Lizzo’s head-piece was ‘hand-painted’ an hour before BET Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo’s head-piece was “hand-painted” just an hour before the 2019 BET Awards red carpet on Sunday night (23.06.19).
The 31-year-old singer – who was nominated for the Best Female Hip Hop Artist prize at the event – stepped out wearing a puff-sleeved mini dress that featured a block wood-grain pattern at the annual ceremony in Los Angeles, and the musician partnered her look with an oversized oval fascinator to match her iconic ensemble, which was created last-minute by celebrity hairstylist Shelby Swain.
Shelby said: “Honestly, this is the Baby Jesus of all hairstyles. This my favourite hair. I made sure to take my time and prayed to Jesus, hoping I would get this wood grain right.
“I’ve never done this type of look before, so this was all new to me, but I really wanted to get creative and try something new. I literally hand-painted the piece with my sister only an hour before red carpet.”
And Lizzo wanted to pay homage to her Texan roots by “showcasing” the wood-grain effect in her hair and clothes.
Speaking to E! News, on the carpet: “Lizzo is truly from Houston, Texas, and she wanted to showcase that in her look ‘wood grain,’ so we had to bring that to her hair.”
The ‘Juice’ hitmaker always has an “idea” for what look she wants to wear for an event, and the hair guru insisted that they always “play” with her locks to make sure they get it perfect.
She added: “Lizzo normally tells me an idea and I always run with it, like ‘Shelby, I wanna wear all wood grain!’ So I’m like, ‘Well then, let’s paint your hair wood grain too!’ We like to play.”

Sheridan Smith is proud of her figure

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheridan Smith celebrates her body being “weeble-shaped”.
The 37-year-old actress insists she is happy with her fuller figure even though she’s aware that she is not the “perfect shape and size”, and the star has compared herself to the popular 1970s egg-shaped children toys, which don’t fall over, because despite her “problems” she has always remained strong and picked herself back up.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine, she said: “Kids [today] have too much pressure for everything to be perfect, but it isn’t. We all have problems, none of us are the perfect shape and size.
“The other day I read somewhere about everybody needing to be Barbie-shaped or something. Give me a break! What’s wrong with being like me? Weeble-shaped! That’s right. I am a Weeble.”
And the ‘Cilla’ star is set to tie the knot with insurance broker Jamie Horn – whom she met on dating app Tinder last year – and after a hellish couple of years following the death of her father Colin Smith in December 2016, the actress-and-singer finally has her life back on track.
However, it’s hard for her not to forget going into “self-destructing” mode two years ago, when she got numerous tattoos because she thought she wouldn’t ever get work in theatre or acting again after she had an emotional breakdown.
She said: “The reason I went out and got all these tattoos two years ago was because I thought no one was ever going to give me a job again. I wanted to plaster myself in tattoos that meant something to me, but also that I thought meant I would never be employed again because you are not meant to have body markings in the theatre.
“It was my way of self-destructing but giving myself a reason for it. My mum went berserk at me.”

The 28-year-old actress has teamed up with the ‘Mamma Mia!’ star to celebrate the Italian fashion house’s most iconic handbag to date, the Fendi baguette, for their new #BaguetteFriendsForever campaign, and the pair think it was a natural choice to appear in the project together because they were able to mix “work and friendship”.
Emma said: “Amanda and I had the best time at the Fendi event in NY. We hadn’t seen each other in a while and we just laughed and caught up.
“Amanda is so funny and has a contagious energy about her. Anytime you can mix work and friendship, it’s a win.”
Amanda told ELLE India: “It was great to work together with Emma on this Fendi project because she’s herself, easy to connect with, madly funny, bold and no-nonsense.”

She added: “For me Fendi means exquisite, tailored and it represents the Italian craftsmanship. The Baguette bag is soft and can play as both casual and cocktail.
“It’s a perfect bag for everyone because it comes in all kinds of sizes, colours and materials.”

Claudia Schiffer hails late Karl Lagerfeld ‘creative process’

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Schiffer says it was “overwhelming” to watch Karl Lagerfeld’s “creative process”.
The 48-year-old German supermodel praised the late fashion designer – who passed away on February 19 at the age of 85 – and likened the “creative genius” to classical composer Mozart because his “incredible abilities came naturally”.
She said: “When I think of my relationship with Karl I feel very privileged and lucky. It was overwhelming to watch his creative process and the way it was all organised to perfection.
“He loved his work just as other people loved their holidays. And he was a creative genius to whom, like Mozart, incredible abilities just came naturally.”
And Claudia recalled her favourite memories of working with the Chanel creative director, including her first campaign with him.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “I’ll never forget driving to Deauville to shoot my first Chanel campaign photographed by Karl. I remember us bonding over the fact that we were the only two people full of energy at 3am.
“In his case, he was always full of energy; I was just full of adrenaline, loving every second of working with him. He knew how to have fun and make others smile.
“For instance, on another campaign shoot we went to Vienna and I remember Karl dancing the waltz – perfectly in front of us, laughing; this remains my favourite memory of him.”
The blonde beauty felt Karl was her very own “magic dust” because he transformed her modelling career and “taught” her everything she knows about the industry.
She added: “Karl was my magic dust. He transformed me from a shy girl into a supermodel. He taught me about fashion, style and survival.
“He was the only person who could make black and white colourful. And I will be eternally grateful to him.”

Naomi Campbell to be honoured was ‘Icon’ at 2019 British Fashion Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell will be honoured with the Fashion Icon accolade at the 2019 British Fashion Awards.
The 49-year-old supermodel recently celebrated 30 years of working in the industry and she has now been unveiled as the recipient of the British Fashion Council’s (BFC) 2019 honour in recognition of her contribution to the industry, her impressive career and philanthropic work.
And Naomi – who became the first black British model to appear on the cover of British Vogue in 1987 and the first black model to appear on the cover of French Vogue a year later – feels “blessed” to be awarded the prestigious accolade, which was previously awarded to Donatella Versace in 2017, because an icon is someone she believes has a “special aura”.
She told British Vogue: “This is a very emotional award to me, I feel blessed and humble.
“I would say an icon is someone who has a special aura, but also a presence and wisdom.
“I have always strived to give people from all backgrounds, all colour and cultures, courage through my words and my actions.”
The British Fashion Council’s chief executive, Caroline Rush, explained Naomi was chosen to receive the award later this year because she has always “contributed through her career to change for the better”.
Caroline told British Vogue: “Naomi has made an incredible contribution to the fashion industry throughout her career as a supermodel, as well as through her global philanthropist work with charities and incredible fundraising efforts for a more diverse and equal future, especially in Africa.
“Naomi is an incredible ambassador for Africa, building bridges between nations and putting African designers at the forefront of the global fashion community through events such as ARISE Fashion Week in Lagos. She is an inspiration to many of us and has contributed through her career to change for the better.”
Following the announcement, Naomi appeared on BBC’s ‘Newsnight’ and while she thinks there is increasingly more diversity in areas of the fashion industry, it is still a “big deal” to see a woman of colour on a magazine cover when it “shouldn’t be” that way.
She told the programme: “It’s amazing to see this diversity that’s happening on the runways and in magazine covers.
“To see more than one woman of colour on magazine cover is a big deal but it really shouldn’t be. It’s not a trend and people shouldn’t feel if they don’t use diversity, they’re not doing what’s right.”
The annual British Fashion Awards will take place on 2 December at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Chrissy Teigen’s sensitive skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen’s skin has got “more sensitive” since she had children.
The ‘Lip Sync Battle’ star – who has three-year-old Luna and Miles, 13 months, with husband John Legend – has had to change her skincare routine since becoming a parent because the products and treatments she used to use aren’t suitable anymore.
Chrissy – who is the new spokesperson for Foreo’s Luna 3 cleansing device – said: “I’m sure a lot of moms can relate, but I think my skin-care routine has changed because my skin has changed.
“After you give birth, something unexplainable happens to your skin.
“My skin never used to be as sensitive as it is now; I used to go to town on chemical peels and extractions.
“But it’s why I love the Luna 3. It keeps my skin glowing and healthy, and it is accommodating to my skin type.”
The 33-year-old star has also changed her routine as she needs to be much quicker in order to juggle her kids’ needs.
She added to Refinery29: “Now, I pretty much live make-up free if I’m going to lunch or picking up the kids.
“My entire routine needs to be quick. I wash my face in the shower, brush my teeth in the shower, and I am on the go.”
But if she does have some spare time, Chrissy likes to have a “super indulgent” blood facial, but insists it doesn’t have to be a very frequent process.
She said: “One super indulgent thing I do is PRP blood facials with Dr. Jason Diamond. They are nice, but it doesn’t need to be a day-to-day part of my routine. It’s important to have a regular routine that’s not that aggressive or harsh on the skin.”

Rihanna has curvy mannequins at Fenty pop-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna unveiled curvaceous mannequins at her Fenty pop-up in New York City.
The 31-year-old R&B superstar – whose real name is Robyn Fenty – has just launched her own eponymous luxury fashion line with French luxury conglomerate LVMH (Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton), and her new pop-up store in New York City has plastic models which boast “hip dips” and protruding tummies.
The move by Rihanna to include the realistic mannequins is in keeping with the ‘Work’ hitmaker’s commitment to make the range size-inclusive and has prompted a hugely positive reaction from fans and visitors to the temporary store.
An image of one of the mannequins was uploaded to Twitter by the Rihanna News account (@TeamOfRihanna) and prompted a host of re-tweets and comments.
One user re-tweeted the post with the comment: “This is the first time I’ve seen a mannequin with hip dips and a tummy. This is the first time I’ve seen a mannequin that has a body type similar to mine and I am FEELING THINGS. (sic)”
Another Fenty fan tweeted in response: “Wow this is really my shape!!! Love handles and no really hips but hip dips and thighs!!”
Rihanna had complete creative control over the range and ensured that all the pieces will work for a “curvy” body like her own.
She said: “We have our fit models, which is the standard size from factories, you just get your samples made in one size. But then, I want to see it on my body, I want to see it on a curvy girl with thighs and a little bit of booty and hips. And now I have boobs that I never had before … you know, I don’t even know how to sleep sometimes, it’s challenging, so imagine getting dressed.”
Rihanna – whose collection also includes footwear and accessories, such as sunglasses and jewellery – hopes that any woman will feel “confident” in her garments.
The singer said: “It’s all of these things I take into consideration because I want women to feel confident in my stuff.
“Whether it’s through fashion, lingerie, music, makeup … we try to get everybody involved and included in our brand.”

The 31-year-old reality TV star turned heads in a floor-length sparking red gown designed by Bryan Hearns – whose fans include Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B – at the annual ceremony held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and she took to Instagram to reveal that her look was “something between” the ‘Jolene’ hitmaker and Pamela Anderson as she switched up her signature brunette locks for a classic blonde beehive.
She captioned a photo of her outfit: “Something between Dolly and Pamela #BETAwards (sic)”
Chyna completed her stunning look with a red flower corsage to complete her hair style, platform Perspex heels and long pointed nails.
Other stars to walk the carpet with bold looks included Lizzo, Karrueche Tran, Lil Kim and Eva Marcille, who debuted her baby bump at the event in a lilac floor-length gown that accentuated her growing figure.

Edward Enninful: It was mesmerising to watch Karl Lagerfeld work

OHMYGOSSIP — Edward Enninful says it was “mesmerising” to watch Karl Lagerfeld “work”.
The 47-year-old British Vogue editor-in-chief has opened up about his relationship with the late Chanel creative director – who passed away in February this year at the age of 85 – and revealed that he was always in awe of the legendary designer because he “would see” every detail in his clothes with his “encyclopaedic mind”.
He said: “It was mesmerising to watch Karl work. His eye for detail was second to none; he would see everything. He was razor-sharp when it came to proportion, shape, texture, colour, detail – if a button on a cuff wasn’t right, then he would see it, when no one else would.
“Karl had an encyclopaedic mind; I would nod along, but would often have to go and research who the hell he was talking about – and it didn’t help that he used to talk so quickly, it was almost impossible to keep up with him.”
And Enninful insisted he always felt that he learnt something from Karl because he lasted so long in the fashion industry.
He told British Vogue: “Every time I left him, I felt as though I had been educated. He was so well-versed and cultured; he surrounded himself with great people and great minds. You can’t last as long as he did in this industry if you’re one-dimensional. It’s incredible to think he was at Chanel for 36 years.”
Enninful went on to praise the creative director for offering him so many “words of wisdom” over the years and admitted there “will never be another like him”.
He added: “Over the years, Karl offered me, both professionally and personally, so many words of wisdom. I went to see him when I got the editorship here at Vogue, and he told me, ‘Just do what you always do, that’s why you’re here, that’s why you got this job.’
“How simple was that? Karl was always there. But sadly, you often don’t realise how huge a person was in your life until they’re no longer around. There will never be another like him. We have lost one of the greats.”

Emily Ratajkowski: i was criticised about body growing up

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski was “ashamed” of her body when she was growing up because she “developed super young”.
The 28-year-old model-and-actress has amassed 23.2 million followers on Instagram thanks to her steady stream of images showing off her incredible figure and Emily uses her body to promote her fashion lines.
However, the ‘Gone Girl’ star was not so confident in her skin when she was a teenager and was often “criticised” for having a voluptuous body as a teenager.
She said: “I’m really about body positivity, for me I grew up and I developed super young. I was criticised at 13. I felt really ashamed of my body but I’ve come full circle, and now I’m like, ‘Do your thing!’ I really want young girls to see that and feel that way about themselves.”
And Emily designs her own lingerie and swimwear for her brand Inamorata and she admits she could extend her range and design swimming shorts for men that show “a little thigh”.
She told PEOPLE Now: “Soon. I always think about how for guys, there’s either the really long board shorts of the speedos. I want a little thigh, I want a peek-a-thigh, just a little coverage. Yeah, that’s my angle.”

Anna Wintour ‘loves’ flip-flops

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Wintour has given flip-flops her seal of approval.
The 69-year-old Vogue editor-in-chief has opened up about her style go-tos in a rare Q&A on Vogue’s YouTube channel, and surprisingly the fashion mogul revealed that she “loves” the summer sandal, even though she prefers people who are “dressed” smartly.
She said: “I love a flip-flop! Personally, I’m not too big a fan of casual. I prefer when someone errs on the side of dressed.
“There was a member of our team who turned up at the Met Gala recently without a tie and wearing a hat, and I’m not sure that I approved.”
Anna also revealed that she doesn’t often “wear a handbag” despite it being one of the go-to accessories.
She said: “To be honest, I rarely wear a handbag but I am told by my team here at Vogue that it’s all about the cross-body handbag.
“Which makes a lot of sense to me because it’s practical, hands-free. You can bicycle around Manhattan enjoying Central Park and they also come in every shape, size, fabrication, so that would be my tip for the season.”
The fashionista also insisted that she keeps her personal wardrobe simple and full of print dresses because it makes “decision making easier”.
Speaking in her ‘Go Ask Anna’ video series, she said: “I have a wardrobe full of print dresses so every morning I go to one of my print dresses of choice and put it on. It makes decision making a lot easier!”
Anna went on to reveal that she thinks the biggest misconception about fashion is that it is frivolous and she has praised Andrew Scott, the Head Curator of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, for treating clothes as items of “historical” significance.
She said: “I do think a misconception about women and because they love fashion, they might be frivolous and not someone to be taken seriously.
“What is so thrilling to me about working with Andrew Bolton at the Costume Institute and the Metropolitan Museum of Art is that he puts costume into a historical context that can shoe how important fashion is in being a reflection of our culture because I feel that helps explain to people that there is so much more to fashion than just what they see on the surface.”
The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute is the venue for the annual Met Gala.

Bella Thorne stopped washing her face to stop acne

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Thorne doesn’t wash her face in the morning to prevent cystic acne breakouts.
The 21-year-old actress has opened up about her life-long struggle with the skin condition, which results from blocked pores that cause infection and red bumps, and the star revealed that she used to “over-wash” her face, which caused her to get spots, but since ditching the ritual her skin has drastically improved.
She said: “I don’t wash my face in the morning because there’s a thing called ‘over-washing’ your face and when I had really bad acne that was one of the things I stopped and it actually helped me.”
And Bella insisted that she is creating her own skincare line after using a regime that “changed her life”.
She added: “My first-step is moisturiser. My skin has been a long time in the works, I don’t even know how many years I’ve had cystic acne but it started off with dermatitis and I tried basically everything you can think of, like burning it off with a vampire facials, every laser you can think of but then I met this woman that changed my life and now I’m recreating her product in my acne line.”
The ‘Midnight Sun’ star went on to reveal that because of her acne she will now do her own make-up when she is at home and on set.
She added: “The change in my skin has caused me to only ever do my own make-up, which is always a fun thing for me to get in contractually.”
Bella went on to reveal that she likes to keep her make-up look very “natural” and not look too perfect.
Speaking in a US Vogue Beauty Secrets YouTube tutorial, she said: “My mom changed my look a lot of the times when I was younger, I’ve seen photos of me with really barely any eyebrows, thicker eyebrows, with really light eyebrows, but how I like them now is pretty natural. I don’t like the whole perfection look, it doesn’t really work for me. Covering acne you need to dot and pat with concealer, not swipe.”
