Killing Eve beauty range?

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Killing Eve’ fans could soon be creating their own make-up looks inspired by its characters.
AMC Network and Sid Gentle Films have announced that IMG will be the exclusive consumer products licensing agent, allowing for fashion, beauty, travel and games products to be made.
Sherikay Chaffee, Vice President of licensing of IMG, said in a statement: “‘Killing Eve’ hits on multiple notes and nuances of human behaviour that naturally translate into licensing. Aside from being one of the most popular and loved shows on TV, it’s also one of the most clever and stylish. The dual aspect and opposing nature between its two lead characters can be used to tell a story about a product.”
Meanwhile, Jodie Comer – who plays assassin Villanelle in the show – wishes she was as “bold” in her outfit choices as her character, who is known for her strong sense of style.
She said: “I wish I was as bold as her. What I love about Villanelle is that she has a particular style. I feel like if you look through her wardrobe, there’s a definite theme running through it. I’m definitely a jeans girl, which I think she’s absolutely not … A big thing is trying to accept that, with acting, the reason for getting a part or not getting a part isn’t always about your talent or how talented people think you are; a lot of it is about your looks. Always worrying about the way you look or your weight for certain roles – that has always been a big insecurity of mine. I used to hate my teeth when I was younger.”

Nicolas Ghesquière’s hope for future fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicolas Ghesquière hopes the coronavirus pandemic will encourage fashion houses to change.
The creative director of Louis Vuitton doesn’t believe things will go back to how they did before the health crisis but is excited about a “step forward for the consciousness of this world” in the future.
He said: “I don’t think we’re going to go back to the way it was, I hope not. To be honest, it wasn’t right. And I hope this will be a step forward for the consciousness of this world.”
And the 49-year-old fashion designer was pleased to see the Black Lives Matter movement bringing to the forefront such a “rotten” situation so it can impact and inspire the future.
He added: “The Black Lives Matter movement is accelerating a situation that is rotten – and of course, that’s a good thing. You have to look around and question yourself: why don’t we have more diversity in general around us? Think twice, think three times.
“Who is surrounding you? Is it fair? You know what’s interesting – the most diversity you’ll find in fashion houses is usually in the ateliers. We have to look at that. There’s a lot to be done.”
Nicolas was happy to be “confronted” by change in the industry.
He told Vogue magazine: “I’ve enjoyed the acceleration, in a way, of subjects we are confronted by. Like overproduction of collections, showing prototypes, or sometimes just making more products. I enjoy the fact that now we can go straight to the point. Today, there is no question – you have to do the right thing, and that one thing has to have the right balance of being impactful and practical. Instead of making 10 things, you make one. In a way, to be confronted with that is pleasant.
“Now to be able to do less but better is quite enjoyable. That was [something] very positive about slowing down in the lockdown. There was a serenity that everyone was in the same rhythm — and to be less confronted with the stress of that world.”

Nike displays maternity mannequins

OHMYGOSSIP — Nike has launched its first-ever maternity sportswear range with maternity mannequins.
The fitness retailer released its latest collection for expectant mothers last week, and now the brand has displayed the clothes in its London flagship store with pregnant mannequins.
Nike created the four-piece collection, Nike M, for women throughout all stages of their pregnancy.
The collection features the Pullover, swoosh bra, tank and Nike One tights.
On the Nike site, they described the swoosh bra: “The Nike (M) Swoosh Bra is the first-ever Nike sports bra made especially for mothers. It’s designed with discrete layers to make time-outs for feeding or pumping a bit easier, with a special moisture-managing fabric for nursing.
“An adjustable slider on the band helps give you room to personalise your fit. This is a medium-support bra, so it’s great for sports like yoga, home or gym workouts and cycling. You’re a mother. And an athlete, too.”
The brand has worked hard on the fit, feel and function of the collection for three years and trialled 70 different materials before deciding on the final nine pieces.
Each item is made from 78 to 88 per cent of recycled polyester, and allows women to wear the pieces over or under their bump with functions that allow for easy breastfeeding and pumping without lasting milk stains.
Carmen Zolman, Nike Senior Design Director for Apparel Innovation said: “The more we listened to expecting mothers and postpartum mothers, the more we learned, reworked and innovated through inclusive design.
“It’s the project of a lifetime to work in lockstep with all kinds of mothers to bring to life a capsule that truly supports women’s relationship with sport during such a transformative time in their lives.”

Victoria Beckham launches Posh Spice lipstick

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham pays tribute to Posh Spice with latest beauty launch.
The 46-year-old singer – who was given the nickname as part of the Spice Girls in the 90s – is paying tribute to her past with a new lipstick from her beauty brand Victoria Beckham Beauty.
In a letter that was shared on VB Beauty, Victoria wrote: “I was given the name Posh in 1996 over lunch with Peter Loraine of Top of The Pops Magazine and the rest of the Spice Girls. I was young and shy, and being Posh helped me find my style and confidence, and my voice.
“After the Spice Girls, I distanced myself from the nickname because it had unwavering momentum of its own. Posh forever changed the course of my life, opening the door for me to go after my dreams. This week, I celebrate Posh with the launch of Posh Lipstick.”
However, the ‘2 Become 1’ hitmaker teased that there is more than one shade which each have their own special memory from her past.
She added: “Lipstick has always given me confidence when I needed it and extra spice when I already had it. Each shade is inspired by a specific memory, and whilst the moments may have been my own, the energy and emotion is shared by us all.”
Meanwhile, the Spice Girls are set to re-release their 2000 album, ‘Forever’, for the first time on vinyl.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the ‘Viva Forever’ group’s iconic farewell record, the only one not to feature Geri Horner (Ginger Spice), fans can get their hands on the collectable on November 20.
It comes with a gatefold sleeve, four collectable art prints and artwork designed just for the vinyl release.
The vinyl features chart-topping single, ‘Goodbye’, as well as ‘Holler’ and ‘Let Love Lead The Way’.
Band members Melanie C ( Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice) and Geri reunited last year for their headline tour in the UK and Ireland, without Victoria.

Gina Rodriguez doesn’t keep her red carpet outfits

OHMYGOSSIP — Gina Rodriguez has only ever kept one of her red carpet outfits.
The ‘Jane the Virgin’ star has been to many awards ceremonies over the years, but only held onto one of the gowns, the black Badgley Mischka dress she wore to the 2015 Golden Globes.
The only reason she held onto it was because she won the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV series.
She said: “I don’t keep anything. I always give [them] back. The only dress I’ve ever kept was my Golden Globe dress. “When I won in it, they said that I can keep it.”
However, the 36-year-old actress later gave away the dress to a high school student she spoke to on Twitter in 2016.
Gina also revealed she once had to be sewn into a dress after her stylist, Lauren Rodriguez, told her it didn’t fit.
They had just 10 minutes to fix the mishap before heading to the event.
She told PEOPLE: “Instead of using the zipper, my stylist just sewed me in. She was like, ‘This is what’s happening,’ 10 minutes before I left the house.
“I do remember her sewing me in and then un-sewing me out. Like ripping me out of the dress.”
Meanwhile, Gina previously insisted she is more than just her looks.
The ‘Scoob!’ shaved part of her hair for her role as Anya Thorensen in 2018’s ‘Annihilation’ but she wasn’t upset by the dramatic change in her appearance because it was important for her work and was insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
She said: “I am not my beauty. Who I am is not my f***ing hair, and to be an actor is to transform.
“To represent a community is to commit, to give my entire all. So if I’m going to represent Latinos in the industry and in art, if I’m going to represent my little cousins in Chicago, they’re going to know that I went full-out. Who are we afraid of? What are we afraid of? The worst thing that can happen is we die. Anything else you can handle.”

Kourtney Kardashian loves her ‘natural’ self

OHMYGOSSIP — Kourtney Kardashian feels most beautiful as her “natural” self.
The 41-year-old reality star has used her time in quarantine to focus on self-love and natural beauty, and now feels most comfortable without any makeup and untamed looks.
Asked when she feels the most beautiful, she told PEOPLE: “I love having no makeup on, [with] clean, fresh hair and skin, after a bath. Just natural me.
“When quarantine began and everything closed down, I actually really loved my eyebrows thicker and more natural, not so done looking, which I have since continued [doing] and love.”
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star took advantage of the coronavirus lockdown to start caring for her skin.
She explained: “I began oil cleansing my skin and doing gua sha every morning as a little me time ritual. It has transformed my skin.”
What’s more, Kourtney – who founded the lifestyle website Poosh in 2019 – is looking forward to taking her brand to the next level following the news the Kardashians and Jenner family’s E! reality show will end next year.
She said: “I have been doing it all along and am excited to continue with this focus. I love that I have Poosh as a place to share clean beauty.”
The star has also been working to change the US laws to stop various products being made with toxic chemicals as she says her beauty philosophy comes “from the inside-out.”
Kourtney expressed: “I really want the clean beauty laws changed so that we as consumers, don’t have to worry about how toxic our personal care products are. It affects everyone, not just makeup-wearing people.
“From babies and children to every person who uses deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. In my opinion, it is a much larger issue than it gets attention for.”

Jennifer Lopez’s Coach Hutton Bag is ‘glam and cool’ like her

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez wanted her first bag for Coach to be “glam and cool” like her.
The ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker has been the global ambassador of the label since 2019, and this week saw the singer-and-actress launch her very own The Coach x Jennifer Lopez Hutton Bag, which she designed with Creative Director Stuart Vevers.
Jennifer wanted to create a piece that represented her style.
She told Vogue: “Any compact bag that I can put over my shoulder and leave my hands free, it’s love at first sight for me. So I just really wanted the Jennifer Lopez Hutton bag to feel like me. “Glam and cool.”
The Hutton is made of calf leather and snakeskin and can be worn as a crossbody, shoulder bag, and even a waist bag.
Jennifer said in a statement: “Designing my first bag with Coach was a great experience.
“I really wanted the Coach x Jennifer Lopez Hutton to feel like me. The colorblock leather and polished hardware details are really my style. It’s a bag that makes me look pulled together and ready for anything, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
The 51-year-old superstar – who is set to receive the People’s Icon Award at this year’s E! People’s Choice Awards – also revealed that whenever she is putting together an outfit the most important thing is that everything is colour coordinated.
The ‘Second Act’ star said: “I like when things match, I think that’s my Bronx sensibility.
“Everything has to coordinate. I immediately think of this burgundy outfit that I have that would go great with these suede Balmain boots. There’s a Brunello Cucinelli loose shirt that I have too. I think in colour coordination more than anything.”
The Coach x Jennifer Lopez Hutton Bag comes with a price tag of $495.

Lady Gaga teases new beauty products

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga is launching a bronzer and blush for her beauty brand.
The 34-year-old singer launched Haus Laboratories last year, and now the star has teased two new additions called Head Rush and Heat Spell, which will be available to pre-order on October 6.
Gaga said in a statement: “I’ve always believed in the power of makeup to elevate self-love. These bronzer and blush duos are meant to celebrate the heat of your passion.
“We formulated them to be a silky powder, that leaves a clean buildable finish with rich, flirtatious hues and beaming highlighters. I’ve named them Heat Spell and Head Rush to indicate the ecstasy of celebrating you.”
The collection features five shades of bronzer and seven blushes to suit a wide range of skin tones and they’re paired with a complementary highlighter shade.
Haus Laboratories Global Artistry Director Sarah Tanno-Stewart told Refinery29: “We worked so hard on the formula, which has a very cushiony, velvety texture. You can get the lightest wash of colour if you want, or you can go full-on pigment and build it up. It will always look super soft on your skin — it’s not like you can really see the line of demarcation where the bronzer stops and the blush.”
The ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker released her beauty brand on Amazon in 2019 hoping the range will help her fans to express themselves and their “artistry”.
Speaking in a Haus Laboratories promotional video, she said: “The last thing the world needs is another beauty brand, but that’s too bad.
“They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but at Haus Laboratories we say beauty is how you see yourself. Your glam, your expression, your artistry. We want you to love yourself. Our haus, your rules.”
And taking to her own Instagram account, Gaga recalled when she “discovered the power of make-up” and watched her own mother, Cynthia Germanotta, paint her face every morning as a “hard working woman”.
She wrote: “When I was young, I never felt beautiful. And as I struggled to find a sense of both inner and outer beauty, I discovered the power of makeup.
“I remember watching my mother put her makeup on every morning, basking in the glow of her power to put on her bravest face as the hard working woman she was. I then began to experiment with makeup as a way to make my dreams of being as strong as my mother become true.(sic)”

Claudia Schiffer: Social media has had a major impact on the fashion industry

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Schiffer says social media has had a “huge impact” on the fashion industry.
The 50-year-old catwalk legend was one of the biggest supermodels in the world in the 90s and she is still working in the industry now with modelling, design and curation projects with Etre Cécile and Bordallo Pinheiro, whilst also being the face of Chanel’s J12 watch.
Claudia has seen a lot of changes throughout her decades in the industry, the biggest being the impact apps like Instagram and Twitter have had on the business.
Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald, she said: “Fundamentally the industry is the same, it’s just grown enormously. There are more collections, the pace is faster and social media has had a huge impact. It’s been great for marketing fashion and beauty products, as well as providing a very effective way to manage your own exposure, which you see particularly with the big models of today.”
However, Claudia – who has three children, Caspar, 17, Clementine, 15, and Cosima, 10, with her director husband Matthew Vaughn – does miss the days before social media when you weren’t expected to share every detail of your life online with your fans and followers.
She said: “What was great in the 90s, though, was not to feel the pressure to share everything with everybody; you could still have a private life and create a mystique. I miss that clear line of the public figure versus the private one. However, I do love sharing fashion moments of my life on Instagram.”
Claudia along with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Niki Taylor, Kate Moss and Helena Christensen were the most in-demand models in the world in the 90s and what the German icon remembers of that crazy time was that the girls were as famous as the world’s biggest rock stars.
Claudia is also proud of the fact that the ‘supers’ all looked out for each other and used their collective power to ensure they were always treated well on shoots and jobs.
Recalling that decade, she said: “It was insane. Like being a rock star. You couldn’t get to your car. We had security at every fashion show – even employed to guard my underwear! When I was out on the runway I’d come back and my underwear would constantly be gone.
“We were on the cover of every magazine and in every campaign. We lived and breathed it and we developed unprecedented control over our careers. Although we could be competitive, there was a lot of camaraderie between us too. We looked out for each other and we weren’t afraid to speak up. If somebody had a bad experience, we would call everyone and say, ‘By the way, this just happened.’ We thought, ‘We have the power all together and we should use it, because this is wrong.’ We made things change.”

She captioned the post: “Nothing REAL can be threatened.
oh yeah and remember when I said I was collaborating with @fashionnova to make jeans for tall women. These are the first samples coming soon. (sic)”
There’s no official word on when the line will be released.
The 25-year-old rapper is making a name for herself in the fashion industry, having already starred in Coach’s Spring 2021 campaign, as well as the designer label’s holiday launch last year, alongside the likes of Yara Shahidi, Fernanda Ly, Kate Moss and Miles Heizer.
Meanwhile, it’s thanks to their mutual friends in the fashion industry that Cardi B and Megan came to collaborate on their mega-hit, ‘WAP’.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker revealed how their respective wardrobe stylists put them in contact with each other.
She shared recently: “My stylist, my wardrobe stylist, he linked up with her wardrobe stylist and they were like, ‘You know, we were having such a good time and we were talking about you guys. Yo, when are you guys ever going to link up? What’s going on? What’s good?'”

ASAP Rocky, Iggy Pop and Tyler, The Creator star in Gucci tailoring campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — A$AP Rocky, Iggy Pop and Tyler, The Creator star in Gucci’s new tailoring campaign.
The rappers and rock legend shared a pot of spaghetti for the visuals and video, in which animal-lover Iggy rocks a stylish double-breasted leopard print suit.
The ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ singer is joined by his cockatoo Biggy Pop in the promo, as he sits at his desk and awaits the arrival of the hip-hop superstars.
The pair then turn up in a vintage Rolls-Royce, with Tyler sporting a green sweater vest and Rocky a coat fit for fall.
According to a press release “their shared love of panache creates common ground.”
The images and video were shot by Harmony Korine on location at a Californian mansion in February.
As per GQ, the fashion house’s creative director, Alessandro Michele said: “The result is a group campaign with three men who I believe had fun too. There is always this image of eccentricity, because they are in fact eccentric themselves. A certain type of fun is also portrayed and the idea of how one’s obsession with appearances can create a kind of common ground that can become a sort of brotherhood. It was beautiful to see these three men together, seemingly different but very similar.”
The Italian designer says with this campaign and going forward he wants to show men can be elegant too.
Michele added: “This is another chapter of this journey. With these campaigns, I am working on different ways of being elegant and these three men embody this idea perfectly. I like to tell the story of elegance in completely arbitrary and unexpected ways. Perhaps elegance is something in the air that sometimes you are not even ready for. Male elegance can be unpredictable and strange.”

Letitia Wright: I’m re-evaluating how I love myself

OHMYGOSSIP — Letitia Wright is re-evaluating the way she loves herself.
The 26-year-old actress put herself under a massive amount of mental strain when she first found fame in her late teens by analysing every detail of herself, but now she is taking a step back to learn how to appreciate herself better.
Speaking to ELLE magazine, she said: “I think back-to-back years of living the same way and thinking the same thoughts and the pressure I would put on myself … I remember analysing every single thing.
“If I went on a red carpet, I’d analyse the picture. If I did an interview, I’d analyse the video. If I spent time with friends, after I left, I’d think to myself, ‘Why did I laugh like that, why did I show teeth.’ It was just back-to-back.”
It was through her faith in Christianity, and joining the church in 2015 when she was 22 years old, that she began “another layer” of self-acceptance.
She continued: “I started to realise that, you know, it’s not about me, it’s not about how much people can validate me and I started to see the power of God and not the power of man.
“I’m on another layer of a self-love journey, taking a step back to re-evaluate loving myself even better than I did a year ago.”

Lizzo freaked out by beauty filters

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo has “freaked” herself out using filters on social media.
The 32-year-old singer took to her Instagram Story to slam the app for creating filters that promote unrealistic beauty standards, and reassured fans that they don’t need to cover up their natural beauty with the help of a filter.
Whilst using a filter, she told fans: “Look at this y’all, these filters freak me out! If you’re watching this I want you to know you got that no-filter beauty.
“The beauty that these filters give you is a nice thing — it’s cute, but if your skin don’t look like this, if your nose don’t look like this, if your lips don’t look like this, if your eyes don’t look like this — that’s OK.”
She ended the video by moving her face close to the camera to reveal her no-filter face, saying: “But y’all, I look like this.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker is known as an advocate for inclusivity, and has hit out at the way body positivity has become a “commercialised” movement that no longer advocates for curvier body types.
She said: “Now, you look at the hashtag ‘body positive,’ and you see smaller-framed girls, curvier girls. Lotta white girls. And I feel no ways about that, because inclusivity is what my message is always about. I’m glad that this conversation is being included in the mainstream narrative.
“What I don’t like is how the people that this term was created for are not benefiting from it. Girls with back fat, girls with bellies that hang, girls with thighs that aren’t separated, that overlap. Girls with stretch marks. You know, girls who are in the 18-plus club. They need to be benefiting from … the mainstream effect of body positivity now. But with everything that goes mainstream, it gets changed. It gets – you know, it gets made acceptable.”
