Katherine Schwarzenegger uses eco-friendly skincare products

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Schwarzenegger thinks using economically-friendly skincare products is “truly amazing”.
The 29-year-old author – who is engaged to ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star Chris Pratt – celebrated Earth Day on Monday (22.04.19) by opening up about her non-toxic daily routine, explaining she uses plant-based line Biossance to keep her complexion looking flawless and help the “environment”.
She told People magazine: “We want this planet to be happy and healthy for generations to come, and that starts with us and being mindful of our effect on the earth.
“[There are] ways to be more eco-conscious with the products that I use and how important that is not only for the earth but also for our bodies.
“I love [that the Biossance] skincare line is not only better for the environment but it’s also better for me and my skin.
“Knowing I’m using something that’s free of harsh chemicals, is non-toxic and that I can actually see results with, is truly amazing.”
And Katherine credits her younger sister Christina, 27, for making her an “eco-conscious person” so she can make better choices for herself and the environment.
She added: “Her passion around being an eco-conscious person has definitely had a positive effect on me and has made me more aware of steps I can take to be more eco-friendly. She is always educating me and my family about more ways we can do a better job being environmentally friendly.”
The brunette beauty has also asked her fans to “take baby steps” to help the planet for future generations.
She continued: “I think people, including myself, find it intimidating when people talk about it in a certain way and share all the crazy statistics about how much bad we do in our everyday life for the planet, but there’s so much good we can do starting at the very little things. You can take baby steps!”

Olivia Culpo used to over-exfoliate skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Culpo used to over-exfoliate her skin and get breakouts.
The 26-year-old model has opened up about her evening ritual and admitted that she used to suffer from spots on one side of her cheek until A-list skincare guru Dr. Barbara Sturm advised her to stop scrubbing her face “daily”.
She said: “[I use] the Dr. Barbara Sturm Enzyme Cleanser [$75] which is my favourite. She recommended this for me because I was getting these breakouts on one side of my cheek. I told her I was using these products with bees and trying to exfoliate every single day and she noticed that I was actually over-exfoliating.
It’s really fun too, it’s lightweight because it’s powder.
“See? There’s more make-up. That’s why I do this and the wipe, because I want to be sure I get everything off, especially before bed.”
And the brunette beauty swears by coconut oil and Neutrogena towelettes to help get rid of her make-up before bed and “hydrate” her complexion.
She told US Harper’s Bazaar’s ‘Go To Bed With Me’ series: “I start my night time routine with one of my favourite products, these are Neutrogena Make-Up Remover towelettes [$8.99], you can wash your face and then use these wipes and you’ll be surprised with how much more comes off, and it also hydrates the skin which I love.
“If I ever need a little extra love for my eye make-up, I use a wipe and dip it in coconut oil, it works so well to get any stubborn mascara, or anything you’re really trying to get off.”
Olivia also swears by La Mer and rich face masks to give her skin an extra boost because she suffers from breakouts when she is “dehydrated”.
She continued: “I’m going to use a very hydrating Skin Design [$105] balm mask, it’s extremely hydrating, in addition I use the La Mer renewal oil.
“I find that when I’m breaking out, contrary to popular belief it’s not because my skin is super oily, it’s because my skin is really dehydrated. So my pores are acting up and they’re not cooperating with life, airplanes, and lack of sleep.”

Alana Hadid has no sibling rivalry

OHMYGOSSIP — Alana Hadid insists she isn’t in “competition” with her famous siblings.
The 33-year-old fashion designer’s younger half-sisters, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and her half-brother Anwar are all successful models and though they work in the same industry, they are all “supportive” of one another.
She said: “I’m not in competition with my sisters or brother.
“We all have an innate work ethic and I feel successful – I do a lot of things people perhaps don’t know about, as do my sisters. Being famous is not being a success.
“We are really protective and supportive of each other.
“We love each other, we want to be close and we’ve never thought anything of each other apart from that we’re brothers and sisters – that’s why we remain so close.”
Alana believes fashion is “in the genes” of her family.
She said: “My sister Marielle is in fashion and Gigi and Bella and my brother Anwar. It’s in the genes.”
Away from the cameras, the siblings all lead a “pretty normal” life.
Alana said: “Regardless of Gigi and Bella’s fame, and how hard they’ve worked, we really are just sisters. We go shopping, we do a little cooking and we have a group chat. We do all the things that sisters do.”
And all the sisters love to swap clothes.
Alana told Grazia magazine: “Gigi was wearing my [fashion] line just the other day.
“We swap clothes all the time – I was just in New York and I definitely borrowed some of Gigi’s things.”

Jordyn Woods’ brow focus

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordyn Woods’ top beauty tip is to always “start with eyebrows”.
The 21-year-old model thinks it’s easy to groom brows to look like they have been “freshly done”, which perfectly sets up a base to begin the rest of a make-up routine.
She said:” My top tip is to star with your eyebrows first when applying make-up.
“Begin by shaping them with your brow pencil and then use concealer to make it look like you have a fresh brow line.
“This will disguise all the out-of-place hairs and your brows will appear to be freshly done.”
Jordyn favours a “pretty simple” look when it comes to her eyes.
She said: “For my eyes, I really like Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara.
“When it comes to eyeshadow, I just like to keep it pretty simple.
“You can use any eyeshadow to create your look, but I don’t like to experiment too much.”
The reality TV star is “quite strict” when it comes to looking after her skin but doesn’t do anything particularly unusual when it comes to her cleansing routine.
She said: “My skin routine is probably quite strict, but it’s nothing too crazy.
“I use Dr. Barbara Sturm Enzyme Cleanser as it’s not too harsh on my sensitive skin.
“Then I use a really good moisturiser – I like Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentre.
“I also apply Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil and Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask before bed.”
And Jordyn believes it’s important to take the time to give her hair a regular treat too.
She said: “I feel like it’s good every once in a while to do a hair mask.
“Everyone’s hair is different but for mine I need to use a product that’s super rich and revitalising, like Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask.”

Dame Helen Mirren’s confidence boost

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren thinks make-up gives her confidence.
The 73-year-old actress has always enjoyed experimenting with cosmetics and loves the satisfying feeling she gets when she looks in the mirror after her face is finished.
She said: “I’ve always loved make-up. It can make you into a character. It can make you look better and, of course, it can make you look worse.
“I absolutely love make-up and it’s my pleasure to wear it.
“I think it imbues a certain confidence.
“When you put your make-up on, you go out and then catch a reflection of yourself and think, ‘Oh actually, I look OK. That’s satisfying.’ ”
The ‘Red’ actress – who is married to director Taylor Hackford – urged people to be more experimental with their beauty look because if something doesn’t work, it’s easily removed.
She said: “People should always experiment with make-up and try different looks. And if it’s terrible, it doesn’t matter – you can scrub it all off.”
While the ‘Leisure Seeker’ actress loves experimenting with make-up, she recently admitted she’s more willing to go out bare-faced these days.
She said: “I never used to leave the house without a bit of make-up on. But the more you need it the less you care about it. And even though I know that I might be stopped and asked for a selfie, I just don’t mind any more.”
The ‘Queen’ actress thinks people have to be “brave” about getting older but she’s accepted being able to deal with her advancing years.
She told Britain’s Vogue magazine: “You do have to be brave. When people say, ‘Getting old is not for p*****s,’ there’s a certain amount of truth to that.
“When I was in my late 30s, my mother gave me some fantastic advice. ‘Never be afraid of getting old,’ she said, ‘because when you’re 20 the idea of being 35 is horrific. When you’re 35 the idea of being 55 is a nightmare, but as you get older you realise that you have the tools to deal with it.”

Alexina Graham: It’s ‘surreal’ being a Victoria’s Secret Angel

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexina Graham thinks it’s “surreal” that she gets to work with a “powerful group” of women every day.
The 29-year-old model was recently named Victoria’s Secret’s newest Angel, and the Nottinghamshire-born beauty admitted that it is an “honour” to work with the lingerie giant and she will use her global platform to represent “redheads” so her fans can have a “relatable” role model.
She told Hello! magazine: “It’s such an honour to become an Angel, and I want to use this platform to help people. Redheads are teased quite a lot because we stand out, so it means a lot that I can represent redheads and be someone they can relate to. It’s amazing and surreal to be part of a group of powerful women who support each other and whom I’ve looked up to for so long.”
The flame-haired beauty joined her pal Barbara Palvin, who was named an Angel for the prestigious brand a week before Alexina, on the Victoria’s Secret set and the model admitted that it was a “dream” to be able to experience the “journey” with her close friend.
She added: “Barbara and I met four years ago when we were working for L’Oreal, and we were reunited on a set for Victoria’s Secret. She stood there and said: ‘This was our dream to work at Victoria’s Secret and now we’re here,’ and she started crying – it was so sweet. It’s such a big thing to go on this journey with her.”
The British model insisted that despite her long struggle with bullies at school, she always makes sure to “reach out” to her followers and credits her “strong” network pf family and friends for helping “lift her up if she’s ever having a bad day.
She continued: “It’s so important to reach out. It can make someone’s day if I answer them and share. It also helps to have strong friendships and family around you – they lift you up and make you see you’re not the person bullies say you are.”

Reese Witherspoon’s biggest beauty regret was overplucking her eyebrows

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon’s biggest beauty regret is plucking her eyebrows.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star used to deliberately make her eyebrows really thin back in the 1990s and she is now grateful she didn’t “pluck them into oblivion”.
Asked about her biggest beauty regret, she said: “In the ’90s, we plucked our brows really thin. I said “we” – at least I did. And it just looked awful.
“Thank God, they grew back, but, I mean, who knows what they might look like now if I hadn’t plucked them into oblivion!”
The 43-year-old actress loves wearing false eyelashes but is grateful that her make up artist taught her how to put them on properly.
She added: “My make up artist, Molly R. Stern, taught me how to put on fake eyelashes. She hates that I put on a full strip, but I’m from the South – I love a good old fashioned drugstore strip lash. I pop it on, put a little liquid liner over it, and I feel like my eyes look more open. I made a mess the first time, but then Molly showed me how to make it better. Always put liquid eyeliner over it.”
Reese – who has Ava, 19, and Deacon, 15, with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe and Tennessee, six, with her spouse Jim Toth – takes pre-natal vitamins as she thinks they improve her hair.
Asked about her vitamin regime, she told Allure magazine: “Prenatals. One of my girlfriends told me she takes them even though she’s not pregnant, so now I do, too. It makes my hair look better.”

Duchess Meghan inspired by YouTube

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Meghan gets beauty inspiration from YouTube.
The former actress – who was known as Meghan Markle before her marriage to Prince Harry – has worked with make-up artist Daniel Martin for several years but she urges him to look online at trends she’s spotted and wants to try out.
Daniel told Grazia magazine: “She makes me go on YouTube to learn about things.
“She’ll be like, ‘Oh I follow this person and they did it this way’ – and I’m like, ‘Oh OK’.”
Daniel is based in the US and was so busy ahead of Meghan’s wedding, he couldn’t meet with her face-to-face to test her make-up look for the big day.
He admitted: “We did her make-up trial over text – I didn’t have time to see her.”
But the beauty guru insisted that didn’t matter because Meghan – who is expecting her first child this month – is so easy to work with.
He said: “I’ve known Meghan for 10 years and I know what she’s comfortable and not comfortable in.
“It’s all about being comfortable in your own skin because it’s such an iconic moment in anyone’s life.
“All I knew that day was I wanted Harry to see her…
“I love her freckles. She has incredible skin so it was easy.”
And it took until they arrived at Windsor Castle for Daniel to fully realise what a big occasion he was a part of.
He said: “I just wanted her to look and feel the best she could.
“It didn’t even hit us until we got to Windsor and saw the people lined up that this was actually happening.”
The make-up artist was delighted with the response he received afterwards.
He said: “A lot of moms reached out to me after the wedding and thanked me for inspiring their daughters.”

Iskra Lawrence ‘breaking the rules’

OHMYGOSSIP — Iskra Lawrence wants to “break the rules” when it comes to fashion.
The 28-year-old model is known for her hourglass shape and bold looks on the red carpet, and she feels as a larger model, she should be more daring on the red carpet and think outside the box.
She told Page Six Style: “Being curvier, I think it’s important to break the rules and I think it’s important to show that you’re confident in whatever you wear and make an impact on the red carpet when, for so long, we’ve only seen one body type and size make waves. I’m really trying to break through and say that no matter what size you are, you can rock it.
“I feel the pressure to not wear body-con all the time when so many shapes and so many obvious go-tos are tight; I really try to push back on that. It’s hard because sometimes oversized suits or jackets just don’t fit, so it’s a balance between stretchy things and those that fit better. But we try to find a way to do things out of the box, because we should be able to wear what everyone else does.”
And the blonde beauty swears by coconut oil to keep her golden locks in prestige condition.
She added: “I started braiding [my hair] at night and putting a mini tie at the bottom. I do hair masks all the time. I’ll do a mixture of Kérastase or coconut oil now and again.”
Iskra has previously spoken openly about her battling with an eating disorder and admitted she believed the only way she could be successful in her profession and content in her personal life was to stay slim.
She said: “I was trapped in this vicious cycle of feeling that I was failing at achieving this body ideal I thought I had to have to be successful in my dream career, to be successful in relationships and to be happy.”

Beyonce releases Homecoming merchandise

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce has launched a line of ‘Homecoming’-themed merchandise following the release of her documentary.
The ‘Formation’ songstress launched her much-anticipated behind-the-scenes Netflix film on Wednesday (17.04.19) and the singer has now released a limited-edition line of apparel, mugs and phone cases to celebrate the form.
‘Homecoming’ documents Beyonce’s 2018 performance at Coachella, which celebrated black culture and paid tribute to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and subsequently the ‘Crazy In Love’ hitmaker’s included that theme in her merchandise, with sorority-style Greek system lettering, the black panther and a limited-edition crest pin set.
The Homecoming range includes letter sweatshirts, Nefertiti t-shirts, mugs, phone cases and the iconic ring binder fans see in the documentary that simply reads on the front “Beychella 2018.”
The 37-year-old singer – who has seven-year-old Blue Ivy and 20-month-old twins Rumi and Sir with her rapper husband Jay-Z – placed herself on a strict plant-based diet to reach her goal, because she was 218 pounds the day she gave birth to her twins in 2017.
She said in the documentary: “In order for me to meet my goals, I’m limiting myself to no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol … I’m hungry.”
And Beyonce vowed that she’d never push her body “that far again”.
She continued: “It’s not like before when I could rehearse 15 hours straight. I have children. I have a husband. I have to take care of my body.
“I definitely pushed myself further than I knew I could and I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. I will never, never push myself that far again.”

Tess Holliday wishes she loved body ‘100 pounds ago’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tess Holliday wishes she loved herself “100 pounds ago”.
The 33-year-old star – who made history last year by becoming the first ever size 22 model to grace the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine – gets frustrated by people claiming she is “promoting obesity” but she insists she can’t live her life feeling “miserable” because of her size.
She said: “What makes me laugh the most? When people say I’m promoting obesity or recruiting people to be fat. If I say, ‘I love myself,’ and they think I’m saying, ‘Hey, you need to be 300 pounds, then you too could enjoy life as much as me,’ I have to smile. People act as if I’m selling Tupperware or something — that’s not how it works.
“I wish I would’ve loved myself 100 pounds ago, but this is the body I’m in. I can’t live life being miserable, because I could die tomorrow. And then what — I was miserable because I was fat? What a waste.”
And Tess “goes to therapy” to make “sense” of body-shaming trolls and she admitted that she regularly receives abusive messages on social media, which she talks over with her therapist because it can really “affect” her.
She told America’s InStyle magazine: “The other day I woke up to the following message on Instagram: ‘Your body image is unhealthy and dangerous. You’re a blimp trying to layer yourself in nice clothes and make-up. Can’t wait for you to drop dead of a heart attack.’ It ended with a smiley-face emoji.
“I receive messages like this every day — and have my entire life. I would be lying if I said they didn’t affect me. I go to therapy to try to make sense of it all. I will tell someone to f**k off if they deserve it, but I’d rather come from a place of compassion.
Tess sometimes “deletes” her social media accounts altogether if something is getting her in a “bad headspace”, and instead focus on her “self-care” folder.
She added: “When I’m in a bad headspace, I definitely mute people on social media who don’t make me feel great at the moment. And that’s OK. Who you follow is who you’re letting into your inner circle. It’s in your subconscious. It’s what you’re absorbing.
“Sometimes I delete social media from my phone altogether. Then I focus on my ‘self-care folder’ that has games like Cat Cafe, where you feed and pet little virtual cats. It’s silly, but it takes me away from the negativity.”

Stella Maxwell religiously ‘drinks water’ to avoid detox

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella Maxwell always makes sure she stays “hydrated” to avoid having to detox.
The 28-year-old model is known for her flawless complexion when she is on and off the runway, and the star admitted that a big part of her daily routine is to drink “lots of water” to keep her skin clear and glowing, so she doesn’t have to ever worry about an internal cleanse.
She told W magazine: “I’ve made sure to stay hydrated and drink lots of water this weekend [at Coachella] so detoxing isn’t really an issue for me. But, after a weekend of live music and experiences, some quiet time always helps. Keep it cool and don’t act a fool.”
And the blonde beauty keeps her face clear by always getting her beauty sleep and maintaining a “fresh” and healthy diet daily.
She added: “[I] drink plenty of water, eat fresh and clean. And remember to get rest when you can. It’s tempting to stay out late, but they call it beauty rest for a reason! Wash your face before bed. And if you put something toxic into your body, it’s going to reflect on your body.”
Stella also never leaves the house without Mario Badescu skincare products and swears by travelling with her own soaps to keep her skin looking its best.
She continued: “Allow for sleep on your flights. Make sure you pay attention to what type of water your putting on your skin when you travel, as water changes from city to city. Travel with your own soaps.
“I always travel with Mario Badescu skincare products. I’m currently really into Miranda Kerr’s KORA Organics line.”

Kendall Jenner loves skin to be ‘glowy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kendall Jenner loves her skin to be “fresh and glowy”.
The 23-year-old model teamed up with celebrity make-up artist Mary Phillips to create an iconic look for the annual Coachella music festival, and the beauty guru has revealed that the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star wanted to keep her look “naturally glam” but with an extra shine.
She told Harpers Bazaar UK: “Festival looks tend to be more playful with all the ‘bells and whistles’. You can get away with a lot more things than you can for daily life or red carpets.
“We’re very collaborative and always love fresh, beautiful, glowy skin. Kendall is always naturally glam but she looked much more glowy for Coachella this year. I really wanted to pump up her highlight so I chose Iconic London’s illuminator because of the way it shines on the skin and glows in the light.”
And Phillips – who is the go-to make-up artist for the likes of Chrissy Teigen, Gigi Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski – always likes to start her look on “clean skin” and swears by Crème de La Mer and Iconic London’s liquid Illuminator to keep her client’s looking “radiant” and glowy.
She added: “I always start with Crème de La Mer on clean skin. I finished the skin with Iconic London’s liquid Illuminator in Original to highlight areas for a radiant glow.
“Applying highlighter on the body to glow from head-to-toe is a big beauty festival trend and it’s a hero product for me this year. You can do extreme highlighting or tone it down for a softer sheen by mixing it in with moisturiser and/or foundation.”

Khloe Kardashian needed tan to make hair look good

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian’s platinum blonde hair only looked “fabulous” when she had a “spray tan”.
The 34-year-old reality star has dyed her tresses “a little bit darker”, thanks to celebrity stylist Tracey Cunningham, and the ‘Revenge Body’ host has admitted she made the decision because her old look involved a lot of “upkeep”.
She said on her Instagram Story: “I just got my hair coloured by Tracey Cunningham. I’m going a little bit darker, just adding more dimension in it.
“[The platinum] was great. It was such a moment. I loved it. But it’s a lot of upkeep to do that.
“I felt like unless I had spray tan, I didn’t look fabulous all the time. But I love adding some more dark in there.”
And Tracey praised the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star’s “realism” when it comes to her locks, and admitted that Khloe’s colour transformation will be a slow process to make sure her hair stays in the best condition possible.
She wrote on Instagram: “I [love] @khloekardashian ! Khloe wants to go back to her #highlighted #blondehair so I did @Redken #shadeseq #lowlights in foils 07nb+07n+07g on Zone 1&2 09nb+08wg+09n on zone 3 leaving the ends out #highlights #flashlift 30vol 1/4 oz @olaplex
“I was going to low light all the way up to the top but after she showed me the photo it was one where we started going a little lighter. It was more solid on top so I left it blonder because I didn’t want to freak her out. Khloe is so realistic and patient, now you can see her natural color woven in on top.
“Next time I will probably put more low lights on top, but for now we just did lowlight underneath the crown. And I didn’t do this alone @jacqui_erickson and @kevinxstarr assisted me (sic)”

Anna Wintour impressed by Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy style

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Wintour has been impressed by Duchess Meghan’s pregnancy wardrobe.
The Vogue editor-in-chief has praised the former ‘Suits’ actress – who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry in the coming weeks – for attending engagements in “tall” heels and having “incredible” maternity style that “flaunts” her baby bump.
She told Vogue’s YouTube video series, Go Ask Anna: “I’ve been very taken by how Meghan Markle has been dressing, the Duchess of Sussex has been dressing throughout her pregnancy. Her heels actually seem to be getting taller every time I look at a picture of her!
“When pregnant I think it is very important to continue wearing your own personal style. I never understand why women suddenly decide they want to hide their pregnancy. Why not celebrate it. It is an incredibly joyful time in a woman’s life. It is nothing to be hidden and be ashamed of. It is much better to flaunt it, so go for it.”
The 68-year-old fashionista – who is know for her big sunglasses and fitted dresses – also praised the Duchess of Sussex for making her want to wear “suits” again.
Speaking at the 10th Anniversary Women In The World Summit in New York City, Anna said: “I think [wearing Wintour’s signature look] that’s an entirely personal decision … It’s probably an easier decision to wear the same thing every day and not have to be concerned.
“Maybe it’s a little bit boring and time to change. I’ve been thinking a lot about suits recently so … thank you to the Duchess of Sussex!
“Obviously, her style is fantastic. When she went on that trip to Australia and New Zealand, she was very respectful in choosing a lot of unknown Australian designers to wear, which was great. But I think, more importantly, she’s really bringing modernity to the royal family in a way that is inspiring.”

Kate Moss first bought ‘shimmer lipstick’ for school disco

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss’ first makeup memory is buying “shimmer lipstick” for a school disco.
The 45-year-old supermodel has opened up about her beauty must-haves when she was growing up in the 1980s, but the star revealed that she “didn’t really wear” any products until she was on shoots, even though she loved to apply some glitz for events at school.
She told Vogue UK: “Back in the ’80s, buying a shimmer lipstick for the school disco, but I didn’t really wear make-up much in my younger years apart from when I was working. A smoky eye and a nude lip was always my go-to look.”
And when the blonde beauty – who is the face of Japanese luxury beauty brand Decorté – is in a rush and hasn’t got time to do a “full look” she will often use her lipstick to give her cheekbones an “instant glow”.
She added: “When you haven’t got time to do a full look but need a bit of colour, apply your lipstick and then blot off the excess with your finger and pat onto your cheekbones – it gives an instant glow. Decorté Rouge Lipstick (£32) has a high pigmentation so works perfectly for this trick.”
Moss also admitted that she thought that the collaboration between her and the beauty brand was an obvious choice because she “loves” their products and uses them herself.
She continued: “I was introduced to Decorté over four years ago when they approached me to be the brand ambassador and face of their campaign. They sent products for me to try, which I loved and so began our relationship. We have continued to work together on shoots and events ever since.”
