Charlotte Tilbury’s 1bn empire

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Tilbury has sold her make-up company to Puig.
The Spanish fashion and fragrances business has bought a majority share in the cosmetics company – which make-up artist Tilbury founded seven years ago – but she retains a significant stake and will continue to act as chair, president and chief creative officer.
Demetra Pinsent will remain its chief executive officer.
Puig – which also owns Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier and Nina Ricci – fought off competition from Unilever, L’Oréal and Shiseido Corporation to buy the controlling share in the company.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it is expected to value the company at more than £1 billion.
Charlotte said: “I’ve always dared to dream and create magic through beauty. I’m proud to be joining forces with Puig in a strategic partnership that will help us achieve our limitless ambitions. We’ve reached a pivotal point in our growth since launching seven years ago, and we’re looking forward to unlocking new opportunities with Puig, which is the perfect partner as we build an iconic brand to last.”
Marc Puig, chairman and chief executive officer, added: “We are beyond excited to partner with Charlotte and her team and support them in the next stage of developing the brand.”

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Next In Fashion’ has been axed by Netflix.
The show – hosted by Alexa Chung and Tan France – featured a group of designers competing to win a $250,000 cash prize and the chance to debut their collection on Net-a-Porter but Netflix has decided not to renew it for a second season.
Tan, 37, told Variety: “‘We’re not doing a second season. This is a one-season show, we don’t know what will happen in the future.
“But it was honestly one of the proudest things I’ve ever worked on. I love the show and Alexa so much.
“My focus is definitely on ‘Queer Eye’ and moving forward with that.”
The series debuted on the streaming platform in January and featured Elizabeth Stewart and Eva Chen as recurring guest judges.
South Korean designer Minju Kim was crowned the winner.
Meanwhile, Tan previously revealed everyone expects him to give them style advice, because of his work on make-over show ‘Queer Eye’.
When asked about his fashion dilemma, he replied: “Mine is this: everybody when they meet me now expects me to comment on their outfit.”
However, the fashion expert is too occupied with his own clothing ensemble to notice others around him.
He continued: “I don’t care what you’re wearing! I’m so consumed with WTF I’m wearing I didn’t even notice you had a head!”

Demi Jones: ‘There’s so much pressure to get surgery done’

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Jones feels under pressure to have cosmetic surgery.
The 21-year-old ‘Love Island’ star has collaborated with Project Lip on their three-step lip plumping kits and she revealed she jumped at the chance to work with the company as it’s a great alternative to getting fillers.
Speaking to MailOnline, Demi explained: “Project Lip is amazing, it’s vegan-friendly, cruelty free and the team have been lovely and so supportive. We’ve released four lip kits.
“I’ve never had filler before in my life, so this is really nice and a confidence-boost. I’m only 21 and there’s so much pressure to get surgery done, so this is a nice pick-me up.”
While Demi acknowledged that she feels under pressure about her looks, she insisted she is a “confident girl” who tries to embrace her curves.
She said: “I’m a pretty confident girl and I embrace my differences as a redhead, even before ‘Love Island’ I’ve never put a lot of pressure on myself. With the show, I wasn’t given a great deal of time [to prepare], maybe only six weeks.
“I’ve never done stupid diets or anything like that because I like my curves, that’s who I am. I don’t feel like I’ve had to conform to the pressures of young girls, but I am aware of it.
“I understand why others would want surgery, but it’s just not for me. I just like to be myself as much as possible.”

Chris Hemsworth’s workout routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Hemsworth is “an arms guy”.
Personal trainer Luke Zhocci has been working with Chris, 36, for over eight years and he revealed that the star prefers to bulk up rather than do cardio and he particularly loves working on his arms.
He told The Sun: “When it comes to the sort of workouts Chris likes the most – he loves functional movement stuff – sit throughs, body weight, pull ups, chin ups, bulking, but he really loves training arms, he’s a bit of an arms guy.
“When it comes to energy levels Chris eats pretty well and has a well balanced diet. On set he has a chef with him to plan his meals.
“On top of that motivation wise, he is pretty competitive.”
Luke and Chris have been close friends since primary school so Luke admitted motivating his pal can sometimes be tough.
He explained: “Because we’ve known each other such a long time sometimes it can be a disadvantage.
“If I yell at him it doesn’t work, sometimes I could ask him to do 10 pull ups and he might say he wants to skip that part or that he can’t be bothered.
“So I’ll just say ok, and then I’ll do them and then he ends up doing 15, but he’s not scared to say no.
“When you’re training for a purpose or a goal, doing these roles are motivators for him and it makes my job easier.”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s skin superpowder

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow starts off each day by drinking a skin superpowder.
The 47-year-old actress rarely wears make-up when she is not working and she takes antioxidants every day via a big glass of her GOOPGLOW superpowder, which she believes helps to keep her skin glowing.
Gwyneth told goop: “Every morning without fail, I take my GOOPGLOW. It’s packed with Vitamin C and E and coenzyme Q10. I always have one in the morning and then one in my water bottle when I’m working out.
“I think it makes a serious difference in my skin all day. It’s a power shot of vitamins for skin–just as you need a moisturiser, you need antioxidants.”
Meanwhile, Gwyneth’s make-up artist Lisa Aharon recently revealed the star is an extremely low-key client.
She said: “We usually do something just fresh and pretty, or we do something with a smoky eye. GP likes everything to be quick and no fuss. Whenever I can use a cream base, I do: Cream formulas keep the look simple and natural, for that beauty-from-within feeling.”
Speaking about using Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Hydrating Face Mist on Gwyneth, she added: “GP doesn’t really love being in the makeup chair, and starting with this face spritz changes everything. I discovered it at an In goop Health summit–it plumps and hydrates skin, and everything I put on next gets absorbed better, too.”
Gwyneth’s fuss-free beauty regime extends to at-home face masks and Lisa says she always notices a difference when Gwyneth has done her own treatments at home.
She said: “I always start with a lot of skin care. It makes all the difference. You can tell when she’s used the goop peel the night before. The glow is that noticeable.”

Billie Eilish: ‘I still have huge issues with my body’

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish has “huge issues” with her body.
Although the 18-year-old singer/songwriter is starting to gain body acceptance, she admitted that she is still not 100 per cent happy with it.
Speaking about the video interlude in her ‘Where Do We Go?’ tour – in which she strips down to her bra while standing in black liquid as it rises – she explained to Britain’s GQ magazine: “I definitely didn’t want it to come off as, ‘Oh, now I am 18 now I like my body.’ I still have huge issues with my own body.
“Sometimes I dress like a boy. Sometimes I dress like a swaggy girl. And sometimes I feel trapped by this persona that I have created, because sometimes I think people view me not as a woman.
“That tour video was about all that. It is me saying: look, there is a body underneath these clothes and you don’t get to see it. Isn’t that a shame? But my body is mine and yours is yours. Our own bodies are kind of the only real things which are truly ours. I get to see it and get to show it when I want to.”
In the voiceover for the video, Billie says: “The body I was born with, is it not what you wanted? If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a sl*t. If I wear more, if I wear less, who decides what that makes me? What that means? Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”

Alexa Chung: The coronavirus has ended fast fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung thinks the coronavirus pandemic has shown the “frivolity of fashion” and has encouraged sustainability.
The model believes the current health crisis – which has forced people to stay at home – has made fast fashion much less popular and she thinks this will only be good for the industry.
She said: “I’m bad at being a fashion oracle but I will give it a go … Everyone’s questioning the frivolity of fashion, the calendar, seasonal cycle, everything. That was already going on in the background anyway. We were trying to go on that conversation before and this pandemic sped up the idea that globalisation has resulted in so many crazy things.”
Whilst Alexa still wants people to care about fashion, she feels people will start “investing” their money into clothes now rather than buying more of the cheaper items.
She shared: “I have a fashion brand so I hope people will still enjoy dressing up. I think people will start investing quality products like that one cashmere jumper instead of three from a fast fashion label. Young people are now all about sustainability, calling out for brands to take more responsibility for how they produce and distribute.”
And the 36-year-old model praised the beauty industry for becoming “more inclusive and diverse”.
Speaking to Forbes magazine, she said: “What’s happened in the last few years is fantastic. Beauty industry has become more inclusive and diverse which means there are so much more iterations of how people express themselves through beauty looks. I don’t think beauty products will be eradicated but more that there will be an expansion within the industry so that there is not one ideal beauty face anymore.”

And the 48-year-old television presenter has also opened up about her beauty routine, including with her hair and her nails.
Speaking about her hair and nail routine, she told Stylist magazine: “I haven’t changed the way I wash my hair for about 100 years. The key is to foam up your shampoo. I trimmed them with clippers and tried to put on nail polish but it requires patience. I normally do my nails when the kids are at school and house is quiet and I’m sitting there with the radio on. But now, every time I’ve done it, I have to take something out of the oven. In fact, I’ve spent two hours trying to make the perfect cauliflower cheese – if anyone can get me on a Zoom call and explain how to avoid it getting slightly burnt and watery, I’d appreciate it!”
Meanwhile, Claudia previously confessed her biggest beauty secret is napping “every day”.
She said: “I sleep a lot. I have a nap every day. After the school run if I can, I will always get back into bed for a sleep, my family and I call it my morning meeting. About an hour, definitely 45 minutes – I had two yesterday!”

Speaking about her haircare and style routine, she added to Vogue magazine: “My hair definitely takes a beating for sure … There’s so many gorgeous ways to wrap your head … The thing I love the most is by the time I wrap it on my head, you have no idea what the colour is gonna be … It’s a beautiful expression. Even if I’m just gonna be able to walk around the block because I can’t go anywhere, I’m still gonna be shining.”
Meanwhile, Alicia previously confessed she finds going without make-up “really empowering”.
She said: “[It’s] really freeing. The thing is… it kinda came from because we put so many limitations on ourselves, we put limitations on each other, society puts limitations on us, and in a lot of ways, I’m sick of it, I’m over it. And that’s in a lot of ways, what the music is about, it’s about being our own unique selves, because we each have something that no one else has and it would be so amazing to embrace each other, how we are.”

Ashley Graham thought she had pre-natal depression

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham thought she was suffering pre-natal depression during her pregnancy.
The 32-year-old model – who gave birth to her son Isaac on January 18 – experienced dramatic mood swings during her pregnancy, but she’s subsequently realised it was “normal”.
Recalling her first pregnancy experience, Ashley said: “I was so excited. I knew immediately I was going to be a great mom.
“That was the wildest part. I thought, ‘What about the things I’ve told myself? What about the affirmations I’ve gone through?’ None of these mattered because my body was changing so rapidly. It really took me some time to figure it out mentally, because it was like there was an alien taking over my body.”
At the time, Ashley thought she had pre-natal depression – but she now believes that wasn’t the case.
She told Harper’s Bazaar UK magazine: “When you go from laughing to crying in 30 seconds, you do wonder if you are OK. Unbeknown to me, that’s pregnancy.
“One of the best things I did for myself was to make pregnant friends, and then I realised I wasn’t alone, I was normal, and that calmed me down. I started to enjoy being pregnant in my third trimester.”
Ashley gave birth at her home in Brooklyn, New York.
And her husband Justin Ervin was a helpless – and emotional – onlooker as they welcomed their first child into the world.
The brunette beauty recalled: “Justin wanted to be as helpful as possible, and the midwife told him: there’s nothing you can do, nothing.
“There’s a photo of him rubbing my arm as I’m hanging over the edge of the pool, gazing into the eyes of the midwife, who’s keeping me focused and helping me count.
“You can tell there’s a tear running down his face – it was agonising for him to see me in so much pain and not to be able to do anything about it.
“I was in the pool, and I looked over to see him in the kitchen cutting up meat and adding seasoning, because it was all he could do …”

Lily Aldridge is writing ‘gratitude lists’ amid lockdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Aldridge is writing “gratitude lists” amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The 34-year-old model has revealed she’s managed to pass the time during the pandemic by writing a new list every day at her home in Nashville, Tennessee.
In a video on her YouTube channel, Lily shared: “One of my favourite things to do every day is to do a gratitude list.
“I’ll usually do three to five things that I’m grateful for. It can be really simple things, it can be more serious things.
“When this was all starting and I was full of anxiety and worry, just writing down what I was grateful for instantly made me feel happier and also realise, ‘I’m O.K. right now, you don’t have to consume yourself with worry and stress.’
“Practising gratitude is something I’m really grateful for – you could keep a little gratitude journal next to your bed so it’s really easy.
“My sister also does gratitude lists but she does it with her friends. They do a gratitude text chain, which I really love, so it becomes more of a communal thing.”
Lily has kept in touch with her friends and family via video chats during the lockdown.
The model has also enjoyed the challenge of home-schooling her seven-year-old daughter Dixie, whom she has with her husband Caleb Followill.
Lily said: “She has definitely reminded me more than once that I’m not an actual teacher. ‘Cause I get really into it. When it’s the weekend, I’m like, ‘We don’t get to go to school.’ I really love it.”

Gigi Hadid feels ‘heartbroken’ by George Floyd’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Gigi Hadid feels “heartbroken” by the death of George Floyd.
The 25-year-old model has condemned police brutality in the US, where Floyd recently died on the streets of Minneapolis, leading Derek Chauvin, a former officer in the Minneapolis Police Department, to be charged with his murder.
Gigi wrote on her Instagram account: “Enraged. Sickened. Heartbroken. But never surprised. This happens way too often – and the videos that go viral are not isolated events. It seems that only when caught on camera are bigots & MURDERERS even getting “investigated” or fired .. unfortunately, the only way things will start changing is if all these racist, ignorant, monsters (badge &/or not) have to face the consequences- behind bars. (sic)”
Gigi thinks Americans must “do more” to tackle racism and police brutality.
The model – who has more than 54 million followers on Instagram – encouraged her fans to continue to demand justice in order to tackle inequality.
Gigi wrote: “feels more disheartening and nauseating because our cries for the Government and Americans to do better seem unheard; but even when we feel like what we do isn’t enough or can’t help, we have to do more. Keep signing petitions, making calls to demand justice, speaking out (this is not just if you have a big platform- it starts in your homes and communities), and fighting to make a difference for every life that has been wrongly taken or effected by THE PANDEMIC OF RACISM. THIS IS ABOUT BEING AGAINST EVERY SENSELESS ACT OF DISCRIMINATION THAT BURDENS THIS COUNTRY. (sic)”

Iskra Lawrence promises to protect daughter from racism

OHMYGOSSIP — Iskra Lawrence has promised to protect her daughter from racial discrimination.
The 29-year-old model – who gave birth on April 16 – has taken to Instagram to hit out at racism in light of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis last week.
Alongside a photograph of her daughter, Iskra wrote: “This is my beautiful innocent black baby.
“As your mother I will protect you in anyway I can. But I know that will never be enough. Your skin colour will impact your life in a way I will never be able to understand.”
In her post, Iskra identified as a “privileged” white woman whose life experiences are different to those of her boyfriend, songwriter Philip Payne.
Her post continued: “Your father @philipapayne will have to teach you things as a privileged white child I never had to learn. Your friends will need to be allies and speak up for you at times when simply being you could get you hurt or killed. Now it’s on all of us to educate ourselves. Ive asked far too many questions to my black loved ones when they are already exhausted and grieving for their community.
“It’s not on them to educate us privileged folk. We need to do our own research into the deep rooted history of racism. Ask ourselves questions like why we are shown the graphic videos of black people being murdered on the news yet you’ll never see a video of a white person being murdered? (sic)”
Iskra also called on her Instagram followers to join the fight against racism.
She said: “Signing petitions, donating and calling to support is the least we can do.
“Let’s have the discussions with our families, campaign to get police reform and continue to learn more so we can combat systemic racism everyday.
“We must use our white privilege to do better in memory of all those who’ve had their lives ended, futures taken and have to fight discrimination every single day… (sic)”
