Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson won’t post lockdown workouts on Instagram

OHMYGOSSIP — Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson refuses to post his workout sessions on social media during the Covid-19 lockdown because he doesn’t want to upset anyone.
The 47-year-old star is famous for his ripped physique and his love for intense sessions in the gym, and before the coronavirus pandemic began, he regularly shared clips from his workouts on Instagram.
However, now that millions of people around the world are stuck at home and unable to go to their local gyms, which shut in an effort to control the spread of the virus, the actor doesn’t feel it is appropriate to share workouts from his own state-of-the-art gym at his sprawling home.
He wrote on Instagram: “I don’t post my workouts, because I’m sensitive to millions of you around the world who aren’t able to train in your local gyms and you’re stuck at home. I’d feel like an a**hole and it ain’t my style. Just know I’m working extremely hard and I want all of you to get back to working out ASAP too.”
Dwayne also added a video in which he told his fans and followers that he hoped gyms would reopen in the U.S. in six weeks, and advised people to “take inventory” of their goals so they can re-focus when the lockdown is lifted.
He said: “I would take mental inventory of everything you have going on in your training, and where you want to see improvement, where your challenges are, and also, embrace the wins.”
The former WWE wrestler also told those who want to burn fat that they should be concentrating on cardio and weights.
He explained: “The best lifts are all of ’em – full body – and always focusing on my lower body – my foundation – quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. Don’t skip leg day, men.”

Naomi Campbell once ‘kidnapped’ Kate Moss

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell once “kidnapped” Kate Moss.
During a YouTube chat with Christy Turlington, 51, Naomi, 49, reminisced on a time in the 1990s when she and her then-fiance, U2’s Adam Clayton, 60, whisked Kate, 46, away from Spain where she was working and brought her to Paris to meet up with Christy before they all flew to Dublin.
While there, the group crashed a wedding and experimented with their individual styles.
Naomi explained on her ‘No Filter With Naomi’ YouTube series: “[Kate told us] we had to dress down and get with it, that we were too polished, that we needed to be a bit more grunge. So we went Kate’s way.
“[She said] let’s put the black around our eyes. Let’s rough ourselves up. Let me put my hair up to make it messy with makeup brushes, because that’s all I had.”
The trio were part of the original crop of supermodels that made waves in the ’90s and Naomi and Christy discussed which current models they are fans of.
Christy revealed she particularly likes Karlie Kloss and some of her showbiz pals.
She explained: “I would say Karlie Kloss is super close with her whole group of people, right?
“Jourdan Dunn is one of her closest – they’re super close. I think they’re friendly with Gigi [Hadid] and some of those girls. They’re all about the same age, maybe…”
Meanwhile, Naomi hailed Christy’s nephew James Turlington as “beautiful” and insisted he’s going to be “iconic”.
Naomi shared: “I’m loving Alton Mason and your nephew, James. Christy has another Turlington in the family that’s a model that is going to be iconic, too. He’s beautiful … he’s beautiful.”

Virgil Abloh working on extra collections during Covid-19 pandemic

OHMYGOSSIP — Virgil Abloh says he is being more productive than ever during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Off-White CEO and founder and Louis Vuitton Men artistic director is working on extra collections during this time and believes that it is important for the global fashion industry to show its resilience and prove how valuable it is to the world.
Speaking during the Vogue Global Conversations series, Virgil said: “We need to show our resilience. This is the time to prove our industry is a valuable one. Not for a second will I cancel, or pause, or take time off the calendar … Everything on my end will proceed. I’m finding ways to work harder, more efficient. I’ve started another collection on top of the collection I was working on for June because I have more time.”
Virgil, 39, also believes that now is an important time for the fashion industry to reset and start listening to their consumers.
He explained: “We’re at a position now where I think we can realign ourselves with listening to the consumer first and responding, instead of the previous model, which was sort of talking down [to the customer.
“It’s critical that we as designers and institutions and brands realign ourselves with the voice of the people today. That means what we traditionally know as a fashion image or an image to market or a video or a glimpse, I think can get more heartfelt. I think it can reflect the real public and humanity in a more seamless way rather than a projected idea of what a fashion image is or a marketing image is or a campaign is.”
And he insisted that more diversity is needed in the fashion world.
Virgil said: “The buzzword of diversity is not a marketing technique in the new world, it actually brings new voices to the table and allows them to flourish.”

Edward Enninful praises ‘true style icon’ Princess Anne

OHMYGOSSIP — Edward Enninful has praised Princess Anne as a “true style icon”.
The British Vogue editor is a huge fan of the 69-year-old royal and admires her dedication to sustainable fashion and recycling her outfits.
Edward told Vanity Fair magazine: “Princess Anne is a true style icon and was all about sustainable fashion before the rest of us really knew what that meant. She is timeless in her style, and she wears a tailored suit better than anyone else I can think of.”
However, Anne brushed aside the praise and joked she is a fan of sustainable fashion because she is “quite mean”.
She quipped: “I recycle because I’m quite mean. I still try and buy materials and have them made up because I just think that’s more fun. It also helps to support those who still manufacture in this country. We mustn’t forget we’ve got those skills, and there are still places that do a fantastic job.”
Anne – who will turn 70 in August – is president of the U.K. Fashion and Textile Association, and prefers to support British designers whenever she can.
She said: “I very seldom buy anything which isn’t made in the U.K.”
Explaining her love for Harris Tweed, she added: “It went through a phase when it was very fashionable. For me the point about it is that it looks exactly the same at the end of the day as it did at the beginning. Brilliant.”

“I will always continue to share my struggles and my triumphs, as the most important thing within body positivity is finding your community and not feeling alone.
“I have good body days and bad body days, like I am sure all of us do. This isn’t something that will magically go away.

“Right now I am at my size sexy, and I am proud.”

Demi Lovato: ‘I’ve stopped letting my weight control my life’

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato has stopped letting her weight control her life.
The 27-year-old singer and actress admitted she gave up acting because she hated seeing her body on screen but after finally learning to accept her curves, she has made a return to movies with the Netflix comedy ‘Eurovision’, co-starring Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, and Pierce Brosnan.
Demi told Harper’s Bazaar US: “My eating disorder kept me from going back to acting for years. But I finally came to a place with my body where I thought, ‘Why am I going to let this stop me when it’s just my shell?’ I’ve stopped letting my weight control my life.”
Demi has long been open about her struggles with her weight, and once battled an eating disorder after being left unhappy with her body image.
Last year Demi hit out at a headline which commented on her “fuller” body size, and said she was “more” than her weight.
She wrote at the time: “I am more than my weight. Unlike the past, I’m not triggered, I’m not upset that someone wrote a headline about my ‘fuller figure.’ I’m angry that people think it’s OK to write headlines about people’s body shapes.”

Bebe wrote on social media: “To all the people tweeting mean things to me about my weight you just want a response and you will not get it.
“Unless you are completely perfect you have no f***ing right to talk about anybody else’s body. The hate you breed that stems from Insecurity don’t look pretty on you.
“I don’t give a two s**ts about what people think about my weight. I care about what I think about my weight. (sic)”
And Demi replied: “You are GORGEOUS, strong, authentic and an inspiration to me and so many. Thank you for being you you BEAUTIFUL, beautiful woman. I love you. (sic)”

Lorena Rae says Gisele is her ‘ultra girl crush’

OHMYGOSSIP — Lorena Rae says Gisele Bundchen is her “ultra girl crush” and the model she admires the most.
The 25-year-old German beauty – who walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2018 – always looks to what the 39-year-old former Victoria’s Secret Angel is doing in her career and her private life for inspiration.
When asked whose career she admires, Lorena said: “Gisele Bundchen. She is my ultra girl crush. There is hardly one thing that she that doesn’t somehow inspire me. Everything she represents feels very genuine. It doesn’t make me want to be her best friend, but it also makes me want to work on myself, my career, and my own family one day.”
Lorena began modelling when she started working with brand Bijou Brigitte before signing to the Wilhelmina agency in 2015.
Since she started working in the fashion industry, the catwalk star has always been on social media and she thinks that having a strong online presence has helped her work.
Lorena – who has 1.8 million followers on Instagram – said: “I can only speak for myself, but I am glad social media has been there throughout my career. When I started modelling, one of the first things I would hear from clients and casting directors was, ‘We would love to see more of your personality.’ Now, in addition to just having your portfolio, you also have Instagram as a platform for people to see who I am when I’m not wearing designer clothes and a lot of make-up. What do I do for fun? What are my passions and hobbies? What’s my dog’s name? It’s given many of us the opportunity to connect with people we might never have been able to meet or work with.”

Selena Gomez: My make-up line is clean and easy

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez says her upcoming make-up line is “very clean and easy”.
The 27-year-old singer has created a simple collection of foundation and concealers for her Rare Beauty line to help beauty lovers feel confident without adding too much pressure to wear makeup.
Speaking to Interview magazine’s April 2020 issue, she said: “I wanted to start a conversation about how can you make yourself feel great. It’s not necessarily about needing these things to make yourself feel beautiful.
“People of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way, and I wanted to make a line that took away a bit of that pressure. I use real people in the campaigns. I have 48 shades of foundation and concealer. It’s all very clean and easy. I wanted people to feel safe.”
The ‘Lose You To Love Me’ hitmaker previously asked her followers to get involved in the new beauty brand as she wanted to build up a “community full of authentic connection and authentic stories” to promote her new products.
Speaking in a video, she shared: “I’m so excited to have a chance to talk to you guys about something that we’re building. We want to build a community full of authentic connection and authentic stories. So, it is going to be the #WeAreRare community call.”

Whether that’s something you’ve overcome, or it’s an internal struggle or something that you love about yourself that you’re confident in who you are – we want to hear all kinds of stories. From that process, we get to do a shoot in March and basically highlight the stories. Every story is going to be important and beautiful, and I can’t wait to read all of them. It’s going to be emotional, but I’m very excited.”

Rina Sawayama reveals make-up inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Rina Sawayama picks a “character” when she wants to experiment with her make-up.
The 29-year-old pop star likes to try bold beauty looks that disguises her face by thinking of a different personality and working out what type of makeup they would wear.
In an interview with CNN, she said: “My idea of beauty is being a bit of a chameleon, I think, surprising people. I always pick a character, the person who I wanted to be on stage, and then think about how they would do their makeup.
“I have a whole collection of make-up looks I love, and I love that, and I’m not scared of that.”
Rina fell in love with beauty products at a young age and would look to influential make-up artist Pat McGrath for inspiration before social media helped build a community of beauty lovers.
She continued: “When I was growing up, I’d look at Dior in the 2000s, when Pat McGrath was doing like these amazing, insane looks. We didn’t have as much access to stuff like that, but now we have all these beauty communities on Instagram.”
Now, with the help of the networking platforms, Rina is able to share her creativity with her fans as she created her own YouTube channel ‘Rina TV’ where she shares makeup tutorials and tips.
She added: “I think that’s the strength of Instagram, to be able to tap into these communities that will appreciate your creativity.”
However, ‘STFU!’ hitmaker believes there is still a way to go for Asian models to be incorporated into the beauty community without portraying stereotypes in brand campaigns.
She explained: “I think the number of Asian faces is definitely increasing, and I love to see that fashion brands are giving Asian people a personality.
“But I still see campaigns where brands want to portray the Asian talent as the quiet one. It’s almost like there isn’t much communication going on behind the scenes.”

Alison Brie feels better when she doesn’t diet

OHMYGOSSIP — Alison Brie feels better about her body when she doesn’t diet.
The 37-year-old actress admits restricting what she can eat has a detrimental effect of her mental and physical health as she tends to get bad sugar cravings and then make unhealthy choices.
She told Women’s Health magazine: “I used to feel more out of control with it. Being more diligent has been helpful for me mentally.”
Alison also shared her meal plan as she prepares to play a wrestler in the new season of her Netflix show, ‘GLOW’.
She has oatmeal with protein powder for breakfast, followed by a chocolate and sea salt Après vegan protein shake, which she takes after she has done her morning exercise. For lunch, it is usually a tuna salad with spinach and whatever other vegetables are in the fridge, followed by a ground turkey stir fry, with strict limits to the timings for intaking carbohydrates.
When she is not working towards an acting role, Alison likes to be vegetarian or vegan, and rid herself of her meat input.
Meanwhile, Alison previously admitted she is “addicted to strength”.
She said: “Weights that I can’t physically put on the thing [bar], I can lift with my legs and butt. I can do pull-ups! I was always into exercising to be skinny, which can become a very unhealthy compulsion. Training for ‘Glow’ I got addicted to strength. Learning how to wrestle you have to protect your partner and yourself, so I stopped thinking about how I looked and focused on how my body worked … I do think when I was younger there was so much pressure to be the ‘hot young thing’ – that was how you were going to get a job. I don’t feel that way any more.”

Marc Jacobs: Fashion will ‘never exist as we know it’ after coronavirus

OHMYGOSSIP — Marc Jacobs feels fashion will “never exist as we know it” following the coronavirus pandemic.
The 57-year-old fashion designer – who has his own eponymous luxury fashion label – thinks fashion will change hugely as a result, as he admitted so much about how him and his colleagues go about their business has changed in the wake of the health crisis.
He shared: “I work within a team, and it’s our daily interaction and it’s life that stimulates and provides a catalyst for what me and my team create each season. So I wouldn’t say this is the most creative place to be. Creating isn’t done in a vacuum or a bubble. It might be done within the bubble of our fashion world, but it is the stimulation of the entire world that is the catalyst, that gives us the drive and the energy and the passion to create … Until we discover a new way to work, until we create a new way to work, or a new end goal to work towards, we really have nothing to do. To carry around the past probably isn’t the best way forward. What I do and the clothes that I make and the way we present a show, it feels like that probably will never exist as we know it, the way we did it.”
And the fashion designer insists “creativity will never stop”.
Speaking to Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue, and Nigerian fashion designer, Kenneth Ize, for the first Vogue Global Conversations discussion, he added: “Creativity will never stop, it’s absolutely essential. Where would everyone be during this quarantine if they didn’t have books to read and movies to watch? I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have something to get dressed up for every day. It’s just vital to me, it’s as essential as anything else … Being creative and creativity are absolutely essential. It will always live.”

Sharon Stone struggled with ageing

OHMYGOSSIP — Sharon Stone struggled with ageing in her 40s.
The 62-year-old actress admits there was a time a couple of decades ago where she really didn’t “accept” her body, but now she is older, she feels much more content with her figure.
Speaking to Germany’s Vogue magazine, she said: “There was a point in my forties when I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door, and said, ‘I won’t get out until I can fully accept my body.'”
Meanwhile, Sharon previously admitted she loves her body “so much more” now she is older.
The former fashion model said: “I like my body so much more. I’m so grateful to my body. When I was younger, everybody was telling me what was wrong with my body – too this, too that.”
Sharon hated it when she was plastered in make-up for her role as Catherine Tramell in 1992’s ‘Basic Instinct’ and revealed she wasn’t able to pick her own look for the part.
She said: “When I got on ‘Basic Instinct’, they hired a make-up artist that put on pounds of make-up every day, and every day I went to my trailer and took the make-up off. But I wasn’t allowed to choose my make-up artist, nor was my name [above the title] on the poster.”
And the ‘Casino’ star previously insisted the most important thing that makes her so stunning is having “real inner beauty”.
She said: “Also, for me, it’s more about real inner beauty. It’s important to have a philosophy or way of life or faith that keeps you balanced. For me, that has been Buddhism. It’s something that brings you back to center, and is really the key to serenity and beauty – an internal sense of form and elegance.”
