Cardi B wants to trademark WAP

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has filed documents to trademark ‘WAP’ for a range of clothes, accessories and drinks.
The 27-year-old rapper released the single ‘WAP’ – which is a three-letter acronym for “Wet A** P**** – with Megan Thee Stallion in August and the track went on to become a smash hit around the globe
Now, Cardi is looking to cash in further on the song’s success and filed documents last week which trademark the title so it can be used for products such as women’s clothing, headwear, footwear, sports bags, purses, luggage, posters, stickers and jewellery.
The hip hop superstar also listed the wish to use ‘WAP’ as a trademark for an array of beverages, such as energy drinks, soft drinks, mineral water, beer and liquor, according to a report by TMZ.
Cardi has already released a capsule collection comprised of ‘WAP’ emblazoned raincoats and umbrellas as well as cropped hoodies and T-shirts which feature the single’s cover artwork.
The limited edition line also featured sweat shirts, joggers and a sports bra and biker short set which all featured the WAP graffiti-style logo.
As well as it’s sexually explicit lyrics, ‘WAP’ also attracted much attention thanks to the accompanying music video which featured cameos from several famous faces, including Kylie Jenner, Normani and Rosalia, whilst the ‘WAP’ dance performed by Cardi and Megan sparked a viral sensation with fans attempting to recreate it on TikTok and Instagram.
This is not the first time that Cardi has tried to trademark a catchphrase.

Lauren Conrad to expand beauty brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Lauren Conrad is set to add more products to her beauty brand.
The 34-year-old business woman launched her company Lauren Conrad Beauty last month with just five products, and now she is expanding the brand with 26 more pieces in the makeup, skin-care, and body-care categories.
Speaking to Allure, she said: “I started the process a couple of times, but I wanted to wait until I could check all my boxes of formulas, packaging, and affordable price point. I’ve worked on this line for two-and-a-half years, but I’ve tried for many years to make it happen.”
The long product list includes multiple types of facial cleansers, a vitamin C oil, as well as two types of body moisturizers and two eyeshadow palettes.
But for the former reality star, her favourite product is the liquid eyeliner after making a statement with her signature cat-eye look throughout her youth.
She explained: “Going into this process, I thought the one thing I especially had to get right was the liquid eyeliner.
“It’s one of those products that I’m always seeking out, and I’ve had so much trouble finding the right one over the years, so I really wanted to nail it.”
The make-up product took a long time to develop as the team were back-and-forth trying to find the perfect formula.
Lauren continued: “Fortunately, it was a product that we started really early on, so we had a lot of time to play with it.”
What’s more, ‘The Hills’ star has accommodated to every kind of makeup lover by including a variety of products to suit their needs and skin type.
She explained: “My approach has always been ‘wear the makeup you really love that makes you feel like you’ and ‘use products that you feel good about.”

Precious Lee: Lipstick can elevate your energy

OHMYGOSSIP — Precious Lee believes lipstick can “elevate” her energy.
The 31-year-old model uses the beauty product to help make a bold statement so she can accomplish any challenging tasks as it has bought her inspiration to “seize the day”.
Asked why lipstick is so powerful, she said: “Well, I’ve always used lipstick. If I ever needed an extra boost, or if I had a big day, lipstick has always been something that I’ve used to express myself and elevate my energy.
“[Lipstick] can be a reminder and inspiration for you to just go full out, seize the day, and [turn] up for whatever it is that you’re trying to do. You can reach for a bold lipstick and get excited about whatever challenging task.”
Precious – who is the face of Make Up For Ever’s latest Rouge Artist collection – first became obsessed with lipstick from watching her mother get ready by using the product for both her lips and cheeks.
Speaking to Allure, she explained: “If she really liked the color, she would use it as her lipstick and her blush, which is such an old school pro move.
“She always had lipstick on. She can go out in public and wear [no other makeup] on her face and wear sunglasses – but she would have lipstick on. And I don’t know if it’s a Southern belle thing, but it’s just something that I always grew up with. Lipstick was always multi-usage for my mom. She was totally an artist with her lipstick.”
However, it is not just her mother that the beauty has taken inspiration from as she would love to know what products Beyoncé uses.
Asked whose make-up bag would she love to have a peak in, she replied: “I really am going to have to say Beyoncé, my fellow Virgo. She does the supple, effortless, magically contoured, beautiful, natural inside-out beauty flow that I want to know exactly what she uses. What is this eye cream? What is it that you got going on? I feel like she has tricks and treats and stuff that, as a Virgo, I could really appreciate.
“And she, also, is a southern girl. Her mother had a hair salon – I grew up in the hair salon. Beyoncé being a southern woman, I feel like it’s also super-cool to know how she [gets so] glowy, natural, and dewy.”

Kourtney Kardashian is pleased that her lifestyle advice is becoming mainstream

OHMYGOSSIP — Kourtney Kardashian is delighted that her clean living habits such as eating organic food are now becoming mainstream.
The 41-year-old reality TV star launched her own lifestyle website and brand Poosh in April 2019 and she feels as though many of the things she has been advocating for a healthy lifestyle are now becoming “normal” and that is a sign of positive change.
Speaking to WWD, she said: “I feel like finally people are listening to me. It’s frustrating to feel like it’s kind of this weird thing to eat organically or things that to me are pretty standard in self-care, so I think now it’s become normal in a way and I’m just happy that it’s catching on.
“My goal when I started Poosh was really to be able to provide (wellness) information in a non-judgmental way … I’m surprised at how much I’m learning with this whole experience.”
Poosh offers expert advice and opinions across a range of topics such as fitness, diet, sexual health and beauty tips.
Kourtney believes that the COVID-19 pandemic has made people reassess their lifestyles and habits and made them realise that they need to get healthier, which has made Poosh more relevant than ever before.
She added: “Especially during this time, health and wellness are such important things. It’s even more important to take care of yourself.”
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star and her famous friends, such as Miranda Kerr and Malika Haqq, have become even more committed to clean living since becoming mothers because they want to set a good example to their kids.
Kourtney – who has three children, son Mason, 10, daughter Penelope, eight, and son Reign, five – said: “Just as moms, we’re modelling to our kids what ways we take care of ourselves.
“It’s funny because the foods I eat or different things, I’ll notice my kids will tend to have an interest in that.”

Victoria Beckham: Exercise to me is like brushing my teeth

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham says daily exercise is the same as “brushing your teeth”.
The 46-year-old fashion designer exercises every day because she sees it as being as important as maintaining your health and wellbeing.
Speaking to Stella magazine, she said: “I work out every day – I see it like brushing your teeth, it’s just something you do. I normally do an uphill walk on the treadmill, followed by a Tracy Anderson routine.”
After a long day at work, Victoria’s eight-year-old daughter Harper is on hand to help her wind down and relax at home.
She explained: “Harper often makes an Epsom bath soak for me when I get home from work. She’s also into beauty treatments which is really sweet. Sometimes we make our own face masks with a little manuka honey and organic oats.”
The former Spice Girls singer – who also has three sons, Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 18, and 15-year-old Cruz, with husband David Beckham – thinks it is a real “luxury” if her evening allows her time not only for a pampering session but also to fit in reading a chapter from a book.
She said: “My Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum and Priming Moisturizer are my nightly staples to repair my skin while I sleep. The serum changed my skin and is the power player in my regime.
“Sometimes I have the time to add a face mask and read a few pages of a good book – luxury.”
And Victoria makes sure she gets up before the rest of her household so she gets some time to herself.
She said: “I try to get up before everyone else – it’s my time for me. I have hot water with lemon and apple cider vinegar to help maintain a healthy digestive system. I also have two cups of black coffee to properly wake me up.
“After my shower, I cleanse my face and use my Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum and Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer followed by a sunscreen.”

Penelope Cruz smoked because of film role

OHMYGOSSIP — Penelope Cruz took up smoking after playing a nicotine addicted character in one of her films.
The 46-year-old actress – who has children Leo, nine, and Luna, seven, with her actor husband Javier Bardem – was turned on to cigarettes due to her alter ego’s habit and she puffed away for a “few years”.
However, Penelope quit when she decided she wanted to be in the best health possible in order to have children.
Speaking to Stella magazine, she said: “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke and I eat really healthily.
“I’ve always taken good care of myself and maintained a healthy lifestyle.
“I’ve never drunk alcohol, but I smoked for a few years because one of my characters did; I quit when I decided I was going to be a mother.”
Penelope smoked in 2001 crime biopic ‘Blow’ – in which she starred opposite Johnny Depp as cocaine smuggler George Jung – and in Woody Allen’s 2008 comedy-drama ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, a performance which won her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
The Spanish star has also opened up on her daily routine and insists she always tries to get a good night’s sleep and finds meditation a great way to relax and refocus.
She said: “I try to get eight hours’ sleep if I can, and I’ve started meditating again recently, which really helps me to appreciate the present moment. Just like the gym works the body, meditation allows you to calm the mind. Practising it daily improves my ability to relax.”
The ‘Vanilla Sky’ actress is also a skilled hairdresser after spending a lot of time watching her mother at work in a beauty salon when she was younger.
She said: “I spent a lot of time in my mother’s beauty salon as a child and teenager, watching her. I learned to do a bit of everything: cutting, curling and straightening hair, waxing, colouring, putting in rollers.”

Dolly Parton’s tasteful tattoos

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton’s tattoos aren’t a “big statement”.
The ‘9 To 5’ hitmaker has a few inkings, but insists they were put “over some scar” and are “tasteful” as she’s not really a “tattoo girl”.
She shared: “I do have some tattoos, that’s true. But they’re tasteful. I’m not a tattoo girl … My tattoos are pretty, they’re artful and they usually started out to cover some scar, not to make a big statement.
“Ribbons and bows and butterflies are the things that I have. I was very sick for a while and I had to wear a feeding tube. It left a little indention in my side and I didn’t like it because I’m so fair that scars turn purple on me.”
And the 74-year-old singer – who is married to Carl Dean – uses her tattoos to turn her negative experiences into positive ones.
She added: “I like to make positives out of negatives. I had a little beehive tattooed over it – a little yellow-and-brown beehive with a tiny little bee on top of the hive. The mouth of it is that little sinkhole.”
Dolly admits there are multiple rumours about her life, including that she’s “bedridden” because of her sizeable bust.
She told People magazine: “Oh yeah! I always laugh at them. One, it shows up about every three years in the tabloids, where I’m bedridden because my boobs are so heavy that I’m crippled for life on my back. I just laugh. Well, they are heavy, but they haven’t crippled me yet. And then they find a picture of me, from when I was actually doing a video, you know, laying on all the bed somewhere. And the story is that my spine is injured or whatever. I just think, ‘Oh my Lord. If they were that heavy, I’d have them changed. I’d have them lessened.'”

Heather Rae Young: You must invest in skincare

OHMYGOSSIP — Heather Rae Young thinks that “investing” in skincare is much more important than spending money on make-up.
The ‘Selling Sunset’ star always pays a lot of attention to her beauty routine as she doesn’t think her make-up looks as good as it could if her skincare routine isn’t as focused, thorough and consistent.
She said: “Personally, I think if your skin doesn’t look good, you’re make-up won’t look good over it. Investing in your skincare is way more important than any make-up product … No matter how tired I am or how late it is, I will always take off my make-up before bed. To do this, I’ll use an oil-based cleanser and a soft white washcloth to make sure everything is off and my skin is clean.”
Heather also admitted to “playing it safe” with her make-up and she much prefers a natural look than anything “too heavy”.
She added: “I usually play it safe with my make-up and I like it to look fresh, pretty and simple. Nothing too heavy. I’ll start with the Tinted Moisturiser from Suntegrity, before swirling on a pop of soft pink blusher as well as bronzer … I’ll finish the look with a slick of lip gloss and my favourite shade is a rose pink.”
Heather is set to marry Tarek El Moussa soon, after recently getting engaged, and she already has her hair and make-up planned.
She told Grazia magazine of her planned look: “I’ve already booked my make-up artist who has been doing my make-up since I was 21 years-old.
“We’re going for something very soft and pretty … Tarek loves me in plaits, so I’m thinking something with a plait.”

John Galliano ‘filled with anxiety’

OHMYGOSSIP — John Galliano was “filled with anxiety” when he was faced with designing a new fashion collection during lockdown.
The fashion designer admitted it was tough, at first, when he decided to create the new pieces of clothing whilst working from home during the coronavirus pandemic, but once he “embraced the unknown” and accepted reality, he found it a lot easier and got back into the swing of things.
Asked what it was like designing a collection in lockdown, he admitted: “In the beginning, it filled me with anxiety – and like everyone, of course, we had to deal with practical challenges. To me, it became a matter of turning those challenges into a sense of resourcefulness. I applied some of the things I’ve been fortunate to have been taught in the past. It’s like a mourning period – once you accept reality, you are able to embrace the unknown. And so it became a driving force – the feeling that nothing would stand in the way of creativity.”
And the 59-year-old creative director of fashion house Maison Margiela knows fashion will change dramatically following the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to AnOther magazine, he added: “What I eventually realised during the lockdown period was that fashion as we’ve known it in the past will never be the same, at least not until a vaccine is found.
“For the moment, I hope the format we adapted to this season can be a new way of communicating and exploring one’s collection. I don’t really like doing those big shows any more, because so often the focus is taken off the clothes. I prefer smaller shows. For now, I’m happy treading gently in this new direction.”

Nicolas Ghesquière’s handy academic studies

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Ghesquière’s academic studies prepared him for his fashion role.
The creative director of Louis Vuitton studied history and mathematics during his school days but always had an eye towards making it as a fashion designer.
He said: “Everything I was doing – studying history, studying mathematics, my motivation to study was because I thought that one day those things could be interesting to express in fashion.”
Nicolas was 17 when he decided to move to Paris in a bid to work for Jean Paul Gaultier, a move that upset his parents. However, when he got a role at the company, his father was so shocked by his pay check that he wondered if he was doing anything illegal.
He shared of his parents’ disappointment: “My mother was crying. My father was a very strong man. He was very tough with me.
“It was hard … I had to explain that suddenly I was making maybe twice the salary he was getting. It was a big break and I was 21.”
The 49-year-old fashion designer admits it has been “constantly under discussion” for him to have his own fashion label, but he quipped he would be one of the first “old designers” to have their own eponymous brand.
Of the prospect, he told Vanity Fair magazine: “It’s constantly under discussion. I won’t be the fresh darling … one of the first old designers to make a new brand. So I’m not saying ‘no’ but I’m not saying ‘yes.'”

Khloe Kardashian went ‘stealth’ to a tanning salon

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian went “stealth” to a tanning salon.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star didn’t want to be photographed heading into the health and beauty salon for a tan so kept a low profile, but she was really surprised when the salon staff revealed her mother Kris Jenner frequents there a lot.
Speaking on the family’s E! reality show, she said: “I went to a real tanning bed on Saturday or something … I had to go stealth. But I actually wear sunscreen … And they were like, ‘Do you want the package your mom gets?’ I was like, ‘Ah! My mom goes all the time!'”
Meanwhile, Khloe previously insisted that makeup and skincare is “essentially in her DNA”.
She shared: “Makeup and skincare is essentially in my DNA. I’ve taken some tips and tricks from what others were doing but I have an approach to beauty that’s all my own.”
And Khloe admits she doesn’t like to “stick with one look for too long” as she feels beauty should be “anything but boring”.
She added: “I never like to stick with one look for too long. Short hair, major glam, bright lips – you name a look, I’ve tried it. You get to be a different character every single day and experiment. To me, beauty should be anything but boring. It’s a form of self-expression. There’s really no right or wrong, it’s more about how it makes you feel.”
The 36-year-old reality television star is back to brunette now after a stint as a blonde and she is having “a lot of fun” with her new look.
She shared: “I’m having a lot of fun as a ‘new’ brunette.

Lizzo’s ‘politicised’ fashion choices

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo’s fashion choices are always “politicised”.
The ‘Juice’ hitmaker feels people have more of an opinion on what she wears because she is a “big black woman”.
Speaking to Vogue magazine for the 73 Questions video series, she said: “I think that I was politicised because of the things that I wore. Being a big black woman, wearing what I wore on stage was instantly political and it made a statement and I’m grateful for that. It was annoying at first, but I’m so grateful to be a part of moving the conversation in fashion forward for bigger bodies and Black women.”
And Lizzo is a big fan of high-waisted jeans.
She added: “All of my jeans are high-waisted jeans. Cause my waist is high. I’m a big girl, my waist is up here. It ain’t here.”
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old singer previously slammed the body positivity movement for “not benefiting” the people that “created” the term.
She said: “Now, you look at the hashtag ‘body positive,’ and you see smaller-framed girls, curvier girls. Lotta white girls. And I feel no ways about that, because inclusivity is what my message is always about. I’m glad that this conversation is being included in the mainstream narrative. What I don’t like is how the people that this term was created for are not benefiting from it. Girls with back fat, girls with bellies that hang, girls with thighs that aren’t separated, that overlap. Girls with stretch marks. You know, girls who are in the 18-plus club. They need to be benefiting from … the mainstream effect of body positivity now. But with everything that goes mainstream, it gets changed. It gets – you know, it gets made acceptable.”

Ashley Graham back on the runway

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham has returned to the catwalk.
The model admitted she “missed” the runway so much, as she made her return from her maternity leave to walk in Fendi’s spring/summer 2021 show during Milan Fashion Week.
She wrote on Instagram: “Woke up in a @fendi dream … @silviaventurinifendi @stockdale.charlotte @pg_dmcasting @chaos thank you for having me and congratulations on such a gorgeous collection! It has been a difficult year for everyone and I’m so impressed by the fashion industry’s resilience and quick adapting. Thank you to everyone who helped me (safely) get back to the runway. I missed it so much! (sic)”
Fendi also shared a video of Ashley on the runway on their own Instagram account, with the model commenting below it, alongside red heart emojis: “Thank you SO much for having me (sic)”
Meanwhile, Ashley – who has Isaac, eight months, with her husband Justin Ervin – recently spoke about her decision to stop letting the fashion industry “take over” her body.
She said: “I let the fashion industry take over my body for too many years. The moment I stepped free and said, ‘Enough is enough – I’m going to do what I want,’ is when I started seeing changes, not only in my personal life but in my professional life. But it really takes hard work.”
And the 32-year-old model’s stretch marks make her feel like a “superhero”.
She said: “When I look at my new stretch marks and the changes that my body went through, it reminds me that, as women, we’re all superheroes. I’m always reminded that our bodies were built to do this. It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to give birth, but I didn’t realise it until afterward. Before I was even pregnant, that was always my hope for women in general, that they could learn to continue to love their bodies through the changes and the ups and downs.”

Catherine O’Hara against surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine O’Hara would never have any work done on her face.
The ‘Schitt’s Creek’ star insists she would never have any procedures including facelift or Botox as she is “afraid” of needles.
Asked if she has had any work done, she told Today: “I’m afraid of needles, except acupuncture needles. I wouldn’t mind spending a little more time and effort and money on good skin care.
“And I’m sure they’ll come out with, as they are doing, with more and more treatments that are noninvasive and healthy ways to keep your face looking as good as it can. But no. No!”
Meanwhile, Catherine is known for her variety of outfits and looks in ‘Schitt’s Creek’ and she has enjoyed dressing up for the show.
Explaining one outfit, she said: “The dress, hair, and makeup were so beautiful and soft, that it actually turned that sad premiere, until the crows attacked, into something really lovely. Every one of Moira’s looks juxtaposed with the actual reality of the town. The best part of that beautiful look to me was, after the premiere, when the Roses are back at the motel and the premiere has been a complete failure, you see them sitting on the bed in that sad, beige bedspread and she is wearing that dress.”
Whilst speaking about another outfit she wore, inspired by Liza Minnelli, she added: “I remember sitting in the makeup room, looking up Liza Minnelli photos from Cabaret. Moira’s really trying to survive in the moment. What’s great is that Moira’s not thinking, Let’s put a perfect Cabaret look together.
“It’s, What could Moira pull off in 10 minutes? I’m wearing one of Moira’s bed vests: my sleeping vests, with a broach. I didn’t realise until I looked at pictures that it was the first time I exposed my shoulders and arms in six years of doing the show, which made me feel all the more vulnerable.”
