Bella Hadid calls for justice for George Floyd

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Hadid has called for justice for George Floyd.
The 23-year-old model has taken to Instagram to voice her sympathy for Floyd, who recently died on the streets of Minneapolis, and has told anyone who disagrees with her stance to unfollow her on social media.
Bella – who has 31 million followers on Instagram – said: “I’ve been sitting here listening. Understanding. Educating myself . Making calls to demand justice. Donating. And reaching out to friends just in case they feel hurt or lost this week.
“If you are not standing in solidarity with the black community TODAY and EVERYDAY. Please unfollow me. (sic)”
Bella has voiced her support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The model also revealed she intends to donate money to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), which fights for justice for African Americans.
Her Instagram post continued: “Black lives matter…Black voices matter and the black community matters
“Today I will be standing with and donating to @NAACP_LDF, one of America’s oldest civil rights law organizations, which fights for police reform every day. ‘Partial justice is not justice at all–until all of the officers involved in the brutal murder of George Floyd are arrested, we will keep the pressure on.’ (sic)”
Prior to that, Bella insisted Floyd’s death could “not be overlooked”.
She wrote on Instagram: “I’m sure all of you feel the same way but my sadness has viciously turned into anger…this will not be overlooked!! (sic)”
Derek Chauvin, an ex-policeman in Minneapolis, has been charged with murdering Floyd, 46. He is due to appear in court on Monday (01.06.20).

Erdem Moralioglu ‘allowed his imagination to run’ during childhood

OHMYGOSSIP — Erdem Moralioglu allowed his “imagination to run” after realising he was gay.
The 43-year-old fashion designer realised he was gay during his childhood, and Erdem feels his closed-off outlook helped to fuel his imagination.
Erdem – who is married to architect Philip Joseph – explained: “When I first realised I was gay, as a child, I was so totally closed.
“If you told me I would be happily married one day I would never have believed it. But that feeling of being closed also allowed my imagination to run.”
Erdem was encouraged to participate in teams sports during his childhood.
But ultimately, he settled on “drawing and daydreaming” to pass the time.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “As a child in the suburbs, I tried to avoid anything that was team-related. I had a very brief career, from the age of eight, on a football team, and I tried ice hockey.
“My father dreamed I might be the first half-Turkish hockey pro. It came to nothing. I spent most of my time drawing and daydreaming.”
Erdem was raised in a household with different cultural influences.
And, over time, the designer has learned to embrace his “heritage”.
Reflecting on his upbringing, Erdem – who was born in Montreal, Canada, but was raised in England – recalled: “My mum’s family lived in the Midlands, my dad’s in Eastern Turkey. They had different accents and I had a different name to everyone else. That was uncomfortable.
“Now I see that acute contrast of heritage is not only a wonderful thing, it’s who I am.”

Nina Agdal is following a nighttime skincare routine during quarantine

OHMYGOSSIP — Nina Agdal has been following a 11-step nighttime skincare routine during the coronavirus lockdown.
The 28-year-old model never used to take care of her skin at the end of the day because she was always too tired to bother with the lengthy process of removing her makeup and “practicing self-care and self-love”.
But since stay-at-home orders were put in place across the US as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Nina now has time to indulge in a full 11-step routine, which she says her skin is “very excited about”.
Speaking in a video for Harper’s Bazaar’s ‘Go to Bed with Me’ series, she said: “My nighttime routine is actually brand spanking new. And let me tell you why. I’ve never been really good at continuing a nighttime routine. Here’s the thing, when I’m tired, when I’m sleepy, there’s no return, there’s no going to the sink, taking off your makeup, going through a whole process, practicing self-care and self-love – it’s not happening. When I’m sleepy, it’s done. It’s over.”
To combat her sleep-induced laziness, Nina does her routine “super early”, which sees her begin winding down ready for bed at 6pm.
She added: “But ever since the quarantine happened, I have had the time to do this. When I say time, I mean I do it super early now. So I will take my nighttime shower, do my bedtime routine, get myself ready for bed, at 6pm. It’s been really fun to actually do it for the last couple of months. And I have to say my skin is definitely very excited about it.”
Nina’s process includes removing her makeup with a $36 Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser from Youth to the People, as well as wiping off any excess with Neutrogena’s $6 Oil-Free Gentle Eye Makeup Remover.
The model then applies two different serums – Dr. Barbara Sturm’s $300 Hyaluronic Serum, and the $68 Everyday CBD Serum from Superflower – before spritzing herself with a $12 facial spray from Mario Badescu.
Nina uses Olehenriksen’s $39 eye cream paired with a $38 hydrating night cream from First Aid Beauty to add some moisture to her skin, and follows up with a Tata Harper face oil costing $132.
To finish her nighttime routine, Nina uses the Honey Body Butter Ultra-Hydrating Body Cream from Farmacy, which costs $35.

Lizzo launches sunglass collection with Quay

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo has launched a sunglasses collection with Quay that gives meals to those in need with every purchase.
The ‘Juice’ hitmaker teamed up with the Australian eyewear brand for an eight-piece range of sunglasses in a range of styles, including classic cat-eye shapes and sparkling shades covered in rhinestones.
And to celebrate the launch of the line, Lizzo and Quay also joined forces with hunger relief organisation Feeding America to donate a total of one million meals through a “Buy one. Get one. Give 100 meals.” scheme.
The program began last week, and saw each purchase of Lizzo’s sunglasses equal a donation of 100 meals to those struggling with hunger in America, up to a total of one million meals.
In a statement, Lizzo said: “Quay is cool and fresh, but also inclusive and attainable. Their message of confidence and self-expression is something that I believe in and can stand behind. Combine all that with the opportunity to do good with Feeding America, and it doesn’t get much better than that.”
Meanwhile, Lizzo previously said she became so “addicted” to wearing makeup that she felt ugly without it.
She said: “I think it’s cool that we get the opportunity to turn off. My dream is to just take off my nails, not wear makeup and just grow my ‘fro out and walk around naked in my own garden … I think I’ve been in makeup every single day of my life for the last six months. We get addicted to seeing ourselves really dolled up. I had a few days off in Brazil back in February where I wasn’t in makeup and I remember being like, ‘Yo why am I so ugly to myself right now?’ … It’s because I got addicted, used to seeing my face with contour. I never thought that would happen because I’m such an earthy bitch, I can go days without makeup!'”

Cara Delevingne to release Pride collection with Puma

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne is set to drop a new capsule collection with Puma to celebrate Pride Month.
The 27-year-old actress and model will release the From Puma with Love collection on June 1, which will be comprised of 13 pieces themed around the rainbow pattern associated with the LGBTQ community.
Cara – who has been a Puma ambassador since 2016 – identifies as bisexual, and says the project connects with the issues close to her heart, as 20 percent of the proceeds from the line will go to LGBTQ charities including The Trevor Project, Mind Out, and GLAAD.
She said: “The LGBTQIA community has always been so important to me. This [collaboration] just made sense, you know? I’ve been so lucky with Puma, in everything we’ve ever discussed, they’ve always been open to new ideas and my perspective.”
The From Puma with Love collection includes t-shirts, crossbody bags, and sandals, and Cara says she wants people to be able to wear the items all-year round.
She added: “Obviously there are vibrant colours, but we wanted to do something different that wasn’t so obvious. The pieces are unisex and fun, but they’re things people can wear every day, not just during Pride month.
“I love the sandals, right now it’s just so easy and lovely to wear something you can slip on. I’ve been wearing [the collection] a lot because it’s all so comfortable – especially for workouts.”
This year has seen many Pride events cancelled or scaled back due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, and Cara believes it’s important to “celebrate” in whatever way possible.
Speaking to Vogue magazine, she said: “Now is the time to celebrate mental health and kindness, not just for our communities, but towards ourselves. Pride is not just a concept, it’s a way of life.”

Hailey Bieber ‘loves’ hats

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber “loves hats” after learning the importance of protecting herself from the sun.
The 23-year-old model admitted she “never used to wear a hat in the sun”, but since learning some important information about the way the sun’s UV rays impact the collagen in skin – which helps to keep skin looking youthful and plump – she’s become an avid wearer of headgear.
Posting on her Instagram story, she wrote: “I never used to wear a hat in the sun but since learning we lose 1% of our collagen a year after the age of 23 suddenly, I love hats?? (sic)”
The message comes after Hailey revealed last month she “doesn’t always” wear sunscreen to protect herself from the sun, but will occasionally apply EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46.
At the time, she told her followers: “Can’t lie I don’t always wear SPF but when I do this is the only one that doesn’t make my skin breakout. I’m super sensitive to sunblock.”
Meanwhile, the blonde beauty – who is married to Justin Bieber – recently hit out at critics who insinuate she has had cosmetic surgery to alter her face shape.
She commented on a photo of herself which has since been deleted: “Stop using pics that are edited by makeup artists! This photo on the right is NOT what I look like … I’ve never touched my face so if you’re gonna sit around and compare me at 13, and then me at 23, at least use a natural photo that wasn’t edited so crazy. (sic)”
Hailey and Justin have even sent a cease and desist letter to Dr. Daniel Barrett, after the plastic surgeon made a TikTok video in which he suggested the model had gone under the knife to alter her appearance.
A section of the cease and desist letter reads: “These flagrant and conscious infringements of our Clients’ rights constitute a number of violations including, without limitation: misappropriation of name, likeness, image and persona for commercial purposes, misrepresentation, defamation, slander, false light, violation of rights of publicity, copyright infringement, trademark and service mark infringement, unfair competition, dilution, and interference with our Clients’ contractual obligations to third parties.”

Heidi Klum reveals her ‘greatest beauty discovery’

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Klum’s “greatest beauty discovery” is a tinted sunscreen.
The 46-year-old model has revealed she loves La Roche-Posay’s Tinted SPF50+, because she can wear it “everyday” to keep her skin safe from the sun’s UV rays without it being “too heavy”.
Answering a series of quick-fire questions for ELLE UK, she explained: “My greatest beauty discovery is La Roche-Posay Tinted SPF50+. It isn’t too heavy and is perfect for everyday wear.”
The ‘America’s Got Talent’ judge makes sure to keep her body healthy from the inside as well as the outside, and says drinking a smoothie every morning and taking supplements for her hair and nails helps to maintain her look.
She said: “I have a fresh smoothie every morning and take Perfectil Skin, Hair, Nails supplements for a boost.”
When it comes to her makeup routine, Heidi likes to keep it simple, and says her everyday look takes around 15 minutes to complete.
She added: “My make-up routine takes 15 minutes. I start with foundation – I love Charlotte Tilbury – then curl my lashes and apply L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara. To finish, I smudge Glossier Cloud Paint on my cheeks and fix my brows with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel.”
And Heidi also revealed she uses Johnson’s baby shampoo to clean her face instead of using soap or facial washes, because the formula used in the shampoo is “super gentle” on skin.
When asked what her last beauty purchase was, she said: “Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. I use it to wash my face, as it’s super gentle but effective.”
Meanwhile, Heidi previously sang the praises of Johnson’s baby shampoo when she said the product was the “most gentle thing” people can use on their face.
Confessing her number one beauty tip, she said earlier this year: “To use baby shampoo as a face wash – I believe it is the most gentle thing for your face and it removes everything.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell is the first global face of Pat McGrath Labs.
The iconic supermodel has teamed up with the cosmetics brand to become their first-ever global ambassador, and has said it’s an “absolute honour” to be chosen for the inaugural role.
She said in a statement: “It’s an absolute honour to be the new and first official face of Pat McGrath Labs. Pat is my chosen family and an undeniable creative force in the beauty business who has been in my life since the early stages of my career. Pat has created a line that brings fantasy and glamour back into our daily lives and makes us dream again! There is no one else I’d rather embark on this journey with other than the iconic Pat McGrath.”
Naomi, 50, has been working with Pat McGrath for over two decades since they met on the set of an i-D photoshoot with Kate Moss in 1994, and have combined creative forces in a number of projects from international runways to fashion editorials.
And the beauty says the pair had an instant connection.
She told Vogue.com: “I knew right away that I loved her personality. But I also felt safe – she’s very maternal and makes you feel comfortable right away – and confident that she knew what she was doing. I was so happy to work with a makeup artist of colour because there weren’t many at the time. Moving forward, I wanted to work with her on everything I possibly could.”
Pat, also 50, is equally as pleased to unveil Naomi as the first face of her brand, as she praised the model’s “unparalleled work ethic and sublime soul”.
In her own statement, the makeup artist said: “I am thrilled that my sister Naomi Campbell is our first official face. Naomi’s beauty is without compare, but what truly makes her special, and the ultimate McGrath Muse, is her legendary loyalty, unparalleled work ethic and sublime soul.
“It is an understatement to say that I consider myself blessed to call her a friend. To be a part of her luminous legacy as a trailblazer in the worlds of beauty and fashion, is truly an honour.”

Rita Ora ‘experimenting’ with makeup during coronavirus quarantine

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has been “experimenting” with makeup during quarantine.
The ‘Girls’ hitmaker is currently staying at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, and has said she’s been using her newly found free time to try out different looks that she would normally shy away from testing.
She said: “I’m experimenting with makeup. With all this spare time, I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with my face and different colours and shades.”
And to keep her body healthy from the inside, Rita is making sure she gets plenty of sleep now that she doesn’t have any work commitments to take up her time.
She added: “Catching up on restful sleep has been so important for me and my mental health. Let’s be honest, time is sort of nonexistent these days.
“When I wake up in the morning, I love to meditate. I find a really quiet spot in the house with a cushion and get my mind into a zen zone. For me, meditation really helps filter out the noise in my head and subsequently sets me up with calmness and mindfulness before the day begins! Then I usually work out, whether that is pilates or an intense Zoom workout with my trainer. Keeping fit, both physically and mentally, is super important to me, and I actually love working out so I never find it too much of a chore. But as you know, it’s all about the discipline and keeping at it.”
The 29-year-old singer is also making sure to take walks in the countryside as often as she can, so that she can get some fresh air.
Speaking to Vogue.com, she said: “I’ve been on some epic walks, breathing in the fresh air and just being totally at one with nature and animals.
“I love evening walks, especially if we’re lucky enough to get a clear day, and just watching the sunset is so magical and mesmerising. These little moments of reflection just make me realise what a beautiful planet we live on.”

Emily Ratajkowski to donate clothes to a women’s shelter through her Inamorata brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Ratajkowski is set to donate items from her Inamorata clothing line to a women’s shelter in Los Angeles.
The 28-year-old model and actress has announced she is partnering with the team at women’s shelter Alexandria House to donate clothing from her Inamorata brand – which launched in 2017 as a swimwear line, and has since expanded to include underwear and clothing – to women at the shelter, to help them recover from a fire which occurred in March.
Explaining her charitable deed to her followers on Instagram, Emily said: “So Inamorata Woman is owned and operated entirely by women and we’re always looking to partner with non-profits or organisations that support women and female-identifying individuals.
“That’s how I got introduced to Alexandria House, which is an organisation here in Los Angeles. It’s been around since 1996, and they help women and children who are experiencing homelessness to provide temporary shelter while they find economic stability and permanent housing.
“On March 19th, they experienced a fire, five families lost everything, luckily, no one was hurt, but they really need donations of basics right now.”
The ‘Gone Girl’ star said Inamorata will be donating pieces to the shelter for every order placed on the website, and also urged her fans to donate any unused or brand-new personal items of clothing to the organisation using a link on her page.

Alexa Chung is the brand ambassador for CODE8

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung is the first-ever brand ambassador for CODE8.
The 36-year-old model and fashion designer has teamed up with the luxury makeup brand – which launched just over a year ago – to become the inaugural face and ambassador for the line, which she praised as having a “simple” approach to style.
In a statement, she said: “Makeup for me is about accentuating and enhancing your features rather than masking or reinventing them and that’s why I love the campaign imagery so much. It’s serious makeup for people who don’t take makeup too seriously.
“As much as I enjoy putting on a cat eye or a bold lip, for the most part my approach to beauty is simple and devoid of products that seem intimidating to use and I think that’s mirrored in the ethos of CODE8.
“I am delighted to be partnering with CODE8 whose straightforward approach to beauty is so aligned with my own.”
Alexa and CODE8’s first partnership is the latest campaign, Beauty Decoded, which focuses on showcasing the singular and uncomplicated messaging of the makeup brand.
The brunette beauty loves CODE8’s product range, and praised the Radiate Beauty Balm BB cream for being a lightweight alternative to “thick” foundations.
Speaking to Vogue to celebrate her new role, she said: “I’m not good on proper foundation because it’s a bit thick, but there’s a BB cream that CODE8 does that’s really nice.”
And the model also praised the brand’s range of lipsticks, which have been curated to “suit different skin tones”.
She added: “Red goes with everything which is why it’s such a classic. I really love the red [shade] they do at the Miu Miu shows: the Miu Miu red lip. The women wear it in the shop as well, but no-one seems to agree on what it is and where it’s from. I’ve asked everyone – even Pat McGrath – but there’s no single, official lipstick. A red lip is iconic and something that looks good on everyone – and CODE8’s thing is that they’ve already made it to suit different skin tones via their Pop Art shade.”

CeeLo Green determined to shed ’30 to 40 pounds’ during coronavirus lockdown

OHMYGOSSIP — CeeLo Green wants to shed “30 to 40 pounds” while in quarantine.
The 44-year-old singer is currently staying at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, and has said he wants to use his free time to watch what he eats and stick to an exercise regime, so he can come out of quarantine several pounds “lighter” than when lockdown began.
He said: “I definitely try to be mindful of what I eat, especially with the support of my fiancée, Shani. In a perfect world, when I come out of quarantine, I would like to come out 30 to 40 pounds lighter.”
The ‘Forget You’ hitmaker is quarantining at his ranch in Georgia, and so he’s able to go for walks on his 10 acres of land without any risk of catching coronavirus from strangers.
He added to Page Six: “Fortunately for us … we live on a [Georgia] ranch that is about 10 acres. So we can go out and walk a mile and still be in the confines of the house. The first thing I wanted to do when I got money was to get a ranch.”
CeeLo previously spoke about his battle with his weight in 2016, when he admitted getting older had been the “reality check” he needed to start his weight loss journey.
He said at the time: “I’m in a healthy relationship and she has me more conscious of it. I’m getting older and you get that reality check. We have to sustain ourselves to be around for each other. I have people who depend on me.
“So I’ve been getting more home cooking, eating better and eating at decent times. A lot of times people associate overweight with overeating, but I don’t eat enough sometimes. I might be in the studio for 12 hours and not eat or eat at midnight, you know what I’m saying? TV does add on a few pounds. When people meet me in person, they see that I’m a lot more solid.”

Rylan Clark-Neal: ‘People should be honest about cosmetic procedures’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark-Neal thinks people should be honest about their cosmetic procedures.
The 31-year-old TV presenter has been open about having lip fillers and Botox in the past and he gets frustrated when fellow celebrities lie about their own cosmetic work.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, Rylan said: “When you’re in the public eye I think you should be honest about what [cosmetic work] you’ve had done. I’ll never be happy with the way that I look but if I’m in a position to change it, why shouldn’t I?
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, as long as you’re doing it safely – not all this ‘backstreet Botox’. But stop lying and saying: ‘Oh, it’s just my moisturiser’. B*****ks! We all know you’ve had two facelifts.”
Rylan – who has admitted to having “bits and bobs” of cosmetic procedures done in the past – famously spent £25,000 on veneers for this teeth in 2013.
And he revealed that they were both a blessing and a curse, when it came to his TV presenting.
He explained: “These teeth were the best and worst decision of my life. For the first three months of ‘Big Brother’ I was a terrible TV presenter. But everyone was talking about the teeth.
“By the time they’d stopped talking about the teeth I was good at my job. I literally learnt on the job.”
However, despite his procedures, he says he will never be confident about his looks.
Rylan said: “I’ve had bits and bobs done over the years. If you’re unhappy with something and in a position to change it, then why not?
“Look at Katie Price! She’s had about a million boob jobs and nobody should judge her for that.
“I’ll never feel confident about the way I look, but I’ve come to terms with that.”

‘He could have decimated my reputation in fashion’: André Leon Talley’s fear of Karl Lagerfeld

OHMYGOSSIP — André Leon Talley was terrified of Karl Lagerfeld.
The former US Vogue editor-at-large gives a less than flattering portrayal of the late legendary Chanel creative director in his new book ‘The Chiffon Trenches’ but says he never would have spoken out if Karl – who passed away last year – was still alive.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, he said: “I would never have talked about this while Karl was alive, out of respect for him and fear of his reprisals.
“He could have decimated my reputation in fashion.”
While some of André’s fashion friends have remained loyal since he stepped back from his role at Vogue, he says designer Miuccia Prada has “dropped” him.
He explained: “I do think I’ve been dropped by Miuccia Prada. That is a big surprise. I have eight crocodile coats custom-made for me by her, but she has not kept in touch. And that hurts me.”
And André, 71, also uses the book to speak about how his former friend and colleague, US Vogue editor Anna Wintour, “disregarded” his work.
He said: “The first thing I want to say about my book is this. This work, my epistle, is about not only my contribution to the world, but how did my presence change that world? And how was my work regarded and disregarded by Anna Wintour? I am 71 years old and I take my story with me wherever I go. The past is always in the present. This is not a bitchy tell-all.”
Anna and André fell out in 2018 when she replaced him with a YouTube star for the red carpet interviews at the Met Gala and he is still hurt about the snub today.
He said: “If Anna had called and said, ‘André, we’re thinking of going in a different direction [for the Met ball], it’s important for our brand,’ I would have said, ‘Fine. That’s great.’ And I’d have come in my Tom Ford cape – I always wear Tom Ford – and enjoyed my dinner.
“It felt like I was just thrown under the bus. It hurt!”

Dolce and Gabbana: ‘Closing boutiques felt like a total disaster’

OHMYGOSSIP — Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce say closing their boutiques “felt like a total disaster”.
The design duo were initially in shock over the Covid-19 pandemic and feared for their business but they have since rallied and believe that the global health crisis has helped them to go back to their roots.
Gabbana told The Daily Telegraph newspaper: “When we closed the doors on our boutiques, our first reaction was shock. It felt like a total disaster.
“In a strange way, this has made us think more like humans again, and less like designers. In some ways it’s like when we first started this company more than 30 years ago. We did everything ourselves then, including cleaning the offices.”
And the pair are trying to look ahead, to imagine what the world will be like when people emerge from lockdown in the coming months, and to design their clothing accordingly.
Gabbana said: “You can’t just make fashion for fashion’s sake. We’re now constantly asking ourselves what social life will look like in the coming months. If you can’t go to a big party, and supper in a restaurant means a plastic screen between you and the next table, you don’t need to wear something flamboyant.”
The designers are also conscious about protecting their staff, explaining: “We have to focus on protecting livelihoods as much as possible. We keep on working, and because we’re Catholics, praying to God, crossing our fingers and trusting in the power of creativity.”
