Kelly Ripa using fake tan as makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Ripa has been using her daughter’s fake tan as makeup.
The 49-year-old television host – who has 18-year-old daughter Lola, as well as sons Michael, 22, and Joaquin, 17, with her husband Mark Consuelos – is currently unable to access her own supply of makeup as it is all locked away in the studio where she and Ryan Seacrest film ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’, and so she’s been forced to get creative when it comes to her everyday look.
Speaking to ballerina Tiler Peck on Instagram Live, Kelly said: “I look 70 right now in this light. I keep putting on my daughter’s self-tanner thinking that will help, because all of my clothes, my hair products, and all of my makeup is locked in the studio, which is closed because of everything that’s going on.
“I mean it’s no different to anybody else who has a business that relies on audiences and all of that. So we’re locked out of the studio, and I realised it was such a blessing to have this place to keep everything, but I wish I had the foresight to say ‘What if I can’t get anything?’ So now I’m just in an 18 year old’s self-tanner and workout clothes.”
And the blonde beauty revealed she almost made a fashion mistake during the Instagram Live too, as she considered donning a swimsuit before her daughter told her she would “hate it”.
She added: “I was going to wear … because, what I have in our storage closet is a bunch of bathing suits for the summer. And I was going to wear … I had a one piece and I put it on, and my daughter said ‘Do yourself a favour and do not wear that on Instagram. Because I know you think right now it’s great,’ she goes, ‘But later on, I promise you will hate it.’ ”
Kelly’s comments come after she previously cut her own hair with a pair of kitchen scissors, and confessed she has been wearing her daughter’s clothes whilst in lockdown.

Burberry launches sustainable ReBurberry Edit line

OHMYGOSSIP — Burberry have launched a sustainable line titled ‘ReBurberry Edit’.
The iconic fashion brand is editing 26 styles from the Spring/Summer 2020 collection for the new line, which will see the items made from innovative and sustainable materials.
The introduction of the ‘ReBurberry Edit’ line also coincides with the label’s global rollout of dedicated sustainability labelling across all key-product categories, which will provide customers with an insight into the industry-leading environmental and social credentials of the Burberry programme.
According to a press release, the new labels will inform the customer how a product meets a range of externally assured stringent criteria called “positive attributes”, which include the amount of organic content or recycled natural fibres used in materials, delivery against carbon emissions standards at production facilities or social initiatives such as workers being paid the living wage or supported through well-being programmes.
Currently, two thirds of Burberry products conform to more than one positive attribute, and the brand aims for all products to meet this mark by 2022.
Pam Batty, Vice President Corporate Responsibility, Burberry said: “At the half-way point of our Responsibility Strategy to 2022, we remain dedicated to delivering tangible progress against our social and environmental targets, and our holistic, product-focused sustainability programmes are central to this.
“By inviting customers to learn more about the sustainable credentials of our products through our labelling programme, we are helping them to better understand our initiatives and the breadth of the ambition of our Responsibility Agenda. We strongly believe that driving positive change through all of our products at every stage of the value chain is crucial to building a more sustainable future for our whole industry.”
Each product in the ReBurberry Edit includes one of the brand’s new sustainability labels.
The new Edit features a range of eyewear crafted from pioneering bio-based acetate, and trench coats, parkas, capes and accessories created from ECONYL® Рa recycled nylon made from regenerated fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic.
Burberry’s parkas and capes are also made at facilities associated with energy and water reduction, as well as textile recycling and chemical management programmes.
Some bags in the Edit are associated with the use of renewable energy.

Anna Wintour: The fashion industry needs to rethink its values

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Anna Wintour thinks the fashion industry needs to “rethink” its values.
The 70-year-old editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine believes “people’s values are really going to have shifted” once the cornavirus pandemic has passed.
She said: “I feel very strongly that when we come out at the other end – which we will do – that people’s values are really going to have shifted.
“I think it’s an opportunity for all of us to look at our industry and to look at our lives, and to rethink our values, and to really think about the waste, and the amount of money, and consumption, and excess – and I obviously include myself in this – that we have all indulged in and how we really need to rethink what this industry stands for.”
Looking to the future, Anna thinks there will need to be “more of an emphasis on sustainability” in the fashion industry and beyond.
She also believes there will be “more of an emphasis on luxury, on creativity, on craft”.
Anna told Naomi Campbell’s YouTube channel, ‘No Filter With Naomi’: “We need to celebrate the art of fashion, and the design of fashion.”
What’s more, Anna hopes that in the future, the fashion industry will learn to slow down and appreciate things in the moment, rather than obsessing about the future.
Anna – who has been the artistic director for Conde Nast, Vogue’s publisher, since 2013 – said: “There isn’t any time to just look and think, and enjoy it.”

Kaia Gerber is ‘trying to remain healthy on the inside’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaia Gerber has been striving to remain “healthy on the inside” during the coronavirus pandemic.
The 18-year-old model – who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber – has revealed she’s focused on her personal well-being during the current lockdown.
She shared: “I’ve just really been taking the time to make sure I’m healthy on the inside.
“In our minds, we keep going and going, and you don’t really have time to reflect on how your body is feeling and check back in. I’ve been very fortunate to use this time to check in with myself internally and that’s just been a really big part of my routine.”
Kaia – who is currently at home in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus lockdown – also revealed that her new campaign for Marc Jacobs Daisy has taken on a new meaning amid the pandemic.
In a campaign video for the brand, Kaia is seen laughing and joking in a field alongside other models.
She told Allure magazine: “Rewatching it now and seeing the field and open air makes you think about the things you take for granted.
“We’re holding hands and running through a field – right now that seems so crazy and completely out of the question. It’s just made me feel grateful and really reminded me of that time.”
Meanwhile, Kaia previously insisted he doesn’t want to be labelled as a model.
She explained: “I always like to say, I model – but I am not a model. Because once you put ‘a’ or ‘an’ ahead of a title, it staples that to you … So, my advice to others who want to navigate new territories would be to not hesitate and just do what would make you proud. Never box yourself in.”

Vivienne Westwood forms partnership to help protect forests

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Vivienne Westwood has forged a partnership with an environmental organisation in a bid to help protect forests around the world.
The 79-year-old fashion designer has entered into a partnership with the the not-for-profit organisation Canopy, which seeks to protect “forests, species and climate”.
Christopher Di Pietro, global brand director at Vivienne Westwood, said: “Fashion has a disproportionate impact on the environment, and to remedy that we have for some time been changing the way we make clothes to reflect the need for the industry to change the way it operates.”
The British fashion label has released a video – produced by artist Aidan Zamiri – that celebrates the natural world.
Christopher added: “We hope the video will help draw attention to our campaign in support of the work Canopy has been doing to transform unsustainable supply chains to protect forests around the world – and with it our climate and wildlife.”
Nicole Rycroft, Canopy’s founder and executive director, said that climate change and the coronavirus pandemic illustrate “how consequential our every action is”.
She continued: “Vivienne and her team know that brilliance coupled with imagination and pragmatic action will transform how our economy interacts with vital ecosystems.”
The campaign video features the model and activist Kai-Isaiah Jamal, who recites a poem that hails the wonders of the natural world.
Nicole explained that Jamal’s poem and video “provide us with the dream of a future we all want to be part of”.
Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell previously revealed that her outlook towards activism has been heavily influenced by the designer.
The 49-year-old model first met the acclaimed designer when she was just 16, and Vivienne played a major role in Naomi and Kate Moss’ subsequent passion for activism.
During a sit-down discussion between the fashion icons, Naomi explained: “You sat us down and gave us a talking to about being conscious in the world.
“That had a big impact on me. It was around the time that I started working with Nelson Mandela in South Africa, so it was all new to me still.”

Stella McCartney: It’s time to scream and shout about sustainability

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney thinks it’s time to “scream and shout” about sustainability.
The 48-year-old designer is well-known for her environmentally-conscious clothes, and Stella believes there is now an “urgency for change”.
She told British Vogue magazine: “Challenging and questioning things has been drilled into me since I was a kid.
“Over the years I have sat back, quietly working on my sustainability projects in the background. But now, more than ever, there is an urgency for change. If we have to scream and shout to achieve it, then we need to do that to drive action.”
Stella thinks the issue of sustainability is “a conversation that shouldn’t be saved for one day or week a year”.
She continued: “The world is crying out for change.
“The younger generation is telling us that our house is on fire and that we need to respond like we are in a crisis – because we are, in fact, in a crisis.”
Meanwhile, Stella previously revealed what her life is like as a mother and the head of major fashion brand, admitting she has to get up “super early” to fit everything in.
The designer – who has Miller, 15, Bailey, 13, Beckett, 12, and Reiley, nine – shared: “I start at 6:30am, and by the time I get to work [by bicycle], I feel like I’m literally done for the day. I’m a big hot sweaty mess, too.
“It’s just so difficult being in fashion, isn’t it? We have to pretend to be so perfect. I’m the one that comes in with a punk-rock kind of ‘f**k this perfection.’ It’s not maintainable, it’s not wise, and it’s very old-fashioned. So there you go.
“When you’ve got a job and you’ve got kids it’s when you get to see them, and you have to wake up super early and engage in that moment. Then I try and squeeze in some exercise, and then I go to work. And I try and get back for the book-ending of being a mum.”

Kaia Gerber: TikTok makes me feel old

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaia Gerber says TikTok makes her feel “old”.
The 18-year-old model is currently at home in Los Angeles amid the coronavirus pandemic, but she’s yet to create a TikTok account – unlike many of her showbiz pals – to keep herself entertained during the lockdown.
She joked: “I haven’t personally gotten into TikTok yet because it makes me feel old.
“Which is crazy, but I still don’t know how to use it [and] the dances are so hard. I have so much respect for the people that take the time to learn them – it’s a true art form.”
Kaia is also currently in the midst of a “pretty big break” from her make-up and skin-care regimen.
However, the model continues to wear her favourite fragrance, even though she’s got nowhere to go.
She told Allure magazine: “I’ve been wearing [the fragrance] since I was 12 or 13.
“I put it on – even though I’m not leaving the house – because it keeps me sane and makes me feel like I haven’t [strayed] too far away from my normal routine.”
Meanwhile, Kaia previously revealed she was “worried” when she was named Model of the Year.
The catwalk star admitted the title left her panicking about what else she could still achieve, even though she’s still in her teens.
Kaia – who is the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber – said: “I was quite worried because I thought, ‘Oh my God, what do I do now?'”
Kaia was just 10 years old when she made her modelling debut and didn’t even realise it was work.
She explained: “It was for Versace Kids and I loved it but I had no idea what I was doing.
“I didn’t even realise it was a job. I was like, ‘This is work?'”

Karlie Kloss tried to stop herself from growing

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss tried to stop herself from growing during her younger years.
The 27-year-old model – who is 6’2″ tall – has revealed she felt embarrassed about her height during her childhood and she even tried to stop herself from growing.
The blonde beauty told Naomi Campbell’s ‘No Filter with Naomi’ YouTube series: “I really struggled with being so tall my whole life. It’s not like when I was 16 all of a sudden I shot up – since kindergarten, I was taller than all the boys, I was taller than all the teachers.
“I tried to stop myself from growing. I was trying so hard … ‘Cause I heard all these things about how people were helping themselves keep growing but I would have given anything to stop growing.
“I remember trying to put weights on my head and nothing worked. If there was an option (to stunt my growth), I would have done it.”
Karlie actually used to lie about her height, telling people she was 5’11”.
The model also revealed that at 13, she was told she was too tall to be a professional ballerina.
Katlie shared: “When I was 13, I was probably 5’8″ or 5’9” already and I was told I would never have a career as a professional ballerina, which was fine because that was never my intention.
“What I learned from ballet was actually how to love my body, how to stand tall, and command presence with movement.”
But on reflection, Karlie thinks her height has actually proven to be beneficial.
She said: “I’m really tall so I would always close the catwalk shows with a big long gown because every designer knew I could carry it off.”

Megan Thee Stallion praises Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion has always been proud of her height.
The 25-year-old rapper says she is “5ft 10in, probably 6ft 2in in heels” but was never self-conscious about being tall because she always admired leggy supermodels including Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen and Naomi Campbell.
Megan told British Vogue: “I’m 5ft 10in, probably 6ft 2in in heels. Honestly, nobody in my family told me that being tall was a bad thing. My family made me feel like I was so beautiful and I looked at a lot of models, the women my mom would put in my face -Tyra Banks, Gisele, Naomi Campbell – so it was like, ‘Oh, that’s me!’ Not skinny, but because I’m super tall. So when people tried to tease me, I didn’t see the insult. I love being tall, I like the air up here.”
Megan also revealed she has been relaxing at home during the Covid-19 lockdown and joked she has forgotten how to do her make-up because it is so long since she wore any.
She explained: “Honestly, I’m learning more about myself. I didn’t even know that I like to be by myself. Every time one of my friends tries to come over, I’m like, ‘Dang, we supposed to be social distancing, what y’all doing?’
“But I feel good. I haven’t given myself a full face of make-up in a long time. I don’t know if I remember how to do it! I have a little studio built in here so when I feel like recording, I go record. I’m playing video games – oh, and I’m reading books. I found a ginormous old dictionary, and me and Farris [Megan’s day-to-day manager T. Farris] learn three new words every day. I’m also reading this super-cool book called ‘Mysterious Creatures: Mysteries of the Unknown’.”

Henry Holland’s ’emotional turmoil’ over closure of fashion label

OHMYGOSSIP — The final six months of House of Holland were “difficult emotionally, physically and financially” for founder Henry Holland.
The 36-year-old fashion designer’s company – which he stepped down from earlier this year – went into administration in March and Henry has admitted that his failing business caused major “emotional turmoil”.
Writing in British Vogue, he explained: “The final six months in business became increasingly difficult emotionally, physically and financially, until it became apparent that the most responsible thing to do was to draw a line in the sand. The emotional turmoil of closing a business was one that was heavy to bear.”
However, now that the plug has been pulled on the business, Henry revealed he is feeling a sense of relief.
He said: “But now, on the other side, while unemployed in the craziest economic time we’ve experienced in a generation, I can’t help but feel a sense of relief. Relief I am no longer letting people down. Relief I am no longer pretending everything is perfect when in fact it’s not. And relief most of all that I have space and time to think about what it is I want from my working life.”
And Henry admitted he has suffered from “imposter syndrome” throughout his career, despite the success he enjoyed with the company.
He said: “In my entire career as a fashion designer I’ve fought with an imposter complex and sheer disbelief that I have been so lucky. I’ve tried at every step to approach it with gratitude and appreciation, because making creative ideas a reality is such a privilege. I don’t wish that there was anything I had known when I started out, as I think the naivety of how we approached everything is what made it work.”
The designer is now taking some time out to decide what he wants to focus on in the future.
He said: “What’s next? I really don’t know at the moment. I’m working on a lot of different projects and forcing myself to pause and think. Whatever the next chapter holds, I will never enter a job that doesn’t fill me with endless joy and pride. For that I will always have House of Holland to thank.”

Rihanna’s Anti inspired design of new movie Selah and the Spades

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna’s ‘Anti’ inspired the look of new movie ‘Selah and the Spades’.
The film – directed by Tayarisha Poe – tells the story of secret factions at an elite boarding school in Pennsylvania and cinematographer Jomo Fray says the movie’s visuals were inspired by Rihanna’s 2016 studio album ‘Anti’.
Describing the movie’s visual design as “savage formalism”, Jomo told Variety: “It was ‘savage’ in the way of Rihanna’s ‘Anti’ album, meaning cold, powerful, brutal and bold.”
Director Poe added: “Jomo is a collaborator who speaks of Rihanna’s oeuvre and the societal effects of brutalist architecture with the same gravity.”
Meanwhile, Rihanna previously admitted making the album was a “challenge” but said she just wanted to “make a body of work that felt right”.
She wrote on Instagram: “I released my most anticipated album to date #ANTi ….When I started making this album I never would have imagined how much of a challenge the process would be. I was evolving in the midst of making a body of art that was supposed to reflect who I was in that moment, yet it was the very answer I didn’t have! I was numb for a while…numb to all the bullsh*t and numb to all the good sh*t. But I was determined not to settle for what everybody thought this should be, or when they thought it should come, or how! I stuck to it until I felt something again! “And I remember like it was yesterday, the night it happened! We rented a house in Malibu for a couple months and did MUSIC! Every room, every couch, every corner, there were musicians everywhere, the whole Fenty Corp, the best times! 1 night we vibing, TyTy made a comment, and I got super sensitive, lolol! Then I thought ‘hold up, did I just feel a way?? Did I just FEEL???!!’ It was in that moment that I trusted myself, trusted my ear, trusted my gut, trusted the way that my music made me FEEL!!! I had no idea how it would be received, neither was that something I considered. I just wanted to make a body of work that felt right!
“And to the most beautiful, loyal fans that anyone would kill to have on their team, you were right there by my side waiting (im)patiently the entire time! To have the support of so many, with the enthusiasm that we shared for Anti felt like such a reward! I cannot thank you enough for loving her the way you do! And to every single person that was a part of the process from sound to aesthetic, thank you and I cherish you! May the Glory be to God! (sic).”

Hedi Slimane curates lockdown movie list

OHMYGOSSIP — Hedi Slimane has curated a collection of movies for people to watch during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Celine’s artistic, creative and image director – who previously worked as creative director for Dior Homme and Saint Laurent – has partnered with streaming service MUBI to put together a collection of 10 films which will be available to watch for free until the end of May.
A message on MUBI’s Instagram reads: “Hedi Slimane, Artistic Director of @celine, has curated a selection of films for MUBI. His collection spans hallmarks of Hollywood suavity, to edgy cult classics – and kicks off with Curtis Harrington’s NIGHT TIDE, starring Dennis Hopper. Available to watch until May 31. Link in bio. #CURATEDBYHEDISLIMANE (sic).”
The selection includes cult, classic and indie movies such as ‘Apocalypse Now’, ‘Paris, Texas’, ‘The 400 Blows’, ‘Persona’, ‘Charade’, ‘Pierrot Le Fou’, ‘Night Tide’ and ‘Le Cercle Rouge’.
Meanwhile, Hedi recently revealed he can’t style a fashion show without the right music and admitted that he relies heavily on music to perfect his shows.
Hedi, 51, told British Vogue: “Without getting the music right, I cannot style the show, which can be very frustrating. The soundtrack and cast are what define the styling, its degree of credibility, its authenticity. What you hear and what you see are all part of one thing, one world as a whole.
“In a way, I almost illustrate the sound, just like in a film or a music video. Sometimes it’s really hard and I only get the right track a week before the show, and the entire direction of the show shifts accordingly.”

Alicia Silverstone recalls ‘hurtful’ fat-shaming

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Silverstone says it was “hurtful” when she was body-shamed while filming ‘Batman & Robin’.
The 43-year-old actress portrayed Batgirl in Joel Schumacher’s poorly received Batman movie and Alicia admitted that taunts of “Fatgirl” from some members of the paparazzi at the time were upsetting.
She told The Guardian newspaper: “They would make fun of my body when I was younger. It was hurtful but I knew they were wrong. I wasn’t confused. I knew that it was not right to make fun of someone’s body shape, that doesn’t seem like the right thing to be doing to a human.”
Meanwhile, Alicia – who is a passionate advocate for veganism – recently revealed that the Covid-19 lockdown has made her more mindful than ever about what she and her eight-year-old son Bear eat.
She said: “The fact that there isn’t school and birthday parties, and that I’m not going out to dinner is making us a little more healthy and cleaner anyway. There’s less that we have to balance out. But I’m really mindful that I want to keep our immune systems really strong so that we’re able to be resilient and fend off any infections and take control of our health as best we can. I’m cooking things like miso soups, kenpira stew…recipes that are really nourishing and healing.”
She added that she is working on a new line of her organic vitamins, explaining: “I’m working on some really cool new products for the fall. What’s special is that they are the only 100% certified non-GMO organic vitamins with no binders or fillers – just pure food inside them.”

Drew Barrymore embracing grey hairs

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore is embracing her grey hairs.
The 45-year-old actress – who has daughters Olive, seven, and Frankie, five, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman, 41 – revealed that since having kids and turning 40, she is less worried about her appearance.
Writing in The Sunday Times Style magazine, she said: “Now I’m a mom and in my mid-forties, I have the hair I like — drama-free and more natural.
“It takes 30 minutes to do my base of greys. I only barely cover them, so that the follicles can still grab the light as it grows out. (Yes, your greys can double as highlights with the right tint!)”
Drew also insisted she was never afraid to take risks with fashion.
She said: “I have always experimented with style over my life too. I wasn’t ever the classic girl. I remember at my 10th birthday party putting eye shadow up to my temples. I always loved dressing in a way that made me feel like I was a billboard for joy. I just didn’t suit that clean classic look. I felt much more myself in crazy make-up and being somewhere like a music festival where there were other like-minded dressers.
“Fashion for me wasn’t about expensive clothes and looking put together, it was about how I put it together. Mixing and matching vintage with labels. Sneakers with pajama pants and a Dries Van Noten sweater. White eyeliner with a shiny wet maroon lip, with a feather in my hair.”
And Drew revealed that Olive is following in her quirky fashion footsteps.
She wrote: “Olive’s attitude to style is the same – though I have in no way encouraged or influenced this! She loves to change her hair – the bluer to pinker the better. She even alters her own clothes with scissors and safety pins.”

Sara Sampaio opens up about anxiety, depression and trichotillomania

OHMYGOSSIP — Sara Sampaio suffers from anxiety, depression and the hair-pulling disorder trichotillomania.
The 28-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel opened up about her mental health in a Q&A with fans on Instagram and admitted that the Covid-19 pandemic has been making her more anxious.
She explained: “I actually deal with anxiety and depression on a regular basis, so I’ve got to be honest, the first few weeks I was the least anxious I’ve ever been but the past few weeks I’ve been a little bit more down and anxious.”
Sara also spoke about her trichotillomania, which she first developed when she was a teenager, and revealed that it is something she still struggles with.
She told her fans: “I haven’t cured mine, I’ve had it since I was 15 and I still do it. There are times when I pick more than others. There were a couple of weeks in quarantine when I was just ripping them off. However, I find that when my nails are short I don’t tend to pick as much and that helps them grow back so I’ve been trying to keep them short during quarantine.”
One fan told the model that their diet is “messed up” during quarantine and asked for some advice but Sara admitted she is in the same boat.
The model said: “So is mine. All I can tell you is it’s fine. When quarantine is over and we all go back to our routines, we can all make up for this crazy time so don’t beat yourself up, just enjoy it.”

Geri Horner takes fashion inspiration from Queen Elizabeth

OHMYGOSSIP — Geri Horner takes fashion inspiration from Queen Elizabeth.
The 47-year-old Spice Girls singer is a huge fan of the British monarch and admitted that the 94-year-old royal’s bright outfits always improve her mood.
Speaking about dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, Geri told British Vogue: “When – like now – I feel powerless, the Queen reminds me that I can still decide to put a smile on my face, to brush my hair and put on a fabulous dress. It might sound shallow but… isn’t that the power of clothes? I know that when I put on something stylish, it instantly gives me a lift. Fashion can generate a sense of optimism, and Her Majesty, in her vibrant palette of purples, oranges, greens and pinks, has always recognised that.”
And Geri is determined to mimic both the royal’s “stoic determination” and her fashionable outfit choices.
She explained: “Sometimes there is ugliness in the world that we cannot control, but we can control how we respond to it. Of course, I’m human, with fears, and the occasional urge to cry out, ‘What about me?!’ But over the years I’ve learned that, when I act better than I feel, I eventually do feel better. The Queen embodies that stoic determination: she’s an icon of strength – the ultimate symbol of girl power.
“So if you’re struggling to adapt to our new reality, and our dramatically altered way of life, ask yourself: What would the Queen do? For me, the answer is to act with courage and kindness. And if possible, to do it wearing pearls.”
