Leomie Anderson: Wear wigs

OHMYGOSSIP — Leomie Anderson wants more women to wear wigs.
The Victoria’s Secret model loves experimenting with her look by wearing a variety of hair pieces and urged others to follow her lead.
She said: “I wear wigs, which means if I want to try a new hair colour, I don’t have to bleach my natural hair.
“I want all women to know that there’s a wig out there for everyone – they aren’t just for black women.
“Want to try a fringe or a bob? Try a wig”
But the 26-year-old beauty also knows its important to look after her natural locks too.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “Oil is very important to keep my hair conditioned.
“I avoid things like coconut oil because it’s not very hydrating for black hair and I don’t use any products with water in because that shrivels and dries out my hair.
“At the moment, I’m using one by L’Oreal Elvive, it’s suitable for every hair type and gives really good shine and hydration.”
Leomie is a “beauty junkie” who loves trying new products but she’s now found a skincare regime that works for her.
She said: “I’ve become a self-confessed beauty junkie. I travel a lot so I started noticing how dry my skin was getting.
“I cleanse with Dr. Barbara Sturm Enzyme Cleanser – it helps exfoliate but it’s gentle and leaves your skin feeling really clean.
“Afterwards, I use the Mario Badescu Glycolic Toner to remove any last traces of dirt.
“Then I layer Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Acid and Face Cream.
“I’m not the type to recommend skincare until I’ve used it for at least three months and I’ve been using these products for about six months now.
“I also try to get a facial every three months and I love sheet masks.”

Bebe Rexha’s size struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha was “so depressed” when she was told she was “too big” to be dressed at the Grammy Awards.
The ‘Meant To Be’ singer admits it “broke her heart” when she was told no designers would dress her for the music awards ceremony because she was a size 8.
She said: “Honestly? People are saying you’re too big to fit into their dresses. It broke my heart. I was so sad, so depressed. I felt like I was garbage. I thought to myself, ‘This is bulls**t. I was mad. I wasn’t trying to get back at anyone, but I wasn’t standing for it any more. I was in the studio and I just left, went into the kitchen, and made a video on my phone. If a [US] size 6/8 is too big then I don’t know what to tell you … That’s crazy. You’re saying that all the women in the world that are a size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses … f**k you, I don’t want to wear your f***ing dresses.”
The 30-year-old star has had to battle with comments about her weight her whole life and even when she got signed, she was told she had to lose a lot of weight very quickly.
She told the October issue of Cosmopolitan magazine: “When I first got signed, the label said, ‘Are you ready to get in boot-camp shape?’ They wanted me to lose 20lb (almost a stone and a half). Back then I was so small, I was only 130lb [around 9 stone]. It f***ed me up. I was so cold all the time. I would starve myself before filming a music video. She’d [a female creative director] sit opposite me at the dinner table and say, ‘You’re not losing enough.’ All I was eating was salad.”
The new issue of Cosmopolitan is on sale from September 5.

Nadine Leopold ‘died’ when given VS wings

OHMYGOSSIP — Nadine Leopold “died” when she received her Victoria’s Secret wings.
The 25-year-old model began her career when she wast just 14 years old and couldn’t believe it when she landed a major campaign for the lingerie giant, because she thought she was going to work on a swimwear job.
She told HELLO! Fashion Monthly magazine: “I would travel constantly. I was working for H&M at the time, which was huge. I was also doing the Mango campaigns, and when I was 16 I was approached by Victoria’s Secret.
“They called my agency to say they were really interested, but I was too young to work for them at that time, as you need to be 18, but they said they wanted me to come to New York so they could meet me. As soon as I turned 18, I started with them.
“It was a crazy ride. I remember on my first shoot they tricked me saying I was going to do a swim shoot in Miami, which I thought sounded perfect. I flew out to this massive mansion and inside were the biggest wings hanging up. They said, ‘Oh yeah, these are yours’ – and told me I was in the Dream Angels campaign and I died.
“I was 18 and it was the craziest day ever. And after the shoot, we heard there was a snowstorm in New York and we all just had to get back, so Ed [Razek] hired a private jet and we all flew back to New York together. It was so fun.”
But the Austrian beauty found it hard to fit in with the other models at first.
She said: “The more established Angels yes, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge, who was the first girl I worked with – they were both incredible, really trying to make me feel comfortable. The other ones it took a second for them to warm to the new girl.”
But these days, Nadine is very close to the other familiar faces on the Victoria’s Secret runway.
She said: “For me, last year’s VS show was a big one because I walked with all of my best friends.
“So Megan Williams, Sadie Newman, Shanina Shaik and Devon Windsor – it was so strange for all of us to be there at the same time. Backstage it gets very exhausting and stressful. So having them there was great. It’s a whole wave of emotions.”

Prince Charles suggested nettle fabric for Vin + Omi

OHMYGOSSIP — Vin + Omi enjoyed the “challenge” of using Prince Charles’ weeds in a fashion collection.
The sustainable clothing pioneers have teamed up with the prince for a new venture which sees every garment made from nettles from the 70-year-old royal’s Highgrove estate and the duo revealed the project was the future king’s idea.
Omi told People magazine: “It was actually his idea to use nettles from his estate and turn them into clothes.
“And what do you do with a suggestion like that? It was almost like a challenge for us!”
The idea was first mooted over tea last May at a British Fashion Council event to promote sustainability and craftsmanship and the duo – who were using cow parsley to make fabric – were excited by Charles’ offer to donate his weeds.
Omi said: “He casually said that he had loads of nettles if we wanted them. We thought it was a nice gesture and then next thing we knew we were at Highgrove with his team harvesting nettles over two days!”
With the help of eight students from Oxford Brookes University, the designers have harvested over 3000 nettle plants over the summer and found the experience “humbling”.
Omi said: “It’s been really humbling, because at Highgrove they know so much.
“It’s became a learning process for us both. The way his estate is run, it’s mind-blowing to think that these ideas were implemented 20-25 years ago. He really knows a lot about gardening and the environment.”
The team will show 10 pieces at London Fashion Week later this month and though Charles isn’t expected to attend, he has sent regular letters of encouragement, which have been “nice and also weird”.
Omi added: “I think he will see the pieces at some point and I’m sure he will probably look at them and find it amusing!”
“The V&A museum have asked to acquire a piece for their permanent collection, and we have four other museums flying in for the show so there has been a lot of interest, which is great.”

Cara Delevingne: ‘Working with Kate Moss was terrifying’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne says working with Kate Moss was terrifying.
The 27-year-old star worked with supermodel Kate, 45, on her first Burberry campaign in 2014 but Cara admitted that she was completely intimidated during the shoot with Kate.
She told Elle UK: “One of the best and worst moments was shooting my first Burberry campaign with Kate. It was terrifying! How do you get your photo taken next to her? It’s like shooting with a panther.
“She’s the queen of the set but also she might eat me. I was in awe, but trying to get the shot. Every time I was on set, I’d be staring at her instead of looking at the camera.”
Cara also revealed that she and her close pal Kendall Jenner, 23, didn’t speak to each other the first few times they worked together.
Cara explained: “Honestly, I had low expectations for friends in this industry because: a) I didn’t think people would want to be my friend, and b) I didn’t know if making friends through this process would be fickle or seem not real. So I was pleasantly surprised! Jourdan [Dunn] and Karlie [Kloss] were friends early on.
“I didn’t meet Kendall until I had been modelling for a bit. We had done a few shows together and didn’t say a word to each other. Eventually, we started talking and I was like, ‘Oh, you’re alright. We should hang out after this.’ She was like, ‘Alright, cool.’ It was very easy. I found that you automatically know if someone is trying to make an effort that isn’t real, and when a friendship seems contrived.”

Miranda Kerr postpones Kora’s birthday celebrations

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Kerr has postponed Kora Organics’ 10th birthday celebrations.
The 36-year-old model is currently pregnant with her third child and as the baby is due around the same time as her clean beauty brand turns 10, Miranda told Marie Claire Australia that the celebrations have been put on hold for now.
Miranda believes one of its main advantages her company has over its competitors is that Kora – which counts Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry and Kourtney Kardashian among its celebrity fans – uses certified organic ingredients in its products.
A Kora spokesperson explained: “Clean beauty is a massive trend at the moment, but the thing with ‘clean’ beauty is, whatever country is manufacturing the product gets to determine what’s clean and what’s not. Whereas ‘certified organic’ means you are certified by an independent body. That’s something that sets Kora Organics apart from the whole movement.”
Meanwhile, Miranda – who has Flynn, eight, with ex-husband Orlando Bloom and Hart, born in May 2018, with Evan – previously revealed her entire family starts the day with a shot of celery juice.
She said: “At the moment, our whole family’s on celery juice.
“First thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
“I started doing it, and then I got Evan to do it. We do 16oz, Flynn does 30ml and the baby does at least 10ml in a little plastic syringe. Everyone loves it.”
Miranda’s Kora range of beauty products feature extracts from the noni plant, and the Australian beauty has always been a big fan of the benefits of noni .
She said: “My grandmother introduced me to noni when I was 13. My whole family is very much into health and wellness and the noni was something that stuck as a daily thing.
“It’s basically a superfood super-fruit because it has over 100 vitamins and minerals and is full of antioxidants.
“People have been using it for thousands of years both internally and externally – and getting incredible results.
“When I started drinking it, I had more energy. I was getting tired at school and it really helped with energy and focus.
“If I had a breakout, my grandma would say, ‘Put a big of noni on it, love’. My grandpa would drink it and it would help with his arthritis.
“There was even a friend’s dog that couldn’t walk properly. They put it in his water and he started jumping around.”

She will also embark on a number of special projects with the company, the first of which will be revealed on 16th September.
Maura said: “I’m so proud of this opportunity I’ve been given by boohoo. It’s a brand that I’ve loved since I was a young girl so partnering up with them is a very surreal feeling for me and I’m so grateful.”
The star also took to Instagram to share her news and wrote: “IT’S OFFICIAL!!!!! I am now a @boohoo ambassador….honestly a dream come true for me. I am so proud of this opportunity.
“There are lots of exciting things in the pipeline & I cannot wait to show you guys…so keep your eyes peeled!!! (sic).”

Cara Delevingne admits modelling nearly ruined acting for her

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne says modelling “f**ked” her up when it came to acting.
The 27-year-old star admitted that when she first swapped the catwalk for the big screen on ‘Anna Karenina’, her director Joe Wright had to warn her to stop posing when she was in the background of some scenes.
She told Elle UK: “Honestly, fashion really f**ked me when it came to acting. When I did my first film – ‘Anna Karenina’, which I didn’t have a speaking part in – every time I was on screen, the director (Joe Wright) would come up to me and say, ‘Cara, you’re modelling again. Stop trying to look pretty.’
“I was an extra with 60 other people on screen at the time. I was like, ‘But what do you mean?’ And he’d tell me, ‘You’re not in the moment, you’re just trying to look hot.’ I never thought I did that. Modelling makes you know where the camera is at all times, and you have to forget that when you’re acting.”
Cara also explained that she finds both acting and fashion tough on her self-esteem.
She said: “Modelling is more surface, and acting is a bit deeper – either way, you’re getting rejected at some point. Which is something I’ve spent a lot of time working on.”
And Cara also spoke about how she sometimes felt modelling was not good for her mental health.
She said: “At a certain point, I wasn’t strong enough to say no to things. Modelling fuelled this thing where pictures of me looking pretty were the only things I liked about myself. Take that away, and take the billboards away, and there was nothing left. It’s not that I thought I was pretty — the person on the billboard was pretty. It became a fucked-up way to look at the world. I knew it wasn’t going to contribute to a healthy lifestyle and human interaction.”

Georgia May Jagger’s skincare line made for dry skin sufferers like herself

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia May Jagger started her own skincare line out of a “necessity” to have products that worked on her sensitive skin.
The 27-year-old model-and-designer – who is the daughter of Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger and model Jerry Hall – has admitted she had no choice but to start her own beauty range because she required products which are made from natural sources so they won’t interfere with her eczema.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I have really sensitive skin and I get eczema and stuff, so really it was just a necessity to me to have a brand that worked, because I’m always having so much make-up.”
The catwalk beauty is extremely environmentally conscious and promises each product will be “green” and stored in recyclable materials.
She added: “We’re going to have a really hero product that’s very important for people who have dry skin.
“And yes, it’s green as well, with all recycled glass bottles and natural, organic ingredients.
“It was very important to me that it was sustainable.”
Georgia is also the co-owner of UK salon Bleach London – which is opening in Los Angeles – and they are also constantly coming up with ways to be more eco-friendly.
She explained: “I’m hoping that the planet will be here for future generations and not just for us.
“We’re becoming carbon neutral. We feel like, as a brand, that we need to be environmentally conscious. …We’ve been doing a refill stations in our salons and just trying to come up with new innovative ways to become more environmentally conscious.”

Jessica Chastain’s make-up artist walks through her Hollywood glam make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Chastain’s make-up artist has revealed how she achieved her “Old Hollywood movie star” make-up look.
Kelsey Deenihan – who also works with ‘Stranger Things’ star Millie Bobby Brown – has revealed the main product used to create the actress’ look on her recent ‘IT Chapter Two’ press tour was three colours from the Lorac Cosmetics’ Lux Diamond Palette ($39) – a mixture of the shades Posh, 5th Avenue and Luxury, plus Crystal on top.
She said: “I didn’t want it to be an obvious pink or maroon.
“I didn’t want any black.
“So it’s all just those dark jewel tones … It’s the epitome of Old Hollywood movie star make-up.”
Meanwhile, Kelsey has hailed Millie a “powerhouse” after she recently unveiled her first cruelty-free and millennial-inspired beauty brand, Florence by Mills.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I mean that girl is a powerhouse.
“She is very big on skin, because she knows that her age group and demographic are all going through these tween years of problematic skin and changing.”

Millie Bobby Brown accepts acne as a sign of growing

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown is not ashamed of getting acne.
The 15-year-old actress has launched her own cruelty-free beauty brand, Florence by Mills, this week and she has opened up about her journey with make-up and how she is not bothered about getting spots, as it’s part of “growing”.
Speaking to Refinery29, the ‘Stranger Things’ star said: “I do get the odd pimple. I’ll probably get a pimple tomorrow.
“I actually love it though; I don’t know why.
“I think I just appreciate the growing — like I’m growing.”
Millie also said that women should feel free to do their make-up however they like, because the important thing is creating a look that makes you “feel good”.
She said: “For so long it’s been that women are supposed to wear make-up, but I think there isn’t really a right way to use it.
“As long as you’re being yourself, then why can’t you wear make-up? It’s not about other people; it’s about making yourself feel good.”
The line – which includes products such as Light Skin Tint, Eye Gel Pads – is PETA-certified, vegan and cruelty-free and Millie insisted she wanted her line to be based around “individuality and bravery”.
She said recently: “I felt like a brand about individuality and bravery and being truthful should be named after somebody who was all of those things.”
The ‘Modern Family’ star went on to explain that the range is aimed specifically at young people, using the knowledge she’s gained having started her acting career at the age of ten.
She said: “I’ve been in a make-up chair since I was 10, 11 years old, and I have really been introduced to all types of products.
“I’ve had special effects on my face, blood, all different types of foundation…I wanted to come into the space because there was a gap in the market for young people.”
The range is available at Ulta Beauty in the US and Boots in the UK and is budget-friendly with prices starting at $10 up to $34, and products will also be available online.
A section of proceeds made will go to the Olivia Hope Foundation, which aims to honor Millie’s late friend Olivia Hope LoRusso, who died following a 15-month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson felt she ‘couldn’t live without’ massive fake lashes

OHMYGOSSIP — Jesy Nelson felt like she “had to” always wear “massive fake eyelashes” during Little Mix’s early days.
The ‘Woman Like Me’ hitmakers shot to fame on ‘The X Factor’ in the UK in 2011, and the girl group – completed by Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – have admitted one of their biggest beauty faux pas were the “horrendous” lashes they had on the show, including colourful butterfly ones which made it difficult to even see.
Asked about their make-up fails on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, Jesy said: “We couldn’t even see.
“There are so many pictures of us on Google with the most horrendous eyelashes on.”
The oversized lashes were their signature look at the time and Jesy felt like she couldn’t “live without them”.
She said: “I got so used to that.
“I couldn’t live without them.
“I used to think that I had to have these massive big eyelashes.”
The girls – who shared that if they are getting themselves ready it takes “five minutes” but if they having full glam they are looking at “four hours” – all agreed they’ve “come a long way” since then.
Meanwhile, Perrie also revealed that she would tell her younger self not to “take everything so seriously”.
She said: “Not to care so much. Not to take everything so seriously.
“Nothing is the end of the world like you think it is.
“And with age comes more confidence and you feel happier in yourself.”
And whilst complimenting one another, Perrie revealed that Jesy can eat an entire corn-on-the-cob without messing up her lipstick.
She said: “You are so good with your lipstick. I’ve seen Jesy take down a corn-on-the-cob. It’s a talent let me tell you.”
