Victoria Beckham unveils new Power Serum

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham has unveiled a new Power Serum.
The 45-year-old fashion designer’s company’s beauty arm Victoria Beckham Beauty has launched the Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum in collaboration with skincare specialist Dr. Augustinus Bader, after the successful release of the Victoria Beckham Beauty Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser.
Professor Augustinus Bader in a statement: “My approach to skincare is focused on trying to find innovative solutions for skin health, which can be measured by the scale of protection and care for the skin and are verified in clinical trials.
“In partnership with Victoria Beckham and her team, we took this same approach and created this amazing new serum, which respects healthy skin physiology and protects the skin barrier function. All the know-how is based upon the scientific knowledge of what our skin cells really need to work at their best.”
Victoria also shared a video of her using the serum and says she has noticed a huge difference in her “pore size and the fine lines around her eyes” since using it.
She shared: “It’s finally here!! So excited for you all to try my NEW POWER SERUM!! The science behind this serum is incredible and I can really notice a difference in my pore size and the fine lines around my eyes … I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see what you think! x Kisses VB … #PowerYourSkin #Makeupfree #VBGlow (sic)”
Victoria had previously revealed it was a “dream” to work alongside Augustinus.
In a press release at the time of the unveiling of the moisturiser, she said: “It’s been a dream to develop, with Augustinus, a priming moisturiser that works to improve the health of my skin and gives me that fresh, natural glow that I love.”

Kat Von D blames ‘influencer culture’ for beauty exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Kat Von D doesn’t think she “fits” into the beauty industry anymore.
The entrepreneur blames “influencer culture” for causing her to step away from her eponymous beauty line because felt there is now “society ideals of what beauty is” again, something which she desperately tried to break when she joined the industry.
Speaking on the Second Life podcast, she said: “I have never felt like I belonged. Not even within my own family unit. It was about making this platform for us outsiders, and we were the first brand to really voice inclusivity. It was about not fitting into what’s expected, the society ideals of what beauty is … It’s been 11 years, and I am proud of what we’ve done, but I think that the beauty industry is changing so much. And for a moment there, I felt like I did find my place in an industry … and then I think the older I get, I realise that I don’t know if I fit into it any more. [It’s got to that point] where you have influencers that are just continuously telling you that you have to buy, and if you don’t, you’re not cool … Or, ‘hey, this is what ‘beauty’ looks like!’, you know … It kind of throws me back to how I felt when I was a kid. So I feel like I stepped away from it a lot, partially on purpose.”
Last month, Kat admitted she had stepped down from her makeup company after 12 years, with it being handed over to her partners at Kendo.
She shared: “This past year has been one of great change for me. As many of you know, I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, launched my vegan shoe line, and am now busy prepping to release my long awaited album in the Spring, followed by an international tour! As much as I wish I could balance all of this, on top of continuing my makeup line, it has become clear to me that I just can’t do everything at the maximum capacity. It’s hard to admit this, since I’ve always said ‘You can do everything and anything.’ But I don’t think admitting one’s limits is a bad thing.
“With that said, I’ve decided to sell my shares of the brand, turning it over to Kendo, my partners for the past 11 years. This was not an easy decision, but after careful consideration, I decided I wanted the makeup line to continue to thrive and grow, and I believe Kendo is primed to do just that. (sic)”

Holly Willoughby’s skincare saviour

OHMYGOSSIP — Holly Willoughby has a skincare “saviour” to help her combat the early mornings.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter swears by the Liz Earle Soothing Eye Lotion – which retails for around £16 – when she is appearing on the mid-morning show.
Speaking on ITV’s This Morning during a skincare segment, she said: “I use it every morning when I’m here. I put it on two cotton wool pads and then I hold them on my eyes for about 30 seconds, or some mornings slightly longer. I feel like it just takes down that redness and that puffiness.”
Meanwhile, Holly previously revealed she is a big fan of the Garnier Skin Act Eye Mask Orange Juice.
Speaking back in 2018, she said: “These mini masks do exactly what they say on the tin – they’re packed full of moisture. Formulated with orange juice and hyaluronic acid to visibly reduce eye bags, they refresh and cool the eye area, giving your skin a wake-up call.”
Holly is grateful for the invention of make up wipes as she isn’t the “best” at remembering to take her make up off.
Speaking about her beauty blunder, she said: “I have to admit that I am not the world’s best at taking off my make-up, so the invention of make up wipes really saved my life.”
When the 38-year-old television presenter – who has Harry, 10, Belle, eight, and Chester, five, with her husband Dan Baldwin – goes abroad, she always makes sure to take some beauty essentials with her in her beach bag.
She shared: “To maintain a relaxed, natural look on holiday, I keep a few make-up essentials in my beach bag.”

Billie Eilish dresses in leisurewear to shut up trolls

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish dresses in leisurewear to stop people commenting on her body.
The 18-year-old singer chooses to walk the red carpets in tracksuits and baggy jumpers so trolls can’t judge her figure or her weight.
In an interview with the new US issue of Vogue magazine – of which she is the cover star – Billie said: “Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath.
“Nobody can be like, ‘She’s slim-thick,’ ‘She’s not slim-thick,’ ‘She’s got a flat ass,’ ‘She’s got a fat ass.'”
The pop star first developed her distinct style at a young age whilst she was fighting body issues that contributed to her depression.
Billie started puberty early and she didn’t feel mentally prepared for the changes her body was going through.
She said: “I just hated my body. I would have done anything to be in a different one. I really wanted to be a model, really bad, and I was chubby and short. I developed really early. I had boobs at nine. I got my period at 11. So my body was going faster than my brain.
“It’s funny, because when you’re a little kid, you don’t think of your body at all. And all of a sudden, you look down and you’re, like, ‘Whoa. What can I do to make this go away?”
As a youngster, the ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker always enjoyed creating her own clothes by cutting up thrift shop items and sewing them together.
She said: “I just wanted to invent s**t, so I did. When I look back at myself at 9 or 10, my style was unbelievably terrible. But it was exactly what I wanted to wear. I was committed to it, I wore it, and I was happy.”

Rihanna shares her beauty tips with fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna’s fans always ask her for her best beauty tips.
The 31-year-old R&B superstar’s ‘Navy’ of supporters want to know how to look like their idol and Rihanna has now indulged her fans by creating a video tutorial on her Fenty Beauty YouTube channel to show her fans exactly how she uses the Fenty Beauty Full Frontal Volume Lift & Curl Mascara, which are part of her own product range.
Explaining how important it is to have the correct brush, Rihanna said: “I like my lashes to be full, I like them to be long, and also, I’m very, very big on them being black.
“There’s a flat angle and there’s this really sharp angle, where you can get really deep into detail and I’m gonna show you how we go from the flat to the fat.”
The ‘Work’ hitmaker then demonstrated how she uses the magical brush to give her lashes the ultimate lift by holding the brush horizontally as she combed it through her top lashes.
She continued: “The flat side kinda gets into the detail. When I go in with the flat side, I’m just really trying to get in between all of my lashes, especially at the base.”
Rihanna then switched her brush to the “fat side” to help boost the length of her lashes, before turning the brush vertically to add volume.
She insisted: “When I get to the middle, I just like to take the tip of the brush and stroke in an upward direction. The flat side really defines and curls, and then, I can just turn it around and add as much as I want [to the middle].”
And finally, the ‘Work’ hitmaker urged her fans to coat the bottom lashes by turning the brush horizontally and gently coating the tiny hairs.
She shared: “For the bottom, I like to go on the flat end. As soon as the brush is attached to your bottom lashes, move it in a circular motion. It makes sure that all the bottom lashes are being picked up with the mascara without dragging your waterline.”

Jonathan Anderson joins designers for Moncler Genius 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonathan Anderson has joined a roster of designers for Moncler Genius 2020.
The 36-year-old fashion designer – who founded JW Anderson fashion label – is set to create a new line inspired by the Moncler fashion house identity for its annual drop of capsule collections.
A Moncler representative announced: “The Moncler Genius creative hub evolves and announces its 2020 line-up welcoming JW Anderson with his arrestingly clever vision of gender-defying fashion.
“The Northern Irish designer brings a unique design aesthetic that offers a modern interpretation of masculinity and femininity through a cross-pollination of menswear and womenswear.”
Recalling the moment he was asked to join the latest team of collaborators, Jonathan didn’t hesitate.
He told Vogue: “I said yes straight away. I wanted to look back on things I’ve done and explore them in puffer.
“There’s been so many times I’ve wanted to use it, but it’s incredibly difficult to do properly. I came up with this idea of an inflated archive, where we would base some of the collection on shapes we had come up with and how they could be inflated–and really try to do something very wardrobe-based with a huge amount of desirability.”
The brand’s president, Remo Ruffini praised the designer for his creative eye, which helped to bring his concepts to life.
He added: “He’s really different than the other players in the luxury industry.
“I asked him to be simple, easy to understand, and to make a project for basically everyone–a unisex project. He’s able to talk with one jacket with men and with women, and – my feeling is – with the young generation and more mature customers.”
He will join fellow designers Sergio Zambon and Veronica Leoni for 2 Moncler 1952, Sandro Mandrino for 3 Moncler Grenoble, Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Matthew Williams of 1017 ALYX 9SM, Fragment Hiroshi Fujiwara, Richard Quinn, and Poldo Dog Couture, in working with the company.

The 29-year-old model – who is seven months pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Phillip Payne – doesn’t want to share too much of her baby online, despite sharing pregnancy updates on social media.
In a video interview for Elle UK, Iskra said: “I’m constantly thinking right now, like, ‘Oh, what am I going to do when my baby enters this world? And what will that look like?’
“Philip and I have come to the decision that we want to keep them as private as possible, just being very conscious.”
Throughout her pregnancy, Iskra has given her Instagram followers an insight into her journey but now she is worried her child will eventually grow up to resent it’s mother for sharing their life with her followers.
Iskra added: “My biggest fear, honestly, is my child turning around when they’re old enough to realise that their whole life has been shown online and be like, ‘Why did you do that? I wish you hadn’t’.
“I can’t change that or ever get that back. Things last forever on there.”
What’s more, the mum-to-be revealed in the video how she repeats positive affirmations directly to her baby bump every day before getting out of bed and embarking on her beauty routine.
She told viewers: “Since I’ve been pregnant, I’ve been giving not just myself an affirmation that sets me up for the day but also my baby.
“Good morning, my little one. I just want to tell you that you are unconditionally loved and can be whoever you want to be, and I will always support and love you. Let’s have a great day!”
The couple announced they were expecting back in November after posting a number of professional photos to Instagram.
Iskra wrote: “It’s not just the two of us anymore, we’re soon to be a family of 3.
“When @Philipapayne ran out and got us six boxes of #ad @firstresponsepregnancy Early Result tests, our lives changed forever. We were so shocked when we saw those two lines and we knew for sure we were having a baby. Right now we’re 17 weeks and 3 days pregnant!”
“I’ve never been more excited to meet anyone, and Philip and I are in love with our mini baby P bump (sic)”

Alexa Chung hates celebrities who have stylists

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung thinks “it’s lame” for celebrities to have a stylist.
The 36-year-old fashion expert – who hosts Netflix’s ‘Next In Fashion’ with Tan France – has said preferred to style herself on the show as she hates it when a celebrity hires someone to pick their outfits for them.
Speaking to Refinery29, Alexa confessed: “I think it’s lame to have a stylist basically.
“I hate it when celebrities have stylists. It’s like, what’s your own style?”
Alexa did have a stylist on the streaming network’s fashion competition as bosses wanted to be able to “keep track” of her outfits, but the model insists all fashion choices were her own.
She explained: “I chose to work with Danielle Nachmani. Because it was just for the show. I needed help pulling it, and they have to keep track of it. I feel like I’m justifying that. I think I’m justifying it because it matters a lot to me that I style myself, and so this is one of the only occasions where I’ve actually used a stylist.
“But she was great. She is a fantastic stylist, and I’m a big fan of her work. She dresses lots of celebrities. I think she does such a great job. With me she did lots of it, but also I dictated a lot of it as well.”
The fashion writer loves to pick out her own clothes, because she enjoys exploring the way the modern fashion world has changed.
She added: “Since the revolution of social media and online shopping, it’s a different ballgame. It’s no longer going to a destination perusing the racks.
“In turn, clothes have changed. The way that we interact with style has changed. It’s about individualism, but at the same time things can become homogenised faster because the more likes it gets, [the more] it spreads out. I think we cycle through trends at a faster rate.”

Selena has spent the past two years creating the line, and is now ready to share it with fans after finding the right team to help create her dream.
The ‘Look At Her Now’ hitmaker continued: “I wanted to make a brand where you feel comfortable. I think people feel the pressure – I know I do – where you kind of feel like you need to look like everyone else … Sometimes that can feel a bit isolating.”

Now, Tia – who has eight-year-old son Cree and 20-month-old daughter Cairo with her husband Cory Hardrict – has revealed the dramatic change was a result of a rough start to the year following the tragic death of her friend Kobe Bryant last month.
She told Refinery29: “If I’m honest with you, 2020 was just starting pretty rough. Between the natural disasters to worrying about viruses, and then the sudden loss of Kobe Bryant… I just wanted to chop my hair off and start over.”
Despite her difficult time, Tia is adamant her new haircut will bring her a fresh outlook and appreciation.
She continued: “It’s part of a new year, new me – mentally and physically. After having my children, I was inspired to take better care of me.
“Whatever helps you get to that point – do it. Sadly, life is too short not to be the best version of yourself.”
The ‘Sister, Sister’ star first began taking care of her natural hair later in life after feeling pressured to straighten her curls when she was 15-years-old.
She explained: “My sister [Tamera] and I started in this business and I’ve never worn my hair curly until adulthood. My curly hair was seen as problematic and inconvenient, and it made me insecure.”

Maya Jama opens 2020 BAFTA Awards in 5G powered dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama opened the 2020 BAFTA Awards red carpet in a live debut of the world’s first 5G-powered augmented reality (AR) dress.
The 25-year-old presenter stunned on the red carpet outside the Royal Albert Hall in London on Sunday (02.02.20), as she wore a dress designed by multi-disciplinary artist Richard Malone, which used AR technology powered by 5G and set up by EE.
Audiences at the ceremony were able to watch in awe through Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G smartphones and on screens at the top of the red carpet as the AR dress began to come to life when Maya stepped onto the EE stage.
The AR experience saw lengths of shimmering digital material begin to swirl around the dress, which responded to Maya’s movements in real time.
The animated material wrapped around her to form a completely new design for the top half of her dress, and as the designs continued to evolve, more and more digital fabric flowed around her before billowing out around her to form a spiral of this cutting-edge digital fabric.
In a stunning finale, the spiral of material began to change form, transforming from its material state, into a stunning crystallised structure, glimmering in the spotlights on the red carpet before shattering and falling away from Maya to reveal the physical dress underneath this extraordinary display of augmented reality.
Speaking about the history-making moment, Maya said: “Tonight was a total whirlwind and I still can’t believe I opened the EE BAFTA red carpet wearing a 5G powered AR dress! It was amazing to be part of something this big that’s been months in the making and that genuinely pushes the boundaries of fashion and technology.”
In addition to being stunning to watch, the dress was also sustainable, as Richard Malone used ethically sourced fabric including recycled, regenerative ocean waste, recycled wool and wadding from ex-factory waste to create the gown.
The dress was hand sewn with over 100,000 stitches and took over 250 hours to complete, with the finished product being made up of six laters in total, with over twelve full body length wires, totalling over 18 metres in length, and eighteen sensor bulbs.

BAFTA attendees urged to wear sustainable outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — BAFTA attendees are being urged to wear sustainable outfits to the ceremony.
Stars flooded the red carpet at the annual film awards ceremony on Sunday (02.02.20), and the majority of them wore dresses and suits that were either already part of their wardrobe, or had been hired for the night, rather than buying something brand new.
Before the ceremony, BAFTA sent out a sustainable fashion guide to all attendees, which was put together by the London College of Fashion, and will help the star-studded bash in its efforts to be a carbon neutral awards ceremony.
The guide encourages those in attendance to make the most of rental fashion sites, such as Hurr Collective, By Rotation and My Wardrobe HQ, or source clothing from resale outlets like Vestiare Collective and Depop.
If stars really wanted something new to wear, the guide suggested several sustainable fashion brands, such as Stella McCartney and Reformation, which are renowned for using innovative eco-friendly materials.
The guide stated: “This awards season BAFTA are doing more than ever before to consider sustainability across its awards ceremonies, including inviting guests to ‘dress sustainably’.
“To help navigate some of the issues around fashion and sustainability London College of Fashion, UAL are supporting BAFTA with more information on how you can dress sustainably.”
Whilst a spokesperson for the awards added: “Sustainability is very important to BAFTA, and we’re doing more than ever before.
“Where sustainable choices are unable to be made, BAFTA is offsetting, as well as giving guests the tools to offset their own travel and make sustainable fashion choices.”
Elsewhere in the evening, the menu guests will be tucking into is comprised of entirely vegan products, whilst goody bags have been ditched.
BAFTA chair Dame Pippa Harris said: “Like everyone, we are increasingly concerned about the impact of climate change and it just feels like we can no longer do nothing, that is just not acceptable.
“For the last year and intensively over the last eight months, everyone has been working across every area, not just the ceremony itself, the red carpet, the Grosvenor House dinner, every element that makes up the BAFTAs, to make sure that by the end of the day, the whole thing will be carbon neutral.”

Olivia Colman wore lab diamonds

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Colman wore lab-grown diamonds to the BAFTA Awards on Sunday (02.02.20).
The ‘Crown’ actress embraced the request for attendees to “make sustainable choices on the red carpet” at the EE British Academy Film Awards in London by accessorising her black Alexander McQueen gown with specially-produced jewellery from Atelier Swarovski.
Olivia’s accessories included a pair of floral earrings with dangling drop and rings made with responsibly sourced white gold, a ring ring featuring lab-grown sapphires, white diamonds and pink diamonds and another floral piece on her fingr, which featured a stunning 2.03-carat cushion cut, purple-pink, lab-grown diamond.
According to Atelier Swarovski, the lab-grown stones are made with “less environmental and adverse human impact” than traditionally-mined gems, though they share the same physical, chemical and optical properties.
Both types of diamond are made from 100 per cent carbon and have the same hardness and brilliance.
The 46-year-old actress also wore an ERA (Equal Representation for Actresses) 50:50 ring, which she wore to the Golden Globes earlier this year.
ERA 50:50 campaign for gender balance on stage and screen in the UK.

Jennifer Lopez’s Super Bowl show had 213 costumes

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez and her 130 dancers needed 213 costumes and 143 pairs of shoes for her Super Bowl half-time show on Sunday (02.02.20).
The 50-year-old singer wore a number of Versace outfits during her slot at the NFL Championship game, and the six-minute production required a lot more work for her style team than her entire concert tour.
Stylist Rob Zangardi said: “We designed 213 costumes and 143 pairs of shoes for this six-minute show, while for her tour we did 140 costumes for a two-hour show…
“It took 25 people over 50 hours to prepare the looks after the fittings and we’ve had 16 tailors speaking three different languages (Spanish, Italian and English) in the costume room.”
Rob and fellow stylist Mariel Haen – who have worked with the ‘On the Floor’ hitmaker since 2011 – started preparing for the show in September and knew they wanted Versace to create the costumes.
Rob explained to The Hollywood Reporter: “We knew we wanted Versace to do the costumes immediately.
“Nobody does stage costumes like them when it comes to a Jennifer Lopez performance, especially at this level.
“Versace was really excited to work with us and Donatella was involved from the very beginning. We all sat down while we were shooting the campaign last year, went through our ideas and the set list, and she has been signing off on everything along the way.”
The biggest challenge for the wardrobe team was the fact Jennifer never left the stage at the Hard Rock Stadium throughout her performance, so all her costume changes needed to be extra quick and simple.
Mariel explained: “Because Jennifer never leaves the stage, we knew when designing the costumes that everything needed to be layered or added on.
“While we do a lot of quick changes on tour, for this performance the longest change is just seven seconds. Simply getting stuff on and off is something we’ve had to rehearse and refine over and over again to make it look seamless.”
Throughout the rehearsal process for the show – which was co-headlined by Shakira – the team had to alter and repair the costumes.
Rob said: “We decided to cut the sleeves off of the motorcycle jacket on Thursday, because it made the quick changes faster and [we] replaced the panels on the side of hips to allow for more movement.
“The performance is so energetic, with her sliding on the floor and being flipped around, that after every rehearsal, we’ve had to repair and remake costumes for both her and the dancers, wash them, and replace crystals every night.”

Saoirse Ronan’s dress used discarded satin

OHMYGOSSIP — Saoirse Ronan’s BAFTA Awards dress was made from discarded satin.
The ‘Little Women’ actress kept things “dead simple” with her black Gucci gown at Sunday’s (03.02.20) EE British Academy Film Awards in London, but her team were still “geeking out” about the craftsmanship required to create the outfit.
Her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman, told Britain’s Vogue magazine: “We wanted to create a gown that didn’t waste any resources or people’s time.
“It’s the first time we’ve gone dead simple, but we’ve been geeking out about the intricate craftsmanship. I love that the most classic pieces are often the hardest to make – it feels good to celebrate this unique work.”
Gucci have created a number of Saoirse’s red carpet gowns over the years and the actress likes working with the fashion house because of their shared values.
Elizabeth explained: “Alessandro Michele’s team really cares about people and the environment, which says a lot about the house.
“Gucci was one of the first brands to stop using exotic skins and fur because of genuine moral reasons.”
The 25-year-old actress has varied her red carpet style dramatically throughout awards season and her stylist has enjoyed seeing her client’s fashion confidence grow.
She said: “We haven’t had deep and meaningful conversations, but it’s been interesting to see Saoirse become comfortable with who she is in the spotlight.
“She’s been stuck in a period drama for so long.
“Now, I see a very beautiful woman standing confident before me, unafraid to try new things. She feels good and that’s all that matters.”
