Doja Cat teases ‘business-y and sexy’ PrettyLittleThing collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Doja Cat has teased that her upcoming PrettyLittleThing collection is both “business-y and sexy”.
The ‘Say So’ hitmaker has joined forces with the fast fashion brand for her own line, which is expected to drop in April 2021, and she has revealed the kind of vibe she was going for.
Speaking to WWD.com, she said: “It’s very business-y but intertwined with sexy. You go straight from work to the club kind of vibe.”
The 25-year-old singer created her own edit ahead of the pieces launching next spring and wanted to choose styles that “inspired” her.
She said: “I chose what inspired me the most, and I feel like this collection is kind of a hint to the next collection.”
Doja also explained that the difference between the edit and the collection is that: “In the spring, it’s going to be more evolved and more colorful.”
Meanwhile, the ‘To Be Young’ star revealed she would totally wear her bedazzled sheer Givenchy gown she rocked to the MTV European Music Awards last week to the grocery store.
She said: “Honestly, side note, I’d wear that dress to the grocery store. I’d wear it everywhere. I’d wear it to sleep.”
Elsewhere, Doja said it has been a “strange” experience becoming a global star amid the pandemic, with her biggest performances and awards shows happening virtually this year and she admitted it will feel weird when everything does go back to normal because she’s so used to doing everything remotely.
She said: “It’s strange. It really all started to unfold during COVID-19. “The biggest performances that I’ve had have happened during COVID-19, right at the beginning of it, so it’s not like I can really say, you know, it’s so much more different now, because the interesting part is this is all I really know, as far as doing big names, big platforms, award shows and things like that. It’s cool, but I’m a little worried what it’s going to feel like when all of this is over.”

Venus Williams named global ambassador for K-Swiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Venus Williams has become a global brand ambassador for K-Swiss.
The 40-year-old Olympic gold medalist is the face of the tennis apparel and footwear brand’s ‘Club K-Swiss’ campaign, and has also co-designed her own limited edition capsule collection by K-Swiss and her own EleVen by Venus Williams activewear and lifestyle brand.
The 12-piece collection – which is available now over on kswiss.com – includes a varsity sweater, tank top, striped leggings, a hoodie, and jogging bottoms, plus the K-Swiss Classic 66x EleVen by Venus Williams shoe.
Venus – who launched her lifestyle venture back in 2007 – told WWD: “K-Swiss is such an iconic brand both on and off the court, and I saw a lot of synergy with my own lifestyle brand, EleVen by Venus Williams. Both brands celebrate boldness, especially of women, and I was excited to collaborate on what turned out to be a really special, unique and exciting collection. It’s different from anything else out there right now. I think people will love it.”
As well as mixing bold colour combinations, Venus insisted it was important to create pieces that are “functional” to “support the highest level of performance”.
She said: “We wanted this to be a marriage between the two brand styles, so we took classic looks but used surprising design elements to make them eye-catching. We added in a beautiful mint green amongst traditional blues and grey or experimented with unique plaid patterns to make sure it was a combination of both brands.
“Of course the look of the pieces is important, but they also needed to be functional and be able to support the highest level of performance.”
And the sports star admitted she has felt “more confident” wearing the collection during her training session on the court and hailed the capsule a “total game-changer”.
She added: “I’m already wearing the K-Swiss x EleVen by Venus Williams capsule collection on the court during training, and I can attest to the fact that it is a total game-changer. Like my other EleVen collections, this one was designed for high-level performance so I trust that it will be able to keep up with every forehand, backhand, volley, cross-court sprint — you name it, and I know any EleVen outfit can handle it.
“These pieces are as functional as they are fashionable and when I compete, I want to look and feel my best. I definitely feel more confident when I wear our designs, and this K-Swiss x EleVen by Venus Williams collection is no exception.”
Gabriella Gomez, global marketing director at K-Swiss, commented: “As an athlete and entrepreneur her entire career, Venus Williams is a natural partner for K-Swiss. Venus is a true visionary, but she doesn’t stop at the creative work, she’s actively involved in every other element of business as well. Together we are curating the concept of ‘tennis as a lifestyle,’ and the collections we are building on are designed for ambitious women with an ath-leisure twist.”

Diane von Furstenberg announes H+M Home line

OHMYGOSSIP — Diane von Furstenberg has teamed up with H&M Home for a new homewear collection.
The 73-year-old fashion designer is “thrilled” to have been able to channel her “passion for interiors” into her new line for the high street retailer and said her aim was to make people “take charge of their home decor”.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with H&M Home, especially since I have such a passion for interiors.
“The home is both a relaxing and empowering place where you can really ‘own’ a look or feel. With this collaboration, I want people to take charge of their home decor. The only rule I have is that your home should reflect who you are. The main point is to create a space that you’re incredibly comfortable in and is a true expression of your personality.”
Every piece in the collection, which includes cushions, blankets, candles, and vases, exudes the Belgian designer’s distinct style.
The line is expected to be launched in 2021.
It’s not the first time Diane has released an interiors collection, as she previously released a homewear collection under her eponymous DVF brand.
She previously said: “Designing for the home has much in common with fashion. Both clothes and home decoration are ways of projecting yourself. Both need to be practical.
“An interior has to be inviting, reassuring, happy, and pleasant, but most important, it should be comfortable.”

‘There’s still a long way to go’: Leigh-Anne Pinnock on diversity in fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Leigh-Anne Pinnock says there’s still “a long way to go” before the fashion industry is fully inclusive.
The Little Mix star made it her priority to ensure her own brand In‘A’SeaShell and her new ASOS Edit is as diverse as possible.
And while she has seen some progress in the fashion business, the pop star says there is a lot more work to be done to represent people of colour.
She told GLAMOUR UK: “I definitely feel like there has been progress. But there is a long way to go, especially in the fashion industry. I think that is why I made a conscious decision with my brand, In‘A’SeaShell to make sure it was diverse because I don’t see it enough. Even when I turn on the TV now, I see more black people on screen so there is progress there and slowly I am seeing it but there is still a long way to go, 100 percent.”
The ‘Sweet Melody’ hitmaker also refuses to work with brands who don’t cater to every body shape and size.
She said: “I would never represent a brand that didn’t represent different shapes and sizes. Every body is a perfect body. Perfection doesn’t exist. Perfection is whoever you are because however you were made was perfect. You don’t need to change for anyone. The more representation there is, the better.”
Little Mix – which also comprises of Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards – have been scrutinised for their skimpy stage outfits over the years, but Leigh-Anne, 29, insisted they are “grown ass women” and they “deserve to be sexy”.
She said: “We are so used to it. We just ignore it now because if you want to wear something you bloody wear it. We are at that point now where we don’t care, we don’t read the comments, we wear what we feel comfortable in, we wear what makes us feel good. We are grown ass women and we deserve to be sexy!”

The ‘Happy’ hitmaker’s Humanrace line was developed with his longtime dermatologist, Dr. Elena Jones, and is set to launch on November 25.
The 47-year-old music star – who has an ageless complexion – says he created ‘The Three-Minute Facial’, which is both vegan and fragrance-free, with people’s hectic lives in mind, as all it requires is “three minutes morning and night”.
Pharrell said in a press release: “I wanted to share my 20 years of skincare experience and education through this product and routine. It’s created to take three minutes morning and night. Your face is the result of the spirit behind it, it’s important to take care of your skin and to also take time for yourself each day.”
The products include a Rice Powder Cleanser, Lotus Enzyme Exfoliator, Humidifying Cream, and a Routine Pack.
What’s more, the packaging is made from 50% post-consumer recycled plastic and has a removable chamber that can be refilled.
The all-gender products are also made for every skin type.
Pharrell explained: “Humanrace Skincare doesn’t differentiate by race or gender. We’re creating for humans; we are all born in the same skin and Humanrace celebrates this.”
Dr. Elena, who has been Pharrell’s dermatologist for 20 years, added: “This routine is formulated from Pharrell’s skincare experience and we wanted to choose ingredients that are clean, effective and friendly for all skin types. We adhered to the European standard of 1,300 banned ingredients as an important starting point and then we went further to develop our own restrictions. We worked to create products that had no rocks, nuts, seeds, or plastic particles in our formulas to ensure no micro-tears occur which can result in damaging your skin.”
The Humanrace skincare line launches via humanrace.com on November 25.

John Legend has a vast collection robes just like his wife Chrissy Teigen

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend is a lover of robes just like his wife Chrissy Teigen.
The ‘All of Me’ hitmaker has revealed his quarantine staple has been a cosy dressing gown and admitted his 34-year-old model spouse’s love of robes brushed off on him, as she gets him a new one every birthday and Christmas.
He said: “Actually, I wear a lot of robes too.
“I’m known to wear quite a few robes myself. Usually Chrissy will buy me a new robe for every holiday or as a birthday gift or something. My birthday is right around the holidays, so it all kind of melds together. So she usually gets me robes for my birthday. And I love wearing those around the house. Tom Ford make some really good ones that I wear.”
The 41-year-old singer – who is a Global Ambassador for the brand Sperry – admitted he’s never looked up to anyone for style inspiration, but loves a good designer piece from the likes of Alexander McQueen and Gucci.
He said: “I never have a good answer when asked whose style I admire because I never really look to anybody else for fashion inspiration.
“I think, more than anything, I’m always intrigued and excited to see what the great designers are doing.”
John added to PEOPLE: “You can tell which ones I like by which ones I end up wearing a lot.
“So I’ve worn a lot of Alexander McQueen, for instance. And a lot of Paul Smith and a lot of Gucci over the years. And there’s some young designers I’ve worked with like Richfresh. And so more than anything, I don’t really care that much about what other celebrities are wearing. I look to what the great designers are making and try to find what fits my own personal style and taste based on that.”

Alicia Keys loves expressing her African heritage through her hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Keys “feels royal” when she wears braids.
The ‘No One’ hitmaker loves having braids because it makes her feel proud to show off her African heritage.
Speaking in the Autumn/Winter 20/21 edition of GLAMOUR UK – of which she is the cover star – Alicia said: “Hair is such a gorgeous expression of our individuality and deserves to be respected. I’ve always been proud of wearing braids and I love learning about the power of hair. I’ve always felt royal when I wear braids. There’s something so beautiful about the Blackness of it, about my African ancestry that I just feel truly connected to.”
Elsewhere, the 39-year-old Grammy-winner admitted she felt “really self-conscious” when she struggled with acne in the past, due to constantly having to wear make-up for television appearances or photo shoots, and that’s why she decided to launch her own skincare brand, Keys Soulcare.
She said: “I’ve always had a challenging time with my skin and having to figure out how to manage it, and be in the spotlight. Having to constantly be in this crazy cycle of putting on make-up to cover the bumps and scars and then because I had make-up on under the hot lights, there were more bumps and scars. I felt like I had to hide everything and I felt really self-conscious.
“I struggled so much in my skin and really even being clear about my self-confidence and self-worth. So, it’s a dream come true, [as] I’ve always wanted to create something [like this] because I wanted something that would work for me when I was having difficult times; that would make me feel great and that was also good for me.”

Zendaya: Doing my own make-up is very therapeutic

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya finds applying her own make-up “very therapeutic”.
The ‘Euphoria’ star likes to do her own glam most of the time because it helps her feel less nervous before doing interviews or stepping out on the red carpet.
She told British Vogue: “I pretty much do all my own make-up for events now. It’s very therapeutic for me, especially if I’m ever stressed out before a press junket or a big event. There’s something about taking that time to just be with yourself that I find very relaxing.”
The Lancôme ambassador admitted it’s “trial and error” when it comes to nailing her make-up look, but she’s been able to pick up a lot of different techniques from the make-up artists she’s worked with.
The 24-year-old actress said: “Once I started working with make-up artists, I’d just watch them. If I liked the way someone did my eyebrows, I’d just watch how they did it and try it a home. Over time, learning to do my make-up became about taking different techniques and products from people I liked and putting them into my Rolodex. Then it was a matter of trial and error. I’d go out on the red carpet and later look at photos. Sometimes, I’d be like, ‘Ooh, I look like a ghost’, so then I’d fix it the next time around. It’s really about trying, failing, and trying again.”
Zendaya admitted that every time she hits the red carpet the aim is to “always do something risky”.
Asked the biggest beauty risk she has ever taken is, she replied: “Every time I step on the red carpet, it’s a risk. We always do something risky.”
Elsewhere, the ‘Greatest Showman’ star said she loves to “embrace” her naturally wavy hair.
She said: “I like to wear my hair natural. My natural curl pattern came back after I stopped putting heat on my hair so I try to just embrace [what I have] while learning to care for my natural hair.”

Alexa Chung: Sir Mick Jagger is my ‘beauty icon’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung says Sir Mick Jagger is her “beauty icon”.
The model has heaped praise on the Rolling Stones rocker for his bold eyeliner and “incredible rosy massive mouth”.
She said: “A lot of my beauty icons are men like Mick Jagger in performance who wears eyeliner and always has that incredible rosy massive mouth, so although I might look like I’m trying to doll myself up like Isabella Rossellini, most of the time I’m trying to look like a dude. If you meet in the middle and take the essence of beauty, for example Mick Jagger in performance is playful, beautiful but also has a handsome quality, that’s my approach to beauty – where I still want it to be fun and give things a go.”
And Alexa loves to “balance” out her looks and if she wears an “outlandish” outfit, she goes for a simple make-up look.
She added: “I’ve prioritised clothes most of my life and if I’m wearing an outlandish outfit, I balance it out with a classic clean face to pull off a weird mix. Your are one or the other, it’s about balance, for me I like the tension and juxtaposition.”
In lockdown, Alexa sometimes puts a full face make-up in lockdown to “enhance” her mood.
She told The Sunday Telegraph’s Stellar magazine: “I like the idea of glamour in the wrong places. There were days I didn’t wear any make-up, and others where I would do full glamour. If I was making dinner I’d put on a gown and then spend the next five days in pajamas. Generally speaking, for mood enhancement, sometimes I’d make a massive effort to remember what I could look like if I wasn’t turning into a house beast.”

Elaine Paige eats ‘one meal per day’

OHMYGOSSIP — Elaine Paige eats just “one meal per day” to stay in shape.
The ‘I Know Him So Well’ singer tries to be “careful” with her diet and “not to overindulge”, preferring to focus on one main meal a day.
Speaking to The Mirror newspaper, she said: “I’m a one meal per day girl. I try to be careful with my diet and try not to overindulge. I have one fabulous lunch or early evening supper with a glass of wine … I’m not gaining weight, so I would recommend it. And I’m not deliberately depriving myself. If I do want a snack or a piece of chocolate I have it.”
Meanwhile, Elaine also dished on her routine she sticks to whilst performing, which keeps her away from calorific treats like chocolate and cheese.
She added: “I don’t like giving my anti-ageing secrets away as there is a long list of them. In general, I eat well, sleep well and surround myself with good friends. The older I get, the more I take extra care of my voice. I have learned the old-fashioned way, so I make sure I don’t eat cheese, or chocolate, or drink alcohol when I’m performing. It’s a bit boring, but, it’s my form of maintenance.”
However, there is one thing Elaine “can’t stand” – annoying theatre-goers who eat throughout a performance.
The 72-year-old West End star shared: “I can’t stand theatre-goers that chomp their way through a three-course meal – they’ll be eating chips and everything else during a show. It’s the most annoying thing a theatre-goer will have to experience. We never used to do that in my day.”

Helena Christensen isn’t competitive

OHMYGOSSIP — Helena Christensen is never “competitive” with her fellow supermodels.
The 51-year-old supermodel has praised her friends as “beautiful girls inside and out” and insists they have never been up against each other and rather, they stuck by each other as modelling was a “lonely” job.
She said: “We were not competitive at all. We were always there for each other. They were beautiful girls inside and out. For me that’s the real reason why they deserved to be called super. It was a lonely job. We spent a lot of time on our own travelling, so the times when we came together were important. I am still in touch with them. I was texting with Christy this morning.”
Helena admits there was a time where she “couldn’t think of anything worse” than modelling full time.
She added: “When I was first approached, when I was 20, I couldn’t think of anything worse. I found it a bit of an odd career move to have a job that basically had you in front of a camera with a team of people making you up, changing the way you look. It seemed a strange idea.”
Helena has been spending time with her family in lockdown, and particularly enjoyed getting to wear track pants “every day”.
Speaking to The Times 2, she added: “I had a great time in track pants every day. It was comforting to step into the same pair you had on the day before, and a pair of woollen socks and a big sweatshirt … I tried hard to make every one an exquisite experience. I wanted to keep our spirits up. It saved me emotionally, but after five months of cooking and cleaning I was, like, ‘Enough’. Aside from Covid and all the rest, I was grateful that I was able to spend that time in nature with my son. And the track pants. They were just an added bonus … You can work hours to get bed hair with a professional team. Or you can just wake up in the morning and it’s there. Yes, I put on full make-up every morning for the bears.”

Vicky Pattison ‘super lazy’ with skincare

OHMYGOSSIP — Vicky Pattison is “super lazy” with her skincare routine.
The ‘Geordie Shore’ star admits she is a bit lax with her self-care skincare so she regularly misses her routine in the evening, but will do it “extra special” in the morning to make up for it.
She said: “My mam has literally just been lecturing me and my sister about our skincare, my sister just had a baby at the start of the year, bless her and she’s been lecturing her about not wearing make-up. She’s like, ‘still, you need to be doing your three-part skincare routine, I wish someone has told me when I was your age!’ … The fact is, I’ve got a lovely micellar water and I’ve got a nice Ole Henriksen cleanser, toner and moisturiser. On a good day I’ll love using them and I make sure I use my night time one for dark circles and my daytime one for bright skin and all the rest of it, but if I’m totally honest, I’m super lazy. By the time I’ve finally got myself in that sleepy space, I don’t want to wake myself up by doing it all and I’ll do it extra special in the morning.”
And the 32-year-old reality star finds it easy to sleep when she’s travelling, but struggles with her “anxiety” when she sleeps in her bed.
She added to heat! magazine: “I fall asleep anywhere. Chances are, if you’ve seen me on a flight or on a train or even in the back of an Uber by chance, you’ve seen me catching flies. I’m notorious for falling asleep when travelling. But put me in a bed and my anxiety goes straight through the roof. I know that I have to go to sleep and I know that everyone else is going to sleep, all of that… the pressure just gets to me and I fall apart! I’m not the best person at falling asleep so I have certain things that help calm me beforehand. I find that if I put on a show really quiet, then I’m focusing on that and not the noise inside my head, which is often like, ‘have you set an alarm?’ or ‘are you sure you’ve brushed your teeth?’ and ‘have you packed everything for tomorrow?’ it starts mundane and then gets quite big like, ‘god, are you still working?’ it snowballs quite fast.”
