Samantha Cohen CVO, Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen, said: “This book documents the unique working relationship between Her Majesty The Queen and the woman who has been her Personal Advisor and Senior Dresser for more than two decades: Angela Kelly.

A spokesperson for HarperCollins said: “The Queen has personally given Angela her blessing to share their unparalleled bond with the world.
“Angela Kelly is the first serving member of the Royal Household to have been given this extraordinary permission.
“Whether it’s preparing for a formal occasion or brightening Her Majesty’s day with a playful joke, Angela’s priority is to serve and support.

Fran Drescher is Charli XCX’s style icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Fran Drescher is Charli XCX’s style icon.
The 27-year-old singer revealed that Fran’s character, Fran Fine, in CBS sitcom ‘The Nanny’ is her ultimate style icon because she loves the “big hair and loud prints”.
She told Dazed magazine’s September issue, which she guest edited: “Fran Drescher in ‘The Nanny’. I never really watched it growing up but when I was younger I worked with a stylist who kept telling me I dressed like The Nanny and would gravitate towards the kind of things she wore. I was like ‘okay, right, who is this?’ and started looking into her and the looks were just endless! I think big hair and bold colours and loud prints always get me really excited, plus the cuts of all the clothes she wore were always just really cute. There were lots of minis and cropped jackets, and co-ords, and her look is very maximalist in a way.”
And Charli also revealed she is a huge fan of the Spice Girls’ style, but not Geri Horner’s iconic Union Jack dress.
When asked, “If you could own a cult piece of fashion history, what would it be?”, she replied: “Probably any of the Spice Girls’ wardrobe – all of their looks were iconic! But actually I’d give Geri’s Union Jack dress a miss. I don’t really like flags and it would feel a bit too nationalist nowadays.”
Charli also confessed that she if she had the chance to walk in any fashion runway show from history, she would choose Alexander McQueen’s 1997 ‘It’s a Jungle Out There’.
She said: “Firstly, me walking in a runway show is a hilarious idea, I would probably fall or do something ridiculous! But if I had to, it would be Alexander McQueen’s 1997 It’s a Jungle Out There show. I recently watched the documentary on his life while I was on a place and I found it all so overwhelming and emotional. He was a true original.
“This particular show was insane and so disruptive, with the students storming the entrance to sit among the invited industry guests and celebrities. It was so punk and political in such a literal way. And it was funny! Like, when the same students knocked over the gasoline container causing the car to go up in flames and everyone just thinking it was part of the production! People never know what’s real and what isn’t, but they’re willing to believe it all if it’s convincing enough.”

Chanel to stage cruise collection in Capri

OHMYGOSSIP — Chanel will stage its 2021 cruise collection in Capri.
The French fashion house is set to present the cruise line – designed by Virginie Viard – outside Paris for the first time since 2016 and it will take place in Capri, Italy, on May 7, 2020.
Bruno Pavlovsky, president of fashion and president of Chanel SAS, told WWD: “We are very happy to go to Italy, and even more so to go to Capri. It’s a very inspiring place, very inspiring for Virginie Viard. We have a lovely cruise show in the works.”
Chanel said in a statement: “From the 1920s, Gabrielle Chanel offered her clients lightweight and comfortable designs for yachting, coastal resorts, spa towns and other various sunny destinations such as the Riviera and the Lido beaches of Venice.”
This will be the second cruise line designed by Viard, who took over following the death of Karl Lagerfeld in February.
Meanwhile, JW Anderson designer Johnathan Anderson recently claimed that fashion has been in “freefall” since the death of Lagerfeld.
He said of Karl: “Ultimately, he was the end of that period. He was at the pinnacle, he held the fort, he was the figurehead of fashion. Now that he is no longer there, I feel we’re in this moment of freefall, not just because of him but what the industry stood for. I have huge respect for Karl.”
And the designer thinks the fashion industry has become too “conservative” particularly in a time of such political turmoil.
He said: “Usually, in political moments like this, creativity should explode or go against the grain. But fashion has contracted in on itself.
“It’s interesting and weird that such a liberal industry has become so conservative.
“No one wants to be outspoken, people have become afraid of their peers, the media, the ‘like’ culture of social media – there’s this idea of recreational outrage, like it’s more exciting to destroy something than support it.
“Instead of being optimistic and supportive of one another, Britain’s become incredibly divisive, it’s not about morals any more, it’s whether you’re in or out.”

Ralph Lauren launches Friends-inspired workwear

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Lauren has released a workwear collection inspired by ‘Friends’.
The designer’s new Wear To Work range is based on the wardrobe of Jennifer Aniston’s alter ego Rachel Green and it will go on display in Bloomingdales, which is hosting a special installation in honour of the show’s 25th anniversary.
Launched in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and the department store, the collection is based on many of the distinctive pieces worn by Rachel – who worked for both Ralph Lauren and Bloomingdales throughout the show’s 10-year run – but given a modern update, with garments including leather trousers and skirts, polo-neck kits, pin-striped suits and velvet jackets.
The pieces come from Polo Ralph Lauren and Lauren Ralph Lauren and prices start from £120.
Ralph Lauren said in a statement: “The collection is a celebration of the brand’s role in the series.
“Just as ‘Friends’ proved to be a perennial favourite series for viewers over the last 25 years, this collection reflects Ralph Lauren’s timeless styles and archetypes that have remained a go-to for the modern working woman.”
In Bloomingdales, as well as shopping Rachel’s wardrobe, ‘Friends’ fans can visit a recreation of Central Perk and enjoy a free cup of coffee, and also explore a replica of the popular character’s office.
The Rachel Green collection is also available online and in Ralph Lauren stores.
Other companies have also marked the show’s 25th anniversary with new products.
In July, Pottery Barn revealed they would be using inside jokes from the show in their ‘Friends’-themed product range, while both ASOS and H&M stock clothing bearing the programme’s iconic logo.
LEGO fans can snap up a replica Central Perk and avid viewers can test their knowledge of the show with Trivial Pursuit’s ‘Friends’ edition.

Cindy Crawford expected career to be over by 25

OHMYGOSSIP — Cindy Crawford expected her modelling career to be over by the time she was 25.
The 53-year-old supermodel always knew life on the catwalk was typically shortlived so she’s astonished to still be in the spotlight, more than three decades after she first began working.
She said: “Models used to be replaced every five years, so I assumed that at 25 I would have to go back to school. Here I am at 53! I’m representing different brands, which is appropriate, but every time I get my picture taken, to me, that’s modelling.”
Cindy joked she and her fellow modelling icons, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Kate Moss, were like a “boy band” because of how they looked when put together.
She said: “Before Christy, Linda, Naomi, Claudia, Kate and I, models weren’t well known.
“It was almost like we were a new boy band – we were all different, but we looked good together.
“Fashion was all about glamazonian shoulder pads, high heels and strong women. We didn’t look like victims, we looked empowered. I really think that we felt that way, too.”
While the catwalk veteran doesn’t miss the runway, she does long for life backstage.
She said: “It was like a slumber party. We were all tired and a little bit punchy, but real friendships were formed.”
Cindy and her husband Rande Gerber’s kids, Presley, 20, and Kaia, 18, have both followed in their mother’s footsteps and she joked she’s more well known now for her association with her daughter in particular.
She laughed: “I feel I’m most known for giving birth to Kaia now.”
Cindy finds it “interesting” the way the industry has evolved over the years but is unsure how modern approaches work for her and her business ventures.
She explained to Vogue.com: “I come from a world where you shoot 100 photos and pick the very best one to show to everyone.
“Now images are put out more quickly, they are not as curated. I think that’s interesting, but I’m still trying to figure out how I want it to work for my brand.”

Karrueche Tran loves hot yoga

OHMYGOSSIP — Karrueche Tran loves “really hot” yoga.
The 31-year-old actress finds the sessions at Hot 8 in Los Angeles make her “feel good and powerful” because they “cleanse” her system and make her stronger and more flexible.
She told HollywoodLife.com: “I do really hot yoga, like 110 degrees.
“I love that it isn’t just a workout. I can also detox my skin, my face, my body, just everything. It just makes me feel so good and powerful. Not only are you cleansing your body and your face, you’re just stretching and you’re flexible.
“The older you get, we got to stretch these muscles out and sit up straight. We don’t think about it, but it’s very important, so I think that, those two [hot yoga and stretching] are what’s been keeping me in shape right now.”
The ‘Claws’ actress spares no expense when it comes to looking after her skin.
She said: “I’ve been blessed to be able to get using products from Dior and Patcha… Just really great products that help your skin.
“[My rule is just] knowing what type of skin you have and using the right products that will help it.”
And Karrueche also knows how important drinking water is to keeping her complexion clear.
She said: My one thing is, I drink lots of water. I know it sounds cliché, but I try to drink big bottles of water.
“I try to drink at least one a day, or two, but it should be three per day, so three litres a day.”

Demi Moore has sensitive skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore has “hyper, hyper sensitive” skin.
The 56-year-old actress tries to keep the products she uses on her face to a minimum to avoid it getting irritated and inflamed and she’s very careful about what she uses.
She said: “My skincare routine is generally less is more.
One of the key things that has totally saved my skin is the make-up eraser cloth.
“My skin is hyper, hyper sensitive so I can’t have anything with fragrance. It has to be really high quality, clean, active ingredients.”
The ‘Ghost’ actress – who has three daughters with ex-husband Bruce Willis – also admitted she finds it harder to complete her skincare routine because of her poor eyesight.
Going through her routine for Harper’s Bazaar’s Go to Bed With Me series, she said: “I have two different cleansers depending on what I’ve got going on.
“[Retrouve Cleansing Elixer] – It’s a nice texture and if I need to feel more clean I have Cosmedix Benefit Clean [gentle cleanser] which is more like soap but both of them work.
“It’s really difficult when you’re blind. It’s one of the downsides of getting older, if you have a button to push in with a full-on magnifier… My mother always drilled in me that no matter what you should wash, cleanse and moisturise your skin.”
And later in the tutorial, she added: “This is a new favourite – I have to squint to make sure I’m putting the right thing on. It’s by Niod and it’s copper, it’s a serum you do morning and night. It just has incredible energy to it, your whole face feels uplifted and somebody said today it tightens your skin and makes it more alive.”
Before she starts her skincare regime, Demi gets in the mood with her favourite room spray.
She said: “What I like to do before anything is spray this Beat The Blues (room spray), it changes the mood of everything. It’s a combination of tuberose, clary sage, orange and it does what it says it does, it’s completely uplifting.”

Chloe Sevigny’s perfume panic

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny had a “panic attack” when her favourite perfume was discontinued.
The 44-year-old actress used to wear Rose by Commes de Garçons
and had to seek out as much stock as possible online when she learned it wouldn’t be sold any more.
She said: “I’ve worn fragrance since high school basically.
“I literally had a panic attack [when it was discontinued], I had to find it on eBay and I collected as many bottles as I could. Everyone recognised me by that scent.”
Chloe tried other rose fragrances as replacements but couldn’t find one she liked as much so jumped at the chance to work with Alia Raza and Ezra Woods of Régime des Fleurs on her own perfume, Little Flower.
She told HarpersBazaar.com of the fragrance: “This perfume is surprisingly very fresh, very dewy. [It’s like] being in a rose garden in bloom.
“It starts very fresh and becomes a little warmer.”
The ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ actress finds perfume a source of comfort.
She said: “I think when you wear one every day it becomes part of you, it’s protective.
” usually apply when my skin is still a little moist out of the shower. Apparently if you apply creams and perfumes when you’re still a little damp they penetrate better. I do three squirts around my neck, two on my wrists, then I get dressed and I do another four spritzes, because I like it also to stay on my clothes. I feel like fragrance stays better on clothing and in dry hair.”
Chloe eventually wants to extend Little Flower into other products.
She said: “We’d like to make some products that are more accessible, that aren’t as expensive, like a smaller version or maybe even a cream or candle so that more can experience the beautiful fragrance that we created.”

Karlie Kloss thinks fragrance is important

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss believes fragrance “completes” her look.
The 27-year-old model – who is the face of Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl Fragrances – thinks perfume is the ultimate accessory because it is so “personal” to the user and it can finish off any outfit.
She said: “Ms. Herrera always references fragrance as an invisible accessory, which really is so true. No matter what you’re wearing when you put your fragrance on it just completes your look. It’s so personal and a part of your aura.”
The ‘Project Runway’ host thinks it is important to get a good night’s sleep and to exercise well as it helps her to feel “centred and present” and she knows she can banish any negative thoughts by going running.
She told MarieClaire.com: “I’m really affected by how I feel in my body. When I take care of myself, get a good night’s sleep, and break a sweat first thing in the morning I feel the most centered and present in who I am.
“When I’m feeling negative, I go for a run. It helps me shift my perspective, clear my mind, and get things back in check. It helps me get out of my head and into my body.”
When she isn’t working, Karlie – who is married to Joshua Kushner – doesn’t wear a lot of make-up and likes to keep her skincare routine as simple as possible.
She said: “With my beauty routine, I like to keep it simple. In the mornings, I like to do lymphatic drainage massage on my face with my hands or a jade roller.
“On a daily basis, I keep my make-up very minimal.”

Lady Gaga not worried about sales

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga “doesn’t care” if people use her new make-up line.
The ‘Star is Born’ actress launched her highly-anticipated Haus Laboratories collection this week but she’s not bothered about sales as she just wants to make a positive impact.
She said: “In truth, we don’t care if you wear our make-up or not. What’s important to us is that you love yourself and spread that kind message around the world.”
While Gaga likes creating different “personas” with cosmetics, she thinks the ultimate “transformation” has nothing to do with make-up.
She said: “You can create different personas with makeup, or go bare, but ultimately the real transformation comes from within and loving yourself.”
Although the 33-year-old star has worked with make-up artist Sarah Tanno for years, she doesn’t worry if the cosmetics expert isn’t around because she knows her own skills are just fine.
She said: “[If Sarah’s not around] I do my make-up myself, I did my own stage make-up for years.
“I’m actually a great make-up artist on myself — and others. I’m of course not on Sarah’s level but you know, I try!”
The ‘Shallows’ singer doesn’t worry about trends and thinks it is important to stay true to herself.
She told People magazine: “I don’t pay attention to what is trending or what people necessarily want to see me as.
“I’m just always me, whether people like it or not.
“Staying true to myself is part of how I love myself.”
Asked what helps her to feel confident, she added: “Not caring what other people think of me by judging me by my looks. That’s shallow. Whether I’m dressed up with make-up or in sweatpants with none, I’m just being me.”

Michael Kors began designing at five

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Kors helped redesign his mother’s wedding dress when he was just five years old.
One of the 60-year-old designer’s earliest memories is of going “silent” when he saw Joan Hamburger’s gown for the first time and she had certain alterations made at his urging.
He recalled: “My grandmother was with us at the bridal salon, and my mother had ordered her dress, and was having the first fitting. It was floor-length, heavy cream shantung, very Balenciaga, and covered in bows. When my mother tried it on, I just went silent. My mother asked, ‘What’s wrong?’ and I said, ‘Those bows are so terrible!’ ”
When he was six, Michael was desperate to own a black faux-fur coat similar to one he’d seen American footballer Joe Namath wear.
He said: “He was just the epitome of the cool guy. Very handsome, very good-looking and a great athlete who loved fashion.”
The designer’s grandmother bought him the coat for Christmas.
He told HarpersBazaar.com: “I was probably the only child who wasn’t interested in toys at all.”
Michael credits his success to being engaged in conversations about fashion by the women in his family from a young age.
He said: “They were all very specific in their point of view, they were all very opinionated.
“To this day, the question I hate the most is when people say, “Who’s your muse?” And I say, ‘Muse? If I’m only designing for one woman, then we’re in trouble.’
And the designer’s biggest aim when creating new garments is to make all women feel their best, regardless of their body shape.
He said: “My aim is to make women feel their best selves. She could be 85, she could be 16; she could be a size 22 or a size four.”

Victoria Beckham ‘OK’ with wrinkles

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham is “OK” with having wrinkles.
The 45-year-old fashion designer has admitted working on her new cosmetics line has been “very liberating” and boosted her self confidence.
She said: “There’s something really liberating about embracing who I am at 45 years old and owning it, feeling content.
“Doing beauty has really helped with that – it’s been very liberating.
“I want to spread the word that everybody should feel like the best version of themselves. To look after what you have. I want to tell people to own who you are. Yes, we – and I – have wrinkles, and that’s OK!”
While the former Spice Girls singer – who has children Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 14, and Harper, eight, with husband David Beckham – knows her beauty venture will come under a lot of scrutiny, she isn’t worried because she is a “very positive person” and thinks the quality of the products will speak for themselves.
She explained in the new issue of Glamour magazine: “I feel very confident the [Victoria Beckham Beauty] product will speak for itself, as the clothes have.
“I know everything I do will be scrutinised and that’s OK, but I don’t let it get in my way. I’m a very positive person. If you put out positive energy, that’s what you’ll get back.”
Although Victoria admitted her sense of style has changed over the years, she doesn’t regret any of her old looks.
She said: “I look at everything as good at the time and part of a journey that has brought me to where I am now. I don’t cringe at many pictures, to be honest.
“Would I wear a Burberry bandana these days? Absolutely not! But at the time it felt right and I’m proud of what me and David have achieved.”

Katy Perry’s ‘challenging’ hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry “stayed up all night” turning her hair from black to pink.
The ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ hitmaker ditched her dark locks for a candyfloss hue four years ago and colourist Rita Hazan admitted the drastic change was the “most challenging thing” she’d ever undertaken because she didn’t want to damage her famous client’s tresses.
She said: “I think the most challenging thing that I ever had to do was four years ago when Katy Perry came in, she’d been dying her hair black for years, and she wanted to make it pink – that night.
“I think we stayed up all night doing it. It took hours and hours. We kept bleaching it, and I kept doing treatments in between, but I finally got her hair to be pink.
“And then after that, we coloured it blue and then purple and I think really that’s what sparked this pop-colour fantasy hair, which is cool.
“But that was the most challenging, because she had long hair and I didn’t want to destroy it to give her that colour, so we had to do it really skillfully.”
Rita also admitted the “coolest thing” that ever happened to her was when she was first asked to work with Beyonce because the ‘Formation’ hitmaker rarely approaches anyone outside of her regular “team”, which she has now been a part of for eight years.
She told Glamour.com: “The coolest thing was when I got a phone call saying Beyonce wanted to go blonde and she wanted me to do it.
“I guess over the years I’d worked with so many people and made dark hair blonde and she just wanted to have that blonde.
“This was like eight years ago and she’d been doing it for so long, she already had her team. Usually people like that, they’re very loyal, they don’t change so it was very exciting that she wanted to do something different and wanted me to do it.”

Victoria Beckham launches make-up line

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham has launched a make-up range.
The 45-year-old fashion designer has turned her attention to spearheading a “clean beauty movement” and all of the products in Victoria Beckham Beauty have been developed using “only the cleanest ingredients”.
The former Spice Girls singer said of her new venture: “I have always been beauty obsessed, and I want to create beauty solutions that address my customers from head to toe, inside and out.
“It is all about making my community feel like the very best versions of themselves.”
Products currently on sale include smokey eye bricks – a compact eye shadow palette – which are on sale for £48, while single ‘lid lustre’ eyeshadows cost £28 and eyeliners are £20. Lip and skin products will be made available in the near future.
A video on the range’s Instagram account featured Victoria working in a laboratory to create one of the bricks.
She said: “It really is about empowering women through fashion and beauty. It’s important to feel good about yourself, because that radiates. It’s so inspiring and really uplifting. This really is a dream come true.”
And it seems the beauty range is the first step of expansion for Victoria.
She said: “[The beauty brand is] just scratching the surface. I always say that it’s about living a really healthy lifestyle. I like to have fun – I like a glass of wine and I like a glass of tequila – but I also really look after myself. I talk a lot on my channels about the vitamins I take, about the working out, about my whole lifestyle.
“So that’s what’s next – wellness. It’s not about skincare that makes you look younger, it’s about being the best version of yourself.”
The products will feature a minimal amount of plastic and packaging will incorporate materials which are recyclable or biodegradable and every order will be delivered in a reusable canvas pouch.
The brand was co-founded by Sarah Creal – the former global head of make-up marketing and product development at Estée Lauder and she will serve as chief executive.
Sarah previously worked with Victoria on a collaborative capsule beauty collection.

Helena Christensen ‘touched’ by runway reaction

OHMYGOSSIP — Helena Christensen was “really touched” when she walked the runway with Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Carla Bruni again.
The supermodels reunited in 2017 for Versace’s spring/summer 2018 show and the Danish beauty admitted she never expected the huge positive reaction to the presentation, despite admitting it was a “very special” moment.
She told You magazine: “Not in my wildest dreams did I think it [the show] would have that effect.
“It was very special. We girls had grown up together doing this strange and unique job, and for us to feel that reaction, years later, really touched me.
“It was the togetherness that made it special to me. I was next to my girls! We really have a lot of love for each other.”
The 50-year-old star works hard to keep in shape with boxing, yoga and dance sessions but also likes to “incorporate nature” into her fitness regime.
She explained: “‘I think it’s important to shake it up and do as many different forms of workout as possible, but also to incorporate nature into them.
“Swim in the ocean, swim in rivers, swim in lakes. Hiking, trekking, chopping wood – it’s the best way of working out, because it doesn’t really feel like a workout. It feels like you’re alive.
“This summer, several times a day, I would go down to the beach and sprint barefoot with my dog, jump in the ocean and just move around like crazy in the water. It’s where I feel the calmest, happiest, most stable. It’s just the Viking mentality.
“I have this yearning to be near water. It’s almost an obsession. If I woke up one morning and had a mermaid tail, it wouldn’t surprise me.”

Stella McCartney calls for industry changes

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney has urged the fashion industry to come together and make “systemic, sustainable changes”.
The 48-year-old designer has urged others to follow her lead and do more to respond to the “crisis” facing the business because of the levels of pollution and environmental damage it causes.
She wrote in an open letter: “The fashion industry is at a crossroads, and I believe that this is a moment for us to come together to achieve systemic, sustainable change in our industry.
“The fashion industry is one of the most polluting and damaging industries in the world. Every single second, the equivalent of one rubbish truck of textiles is sent to landfill or burnt.
“The fashion industry accounts for more than a third of ocean microplastics, while textile dyeing is the second largest polluter of clean water globally. If nothing changes, by 2050 the fashion industry will be using up to a quarter of the world’s carbon budget.
“This way of working is not sustainable. The world is crying out for change, and it is our responsibility to act now… The science is clear, and we need to do more than just incremental shifts; keeping business as usual is no longer an option.”
As well as encouraging rental, resale and recycling of clothing, Stella wants companies to embrace new “tools” and “innovators” to create their garments.
In the letter, which was published int he Sunday Times Style magazine, she wrote: “The next step, which is where I am leading my business, is to shift towards circularity and reuse what we already have on the planet — helping to reduce the need for a high quantity of new raw materials.
“The Ellen MacArthur Foundation tells us that only 1% of textiles are recycled back into textiles each year — this is simply unacceptable. Supporting innovators will help to drastically increase this number, but we need this shift now.
“Companies we work with, like Econyl and Evrnu, are enabling true textile-to-textile recycling. More brands could help these innovators scale, and governments should support their development.
“For decades the fashion industry has relied on the same 10 to 12 fibres to make almost all of our garments, and I believe that it is time for us to add some new tools to our toolbox. Incredible innovators like Bolt Threads are using cutting-edge technology and biology to develop new textiles and materials.
“They are reimagining what the building blocks of our industry could be, and we are working closely with them as they develop incredible mycelium-based ‘leather’, grown in a lab and not harming a single creature in the process.
“The production of leather, which can account for up to 10% of the commercial value of a cow, shares full responsibility for the same environmental hazards as the meat industry; most critically, it is a leading cause of climate change. I believe with these new technologies that we are on the brink of something very exciting.”
