Victoria Beckham ‘obsessed’ with new beauty product

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham is “obsessed” with her Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser.
The 46-year-old entrepreneur loves her Victoria Beckham Beauty brand’s moisturiser, which she says has given her a “golden glow” in lockdown.
Taking to Instagram, she shared: “So this is my new shade of Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturiser. It has a golden tint to it which is so great, it does give the most amazing shine and glow on your face. At the moment I have spent more time in the sun, my skin is a little bit more tanned and I just love how it feels on the skin, I am obsessed with the golden glow. It’s everything, my favourite product.”
Meanwhile, Victoria previously confessed she wore fitted dresses to cope with her “insecurities”.
The fashion designer said: “When I was in the Spice Girls there were stylists who dressed the group, but in my personal life I have never worked with a stylist. I used to wear lots of structured dresses with corsetry, and I do still have some of those dresses, but my personal style has become more relaxed. Looking back, I guess it was a sign of insecurity that I would always wear clothes that were very tight, very fitted.”
And Victoria admits her style changed the busier she got.
She added: “As the business took off and I got busier, my style changed, because I just can’t run around the studio doing everything in high heels. I’m juggling a lot: being a mum, being a wife, being in the studio every day. I remember one time at a show in New York where I wore a pair of masculine trousers and trainers, and everyone went crazy, ‘Oh my God, she’s wearing trainers!’ My confidence has definitely grown as I’ve got older. I know what works on me, what looks good, what makes me feel confident and comfortable. I don’t feel I have anything to prove now in the way I dress.”

Beverly Johnson slams fashion industry’s treatment of black people

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverly Johnson says the fashion industry has been “slow” to include black people.
The model was the first black person to adorn the cover of Vogue when she posed for the shoot in 1974 and with the current Black Lives Matter movement, she feels more should be done to include black people in the industry.
In an op-ed for the Washington Post, she wrote: “I was meant to usher in a current of change in the fashion industry. But as the national conversation around racism expands, stories about discrimination in the fashion industry and at Vogue, in particular, have come under the spotlight. The industry was slow to include other black people in other aspects of the fashion and beauty industry. Silence on race was then – and still is – the cost of admission to the fashion industry’s top echelons.”
And whilst the 67-year-old model has seen progress, she feels things still need to continue to change to make the industry more inclusive as a whole.
She added: “In 2018, Beyoncé advocated for Tyler Mitchell, a black photographer, to shoot her September Vogue cover – making him the first black photographer to shoot a Vogue cover in its 125-year history. But Mitchell’s cover was a one-off, not a spark. Since then, there have been no black photographers who have shot a Vogue cover.”
Beverly has vowed to continue fighting “racism and exclusion” in the fashion and beauty industry.
In her opinion piece, she shared: “I hope to continue fighting the racism and exclusion that have been an ugly part of the beauty business for far too long.”

Cara Delevingne finds happiness in ‘doing things for others’

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne finds happiness in doing things for other people “every single day”.
The 27-year-old star believes recent events, like the coronavirus pandemic, have served to underline the importance of being loving and thoughtful.
She shared: “Love is not a construct. It’s a constant. It’s something that we have to work on every single day.
“For me, every day, especially during this time, it’s been about doing things for myself, and then also for others every single day, which make me happy.”
Despite ongoing challenges, Cara also believes it’s important to remain optimistic.
The model-turned-actress – who is openly pansexual – said: “Love is such an important message. It always is, but especially with Pride and especially with what’s going on in the world.
“It’s about self-love and being able to be comfortable with caring for yourself in a different way, and also spreading love, spreading support, and staying optimistic.”
Cara also feels that, in light of recent events, “Pride shouldn’t just be about the LGBTQ community”.
She told Advocate.com: “It should be about everyone coming together and really supporting each other.”
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift recently hailed Cara as a “deeply loyal” friend.
The chart-topping music star described Cara as “eccentric, hilarious, and loving”.
Taylor added: “She’s an explorer by nature and is always on the hunt for the next adventure, which makes it a wild ride being her friend. You legitimately never know where the night will take you when she’s around.
“But while she’s spirited and outgoing, she’s also the person you’ll find in the corner of a party talking to someone she’s just met for hours, just because they’re going through a rough time.
“She’s deeply curious about others and profoundly sensitive. It’s that mixture of curiosity and sensitivity that I think makes her such a natural at becoming someone else on camera.”

Victoria Beckham ‘loans £6.4m to save fashion business’

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham is reportedly poised to take a £6.4 million loan to save her fashion business.
The singer-turned-designer has been offered the loan after her company, Victoria Beckham Ltd, made significant losses over a four-year period.
The loan will ensure Victoria retains control of the company.
However, if Luxembourg-based London Investments Sarl is not repaid its money, the cash could be converted into shares in Victoria Beckham Ltd.
A financial expert told The Sun newspaper: “Posh wouldn’t want to relinquish any more control in a business which is formed in her name.
“Yet desperate times require desperate measures. The move will secure a much-needed cash injection – and after racking up record losses last year of some £12 million they can’t afford not to do something radical.”
In 2017, London Investments put £30 million into the company for a 28 percent share of the business.
The injection of money and plans to restructure the business were revealed earlier this week in new records.
Meanwhile, Victoria recently admitted wearing fitted dresses during the early years of her career was a “sign of insecurity”.
The 46-year-old fashion designer now recognises her style was geared towards helping to deal with her own insecurities.
Asked whether she ever felt confused about her personal style, Victoria said: “No, not really. When I was in the Spice Girls there were stylists who dressed the group, but in my personal life I have never worked with a stylist.
“I used to wear lots of structured dresses with corsetry, and I do still have some of those dresses, but my personal style has become more relaxed.

Beverly Johnson claims the fashion industry has ‘no diversity’

OHMYGOSSIP — Beverly Johnson thinks there’s “no diversity in the upper echelon” of the fashion industry.
The 67-year-old model – who recently penned an op-ed about racism for the Washington Post newspaper – has insisted that the fight against racism within the industry must come from the top down.
Beverly said on ‘Good Morning America’: “There is no diversity in the upper echelon. None. We don’t have a seat at the table. We have no representation in the fashion world.
“On the outside now, you’re seeing Black models and you think we’re getting somewhere. But basically, the economics of the business, we are not participating financially.”
In her recent op-ed, Beverly claimed the fashion business has been “slow” to include black people.
The model was the first black person to adorn the cover of Vogue when she posed for the shoot in 1974 and amid talk of the Black Lives Matter movement, she feels more should be done to include black people in the industry.
Beverly wrote: “I was meant to usher in a current of change in the fashion industry. But as the national conversation around racism expands, stories about discrimination in the fashion industry and at Vogue, in particular, have come under the spotlight.
“The industry was slow to include other black people in other aspects of the fashion and beauty industry. Silence on race was then – and still is – the cost of admission to the fashion industry’s top echelons.”

Cara Delevingne launches Dior’s Rose des Vents collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne has launched Dior’s new Rose des Vents jewellery collection.
The 27-year-old star fronts a campaign for the new jewellery collection from the luxury goods company, with Cara bringing her unique style to the publicity shots and promotional video.
In the photographs, taken by Mario Sorrenti, Cara is seen sporting some of the new, decadent designs.
The London-born model – who has also enjoyed success in the movie business – is seen wearing a range of rubies, diamonds, rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets in the snaps.
The Rose des Vents collection is designed to be fun and glamorous, and is marketed as being perfect for any occasion.
Cara is one of the world’s most recognisable models, but she previously admitted to struggling with her own identity earlier in her career.
The ‘Suicide Squad’ star – who has taken a step back from modelling in recent years – shared: “I had no sense of who I was.
“I had no identity. All I had been was a mental illness, a child, a caretaker, or a supermodel, which just seemed so ridiculous to me.
“It was like my integrity, my morals, everything was rotting, like I just had nothing left, because I honestly was just selling myself. Because I wanted to belong, and I thought by people hiring me, that that was giving me a sense of who I was.”
Prior to that, Cara revealed she struggled to like herself during the early years of her modelling career.
She said: “Modelling fuelled this thing where pictures of me looking pretty were the only things I liked about myself.
“Take that away, and take the billboards away, and there was nothing left. It’s not that I thought I was pretty – the person on the billboard was pretty. It became a f***ed-up way to look at the world. I knew it wasn’t going to contribute to a healthy lifestyle and human interaction.”

Naomi Campbell’s beauty secrets

OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Campbell has shared her 10 minute beauty routine.
The 50-year-old model can speed through her daily skincare and make-up routine in just 10 minutes but admitted there are some areas she needs help with, such as eyebrows.
In a new Vogue Beauty Secrets video, Naomi shared that she always uses a microneedle roller all over her face.
She said: “I’m going to guide you through a quick skincare routine and a quick beauty look. I have to be a bit careful cause it’s very sharp and they’re extra long. Don’t go too close to under the eyes with this [microneedle roller].”
Naomi – who recently became the first global face of Pat McGrath Labs – also revealed she loves to experiment with make-up.
She said: “For me when I’m doing makeup, I’m playing at the same time. I’m trying new colours and trying something new each time. It’s kind of an experiment to see how it turns out.”
However, the stunning supermodel is not confident when it comes to doing her own eyebrows.
She said: “I’m really bad at eyebrows. If you get it wrong it can be a disaster for your whole face. So I’m not going to touch my eyebrows. I’m just going to brush them and leave them because I know I will make a mess!”
And Naomi explained that her best skincare tip came from her mother Valerie.
She explained: “My mother always told me I had to moisturise my face and body. I used to use my mother’s products when I was a child. But it’s something in my family, that the women [would take] care of their skin and kept it hydrated.”

Karrueche Tran’s daily meditation

OHMYGOSSIP — Karrueche Tran says meditation is helping her through lockdown.
The 32-year-old model has been looking after her “mental happiness” during the Covid-19 pandemic and cites meditation as the key to helping her to cope during quarantine.
She told US Vogue: “I’m a big fan of meditation and making sure I take the time to focus on myself and my mental happiness. I’ve been setting the vibe and clearing my mind with Taylor Candle Co. ‘Black Raspberry’ candles, a small Black-owned candle company I recently came across and love!”
Karrueche also revealed that music has been a huge help during the pandemic.
She explained: “I’m currently listening to this Nina Simone playlist called ‘Nina & Her Revolution’. I normally love listening to different types of music based on my current activity. So I have a playlist for the car, when I’m cleaning the house, and even cooking. But lately, I haven’t really been able to enjoy any other styles of music. Nina Simone’s music is just so soulful and speaks volumes, especially with the current climate of what’s happening in our country right now.”
Meanwhile, Karrueche recently revealed she has been avoiding social media and enjoying yoga.
She told Teen Vogue: “I’ve been keeping a daily morning routine of yoga and meditation.
“Sometimes I find myself feeling anxious, overthinking about what’s happening in our world so I’ve also been working on my breathing and mindfulness. I’ve been trying to stay off of my phone as much as possible. It’s like second nature for me to just grab my phone and start scrolling and it has got to stop! Too much social media will fry my brain.”

Michael Kors won’t be at New York Fashion Week

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Kors will not take part in New York Fashion Week this year.
The 60-year-old designer and his eponymously titled fashion brand – which is best known for making handbags and accessories – revealed over the weekend that he will not be showcasing his latest collection at the upcoming fashion extravaganza in New York, which was due to take place in September this year.
Instead, Kors will be hosting a presentation between October and November to debut his new range for Spring 2021.
The designer said in a statement: “I have for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change. It’s exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community about the calendar – from Giorgio Armani to Dries Van Noten to Gucci to YSL to major retailers around the globe – about ways in which we can slow down the process and improve the way we work. We’ve all had time to reflect and analyse things, and I think many agree that it’s time for a new approach for a new era.”
Kors’ announcement follows the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has forced many events in the fashion calendar – including the CFDA Awards, Paris Haute Couture Week, and the New York Fashion Week Resort – to be postponed or cancelled.
He added: “It is imperative that we give the consumer time to absorb the fall deliveries, which will just be arriving in September, and not confuse them with an overabundance of additional ideas, new seasons, products, and images.”
Moving the date of his collection’s debut by over a month will collapse the time between the Kors’ spring show and its delivery, but it won’t qualify as a see-now-buy-now show, which some of his fellow designers are advocating for.
He explained: “Prior to the late 1990s, the New York spring collections were shown from late October to the beginning of November, after the Paris collections. That calendar was in place for many decades and worked quite smoothly, and particularly in this age with the speed of social media, showing the collection closer to when it will be delivered makes logical sense to me.”
As of the time of writing, Kors has not confirmed the exact dates for his own presentation, but New York Fashion Week is due to take place between September 11 and 16.

Ruby Rose: Don’t shave your head without supervision!

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Rose wouldn’t recommend shaving your head without “adult supervision”.
The 34-year-old actress recently made the drastic change to sporting a buzz cut – which she split dyed half blue and half pink – but has said she wouldn’t encourage others to do the same unless they have a friend or family member present, because she ended up with “a few clumps missing” from her own cut.
She said: “I first shaved it, then split dyed it blue and pink, then I decided to bleach it again, which was ambitious and I don’t recommend doing it without ‘adult supervision’. So I ended up with a few, um, clumps missing.”
To take care of her hair, the former ‘Batwoman’ star has been using products from her pal Riawna Capri’s hair brand In Common, as she said the range helps to add “more moisture” to her locks following the bleaching process.
And Ruby also adds in Mended Sea and Magic Myst to make her hair “1,000 times happier”.
Speaking to Vogue.com, she added: “I have been taking care of my hair with my friend Riawna Capri’s hair brand In Common. I used to just use a shampoo and conditioner, In Common’s Clear Haze and Velvet Cloud, but ever since bleaching, my hair needed more moisture. So I started using the full In Common system by adding in Mended Sea and Magic Myst to the mix and my hair got 1,000 times happier. Then, of course, I shaved it again, but still.”
Since dying her hair, Ruby has since shaved it again to sport her natural brown roots, and has had a heart shape design shaved into the back of her head.

Charlotte Tilbury launching Magic Cream Light

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Tilbury is launching a light version of her iconic Magic Cream.
The 47-year-old make-up artist first launched the cream back in 2014, and has seen the product become a cult-classic in the beauty world thanks to its intensely hydrating formulation, with the likes of Amal Clooney, Emma Roberts, and Gigi Hadid counting themselves as fans.
And now, Charlotte and her eponymously titled beauty brand have announced the launch of a new lighter version of the cream, which is perfect for the summer months when products can feel too heavy and thick on the skin.
The Magic Cream Light – which launches on Tuesday (16.06.20), and will cost $100 – features a light textured lotion-like formula that makes it ideal for warmer weather, and comes complete with SPF 20 to protect the skin against the harmful effects of the sun.
In a statement to MailOnline, Charlotte said: “When I travelled to Asia, so many women and men told me that they ADORED Magic Cream for winter but needed a fluid-like moisturiser for humid conditions, sweat-inducing summer weather and oil-prone skin.
“My NEW! MAGIC CREAM LIGHT gives you fresh, hydrated, shielded MAGIC SKIN for every skin type, everywhere!”
The Magic Cream Light will still give fans the same clinically proven results in hydration as the original Magic Cream, but in a lighter formula to help combat the added threat of sweat and oil during the summer.
The launch of the product comes as Charlotte recently closed a deal to sell her makeup empire to Spanish fashion and fragrances business Puig, but she retains a significant stake and continues to act as chair, president and chief creative officer.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it is expected to value the company at more than $1.5 billion.
Charlotte said: “I’ve always dared to dream and create magic through beauty. I’m proud to be joining forces with Puig in a strategic partnership that will help us achieve our limitless ambitions. We’ve reached a pivotal point in our growth since launching seven years ago, and we’re looking forward to unlocking new opportunities with Puig, which is the perfect partner as we build an iconic brand to last.”

Cardi B uses mayonnaise on her hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B puts mayonnaise on her hair.
The ‘I Like It’ hitmaker has revealed her secret to smooth and shiny locks, which involves creating an at-home hair mask consisting of cupboard staples such as mayonnaise and olive oil.
In a video on her Instagram Story, Cardi could be seen applying the homemade mask to her 23-month-old daughter Kulture’s curls, as she revealed she also uses the mixture to keep her own hair “really hydrated”.
She said: “This is a hair mask that I am doing for Kulture. I just finished putting argan oil, and I’m gonna put mayonnaise, castor oil, and olive oil. I know it’s a lot of oil, but my baby’s hair needs to be really hydrated like mine.”
The 27-year-old rapper then added bananas and eggs to the mask, which are common in DIY hair masks as they contain nourishing properties.
She added: “This treatment is really good for curl patterns. It’s just a good hair mask to help your hair grow. All the good things you put in your body, you put in your hair.”
And Cardi later showed off the “end results” of the homemade mixture, as she praised the concoction for helping aid hair growth.
She wrote: “The end results of all that s**t I put on my hair earlier. Treat your hair ladies. It helps with hair growth A LOT. (sic)”
Meanwhile, Cardi’s decision to use kitchen cupboard essentials for her hair mask comes as she previously bemoaned the rising costs of her beauty regime.
Speaking in 2018, she said: “Let me tell you mother*****s something, it’s getting more and more expensive – well, nah for real, it’s getting more expensive to maintain us women.
“You know this is not the early 2000s and s**t where you give a b***h $100 to get her mother******g hair done, nails done, her eyebrows done. Whatever.
“B****es want the gel set and some hos, like me – you know what I’m saying – want Swarovski crystals. So that about there is about $200 – the end nail. You know what I’m saying.
“And then the hair? We are not in the era where b*****s do the blow outs, you know what I’m saying, or the sew-ins and s**t. Nah, b*****s want the full lace wig. The wig is about $800, $500, it really depend where you get it from.
“This dye about, I say about $300-$200. $300. So, just on that at it’s $1,000! So … what’s good?”
