Heidi Klum likes having fun with accessories

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Klum loves “having a little fun with accessories”.
The supermodel has designed a Minnie Mouse headband – which is available for purchase at Disneyland and Walt Disney World – and has confessed she really enjoys dressing up.
She told People magazine: “I love doing all of these things. I love fantasy and I love dressing up and having a little fun with accessories. There need to be people who make magical things, and I want to be that person who spreads joy and comes up with beautiful things for people to wear!”
Heidi prefers to use accessories rather than put lots of make up on and recently revealed she encourages her daughter not to “pile on” make-up.
She said: “There’s so much make-up and contouring these days, it’s hard to keep up. But when Leni is playing in the mirror, I always say ‘you’re gorgeous, you don’t need to pile on the make-up’ I try to make them understand they look great the way they are.”
And when it comes to her own routine, Heidi credits regular exfoliation for her youthful looks, stating that bi-weekly exfoliation with Apricot Kernel Oil, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E is the key to keeping her skin “rejuvenated”.
She said: “I do like a scrub. It’s called Aapri. You can get it at the drugstore, because I believe it’s good to exfoliate twice a week. You know, it keeps your skin rejuvenating, making new skin over and over again.”

Camila Cabello: The ageing process is ‘beautiful’

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello thinks the ageing process is “beautiful”.
The ‘Never Be The Same’ hitmaker can’t wait to get older and is looking forward to the day she can “wear her age with pride”.
She told Elle.co.uk: “As I get older I realise that the ageing process is so beautiful. I love and admire women like Oprah [Winfrey] who’s talked about wearing your age with pride a lot.
“It’s so ingrained in our culture to carry our age as this badge of shame and to not want to tell people how old we are. Instead, we should be celebrating how many years we’ve lived. Looking at it in a different way is so important – I want to be a woman who looks at it like that.”
Camila Cabello has collaborated with L’Oreal Paris but she previously admitted she was “hesitant” about creating her own make-up line.
She said: “They asked if I would be interested in collaborating with them on a make-up line. It was the first make-up collaboration that they’ve done with one of their spokeswomen. So I was a little bit hesitant because music has definitely always been my focus and always will be, and I’m very picky about the things that I do and the things I do with the little time off I have from my shows and my music.
“But I was really into the idea because I realised I don’t pretend to be a make-up mogul like Rihanna or Kylie. I don’t know how to do fancy make-up tricks – fancy eyeshadow, fancy contouring – I don’t know how to do any of that. But I just realised with this line I don’t have to pretend to be anything I’m not. The products are all products that I wear, and that I would wear on a day off.”

“With every pink style purchased, you’ll help the @ClaraLionelFdn fund critical research for this lesser known group of young women living with aggressive forms of breast cancer.

The VIP Box features a scalloped lace bralette and Brazilian knicker set in pink, a pair of ribbed knit trousers in cotton candy, and a pack of Savage-themed dominoes.
The ‘Stay’ hitmaker wanted to create something that was easy for customers to shop.

The limited edition Thrivers range comes off the back of the release of her new Fenty collection.
The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker showed off her new workwear-inspired collection at Paris Fashion Week and just hours later it launched on the Fenty website.
The new collection is a see-now-buy-now one and also features graphic t-shirts and a selection of denim pieces as well as a black turtle neck jumper.

Rita Ora has always been proud of her curvy figure

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has always been “really into” her body and loves the feeling of empowerment she gets from showing her figure off.
The 28-year-old singer is known for her flesh-flashing red carpet dresses and daring stage outfits and she also isn’t shy to share bikini pictures on her Instagram account, and Rita insists her curvaceous shape has always given a lot of body confidence and she enjoys showing it off.
In an interview with Vogue.co.uk, she said: “I’ve always been really into my body, having the ability to show off what I’ve got, have confidence in myself – I’m not the skinniest in the world but I’m OK with having curves, I’m OK with wearing fashion, wearing things that people might think are a bit crazy. It’s about having fun.”
Rita credits her mother Vera with giving her that confidence and she is proud that her mum, even at the age of 55, makes an effort to look glamorous and have fun on her own Instagram account.
The ‘Let You Love Me’ hitmaker said: “Her Instagram is so funny – she’s verified, and she lets everybody know it.”
Rita’s willingness to embrace her own individual style began when she was a teenager growing up in London and she loved to customise her clothes.
The pop star – who is a brand ambassador for Escada and the global ambassador for Thomas Sabo – said: “As a teenager, I would wear things that I could afford: ripped up jeans, things I’d made, cheap stuff from Portobello. People would ask, ‘Oh, where’s that from?’ and I’d lie and pretend it was expensive.”

Poppy Delevingne’s model inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Poppy Delevingne channels Twiggy with her make up choices.
The model and actress loves to use the Lancome Babydoll mascara to emulate the supermodel’s long luscious lashes.
Asked what three make up items she’d pick, she told London’s Evening Standard: “That’s really hard. A concealer. Mascara – it gives Twiggy vibes. I always really like that. And the third would probably have to be a lipstick.”
Meanwhile, Poppy previously admitted she believes the fashion industry can be “quite suffocating” at times as “things are out of your control”.
Speaking about her career, the blonde-haired beauty said: “When you are a model, all those things are out of your control. You don’t really have a voice and that can be quite suffocating and frustrating … [Pandora] she always taught me I could wear what I like as long as it made me happy. She was always, like, ‘Be Wild, be bonkers, be louche, it doesn’t matter. So she taught us to be ourselves. And my dad has tremendous amounts of courage and patience. When I was modelling he always saw me at my worst. He’d be like ‘Another day on the battleground darling? Perseverance darling.'”
And Poppy feels there is a “huge stigma” surrounding models who turn to acting.
She shared: “I think there’s a huge stigma. I think a lot of people think they go hand-in-hand, they go ‘Oh you’re a model, you can just slip into the acting thing’, and you’re like, ‘it doesn’t really work like that’. Directors, casting directors, producers, you’ve got to really prove yourself to them.
“For me, acting has always been my passion, it just somehow got waylaid, but now it’s been reignited, it’s been like starting a whole new job at 30, which is very weird – it feels like the first day at school whenever I’m doing anything.”

Jourdan Dunn wanted calf implants

OHMYGOSSIP — Jourdan Dunn considered having calf implants when she was younger.
The 29-year-old model admitted she struggled with insecurity about her body, in particular because she wasn’t as curvy as other members of her family.
She said: “Being a young girl, growing up in the industry and having your insecurities get you jobs – it’s highlighted.
“Being Caribbean, everybody in my family has curves. My mum is curvy, my cousins.
“Then seeing music videos…being at home and pretending I’m a video girl, then realising I can’t be a video girl because I ain’t got that to be backing it up, but, whatever, I’m going to still shake it! That was definitely a thing.
“When I was younger, I was actually thinking of having calf implants.”
Jourdan – who has nine-year-old son Riley from a previous relationship – admitted she felt frustrated when she was a “lone voice” calling out racism in the fashion industry.
She told the November issue of Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I just said what was on my mind. I did start feeling like a lone voice because I felt like, ‘I’m being vocal and my peers are being silent.’
“I was like, ‘I don’t want to talk about this anymore. Why am I the only one? You’re going through the same thing. You look like me.'”
But now, the model thinks people are much more vocal about important causes and she can only see more progress being made.
She said: “Everybody comes together and backs each other now. It’s not just one person.
“What I love about this generation is that everyone’s so fearless and everyone has a voice – people are not gonna let things slide anymore.
“I don’t believe that it can go backwards because people won’t allow it.”

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen want brave customers

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen want The Row to encourage their customers to be more “brave”.
The 33-year-old fashionistas are opening their first London store and hope shoppers will learn to “trust” them and encourage them to be more experimental with their looks.
Ashley said: “We’ve always seen The Row as being able to offer more than just what we do… And I think the more time that goes by and the more we’re able to gain clients that trust us, and the story we can tell. It makes you want to try brave things and try new things.”
Although the twins insisted they were aware of the current political climate in the UK when they decided to launch the store, experience has taught them it won’t necessarily have a long-term impact on business.
Ashley said: “London is super international. You can connect and have people touch the brand who don’t have as much access to it. Plus, it’s nice to have an excuse to be here, to be in Europe… to be outside of LA or New York.”
Mary-Kate added to Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I think we’re always aware of the political climate everywhere – but I also don’t think that that necessarily needs to dictate what ends up happening in three or five or 10 years from now.
“You have to be aware, but we’ve been through a few of these political-economic changes; we started our business in 2008, the year before the crash, and if we’d let that stop us…”
Their new UK premises used to be a bank and then a gallery and while they have echoed their New York and Los Angeles stores with the use of artwork, they think they have put together a “unique” setting for their wares.
Mary-Kate said: “We wanted to keep the same elements of art in the space [as we have in New York and LA].
“But furniture-wise it feels unique – it balances out the coldness that could happen in a gallery space, creates some warmth.”

Maisie Williams likes to match boyfriend

OHMYGOSSIP — Maisie Williams likes to “match” her outfits to her boyfriend’s.
The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress stepped out with Reuben Selby at Paris Fashion Week in similar plaid ensembles and the 22-year-old star admitted they like to complement each other with their wardrobe choices.
She said: “This is my outfit, I love it because you see how the skirt is just a little inch lower than the coat. This is Reuben”
Reuben said: “I’m wearing a jump suit, it looks like two-pieces but it’s not. We like to pair up.”
Maisie added: “We like to wear matching outfits. Like a 70-year-old couple.”
The actress is enjoying experimenting with her style now ‘Game of Thrones’ is over because she was conscious not to look too “grown up” while playing tomboy Arya Stark.
She said: “I think when you’re a young actress its exciting and you want to look grown up and i was conscious not to do that at the beginning of my career because even when I was like 16 or 18, I still looked 12, 14, so that’s really powerful when you’re an actor and playing younger is one of your most valuable things.”
And the British actress confessed to feeling “ashamed” of her appearance while on the show because producers tried to hide her more “mature” figure.
Speaking in a ’24 Hours With…’ video for Vogue, she said: “A couple of seasons in the middle, my body started to mature and I started to become a woman.
“But Arya was still very much trying to be disguised as a boy.
“I had really short hair and they covered me in dirt and shaved my nose so it looked really broad. They put a strap across my chest to flatten any growth that had started.
“That just felt horrible for six months of the year and I felt a bit ashamed for a while.
“So, with this new phase of my style, it is nice to look more feminine and have a real waistline and embrace the body that I have.”

Angelina Jolie explains infamous Oscars dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Angelina Jolie wore her infamous high-slit dress to the 2012 Academy Awards because it was “comfortable”.
The 44-year-old actress became a viral sensation when she showed off her leg in a long black gown alongside then-husband Brad Pitt on the red carpet seven years ago and she admitted she’d initially planned to wear something “more complicated”, but ultimately felt more like herself in the other gown.
Speaking at the premiere of her new movie ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ earlier this week, she told ‘Extra’: “There’s a whole longer story behind that — I had a more complicated dress and I wore the more comfortable dress, which was that one, and I think I was just so comfortable that.
“I think when you feel comfortable, when you feel yourself — which is very much the theme of the film, and we know this in life — you embrace it. And sometimes, maybe it appears to be a thing, I don’t know.”
For this week’s premiere, Angelina played it safe in a black Versace gown – and revealed she had a “secret” slit in the dress.
She said: “You never know if it’s going to be pink in theme, because it could be…
“I have some panels that are see-through, so we have a secret slit, actually.”
The brunette beauty was accompanied to the premiere by her five youngest children but she’s gearing up to visit the eldest, Maddox, 18, who recently left for university in South Korea because she “needs” to hug him.
She said: “He’s good. But he’s flying to meet me in Japan. So I am two days from my hug.
“He’s great. I know he is solid, he’s fine, but I need it.”

Amber Herad praises L’Oréal Paris for diversity and empowerment

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Heard has heaped praise on L’Oréal Paris for not choosing their brand ambassadors based on “superficial qualities”.
The ‘Aquaman’ actress became a Global Spokesperson for the beauty brand in 2018 and she was thrilled to be joining the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Jane Fonda and Elle Fanning in promoting their products and work, and she says it was great to see them put an “emphasis” on “empowerment” and “diversity”.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “When they came to me, I saw the line-up of their spokespeople and I knew I was in good company.
“From actors to models to gold medallists and signers – they chose and were choosing representatives not for their superficial qualities, ones that I frankly see as a waste of time to put too much internal stock into.
“Instead, I see a true emphasis on real empowerment, strength, diversity of experiences and accolades.”
The 33-year-old star previously admitted it was “such an honour” working for a brand whose spokespeople “represent a voice, a power, a movement” and “opinion”.
She said: “I have always loved the fun of beauty and the power of transformation.
“To become a spokesperson for this dynamic, world-loved beauty brand that’s been telling women we’re worth it since before I was born, and to join the L’Oréal Paris family of changemakers is such an honour.
“I feel like these women – my fellow ambassadors – represent a voice, a power, a movement, an opinion.”
Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, L’Oréal Paris Global President, hailed Amber “a powerful ambassador”.
He commented: “One of a new generation of actresses rewriting the script when it comes to having a voice in the world, the energy Amber Heard brings to her philanthropy, to her advocacy and to her performances make her a powerful ambassador for L’Oréal Paris as we take ‘Because I’m Worth It’ beauty into 2018.”

Victoria Beckham’s favourite Spice Girls look was for Goodbye

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham’s favourite Spice Girls look is in the ‘Goodbye’ music video.
The 45-year-old fashion designer – who was also known as Posh Spice in the girl group – was expecting her eldest child, Brooklyn, now 20, in the 2000 promo and she says she always has a “smile” on her face when she watches the video back because she loved the “natural” make-up, her “chic” black Jil Sander dress and her pregnancy glow.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, she said: “My favourite Spice Girls look would be the ‘Goodbye’ video actually.
“I was actually pregnant with Brooklyn at the time and I had a little short pixie haircut, I was wearing a Jil Sander dress, which was super chic, and just really natural, nice make-up.
“I was at that stage of pregnancy when you are a little bit glowy.
“It was just very natural and I look back at that video and it really does make me smile because I had little Brooklyn in my tummy.”
Victoria – who also has Romeo, 17, and Cruz, 14, and eight-year-old daughter Harper with husband David Beckham – recently launched her first beauty range and says the aim is just the same as when she was in the ‘Viva Forever’ group, “empowering women” and making them feel like “the best versions of themselves”.
She said: “It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do.
“So the fact it is finally happening, I feel excited, I feel nervous.
“I am just excited to share this women everywhere.
“I started in the Spice Girls by empowering women through music and now it’s about empowering women through fashion, and now it’s about empowering women through beauty and making people feel, like I said before, like the best versions of themselves.”
The mother-of-four – who launched her eponymous-titled fashion empire in September 2008 -also revealed that she wears minimal make-up when she is doing the school run and in the office, but amps it up on the red carpet.
She said: “It depends, if I am doing the school run then I won’t really have a lot of make-up on at all.
“But then if I just run into the office I keep my make-up on quite light, but if I am going to red carpet event then I will wear something heavier.”

Paris Hilton launching 25th perfume

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton is launching her 25th fragrance.
The 38-year-old star has created a new perfume which is inspired by her DJ career and the euphoric feeling she gets when she has an entire club dancing to her music.
Speaking about her inspiration for the scent, she said: “What I love most about being a DJ is the burst of energy I get on stage and bringing happiness to a crowd of people. I wanted to capture that feeling in a scent and celebrate the confident woman who is the life of the party.”
“Electrify was inspired by nightlife, me DJing, and just being on stage and performing in front of people and that amazing feeling I get where I feel like I’m electrified.”
Paris partnered with IFF Senior perfumer Yves Cassar to develop Electrify and it has notes of Scarlett Apple, Spring Peony, Magnolia and Turkish Rose among others within its aroma.
Paris released her first signature scent, Paris Hilton for Women, in 2004 and after it became an international best-seller she followed it up with Paris Hilton for Men the same year.
The Hilton hotel heir admits she always dreamed of having her own perfume as a child but she never thought she’d bring out 25 different products.
In an interview with WWD, she said: “When I was a little girl, I always thought I would have one perfume. I had no idea I would have 25 one day.
“The first product I ever released was my perfume. It was such a huge success that I started expanding my empire. I now have 19 product lines, everything from skin care, makeup, perfumes, handbags, sunglasses, clothes, jewellery, lingerie, homeware -basically, every type of product you could think of.”

Stella McCartney grateful for upbringing

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney credits her upbringing for her passion for sustainable fashion.
The 48-year-old designer is keen to push for “better practice” in the industry and she admitted her own outlook was heavily influenced by her parents, Paul McCartney and his late wife Linda, and is thankful newcomers to the trade want to work somewhere “with ethics”.
She said: “What I do every day in my place of work is to practice a better practice in the fashion industry. I was privileged; I grew up on an organic farm, I saw the seasons, and my parents were vegetarians and change agents, so I had a privilege already in that way of looking at the world.
“But I took it into my work. And I was lucky enough that I’m a boss–I am really lucky.
“But I find now that the people who want to work in the fashion industry–and even more so in five years or 10 years or 15 years–they want to work in a company that has ethics.”
Stella thinks conversations about sustainability are at the forefront right now and she thinks there’s a number of questions which fashion designers need to ask.
Speaking during a roundtable discussion before her Paris Fashion Week show, she said: “How are you making old clothes into new clothes? And how are you making that a business? That’s got to be something that the fashion industry starts to take seriously. Resale, renting clothing, vintage. That kind of conversation is definitely at the forefront now.”
But the designer thinks it’s a subject that needs to be raised more with older generations.
She said: “There’s a greenwashing happening everywhere. So how can we encourage not only the youth–because hopefully, God, hopefully, they feel it and they’ve got it in them–how can we turn the light on amongst the people who are a bit older? If you can answer that you should be basically running for Prime Minister!”

Frank Ocean’s style inspired by Keanu Reeves

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Ocean’s fashion inspiration is Keanu Reeves.
The 31-year-old singer was a big fan of the way the actor looked in his 1997 movie ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ because he liked the way his accessories complimented his outfits.
He said: “I was feeling how Keanu Reeves looked in ‘The Devil’s Advocate’. He would wear a sports coat and tie with a button-collar Oxford sort of deal–the best hair, and the light-wash denims and the belt that matched the shoes.”
When it comes to getting ready for the day, Frank thinks about “shape” first and then chooses the “pieces” that will give him the look he’s thinking of.
He explained to W magazine: “I start with the shape and then I just slot in the pieces, so I get that shape and go about my day.”
The ‘Thinkin’ Bout You’ hitmaker also revealed another unlikely inspiration, the late Joan Rivers – who died in 2014 from surgery complications aged 81 – as he loved her “unapologetic” attitude to life.
He said: “[Joan Rivers] Rest in Peace. My legend…She was sick! I mean, unapologetic. I think that ‘F**k who sees me’ energy, ‘This is what I am giving. Period’ is what I relate to in ballroom culture – it’s this extroversion manifest.”
Frank tries to push himself every day to do something to “rebel” against himself and stop himself from becoming “unproductive”.
He explained: “I do something every day just to rebel against this nonverbal part of my personality that would have me be unproductive.
“So whether it’s taking a cold shower or a new physical challenge, it’s something to activate the other part of myself that wants to be productive and get things done.”

Dame Helen Mirren doesn’t ‘agree’ with beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren doesn’t “agree” with the word beauty.
The 74-year-old actress believes the concept is “weird” and shouldn’t only be thought of in terms of appearance and she thinks optimism and joy are essential to life.
She said: “Try to find joy in your life, wherever you can, and be optimistic as far as is possible.
“Because I think this weird thing called ‘beauty’ (which I’m not too sure I altogether agree with that word), has many different forms, and only one form is the outward form of your physicality. There are many other ways of being and feeling beautiful.”
The ‘Red’ actress walked in the L’Oréal’s Le Défilé show at Paris Fashion Week over the weekend and though she was “terrified” of falling over on the runway, she felt it was important for people like her to help bring diversity to the catwalk.
She told HarpersBazaar.com: “It’s been a long time coming, but finally – hopefully – it’s arrived, or is arriving. I’m so happy that I witnessed that and it’s come in my lifetime.”
The fashion show was open to the public, rather than just invited guests, and Helen thinks that helped spread the message of accessibility.
She added: “Everybody’s entitled to look the best they can, to feel great, to enjoy doing their hair or putting on make-up, or a dress or suit. It should be open and accessible to everyone, and not just a select few who only look this way.”
However, the screen legend still thinks the beauty industry needs to do more work to fulfill the needs of her generation.
She said: “Certainly I think more needs to be done in the development of products. Although L’Oréal in particular with their Age Perfect products, are fantastic.
“I very rarely colour my hair, but if I do, I’ll use the Age Perfect hair product because it really works. It’s multifaceted, you get lots of different tones in your hair.”

Zendaya’s beauty therapy

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya finds putting make-up on “theraputic”.
The ‘Greatest Showman’ actress regards using cosmetics as a “hobby” because it gives her the same sense of relaxation that others find from activities such as painting.
She said: “For me, [applying] makeup is a hobby. It eases my mind the same way someone would enjoy painting. It’s therapeutic; it calms me down.”
Zendaya enjoys doing her own make-up for red carpets and mascara is her “all-time favourite” product for events.
She told Allure magazine: “I have my all-time favourite slash go-to: Lancôme’s Hypnôse mascara. Mascara is a very special thing. Everyone has their favourite and that one just works for me.”
The ‘Euphoria’ actress remembers experimenting with make-up from a young age.
She said: “My mom had really old make-up that I’d play with. I’d try avant-garde stuff — crazy circles all over. We had a great time, but it was this cruddy ’80s make-up that had definitely expired.”
The 23-year-old star has picked up a lot of tips over the years but learned the importance of not using too much heat on her hair the hard way.
She explained: “When I hit 15, [my hair] had been so fried [on sets] that it was falling out in the sink. Heat is the enemy.
“I find other ways to achieve the styles I want — pin-curling overnight, a roller set under a dryer with low, cool air. It takes more time, but it’s worth it.”
Zendaya is proud to be the new face of Lancôme.
She said: “Lancôme has always been one of those staple brands. I think we all [think about] Lancôme and then you see the rose in your head, and [their products] have a very signature style — it’s beautiful. [And now that I’m] going into adulthood and becoming a woman, Lancôme felt like the perfect place where I could take that next step and elevate. It’s very exciting and it’s crazy.”
