before the holiday break so that when we were back after New Year’s we could hit the ground running.”
The eventually narrowed down the pile of dresses to the J. Mendel fuchsia strapless gown Kristen wore on the red carpet at the Shrine Auditorium, and the string of all-black outfit changes she had during the show in tribute to the TIme’s Up anti-harassment initiative.
And for Nicole, it was important Kristen looked “beautiful” but her outfits didn’t take over the event.
She explained to People magazine: “Obviously I wanted her to look beautiful but also not to make it a fashion show for her, but rather a night about the men and women who gave such superb performances throughout the year.
“We also have her in black throughout the show honouring the Time’s Up movement. We wanted her glam but also comfortable and made sure the dresses matched the tone of the show.”
Each of the 37-year-old star’s all-black looks had very distinct styles, and Nicole mixed up the order she wore them after checking rehearsals for the ceremony.
She explained: “Once I saw rehearsal the day before we just moved around the order but all the looks worked and felt effortless on stage.”
And the stylist credited the former ‘Veronica Mars’ actress’ beauty team for helping pull all the looks together.
She said: “It was all essential to be in constant communication with her glam team — make-up artist Simone Siegel and hairstylist Jenny Cho — so that the looks flowed into to one another seamlessly.
“There was not be enough time to do drastic looks for all the changes yet we all wanted to create four unique looks. It’s a team effort from start to finish.”
But while the changes seemed effortless, the team had some problems because it was very dark backstage.
Nicole said: “There is minimal light so we had to get creative with the electricians. The morning is calm and then as it gets closer to show time everyone is buzzing around. It’s electric.”

Dakota Fanning’s natural brows

OHMYGOSSIP — Dakota Fanning “doesn’t touch” her eyebrows.
The ‘Please Stand By’ star has natural-looking, evenly-shaped brows but admitted she is so low maintenance, she does nothing to keep their shape and prefers them to stay full.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards, she told E! presenter Nina Parker: “My only tip is that I don’t touch my eyebrows.
“I don’t wax them. I don’t touch them at all…I get them from my grandmother, and my grandmother doesn’t do anything to her eyebrows either.”
The ‘Alienist’ actress walked the red carpet in a blush pink Prada gown, and opted for barely-there nude make-up, with peach eyeshadow accented by a glittery pale pink on the inner corners and lids, while her cheeks and lips were also flesh-toned pink.
Manicurist Lisa Pena Wong kept Dakota’s nails natural, using a sheer peach-toned polish for a simple look.
Despite being in the spotlight for over 10 years, the 23-year-old actress credits the fact she’s driven by her passion for her work, rather than a desire for fame, for keeping her grounded.
She said: “I never really know how to answer this question. I got into acting because a pure love of the work and being on set.
“All this other kind of craziness tonight that comes with it is a bonus and fun, but doesn’t really make me who I am or this is not why I am an actor to be here.”
And Dakota likes attending awards ceremonies because she enjoys being in the presence of Hollywood greats and seeing brilliant work being recognised.
She said: “It’s just a really fun event to honour great people and great work.”
