Jane Fonda vows to lose weight before returning to Grace and Frankie

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Fonda intends to lose 10 pounds before she returns to filming on her TV show ‘Grace and Frankie’.
The 82-year-old actress and her castmates Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Brooklyn Decker all had to stop work on the seventh and final season of the Netflix series in March when the COVID-19 pandemic began to sweep across the globe in March.
Fonda has gained some weight since whilst isolating at home but she will make sure that she is back to her best shape when the cameras start rolling again.
In an interview with The New York Times, she said: “There was a time when I was anorexic, but I never got below 112 (pounds). I don’t let it get too far out of hand.
“I’m not at my fighting weight right now. I’m 127. My fighting weight is about 119. So, you know, when we get three weeks out from shooting ‘Grace and Frankie’, I’ll lose 10 pounds.”
The ‘Coming Home’ star was one of the pioneers of home workouts in the 1980s and her keep-fit videos and books sold by their millions across the world and she stays in great shape now with a personal trainer and following a healthy diet.
At the start of this year, Fonda decided to go grey and stop dying her hair blonde, and she admits the producers on ‘Grace and Frankie’ supported her decision.
She said: “I went grey at just the right moment. I didn’t know COVID was coming along. I got tired of the chemicals and the time and the money to keep myself this particular colour of blonde, you know – enough already! And so I talked to the producers of ‘Grace and Frankie’ and I said, ‘I want to go grey, but that would mean that Grace is going to have to go grey,’ and they were all for it.”

Nicolas Ghesquiere: Paris Fashion Week has to support smaller brands

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Ghesquiere has urged the organisers of Paris Fashion Week to support smaller brands.
The 49-year-old French designer – who is the creative director of Louis Vuitton – insists that in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic it’s time for the big fashion houses and the industry to help up-and-coming creatives and there would be no better way to start than by showcasing their creations at the event, which starts on September 28.
Speaking to Vogue.com, he said: “I really hope that Paris Fashion Week is not going to be only the big brands – this is the moment to support the smaller brands that make this wonderful world of fashion relevant. It’s not always easy in fashion.”
Ghesquiere says the pandemic has had a negative effect across the whole fashion world and now is the time for the major labels and brands to work with the smaller companies to ensure the industry bounces back and thrives.
He said: ” I think this moment is super important for unity; for supporting the labels that are having difficulties.
“The fact is that sometimes the perception of fashion was very exclusive, sometimes too exclusive. Sometimes fashion wasn’t always aware of who it was talking to. But the situation in the world has created a kind of acceleration – an emergency of what we knew we had to change and evolve.”

Tyra Banks felt ‘dumb’ during Fresh Prince of Bel-Air audition

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyra Banks felt “dumb” during her ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ audition.
The 46-year-old model starred in the iconic sitcom opposite Will Smith in the 90s, but Tyra has admitted she felt awkward when she first auditioned for the role of Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Ames.
She recalled: “I, like, put on, like, basketball shorts and, like, a big, huge T-shirt.
“You know, just kind of like a basketball girl. I walked in kind of around the way, no make-up.
“And then in the audition room, there’s, like, a line of chairs and there’s all of these actresses.
“And I swear everybody had on a little black dress and black heels and just looking gorgeous and face done, and I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re not supposed to dress like the character, you’re supposed to, like, be pretty and then they put the character on you later.’
“I was sitting there feeling so dumb.”
Despite her awkwardness, Tyra was invited back for another audition and after impressing Will, she was offered her first major acting role.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, she shared: “So then hours later [I] go back and then Will Smith is in the room.
“And I read with him, didn’t know what the hell I was doing. Just trying to read the thing and just be as natural as possible.”
Meanwhile, Tyra recently revealed she’s planning to make a “spoof of ‘America’s Next Top Model'”.
The TV star – who created the long-running series – has been busily working on making the “highly self-deprecating” show, as well as other TV projects.
She shared: “We have some huge game show ideas, as well as strong scripted content. There’s a project that’s actually a spoof of ‘America’s Next Top Model’, but it’s scripted and highly self-deprecating.
“People are like, ‘You’re okay to make fun of yourself like that?’ And I say, ‘That was a character.’ We have beautiful cartoon [ideas] because I see it as huge business. And we have a big project with my mom too.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Hadid posted a glowing tribute to Karl Lagerfeld on social media to mark the late designer’s birthday.
The 23-year-old model took to her Instagram account to hail the iconic star, who was born on September 10, 1933.
Alongside a series of images of herself and Lagerfeld, she wrote: “Happy Birthday Karlito. We miss you and we love you forever…. [love heart emoji] (sic)”
The legendary designer passed away at the age of 85 in January last year from complications of pancreatic cancer.
During his career, Lagerfeld served as the creative director of the French fashion house Chanel from 1983 until his death, while he was also the creative director of Fendi.
Bella’s Instagram tribute was posted shortly after it was announced that Kim Jones is set to replace Lagerfeld at Fendi.
The 47-year-old designer will be responsible for the brand’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections for women.
Jones will also retain his position at Dior Men’s, having taken on that role in June 2018.
Fendi’s chief executive, Serge Brunschwig, hailed the appointment, describing Jones as “one of the most talented and relevant designers of today”.
The London-born fashion designer is also looking forward to the challenge of his new role.

Iman calls for fashion industry to embrace ‘real change’

OHMYGOSSIP — Iman has called for “real change” in the fashion industry.
The 65-year-old model believes the industry needs to embrace diversity and has called for more “transparency” and “accountability” as a means of reaching that ambition.
Iman – who was born in Mogadishu, Somalia -said: “Personally, I think a real change happens by bringing people – people of black and brown – into the decision-making of fashion.
“That’s where real change happens, not just by saying, ‘OK, we will do this.’ And then there is no transparency, no accountability.”
Iman is also keen to be “part of that change” in the coming months and years.
She told WWD: “I want to say that the rage is justifiable. The anger is justifiable.
“But I don’t want us to use it to ruin our joy and our existence, and be stuck in a place of just being hurt. We want to be part of that change and change from within – not just having cosmetically changed.”
Meanwhile, Naomi Campbell previously claimed that minority groups need “to have our proper place” in the industry.
The 50-year-old model is eager to see significant changes at a boardroom level.
She said in July: “For me what Black Lives Matter stands for is so much more than police brutality, the reach is from here to the continent of Africa.
“It matters in the jobs that you get. We need to have our proper place and seat at the table of the boards. I’ve been saying that for a long time. It’s not just when things come up and you scramble and say, ‘Let’s get this person and that person.’ It shouldn’t be that way.
“I worked with Bethann Hardison on the Diversity Coalition, we did that to protect our girls in the industry of fashion. But why is it now that the jobs that do come up, it’s a ‘diversity role’?
“Because I also feel like they’re overqualified for that too. But then you also feel like if I don’t take that ‘diversity job’ – whatever title it is – then I’m not doing something for my people, so it’s a Catch-22 in a way.”

Rosalía named as MAC’s Viva Glam Ambassador

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosalía has been named as MAC Cosmetics latest Viva Glam Ambassador.
The 26-year-old singer-songwriter has joined the make-up company with the release of a new limited-edition Flamenco-inspired lipstick shade called VG26 to mark MAC’s 26th anniversary.
Rosalía said: “When I don’t have a lot of time, I always use red lip lipstick! Ruby Woo is one of my favourites so combine that with my VG26 shade and it matches perfectly with the tone of my skin and is a perfect combination! If I have time, I also fill in my brows.”
All the proceeds from the new lipstick will benefit the MAC Viva Glam Fund, which helps to support those affected by HIV or AIDS, as well as “healthy futures and equal rights for all.”
Rosalía joins the star-studded lineup of Viva Glam Ambassadors, starting with drag queen RuPaul in 1994 followed by Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Sia, Taraji P. Henson and Pamela Anderson.
Director of Make-up Artistry Baltasar González Pinel said in a statement: “The incredible charisma, energy and strength of Rosalía is the perfect incarnation of this vibrant, saturated red
“Taking its roots in flamenco, Rosalía’s art mixes genres and emotions – it takes risks, it is full of generosity, it is pure brilliance.”
The fund was launched during the height of the AIDS crisis, with 100 per cent of the proceeds donated to organisations that support charities working with people with AIDS.
Earlier this year, it was announced the fund will donate $10 million towards 250 organisations supporting those working on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic.
John Demsey, chairman of the MAC Viva Glam Fund and executive group president of The Estée Lauder Companies, said at the time: “VIVA GLAM has never been about one cause, but about support to vulnerable communities.
“It was created many years ago simply as a hardship fund for people who needed safety nets.”

Maya Jama to launch skincare brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama is set to launch her own skincare brand.
The 26-year-old television presenter recently trademarked a new business in a bid to sell a range of face masks she has been developing and is set to launch more cosmetic products, including serums and cleansers.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Maya is really into her beauty and takes good care of her skin. She struggled to find face masks that suited her so decided to work on her own.
“This is just the beginning, she’s got big dreams about releasing a range of products, including hydrating serums and face washes.”
Maya – who left her DJ job on BBC Radio 1 in May – is set to launch her new range in December to help fill stockings this Christmas.
The source continued: “She’s a hard worker and whatever she puts her mind to will normally come to fruition. It’s early days but Maya’s team think this could be massive for her.
“The plan is to launch just in time for Christmas. They’re working on the marketing now and it’ll be sent out to influencers too for a massive push on social media.”
Although Maya is confident to diversify her career, she recently admitted she is “nervous” about dating since her split from Stormzy in 2019.
The pair were in a relationship for four years and lived together, but Maya admitted the public interest in their romance has left her worried about embarking on a new romance.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “We met before it was in the public eye. It felt like a normal relationship, and then, ‘Oh s***, everybody’s talking about us!’ We did everything that normal couples do, it was [just] on a bigger scale. When we were together, we did make a point of not making it just about the relationship. We both had separate careers and tried to keep our work as separate as possible. I’ll always try and keep it that way. You do want to keep some stuff private because it’s your life.
“It makes me nervous [about] who I’m going to be with next, because if they aren’t in the public eye already, maybe they’re going to be brought into [it]. It’s made me extra careful. I was 20 when I got into that [with Stormzy]. Now life is different. Even social media is bigger. It’s going to be harder to keep things private but I’ll do my best.”

Selena Gomez was insecure about her looks

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez decided to launch her beauty brand after feeling “insecure” with her looks.
The 28-year-old singer is set to launch her beauty line Rare Beauty this week after make-up became a huge part of her life due to her career in the entertainment industry.
But after growing up in the spotlight, she soon became aware of her looks by comparing herself to others in the industry.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: “This area has always been a part of my life. I’ve been working since I was seven. And as I got older and started working on my show [Wizards of Waverly Place], it was such an important part of my character.
“And then music became a part of my life, and I realised [make-up] was crucial to the entire story of a music video. But I started noticing when I would get to the place where I’d compare myself to other people or when I’d look in the mirror and think, ‘Okay, what can I do to look this way?'”
The Disney star later developed lupus – a condition which causes inflammation of the joints, skin and other organs – and so set out to create a skincare brand that focuses on body positivity.
She continued: “I’ve gotten insecure. I also have lupus so I fluctuate in my weight a lot, so I’ve had to learn pretty early to have thick skin when it comes to this stuff and to understand that it doesn’t matter at all. It’s just hateful. It’s all it is.
“So I wanted to find a way to make this brand into a community – into a lifestyle that’s beyond make-up and showing you how to apply it. It’s about talking about makeup and the relationship you have [with it]. I don’t want this to be about me. I know obviously it’s created by me, but I would be more proud to see the mission we have behind it as well as enjoy it.”

Hailey Bieber is jealous of husband’s eyelashes

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber is jealous of her husband Justin Bieber’s long eyelashes.
The 23-year-old model – who tied the knot with the 26-year-old singer in 2018 – has taken charge of her spouse’s skincare routine in a bid to help him clear up his complexion.
But now, she is left envying his lengthy and luscious lashes as she admits she doesn’t have the “longest lashes in the world”.
Speaking to ELLE.com, she said: “I don’t consider myself as somebody who has the longest lashes in the world. It’s fine. I’ve accepted it. I can live with it. They’re visible, they’re there, but they’re not super long. My husband actually has way longer lashes than I do, and I get really annoyed.”
Luckily, the blonde beauty is now the face of BareMinerals’ Strength & Length collection, which helps make-up lovers achieve fluttery eyelashes and bushy brows with a collection of mascaras and gels with a serum-infused formula.
Discussing the collaboration, Hailey said of the collab: “It’s a very nostalgic feeling for me. My attachment to BareMinerals came when I was young because my mom used it when I was a kid. My mom would use their products on me when I had ballet recitals and stuff like that. I just felt like my partnership and getting to work with them felt really organic. They’ve been one of the only people in the make-up and beauty space that has been clean for many years.”
However, Hailey has taken better care of her skin and facial features lately after being reckless in her teens, having plucked her eyebrows into thin lines.
Hailey explained: “When I was a teenager, I plucked my eyebrows really badly. I went through that phase where I thought a thin eyebrow was the way to go. So after I went through that, I let them grow in thick and not really have a shape. Once they came back in, I started slowly getting them shaped. I do think castor oil does help them to grow. When I was trying to get them to grow back in, I put castor oil on them every night.”

Halima Aden is inspired by Georgia May Jagger’s environmental work

OHMYGOSSIP — Halima Aden says Georgia May Jagger is an inspiration to her due to her environmental and sustainability work.
The 19-year-old Somali-American supermodel has proven to be a major inspiration herself due to her numerous achievements at such a young age, which include being the first Muslim homecoming queen at her high school in St. Cloud, Minnesota, being the first woman to wear a hijab in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant and being the first hijab-wearing model to walk the runway for Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and Moschino.
Halima – who moved to America after spending the first seven years of her life at the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya – wants to create her own charity projects and initiatives and she is constantly impressed by 28-year-old Georgia’s own work such as her ambassadorial role with Project 0, a new initiative which has been created to protect and clean up the world’s oceans.
In an interview with HELLO! Canada, Haliuma – who is now a Pandora muse – said: “Since I was a little girl, I always looked closest to the women around me for inspiration. Growing up, that was my mom. As I grew older, my girlfriends. Now, it’s the women I work with, including the other Pandora muses. All the girls have one thing or another that I can look at and be like, ‘Wow, this is something that I want to learn.’ Whether it’s Georgia [May Jagger], with all that she’s passionate about in terms of sustainability and the work she does to protect the oceans, Larsen [Thompson] with her tech talk videos, or Margaret [Zhang] being a voice and an advocate for the women of China.”
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Halima has been part of the Allure Banding Together initiative which has seen her create hijabs with matching face coverings for women working on the frontline of health care.
Discussing her passion for the project, she said: “Thanks to my team, I’ve still been busy. I haven’t viewed this time as a staycation, but instead as a time to work and improve myself. I’m actually busier now than when I was travelling for work and doing photo shoots.
“One of my passion projects has been donating my time to Allure Banding Together. I designed hijabs with matching face coverings for women in health care – frontline workers. Instead of going behind the ears, these masks clip over the hijab, which saves them time. Amid a pandemic, time is everything!”

Baby Phat to launch makeup line

OHMYGOSSIP — Baby Phat is set to launch a makeup line.
The fashion label – created by former model Kimora Lee Simmons – has joined forces with HatchBeauty Brands to bring the collection to stores, featuring Kimora’s two daughters Ming Lee and Aoki Lee.
Kimora, 45, said: “The girls grew up on the runway. It’s teaching them to tap into their inner entrepreneur, inner creative director, teaching them the ins and outs of the business, which is also very important to me.”
Ming Lee, 18, added: “We are excited to dive into the beauty space with a unique multigenerational perspective.”
The first collection will launch with three different versions of a three-piece kit – each designed to represent the three women: Divine for Kimora, Opulence for Ming and Ethereal for Aoki – featuring a lip gloss, a body lotion and shimmery scented body spray.
Kimora told People magazine: “Ming’s is Opulence. Ming is very similar to me, she gets the love of fashion, beauty and self-expression. The smell is also super yummy. It’s peachy and has orchid with the caramel,” she says. “Aoki’s is called Ethereal. Hers is more about a free-spirited attitude, being independent, a pursuit of knowledge. It’s kind of an uplifting decoration of independence. It’s like I am woman, hear me roar.”
And Aoki, 21, hopes the new line will help better represent their heritage to help other makeup lovers of different cultures feel accepted in the beauty industry.
She explained: “Brands represent more than just products in today’s world, and it’s important for us to continue to be part of cultural and beauty conversations as we forge a new path for girls who look like us.”
A portion of the kit’s sales will be donated to Fair Fight, an organization that promotes fair elections and educates on election reform and voter suppression.
Kimora rose to fame at just 13 years old when she signed a modelling contract with Chanel, and helped inspire designer Karl Lagerfeld’s creative vision and call for racial inclusion.

Goop employees smelt Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina for infamous candle

OHMYGOSSIP — Goop employees smelled Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina to embody the infamous ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’ candle.
The 47-year-old actress – who founded the lifestyle brand – made headlines when she unveiled her unusual scented candle, but it has now been revealed the team behind the candle got their inspiration for the scent by smelling her vagina.
Goop’s chief designer and head of merchandising, Shaun Kearney told Closer magazine: “We all live and breath these products. The Goop office is unlike any workplace in the world. You will find staff sitting at their desk with a bunch of needles in their face or wearing a necklace vibrator while discussing which sex toys gave them the best orgasm that weekend. It’s the most hilariously wonderful and crazy environment
“For the Goop team, smelling Gwyneth’s vagina became just another days at the office! She’s the ultimate embodiment of the brand, and that means ensuring its authenticity with the products.”
The candle – which actually smells of geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar – sold out immediately when it went on sale in mid-January, and Gwyneth said she chose to name the wax creation after her privates because she wanted to end the stigma around female sexuality.
She said: “The idea [is] that women have been taught to have a certain amount of shame about their body. So, if you just light a candle that says ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’, and put it on the coffee table, it’s kind of a punk rock statement.”
And Shaun has praised the ‘Iron Man’ star for being a “trailblazer” by discussing women’s pleasure with her line of vibrators and allowing women to feel confident with their bodies.
He added: “Gwyn’s a trailblazer and isn’t afraid to have conversations we think about but often don’t have. She loves pushing buttons and knows that not everyone’s going to be a fan, but that’s part of her allure and what makes Goop so unique.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s son is ‘obsessed’ with lipsticks

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s son is “obsessed” with her lipsticks.
The 33-year-old model has three-year-old Jack with her actions star fiancé Jason Statham and although she has nailed her mummy morning make-up routine she has trouble keeping all her products in her bag as her tot likes to play with them.
Discussing her beauty routine, she told ELLE: “I’d like to say takes 15 mins, but that would be a load of bollocks. I hydrate my skin using iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, and ZO Skin Health Complexion Renewal Pads, then finish with iS Clinical Super Serum Advance.
“I dot Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer where I need it, then apply its Ambient Lighting Bronzer and Confession Lipstick on my lips and cheeks. My son is obsessed with the lipsticks – he thinks they’re swords.”
However, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel doesn’t worry too much about her lips as they are always in “good shape”, but has suffered majorly with acne and can’t help put squeeze her spots in the morning.
Asked what she sees when she looks in the mirror, she said: “The worst bits first. I struggle with breakouts, so it changes each day. I never worry about my lips – they stay in good shape.”
She added that her worst habit is “squeezing spots”.
What’s more, the British beauty – who landed her first modelling job in New York in 2004 – has sworn off Botox despite it available almost everywhere in Los Angeles.
She explained: “I don’t like to try anything extreme – I’m cautious, especially in LA, where people are like, ‘Do you want breakfast and Botox?’ and I’m like, ‘Uh, no. I’ll take the breakfast and you can keep the Botox.'”
Instead, to keep herself looking young, Rosie fills her fridge with youthful supplements that often leaves her beau baffled.
She added: “Supplements, flaxseed oil and face rollers. My fiancé Jason goes to the fridge and is like, ‘What is this?’ ”

“As much as I enjoyed last year, with all the craziness, it’s nice to step away from the limelight. I’ve enjoyed being in my hometown. I feel like a member of a community.
“‘Rocketman’ was very exciting. I met Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt. But it’s good to get back to reality. I like being down the road from my mum. I like being down the road from my little sisters.”
