Princess Diana ‘most beautiful royal of all time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana is the “most beautiful royal of all time”, according to ancient Greece’s ‘Golden Ratio’ formula.
The late royal – who died in 1997 in a car accident in Paris, France – obtained the highest score when Harley Street surgeon Dr Julian De Silva ran the Golden Ratio analysis, which determines physical perfection by comparing features with a facial mapping technique.
He told the Daily Mail’s Femail: “Diana, [Duchess] Meghan and Kate [Duchess Catherine] are all very beautiful women.
“But when measured against the Greeks’ Golden Ratio of physical perfection, Princess Diana comes out on top.
“She was several points ahead of Meghan and Kate and just pipped the stunningly attractive Queen Rania [of Jordan] to the title of most beautiful royal of all time.”
The Golden Ratio relies on symmetry to determine beauty and when taking measurements, “the length of the ear must be equal to the length of the nose and the width of an eye should be equal to the distance between the eyes”.
Dr De Silva added: “Princess Diana was a very narrow winner – there was less than 1 per cent between her score and those of Queen Rania of Jordan in second and Princess Grace who was a very close third.
“Diana scored highly for her face shape, the width of her nose, her brow area, her forehead and her eyebrows – which all got the top scores.
“Her lowest scores were for her chin and lips. Her lips are a little thin and ill-defined and her chin is less classical than some of the other women.”

Five ‘most beautiful’ Royal women – Data courtesy of the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery.
1. Princess Diana – 89.05 per cent
2. Queen Rania of Jordan – 88.9 per cent
3. Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco – 88.8 per cent
4. Duchess of Sussex – Meghan Markle – 87.4 per cent
5. Duchess of Cambridge – 86.8 per cent

Gwyneth Paltrow’s intermittent fasting

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow has turned to intermittent fasting during lockdown.
The 47-year-old actress has been quarantining at her home in Los Angeles with husband Brad Falchuk and her children Apple Moses Martin, from her first marriage to Chris Martin, and Gwyneth has been working hard to stay healthy during the Covid-19 pandemic.
She told goop: “Because I’m not traveling, it’s back to basics for the things that make me feel good: Ayurvedic eating for my dosha, intermittent fasting, and fresh, clean, nutrient-dense foods. I also gave myself a reset with Alejandro Junger’s CLEAN7. Pro tip: If you’re on a cleanse, take a date, split it in half, and spread almond butter on each side. If you’ve been cleansing, it tastes like a candy bar.”
Gwyneth has also been walking and doing yoga to keep fit.
She said: “As far as workouts go, I’ve been streaming Bulldog Yoga, CorePower Yoga, The Class by Taryn Toomey, and Tracy Anderson, and I’ve been going for walks every day or every other day with Brad to get fresh air and a little sunshine.”
Along with looking after her physical health, Gwyneth has also been focusing on her mental health.
She explained: “I’ve been exploring different breathing exercises to do, using apps like Headspace and The Breathing App, which I do for three minutes during the workday. It’s a short break that has a long-lasting impact.
“I’ve been trying to be more consistent about doing some wellness practices that work for me. I’ve made a commitment to start writing every day for five minutes because I’ve always been scared of journaling and don’t often write things down. It’s a daily micro mental challenge.”

Iris Apfel launching autobiographical colouring book

OHMYGOSSIP — Iris Apfel is launching an autobiographical colouring book.
The 98-year-old fashion icon was working on the project during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown and has now released the 16-page ‘Iris: The Coloring Book’, which shares highlights from her life and career.
She told WWD: “I hope people will understand that fashion is fun and colour is fun. Colour is very necessary in our cold, grey world, which gets colder and greyer every day it seems.”
Speaking about being a fashion icon, Iris said: “It’s very nice to be admired. My husband and I used to sit around and laugh because I’m not doing anything differently than I was 70 years ago, and to get all of this attention and fame at this stage of my life is kind of amusing.
“I like to amuse people and make them smile. I think it’s a civic duty. Too many people walk around today with sour faces and that’s not good in these times. We have to keep as pleasant and upbeat as we can.”
Meanwhile, the book has been launched in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin’s UT in NYC programme, which Iris launched 10 years ago and profits from the book will benefit the programme’s students.
Speaking about her role as a mentor, Iris said: “We spend a week where I take them to four or five top bananas in their various fields and they’re exposed to all of these different organisations and concepts and learn a great deal. It’s great fun for me because the school was kind enough to make me a professor, so I love the idea of kids running around saying, ‘Professor Apfel!'”

Edward Enninful racially profiled at Vogue House by security guard

OHMYGOSSIP — Edward Enninful was a victim of racial profiling at work.
The British Vogue Editor-in-Chief revealed on Wednesday (15.07.20) that he was denied entry to his office at Vogue House in London after a security guard failed to recognise him and directed him to enter the building via the loading bay.
Edward, 48, wrote on Instagram: “Today I was racially profiled by a security guard whilst entering my work place.
“As I entered, I was instructed to use the loading bay. Just because our timelines and weekends are returning to normal, we cannot let the world return to how it was. Change needs to happen now.”
Edward also revealed that the security guard was later fired by Vogue’s parent company Conde Nast.
He wrote: “Conde Nast moved quickly to dismiss the security guard, but it just goes to show that sometimes it doesn’t matter what you’ve achieved in the course of your life: the first thing that some people will judge you on is the colour of your skin.”
Edward’s close pal Naomi Campbell commented on his post and wrote: “When will this change ? Been happening in UK for so long .. so sorry you had to go through that !! Don’t let it deter you .Stay STRONG.”
Model Iman added: “Normal wasn’t working,” and Yara Shahidi said: “This is a Egregious! You’re absolutely right. The work and the fight continues.”
Fashion designer Marc Jacobs also showed his support, writing: “Normal wasn’t fair,” while Jameela Jamil commented: “Oh my GOD Edward. So sorry,” and Gemma Chan said: “There’s so much more work to do. Sorry this happened to you Edward.”

She wrote on Instagram: “A lot of people are asking me about my diet after Roman, but the answer is I’m not on one. I eat three balanced meals a day, lots of water when I breastfeed and a few snacks e.g. oat cookies, hummus, rice cakes, half an avocado.
“I do lots of walking and light exercises & stretches on @resultswithbump. And I’ve lost 4 stone! No fads, no slimming pills, no laxatives teas/ coffees and absolutely NO MEAL REPLACEMENT SHAKES!!! (sic)”

Una Healy wanted to be a make-up artist

OHMYGOSSIP — Una Healy considered a career as a make-up artist.
The 38-year-old singer used to do her own male-up when she was in The Saturdays and enjoyed it so much that she thought about turning to a full-time job in beauty.
Speaking on Instagram Live, she said: “When I was in the band we had to do our own make-up for quite a lot of gigs, so I got used to it over the years. I even thought about being a make-up artist at one point.
“I always put a little bit of make-up on every day and I was wearing less and less as lockdown went on, but I’ve missed doing the ‘going out’ make-up. I’m ready to come back again with the full glam!”
Meanwhile, Una previously revealed she loves experimenting with make-up but struggles to find a suitable foundation as she often switches between wearing fake tan and going natural.
She said: “I find it very very difficult to get a shade that’s right and because I go from fake tan to no tan, I’ve got a few dark shades and a few light ones and I mixed them depending on my tan level.
“I love Ingot, I got sent a goodie bag of stuff and it’s lovely. I love shimmer. They have a really nice foundation – the HD foundation, I got a couple of shades so I’ve been mixing them, and they are really nice.”
And Una is also passionate about her skin-care regime, explaining: “I like a foaming face wash and something to cleanse, once a week I exfoliate as well.
“I mix and match products, but a nice face wash, literally just Simple face wash or something like that, any of the plain ones are what I go for.”

Draper James named one of top Direct to Consumer brands

OHMYGOSSIP — Draper James has been named one of the top 25 Direct to Consumer brands in 2020.
The fashion label – founded by actress Reese Witherspoon – was cited by SimilarWeb as one of the companies that “demonstrate effective marketing strategies that look beyond the crisis and have the potential for long-term growth and profitability”.
Draper James placed sixth in the 2020 quarter two list, after Outer, Cubcoats, Hari Mari, Priority Bicycles and Youth to the People.
Jamie Drayton, lead financial services and e-commerce consultant at SimilarWeb, said: “Coronavirus continues to be a driving force in smaller brands’ ability to grow at the expense of established brands, but it is not the sole reason. To continue growing, d-t-c [direct to consumer] brands need to consider a wide range of variables, from developing personalised offerings to adopting a social justice stance, and more.”
Meanwhile, Reese, 44, previously revealed she created Draper James because she didn’t think the fashion industry was catering to southern style.
The actress’ clothing line has been immensely popular since she launched it in 2015, and the blonde beauty said she doesn’t understand why fashion only caters to those living in places like New York and LA, as there’s “incredible taste” to be found elsewhere.
She said: “I don’t know why New York and LA have become the places that dictate how everyone else is supposed to live. There’s this whole world in-between of people who love style and have incredible taste.
“We create things that remind us of our southern upbringings and want everything we put out there to bring you joy and be something you’ll have forever.”
Reese also previously insisted fashion doesn’t need to be “serious”, and said the garments people wear should not make them feel “bad” but should leave them feeling like they “belong”.
Speaking about the industry, she said: “For me, fashion doesn’t have to be serious.
“It doesn’t have to make you feel bad. People don’t have to be snotty and rude when you go into a store. There are a lot of places in this world where people feel like they don’t belong. I want people to feel like they belong.”

Gabrielle Union felt like a ‘fraud’ selling hair products

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle Union felt like a “fraud” selling hair products when she was struggling with hair loss.
The ‘Being Mary Jane’ star suffered with “massive” bald spots on her head due to “multiple rounds” of IVF over two years ago and she admits at the time, she felt wrong for launching her haircare company, Flawless by Gabrielle Union, so she had to use wigs and clip-in extensions.
She said: “I felt like such a fraud selling products. I literally didn’t have hair. But, our investors were pushing us to launch, so I was put in a position where I had to wear wigs and clip-ins. It felt so inauthentic to me. For all those women who’ve dealt with hair loss or balding, it’s debilitating and humiliating, and there’s a lot of shame involved.”
And the 47-year-old actress felt she needed to “humble” herself after the 2017 launch and is so “excited” about the upcoming relaunch, which debuts on August 3.
Speaking to People magazine, she added: “The prices were way too high, and the products were not available in all communities. We needed to lean into newer technology … We had to humble ourselves and say, ‘Are we doing okay? Yes. But this can be done better.’ …
“Now I have my hair back, and a line that’s accessible to our Black, textured audience. I think that we can see the massive difference with this relaunch. It’s so exciting.”
And Gabrielle admits the collection is “very important” to her.
She said: “This collection is very important to me because I fully encourage self-expression and authentic ownership of personal style. Wanting to try different hairstyles as a component of that shouldn’t mean compromising the health of your hair, nor breaking the bank with expensive products. We were dedicated to developing the perfect blend of high quality, affordable products for all types of textured hair to promote flawless beauty through choice and diversity.”

Serena Williams: My two-year-old dresses me

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams’ two-year-old daughter dresses her parents.
The tennis star has revealed her toddler daughter, Olympia, is a big fashionista and likes to help pick her parents’ outfits.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: “She dresses me and her father. She’ll set up before bed what we need to wear in the morning. And she says, ‘Blue shirt, blue shirt, blue shirt.’ And then she goes, ‘Mama wear this or these shoes.’ She always tells me to wear heels. She’s currently wearing heels.”
Meanwhile, Serena revealed her daughter already judges her fashion looks.
When asked if Olympia will wear anything from the line, Serena said: “Well, we got her a small version of our iconic heart. But other than that, no. They’re mine. Fall back, right now. Not yet. In due time.
“I do wonder what that’s going to be like when she’s a little bit older. I have no idea. We’ll see. I can’t wait. So far, she’s been wearing my heels, so I’m like, ‘She’s going to be in fashion!’ I could’ve sworn today, she looked at me, and she was like, ‘Gee, yeah.’ I was like, ‘You like what mommy’s wearing today?’ When I come out sometimes, she’s like, ‘Oohh! Ma!'”
And Serena’s style icon is Jennifer Lopez.
She said: “I think right now, you can’t think of style and not think of Jennifer Lopez. She’s just a little bit ridiculous and beyond amazing. She’s always been stylish. I mean, I can’t wait to be her age because I want to look like that.”
The 38-year-old tennis star has launched her S by Serena collection, which is showing during New York Fashion Week, and she is “obsessed” with it.
Speaking about her own collection, she added: “We’ve been working on this for a long time. So we’re ready, it feels good. We experimented with fabrics. There’s always evolving in the collection. I would say each collection is different. This one … we’re using different fabrics, we’re experimenting with vegan leather, we’re thinking about lots of more sustainability, and issues that’s really important to me. We’re still dabbling a little bit in sequins [and] we’re still experimenting with shoulder pads. I’m obviously obsessed with it.”

Kelly’s wardrobe demand

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Ripa joked she will only come back to ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ if she doesn’t have to wear “pants or bottoms”.
The television presenter has been broadcasting the show from her home since the coronavirus pandemic started and she quipped that if she does have to go back to the studio in September, she wants to be able to feel free.
Ryan said: “We started this in March, and one of the things that we love most is the interaction that we get to have. We have plenty of conversations just before the show, and of course we have conversations on the show. And as of now they’re telling us September, that we’d be back in the studio in some way in person.”
Whilst she added on Jimmy Kimmel Live!: “I’m not coming back if I have to wear pants or bottoms of any kind. I like this from the waist up sort of thing that we’re doing. So I think we should build a studio that you can’t see what we’re wearing from the waist down. It’s the only way I’m coming back.”
Meanwhile, Kelly previously confessed she has been wearing “beach cover-ups” to cover her night clothes whilst filming her talk show from home.
She said: “I’m wearing a literal beach cover-up as clothes now. I just slip that over my nightgown. That’s what I’m doing.”
Kelly has been without a lot of her clothes, hair product and makeup because it has been left in the studio, which is closed amidst the lockdown.
She added: “I keep putting on my daughter’s self-tanner, thinking that will help. All of my clothes, all of my hair products, and all of my makeup is locked in the studio, which is closed because of everything that is going on.”

Cardi B’s daughter’s Birkin bag

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has defended Offset’s decision to give their two-year-old daughter a Birkin bag.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker – who has Kulture Kiari, two, with her rapper husband – has pushed back against their critics after her spouse gifted their daughter the expensive designer bag for her recent birthday.
Defending his decision, she shared on her Instagram stories: “I know when celebrities buy their kids jewellery and designer s***, people be like, ‘Kids don’t care about that, they only care about toys and candy.’ But the thing is, kids also go outside. Kids go to restaurants, kids go to fancy places. Celebrity kids, they go do red carpets. And if I’m fly, and daddy’s fly, then so is the kid. If I’m wearing Cha-nay-nay [Chanel], my kid’s having the same thing. It’s not up to what the kids like. If it was the kids, they’d be outside in diapers. No, cause if I was looking like a bad b*****, expensive b****, and I had my kid looking like a bum bum, then y’all would be talking s***. So, I’m not mad that daddy bought baby a Birkin. She’s gonna match mommy.”
Meanwhile, Cardi previously confessed she was an “emotional mess” thinking about her daughter’s birthday.
Ahead of the celebration, she wrote on Instagram at the time: “My baby turn 2 tomorrow. I been a emotional mess. Love her so much. (sic)”
And Cardi wants her daughter to “dream big” and ignore other people’s opinions as she gets older.
Asked what advice she’d have for her daughter, she added: “No matter what people say, dream big and follow it. I wish for her to be a successful business woman, independent woman, a confident woman.”

Lady Gaga is the face of Valentino’s new fragrance

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga is set to be the face of Valentino’s new Voce Viva fragrance.
The ‘Stupid Love’ hitmaker will front the campaign for the latest fragrance from the Italian fashion house, which is due to launch this Autumn.
Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli said in a statement: “Lady Gaga means freedom, self-consciousness, pure heart. Her participation in this campaign elevates the symbolic power of the project to the highest level. She is the icon of a generation. Her message of freedom, passion for art, self-consciousness and equality is the same our Valentino community stands for. I am so proud for having her in.”
The new scent was conceptualised by Piccioli and the Valentino Beauty Team at L’Oréal.
According to a press release, the fragrance was “imagined as a voice to spread a message around the world,” and “invites everyone to touch hearts, inspire others and live their dreams.”
The collaboration with Gaga comes after the 34-year-old singer insisted she wants to help young people to feel “beautiful” without needing to “be perfect in any type of physical way”.
Gaga is known for her unique fashion sense, and said her “definition of beauty” goes “against the grain”, as she also insisted anyone can be a “beautiful person” without conforming to conventional beauty standards.
She said: “Even though I might wear skimpy outfits sometimes and I’m sitting here with no pants on with my big shoes, my definition of beauty has always been very against the grain.
“I just dressed like how I felt like dressing today, how I wanted to do my hair, how I wanted my makeup to look.
“But I would never want to send a message to anyone, especially a young person, that you have to be perfect in any type of physical way in order to be a beautiful person.”
The ‘Sour Candy’ singer also said she doesn’t believe she found fame because she’s “pretty”, and encouraged people to let their talents and hard work do the talking rather than their looks.
She added: “I didn’t get here because I’m pretty. I’m not a supermodel. I make music and it’s that and my heart, and my brain that got me here, and a lot of hard work.”
