Victoria Beckham launches make-up line

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham has launched a make-up range.
The 45-year-old fashion designer has turned her attention to spearheading a “clean beauty movement” and all of the products in Victoria Beckham Beauty have been developed using “only the cleanest ingredients”.
The former Spice Girls singer said of her new venture: “I have always been beauty obsessed, and I want to create beauty solutions that address my customers from head to toe, inside and out.
“It is all about making my community feel like the very best versions of themselves.”
Products currently on sale include smokey eye bricks – a compact eye shadow palette – which are on sale for £48, while single ‘lid lustre’ eyeshadows cost £28 and eyeliners are £20. Lip and skin products will be made available in the near future.
A video on the range’s Instagram account featured Victoria working in a laboratory to create one of the bricks.
She said: “It really is about empowering women through fashion and beauty. It’s important to feel good about yourself, because that radiates. It’s so inspiring and really uplifting. This really is a dream come true.”
And it seems the beauty range is the first step of expansion for Victoria.
She said: “[The beauty brand is] just scratching the surface. I always say that it’s about living a really healthy lifestyle. I like to have fun – I like a glass of wine and I like a glass of tequila – but I also really look after myself. I talk a lot on my channels about the vitamins I take, about the working out, about my whole lifestyle.
“So that’s what’s next – wellness. It’s not about skincare that makes you look younger, it’s about being the best version of yourself.”
The products will feature a minimal amount of plastic and packaging will incorporate materials which are recyclable or biodegradable and every order will be delivered in a reusable canvas pouch.
The brand was co-founded by Sarah Creal – the former global head of make-up marketing and product development at Estée Lauder and she will serve as chief executive.
Sarah previously worked with Victoria on a collaborative capsule beauty collection.

Emma Willis wants comfortable clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Willis puts “comfort” first.
The 43-year-old presenter – who has children Isabelle, 10, Ace, seven, and three-year-old Trixie with husband Matt Willis – wants to feel good in whatever she’s wearing, no matter what the occasion and extended the principle to her own lingerie line for Next.
She said: “My overall style throughout the years has always had comfort at the forefront, so I don’t wear anything that I’m not completely comfortable in – whether that’s a red carpet outfit or my pyjamas.
“That was also one of the main priorities for the lingerie range.
“We wanted to create comfortable pieces that were also really stylish.”
Emma is “so excited” about her lingerie range and thinks the pieces can be worn both inside and out.
She said: “I’m so excited to launch my first lingerie collection.
“It can be so hard to find lingerie that is stylish but also comfortable to wear.
“Since having children I’ve stopped wearing underwired styles, so the pieces we’ve designed are all soft cupped.
“I wanted to create items that you can wear every day but also style up or down, using underwear as outerwear.”
The ‘Circle’ presenter would love to branch out in her designing and create clothes for children one day in the future.
Asked by HELLO! magazine if she’s interested in designing childrenswear in the future, she said: “That would be so much fun.
“I really enjoyed adding lingerie to the collection this year so it would be great to look at maybe designing a collection for children in the future.”

Kate Moss ‘never’ shares beauty advice with model sister

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss “never” shares beauty advice with her sister.
The supermodel admits she won’t ever give her younger sibling, who is also a model, any recommendations about beauty regimes or make-up as they’re “so different”.
She said: “My sister Lottie and I never share beauty advice. She is who she is, she has her own distinct personality and I have mine. We’re so different and she has a really good look going on. Everyone does their own stuff in their own way.”
And the 45-year-old supermodel also won’t give her daughter, Lila Grace, 16 – who she has with her ex Jefferson Hack – any advice but she “loves” watching her do her make-up.
She added: “I don’t dare give my daughter Lila Grace advice, but I love watching her do her make-up. She knows how to use gloss and highlighters. Sometimes I think, ‘How has she done that?’ It never looks the same on me.”
Kate takes advice from fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell on where to get “good treatments”, although she admits she doesn’t always follow her make-up tips.
She told Stylist magazine: “Naomi Campbell is always telling me where to go for good treatments. She gives me make-up tips too, but to be honest, I don’t always listen. When I was younger I wore a lot of black eyeliner and she was always like, ‘Take it off, take it off’, but I loved it too much.”

Craig David ‘eased up’ on gym routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig David has “eased up” on his gym routine.
The ‘7 Days’ hitmaker previously showed off his bodybuilder physique in 2013, but in recent years he has opted for a slimmer look as he says he’s ditched the “nonsense” workouts for something simpler, because he wants to be able to “enjoy life” and not “restrict” himself too much.
He said: “It’s different now. I’ve learned that it’s about being healthy and you can restrict yourself a little bit too much if you are going for a certain look.
“That’s the part that I see as nonsense, that I don’t buy into any more.
“Once I eased up on the reins a little bit, life was chill. It’s like, come on, enjoy life. It’s good.”
But the 38-year-old singer doesn’t have any regrets about his hardcore gym sessions, because he thinks it was “important to have experienced doing the extreme” so that he knows what his limits are.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, he added: “I think it was important to have experienced doing the extreme. I was proud of all the results but it’s for someone whose profession is that.
“If you’re into the fitness game and that’s your thing, cool.
“But I’m a musician and I just like to make music and I also like to stay fit.
“That’s about as far as it needs to be. It makes life a lot easier.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Walking Away’ singer recently moved back to the UK after living in Miami for six years, and has said he’s enjoying his new life in London.
He said: “I have felt burnt out in the past because I have pushed it a bit too much.
“That cycle can go on but it’s about organically finding what works for you. Downtime is key for me and being in London feels like home.”

Victoria Beckham to launch beauty line this weekend

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham will launch her beauty line on Saturday (14.09.19).
The former Spice Girl turned fashion designer first announced her plans to launch a beauty brand named Victoria Beckham Beauty back in February this year, and has now revealed the products will finally be available for purchase this weekend, when the line goes live on September 14.
Victoria announced the news via her brand’s Instagram account, where she shared two campaign images which counted down to the line’s launch.
The caption on one video read: “The final countdown starts NOW – #VictoriaBeckhamBeauty launches in just four days. Stay tuned for more news about the debut collection. Beauty that moves you. Link in bio. #CleanBeauty (sic)”
Whilst another photo was captioned: “Launching in just 3 days! #VictoriaBeckhamBeauty #CleanBeauty (sic)”
Victoria, 45, also showed off the packaging of the products, which will include a Smoky Brick eyeshadow palette, Lid Lustre eyeshadow, Satin Kajal Liner eyeliner pencil, and a sharpener.
The packaging post also includes two further products which have their names blurred out, and are yet to be announced.
In another post, a quote from Victoria says she’s determined to empower women to feel like “the very best versions of themselves”.
An image of two models is captioned: “”I want to create solutions for real women head to toe, inside and out. It is all about making my community feel like the very best versions of themselves.” -VB #VictoriaBeckhamBeauty (sic)”
Prior to announcing her beauty line plans in February, Victoria also teased a skincare collection during a Facebook Live celebrating International Women’s Day in March 2018.
Since then, the star – who has sons Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 17, and Cruz, 14, as well as daughter Harper, eight, with husband David Beckham – has given very few details on the line but insists she is still working on it, alongside plans to develop a fragrance.

Lance Bass used ‘baggy clothes’ to hide before he came out as gay

OHMYGOSSIP — Lance Bass used to hide behind “baggy clothes” before coming out as gay, because he wanted to “disappear”.
The NYSNC star – who is married to Michael Turchin – came out in 2006, and has now said that before being comfortable with his sexuality, he used to wear loose fitting clothes in “dark colours” so that people wouldn’t assume things about him.
He said: “I really didn’t even think about fashion when I was with NSYNC. There was this layer of, ‘Are people gonna think I think I’m gay if I care too much?’ I felt like I was hiding a big piece about myself, and it’s so sad, because I could’ve had so much fun.
“I [recently] looked at all my interviews with NSYNC, and I was like, ‘That is not me.’ I don’t talk. I’m pretty shy, and I wear baggy clothes and really dark colours. I just wanted to disappear.
“But then when I was able to become myself, I was like ‘Okay, I’m not afraid to let people know I’m gay. I don’t care what you think anymore.’ That’s when I started wearing more form-fitting clothes and bright colours and put colour in my hair.”
And Lance, 40, says he “regrets” a lot of his fashion choices from his time with the ‘Bye Bye Bye’ hitmakers, especially one outfit the group wore to the American Music Awards which saw them all don oversized puffer jackets in various colours.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, he said: “I do regret a lot of the ’90s stuff. There was this one outfit I wore for the American Music Awards – all the guys wore the same type of outfit, so I’m not in the boat by myself – but we were like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in different colours.
“It was so bad that Joan Rivers gave us an award. It was when she used to do those E! Fashion Awards, and I can’t believe she had this ready to go on the red carpet, but she gave us ‘most waterproof’. When you get awarded ‘most waterproof’ for your fashion style, it’s not good. It’s not good.”

Lil’ Kim ‘unapologetic’ with her outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil’ Kim is “unapologetic” about her fashion choices.
The 45-year-old rapper has said she likes to take risks with her fashion and does whatever feels right to her, as she says she never wants to apologise for the way she looks.
Asked about her fashion and beauty secrets, she said: “I do what I feel and I’m unapologetic about it too. A lot of times we mess up because sometimes we don’t have the time. Sometimes there’s things that just go completely wrong you’ll never know about, but I just go with what I feel.”
And Kim’s favourite fashion look of all time has been her famous Louis Vuitton logo look for her cover with Interview magazine, in which she posed in nothing but a cap, whilst her body was covered with the brand’s logo.
Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, she said: “The Louis Vuitton is definitely one of my favourites, which is the one from the Interview Magazine [shoot.] And of course the Hardcore poster, the purple pasty. Honestly, the wine colour BET look that I just did a couple months ago with Mary J. Blige, who’s one of my favourites, and I designed that from head to toe myself.”
Last month, the rapper dropped a picture on her Instagram account to tease her upcoming album ‘9’, which saw her covered in Chanel jewellery, as well as having the brand’s iconic logo stamped into her grey wig.
And her photographer, Michael Antonio, says the shoot was designed to “show an evolution of her aesthetic”.
He said at the time: “All the photos are promotional material for the new project she’s working on, ‘9’; her next album.
“The direction of the photo was essentially a self homage to her, the entire shoot was to show an evolution of her aesthetic. She’s had Chanel hair and her whole body covered in Louis Vuitton logos before and we wanted to keep up with tradition. I knew that I wanted it to be fresh and new but also something that echoed one of the many reasons why we love Kim.”

Viola Davis loves to steam

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis and her husband “steam” together every night.
The 54-year-old actress – who has nine-year-old Genesis with spouse Julius Tennon – always makes time for the ritual because she believes it is the best thing for her skin.
She told Refinery29: “When I come home every night, I don’t care how tired I am, I always do a steam.
“My husband waits for me. We put on our masks in the shower and we put on the lavender oils and then I wash my face again and turn on the light, walk out, and look in the mirror. I always feel like if I can get my skin looking pretty, I feel cute.”
Although the ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star was unveiled as the new face of L’Oréal Paris earlier this week, she doesn’t just want people to think beauty comes from using particular products.
She said: “Listen, does beauty have to do with lotions and lipsticks and perfumes? Sure.
“But the palette that you’re starting with is you. The palette that you’re starting with is the most beautiful palette. It’s 99.9% of your beauty. You can’t forget it.”
And in her new role, Viola wants to “pass on the message” that beauty starts on the inside.
She said: “I’ve done the work on myself so that I can pass on the message of worthiness and beauty coming from within, which is what I’m telling everyone now.
“I have a lot of hope because I think that women are getting it: Our worth is not attached to just the physical.”

Olivia Colman’s powerful outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman has learned clothes can make her feel “strong and powerful”.
The 45-year-old actress had always used her outfits as a “mask” but suffered a breakthrough with her “crippling” red carpet nerves when she wore a particular outfit and felt more confident than every before.
She said: “A lot of people take on a pretend persona, but I’m crippled by it. I feel embarrassed.
“A breakthrough for me was at the Venice Film Festival, wearing Stella McCartney. I felt, I can do this, I can do this.
“I’d always used clothes as a sort of mask. I discovered that they can make you feel strong and powerful.” In other words, more truly oneself.”
The ‘Crown’ actress was never confident in her looks when she was younger but looking back now, she thinks she was “beautiful”.
She told America’s Vogue magazine: “I look up pictures of myself as a teenager, and I think I was gorgeous. But I didn’t feel that.
“All those little comments through those precious years can have long-lasting negative effects. You see images of a perfect person and say, ‘I can never be that.’ ”
And these days, the ‘Favourite’ star – who has three children, Finn, 14, Hall, 12, and a little girl aged four, with husband Ed Sinclair – doesn’t care what people think about the way she looks because she knows she’s a “nice” person.
She said: “Over the years, pounds have gone on, and my body has changed; I’ve had children.
“If someone doesn’t like me because of the size of my bum, they can f**k off. Because I’m quite a nice person to be with, actually.”

Rihanna’s kitchen test

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna “danced in her kitchen” until she got her clothing range “right”.
The ‘Work’ hitmaker thought it was important to test the pieces from her Savage x Fenty collection and, as she had little time to prepare for her New York Fashion Week presentation this week, she did so wherever she could.
She said: “I do what I can! Look, I’m not nearly as good a dancer as Normani, but I will try.
“I will dance in these pieces in my kitchen until we get it right! Which is what I did, believe it or not.
“I only had two-and-a-half hours of rehearsal so I had to, like, get it where I could fit it in.
“Usually it was while I was doing other approvals. People are like, ‘Hey, pick this model! Pick this look!’ And I’m like this (dancing).
“No, listen, it happens! I’ll rehearse anywhere because I want it to be perfect. If you’re passionate enough about something, you’ll get it done.”
The 31-year-old singer’s show featured the likes of Normani and Halsey and she deliberately went for artists who were “powerful” because she thinks that is a “very sexy” attribute to have.
She explained in an interview at the show with Elle.com: “I wanted to highlight women who are powerful. To me, power in whatever way you master it is very sexy. And with someone like Normani, you know, she’s an incredible dancer, and dance is athleticism. Dance is powerful. It would be a shame to miss out on the opportunity to have that kind of beauty and power in the show.”

Julia Stiles on 90s beauty trends

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Stiles thinks blue eye shadow still looks “pretty cool”.
The 38-year-old actress is bemused that many beauty trends from the 1990s have come back into fashion but believes some of them are still easy to pull off, so long as they are done well.
She said: “Why are these trends coming back?
“Like every other Courtney Love fan, I remember really liking baby barrettes…
“Baby blue shadow holds up and looks pretty cool. You have to tone down the rest of it — it can’t be blue eye shadow and eyeliner. It has to be one or the other.”
But Julia admitted she doesn’t remember a great deal about the 1990s, other than having very thin eyebrows.
She told Allure magazine: “I feel like I blocked out so much of the ’90s. I don’t know why. It was high school [for me]. That’s why. There was good music. And I’m glad my eyebrows came back.”
Twenty years ago, Julia starred in ’10 Things I Hate About You’ but admitted she had no idea the film – which was based on William Shakespeare’s ‘The Taming Of the Shrew’ – would be as big a hit as it was and she’d still be asked about it today.
Asked if she realised it would be a hit, she said: “No, I didn’t. And the minute you start thinking that, then it’s over.”
Then asked if she’s tired of being asked about the cult classic, she added: “No, it’s nice when people say that they remember it and that they like it. If I weren’t working now, maybe I would be like, ‘Hey, can I move on from that?’ But I’m happy.”

Viola Davis new face of L’Oreal Paris

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis is the new face of L’Oréal Paris.
The 54-year-old actress has landed her first ever major beauty campaign and hailed the chance to utter their famous slogan, “Because I’m worth it”, a “gift”.
She wrote on Instagram: “The self affirming words of, ‘Because I’m worth it’ have always given me chill bumps. What a joy it will be to not just say them over and over again…but to spread the message of worth to women around the world. It is a gift.”
The ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ actress thinks being “worth it” is to embrace the “greatest privilege” of being true to herself and thinks it is “crazy” that she used to feel expected to conform in order to succeed.
She said: “I believe that the greatest privilege is to be who you are.
“No apologies for your age, your colour, anything. As long as you’re you and living up to who that is and what that means, you’re worth it. That’s self-worth.
“Earlier in my career when I was much more affected, [conforming] almost felt like prerequisite to success, which is crazy if you think about it–what do looks have to do with acting ability?
“In order to succeed, you had to meet these impossible standards. Now I am much more secure in who I am, but there was a time that I did feel those pressures and succumb to them to a degree.”
And the ‘Fences’ star admitted her appointment feels “surreal” because she never thought she’s be a beauty spokesperson as she couldn’t relate to those who were when she was younger.
She told People magazine: “It feels surreal. First of all, and you can take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt, I never thought that I could be an international spokesperson for L’Oréal. The fact that I am, it feels like my life has come full circle.
“When I thought of beauty and femininity when I was a young scrappy girl growing up in Central Falls, Rhode Island, I didn’t associate it with myself.
“I didn’t think that I had all those attributes that women who are seen like that should have.”

Nicky Hilton Rothschild loves shoes

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicky Hilton Rothschild’s shoes have always been a “really, really big deal” to her.
The 35-year-old businesswoman had a strict school uniform as a teenager which meant the only way she could express her own style was through her footwear.
She said: “I went to all girls, Catholic, private school on the Upper East Side. The only thing we could style ourselves was our shoes, so it was a really, really big deal…
“I have been wearing French Sole since I was in high school. We weren’t allowed to wear any heels, so we had to choose a flat.”
And even now, the heiress – who has children Lily, three, and Theodora, 21 months, with husband James Rothschild – wears flats more often than heels because they are more practical.
She said: “You definitely don’t wear heels as much. Running around the city with a stroller, two children, a lot more flats.
“Which is great, because I love flats.”
Nicky is a particular fan of Christian Louboutin’s famous red-soled shoes, and the designer created shoes for her wedding, the afterparty and a custom-dsigned pair for her wedding night.
She told Yahoo!: “I love baby blue. I remember the first time seeing [Christian Louboutin’s] shoes, I saw the red soles – and I thought that was so clever. I thought if I ever design shoes, I will have powder blue soles.”
Although Nicky is passionate about footwear, she admitted her sister Paris Hilton doesn’t share her obsession.
She said: “My sister, believe it or not, was always a tomboy, she didn’t care about shoes. I care, I love the whole thrill of it.”

Rihanna wants consumers to feel their ‘most’ with Fenty

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna wants women to feel their “sexiest” in her clothes.
The ‘Work’ hitmaker hopes her new Fenty line will help consumers to feel their “most” in all respects when they wear the garments.
She told i-D magazine: “The most important message is that this a line designed by a woman for women.
“It’s for women to feel their sexiest, their boldest, their most feminine, their most masculine, their most, period.”
She said: “I’m a curvy girl, and if I can’t wear it myself, it’s not going to work.
“I need to see how it looks on my hips, on my thighs, on my stomach – does it look good on me or only on a fit model? It’s important.”
Rihanna has adopted a direct-to-consumer capsule approach to Fenty because she doesn’t want to “tease” fans with previews of the clothes months before they go on sale.
She said: “There is no six-month wait, you get it when you see it. There’s no tease. You see it, love it, and want it and that’s because I’m like that, I want things right away.”
The 31-year-old singer is involved in every aspect of her clothing business.
Jaheel Weaver, her junior creative director, said: “She picks every single fabric, she picks every colour variation, every detail.”
Another of the brand’s designers, Matthew Adams Dolan, added: “A lot of people would think of her being quite hands-off. In reality, she is very attached and involved in every single decision.”
The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker has made all her team feel like they are part of a “family”.
Matthew said: “It’s about a relationship. That is one of the things that sets her apart, the idea of family.”
Rihanna added: “We can create and understand each other implicitly — sometimes we don’t even have to speak, we just know what feels right.
“We love the energy of the youth and that is something we are creatively focused on within each release.”

Hilary Duff shaves her nose

OHMYGOSSIP — Hilary Duff shaves her nose.
The 31-year-old actress thinks she looks better when she takes “two seconds” to remove unsightly hairs, even though she thinks the process is a “dirty little secret”.
She said: “I have this dirty little secret that I love to shave my nose. It takes me, like, two seconds. I love the way [my skin] looks with it way more than without it. So I try incorporate it when I can.”
The ‘Lizzie McGuire’ star may “live” for bold eyebrows but she’s toned down the colour these days.
Discussing her beauty regrets, she told Glamour online: “I went through a phase where I basically had jet-black eyebrows– and still as a blonde. Jet-black eyebrows! I love a big brow. I live for a big brow, but now the tone of my brows is a little more toward my hair colour.”
Hilary is a “product junkie” who doesn’t favour any particular brand but she does have a regular skincare routine.
She said: “As tired as I am at the end of the day, I really try to wash my face and stick to a regimen.
“I’m a bit of a product junkie, so I can’t sit here and be like, ‘This is the only product I use that works for me.’ That’s not really how I roll.
“I love oils and serums and stuff like that.
“I think just sticking to a regimen and taking care of your skin before you go to bed from wherever you’ve been that day, or whatever dirt is on your face– I try to get that nice and clean before I go to bed.
“But if I’m going quickly out of the house, I honestly use a CC or BB cream just to have sunscreen or even out my skin tone, and then a brow gel. I curl my lashes and pop mascara on, and then I go.”

Tommy Hilfiger proud of transparency

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Hilfiger is proud of the “transparency” of his clothing.
The designer knows modern consumers are interested in sustainable fashion and his eponymous label have embraced the trend and want to be as upfront as possible.
Discussing what young shoppers want, he said: “Sustainability, which we’re all over. We’ve done a whole jeans collection with all recycled denim.
“This consumer wants to know how it’s made, where it’s designed, who’s shipping it, who’s sewing it, and how you are treating the sheep who are sheered for wool.
“We love that transparency. We want to say, ‘We’re with you.’ We don’t want anything to be under the rug.”
Tommy has developed a see-now, buy-now approach to his runway shows and thinks “immediate gratification” is very important to his target market.
He told Footwear News: “We believe millennials want immediate gratification. They don’t want to see something on the runway and wait six months to get it in the store or on our site when they’ve seen it on celebrities and on Instagram.
“They’re also seeing it in the magazines way in advance, so by the time it reaches the selling floor it’s like, ‘Been there, done that, what’s new?’ So, we’re giving them immediate gratification — the chance to wear it the next day.”
And the designer wants to push his brand’s approach to diversity to a “new level” in the coming months.
He said: “Next year is our 35th anniversary. For 35 years, we’re been inclusive and diverse.
“We really started streetwear as a result of embracing the young, hip-hop community. We have always had a diverse cast in our advertising and on the runway.
“People are just talking about it now. But I love it because I am taking it to a new level with size diversity, age diversity, we have trans models, we have boys wearing women’s clothes.
“We have real life — and I don’t want to pretend we’re only making clothes for a certain elite crowd. I want everyone to wear my clothes. That’s also why they’re affordable. Worldwide, I want everyone in my clothes.”
