OHMYGOSSIP — Felipe Oliveira Baptista has been named the new creative director of Kenzo.
LVMH have announced that the 44-year-old fashion designer will be taking over from Carol Lim and Humberto Leon as head of the French luxury fashion house, six days after the pair presented their final collection as co-creative directors of the brand.
Baptista recently stepped down from French clothing company Lacoste, where he served as creative director from 2010 to 2018 and will be taking the reins as head of Kenzo on July 1.

Suki Waterhouse uses light treatment

OHMYGOSSIP — Suki Waterhouse relies on light therapy to tackle “face bloat”.
The 27-year-old model-and-actress enjoys the “natural lift” the treatments give her and also thinks it’s important to have regular facials.
She said: “I just bought a little red and blue light therapy machine and I really enjoy CACI treatments [using LEDs and microcurrents].
“They just take away that face bloat and give you a natural lift.
“The best facials I have in London are by Theresa Tarmey and Yvonne Martin.
“I also like a hyaluronic facial at my dad’s clinic, Waterhouse Young.”
Not only does Suki know the importance of cleansing her face and taking her make-up off every evening, she can feel a difference if she rushes the process so has learned to take her time.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I follow the cleansing techniques of facialist Yvonne Martin.
“She taught me how to take off my make-up properly and I always notice a difference when I’m being lazy and just slap on a bit of cleanser.
“I really work my fingers in circular motions to get that dirt out and double cleanse, then I use a toner.
“After that, it’s all about hydration.
“I also use lip balm on my face to have that sheen of moisture, and I’ll slather on a night mask – there’s a really good one from Shiseido.”
And if she’s away from the usual products, the blonde beauty has a surprising alternative to take off her make-up.
Asked her best tips, she said: “I use HealGel around my eyes because I get quite red sometimes when I’m travelling so that evens out the redness.
“Sometimes I use olive oil for getting make-up off. It works wonders.”

Sam McKnight opens up about creating Princess Diana’s iconic hairstyle

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam McKnight says he had no idea “impact” it would have when he cut Princess Diana’s hair short.
The 64-year-old hairstylist chopped off the Princess of Wales’ locks after shooting her for a 1991 British Vogue cover – where he used hair clips to make her hair appear shorter – and confessed that he “didn’t realise” her change in hairstyle would become so “iconic”.
Writing for Vogue Australia, he said: “For that now iconic shoot, I styled her hair so it appeared short for the picture. Afterwards she asked: ‘What would you do if I gave you free reign?’ and I replied: “I’d just cut it all off.”
“Her hair was fabulous, but it was time for a change, and I think she felt that, too. So she said: ‘Okay, do you want to do it now?’ So I did.
“I had been shooting for Vogue for 13 years by then, so I wasn’t nervous to cut her hair. I rarely read the British papers, because I wasn’t in London very often, so I didn’t realise the impact that haircut would have.
“It was July and I had left to shoot in Paris when I was inundated with phone calls about Diana’s hair. By then I realised that the change had caused quite an impact.”
McKnight went on to explain that her choice of hairstyle was more about “practicality” than fashion and insisted that the royal looked good whatever the circumstance.
He said: “Diana was secure in how she looked, because she looked great. To be quite honest, she looked beautiful coming out of the gym with wet hair in the morning.
“It wasn’t about having some hairstyle that she couldn’t get in the wind or anything like that – for her it was about practicality.”

She added: “My brand is really about designing for myself and my family. My mother (Helen Williams) will be 80 in December, I have a 32-year-old, a 30-year-old and 19-year-old daughter so I always kind of envision what they would like and have at least one piece [in the collection].”

Jorja Smith wanted Glastonbury make-up to be ‘natural’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorja Smith wanted her Glastonbury Festival 2019 make-up to look “natural” and “complement” her outfit.
The 22-year-old R&B singer – who was recently named Dior’s new make-up ambassador – made her debut at Worthy Farm last weekend (29.06.19), and the star worked with her go-to beauty guru Carol Lopez Reid to create a “soft” and “minimal” look that would work with her brightly coloured sequinned jumpsuit and big hair.
Carol said: “Her outfit was bold and her hair was big, so to create balance we went with a look that’s defining and fresh, with colours that would complement the whole look and her complexion.
“Glastonbury is a huge show so she wanted to feel like herself. Her signature look is fresh and glowy, she doesn’t like anything too harsh or heavy. We blend and buff products into her skin so it’s all soft and has no harsh edges.
“She loves minimal make-up looks, that enhance her natural beauty and amazing skin.”
And the A-List make-up artist went on to admit that Jorja wanted a beauty look that would “emphasise” her “glowing skin” on stage.
She told British Vogue: “Jorja wanted something soft and defining, a neutral look that complimented her bold outfit and emphasised her glowing skin.”
Carol also broke down a few of the products she used to keep Jorja looking flawless under the stage lights.
She added: “We use powders to knock back shine under eyes, around the nose and in between the brows, which could make Jorja look oily on camera.
“Sometimes I’ll add a bit of the Dior Capture Youth Glow Booster Age-Delay Illuminating Serum on a wet beauty blender over the highlights too, so that it’s really popping under the lights. We need to use products that are smudge proof and long lasting.”

And the ‘Blue Crush’ star explained that her latest fashion love is her new Chloe bag, which she is the “first to own” in the world.
She added: “My new Chloé bag! It’s the most beautiful baby shade of blue/dove grey. The newest nod to the original Paddington lock bag – from early 2000s – and if you believe rumours, I’m the first to own it in the world.”

She told Vogue Australia: “I think specifically on the place and what the event reflects.”
And Kate opened up about what it’s like to be a woman in Hollywood and insisted she feels less “vulnerable” than ever before.
She said: “You’ve got to ask me on the day. Today I feel great. But in general, I think there’s a lot of relief from a lot of women in my industry. I really adore the support that’s genuine.
“I feel less vulnerable because I think we all felt like we were on our own – we were all in the same building, but each in rooms with the door closed. And now the doors are thrust open.
“There’s a lot of strength and empowerment that comes from that. But there’s a film that I’m thinking about doing right now, that I was offered three times less than the male. Same exact amount of work. And I drew a line.”

Zendaya to front Lancome’s new fragrance

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya is the face of Lancome’s new feminine fragrance.
The 22-year-old actress was named as the global ambassador for the prestigious French cosmetics brand back in February, and she’s now set to star in a campaign for their newest perfume called Idole, which hits shelves on August 22.
Zendaya connected with the fragrance as she says scents are “instantly hooked up to feelings”, and believes certain smells can trigger “recollections” of familiar people or locations.
Speaking to WWD, the ‘Euphoria’ actress said: “I guess you could say I’m growing up, and I feel like I’m coming into my adulthood.
“I really feel like scents are instantly hooked up to feelings and are instantly hooked up to recollections. I don’t know what perfume my grandmother wears, however I can odour it anyplace. If I smelled someone with my grandma’s fragrance I’d be like, ‘That’s my grandmother’s perfume. You smell like my grandma.’
“However in a great way, as a result, that’s the odour I’ve grown up with and it appears like residence for me.”
The ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ star also collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger earlier this year for their exclusive Spring 2019 TommyXZendaya range, and said the collection – which is available from size 4 to 24 – was designed to make “every woman feel confident”.
She explained: “For me, it was about finding something that resonates with my fashion soul, which is this era [the 70’s], a period I’ve always been obsessed with.
“That [A curve size range] was super important. If all the women in my family can’t enjoy it, what’s the point? It’s about diversity and inclusion. I want every woman to feel confident , like they can go out and get something for themselves.”

Khloe Kardashian is ‘proud’ of her body

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian is “proud” of her body following the birth of her daughter.
The 35-year-old reality star gave birth to daughter True – whom she has with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson – 14 months ago, and has said she’s pleased with the way she approached postpartum fitness and regained her toned physique.
She said: “In my head I felt like I would push the baby out and then I’ll be skinny again. Then you get home from the hospital and you’re like, ‘What?’ It’s a big shock.
“As soon as I got clearance from my doctor, I was [in the gym]. I was so excited to start working out again. Mentally I was there. But physically, I couldn’t do it. I was out of breath. I didn’t know how I was going to get to my end goal.
“I took it really slow. I did it day by day. If I could get through that workout, I did. But you’re not going to get it back in a day.”
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star learned to accept the way she looked as she was working on shedding her baby weight, and says she was “proud” of the way she managed not to be so “hard” on herself.
She added: “I was really proud of myself for not being as hard on myself. On Kylie’s 21st birthday I was in a crop top and high-waisted pants. I wasn’t at my thinnest at all, but I was so proud for getting to where I was at that time. I was like, ‘I’m going to show this off!’ ”
Now, Khloe has her body back and has said her biggest tips for other new mothers is to “be kind” to themselves and “learn how to balance” everything.
The ‘Revenge Body’ star told People magazine: “It took nine months to gain the weight, give yourself at least a year to take it off. You have to adjust. And you’re juggling with a baby and your life and trying to do those moments that are about you. You have to be kind and learn how to balance it all.”

Naomi Campbell: I’m not an icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell doesn’t think of herself as a fashion icon.
The 49-year-old supermodel has been named the winner of the Fashion Icon Award at the 2019 Fashion Awards, but has said that whilst the title is “an honour”, she’s never really considered herself to be an icon.
Asked if she thinks of herself as an icon, she said: “No, I don’t. I don’t. I’ve never seen myself as a supermodel, either. It’s just labels. But it’s an honour to have this label. I think the word icon just means you’ve put in your time, put in your years or decades, basically.”
Naomi has been in the industry for several decades, but says she’s never had a “strategy” when it comes to her work, and says her biggest tip is just to make sure people “take time out” for themselves.
She added: “I don’t have a strategy. I would work, and then I would not work. You’d see me, and then I’d disappear and do something else and come back. That’s how I’ve basically kept … That’s been the way of my path. I would never quit, I would just take time out. And I think you have to take time out for yourself in life, period, you have to go and do the things you want to do.”
The beauty turns 50 this year, and is “looking forward” to reaching the milestone.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: “I’m so embracing of it. I can’t wait. I’m not scared, I can’t wait. I’m so … I tell people I’m 49 and they look at me and don’t believe it. I feel good, and people say to me ‘Why do you say your age when you don’t look it?’ and I’m like ‘Well, you can Google me so there’s not point [in lying]’. I’ve never been a believer of trying to change the digits. But no, I can’t wait to embrace … to get to my milestone of 50. I’m looking forward to it.”

Patrick Ta uses ICONIC Brow Silk to perfect Gigi and Bella Hadid’s eyebrows

OHMYGOSSIP — Patrick Ta uses ICONIC’s new Brow Silk to achieve Gigi and Bella Hadid’s minimalist brow look.
The model sisters are known for their arches, and now, celebrity make-up artist Patrick Ta – who is also behind the brows of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Ariana Grande, the Kardashians – has said he uses the new ICONIC Brow Silk to achieve the flawless looks.
The new product – which is the first of its kind – takes an old Hollywood trick of using soap to set brows in place, but instead uses a unique balm-like texture that combines the benefits of brow soaps and gels.
Speaking about the product in a press release, Patrick said: “I think what’s really cool is that there is a conditioning benefit in the Brow Silk that no others on the market have meaning this product ensures your brows stay soft and luscious while using the product and even once it’s removed!”
The make-up artist says the best way to apply the product – which is designed to give plumped up, lifted and naturally fluffy-looking brows – is to pre-fill the brows where needed and then apply Brow Silk on top.
He said: “My favourite way to use the Brow Silk is to pre fill in the eyebrows where needed coverage may be then wet the product with a spray of your choice, take a brow comb lightly coat the product and brush through the brows brushing up and out to create the perfect shape, I then take the back of the brush and push the product into the brows to set the Brow Silk.”
And Patrick loves ICONIC’s Brow Silk because it doesn’t “transfer” in the same way the old soap trick might.
He added: “Soap has a tendency to pick up and move product that has been applied underneath and can sometimes cast a grey shadow above the brow from product transfer. With Brow Silk there’s no more of that! Set it and totally forget it! I love the finish of the product because it doesn’t cast a sheen as a traditional soap would do, better yet it keeps it very natural looking!”
ICONIC’s Brow Silk launches worldwide on Friday (28.06.19) and is available to buy at https://www.iconiclondoninc.com/products/brow-silk

Lucy Hale wants to try vaginal steaming

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Hale is keen to try vaginal steaming.
The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star has said she’s “so about” the natural remedy – which is believed to cleanse the vagina and uterus, regulate menstruation, and ease period cramps and bloating – and although she’s never tried it, she thinks it “sounds great” and is eager to give it a go.
Asked if she has a stance on the technique, she said: “Oh, my god, I’m so about that. I want to try this. They offer it at a place downtown, and I’m not really sure what the benefits are. It just sounds really relaxing. I’m going to grab a girlfriend and we’re going to go and get our vags steamed. Sounds great!”
The 30-year-old actress starts her day with meditation, and says it helps her “start her day off right”.
She said: “I’m new to meditating. I don’t know why I started so late in the game, but it’s so important. I try to start my day with at least five minutes of silence. You can use an app: I have an app called Headspace that has guided meditation. But, honestly, even just sitting alone, focusing on breathing, and kickstarting your day that way – if you do that consistently, I felt a change. It helps me start my day off right.”
And Lucy is also a fan of acupuncture, although she’s only done it once and is keen to go through the treatment process again.
Speaking to W magazine, she said: “I haven’t tried cupping, mainly because I can’t commit to having those circles on my back for a week at a time. I need to do it when I have time off. I’ve done facial acupuncture and regular acupuncture, but not enough to see the benefits. I’ve only done it once, but I know people who swear by it who’ve had chronic pain and health issues. They’ve done acupuncture and they’ve completely turned their lives around, so I’m a believer in that for sure.”

She said: “Everyone loved the first collection, which was years ago, so why not come again? It’s a win-win for both of us.
“It’s more of a going out collection, something with a lot of personality to where if you maybe aren’t feeling like going out, but then you have that bomb outfit, it’s going to inspire you.
“And there’s a lot of different selection for all different types of girls and different body types.”
The collection will feature an assortment of women’s ready-to-wear styles including colourful blazers, chic jumpsuits, matching two-piece sets, and high slit dresses. The garments will be available in sizes 6-28 and retail between £8 – £40.
Jordyn co-designed the 60-piece collection designed to make every girl feel confident and empowered from day to night, and she insisted that she included summery colours because she wanted to try “something new” and get out of her creative comfort zone.

“My favourite colour was black, but right now I’m really into the hot pink and emeralds.”
Jordyn went on to explain that her fans need to “dream big” if they want to “make something happen”.
She continued: “It’s important to dream big because nothing is impossible and you have to understand that no matter where you come from, whether you start here or you start here, we all have the same amount of hours in the day.

Irina Shayk: I always get nine hours sleep before events

OHMYGOSSIP — Irina Shayk always makes sure she has “nine hours sleep” before an event to keep her skin looking “radiant”.
The 33-year-old Russian model – who has two-year-old daughter Lea De Seine with ex-partner Bradley Cooper – has revealed that the secret to perfecting her glowy look before hitting the runway is to go to bed early and hit the gym and sauna.
She said: “The key to the perfect look is enough sleep. I try to sleep at least nine hours before an important event.
“When I wake up I like to go to the gym and to a steam room – it gives me great energy and makes skin look perfect. For the red carpet I prefer to wear minimum make-up – I love a natural radiant look.”
The striking brunette – who has recently been named the face of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Scandal A Paris fragrance – also insisted that she loves perfumes that are “light” and “elegant” because it “completes” her beauty ritual.
She added: “I can say that perfume is an important part of my life. I have a very simple beauty routine and I think that the fragrance is the final touch that completes the look but does not overtake your personality.
“Once you find your signature perfume it stays with you for years, and I guess I found mine. That’s why Scandal A Paris is very special for me — it makes me feel confident and stays with me the whole day. I am not a big fan of perfumes that travel in front of you like a big heavy cloud, I love perfumes that are light, elegant, flirty, and stay close to my skin.”
Irina – who was aged 18 when she won the Miss Chelyabinsk beauty contest in 2004 and was later signed to a modelling agency – explained she has had to work hard to “achieve” success because it didn’t happen overnight.
She told Vogue Australia: “The beginning of my career was pretty tough. I started quite late – when I was 19 – and my first model trip was to Paris.
“It was a difficult but very intense time – I had to learn how to work as a model, learn English, learn how to pose… But in life nothing comes easy and you have to work hard to achieve something.”
And the star insisted that she finds a “balance” between going to the gym and eating healthy food.
She continued: “I don’t believe in diets, I think food is an important part of one’s life and it makes a person happy, so I find a balance between eating and working out. I like to do Pilates [reformer], work out with my trainer and walk a lot.”

Cardi B wants to leave own ‘mark in fashion’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B wants to leave her own “mark in fashion”.
The 26-year-old rapper is known for her bold and vivacious red carpet looks and her long-time stylist, Kollin Carter – who worked with her before she shot to fame in 2017 with hit single ‘Bodak Yellow’ – has revealed her client has “no ego” and will work with her favourite go-to designer’s alongside up-and-coming brand’s to showcase their work.
He said: “I feel like it’s one of those things where we really understand one another. And sometimes I’ll push a bit or she’ll push when it comes to ideas, like, she’ll be down to do something but maybe a little hesitant or, like, she’ll bring something to me, like, I wanna do this and it’s like, ‘Uh, I don’t know, I don’t think we should do that.’
“And then you know, vice versa. It’s one of those things where it’s really like a conversation with no ego and it’s an honest conversation.”
The stylist added how the ‘Please Me’ hitmaker turns to “history” for inspiration.
He continued: “We pull from a lot of things we’ve been inspired by in the past, the history of fashion.
“The collaboration process is really easy when it comes to her. We have our go-to designers, but we also love working with new designers, big or small, it doesn’t matter. Our collaboration processes are really fun and free because she allows everything to happen the way that it needs to, to create some kind of evolution or to leave a mark in fashion.”
And the fashion guru insisted that his favourite look to date is Cardi’s vintage 1995-96 Thierry Mugler couture look, which featured a pink duchess satin and black velvet ‘Venus’ sheath dress and embellished bodysuit, and Kollin insisted it was one of the pair’s biggest “fashion moments” to date.
He added to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I would have to say the Met for me and also the Mugler moment. That was really a big moment for me, like I spoke about last night, [I was] Googling high-fashion editorials years ago when I was a young teenager.
“Just seeing like Helmut Newton pop up and a lot of his references meant full circle, realizing in my early 20s like, oh wow, this is Mugler who, you know, in all of these Helmut Newton editorials, they did a lot of work together.”

Shay Mitchell’s foundation shade struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Shay Mitchell used to struggle to find a foundation shade suitable for “darker complexions”.
The 32-year-old actress – who has Ariana Grande’s make-up guru Patrick Ta in her glam squad now – would have no choicest to create her own “concoction” of dark and light colours to match her skin’s shade before make-up became more inclusive and diverse.
She said: “I scout most of my glam squad on Instagram. Actually, I first saw Patrick Ta’s work on Instagram, and we had a trial where he came and did my makeup for a job. Now I joke with Patrick: I’m like, ‘I started you.’ I’m kidding, but not.
“For me, getting ready for any event, most of the time is more fun than the actual event.
“Being able to work with a team I feel comfortable with is huge.
“Back in the day, when I didn’t have a choice, it was a little bit more difficult. I have a darker complexion, and I had trouble finding concealers and foundations that worked for me. I would make up my own concoction and take the dark-pigmented stuff and mix it with lighter ones to get my shade.
“Now there are more options, and I’m working with the best of the best, so I’m not scared to try new things.”
The former ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star also revealed she uses wigs to experiment with different colours on her brown locks because she refuses to colour her hair.
She told Allure: “I don’t colour my hair — that’s where wigs come in. I dyed my hair platinum, and it just wasn’t a good look. My hair broke off and went brassy really quickly.
“It took a long time to get back to normal. But I do think I’m more experimental now than I was back in my 20s. Now I’m just like, ‘Why not? It’s just makeup. You can take it off.”
The ‘You’ star also insisted that skincare is her “number one thing”, and she will often take “at-home beauty spa days” to “steam her face” and use natural oils to help keep her complexion flawless.
