Rosie Huntington-Whiteley turned to scientists to change beauty regime

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley turned to “doctors and scientists” in a bid to find the best beauty products.
The 33-year-old model has revealed she decided to change her beauty regime after the birth of her three-year-old son Jack.
Rosie shared: “When my son was born it was important to me to find products that were as non-toxic as possible. So that led me asking a lot of questions to experts, to doctors and to scientists.”
Rosie explained that one of her favourite products at the moment is the Ere Perez Aloe Gel Lash & Brow Mascara.
Speaking via her YouTube channel, Rosie said: “I’m very loyal to my clear eyebrow gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills because my eyebrows tend to be a little bit wiry and they move around, but this is a great clean alternative.
“I love the way it brushes through the eyebrow and gives a feathered look. It really does hold down throughout the day.”
Earlier this month, Rosie admitted she feels under pressure to have cosmetic treatments.
The model said she frequently comes under pressure to have invasive procedures in Los Angeles, where she lives, but she doesn’t want to do anything “extreme” to her body.
She explained: “I don’t like to try anything extreme. I’m cautious, especially in Los Angeles where people are like, ‘Do you want breakfast and Botox?’ and I’m like, ‘Uh, no. I’ll take the breakfast and you can keep the Botox.'”
However, Rosie admitted the one thing she never worries about is her famous pout.
The blonde beauty said: “I never worry about my lips. They stay in good shape.”

Jessica Alba created a ‘spa-like’ bathroom

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Alba has created a “spa-like environment” in her bathroom.
The 39-year-old actress – who has Honor, 12, Haven, nine, and Hayes, two, with husband Cash Warren – has revealed she’s embraced “at-home treatments” as she tries to balance her beauty regime with the demands of motherhood and her career.
Jessica said: “I still try to practise self-care as much as possible, but now it’s about improvising, getting it in when and where I can, and doing more at-home treatments (which can be just as luxurious).
“I try to create a spa-like environment in my bathroom and I’ve recently started making my own body scrubs.”
Jessica also revealed that her daughters, Honor and Haven, have joined her in having beauty treatments.
The Hollywood actress actually uses products from her Honest Beauty company as part of her everyday regime.
Speaking to Vogue India magazine, she explained: “My girls, Honor and Haven, are old enough to join me in beauty treatments.
For them, it’s not about the treatment per se, but about the fun activity that they can do with mom. We love to do masks together for mother-daughter bonding time.
“Since we use Honest Beauty, I don’t worry about the ingredients because I know they’re clean and I trust the formulas for my family.”
Earlier this year, Jessica insisted self-care is “really important” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The actress said: “I think, right now, it’s a really important time to do self-care.
“I think self-care is super important and I always start my self-care routine, which is daily – especially when I’m on Zoom calls – with my mask.”

Ashley Graham shows postpartum stretch marks on social media

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham has revealed her postpartum stretch marks on social media.
The 32-year-old model – who has a seven-month-old son called Isaac with husband Justin Ervin – has taken to Instagram to post a video of her stretch marks, moving her hands into a heart shape over her skin.
The brunette beauty – who is a proponent of body positivity – captioned the video with a series of love heart emojis.
Ashley has always been happy to post her stretch marks on social media, and in 2017, she shared photos from a nude photoshoot for V magazine, one of which showed stretch marks on her back.
Meanwhile, Ashley admitted earlier this year to being in “heaven” since becoming a mother.
The model couldn’t be happier with life as a mother, hailing her son as “sweet and so happy”.
She said: “I am in heaven. I love being a momma. He is so cute and so sweet and so happy.”
Ashley also revealed that she and her spouse chose to name their son Isaac because the moniker means “laughter”, and they feel blessed to have a baby who embodies the name.
She explained: “When my husband and I were naming him, Isaac means laughter, and we just really wanted a happy, laughing baby – and sure enough we got him.”
Ashley is also thankful that the coronavirus lockdown allowed her to spend more time with her baby.
She said: “The biggest blessing out of all of this is that I get to spend this time with him that I never would have been able to carve out for myself.”

Jodie Turner-Smith: I use my own breast milk in my skincare routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Turner-Smith puts breast milk in her face serums.
The ‘Queen & Slim’ star gave birth to her daughter Janie four months ago, and has said ever since she became a first-time mother, she’s been putting her own breast milk into her beauty products to help keep her skin looking healthy.
She said: “Ever since I had my baby, my current beauty secret is that I put breast milk in all of my face serums. My skin is very sensitive, so I use a light cleanser, and then I put on a serum with aloe and breast milk that I literally squeeze right into my hands from my boob. I think it’s the lactic acid. I’ve just found that the milk has been revolutionary.”
Jodie is currently starring in a campaign for Gucci’s latest Bloom fragrance, and gushed over the brand’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, for his “genderless” and “playful” approach to fashion.
She added: “I had long admired Alessandro’s aesthetic: fanciful and genderless and really playful.”
The 34-year-old actress – who has her daughter with her husband Joshua Jackson – also praised her campaign photos, as she was able to be “powerful” and “gentle” at the same time, which she says is rare for a Black woman in the fashion industry.
She explained: “There were so many times where I would take photos, and whoever I’m working with was like, ‘Now, can you be really fierce and growl?’ And it’s like, ‘Can I just be tender?’ White women get to be that all the time. So I loved the fact that I could be this woman who is powerful while still gentle. Can I be a carefree Black girl?!”
And Jodie loves the new Bloom fragrance as an avid fan of essential oils, incense, and floral fragrances, as the scent is a heady blend of tuberose, jasmine, and sandalwood.
Speaking to Vogue magazine, she said: “Scent really has the power to shift your mood, to calm you, to excite you. That’s something that’s always been very important to me.”

Irina Shayk favours clean skin over makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Irina Shayk favours “clean” skin over heavy makeup.
The 34-year-old model has admitted she “loves” playing around with makeup, but insisted she would much rather keep her skin “very clean” and apply minimal makeup, instead of covering her whole face in product.
She said: “Less is more, for me. I always like to keep my skin very clean and just do either eyes or lips. I love makeup, but I think you should wear [the makeup]. Makeup should not be wearing you.”
And Irina admitted she didn’t know much about makeup before she started modelling.
She added: “I learned how to apply makeup just learning through the shoots and stuff.”
The model – who has three-year-old daughter Lea De Seine with her ex-partner Bradley Cooper – also shared her skincare tips, as she said she loves to drink a glass of water with lemon every morning to keep her skin hydrated and healthy.
She explained during a video for Vogue in which she ran through her makeup routine: “So I’m Russian, and as you know, in Russia it’s very cold. I grew up in very cold weather. When I wake up or travel, and feel a little swollen [with] bags under my eyes, I run to the fridge and I get an ice cube, and [glide it] all around my eye area, my chin, [and] all around my face.
“I think my other beauty secret and tip for everyone is to have a glass of water with lemon every morning. Just to start up your day, and I think it’s really good for your skin.”

Sarah Jessica Parker lends shoes to Christian Siriano for his virtual fashion show

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Jessica Parker is lending shoes from her own fashion brand to designer Christian Siriano for his digital fashion show.
Christian will host his spring 2021 show from Connecticut on Thursday (17.09.20), but has revealed his plans to put on the socially distanced fashion event were almost thrown into jeopardy when he was unable to get his hands on the Italian-made shoes he normally uses to complete his looks.
But thankfully, his show has been saved as actress Sarah Jessica Parker was able to step in to supply the designer with a fresh shipment of shoes from her SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker brand.
Sarah had been lucky enough to receive a shipment of her footwear just before the coronavirus pandemic – which has been particularly bad in both Italy and the US – took hold, so was more than happy to help Christian when he needed some shoes to pair with his gowns.
He said: “Normally we make our own shoes.”
And Sarah added: “Italy was closed.”
To which Christian continued: “And they still kind of are. So I was like, ‘Well, I really love these shoes, let me ask my neighbour!’ I’m still getting my beautiful, gorgeous shoes.”
Sarah lent Christian an array of shoes including SJP classics like the T-strap Carrie shoe, and some trendier styles, such as the Fawn pump covered in the ‘Sex and the City’ star’s initials.
And ahead of the fashion show, the 55-year-old actress can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like, even if she can’t be there in person to sit in the front row like she usually would.
In a joint interview, she told Vogue magazine: “It’s going to be really powerful. We’ll all be cheering as you screen. It’s going to be really nice for people. I want for all young designers to really have their world back.”

Tommy Hilfiger: Fashion needs to be more sustainable

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Hilfiger wants to see the fashion industry become more “sustainable and inclusive”.
The 69-year-old fashion designer – who is the founder of his eponymously titled fashion brand – has called for more to be done to make the industry environmentally friendly, as well as inclusive to all genders, races, and body types.
Tommy’s clothing brand has launched a new initiative to ensure they cut down on their waste, and the designer has said he’s “excited” to see how other creators will “evolve for the better”.
When asked what he wants to change about the fashion industry, he said: “For the industry to take on a more sustainable and inclusive approach. The pandemic has shown that we were heading down an unsustainable path – socially and environmentally. This has sparked important conversations and change.
“At Tommy, we are so excited to have just launched our Make it Possible Program, a commitment to create fashion that wastes nothing and welcomes all. Brands are being challenged to reevaluate their priorities, and I’m excited to see how we will all evolve for the better.”
And Tommy also wants to see brands working alongside more activists, who will help to “drive meaningful change”.
He added: “Consumers are aligning with brands that authentically share their values. We will see more partnerships with activists working to make the world a better place. We have always partnered with ambassadors who use their voices and platforms to drive meaningful change. More than ever, we are looking for dreamers who use their voice for good to collaborate with.”
The designer even wants to see an end to “trend-chasing”, as he encouraged people to stop switching out their entire wardrobe whenever something new comes into fashion.
Speaking to InStyle magazine, he said: “We moved away from the traditional seasonal cycle years ago so that fans could shop our collections in-season. It’s all about putting the consumer first. As the industry realises that the rigid timeline and framework aren’t consumer-centric, we’ll likely see a shift away from trend-chasing. As a brand, we have always believed in creating wardrobe staples with a sense of purpose that withstand the tests of time.”

Leomie Anderson was told black models were her ‘competition’

OHMYGOSSIP — Leomie Anderson was told not to socialise with other black models because they were her “competition”.
The 27-year-old beauty admitted her agency bosses also advised her never to follow another black model into a casting because those making decisions would get “confused” between them.
She said: “I’d be told not to go into a casting after another black girl because they might get you confused with each other.
“They’d advise me not to be seen too much with another black girl, because that’s your competition.”
The LAPP founder warned against the “danger” of agencies complying with casting requirements that ask for particular racial qualities.
She told Stella magazine: “My agents received emails from brands saying we don’t want dark-skinned girls, [or] we only want black girls with European features. We only want black girls who have straight hair.
“These were emails that they were receiving daily. And they were just agreeing and they would still send girls to these places.
“I think that it is even dangerous of them to send girls that did fit the criteria because they’re still being treated as if they are a clothes hanger.”
And the London-born star only fully “understood the concept” of racism when she began her career, though she now recognises she faced discrimination when she was a child.
She said: “I didn’t understand the concept properly until I entered into the fashion industry but there were a lot of subtle things that I noticed from a very young age.
“After school everyone would go to Boots to try out make-up, I was just there playing with eye shadow because there was no foundation in my shade. It’s so crazy to me to think back on those moments.
“I used to think that black people just didn’t have any make-up. It was a very insidious and very subtle type of discrimination.”

Kim Kardashian West feels ‘proud’ of her maternity line

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West insists her maternity line isn’t designed to slim “but to support”.
The 39-year-old TV star has hit back at recent criticism of her SKIMS maternity collection, after she was accused of trying to pressure women to hide their natural figures.
Kim – who has North, seven, Saint, four, Chicago, two, and Psalm, 16 months, with Kanye West – wrote on Twitter: “To anyone who has an issue with maternity solutionwear, and if you haven’t been pregnant before you may not know the struggle of what it’s like carrying all of this weight the way I did along with millions of strong women, @skims maternity line is not to slim but to support. (sic)”
The brunette beauty subsequently explained how and why her maternity line has been designed as it has.
She wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “The belly part doesn’t slim your belly, it’s actually sheer and a thinner layered material compared to the rest of the garment. It provides support to help with the uncomfortable weight being carried in your stomach which affects your lower back –
“and the compression on the leggings helps with pain relief caused by swelling. It is also worn after you have given birth and provides the comfort and support that most women need after delivery especially if you are recovering from a cesarean.
“We launched this category in response to the tens of thousands of pregnant women who wrote us requesting it and because it was something I personally needed when I was pregnant myself. (sic)”
Kim added that she feels “proud” of her maternity line.
She wrote: “Based on the majority of positive feedback we have received so far from pregnant women around the world, I am incredibly proud to provide a solution that will provide comfort and support during the times that we all need it most, during pregnancy and after.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyra Banks feels “proud” that her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue shoot managed to crash the magazine’s website.
The 46-year-old beauty has starred on the cover three times during her career – in 1996, 1997 and 2019 – and Tyra was especially pleased to see the impact of her latest shoot for the magazine.
Tyra said: “I was on it, again, last year. And for the first time in the history of the Sports Illustrated having a website – not Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition website, the Sports Illustrated website – it crashed.”
Speaking to NPR, Tyra added: “I’m proud of that.”
Tyra has recently replaced Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as the new host of ‘Dancing with the Stars’, and the model has confessed she’s looking forward to the challenge.
The TV star also admitted she’s nervous about “stepping into [their] shoes” on the series.
She explained: “I think the challenge is stepping into shoes. I mean, you know, Tom Bergeron and Erin. They lead the show, this is one of the top-rated shows in the world. So [I’m] respecting the stage that they have set and then adding my icing to that.
“I feel confident about that, but of course, it’s a challenge, but I don’t back away from challenges.”
And although she’s hoping the live shows go off without a hitch, Tyra admitted she isn’t too worried about making mistakes.
She said: “I love when something wrong happens because the world can see, like, the imperfection. I always say, ‘Show the mishaps and the malfunctions and the mistakes.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lara Stone has “a lot more opportunity for self-care” now her son is back at school.
The 36-year-old model – who has Alfred, seven, with ex-husband David Walliams – has revealed how her make-up and beauty regime has evolved over the years.
She shared: “I loved experimenting with make-up when I was a teenager, but in my twenties, when I was working all the time, I kind of lost interest as I had my make-up done every day at work.”
Lara explained that her son now has a huge influence on her lifestyle and her approach to “self-care”.
She told Vogue India magazine: “My priorities have changed, and if I had to choose between having my roots touched up and hanging out with my son, I’d always choose him.
“Although now that he’s bigger and back at school, there is a lot more opportunity for self-care.”
Lara previously admitted to having mixed feelings about ageing and Botox.
The model doesn’t have any issues with people who get Botox as a means of retaining their youthful looks, but she admitted it’s not something she’s keen to try herself.
She reflected: “I was thinking about this the other day, as it’s just so normal now.
“It’s crazy how all these young kids are getting fillers and stuff, and I’m wondering whether my generation is going to be the last one to look properly old, which really freaks me out.
“On the other hand, I feel like if you’re really not happy with something, it’s so easy to get it fixed these days, so why not? I definitely get tempted on occasion and think, ‘Maybe just a bit of Botox here and a bit of thingy there.’ But at the end of the day, I just don’t think it’s for me.”

Adriana Lima: Motherhood changes everything

OHMYGOSSIP — Adriana Lima admits motherhood changed “everything” in her life.
The 39-year-old model – who has Sienna, eight, and Valentina, 10, with Marko Jaric – has confessed that her beauty and self-care regimes have gone “out the window” at times as she focused her attention on her children.
She said: “Becoming a mother changes everything. Beauty and self-care go out the window sometimes.
“But as my two daughters have gotten older, I’ve realised that they copy a lot of what I do and my habits, and it’s important for me to make sure they’re copying good ones.”
Adriana is happy to allow her kids to experiment with make-up – although she also seeks “positive mental wellness through meditation”.

John Boyega slams Jo Malone’s ‘nonsense’

OHMYGOSSIP — John Boyega has blasted Jo Malone’s decision to cut him out of an advert in China.
The 28-year-old actor has taken to social media to condemn the brand’s decision to recast the commercial, which John conceived, directed and starred in.
The London-born star – who has also stepped down as a global ambassador for the company – wrote on Twitter: “I have decided to step down as Jo Malone’s global ambassador. When I joined the brand as their first male global ambassador last year, I created the short film we used to launch the campaign. It won the Fragrance Foundation Virtual awards 2020 for Best Media Campaign.
“Their decision to replace my campaign in China by using my concepts and substituting a local brand ambassador for me, without either my consent or prior notice, was wrong. The film celebrated my personal story- showcasing my hometown, including my friends and featuring my family.
“While many brands understandably use a variety of global and local ambassadors , dismissively trading out one’s culture this way is not something I can condone.
“It’s back to back but I assure you this will be dealt with swiftly. I don’t have time for nonsense. We press on and strong. Stay blessed people [love heart emoji] (sic)”
Meanwhile, Jo Malone has apologised for the decision to cut John from the commercial.
The perfume brand has admitted to making a “mistake” by recasting the advert, which originally featured the actor walking around Peckham, south London, and spending time with his family.
Jo Malone said in a statement: “We deeply apologise for what on our end was a mistake in the local execution of the John Boyega campaign.
“John is a tremendous artist with great personal vision and direction. The concept for the film was based on John’s personal experiences and should not have been replicated.”

Tyra Banks ‘stayed up all night to develop smizing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyra Banks “stayed up all night” to develop the concept of smizing.
The 46-year-old model has become synonymous with the term – which means to smile with your eyes – and she’s now explained how she developed the idea.
Tyra said: “I came up with it because there’s a way that when you look at a photo and you feel nothing, it’s actually because the person is not smizing. So it’s like their eyes are dead, and they’re not giving you anything.
“So for me, I turned that into smiling with your eyes. And I would teach models and even my family and friends about smiling with their eyes. And I was like, wait, that is too much.
“When we tell somebody to smile for the camera, we say cheese. So I need to make this one syllable. So I stayed up all night, y’all.
“One night, I stayed up all night. And I was writing on my paper smeyes (ph) – S-M-E-Y-E-S, smeyes, S-M-I-S-E, smilize (ph), all this stuff.”
Tyra was also quick to recognise the potential commercial value of the expression.
Speaking to NPR, she explained: “Finally, I was – I put S-M-I-Z-E. And I was like, that’s it. And then I ran and trademarked it before I said it anywhere in the world.”
The world-famous model also acknowledged there are various ways to smize.
Tyra – who is set to host the new series of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ – shared: “There’s many different ways. There’s a sultry, sensuous, fierce smize. And you need to be thinking about something that you love, like pizza.
“Then there’s the smize of delight and of pleasure and of sweetness. So there’s, like, different ones. And you have to think of different things to create a different – to activate a different muscle in your face.”

Jo Malone apologises to John Boyega for cutting him from Chinese ad

OHMYGOSSIP — Jo Malone has apologised to John Boyega for cutting him out of an advert in China.
The perfume brand has admitted to making a “mistake” by cutting John, 28, from the commercial, which he conceived, directed and starred in.
Jo Malone said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: “We deeply apologise for what on our end was a mistake in the local execution of the John Boyega campaign.
“John is a tremendous artist with great personal vision and direction. The concept for the film was based on John’s personal experiences and should not have been replicated.”
In the Chinese version of the advert, John was replaced by Liu Haoran after the ad was recast and reshot.
The original version – which was released last year – saw the movie star walking around Peckham, south London, riding a horse, and spending time with his family.
But after being remade for the Chinese market, the original ad’s multicultural cast were replaced and it ultimately didn’t feature any black cast members.
Jo Malone has now removed the local version of the campaign.
The company added: “We recognise that this was painful and that offence was caused. We respect John, and support our partners and fans globally.
“We are taking this misstep very seriously and we are working together as a brand to do better moving forward.”
Meanwhile, John previously discussed the racism he encountered after being cast in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
The London-born actor – who played Finn in the money-spinning films – shared: “What I would say to Disney is do not bring out a black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side.
“I’m the only cast member who had their own unique experience of that franchise based on their race … it makes you angry with a process like that.”
