Leighton Meester designs Matilda-inspired fashion line

OHMYGOSSIP — Leighton Meester has designed her own fashion collection based on the ‘Matilda’ character Miss Honey.
The 33-year-old actress – who has three-year-old Arlo with her husband Adam Brody – has created her own range of garments in collaboration with the sustainable Los Angeles-based label, Christy Dawn, and the star has revealed she wanted her line to be an “updated version” of the beloved school teacher’s (Embeth Davidtz) “sweet” style from the 1996 Roald Dahl film adaptation.
She said: “I thought an updated version of her really sweet, relaxed but put-together ’90s style would be cool.
“I wanted it to be simple and easy for anybody to wear.
“I kind of just pictured what I’d actually be wearing it to – to the playground with my kid, to the beach, to a baby shower or birthday party or to dinner at a nicer restaurant, which doesn’t happen quite as much these days! I’ve been wearing it nonstop and really enjoying it.”
And Leighton – who is best known for playing her fashionista alter ego Blair Waldorf on ‘Gossip Girl’ – wanted her stylish range to be “easy and comfortable” and based it on her own wardrobe needs.
She added: “The older I get, and the older my kid gets, I’ve realised that comfort is the number one thing that’s important to me.
“But a lot of the time, because I’m so concerned with having an outfit be easy and comfortable, style tends to take a back seat.”
The ‘Single Parents’ star insisted that the first thing she wanted to create was a jumpsuit because it’s a go-to in her own wardrobe.
She told Page Six Style: “The first time I went down and got to meet Christy was about a year ago; pretty much right away, we started talking about making a jumper.
“Because that’s really my go-to, and I always am looking for the perfect one and had yet to find it — until now.”

Cat Deeley looks like a ‘mushroom’ with short hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Cat Deeley looks like a “mushroom” when she has short hair.
The 42-year-old television presenter – who has Milo, three, and 12-month-old James with her husband Patrick Kielty – keeps her hair “ridiculously” long because she prefers the way she looks that way, and joked it’s also “incredibly useful” for hiding toddler stains on her clothes.
She said: “My hair is ridiculously thick and curly, and if I cut it I look like a mushroom.
“Plus it’s incredibly useful. I’ll run out of the house and notice baby food on my shoulder and I’ll just fling my hair across it and no one can see.”
Cat went on to crack America following a successful presenting career in the UK, and began hosting ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2006, which she has been nominated five times for a Primetime Emmy, and the star admitted she refused point-blank to have cosmetic surgery on her nose when she first got the job.
She added: “I remember initially feeling quite taken aback that all these people were going on about my nose, which I’d always thought was perfectly acceptable.
“And then I thought, ‘This is my nose. It’s got a bit of a bend in it. Get over it.'”
And the striking blonde went on to reveal that since she has become a mother to her two tots, they have become her priority and “nothing else matters so much”.
She told The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine: “I was so ambitious in my 20s and early 30s, and then you become a mum and nothing matters so much. Not that I don’t still love working. I do.
“And I make sure my kids know that. If I’m leaving the house and Milo moans I will say, ‘Mummy is going to work because she loves you, but she also loves what she does, and me and Daddy both have to work, so you boys can have things you want, like the truck in the toy shop.'”

Stella McCartney: Being sustainable is a challenge

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney wants to show other fashion houses how to be “respectful” when manufacturing garments.
The 47-year-old fashion designer – who is known for being sustainable and using alternatives to leather, fur and PVC when it comes to producing her clothes – wants to stand “shoulder to shoulder” with other fashion houses even though she admitted her way of working can be challenging.
She said: “It’s my intention to stand shoulder to shoulder with the conventional houses and show that you can actually be respectful in your supply chain and manufacture.
“No. It’s not like I go, ‘Oh, I’m not going to use PVC because the challenge will make me more creative.’ It’s like, ‘Well, that f**king sucks, and I’ve also only got three sequins that I can use in two colourways as opposed to 5,000 that everyone else will use.’
“If everyone else was sustainable, we could have a level playing field, so it does feel unfair – but it’s my choice and I believe very much in my reasons for working in that way. You know what? It’s not like I’m here for an easy life.”
Stella took 10 years to find a clear alternative to PVC for footwear, and the star insisted that the innovations are purely “consumer-driven”.
She told The Observer magazine: “They say [PVC] it’s cancerous to the people who work with it, and then the residue runs into the rivers because the factories are built on rivers.”
“These recent changes are consumer-driven. I don’t think our industry would be doing that if the customers weren’t demanding it.”
The fashion guru also admitted she doesn’t like “dry cleaning or any cleaning” of her clothes and is careful about what she washes.
Speaking about her three years on Saville Row studying tailoring, she added: “I was the only girl who had ever been in the room. I was there for three years and I barely learned how to set a sleeve head in a sleeve. It’s like architecture. It’s amazing.
“And the rule on a bespoke suit is you do not clean it. You do not touch it. You let the dirt dry and you brush it off. Basically, in life, rule of thumb: if you don’t absolutely have to clean anything, don’t clean it. I wouldn’t change my bra every day and I don’t just chuck stuff into a washing machine because it’s been worn. I am incredibly hygienic myself, but I’m not a fan of dry cleaning or any cleaning, really.”

Jasmine Tookes uses her mother as her stylist

OHMYGOSSIP — Jasmine Tookes has praised her mother for being an “amazing” stylist and admits she has now enlisted her help to dress her.
Before becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel Jasmine used to assist her mother Cary Robinson in her work dressing celebrities, and now the 28-year-old model has started using Cary to dress her for special events.
Jasmine – who has also worked with fashion houses such as Calvin Klein and Prada – admits it is wonderful working with her mother Cary because she understands what works well for her daughter and they also have a very honest relationship which means she can say no to some styling ideas.
Jasmine said: “It’s really, really nice because I’m not afraid to say that I don’t like something. Sometimes when I work with another stylist, I don’t want to hurt their feelings if they have brought me options that I don’t like.
“My mom and me obviously have an amazing relationship – we’re like sisters – she knows my exact style; she knows what I’m going to like and what I don’t like and also she has a very classic style.”
Jasmine decided to enlist the help of Cary because they both have similar tastes in clothes that are “timeless”.
Speaking to Vogue Australia, the catwalk star said: “I’ve always wanted to keep my style very classic – I never want to look back at my photos when I’m older and be like, ‘Oh my gosh! What was I wearing?’ so I like to have a style that’s very timeless and I think that she really gets that.
“It’s just so much fun that she can come to my press days with me and she’s there. It’s just really great to have her around and I have a lot of fun with her styling me.”
The A-list stylist has also worked with Jasmine’s friends and fellow Angels Josephine Skriver and Sara Sampaio and they too are delighted with her work.
Jasmine shared: “She’s started styling some of the other Angels [too], so that becomes a lot more fun and my friends get to know my mom really well. It’s kind of like we’re all best friends with my mom.”

Zendaya: I say no to certain beauty standards

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya is in a place now where she can say “no” to certain beauty standards.
The 22-year-old actress is known for her flawless complexion when she is on and off camera, and the star has revealed that whilst she prefers a natural make-up look when she is off duty, she likes to be “in control” of her own face and not “change” it completely with different products.
She said: “[I wear little to no make-up when off-duty] but always SPF, you’ve gotta wear your SPF.
“I’m in a place in my life where I can say no. It’s one thing to get rid of a pimple, and another to completely change someone’s face. For me, it’s about how to be in control of that situation.”
Zendaya was named as the global ambassador for Lancome back in February, and she’s now set to star in a campaign for their newest perfume called Idole, which hits shelves on August 22.
She added: “I’m coming into a new phase in my career, my adulthood, womanhood and maturity.
“I’m stepping on to a new level and it felt like working with Lancôme was the perfect way to show that.”
The ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ star has also said she’s flattered people believe she is actively campaigning to bring political or social change, but disagrees and says “she can do better” and there are other people who are more deserving of the praise.
She told ELLE UK: “I would say I’m just a good person trying to do the right thing. A lot of other people are doing the hard work, going out on to the streets. Those people are the activists. I just want to support them.
“I appreciate being called [an activist], but I can do better. Like everyone else. I can work harder and do more to earn that title.”

Dacre Montgomery’s Stranger Things character influenced by his own style

OHMYGOSSIP — Dacre Montgomery took elements of his own style to add to his ‘Stranger Things’ character Billy Hargrove.
The 24-year-old actor stars as the fashion forward stepbrother of new kid Max (Sadie Sink) in the Netflix drama, and has said that whilst most elements of his look – including his curly mullet and single drop earring – were inspired by classic 80s fashion, some touches, such as the Saint Christopher necklace he always wears, were taken from Dacre’s own wardrobe.
He said: “I’ve been very fortunate to have a stylish character. I wear the same Saint Christopher necklace around my neck, and we got that idea [from me] coming into the wardrobe department – they had a necklace from the 1980s that just replaced my own. And I usually wear a tank top under my shirts like Billy does. But yeah, everything down to the earring and leather jacket – he’s very stylish.”
‘Stranger Things’ recently paired up with clothing store H&M to recreate some pieces from the third season of the show, including Billy’s bright red lifeguard swimsuit.
Dacre said of the collaboration: “It was just nice to be part of that. And also, like, it’s not me, it’s Billy, you know what I mean? So, it’s kind of slightly removed in that respect, and it was nice to have that component to my character added in.”
But despite Billy’s fashionable outfits, Dacre says the character’s sexiest look was cut from the show, after the scenes were included in the final episodes.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, he said: “There was this grey, Everlast midriff shirt that was initially paired with the lifeguard shorts that almost made the cut. It was an amazing shirt. There’s a photo of Rob Lowe wearing it in the 1980s. At first, I was really hesitant, but then it looked awesome. It literally was a midriff that came only a couple of inches below my nipple line. And it had long sleeves, and was made of sweat material with an Everlast logo. I thought that was kind of cool.”

Anna Wintour can’t go shopping

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Wintour can’t go shopping anymore because people always want to take selfies with her.
The 69-year-old fashion icon – who has been editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988 – admits she “used to love” going shopping for make-up and clothes, but says she can no longer enjoy the pastime because people have become “obsessed” with taking selfies with her.
When asked if she still goes shopping, she lamented: “Unfortunately, shopping – which is something that I used to love – has been slightly ruined for me by people wanting to take selfies. So … it has become a national obsession, and if you are in the make-up department thinking about which shade of rust lipstick you might want to be buying that particular day and someone is thrusting their camera right in front of you, it slightly destroys the moment.”
Anna also spoke about what she looks for in young designers, which included talent, drive, and an ability to listen.
She said: “First and foremost you look for talent, but you look for drive, you look for someone who is very focused on what their narrative is and what their point of view is. But also for someone who is willing to listen and to learn and to be open to the world around him or her, and someone who is not as concerned by looking to the left and to the right to see what other people might be doing. They have to be open to the world but be very sure of their point of view.”
And whilst the journalist doesn’t think fashion school is a necessity, she does believe it’s a good idea for those wanting to get into the industry.
Speaking on her YouTube series ‘Go Ask Anna’, she said: “I think it’s a great help and a wonderful experience to go to fashion school, but there are examples of designers that have not done that. Karl Lagerfeld being a prime example. But I think they are few and far between. I think if it’s the career you’re thinking about, you should choose school.”

Cardi B’s ‘stunning’ Met Gala look

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B’s 2019 Met Gala dress was “stunning” – according to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The ‘I Like It’ rapper wore an enormous red gown to the annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in May, and Anna – whose Vogue magazine organises the event – has now said she thought Cardi “looked so fantastic” in the extravagant piece.
Speaking in her YouTube series ‘Go Ask Anna’, she said: “I was completely in awe of the stunning dress that Cardi B wore to the Met this year. She looked unbelievable. It was designed by Thom Browne. She could barely move, but it made no difference. People parted like the queen coming through because she looked so fantastic.
“I had not seen her look as chic or as original beforehand. So I completely rethought my opinion of Cardi B’s style. She rocks.”
Meanwhile, Cardi’s stylist Kollin Carter – who has been dressing the 26-year-old rapper since before her hit single ‘Bodak Yellow’ catapulted her to stardom two years ago – recently admitted styling her look for the gala was one of his favourite looks so far.
Also referencing the Mugler dress she wore to the Grammy Awards, Kollin said: “I would have to say the Met for me and also the Mugler moment. That was really a big moment for me. Just seeing like Helmut Newton pop up and a lot of his references meant full circle, realising in my early 20s like, oh wow, this is Mugler who, you know, in all of these Helmut Newton editorials, they did a lot of work together.
“Just to have that full circle moment like, wow, I am going to Paris to look at the Mugler archives from 1995, like, I was five years old when it walked the runway. It was just a crazy, surreal moment for me like, wow, just kind of pinching myself. So I felt like that moment for me is kind of, like, burnt in my memory.”

Sadie Sink is ‘interested’ in fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Sadie Sink has “always been interested in fashion”.
The ‘Stranger Things’ actress shot a campaign for luxury accessory retailer Kate Spade earlier this year alongside Kiki Layne and Julia Garner, and has said she was stunned to see her face on the homepage of the company’s website because she’s been a fan of the brand since she was a little girl.
She said: “I’ve always been interested in fashion ever since I was little, and obviously I didn’t have access to the brands I do now. I’d always just look at Chanel and Kate Spade and think how incredible these brands were.
“To see that the campaign I did for Kate Spade is on the homepage, that’s insane. The number of times I’ve logged onto this website and just dreamed about all these clothes and now I’m in this campaign – I’m so blessed.”
The 17-year-old star also loves Rooney Mara’s vegan collection Hiraeth, as she says it “represents” her own style because there are elements of the brand that bring together various looks.
She explained: “It represents my style a lot because, like I said, I’m not defined by one style. Her collection is so feminine – there are a lot of flowy, beautiful pieces – and then she has all of these tough elements that she adds to it like leather harnesses that just toughen up the look a bit. That’s my favourite thing to wear, I like to combine styles. If I’m ever wearing a super-flowy dress, I like to toughen it up with a boot or something.”
Sadie says she’s not “defined by one style” and likes to experiment with her looks.
Speaking to Who What Wear, she said: “I don’t think I’m defined by one style. I’m not just edgy and I’m not just into a tomboy look and I’m not just girly. I do what I want, and if I like something, I’ll wear it.”

Zendaya ‘got scared’ when her battery powered Met Gala gown heated up

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya “got scared” when the battery powered ‘Cinderella’ gown she wore to the 2019 Met Gala “got really hot”.
The 22-year-old actress walked the red carpet in the light-up Disney Princess-inspired dress, created by Tommy Hilfiger, making one of the entrants of the night at the exclusive annual fashion event which is held at The Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Zendaya – who arrived alongside her long-term stylist Law Roach who was dressed as her Fairy Godmother – has now revealed she had to change into a different outfit shortly after getting inside because the batteries and wires underneath the gown started to heat up.
Speaking to British Vogue, she said: “The dress was like a science project. It was animatronic, and there were literally two people in the stands moving it with remote controls. I had no idea that it was going to heat up because there were so many batteries and wires in it.
“It got really hot – like, I was a little bit scared – and I just said, ‘I should probably get this off before I roast…'”
Zendaya was named the global ambassador for Lancome back in February, and she’s now set to star in a campaign for their newest perfume called Idole, which hits shelves on August 22.
‘The Greatest Showman’ star previously revealed connected with the fragrance as she says scents are “instantly hooked up to feelings”, and believes certain smells can trigger “recollections” of familiar people or locations.
Speaking to WWD, she said: “I guess you could say I’m growing up, and I feel like I’m coming into my adulthood. I really feel like scents are instantly hooked up to feelings and are instantly hooked up to recollections. I don’t know what perfume my grandmother wears, however I can odour it anyplace. If I smelled someone with my grandma’s fragrance I’d be like, ‘That’s my grandmother’s perfume. You smell like my grandma.’
“However in a great way, as a result, that’s the odour I’ve grown up with and it appears like residence for me.”

The 23-year-old pop star previously partnered with denim brand for its spring/summer 2019 campaign, and now the songstress has taken to social media to debut her first fashion collaboration with the label revealing she took “inspiration” from “growing up in the ’90s and ’00s in London”.

Sophie Turner’s bridal gown took over 350 hours to make

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner’s Louis Vuitton bridal gown took more than 350 hours to assemble.
The 23-year-old actress – who is a brand ambassador for the luxury French fashion brand – debuted the stunning floor-length wedding dress, which featured a discreet cut-out back, a flower-embroidered tulle and long lace sleeves, during her second nuptials to Joe Jonas in France last weekend, which was in front of their family and friends.
According to WWD, Turner’s dress took over 350 hours to execute and was constructed at Louis Vuitton’s flagship store in the Place Vendome, Paris, and the gown’s intricate details were posted by the label’s artistic director, Nicolas Ghesquiere, on Thursday (04.07.19) who simply captioned the photo of the newlywed: “Absolut beauty @sophiet (sic)”
Sophie’s dress also featured different panels that were embroidered with 50,400 crystal beads and 50,400 white beads, and the star had more than 10 of the fashion houses’s embroiderers on hand to work on the 14 meters of tulle for a total of 1,050 hours.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ star – who first married the ‘Sucker’ hitmaker in a whirlwind ceremony in Las Vegas in May – teamed her dress with a sultry veil that required 48 hours of embroidery and a white draped belt to complete her look.
Joe and the groomswen – which included his two brothers Nick and Kevin – all donned Berluti tuxedos, which were designed by Kris Van Assche.
The couple’s wedding ceremony in Sarrians has been described as a “perfect fairy tale”.
A source said: “Sophie and Joe knew the moment they decided to tie the knot in Vegas that they would do it ‘right’ the second time around. They both are spontaneous and loved their Vegas wedding but there was never a question as to if they would get married ‘properly,’ as they referred to it, later in the year.
“They just needed to plan so they could create a perfect fairy tale, which is what they did. Sophie wanted to have a very traditional, almost royal wedding and never ever considered wearing anything but white. France was the obvious choice for both of them because they felt it’s not only truly beautiful, but also an ideal spot in the summer for everyone to come together.”

Jean Paul Gaultier slams wasteful fashion industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Jean Paul Gaultier has slammed the fashion industry for producing “ridiculous” amounts of waste.
The 67-year-old fashion designer has urged brands to stop engaging in a “contest” to see who can make the most clothes, as he believes fashion companies are damaging the planet by producing “far too many collections with far too many clothes”.
He said: “Big groups are doing more collections, new collections … with a big amount of clothes. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
“It’s not a question of thinking about what people need. It’s thinking about being bigger. It’s only a question of power and politics.”
Gaultier is one of the world’s most influential designers and boasts a fashion career spanning more than four decades, but hit out at other designers who produce clothes that are “not to be worn” but are “more like advertising”.
Last year, it was reported that Burberry burnt unsold clothes, accessories, and perfume worth £28.6 million, and Gaultier says the practice is “scandalous”.
He added: “Some people destroy the clothes, they burn them. It’s scandalous.”
And to combat the waste in the fashion industry, Gaultier insists his next haute couture show in January “will be all about recycling”.
Speaking to BBC News, he said: “Keep your clothes … and after, we can make something new. I will help you do that.”
Gaultier’s decision to help the environment comes after he last year made the decision to ban fur from his labels, declaring that the way living creatures are killed for their fur to be “absolutely deplorable”.
The designer made his announcement on French television, and Mimi Bekhechi – director of international programmes at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) – insisted that Gaultier’s decision is a “sign of changed times”.
She said: “This decision is a sign of changed times, as most people no longer wish to wear anything from animals who were cruelly caged, electrocuted, bludgeoned to death or caught in steel traps, left to die slowly and painfully.
“Fur today is as dead as the poor animals it was stolen from, and any designers not clued up enough to see that may as well hang up their sewing needles now.”

Joey King felt ‘most confident’ after she shaved her head

OHMYGOSSIP — Joey King became her “most confident” and “happy self” when she shaved her head.
The 19-year-old actress chopped off her brown locks after she was cast as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in the Hulu true-crime series ‘The Act’, who killed her mother Dee Dee (played by Patricia Arquette) after years of being forced to live her life as a seriously ill child when, in fact, she was perfectly healthy.
And now the star – who is the new face of Urban Decay’s ‘Pretty Different’ campaign alongside singer Lizzo, actor Ezra Miller, and K-pop rap star CL – has revealed that shaving her hair off was liberating because she used to “hide behind” her locks and was subsequently “forced to confront” herself without her tousles.
She said: “I got rid of something that I usually hide behind, and that so many of us hide behind, and I was forced to confront myself and just be with myself with no hair.
“[Between that] and diving into such a complex character every day, I really just became my most confident and happy self.”
And Joey insisted that her family and friends were worried about her shaving off her locks because of the “mean things” that would be said about her by trolls online.
She told People magazine: “I remembered the way I felt when people said mean things when I was younger. But then I fully decided that I wanted to do it and when the day came along, I was like ‘Get this s**t off my head!’
“Everybody was concerned about me shaving my head, not because of what I would look like, but because they remembered what I went through online the past times.
“They were like, ‘Do you want to go through [that] again?’ But when I decided I was willing to take that risk, they were like, ‘All right, well then we are fully behind you.’ And I’m super thankful that they are.”
The ‘Kissing Booth’ star also went on to admit she has her own “uniqueness” and doesn’t have a “filter”.
She added: “I definitely own my uniqueness. I am very blunt and very honest. I don’t really have a filter.”

Mindy Kaling won’t pressure her daughter to shave

OHMYGOSSIP — Mindy Kaling doesn’t want her daughter to “feel pressured” into shaving.
The 40-year-old actress is mother to 18-month-old Katherine, and has said that despite becoming an ambassador for shaving brand Joy, she hopes her daughter won’t feel the need to start removing her body hair “too soon”.
When asked what she’s going to tell Katherine about shaving, she said: “I would hope that she would not feel pressured to do it too soon, or feel like she needs to fulfil any traditional standards of femininity. For me, it’s part of my self-care, like putting on makeup or doing my hair. It just makes me feel confident. I hope she has a ritual that does that too, whether it’s shaving her legs or another form of care that makes her feel good.”
The ‘Mindy Project’ star used to shave “all the time”, and although she still considers it part of her routine, she has become “more relaxed” about the frequency of her shaves since becoming a mother.
She said: “In my 30s, because I was on-camera and my character on ‘The Mindy Project’ would wear these microscopic skirts, I was doing it all the time. After I had my baby, I definitely have gotten slightly more relaxed about it; the frequency that I shave has changed. It was my birthday the other day, and I was like, ‘Oop, gotta get out the ol’ razor again!’ ”
Mindy recently partnered with the budget-friendly, Walmart-exclusive shaving brand Joy, and says she loves how “simple” the company is.
Speaking to Refinery29 about Joy, she said: “I like how simple they are. It is just a really good razor that works super-well – it’s not trying to be a philosophy and they’re not taking themselves too seriously, which is something I try to do, too.”

Liam Payne: I have long way to go before I’m a style icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne thinks he has a “long way to go” before he’s considered a “fashion icon”.
The 25-year-old singer has partnered up with German fashion house Hugo Boss to be the new face of their new label, Hugo – which is launching this summer and is geared toward younger men – and will design his own capsule collection that will be unveiled later this month.
And Liam – who is a member of the boyband One Direction, who went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015 – insisted that his style has drastically changed over the years, but he is now more “confident” than ever with his wardrobe choices.
He said: “I’ve got a long way to go before I could be considered a style icon. There’s a shot of me wearing this furry thing with no T-shirt and sunglasses on – inside – and red jogging bottoms. I don’t know what was going on that day.
“I think there was a part of me that enjoyed that the way I was dressing was annoying people – I was like, I’m going to get abused whatever I wear. Before, I used to hide behind my clothes, rather than putting them on and being myself. But you soon figure out what works. Now I’m more confident.”
The ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker has made many “fashion mistakes” since growing up in the spotlight, as he started his singing career on ‘The X Factor’ in 2010, when he was a teenager.
He told the Evening Standard: “When we were in the band, everybody had their thing. I was the guy in the patterned shirt. Louis had the trousers with the Tom’s, and no-one could wear stripes because he did.
“I haven’t worn a stripe since I was 15. It’s funny now looking at how everyone’s style has changed. Growing up as famous as we were, you can’t get away with all the fashion mistakes you’ve made over the years.”
Liam will work alongside Hugo and their creative director, Peter Deirowski, to design the limited edition Hugo x Liam Payne collection for fall 2019, and the bodywear campaign for cruise/resort 2020, which will be shot by fashion photographers Mert & Marcus.
And the ‘Bedroom Floor’ singer would love to create a clothing line in “really small” sizes so his two-year-old son Bear – whom he has with his ex-partner Cheryl Tweedy – can rock the look.
He continued: “I want to make all of it really small so that Bear can wear them. I love being a dad. [I was] always kind of seen as a bit of a Dad in the band”.
