Hands off! Anne-Marie wont’ let anyone touch her eyebrows

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie “won’t let anyone touch” her eyebrows.
The British pop star is “very intensely proud” of her brows after trying out various different shapes growing up, including the 90s trend of having them extremely thinly plucked, and she doesn’t want anyone messing with them.
She said: “I definitely followed the trends when I was younger, when it was a thing to pluck your eyebrows really thin – I did that. Oh, I had tadpoles and a straight line – both! It’s cool now because you can recreate the look by covering real brows with foundation and glue, then drawing them on, but back then you actually had to pluck your eyebrows into that shape. After that, I decided to grow my eyebrows and now I’m very intensely proud and won’t let anyone touch them.”
The ‘Come Over’ singer also revealed that she does her own make-up on tour because it’s part of her self-care routine.
She added to Vogue: “I do my own make-up on tour and that’s always my time to just chill and have a moment with myself. When you do your make-up every morning that’s your spa moment of the day, and I think it’s important to take that time to do it for yourself. I now realise that it’s not selfish to look after yourself – if you’re not happy, you can’t make others feel happy either. Doing anything to make yourself feel special, whether it’s a massage or a spa once a month, makes the world of difference.”
The pink-haired star also spoke about the importance of normalising having spots by not using filters on social media.
She said: “Because I’ve struggled a bit on social media, whenever I have spots I post a story and show people that. As soon as you see these things, it becomes normal. I follow lots of women who aren’t scared to show their real bodies – they’re in bikinis and showing their cellulite and belly rolls and I’m like ‘wow’. That makes me want to go out and not worry about what people think because that’s actually what’s real.”

Prince Charles jokes he dresses ‘like a stopped clock’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has quipped that he dresses “like a stopped clock”.
The 71-year-old heir to the British throne has opened up about his fashion sense and sustainability and how he likes to repair his clothes to keep his carbon footprint down.
When praised for his style during an interview with British Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, the climate change activist joked: “I thought I was like a stopped clock – I’m right twice every 24 hours. But … I’m very glad you think it has style. I mind about detail and colour combinations. I’m lucky because I can find marvellous people who are brilliant makers of the things that I appreciate, and because of that, I try to keep them going for longer.”
The Prince of Wales – who is married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall – believes there is a huge market for small businesses to open up repair and maintenance services.
He said: “I happen to be one of those people who’d get shoes – or any item of clothing – repaired if I can, rather than just throw it away.
“And that’s why I think, from an economic point of view, there are huge opportunities for people to set up small businesses involved with repair, maintenance and reuse.”
Charles – who has sons Prince William, 38, and Prince Harry, 36, with late ex-wife Princess Diana – has recently co-founded the Modern Artisan with students, which is set to launch a sustainable fashion collection.
And he spoke of the importance of investing in the younger generation in the fashion sector and working to make “throwaway clothing” a thing of the past for the sake of the planet.
He admitted: “The British fashion textile sector is of enormous importance. But the trouble is, it requires constant investment in young people and in the development of real skills … But it seems to me there are huge opportunities, particularly now, within the whole sustainable fashion sector, to counter this extraordinary trend of throw-away clothing – or throwaway everything, frankly.”

Helena Christensen releasing 90s inspired clothing collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Helena Christensen has teamed up with Anine Bing to launching a 1990s-inspired clothing line.
The 51-year-old Danish supermodel – who was one of the biggest catwalk stars of that decade – has worked with the designer, who is also from Denmark, to create an 11-piece capsule collection that is directly influenced by the style of that era,
Helena admits she only has “amazing” memories of that time and thinks the fashion for women during the 90s was unique and “powerful”.
Speaking to WWD, she said: “It was such a great time period for fashion. I only had amazing experiences from that time. I feel that the way women dressed at that time had a powerful feeling to it. There was a businesswoman aspect but in a laid-back way.”
The collection is to be released on November 10 and is comprised of T-shirts, tailoring, jeans, a bodysuit and a silk jumpsuit, and is priced from $99 (£75) to $499 (£380).
Helena and Anine worked on the range for over a year and overcame any challenges of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic by having meetings over Zoom and visiting each other at their homes.
Discussing the creative process, Helena said: “We just both brainstormed ideas of our own personal style and found a middle ground of what could work for both of us.”
Anine added: “She’s a little more experimental, a little more bohemian, relaxed in a way. I’m maybe a little more classic, but I also love rock ‘n’ roll. We tried to tie those two together.
“It’s been a super tough year for all of us, right, including myself. It’s been a wild year and a rollercoaster and super hard. I have many days being home crying, trying to figure out how to do this. And also being a mom, you know, doing homeschooling while designing and trying to run this company with so many employees.
“With that said, my goal with designing is to empower women, and I think that’s more important than ever that we feel strong and confident and believe in ourselves and be here for a better change.
“So, hopefully with this collaboration and my whole collection in general, I hope and think I will continue to empower women and feel like their best version of themselves during this crazy time. I’m a positive person, and I try to look positive on everything, even though it can be hard.”

Zoe Kravitz is so ‘proud’ her dad Lenny Krazitz is part of the YSL family

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Kravitz is delighted that her father Lenny Kravitz is now part of the YSL family along with her.
‘The Batman’ actress has been a YSL Beauty brand ambassador since 2016 and her 56-year-old rock star dad joined Yves Saint Laurent in September as the face of YSL Beauty’s Y Eau de Parfum fragrance.
Zoe, 31, is “proud” to have him as part of the brand and thinks his advertisement is “great”.
In an interview with Refinery29, she said: “I think it’s so cool. We have both loved the brand so much, both the beauty and the fashion side of things. I love that it has happened in a really organic way. I’m proud of him and his ad is great, I love it. We’re keeping it in the family.”
Since signing with YSL, Zoe has appeared in in advertising campaigns for the Black Opium fragrance several new make-up products.
In 2019, the ‘Big Little Lies’ star – whose mother is former ‘Cosby Show’ actress Lisa Bonet – got her own branded product, the YSL x Zoe Kravitz line which features six new shades of YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks.
Lenny previously admitted that it was a wonderful experience to be able to follow in his daughter’s footsteps in the fashion world.
The ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’ hitmaker said: “The really exciting part for me is that I got to follow in my daughter’s footsteps. That’s a wonderful thing as a parent to be able to do. Not only them follow your footsteps, but you follow theirs.”

Priyanka Chopra couldn’t ‘breathe’ in dress at 2018 Met Gala

OHMYGOSSIP — Priyanka Chopra was barely able to breathe during the 2018 Met Gala because the corset she was wearing was so tight.
The ‘Baywatch’ actress turned heads on the red carpet at the exclusive New York event that year, which was themed ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’, when she stepped out in a maroon and gold velvet dress by Ralph Lauren complete with an intricate gold beaded hood.
The dress – which was embroidered in her home country, India – took 250 hours to make and was adorned with crystals and beadwork, but although she looked incredible, Priyanka was actually in a lot of discomfort due to how tight the corset was.
Speaking to PEOPLE in 10, she recalled: “My second Met Gala outfit was this blood-red Ralph Lauren beautiful outfit with the gold hood. But the corset under that thing, I couldn’t breathe. I felt like it reshaped my ribs. So hard to sit during dinner and I obviously couldn’t eat too much during that night.”
It is not the only wardrobe malfunction Priyanka has suffered in her career.
Back in 2000 when she was crowned the winner of Miss World, the 38-year-old star was reduced to having to hold up the gown she was wearing with her hand because the tape that had been used to attach it had lost it’s adhesive due to her sweating so much under the hot lights.
Priyanka – who is married to musician Nick Jonas – said: “The year 2000 and I won Miss World, my dress was taped on to me. By the time I won at the end I was sweating so much because it was so stressful that the entire tape came off.
“The whole time while I was doing my walk or whatever when I won, I kept my hands like this in a namaste, which people thought was a namaste but actually was holding my dress up. So uncomfortable!”

Emma Roberts wore all vintage and thrifted pieces in Holidate

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Roberts wore all vintage and thrifted pieces in her Netflix film ‘Holidate’.
The flick’s costumer designer, Helen Huang, has explained that she wanted the actress’ alter ego Sloane to standout with her wardrobe to “emphasise” the fact that she’s “not like every other rom-com girl”.
Helen told Insider: “Sloane is the type of character who might have a really great vintage T-shirt collection or a cool 1960s leopard coat, but she would still lounge around the house in her high school sweats.
“I would bring [Roberts] these little pieces that I found from all around.”
She continued: “I didn’t want people to be able to tell immediately where she got all of her stuff, and I think that’s what makes Sloane so special. She’s not the type of character to wear a one-brand, head-to-toe look.”
For Sloane’s Valentine’s Day look, the inspiration came from a pair of Juicy Couture sweat pants from the early 2000s that Emma still had in her own wardrobe.
Helen said: ”[Roberts] actually had a pair of Juicy Couture pants from the early 2000s, so we took inspiration from that.”
In another scene, she wore a floral Moschino cardigan, which the stylist found on The Outnet.
She said: “I was scrolling and trying to look for something special, and I found this Moschino sweater.
”I thought: ‘It could either be really good or really bad,’ but I love that line. It ended up being perfect on [Roberts].”
And on why she didn’t pick the latest trends to style Sloane in, she added: “I wanted to emphasise that Sloane is not like every other rom-com girl — where she’s sad and then she’s happy, and she has two totally different wardrobes for each — because I feel like that’s not a real representation of women.”

Burberry partners with Marcus Rashford to fund youth initiatives

OHMYGOSSIP — Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has joined forces with Burberry to launch a series of initiatives to help disadvantaged young people.
The British fashion house is providing grants for Norbrook Youth Club and Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Centre, two youth centres in Manchester that Rashford attended as a child.
Alongside these youth centres, Burberry is contributing to Wide Rainbow, a non-profit based in New York City providing access to the arts and arts education in neighbourhoods across the United States with little to no resources. The donation will provide art supplies, food deliveries and music education to young people in these communities as well as fund the creation of art murals to invigorate schools and shelters in New York and Los Angeles.
To further the international reach of this work, Burberry is partnering with the International Youth Foundation to contribute to the Global Youth Resiliency Fund. This will enable young entrepreneurs and community leaders, especially in Asia, to develop solutions to challenges including closing nutrition gaps and unlocking access to livelihoods.
In London, Burberry is working with London Youth, which supports a network of over 600 community youth organisations and creates thousands of engaging opportunities for young people each year. Fifteen youth centres jointly selected by Burberry and London Youth will receive grants to ensure their programmes can continue to make a positive impact in some of London’s most deprived communities.
To launch the initiative, the 22-year-old England forward has written an open-letter to his 10-year-old self which highlights the major role that his community and youth centres played in his life as he was growing up and trying to make it as a professional footballer.
The letter reads: “Your community will prove to be the most special extension of your family. When you fall, which you will, there will always be neighbours and friends to catch you. There is no need to feel ashamed because they will catch you without
judgment and comment. No questions asked. Feel the warmth of those around you and know that one day, you are
going to have the platform to repay them. For a young boy who says so little, one day you will have a voice that
speaks for many.
“One day you will have a lot of things you never dreamt of owning, but never forget that stability and consistency are two
of the most valuable things you will ever experience. The youth centres that you visit today on a Monday, Wednesday
and Friday, will prove to be central to all of the greatest gifts you receive in life – your friendships, your discipline, your
respect, and compassion for others.”
Commenting on Burberry’s charitable collaboration with Rashford, Pam Batty – vice-president of corporate responsibility at Burberry – said: “We believe, especially now, it is so important to help them empower the emerging change-makers of tomorrow and continue their efforts to sustain and protect the vulnerable.”
In recent months, Burberry has provided donations for COVID-19 vaccine research, donated 160,000 pieces of PPE and turned a Yorkshire factory which makes the label’s trademark trench coats into one to make non-surgical gowns for medics and care workers.
Burberry also made a donation to FareShare, the Rashford-endorsed food distribution charity.

Jourdan Dunn’s son feared she’d be killed in America

OHMYGOSSIP — Jourdan Dunn’s son urged her not to go to America because he feared she’d be killed because she’s black.
The 30-year-old English model admitted it is “upsetting” that she has to have such frank conversations about race with 11-year-old Riley because it isn’t a subject that white parents have to tackle with their kids.
She said: “It’s hard for him. They talk about things at school and he hears things on the radio, so he’s very aware of what’s going on in the world, but he doesn’t quite understand it. He’s, like, ‘But why is this happening to black people?
“One time, when he was about seven, he was, like, ‘Mummy, I don’t want you to go to America any more. They just kill black people. It’s not safe for you.’
“I thought, ‘Oh, wow.’ It’s upsetting that we need to have these conversations when someone who is not black or brown doesn’t need to have them.”
In the summer, Jourdan shared an open letter which she’d written to Riley on the subject, and she was initially unsure whether he’d understand the outpouring of her thoughts.
But when she did, they shared a “nice” emotional moment together.
In an interview with The Times Weekend magazine, she said: “I was thinking, ‘Do I read it to Riley now? Is he going to understand it?’ In the end, a couple of days before it was published, I read it to him at dinner. He got really teary-eyed and just came around the table and gave me a big hug and said, ‘Thank you,’ and, ‘I appreciate you.’ He got emotional and I got emotional — it was really nice. He’s a smart kid and he got the gist of it.”
Jourdan thinks the fashion industry is getting “better” at becoming more diverse, but still feels there’s a lot of work to do.
She said: “With social media you can speak about things, so there’s more awareness.
“ I am seeing a lot more black faces and brown faces on sets; not just models, but people doing all the other jobs, which is very important. Like, last month I worked with three black photographers back to back — that’s unheard of. So things are definitely getting better. But I’ve been saying for the past 10 years there’s a lot more to be done.”

Emerald Fennell ‘obsessed’ with clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Emerald Fennell is “obsessed” with clothes.
The ‘Crown’ actress is currently only wearing casual attire because she knows her “sexy” garments and high-heeled shoes aren’t suitable for running everyday errands, though she loves getting new glamorous garments.
She told Stella magazine of her style: “Mostly it’s jeans at the moment. I am obsessed with clothes. I have a wardrobe full of heels and sexy clothes, but I’m not going to go to Starbucks in platforms.’
Emerald’s dream wardrobe includes garments from Gucci, “sexy milkmaid dresses” from Gül Hürgel and her own sister’s label, Coco Fennell.
She said: “It sounds like cheating, because she is my sister, but nobody does flattering like she does.”
But the ‘Killing Eve’ showrunner admitted she gets “lazy” with her appearance when she’s in America.
She laughed: “I got even lazier when I got to LA. The people there are the most beautiful you’ve ever seen, so a bit of Rimmel eyeliner is not going to cut it.”
Emerald’s parents are upmarket jeweller Theo Fennell – whose clients include Sir Elton John, Elizabeth Hurley and Ronnie Wood – and author Louise Fennell, and she recalled how “glamorous” they always were when she was growing up.
She said: “Joan [Collins], yes, she was around. Every cell of her is iconic, a proper star. There was a tiny bit of that, but it mostly happened when we were asleep.
“Mum and Dad were so glamorous. I remember them getting ready to go to parties; Mum would have an amazing beehive, and wear Dad’s gold jewellery, a Versace dress and would smell of Chanel No 5. I just thought, ‘That is so cool.’ ”

Beyonce’s fashion escape

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce used fashion as an “escape” during lockdown.
The ‘Formation’ hitmaker – who has Blue Ivy, eight, and twins Rumi and Sir, three, with husband Jay-Z – enjoyed setting aside a day every week for herself and her kids to get dressed up and pose for pictures while quarantining at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, and the “tradition” they established was a big influence on her new Ivy Park collection.
She told Britain’s Vogue magazine: “During quarantine, fashion was a place of escape for me. My kids and I came up with Fashion Fridays. Every Friday, we would dress up in my clothes or make clothes together and take each other’s pictures.
“It became a ritual for us and an opportunity to handle this crazy year together.
“The newest Ivy Park collection was inspired by this new tradition. It consciously uses bright, bold colours to remind us to smile. I used a lot of neon yellow and coral mixed with baby blue and earth tones that felt soothing.
“They brought me joy and made me smile in the midst of a tough time for all of us.”
The 38-year-old singer wanted the collection to be “fun, functional and fashionable” and versatile enough to be worn for any occasion, as well as being “infinitely inclusive” for everyone.
She said: “Ivy Park is all in the details, and fit is extremely important – the waistline falling at just the right spot to be flattering to the body, extra stretch panels across the stomach to give you a flatter tummy. Sporty suiting is a staple, and oversized coats in cool, lightweight fabrics round it out.
“My vision for the collection is that it is fun, functional and fashionable, with athletic options that you can wear to the gym, then to the night club, from playing basketball to vogueing at the balls. The goal is to be infinitely inclusive from style to size.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West is set to launch a new candle inspired by her KKW X Kris Fragrance.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star has announced her next candle will be inspired by the perfume she released named after her mom Kris Jenner last year.
She tweeted: “I’m so excited to introduce the new KKW X KRIS candle, a beautiful scent for the home inspired by our best selling
@KKWFRAGRANCE collaboration that we launched earlier this year. The gorgeous scent really fills a room and is designed to compliment any home.”
The KKW x Kris candle will be available for a limited period, launching to mark Kris’ birthday on Thursday (05.11.20).
The KKW Beauty and SKIMS owner added: “The limited edition candle will be available on my mom’s birthday, 11.05 at 12PM PT, exclusively at http://KKWFRAGRANCE.COM #KKWxKRIS (sic)”
The candle comes in a mushroom colour and a description of the scent reads: “A timeless white floral bouquet with tuberose, fresh freesia and lustrous tagete mingled with a splashy Aperol Spritz Accord, creamy cashmere woods and golden amber.”
In a statement, Kim said: “When we created the KKW x Kris fragrance and received such positive feedback from consumers, I thought the notes would make a perfect candle for the fall and winter seasons.
“The fragrance really fills a room, and I’m excited to launch it in honour of my mom’s birthday to celebrate the time we spent developing the KKW x Kris scent.”
And the candle has already been given the seal of approval of the momager, who added: “Creating my first fragrance with Kim was such a fun, new experience for me.
“I was so excited when Kim told me she wanted to make it into a candle and I already have a few burning throughout my house.

Shay Mitchell shares her ‘simple’ 10-minute make-up routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Shay Mitchell trades foundation for concealer and contour when she’s doing her own “simple” make-up.
The 33-year-old actress has kick-started her new Get Ready With Me IGTV series over on Instagram by showing her 29 million followers how she does her face in 10 minutes when she’s not filming or having her glam done.
First, she explained that: “I have on some sunscreen and eye cream, and I used a lip exfoliator, too.
“I’ve ‘set the base,’ as I call it.”
Shay then went in with her concealer of choice, Beautyblender’s Bounce Airbrush Liquid Whip Concealer.
She then used the It Cosmetics All Over Powder Brush, before she applied Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate Palette contour colour.
After adding a creamy blush and bronzer, the former ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star then showed viewers how she does her eyebrows.
And Shay used Kelly Baker’s Brow Defining Pencil to fill in sparse areas and then some setting spray on a spooly to set them.
She quipped: “I’m honestly not trying to make them look like twins — just related.”
On why she used the mist to set her brows, she added: “It really gives a laminated effect without actually lamenting them.”
Shay showing how she does her make-up without foundation comes after she previously revealed she used to struggle to find a shade suitable for “darker complexions”.
The ‘Dollface’ star would have no choices but to create her own “concoction” of dark and light colours to match her skin’s shade before make-up became more inclusive and diverse.
She said: “Back in the day, when I didn’t have a choice, it was a little bit more difficult. I have a darker complexion, and I had trouble finding concealers and foundations that worked for me. I would make up my own concoction and take the dark-pigmented stuff and mix it with lighter ones to get my shade.
“Now there are more options, and I’m working with the best of the best, so I’m not scared to try new things.”

Natalia Vodianova: Sport and movement is vital for me

OHMYGOSSIP — Natalia Vodianova says “sport and movement” have been “vital” for getting her through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 38-year-old supermodel – who has just launched new sleep meditation app, Loóna – has shared how she has coped during lockdown amid the global health crisis and said exercise, especially walking and yoga, and cooking for her family have eased the strain.
Speaking to Vogue, Natalia – who has Maxim, six, and Roman, four, with husband Antoine Arnault and Lucas, 18, Neva, 14, and Viktor, 13, with first husband Justin Portman – said: “I hadn’t cooked for maybe 15 years when Covid-19 hit. Although I wouldn’t describe it as a passion, I started cooking from the age of six and I’m not bad at it. I’m comfortable in the kitchen and I feel deeply purposeful when I cook for my family as I was every day during lockdown — it’s beautiful when they need you in that way.
“Sport and movement are vital for me whether it be walking, hiking, Pilates, yoga or sometimes the gym. I love biking around the city with my children and being outside in nature. My 14-year-old daughter Neva has my bug for walking — she’s disciplined and will wake up 45 minutes earlier so she can walk to school.”
And when it comes to looking after her mental health, the Russian beauty is “good at letting go”.
She explained: “I’ve always been good at letting go. At the beginning of the year, everything looked so busy, charged and exciting. Then lockdown came, and for the next six months, everything was cancelled. I was at home with my family — that was the positive side. Like everyone, I feel stress and anxiety about the future, even the day-to-day. No one knows how bad this virus is going to get.
“Sometimes cancelling one event or saying no to something feels like the hardest thing to do because everyone tells you it’s important. Ultimately, I’ve learned there are other ways to address these needs and opportunities, and I don’t need to travel as much. I can be just as effective working from home, close to my family, in Paris.”
