Kim Kardashian West’s daughter North West is obsessed with skincare

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West’s daughter North West is obsessed with skincare.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star has revealed her six-year-old has become more into skincare now after her father Kanye West banned her from wearing make up.
Speaking to Allure, she said: “She’s found it really fun to do a face mask. I’ll get her sheet masks, and if she’s having a sleepover, I’ll do a mask with the girls. They think it’s so funny for some reason. I don’t know why. They just think they’re so fascinating.”
Kim had previously revealed that her daughter North loves to play with make-up.
She said: “I actually had to put her on our P.R. list and get her own set of makeup this time, because she destroys all of mine when she sees it, and then I can’t use it for myself. So, she definitely loves makeup. If she loves it enough, she can definitely take it over, whatever she wants to do [when] she is old enough, she can do. But her new favourite thing ever is … closing the door [to her room] with one of her friends or her dolls and doing makeovers. No one can see until the final look is done or she will freak out and cry. She loves a before and after.”
And although Kim has received criticism from some fans for letting North put make-up on at such a young age, the beauty insists there’s no harm because she isn’t going outside with a “full face on”.
She added: “I feel like my parents were a little bit more strict on me wearing makeup at that age. I had more play makeup that didn’t really work. So as long as we keep everything clean and don’t make too much of a mess on things, I’m fine with her expressing herself and having fun with it. It’s not like we are going out and she wants a full face of makeup. It is just at home and playing.”

Anwar Hadid’s very comfortable with personal style

OHMYGOSSIP — Anwar Hadid is “very comfortable” with his personal style.
The model loves to customise his own outfits and put his own spin on his clothing.
Asked about his personal style, he said: “It’s always been very comfortable. I sew my own clothes. I’ve always loved all different types …
“I like to express myself in whatever I feel suits my energy at that point. I just kind of do whatever makes me happy. Everyone is allowed to express themselves freely.”
And the 20-year-old star feels lucky to have his siblings Bella and Gigi Hadid giving him advice about personal style and modelling.
Sharing what advice his sisters Bella and Gigi, both models, gave to him, he added: “Try to be yourself and be confident and comfortable.
“Also, wear the clothes and don’t let them wear you. For modelling, you’re an extension of someone else’s creation and vision. You have to honour that.”
When it comes to fashion, Anwar likes to design too.
He shared to People: “I learned a lot about design through modelling. I wanted to be a designer in 2014 before I wrote music or modelled or anything like that. I have a project coming out in the next couple of months with shirts, which is exciting.”

Kesha’s ‘rainbow’ inspired makeup line

OHMYGOSSIP — Kesha has a “rainbow” inspired makeup line coming out.
The ‘Tik Tok’ hitmaker has revealed her new collection will be called Kesha Rose Beauty and will feature her “favourite bright, insane rainbow- and earth- and nature-inspired colours”.
She said: “I actually have a makeup line coming out called Kesha Rose, and it’s all my favourite bright, insane rainbow- and earth- and nature-inspired colours. I don’t even really like using the word ‘beauty’ because it’s more about expressing yourself. It’s about redefining what beauty means to you. Beautiful is happiness and happiness is beautiful, so that’s what I am trying to encourage with the makeup line and with the record.”
The 32-year-old singer bases her makeup looks on her “floating aura”, which she says changes from day to day.
She added: “Quite frankly, I feel like I am just a floating aura and my aura changes colours from day-to-day, and I want to be able to express that with my [makeup]. It’s not about feeling perfect or trying to look perfect or perfectly symmetrical or anything like that, it’s about being happy and having fun. So, I want people to play with it and have fun with it and hopefully feel like they’re expressing their auras and souls through makeup and not so concerned with looking like some perfectly symmetrical, filtered Instagram thing.”
Kesha thinks the beauty standards that are set by society are “bulls**t” and insists no one has to “adhere” to anything they don’t want to.
She told Refinery29: “I have always loved playing with beauty as its own art form. More so, as I grow up, I see that beauty standards that are set by society are bulls**t, and we don’t have to adhere to any of it that we don’t agree with. I encourage people to have fun and play with not only your clothes but art and makeup.”

Kanye West wants eco-friendly Yeezy brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West wants his Yeezy brand to be eco-friendly.
The ‘Bound 2’ rapper feels it is important to create his own “hydroponic cotton, wheat, hemp” and fabrics for his fashion range and is working to achieve it.
Speaking to Zane Lowe for Beats 1, he said: “I was looking for a place to set up the Yeezy campus. I was like wow, these are actually the Yeezy tones right here. It actually is the palette. We’re building farms here because of the climate and because of the soil and hydroponic cotton, wheat, hemp and we’re developing our own fabrics so we’re going to go from seed to sow from the farming table so we can see the entire process.”
Meanwhile, it was recently claimed that Kanye’s Yeezy brand is expected to top $1.5 billion in sales this year, Forbes has predicted.
Kanye – who still owns 100 per cent of the Yeezy brand – compared the range to luxury Lamborghini vehicles, and revealed he loves to create products and “problem-solve”.
He said: “I am a product guy at my core. To make products that make people feel an immense amount of joy and solve issues and problems in their life, that’s the problem-solving that I love to do. There’s a little bit of Lamborghini in everything I do. Yeezy is the Lamborghini of shoes.”
Kanye had a successful long-running partnership with Adidas after they agreed to pay him royalties, and the rapper likes to make limited quantities of his trainer releases because it helps the brand stay relevant and “sell”.
He added: “What makes celebrity products sell so well is scarcity. So if they make it too broadly available, I think it crashes the business model.”
And the ‘Life of Pablo’ hitmaker went on to insist that there is still lots more to come from his Yeezy and Adidas partnership.
He shared: “We’ve yet to see all of the beauty that would be manifested through this partnership. We’ve only experienced a small glimmer of light.”

Bella and Gigi Hadid’s styles ‘are always evolving’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella and Gigi Hadid’s fashion tastes are “constantly evolving”, according to their stylist.
Mimi Cuttrell has worked with the world-famous models over recent years, and claims to know which specific looks are most appropriate for the sisters.
Speaking about whether she knows if a style is more Gigi or Bella-appropriate, Mimi shared: “I have spent so much time learning my clients’ individual likes and dislikes, observing and understanding their personal style, and knowing what works best on their bodies.
“It’s difficult to differentiate between the girls in just a few words because their styles are constantly evolving and flowing.
“It has been a pleasure to grow with these two. We’ve worked together to develop and build on the style they feel most like themselves in.”
The Hadid sisters both have jam-packed working schedules and Mimi – whose client list also includes the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Lily-Rose Depp – always tries to ensure she’s available to her employers.
She told Vogue: “I want to be awake and available no matter what time zone. I make myself available whether that is sending pictures or FaceTiming for any last-minute changes and updates.”
Meanwhile, Mimi also revealed she seeks to stay up-to-date with pop culture in order to inform her style tastes.
She said: “I try to continuously stay up-to-date on relevant pop culture and news outside of fashion in order to best represent my style and my clients.
“Fashion has the power to be extremely culturally informative, so it’s crucial that stylists are aware of what is going on outside of the industry in an effort to best inform our creative process and ultimately our style decisions.”

Danielle Brooks reveals her maternity-wear struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Brooks has felt like “a fish out of water” during her pregnancy.
The 30-year-old actress – who is best known for her starring role in ‘Orange Is the New Black’ – announced her pregnancy to the world in July, but subsequently found it tough to find flattering clothing for her plus-size figure.
She shared: “I wanted to feel amazing and beautiful in clothing, but I felt like a fish out of water.
“When you’re plus-size it’s harder; people think you can just size up, but it doesn’t quite work that way because everyone’s body is so different.
“What’s expanding most of all is your stomach, and for me, my arms might not fit that size up. A pair of pants might be too long because you sized up. It was more work than I thought it was going to be.”
But Danielle recently teamed up with Universal Standard, a size-inclusive brand, and the actress is proud of the maternity range they’ve created together.
Asked about her favourite piece in the range, she told InStyle: “A cami-type dress is my favourite.
“Any dress that I can throw on and not have to worry about jeans, because I have not put on a pair of jeans, probably, since I’ve been four or five months pregnant. And the thing is, you can layer it.
“I can put a turtleneck underneath for more warmth and still look really cute. And change the colour – do a black turtleneck with a grey dress or vice versa.”

Roland Mouret: Plastic hangers are the ‘plastic straw’ of the fashion industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Roland Mouret thinks plastic hangers are the “plastic straw” of the fashion industry.
The 58-year-old designer has recently developed a recyclable clothes hanger in an effort to end the use of plastic ones, revealing that his creation is made from 80 percent recycled plastic recovered from the sea and 20 percent recyclable plastic.
Roland – who created the environmentally-friendly hangers with the help of the firm Arch and Hook – told the BBC: “A beautiful garment has to be hanged on a hanger and has to be carried by van to the store.
“In that travel, we use single use plastic hangers that we throw away straight away after, and they’re all polystyrene and polystyrene is not recyclable.”
According to the French designer, his hanger is “fully sustainable”.
Explaining its virtues, he added: “I think it’s stronger than a normal hanger, but at the moment, if you break it, it’s completely recyclable.
“You can have something that becomes so circular that nothing goes back to the sea.”
What’s more, Roland cited the desire for fast fashion as one of the reasons behind mounting environmental concerns.
He said: “One of the trends of the 90s was the must-have [item of clothing], and the must-have was treated as an addiction.
“Every time if you don’t buy it, you’re going to be unhappy and if you buy it, you can throw it away. We thought it would carry on, it fell apart. It’s falling apart now and that’s why we have to make a change.”

Lily James grateful for make-up help

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily James feels “grateful” for her make-up artists.
The ‘Cinderella’ actress is in awe of the way cosmetics experts can change her face with the use of products and thinks they are like “magicians” because they can create such dramatic transformations.
She said: “We’re so lucky to get professionals to do our make-up. It does make a huge difference because of the ways in which they shade and contour. It is like being a magician, being a great makeup artist, so I do feel really grateful. The transformation from when you get in the chair to afterward is really huge.”
The 30-year-old actress used to “over pluck” her eyebrows and couldn’t believe the transformation to her face when she finally grew them out for a role.
She told Allure magazine: “I used to over pluck my eyebrows. When I first started acting, it was almost like they were one hair thick.
“Then, for a character, this director told me — I was playing a 14 year old — he told me to grow out my eyebrows.
“My whole face just changed. It was a really exciting moment, and luckily they did grow back. Now, I basically pluck them as little as possible.
“I do fill them in a little bit ’cause I’ve got gaps, and I brush them. Sometimes I like to use a bit of eyebrow gel.”
And Lily learned some more tips for her brows from her make-up artist.
She added: “Mary Greenwell, my amazing makeup artist, she always uses a toothbrush on my eyebrows, so I started copying her. It’s not the same one I brush my teeth with, but I just brush them upwards with a toothbrush.”

Lili Reinhart wants ‘super short’ hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Lili Reinhart wants “super short” hair.
The 23-year-old actress is keen to chop her mid-length blonde tresses drastically but will have to wait until she’s finished work on ‘Riverdale’ because of her character Betty Cooper’s trademark style.
She said: “I’d love to get my hair cut super short once ‘Riverdale’ is over.
“I have to wait though.
“As much as I want a chin-length bob — I think I would love it — you just can’t put short hair up in a ponytail.”
As well as her role in ‘Riverdale’, Lili was recently seen portraying Annabelle, a stripper in 2003, in ‘Hustlers’ and enjoyed revisiting her own “awful” teenage hair styles for the part.
She told Refinery29: “‘Hustlers’ was all about the hair poofs, like the Bumpits I used to use when I was on my middle school dance team.
“I recommended some of the hairstyles that we wore in the film. I was like, ‘Hey, we should do that awful hairstyle that I used to do when I was younger.'”
For both roles, the actress insisted on doing her own make-up and particularly enjoyed the experience on ‘Hustlers’.
She said: “I do my own make-up on ‘Riverdale’, and I knew I wanted to do it for ‘Hustlers’ as well.
“So with permission from Lorene [Scafaria], our director, I did the make-up myself — which was fun because it was a lot of products that I would never, ever use in real life, like glittery eyeshadow and some cobalt blue eyeliner.”
When she’s not working, Lili favours a simple approach to her make-up.
She said: “I’m usually a simple concealer, mascara, and eyebrow girl.
“Except when I’m on a red carpet or travelling for press interviews. Then, I’ll do a little more glam. But I’ll never make my skin orange with bronzer or do any contour. I keep it pretty natural.”

Kanye West: Clothes tell a story

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West believes clothes tell a person’s “story”.
The ‘Famous’ hitmaker insists outfits always make a “statement” and they are the best way for a person to express their personality and character.
He said: “I mean, outfits make a statement. If someone has on, I don’t know, maybe some Vans and some cut-off jeans or something, it’s like, ‘Oh, you look like you work at Milk Studios.’ There’s a look where people can say, ‘Oh, you looking like you work at Donda.’
” And Donda’s a group that I started years ago that Matt Williams from Alyx worked at, Willo Perron, an industrial designer worked at, Virgil Abloh works at, so it’s a whole crew that came from the Donda squad and the Donda camp and that has a look and a spirit.
“We have things where you look and say, ‘Okay, you look like you work at Ralph Lauren, you look like you work at GQ.’ So the outfit tells your story. It tells your personality and your character.
“There’s times where I’ll say, ‘I don’t feel Ye.’ Even when I’m putting these pants on for Sunday Service.
“I was sitting with my stylist Rene that I’ve been working with for so many years–we went to the Margiela atelier together, and did the Yeezus tour together. And when I put on the pants, I said, ‘Finally I feel like I know half of something.’ I’d always felt so stupid, for years. I was just looking at photographs of myself, and I’d say, ‘I look so stupid in this photo.’ I finally looked like I know something. So the outfit, it means a lot.”
The 42-year-old rapper – who has four children with wife Kim Kardashian West – thinks good tailoring is the key to looking good, no matter what size people are.
Speaking to GQ creative director-at-large Jim Moore in front of an audience in Chicago, he said: “People are always going to want something tailored. We are attracted to tailoring, and tailoring promotes the attributes and it’s also forgiving. A suit can really help out.
“I have a friend that was super, super, super skinny and you know, since he stopped doing a couple of, uh…recreational activities, he gained a little bit of weight.
“And he always still looks nice because he’ll have a jacket where it just falls and everything. I’m like, ‘You still pull it off.’
“Stylish people, no matter what size they are, are going to pull it off and express that, and tailoring is super important.”

Kim Kardashian West shares makeup tips

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West gets her famous pout by “overlining” her lips.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star and her siblings have been sharing their beauty tips with the world, giving some easy to do hacks to achieve their looks.
Speaking to her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s lifestyle website, Poosh, she said: “I love overlining my lips with a darker lip liner.”
Whilst Khloe Kardashian’s tip ensures you don’t waste any of your make up products, as she advised: “If you shattered one of your bronzers, eye shadows, or really any makeup, do not toss out. Gather up the broken makeup and put it back into its container. Crush up any pieces that haven’t completely broken up yet. Add a couple drops of rubbing alcohol to the crushed makeup. Use your finger, the back of a spoon, or anything, really, to rub and smooth out the alcohol and the makeup. Leave overnight.
“When you wake up in the morning, your makeup will be good as new and there will be no alcohol smell.”
Kim and Khloe’s mother Kris Jenner also shared her skincare secrets, with her tip revealed as: “Wash your face every night using a hot terry cloth washcloth. It acts as a natural exfoliant by loosening dead skin cells, opens up the pores, and softens the skin, prepping it for your night treatments.”
Kylie Jenner also has a way to keep your spray tan on for longer.
She said: “To make a spray tan last longer, moisturise with body lotion every day – my Kylie Skin Body Lotion is my go-to.”

Vicky McClure’s biggest beauty regret

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky McClure’s biggest beauty regret is “plucking her eyebrows”.
The ‘Line of Duty’ actress was urged by her mother not to touch her brows but she did anyway and now she has to fill them in constantly.
Asked what beauty advice her mother gave her, she said: “She told me not to pluck my eyebrows. I didn’t listen and she was absolutely mortified. She was right, of course. She’s always bloody right …
“When I was younger I had beautiful eyebrows like Cara Delevingne’s, but I was told you have to pluck them to smithereens, which I did. But as we all now know, they don’t grow back properly, so I’m forever filling in my eyebrows, even if I’m just popping out to buy a pint of milk.”
And the 36-year-old actress insists she would never get any surgery.
She added: “Because I’m an actor, I don’t think it’s right to have surgery. Your wrinkles are what they are; when you cry you look ugly. But I am 36. My skin is not what it used to be. I have lines around my eyes. I get those annoying milk spots. So I’m at a point where I need to look after my skin. Any anti-wrinkle cream therefore can only be a good thing.”
Vicky doesn’t care what people think of her and just ignores the “trolls”.
She told The Telegraph newspaper: “I’m not too hung up on what people think of me, to be honest. Last night, for example, I wore a stripy jumpsuit. I knew it would attract comments such as it looks like a deckchair, a barcode, a zebra crossing, but I just don’t care. The truth of it is, trolls write their insults down then move on to the next person. You have to ignore it.”

Kim Kardashian West loves that sweats are fashionable

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West loves that sweats have become “really comfortable and popular”.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star believes her husband Kanye West and his Yeezy label have made comfy clothes fashionable again and she feels “blessed” to have such an influential man in her life.
She said: “When you get to the point where you don’t care as much, it can’t be a forced thing. For Rick, it has always been so true to who he is. Everyday style you want to be effortless, but still true to who you are. So maybe heels wouldn’t be so practical all the time, but that’s who I was for so long. I would only wear heels for so long.
“I love that sweats are really comfortable and popular. I feel that Yeezy [Kanye West’s label for Adidas] has really made that a thing. I feel blessed to have learned and grown with all of the most amazing people that I admire and respect … No, I really listen to Kanye’s opinion and advice and he does the same. He’ll always get the best resources. And I always know exactly what I want to wear, so it’s a good combination.”
Kim also credits Kanye for teaching her about fashion when they first started dating.
Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily at the Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars event, where she was asked to present designer Rick Owens with an award, she added: “No matter what phase, or no matter how much I knew about fashion or how much I didn’t know about fashion, I always wore Rick. It still works with everything. I just always knew it was cool. When I knew absolutely nothing, or I didn’t know who anybody was, Kanye was introducing me to so much in fashion. One of the first things he ever got me as a gift was a Rick Owens coat. I was obsessed with these Rick jackets before I knew what was cool.”

Katharine McPhee Foster is ‘really obsessed’ with facial oil

OHMYGOSSIP — Katharine McPhee Foster is “really obsessed” with facial oil.
The ‘Scorpion’ star can’t get enough of the skincare product and likes to lather it on before she puts her make up on.
Speaking to LifeMinute.tv, she said: “I’m really obsessed with facial oil. I like pound my skin with lots of oil before I put my make up on. I think it’s a nice barrier for your skin.”
Meanwhile, Katharine previously confessed she had been “so anti-red lip” for a long time until she was forced to wear it for a television and she became obsessed with it.
She added: “I’ve always been so anti-red lip. Not anti-red lip for other people, but just for myself because I’m like, Ugh, this looks terrible. Like I hated wearing it last season [of Smash].
“But I found that I can wear red lipstick now with my dark hair by just not wearing [other] makeup, just focusing on the lip. Giorgio Armani makes these new sort of colour-stained ones – they almost feel like a lip gloss. They stay on all day, and I have them in the traditional blue-red colour, the traditional red, really deep color, and an orange-red colour. I actually brought it to set when I was doing Marilyn because I loved it so much. But I like wearing it even more just as a brunette, you know, as myself.”
From time to time, Katharine likes to have bold make up.
She shared: “I feel like every springtime or summer, it’s like, ‘go bold with this colour!’ And then I’ll go out and buy the pencil in a pretty, aquamarine colour and then I put it on with my outfit and I’m like wait, I can’t do this right!”
