Charlotte Tilbury’s sculpting secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Tilbury says her new bronzer can “change the facial architecture”.
The 47-year-old make-up mogul’s latest product is her Airbrush Bronzer and she believes it is perfect for “nose contouring” and giving a more defined look.
She said: “A matte bronzer is the secret to really changing the facial architecture as the natural tan tones mimic the way skin tans, to slim and lift. When you sculpt with my new Airbrush Bronzer it gives the look and feel of your lifted summer self! This matte bronzer is perfect for nose contouring, for a sun-kissed summer bronze up and for a more defined, contoured look – from head to toe!”
Meanwhile, make-up artist Charlotte previously revealed she chose to create her own brand after working for others and deciding she wanted to “game change” the industry.
She added: “I knew I always wanted to have a brand, a global one, ever since I was a child in boarding school putting makeup on. When you’re working for other brands, you’re working in their DNA. I had this frustration. Charlotte Tilbury can’t exist for other brands. I had to exist for my own brand. I had looks and textures I wanted to game change … [My magic cream] came about when I worked backstage with models who were exhausted. They’d have flared up skin from flying in from New York, Paris, and London doing 60 fashion shows. I needed a cream that would turn skin around not in 28 days, but 28 seconds.”
And Charlotte praised the “dream teams” around the world – at home and at work – for helping her create her own dream.
She said: “I have dream teams everywhere. At work, it’s the labs, the PR, the marketing, the finance. At home, it’s my nanny, my housekeeper, my family, husband, sister, and nieces who help with my kids. I’m lucky to have found incredible people that help make my dreams come true.”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s no fuss make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow prefers “quick and no fuss” make-up.
The 47-year-old actress often works with make-up artist Lisa Aharon and Lisa says Gwyneth is an extremely low-key client.
She told goop: “We usually do something just fresh and pretty, or we do something with a smoky eye. GP likes everything to be quick and no fuss. Whenever I can use a cream base, I do: Cream formulas keep the look simple and natural, for that beauty-from-within feeling.”
Speaking about using Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Hydrating Face Mist on Gwyneth, she added: “GP doesn’t really love being in the makeup chair, and starting with this face spritz changes everything. I discovered it at an In goop Health summit–it plumps and hydrates skin, and everything I put on next gets absorbed better, too.”
Gwyneth’s fuss-free beauty regime extends to at-home face masks and Lisa says she always notices a difference when Gwyneth has done her own treatments at home.
She said: “I always start with a lot of skin care. It makes all the difference. You can tell when she’s used the goop peel the night before. The glow is that noticeable.”

With the link in my bio, we have brought in 12,500 meals and that’s without my donations. So incredible… [love heart emoji] (sic)”
Bella subsequently explained the extent of the problems facing underprivileged people in New York.
She said: “The reality of all of this is that 1.2 MILLION New Yorkers were already without reliable access to nutritious meals.
“Through this global emergency, Food Bank Nyc is now seeing a 50% increase in need, with no immediate slowdown in sight. the best thing we can do is continue to increase awareness , for now and post- COVID, to help support the families of NYC who are struggling.. Nearly 40% of New York’s soup kitchens and food pantries are closed.
“This is why we need to stick together and help in any way we can. Whether that is donating or just spreading the word. Let’s continue to think about the ones around us. Love you all so much. (sic)”

Victoria’s Secret announces store closures in US and Canada

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria’s Secret is planning to permanently close around a quarter of its stores in the United States and Canada.
The world-famous lingerie company has confirmed it will close as many as 250 stores across the two countries over the next few months, with the coronavirus pandemic having a dramatic impact on its business.
Stuart Burgdoerfer, the interim chief executive of Victoria’s Secret, also suggested there could be further store closures in 2021 and 2022, as the company adjusts to a new economic reality.
Burgdoerfer said there is likely to be “a meaningful number of additional store closures” next year, and “probably a bit more” in 2022.
Last year, meanwhile, Victoria’s Secret decided to cancel its annual fashion show, saying it was instead focused on a new marketing strategy.
The brand and its fashion show – which has previously featured the likes of Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner – has come under fire in recent years, with critics claiming the concept and its notion of beauty is now outdated.
Victoria’s Secret has also faced stiff competition from Rihanna’s high-profile Savage X Fenty line, which has eaten into the company’s market share.
The chart-topping pop star has turned to some of her showbiz pals – including Normani and Megan Thee Stallion – to promote her brand.
And Normani admitted she was thrilled to have joined forces with the Bajan beauty.
She said: “Savage X celebrates and empowers women of all shapes, sizes, and colours. I am so grateful for this opportunity and excited for what’s to come with my new Savage X family.”

Karen Elson bullied over modelling dreams

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Elson was bullied for wanting to be a model.
The 41-year-old model and singer was just 16 years old when she was signed to Boss Model Management but admitted that her early teenage years were an unhappy time as cruel peers laughed at her for her aspirations.
Speaking to Vogue.co.uk, Karen said: “I was bullied a lot. Nobody expected anything of me. I’ll never forget, they all laughed at me. Everybody [at school] coming up to me and saying: ‘You’re not fit to model socks.’ But I wanted more.”
Karen cites her Vogue Italia cover in February 1997, on her 18th birthday, as her breakout moment.
She said: “That was the shoot that essentially made my career.”
Karen – who now lives in Nashville – has returned to her hometown of Oldham, Manchester for a new Vogue documentary but admitted she was filled with “panic” at the idea of going back.
She explained: “My first thought when Vogue asked me to return to Oldham was panic. Why do I not like going home? Whenever I come back here, I’m confronted with what I left, everything that I ran away from essentially… I’m bigger than this, I’m going to escape, I’m going to get out of here. That was the dream.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella Maxwell has “different emotions for different outfits”.
The 30-year-old model changes her clothing with her mood but revealed that while she is quarantining amid the Covid-19 pandemic, she is living in tie-dyed tracksuits.
She told Harper’s Bazaar US: “I have different emotions for different outfits. But right now my happy place are some nice, comfortable tie-dye jogging top and bottoms.”
And Stella has been donating to fashion-related charities during the global health crisis.
She said: “I’ve been a part of a few fashion-related charities such as AmFAR with Carine Roitfeld. I’ve also donated medical supplies to doctors. I think everyone doing their small part always makes for a better whole.”
And Stella recently revealed that the outbreak of the coronavirus has helped her to reevaluate her own outlook on life.
She told V magazine: “I think this has changed everyone’s outlook on life. Really one can not help but be reminded of the fragile nature of our existence. I have certainly been reminded that we should appreciate every moment we have both with others and our own self. To appreciate the liberties we sometimes take for granted.”
However, she is missing work and her friends.
She explained: “I love being home in Los Angeles so I have no complaints about being here for the summer. I really travel for work. And I miss working so much. I love modelling and love my friends who I work with. But I am okay to stay home and let us as a world get back on track.”

The 28-year-old model loves summer fashion and revealed her precious Chanel backpack always makes her happy.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar US, she said: “Anything related to summer makes me happy: summer dresses, shorts, hats. I have a vintage white Chanel backpack that I really love, and it always reminds me of summer.”

She explained: “I’m home with my boyfriend. We haven’t spent this much time together in a really long time, so it’s been kind of nice. The most important part for us is to give each other space when we need it, because being 24/7 with the same person can sometimes be too much, so it’s important to know when you need some me time.”
And the star has been doing her best to give back during the global health crisis.
She said: “Besides WHO and food banks, I’ve been trying to support my local restaurants and also been making sure I buy gift cards from people whose services I usually use day-to-day, who now can’t work, like trainers, masseuses, cleaners, etc.”

Gucci to reduce catwalk schedule

OHMYGOSSIP — Gucci will reduce its catwalk schedule to twice a year.
Creative director Alessandro Michele has revealed that the Covid-19 lockdown has made him reevaluate how the Italian fashion house operates and one of the first major changes he has decided to make is to cut back on how often Gucci holds shows.
In one of his diary entries, which has been shared on Gucci’s Instagram, Alessandro wrote: “I will abandon the worn-out ritual of seasonalities and shows to regain a new cadence, closer to my expressive call. We will meet just twice a year, to share the chapters of a new story. Irregular, joyful and absolutely free chapters, which will be written blending rules and genres. feeding on new spaces, linguistic codes and communication platforms.
“….cruise, pre-fall, spring-summer, fall-winter. I think these are stale and underfed words. Labels of an impersonal discourse that lost its meaning. Containers that progressively detached themselves from the life that generated them, losing touch with reality.
“I believe that we can build our tomorrow also starting from a renewed capacity of denomination. Here comes the desire to baptize our new encounters by naming them after a language that has marvelously ancient roots: classical music language. Accordingly, there will be symphonies, rhapsodies, madrigals, nocturnes, overtures, concerts and minuets in the constellation of my creative path. Music, after all, has the sacred power to produce reverberations and connections. It travels beyond the borders, reconnecting the fragility to the infinity (sic).”
Alessandra also insisted it is important to move away from deadlines and “an excessive performativity” in order to “build a new creative universe”.
He wrote: “That is why I decided to build a new path, away from deadlines that the industry consolidated and, above all, away from an excessive performativity that today really has no raison d’être. It’s a foundational act, audacious but necessary, that aims at building a new creative universe. A universe that essentialises itself in the subtraction of events and that oxygenates through the multiplication of sense.”

Paul Mescal auctioning chain for charity

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Mescal is auctioning off a chain for charity.
The chain belonging to the 24-year-old actor’s ‘Normal People’ character Connell Waldron has become a huge hit with viewers and even has its own Instagram account, and Paul has decided to donate one of his own accessories to a raffle for Pieta House, which works to prevent suicide and self-harm.
Paul said: “I am delighted to be able to help out Pieta by raffling off my chain that has taken on a following of its own since ‘Normal People’ hit television screens. Pieta is a cause very close to my heart, having experienced loss due to suicide in my local town while growing up.
“Episode 10 of Normal People also touches upon depression and suicidal ideation, so it seemed like a very special partnership to want to help those in similar situations. I want to play my part in helping sustain these free services across Ireland.”
Proceeds from the raffle will to go Pieta’s work in providing free therapy to those engaging in self-harm, with suicidal ideation, or bereaved by suicide.
A message on the raffle page reads: “‘Normal People’s Paul Mescal, who plays Connell Waldron, has teamed up with Pieta, to raffle off a personal chain and raise much needed funds. The coming of age show is a TV adaptation of Irish author Sally Rooney’s iconic novel, which has taken the world by storm in recent weeks and has broken records on both the BBC Player and the RTÉ Player.
“The postponement of Pieta’s flagship fundraiser Darkness into Light due to COVID-19 left the charity with a very significant funding gap this year. Pieta relies on the public for 80 per cent of its funding to ensure they can provide continuous availability of their national mental health service free of charge.
“The raffle will be open for two weeks from May 25th until Monday June 8th. To be in with a chance to win Paul’s chain and support Pieta there will be four options to choose from which will impact the number of times you enter the raffle – the more you donate the more likely you are to win this extremely sought-after prize!”

Reese Witherspoon used to worry about body image

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon used to worry about “body image”.
The 44-year-old actress has become more confident as she has gotten older but admitted she used to worry about her looks and many other things.
Asked what advice, she would give her younger self, Reese told Glamour UK: “I would tell her not to worry so much. I think that I spent a lot of time worrying about things that really didn’t matter but it’s not entirely my fault. Culture told young women they had to worry about things. What we value about women then is very different than what we value about women now. I would say, ‘hold on sister, it’s about to get a lot better!’ I stuck it out. I endured a lot of really yucky conversations and bad situations to get where I am. Also, I have a million wonderful adventures that brought me to this place. I’m an accumulation of all those ups and downs. I feel really, really strong at 44 years old. I’ve been through a lot and I’ve got a lot more to go!
“About body image, not being enough or being too much for people. My ambition was too big. My ideas were too strong. I was a little too loud, too friendly, too upbeat, too emotional.”
Reese’s ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ co-star Kerry Washington, 43, also admitted she had body worries too when she was younger.
She explained: “It’s about not being not so worried about taking up space, right? With my body, with my attitude, with my influence. Don’t worry about being ‘big’. It’s OK to be big, loud and bold. Even to make really big mistakes, take big risks, learn big stuff, have big tears, just do it, just go for it. This one, precious life is all you got.”

Gucci won’t show at Fashion Week in September

OHMYGOSSIP — Gucci will not show at Fashion Week in September.
Creative director Alessandro Michele doesn’t believe that Fashion Week will be possible in September due to the Covid-19 pandemic and he wants to choose another date for his catwalk shows.
He said: “I don’t think we will meet in person next time. We have been shut down for a long time so I don’t think we will have a regular calendar for September. I want to recover a new kind of time – real and practical – so we’ll choose another date.”
The Covid-19 lockdown has made Alessandro reevaluate how the Italian fashion house operates and one of the first major changes he has decided to make is to cut back on Gucci shows to just twice a year, which he hopes other labels will also do.
Speaking to Vogue.co.uk, Alessandro said: “We are a big brand, so we have a responsibility to take care of our industry. We need to give it the time that’s needed. The things we make have a longer life than what we have allotted to them in the past. We all agree that fall and spring are the most appropriate [time frames] to show our work, but I hope that other brands will follow us so we can have an open dialogue to arrange new dates.”
And Alessandro believes this is the right move forward for the fashion industry.
He explained: “I have designed a future for this company by also looking to the past. I’m convinced that moving forward also means going back to the origins of this wonderful industry. We will update it, but we will have to restore what we had in the past, and maybe show you a more inventive product. To do that we need more time.”

Julianne Hough’s dance breaks

OHMYGOSSIP — Julianne Hough takes dance breaks to remain productive.
The 31-year-old actress and dancer loves to get up and dance when she is losing concentration and says the movement break always helps her to get back on track with her work.
Speaking to Travelandleisure.com, Julianne said: “I’m not telling people to do some choreographed routine or anything but just, like get up and dance to feel-good music. When you have an emotional charge that brings your vibration up to a higher state I think that you can be more productive.”
Julianne has launched her own dance workouts, via her company Kinrgy, and she is excited that people can still take part in the classes while quarantining at home amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The award winning choreographer explained: “Being able to serve and reach people through technology has been honestly a really big blessing [because] we can now serve and connect with people now globally.”
And Julianne is also enjoying getting out in nature and running whenever she can.
She said: “I kind of reframed working out a little bit. I used to hate to run, I felt like running was a chore and I’ve been running in the morning, and it’s not like a far run, but just a little jog in the morning that I’ve never done before.
“It’s about the connection to nature and meeting people and saying hello for the first time. I feel even more connected to my home and the people that are around me, yet I feel like I have time for myself.”

Drew Barrymore ‘works her butt off’ in training

OHMYGOSSIP — Drew Barrymore “works her butt off” during training.
The 45-year-old actress has worked out with trainer Marnie Alton for the past 15 years and Marnie says she is constantly blown away by Drew’s work ethic.
She told Women’s Health: “The girl works hard; I’ll give her that. She blows my mind. She’s got the spirit and energy that you would imagine she would.
“I find her to be a really hard worker, she takes direction and she wants to learn, so she trusts and she works her butt off. She also allows herself to be vulnerable, she allows herself to be directed, she allows herself to take risks, and she works really hard so for me that’s an ideal client.”
And Drew loves to do crunches to work on her core.
Marnie said: “She loves anything core-related. She loves crunches, all different types of crunches, so that’s something that we definitely focus on. Typically we do that towards the end once the spine is really supported, so that we can get more into the abs and not hurt the back.
“For me, I come from a place where I think we have everything we need. You don’t even need weights, you don’t need shoes, you don’t need machines. You need properly sequenced bodyweight movements and then you need to connect with them mentally.”
And music plays a huge part in Drew’s workouts.
Marnie explained: “One of the things that I focus on a lot is not ‘getting through the exercise;’ it’s about feeling what it felt like”
“The music in our workouts is never background music, so I design playlists that have certain BPMs (beats per minute) so that we can do certain exercises on the beat. The music’s going at a certain pace, we’re going at a certain pace. It’s all working together.”

Kate Upton has been training relentlessly amid lockdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Upton has trained “52 out of the last 58 days from her living room”.
The 27-year-old model – who has Genevieve, 18 months, with Justin Verlander – has been working out relentlessly amid the coronavirus lockdown, according to her personal trainer Ben Bruno.
Alongside a video clip of Kate, Ben wrote on Instagram: “This is so awesome. @kateupton does 11 reverse lunges per leg with a 53 pound (24 kilogram) kettlebell, with great form. That’s some real work!
“Kate and I are on opposite sides of the country, but we’ve been training remotely through Facetime and she’s trained 52 out of the last 58 days from her living room. She has three kettlebells, a band, and a stability ball – that’s it – but we’ve managed to do 52 great workouts and keep getting stronger and more fit.
“There are no secrets or quick fixes when it comes to getting in shape; hard work and consistency is the name of the game. Our program is so simple, but it’s not easy. We’ve done our best to replicate our gym workouts at home and used progressive overload to keep getting stronger, and she’s now lunging the kettlebell she used to deadlift. (sic)”
Ben loves Kate’s enthusiastic attitude to fitness, joking she’s now “officially a meathead”.
His post continued: “I love her attitude about training. Whenever I give her the option to keep the weight the same or go up, she always chooses to go up and says, “let’s see what happens but I think I can do it”. When you have that attitude and show up regularly, good things happen.
“I’ve told her that based on how hard she trains and the weights she can lift now, she’s officially a meathead. Show her some love because she really works her a*s off. (sic)”

Kenneth Cole launches the Mental Health Coalition

OHMYGOSSIP — Kenneth Cole has launched a new initiative designed to fight stigmas around mental health.
The 66-year-old fashion designer is seeking to bring together health organisations, platforms, and advocates through the Mental Health Coalition, and he admits that the coronavirus pandemic has created an extra complexity.
He explained: “It’s a public health crisis. The impact the physical virus is going to have on our communities is devastating in and of itself, but I think the emotional implications are going to be even more severe and long-lasting.”
The Mental Health Coalition has created a social media challenge that asks, “How are you, really?”
The campaign has received support from the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Kesha, Kendall Jenner, and Justin Bieber – and is encouraging people to discuss their own mental health issues.
Asked why storytelling was such an important element to the Mental Health Coalition, Kenneth told Vogue magazine: “Several months ago, it was actually my daughter whose idea was to do a storytelling platform, which ended up being embraced by everybody because everything today is about storytelling.
“It’s the world we live in, and there’s all the science that supports and validates it as a tool. So we built this platform that could aggregate content in a way that empowers people to tell their stories in a way that’s safe and on their own terms.
“They can make it private or public, and if it was the latter, other people could engage with it. It starts around the fundamental question of “How are you doing, really?” It’s very provocative, and the single most asked question in every language and every culture every day of the week.”
