Karlie Kloss likes to keep her beauty routine ‘simple’

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss likes to keep her beauty routine “simple” after 15 years of modelling.
The 28-year-old former Victoria’s Secret Angel has admitted she likes to opt for natural make-up because she’s been a “blank canvas” for artists to create bold looks for many years.
Asked what her routine is like, she told The Wall Street Journal newspaper: “It’s more on the simple side. I guess it’s because, my 15 years working as a model, I’ve always been the blank canvas for the artists to create these looks. I’ve always been so much more focused on taking care of myself from the inside out. At night, my routine is cleansing, toning, using a serum and then a cream and an under-the-eye cream. In the morning … I slap on a serum and a light cream. I [like] a light concealer, I like to fill in the brow with an eyebrow pencil. Maybe a little bit of cream blush and a lip liner and then that’s it.”
Karlie is currently pregnant with her first child with husband Joshua Kushner and revealed that she looks up to “supermodel moms” Christy Turlington Burns, Cindy Crawford and Natalia Vodianova.
She said: “Where to begin? Christy Turlington [Burns] has been a role model and mentor of mine. She is somebody who I feel really lucky to have to look to for guidance and advice. Her work with Every Mother Counts is one of the reasons why early on in my career I realised the opportunity to make the most of having the platform. And as a mom, I think she’s just the coolest. Cindy Crawford is an incredible supermom as well. Natalia Vodianova, I mean, she has five kids. I still to this day don’t understand how she does it. I’m really excited for all of my friends who are entering this next chapter of life at this time too, so excited for some new mom groups.”

Tracee Ellis Ross keeps old clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Tracee Ellis Ross never gets rid of her old clothes.
The 48-year-old actress “hates” getting rid of her old garments but that doesn’t mean they just go into storage as she’s still wearing things now that she first bought decades ago.
She said: “There will always be dishes in my sink and too many clothes in my home.
“I hate to throw clothes away.
“I still have a beautiful Norma Kamali slip dress from when I was 22. I wore it to my brother’s wedding three years ago. My clothes are a reflection of myself.”
The ‘High Note’ star regards her hair as her “greatest form” of expression and loves experimenting with the way she styles her locks.
She said: “I could chronicle my journey of self-acceptance through my hair.
“It’s my greatest form of expression.
“Sometimes it’s big, sometimes it’s small, sometimes elegant, gravity defying, electric… I don’t think there’s anything as chic as a slicked-back bun but when my hair is loose, it has a mind of its own.
Tracee has always loved fashion and while she used to use her style as part of a “persona” she had to cover her insecurities, she now uses her wardrobe to express her true self.
She added in an interview: “As a child, clothes were my armour. It fed into a persona I put on to cover my insecurities. It was a way to present an identity – if I wore a great outfit, I would conquer the world.
“When I was a toddler, I’d wrap myself in a bedsheet, wear mum’s heels and become a queen. Now, clothing is a form of creative expression.”

Rapper Master P and former NBA star Baron Davis ‘in talks’ to buy Reebok

OHMYGOSSIP — Percy ‘Master P’ Miller and Baron Davis are in talks to buy Reebok.
The 50-year-old rapper and former NBA All-Star player are believed to be “in negotiations” to acquire the sportswear brand from current owners Adidas.
ESPN’s NBA reporter, Eric Woodyard, tweeted on Monday night (28.12.20) that: “Percy “Master P” Miller confirms to ESPN that he’s in negotiations to acquire Reebok with ex-NBA guard Baron Davis.
“These companies have been benefiting off us, this could be history for this company going Black-owned,” Miller tells ESPN. (sic)”
As per Forbes, Adidas is looking for around $2.4 billion for Reebok.
However, retired basketball pro Baron, 41, told the outlet: “I think Reebok is being undervalued. I left Nike as a 22-year-old kid representing myself and made the jump to Reebok, which took a chance on me as a creative and as an athlete. I want the people I know athletes, influencers, designers, celebs to sit at the table with me.”
While his fellow investor, Master P, added of their aim to transform the iconic company: “As we focus on turning Reebok into a lifestyle brand not just a basketball brand, our most important initiative will be to put money back into the community that built this company.”

Tan France reveals wearing boxer shorts on Zoom was his biggest fashion mishap of 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — Tan France’s “most embarrassing” fashion faux pas of 2020 was wearing boxer shorts on Zoom.
The ‘Queer Eye’ star revealed he got caught out when his camera phone fell down and revealed his bare legs during a video call.
Asked for his biggest fashion fail of the year during Facebook Watch’s ‘Peace Out 2020’ special, he said: “Just being home, I often wear pyjamas or shorts when I’m on a Zoom call.
“And as with many people, there was a slight fall of my phone and you saw boxer shorts and bare legs.
“And that was probably one of the most embarrassing moments as far as fashion mishaps go.”
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old designer recently admitted he feels like an outsider in the fashion industry.
Tan believes people in the style world disapprove of him because he doesn’t “live by trends” or worry about his outfits being “last season”- but he doesn’t care.
He said in October: “Believe me, just because I have fame and I have wealth, I still feel sometimes like the fashion industry thinks there are certain people who aren’t right for it.
“I’m positive they would say that about me because I don’t deck myself in designer clothing, I don’t care that much about the hottest new trend.
“If a trend works for me, I will embrace it. But do I live by trends? Do I change my clothes every three months and not wear things any more because they were ‘last season’? Absolutely not.
“I’m positive that I’m excluded from the fashion industry because of that, but I don’t care.
“I care so much more about style for myself, making myself feel good, and pushing that agenda forward onto other people who feel like they’re excluded from the fashion industry.”

Caroline Quentin regrets worrying about her looks

OHMYGOSSIP — Caroline Quentin wishes she didn’t spend so much of her youth worrying about her looks.
The 60-year-old actress revealed she has become more comfortable in her own skin as she has gotten older and she now regrets time spent worrying about her hair, weight and fashion choices.
When asked what advice she would give her younger self, Caroline told Good Housekeeping: “I know exactly what I’d say: ‘Stop apologising for who you are and start being who you are.’ If I had my time again, I’d stop worrying about the perception of oneself: what you look like, how you sound, what you say and what you wear.
“I’d get on with being me and actually knowing that I’m good enough. We women are so tough on ourselves.
“We screw up, make mistakes, put on weight, have terrible haircuts, buy horrible jumpers – but so what? I’m still doing that!
“I’m out and proud with my terrible haircuts and jumpers. I think my younger self would be amazed at the way my life has turned out, actually.”
Caroline explained that turning 60 was the catalyst for her starting to be kinder to herself.
She said: “I suddenly thought: ‘I have less time ahead of me than I have behind me – what am I going to do? What do I want to do?
“My children are well and they’re growing up, so I decided to start doing things that I fancy doing; things that I haven’t done before and will be a bit of a challenge.
“It’s almost a mindset, I think. I’m not really frightened of much anymore. I care much less about what people think about me (except my family, obviously).
“As an actor, you tend to have to be a bit of a people-pleaser, and I think that I just don’t really care about that so much anymore.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Karlie Kloss says Cindy Crawford, Natalia Vodianova and Christy Turlington Burns are her role models when it comes to parenting and modelling.
The 28-year-old model is expecting her first child with husband Joshua Kushner next year and Karlie admitted she will be turning to her fellow catwalk stars for advice.
She told the WSJ Magazine: “Christy Turlington Burns has been a role model and mentor of mine. She is somebody who I feel really lucky to have to look to for guidance and advice. Her work with Every Mother Counts is one of the reasons why early on in my career I saw the opportunity to make the most of having the platform. And as a mom, I think she’s just the coolest.

Twiggy’s confused fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Twiggy’s fans often mix her up with someone else.
The 71-year-old model admitted there are three particular 1960s images that autograph hunters regularly send to her, which she sends back with a note attached explaining that she isn’t actually the person in the picture.
She said: “I think they go onto sites and you can buy photographs of whatever celebrity you want to buy and some get it wrong. There’s three photos in particular and they’re not me, so I put a post it on saying ‘This is not me’. It’s not [a picture of] anyone I recognise, it’s probably a model from the same time.”
When looking back on her modelling career, Twiggy – whose real name is Dame Lesley Lawson – still thinks she went on a “mad” journey because her success happened overnight.
She said in a radio interview: “I think it was a bit bizarre what happened to me really, it literally happened overnight. It was one of those mad things, one week I was going to school, coming home to mum and dad and then within a month I was flying to Paris, doing the collections for Vogue.
“I didn’t plan to do it, it just snowballed and the big break for me was American Vogue taking me to America. I was modelling for four years then I met a wonderful man named Ken Russell, who at the time, was the biggest film director and he cast me in my first film, ‘The Boy Friend.'”

Hailey Bieber says ocean is key to her great skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber says the ocean is the key to her great skin.
The 24-year-old model credits her glowing complexion to spending time at the beach but she is also a fan of clean beauty products.
Hailey told BAZAAR.com: “My skin feels the best when I’ve been in the ocean. Salt water is the best skin healer for me, and I’ve found that nature can be the most soothing for my sensitive skin.
“My beauty philosophy is finding clean and nourishing products with ingredients from the Earth that are backed by science. I’ve recently discovered this whole world of natural beauty that I love.”
Hailey used the Covid-19 lockdown as a chance to experiment with her skincare.
She said: “After the stay-at-home order took place, I started testing out different face masks and indulging in facial massage. I work with a massage therapist in LA who has taught me a lot about Gua Sha and I’m a big believer in facial massage to keep the skin looking fresh and young. It also feels so luxurious.
“I love to be able to like sweat in a steam and then follow it with cold water, especially during the flu season or if you feel a cold coming on. It’s a good stress-reliever too.”

Whitney Cummings keeps changing her hair colour to keep her hairstylist in work amid pandemic

OHMYGOSSIP — Whitney Cummings has been dying her hair different colours to keep her hairstylist in work.
The 38-year-old comedian has revealed she has been having lots of bold hairdos lately, including bright pink and blue and green, to help out the person who does her hair who has seen their wages impacted amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Appearing on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ this week, Whitney said: “I dyed my hair pink mostly because we are in a time right now … where so many people can’t work. And my hair person can’t do hair.
“I was like, ‘What’s the most expensive thing you can do and charge me for it? Come over and let’s do tests and do masks and do something expensive.’”
Whitney has previously credited her hair on Instagram to hairstylist Jess Switzer.
Meanwhile, the ‘2 Broke Girls’ showrunner announced in February that she is no longer engaged.
The stand-up had been set to tie the knot with Miles Skinner when they got engaged in 2018, but she revealed they called off plans to get married, as she explained she isn’t “ready to plan a wedding”.
Speaking on her ‘Good For You’ podcast, she said: “I am not wearing an engagement ring. I am no longer engaged. Nothing nasty, no drama. It just wasn’t – I feel like nobody will believe me – I truly just was not ready to plan a wedding, the whole thing really overwhelmed me.”

Lil’ Kim launches PrettyLittleThing collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil’ Kim has teamed up with PrettyLittleThing on a new fashion collection.
The 46-year-old rapper has launched the inclusive 60-piece line for the fast fashion brand – which comes in sizes 4 to 30 – and admitted the aim was to prove that she’s a “real stylist and visionary” as she designed each piece herself.
She said in a statement: “The thing I love is that it’s a little bit of me mixed with PrettyLittleThing. You guys can get beautiful looks that are so affordable.
“I just wanted to stay true to the PLT aesthetic and show everyone that I’m a real stylist and visionary. This whole collection was designed by me and I’m super proud of that.”
PrettyLittleThing, chief executive, Umar Kamani added: “To be working with one of the most iconic and legendary women in Hip Hop has been a dream come true for me. I’ve been a huge fan of Kim for years and after her performance at our New York Fashion Week show I knew she would be the perfect fit to launch our partywear collection. She has worked so closely with our Design team bringing her version to life, recreating some of her most iconic looks which I know her fans will recognise.”
The pieces include faux fur coats, PVC jackets, bodycon dresses, vinyl leggings, and much more.
Meanwhile, the music star previously declared she is “unapologetic” about her fashion choices.
The ‘Can’t Hold Us Down’ hitmaker likes to take risks with her fashion and does whatever feels right to her, as she says she never wants to apologise for the way she looks.
Asked about her fashion and beauty secrets, she said: “I do what I feel and I’m unapologetic about it too. A lot of times we mess up because sometimes we don’t have the time. Sometimes there’s things that just go completely wrong you’ll never know about, but I just go with what I feel.”
And Kim’s favourite fashion look of all time has been her famous Louis Vuitton logo look for her cover with Interview magazine, in which she posed in nothing but a cap, whilst her body was covered with the brand’s logo.
She said last year: “The Louis Vuitton is definitely one of my favourites, which is the one from the Interview Magazine [shoot.] And of course the Hardcore poster, the purple pasty. Honestly, the wine colour BET look that I just did a couple months ago with Mary J. Blige, who’s one of my favourites, and I designed that from head to toe myself.”

Lily Cole models ‘much less’ because she prefers to work with sustainable brands

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Cole models “much less” because she only works with brands who are “trying to solve a problem”.
The 32-year-old model, actress and environmental activist – who started her modelling career when she was just 14 – is “ever more selective” about the work she takes on and would rather work for companies who are committed to making changes to their practices in order to reduce their carbon footprint.
The ‘St. Trinians’ star says it’s important to have an open dialogue with friends and family about such issues.
Lily told Stylist: “I model much less these days than I used to and I try to be ever more selective about who I work with; either creatives I really admire, or products that are trying to solve a problem (ideally both, like with Material Focus). To create little changes, buy less, buy better, educe waste and support ethical companies where possible. It’s important to share information with friends and family and remain open minded to new perspectives. Let others – including politicians – know we care.”
Lily has recently worked with Material Focus, who recycle unwanted electrical appliances into gold jewellery.
She said: “When researching for my book ‘Who Cares Wins’, I was horrified by the amount of electronic waste that is produced every year, and how little of it is recycled. Yet electronic waste is unique as it’s highly valuable – e-waste often contains precious metals and finite materials which can be transformed and reused.
“So when Material Focus reached out to me with their campaign to give away rings made from recycled e-waste, I thought it was a beautiful initiative to demonstrate the value in objects we might consider “waste”.
“If we recycle electronics more, we will help slow one of the planet’s fastest growing waste streams, prevent millions of tonnes of valuable resources being lost, and reduce the overall pressure on the extraction of raw materials from the earth. I learned that nearly 100 tonnes of precious metals including gold, silver and palladium – equivalent to £857m – could be recycled from unwanted electricals each year in the UK – that’s enough to make over 858,000 gold rings.”

Olivia Culpo admits her old OTT make-up looks were ‘too much’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Culpo has admitted her old make-up looks were “too much”.
The 28-year-old model admitted she used to overdo her glam and prefers to go for a more natural look these days, while sharing her 40-step beauty routine.
In a video for Vogue, she confessed: “Looking back on those photos, I don’t even know who that person is, because it was just too much.
“I’m not a huge fan of changing what your face looks like. I like the idea of enhancing the things that make you different instead of creating a whole new face. I actually just like working with the canvas that you have.”
Meanwhile, Olivia previously admitted she felt “ugly” growing up.
The brunette beauty – who was crowned Miss Universe in 2012 – said she was “really different looking” when she was younger as she thought her older sister “looked like a Barbie doll” whilst she was overweight.
She said: “Honestly growing up I felt really ugly which is a terrible thing to say … I was really different looking. My older sister looked like the Barbie doll. I was overweight. I had to look myself in the mirror and say, ‘Okay, you’re different,’ because I was.”
And Olivia recalled being put on a diet when she was just 10 years old.
She added: “Our dad is amazing but our dad is like, Type A and has run over a dozen marathons. When I was 10 years old, yeah, I was put on those diets and I kind of realised, when you put in the work you get the results. It kind of all started from there.”

Maya Jama admits her skin has been ‘forgiving’ throughout her ‘partying days’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Maya Jama has admitted her skin has been “patient” with her “throughout [her] partying days”.
The MIJ Masks founder has admitted she often falls asleep with her make-up on and she’s thankful that her skin is “quite forgiving” and doesn’t come out in a rash.
She told Vogue.co.uk when asked what she loves most about her skin: “I like that it’s quite forgiving. I often fall asleep with my make-up on and it doesn’t instantly go into a spotty rash, which it used to when I was younger. So I like it for being patient with me throughout my partying days. But I also think that’s just an age thing – so I like that it lasts, for now!”
The 26-year-old billionaire also revealed that a lot of expensive skincare products react badly with her skin, while she shared that the one product that never lets her down is the Nivea Hand & Body cream.
Asked what the one product she couldn’t live without is, she said: “Besides my masks, it sounds mad but Nivea Hand & Body cream, the little tube. It’s the most basic tube ever, but I always have it in my handbag. If I’ve forgotten to moisturise my face, it’s my standard go-to, and it’s never let me down. It’s a safe product that isn’t expensive, and actually, when I try the really expensive, fancy creams, my skin doesn’t react well to them. Straight down the line: it’s Nivea. It’s nice and trusty.”

Gwen Stefani’s outfits are always customised in some way

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani’s outfits always include some kind of customisation to match her uniqueness.
The ‘Let Me Reintroduce Myself’ hitmaker’s stylist Sonja Christensen has reflected on Gwen’s ever-evolving style over the years, and how she has “embraced her feminine side and her iconic tomboy style” and has never been “afraid to take risks”.
Sonja told POPSUGAR.com: “From the ’90s compared to today, I’d characterise Gwen’s style as a beautiful evolution; a mix of pop, punk, a hint of country meets high fashion, and a bit sexy. Just as she’s evolved as an artist, so has her style. She has really embraced her feminine side and her iconic tomboy style from back then. She has added more pink, a little sparkle, and fringe. Gwen isn’t afraid to take risks, which is why she is the style icon that she is today.”
Sonja added how every piece the No Doubt star – who is married to country star Blake Shelton – wears is unique because it’s been altered in some way to make it a “custom look” – and that can take hours to get right.
She said: “Almost every one of the pieces [Gwen] wears has some sort of customisation, so just like her, each piece is unique! Most recently, Gwen and I collaborated on a custom look for one of the blind shows on this season of ‘The Voice’. Her vision was a sparkly superhero vibe. I got in touch with Traver Rains, who was formally the designer for Heatherette, and Ske Drynan of Dulce Bestia, both of whom were quarantining in Montana at the time. They didn’t let that stop them! They got to work and started sketching. I’d Facetime with Gwen while she was in Oklahoma at the time and showed her the trims and materials, and we’d tweak things along the way. After four back-to-back fittings in LA, it came out just like we had envisioned!”

A$AP Rocky launches collection with Marnie Serre

OHMYGOSSIP — A$AP Rocky has launched a fashion collection with Marnie Serre.
The 32-year-old rapper collaborated with the 29-year-old fashion designer on the new MSxAWGE capsule collection to bring to life their shared interests and sense of community.
Rocky told Vogue: “I really loved her work. It seemed like she took the streetwear etiquette and kind of put her own ‘I don’t give a f***,’ rebellious, punk twist to it. Aesthetically, I never saw somebody be so free, especially with a monogram – something as simple as a crescent moon.
“She has more of a, I would say, fashion-house approach to [her brand], but with a streetwear aesthetic. She collided both worlds. I’m an advocate for that: mixing high-end streetwear and low-end clothing, so it spoke to me, naturally. I just loved her aesthetics.”
However, the partnership wasn’t as smooth sailing as Rocky doubted she would want to work with him but the rapper was determined to get her attention.
He added: “To be honest with you, we didn’t know if she would collab with us because she doesn’t really collab or work with people! That’s what really turned me on about this collaboration. I really want to work with people who are not easy to get to.”
Serre agreed: “Also, you know, if I had not liked Rocky, I would not have done it. Even though it’s A$AP Rocky! That’s really the thing, you know, we really could speak together, and I think that was the most important for me, that we can really exchange.”
The pair soon got “intimate” during the designing process as Serre created the line – which includes puffer coats, track pants, hooded dresses and durags – with Rocky’s body in mind.
She added: “The shape of all the garments in the collection, they are really made differently than how I design normally. I designed them for his body. It was kind of challenging to keep your aesthetic but at the same time answer to someone else’s way to live or way to move. In a way it’s really intimate. This is what I like when I work.”
