Billy Porter wants his own fashion line

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Porter wants his own fashion line.
The ‘Pose’ star would love to release his own line of clothes or accessories and admits the idea is “on his brain”.
He said: “I’m working on figuring out what a fashion line would look like. I’m not sure if it will be clothing or accessories. I’m not sure, but it’s on my brain.”
And the 50-year-old actor is known for his bold red carpet outfit choices but he insists it’s not about what he wears but how he and others feel.
Speaking to People magazine, he added: “It’s not just about what I’m wearing. It’s about how I feel. About how other people feel.”
Meanwhile, Billy previously insisted has never thought about defining his red carpet style and has hailed his style “undefinable and unpredictable”.
He said: “That’s a really interesting question. I’ve never really thought about defining it. I would say it’s undefinable. I don’t even know what it is sometimes. I’m putting one foot in front of the other and I am trying to be as true and as honest to what I feel I want to do at any given time, so unpredictable.”
Instead, Billy puts his outfits together by defining the event and creating a deeper meaning with his style.
He added: “We decide by first trying to define what the moment is. What the event is about and then we go from there. I’m a very story-oriented person coming from being an actor, so I always try to have a narrative for myself so that there is always a reason and there’s always a point. I want to be a walking piece of art – political art – whenever I can, any time I show up. I let other people say that [I’m a fashion icon]. You know, show business is hard because you borderline on confidence and arrogance, so I’m trying to be on the confidence side. I’m going to let other people call me a fashion icon at least for the next couple of years and then I’ll do it myself. But that’s what people are saying.”

Vanessa Hudgens’ new tattoo

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Hudgens has had a “divine feminine angel” tattooed on her side.
The ‘Say OK’ hitmaker stripped down to her underwear to show off her new inking in a post on photo sharing site Instagram.
She wrote on Instagram: “Divine feminine angel … not me …. my tat. But you can call me that, if you want to … #thirstythursday @drag_ink (sic)”
And the 31-year-old singer and actress also shared a video of the first time she saw the new tattoo, admitting her artist is a “legend” for such a great tattoo.
She captioned it: “Lol this was the first time I saw it. I never peeked. Hilarious. I love @drag_ink so damn much. What. A. Legend. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Vanessa previously opened up about her “fascinating” style evolution after sporting a number of looks throughout the years.
She said: “I think the message is that women don’t have to be one thing. We’re so multifaceted; the more we embrace our duality, the stronger we are … My style, and the evolution of it, is something that’s fascinating to me. Where I was ten years ago is so different from where I am now. It was a very Bohemian time for me. I would always be in maxi dresses with feather earrings and my long hair. I just felt so feminine and flowy. Now, I love an iconic look.”
And the 30-year-old actress thinks people struggle to tell her age because of her breakout role in ‘High School Musical’.
She added: “No one ever gets my age right, I used to want to be older when I was younger. Now that I’m 30, if you tell me I look underage, I actually greatly appreciate it. Most people are acquainted with me via ‘High School Musical’, so I think in their eyes, I’ll be forever 15. People 100% still look at me as Gabriella but it’s really sweet that I get to be a part of people’s childhood and take them back to a time for them when things were simpler. That’s a beautiful thing. I’ve played so many different kinds of people, I don’t think that you can put me into a box.”

House of Holland goes into administration

OHMYGOSSIP — House of Holland – Henry Holland’s fashion label – has gone into administration.
The 36-year-old fashion designer’s company – which he stepped down from earlier this year – has been suffering “difficult trading pressures”, meaning he has now had to call in the administrators.
Will Wright, a partner at KPMG and the joint administrator, said in a statement: “House of Holland rose to prominence as a forward-thinking British label, with its signature slogan T-shirts and collaborations with a number of high street brands. However, with apparel experiencing the same difficult trading pressures as others across the U.K. retail market, the company needed to raise additional investment in order for it to continue.”
The administrators are to continue running the company via its website for the time being until more investors are found to secure the brand’s future.
Henry announced his departure back in February.
He said in a statement: “After the most incredible ride, my journey at the helm of House of Holland has come to an end. When I first started this brand, no one could have predicted the success that we would achieve and the fun we would have. I want to thank everyone who has supported me to this point. Most importantly my team who have worked tirelessly throughout. I will forever be indebted to them and the industry for embracing House of Holland and everything we stand for. I have learned so much that will inform my future, and whilst I am sad for the ending of this amazing chapter, I am excited about what the future has in store.”

Drew Barrymore’s new eyewear range

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore has launched a new glasses range.
The ‘Miss You Already’ star has unveiled seven new styles as part of her Flower Eyewear line, insisting that wellness is important.
She told People magazine: “I wish people were going to be on their screens less, but my prediction is that they will not be. We’ve been in that category now with Flower for several years and I didn’t even need glasses when I started it. Now I need them because 40 is different than 45 and I loved designing them. 40 to 45, I have to start caring about wellness in a whole new way. So if there’s something we can do to protect ourselves, wellness and eyewear is such a fun story for me.”
Meanwhile, Drew previously admitted she finds it “harder” to be confident the older she gets and she is much more self-conscious now.
She said: “It gets harder as you get older. I will see the monitor all the time at photoshoots and just think, ‘Holy hell. I hate what I’m seeing. I don’t feel good about myself. Where did my chin go? Why is it inside my neck? Why are my two eyes so different? Why does the hair not look right? Oh my god! My puffiness, my dark circles. I will literally eviscerate myself.’ And I just think, ‘You know what? Eventually, I don’t want to do this anymore because I don’t want to look at myself that way.’
“I loved Madonna. I loved Elton John. I always was drawn to people who … Barbra Streisand, Jane Fonda. You never knew what they were going to look like as a character or in a movie or the way they were wearing their hair and makeup, the style. Cher. This was what inspired me growing up. I loved the theatrics, but I really loved the curiosity, the burning question of what are they going to do next, and then when they present that.”

Priyanka is happy to experiment with her make up and beauty choices and enjoys getting to try “new colours and textures”, admitting her decisions come down to her “mood” of the day.

The ‘Euphoria’ – who has just launched a new eye collection with MAC called More Than Meets The Eye – has admitted that whilst she loves getting to have a “playful time” creating bold looks for work and nights out, during the day she prefers to have a “clean face”.
In an interview with allure.com, she said: “It’s funny because in my day-to-day life — especially in the mornings — you will not really see me in make-up.
“It’s usually in the evenings.
“Because I wear it so much for work, I like to keep my face clean during the day.
“But at night, it’s more for me.
“It’s an exciting, playful time for me to sit down in front of my mirror.
“I have one of those mirrors that light up perfectly and organised all of my make-up like a store. It just brings me so much joy.”

Shailene Woodley praises Stella McCartney’s cruelty-free line

OHMYGOSSIP — Shailene Woodley has praised her pal Stella McCartney for helping to “radically change the world” with her cruelty-free and vegan fashion line.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star attended the designer’s Winter 2020 runway show at Paris Fashion Week this week, where she spoke of how much of a “fan” she is of the 48-year-old “artist” and the work she does to “protect and preserve the world” with her eponymous line.
Speaking to ET Canada, Shailene said: “I do know her personally and also I am also a major fan of her work as an artist, but also as a human, and I think the things that she comes up with and the things she is doing to radically change this world and affect things.
“One colour of her is the crazy designer artist and then the other colour of her is the person that wants to help protect and preserve this world.
“And so how do you marry those together, and that’s who she is.”
Stella – who is the daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney – had people dressed as animals, including cows, horses, a rabbit, a fox, and even a crocodile, walking down the catwalk alongside her upcoming collection to make a bold statement about cruelty-free fashion.
Alongside a snap of herself posing with one of the cows, Stella tweeted: “More pleasure, less leather! #StellaWinter20 welcomed animals to the runway, but the collection is still cruelty-free. #StellaMcCartney #PFW (sic)”
Stella previously urged the fashion industry to come together and make “systemic, sustainable changes”.
She wrote in an open letter: “The fashion industry is at a crossroads, and I believe that this is a moment for us to come together to achieve systemic, sustainable change in our industry. The fashion industry is one of the most polluting and damaging industries in the world. Every single second, the equivalent of one rubbish truck of textiles is sent to landfill or burnt.
“The fashion industry accounts for more than a third of ocean microplastics, while textile dyeing is the second largest polluter of clean water globally. If nothing changes, by 2050 the fashion industry will be using up to a quarter of the world’s carbon budget. This way of working is not sustainable. The world is crying out for change, and it is our responsibility to act now … The science is clear, and we need to do more than just incremental shifts; keeping business as usual is no longer an option.”

Kim Kardashian West apologises after North sings kid star ZaZa’s song without credit

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West has apologised after her daughter North West performed ZaZa’s ‘What I Do?’ without giving her credit at her dad Kanye West’s Yeezy show in Paris on Monday (02.03.20).
The power couple’s six-year-old girl showed off her rhyming skills during the presentation of Kanye’s latest collection held at the Espace Oscar Niemeyer venue as part of Paris Fashion Week.

Alongside a clip of ZaZa performing the song and one of North and Kanye at the show, her parent wrote: “In July of 2019, ZaZa & her dad went into the studio for the ultimate experience! To finally begin making the music she wanted to make. We take PRIDE in creativity, and believe whether a child’s involved or an adult… creativity deserves RESPECT/homage! What @kimkardashian (Kanye west) are doing with their daughter… with the inspiration of ZaZa & our family in mind is okay… we not mad
“BUT PLS SHOW LOVE AND SUPPORT TO THE ORIGINAL FIRST!!! We admire Kanye west, and adore his journey. However, we don’t wanna feel like our daughter’s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED .

Paulina Porizkova: It’s really freaking hard being a woman over 50

OHMYGOSSIP — Paulina Porizkova says it’s “really freaking hard to be a woman over 50”.
The 54-year-old model believes she has hit the “dead zone” in her career, which she describes as being in between “J-Lo looking fabulous” and veteran actress Betty White, and recalled how she was turned down for a job because she hasn’t gone under the knife.
Appearing on ‘CBS Sunday Morning’, she said: “I did one of my, ‘Look at me. This is my face without make-up’ [posts]. And I’ve never used botox or fillers. And this job that I was up for went, ‘Oh, well, we can’t use you then.'”
Asked by co-host Anthony Mason: “How do you feel about that?”, she replied: “I used to be kind of judgmental about it.
“I used to go, ‘Oh, you know, I can’t believe that anybody’s injecting themselves and changing the way they look.’
“And now I think, ‘No, you know what? It’s really freaking hard to be a woman. And it’s really freaking hard to be a woman over 50. Because we really get dismissed from the table.’
“We have, like, a weird period between, you’re J-Lo looking fabulous and then Betty White.
“And there’s kind of like a dead zone between the two.
“So, I’m trying to fill that dead zone!”
Paulina was just a teenager when she moved to Paris to embark on a modelling career and made the prestigious Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue at the age of 18 in 1984.
The Czech actress-and-author – who was previously married to the late frontman of The Cars, Ric Ocasek, for 28 years until May 2018 – also admitted that to this day she still feels like an “impostor” and detailed her battle with low self-esteem, which she believes is down to being left behind by her parents when she was young as they escaped the communist regime in her home country.
She shared: “In some ways, I still think I’m waiting to be found an impostor. Even now!”
She continued: “I always like to say about myself I am a woman of very high ego, but zero self-esteem.
“My parents left me when I was little.
“They left because they were escaping the communist regime. “But I think being left, that sort of just stuck with me forever, that I’m really not that great.
“And as soon as you find out how not-great I am, you will also leave me.”

Taraji P Henson’s weave woe

OHMYGOSSIP — Taraji P. Henson smelled like “mildew” when she had her first weave removed.
The ‘Hidden Figures’ star had the wefts sewn into protect her natural locks when she first started acting but was left “embarrassed” when she had the extensions removed for the first time and realised how much she’d struggled with getting everything washed and dried properly.
She recalled: “The first time I went to get the weave taken out, it smelled like mildew. I was so embarrassed.
“I was washing my hair, but what I wasn’t doing was drying the weft. When you have a weave or an install, your hair is braided down and then sometimes they sew a [hair] net down on top of that and then they sew the hair tracks on top of that.
“So my dilemma was, how do I get to my scalp? How do I clean it? I didn’t ever want that mildew smell again.”
The 49-year-old star found a product that helped, but it caused her further problems, leading to her developing her affordable TPH haircare line.
She continued to Allure magazine: “The first thing I used was Sea Breeze [a skin and scalp astringent]. I needed some relief!
“I found a little bottle, like the ones they put the dye in with the nozzle on top, and put the Sea Breeze in it.
“It helped, but it dries your hair out. It gets brittle.
“So I had to figure out how to get moisture down to my braids and clean my scalp.
“That’s what the TPH hair-care line is about. It’s about scalp care — and serving looks. TPH was born out of my ‘Master Cleanse’ hair product I made for myself. For me, hair is nothing if you don’t have a clean scalp.”
Taraji stressed that her products – which are available in Target – are not just for “natural hair”.
She added: “But I don’t want people to think that this is a line that is just targeted at natural hair. This line is also for wigs. It’s for installs, braids, locs, straight hair, curly hair — hair needs moisture.”
