‘Oh my god, I’m a clown’: Rihanna reveals fears over Met Gala gown

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna felt like a “clown” in her yellow Met Gala dress.
The 32-year-old singer, fashion designer and beauty mogul wore the stunning Guo Pei designed gown to the annual event in 2015 and, although it remains as one of the most iconic outfits from the Met Ball, Rihanna admitted she initially thought the fur trim and huge train were too much.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, she explained: “That night, the choreography of getting in the car and getting out, like, we had to choreograph it. Who sits at the door? Where does the coat go? Where do I sit?
“I remember being so scared to get out of that car because I felt like, ‘I’m doing too much.’ I was driving past the red carpet, and I was just seeing, like, gowns, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m a clown. People are going to laugh at me. This is like, too much.’ I thought that. I circled like, three times, I’m not even joking. And finally, I was like, ‘Whatever, let’s go. Let’s just go. Let’s just go.’ I know. I don’t regret it.'”
Meanwhile, Rihanna has previously revealed that she likes to champion up and coming fashion designers but she looks for “originality”, creativity, perspective and an insight into their thought process, which is reflected onto their creations”, before she supports them and dons their clothes.
She said: “I look for originality. I look for a creative, clever perspective. I love that. I love just seeing the mind of someone reflected onto a piece of clothing. It says a lot about what’s going on in their minds.”

Rihanna’s inclusive skin-care

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna didn’t want anyone to “feel excluded” from her new skincare range.
The 32-year-old star features A$AP Rocky, Halima Aden, and Paloma Elsesser in the new campaign for Fenty Skin and she was adamant that her new product would be gender neutral.
Rihanna told US Vogue: “Skin is skin. Everybody has skin, and everybody should take care of it, so I never approached skincare or making this line from a gender standpoint. I didn’t want anyone to feel excluded or be excluded.
“Skin-care is self-care. I am trying to get people into a ritual. Something that’s really simple – three steps. We start there because skin care can get really complicated. It can get confusing, so I wanted to start with something that would be easy to understand so that people can get right to it.”
And Rihanna revealed that she has taken inspiration from Barbados, where she grew up, for the line, which features Barbados cherry, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide.
She said: “As an Island girl, I’ve had a lot of access to key ingredients that work really well for your skin. I might’ve just thought [of it as] a fruit I was eating, but these things that we have access to everyday implement great results on your skin. A lot of them are personal to me, but I know that these ingredients work, and so I try to pack as many of those into these products as much as possible.
“When I started to find out the benefits as I got older, I would go back home and I would literally just have a cold and the first thing that you’ll drink when you have a cold is a Barbados cherry juice, because it has so much Vitamin C in it, more than even an orange. I wanted to implement that into skincare because I know that Vitamin C is a key part of good skin.”

‘It helps my mental health and my anxiety’: Madelaine Petsch talks working out

OHMYGOSSIP — Madelaine Petsch works out for her mental health.
The ‘Riverdale’ actress insisted that her fitness routine has nothing to do with her weight or looking good but it is vital in helping to manage her anxiety.
Madelaine told WWD: “It’s about mind, body and soul. Working out plays a huge part in my mental and emotional health, as well as my physical health….As long as you feel good, that’s all that really matters to me. I’m not somebody who’s checking the scale every day or going to the gym to look different or be a smaller size. To me, it’s about the way that I feel about myself when I go and how it helps my mental health and my anxiety.”
The 25-year-old actress has collaborated with Fabletics on a new apparel line and revealed the company gave her creative control over the project.
She said: “[The Fabletics team was] so willing to work with me and let me be super hands on, because I’m kind of annoying when I design stuff. Sometimes when you work with companies, you never know if they’re going to expect me to just slap my name on something that they did. You never know when you walk into a brand deal. So I was really happy to hear that they wanted me to have as much input as I wanted, and I wanted all the input.”

Victoria Beckham axes jobs amid coronavirus crisis

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham has had to axe 20 members of staff from her fashion company.
The 46-year-old designer has seen her business suffer amid the coronavirus pandemic, having shut her flagship London store in March, and Victoria has now been forced to axe jobs as part of cost-cutting measures.
A business insider told The Sun newspaper: “Victoria is devastated.
“These are really tough times and no one is exempt from the pandemic’s clutches.
“This business is her pride and joy. It has never been about money. She hasn’t even paid herself for the past three years.
“She is doing all she can simply to keep as many people in work as possible.”
A spokeswoman for Victoria has also confirmed the job cuts.
She added: “We have built a new strategic vision to streamline and future-proof the brand and, sadly, have to make redundancies to deliver this.”
Victoria previously likened her time in the Spice Girls to her fashion business, saying she hopes to encourage people to “embrace who they are”.
Reflecting on her pop career, Victoria said: “I look back and smile about the Spice Girls now – I’m so proud of everything we achieved.
“It was about making people embrace who they are, being happy with who they are, being the best version of themselves and for that to be celebrated. And the fact that it was OK to be a little bit different – why conform, you know?
“Now, I would like to think that I’m doing that through beauty and fashion.”

Riccardo has recruited various people from within the Burberry label, including a retail worker, a digital designer, and a merchandiser. And they’ve all been photographed outside or near to their London homes.

Alexa Chung wants to raise awareness of endometriosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung wants to help raise awareness of endometriosis.
The 36-year-old model suffers from the disorder – which causes tissue to grow outside of the uterus – and is keen to make more people aware of the condition.
Alexa wrote on her Instagram account: “Endometriosis is a long-term condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes. It can be excruciating. The pain can effect your mental health, ability to work, relationships, your fertility, the list goes on. (sic)”
Alexa hopes she can help other women to recognise if they’re suffering with the condition.
She wrote: “I understand I had the privilege of being believed and listened to. On average it takes seven years to diagnose and it’s a disease that affects one in ten women. Anyway, maybe by raising some #endometriosisawareness I might be able to help someone recognise what they have sooner. (sic)”
Alexa also called for more research to be conducted into the disorder.
The model – who has four million followers on Instagram – said: “Also not funny but sort of is because if you don’t laugh you’ll cry, this is what the top google answer says: “It’s not clear what causes endometriosis. It may be linked to things like your genes or a problem with your immune system.” Maybe let’s get some research going into this women’s health issue so it can go from something “not clear” aka myssssttterrrrious to known about and treatable. 🙂 (sic)”

The 60-year-old designer previously announced he wouldn’t be showing at New York Fashion Week this year, but he’s now confirmed plans to stage a digital event in October.
He explained: “It is key for us to be able to bring our collection to life and translate that in-person runway show experience as best as possible to the digital world.

The world-famous designer has confirmed he will be presenting the collection to members of the press on October 14.
And then on October 15, he’ll be staging an event for the general public.
Kors previously called for a change to the fashion calendar, saying it’s “time for a new approach for a new era”.
The designer – whose brand is best known for making handbags and accessories – said earlier this year: “I have for a long time thought that the fashion calendar needs to change.
“It’s exciting for me to see the open dialogue within the fashion community about the calendar – from Giorgio Armani to Dries Van Noten to Gucci to YSL to major retailers around the globe – about ways in which we can slow down the process and improve the way we work.
“We’ve all had time to reflect and analyse things, and I think many agree that it’s time for a new approach for a new era.”

She said in a video posted to her Instagram Story: “This is supposed to go over each t****, but my boobs are too low. And yes, they are still huge. I think I honestly will do it again and have them make them smaller. I did not expect that they would still be this large.”

Heidi Klum: Beauty is common sense

OHMYGOSSIP — Heidi Klum says beauty “comes down to common sense”.
The supermodel feels that the “basics” – including eating well and drinking lots of water – are the “most important” when it comes to a successful beauty routine.
She said: “A lot of beauty comes down to common sense. I get bombarded with products from all over the world, and I love trying all of those different things, but for me, the basics are most important. When I eat well and keep hydrated I can see the difference in my face when I look in the mirror. You’ve got to look in the mirror and see if there is something up. That way, you know if you breakout it could be because of the garbage you ate. If you look dry and your skin doesn’t snap back, you’re not hydrated. If you just look at yourself and listen, you know what to do.”
And Heidi says one of her favourite beauty products is coconut oil, which can be bought in most supermarkets.
She added to Who What Wear: “I love using just plain, old coconut oil that you get in the supermarket. Especially in Los Angeles right now, everything is so dry and I’m outside a lot. I love to lather up some coconut oil in my hair and on my body too. It’s so inexpensive and it just makes everything feel so yummy and nourished. In general, I like going more towards the natural things instead of the sorts of products that are full of perfumes and astringents. I really love trying all of those things but very rarely do I actually stick with it. I’d rather use coconut oil.”

It will fix all your sunscreen problems. Here it is!’ It’s so easy, and I don’t have to touch my face. goop providing ‘tools’ to help people through lockdown

OHMYGOSSIP — goop has expanded to a “service brand” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The beauty and wellness website – founded by Gwyneth Paltrow – offers a podcast, live events, retail stores, a clothing label and more and, during the global health crisis, goop has been reaching out to its community to give them “tools” to help them through lockdown.
goop’s chief content officer Elise Loehnen told WWD: “Consumers are thinking about their role in an interconnected and interdependent system. What they’re putting on and in their bodies, how they can manage their relationship with stress…how can they not get sick and end up in a hospital?”
“We’ve been doing workshops, mini touch-bases with our community, morning routines, work-from-home guides – things that give people tools in the moment.”
Loehnen also revealed that goop’s customers are willing to splash out more money for better quality and understand that it is worth investing in themselves.
She explained: “The consumption patterns on goop [suggest] people are willing to buy fewer things that are better.
“As we’ve all been put at home with all our things, we are forced to evaluate our relationship to products in our lives – a lot of us are seeing that we need to divorce ourself from the myth that we can have good, fast and cheap simultaneously – it’s really a ‘you pick two’. Consumption patterns on goop [suggest] that people are willing to buy fewer things that are better. They are going to their closets, they are going to their cabinets, taking stock of all the choices they are taking on in their lives and wanting to do better.”

India Reynolds slams trolls who taunted Molly-Mae Hague

OHMYGOSSIP — India Reynolds has slammed trolls who criticised Molly-Mae Hague’s weight.
The 29-year-old beauty defended her ‘Love Island’ co-star after cruel online commentators accused her or photoshopping her pictures and taunted her about her body when she was photographed in a bikini on holiday with boyfriend Tommy Fury, 21.
India told MailOnline: “I feel sorry for Molly because if you ask me she looks great in the pictures.
“If I were sat down obviously I’m not going to look great but if I stand up in a long position or in a certain way you can make yourself look much better and that’s the picture you’re going to post on social media.
“She hasn’t done anything wrong. She has posted an image from a good angle and the photographers have got her at a different angle but she still looks great.
“Molly is young; at 21 you don’t need people saying horrible things about your body. I feel really, really sorry for her. She wasn’t expecting the photos to be taken; of course she looks different in a pose.”
And India admitted it has taken her a long time to accept her own body.
She explained: “When I first started out I always looked at skinnier models and wished I were a bit smaller.
“I have been on shoots before where other girls are tiny skinny and I’m never going to look like that, even if I didn’t eat for two months.
“For so many jobs they didn’t want you to have big boobs, I never disliked mine but from a work perspective they weren’t ideal.
“I’ve had times in my life where I’ve been training, training, and training and still not been happy with my body, it’s something you have to work on from the inside out.”
