OHMYGOSSIP — Naomi Osaka has been named a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton.
The 23-year-old Japanese tennis pro – a three-time Grand Slam singles champion and reigning champion at the US Open – has become the latest spokesperson for the iconic French fashion house.
The sports star has been photographed by the luxury brand’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, Nicolas Ghesquière, for their 2021 spring collection campaign.
Naomi can be seen rocking their mixed-print dress with a travel-size shoulder bag with their iconic LV branding in one shot.
In a statement, she said: “Aside from tennis, my most treasured passion is fashion, and there is no brand more iconic than Louis Vuitton.
“It is such an honour to work with Nicolas – he’s a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. To become a global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me.”
Over on Instagram, Naomi admitted it’s like a “full circle moment”, as ever since her 16th birthday she has gotten a new Louis Vuitton handbag.
She wrote: “Wow this is actually crazy. Honored to be @louisvuitton newest House Ambassador.
Funny story : I first bought my mom a LV bag when I was 16 as a birthday present and it’s kinda been a tradition since. Do I call this a full circle moment? Yes (sic)”

Zendaya put on wigs and played different characters to try and motivate herself to workout

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya put on different wigs and played different characters to try and motivate herself to workout.
The ‘Euphoria’ star doesn’t “enjoy” keeping active, and even when she pretended to be someone else for five days in quarantine after “craving acting”, she hasn’t been able to keep up her fitness sessions-turned-skits.
Going undercover on the Internet for GQ to answer a fan’s comment on YouTube, which read: “Zendaya: “I don’t really workout.” Me: “Howwwwwwww?”, she replied: “I don’t know, man. I don’t really enjoy working out. I really wish I did because I feel like it would be good for me.
“I tried in quarantine. I did, like, maybe five days consistently … I was like, ‘Yo, you know what this is going to be my thing. I’m gonna keep my body active. I’ve got to do this.’ It didn’t last very long.
“And the way that I got myself to keep going every day to workout was I would put on different wigs and pretend to be different characters because I was just craving acting, I guess. And I would do these funny skits … again that only lasted about five days.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Dune’ star recently revealed she wore her own clothes for ‘Malcolm & Marie’ filming because they were working in secret amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 24-year-old star opened up on shooting the upcoming Netflix movie, which is set to be released next month and sees her star in the titular role as Marie alongside John David Washington (Malcolm) as a filmmaker and his girlfriend in a two-person film set in just one location.
She said: “We made a bubble. We all quarantined and stayed in this very small area in the middle of nowhere.
“We shot in this house… we weren’t allowed to leave or go anywhere… I’m doing my own hair and makeup in the bathroom and brought a lot of my clothes to help with set [decoration].”

Tommy Hilfiger reveals the best advice the late Karl Lagerfeld gave to him

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Hilfiger says the best advice he received from Karl Lagerfeld was how valuable an archive is.
The 69-year-old designer – who acquired Lagerfeld’s eponymous fashion house in 2004 – says the key to the late former Chanel creative director’s “magic” was “simply” transforming vintage pieces from their old collections to make them “relevant for today”.
Hilfiger said: “The one thing Karl left me with was something that I will never forget. I asked Karl, ‘Why is Chanel so successful — what’s your magic?’ And he said, ‘It’s very simple. I go back to the archives of Coco Chanel and bring all of those ideas forward to make them relevant for today.'”
Hilfiger insisted his brand’s archive is “the most valuable asset” they have and models such as Gigi Hadid have benefited from it.
Asked if it was good advice, he added to WWD.com: “I took it back to my design team many, many times. Let’s go back to the archive, let’s see what we did in the early days and see how we can make it relevant for today. We did that with Gigi [Hadid]; we did it with bringing back the streetwear of the Nineties. I feel that the archive is one of the most valuable assets we have. It’s like a treasure chest.”
The fashion muse recently insisted the key to his brand’s success is “always looking into the future”.
Hilfiger – who was crowned Design Lead of the Year at the 2020 GQ Men of the Year Awards – revealed that ensuring their pieces are “eternally youthful” and “a step ahead” of their competition, whilst also appealing to different cultures, explains their longevity.
He said: “I think I am where I am because I’m always looking ahead, always looking into the future, trying to keep a step ahead of my competition and staying relevant by keeping the brand eternally youthful.
“In order to survive you need to be global, but you need to have an understanding of what that really means. The brand needs to work in Dublin and Tokyo and London and Milan, but it needs to respond to those cultures too.”

Zara Larsson’s favourite ever make-up look was drag

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Larsson’s favourite ever make-up look was drag.
The ‘Talk About Love’ singer has revealed the best glam transformation she’s had was by the LGBTQ+ collective Sink The Pink in 2019.
Zara told make-up artist Abby Roberts in an interview on her IGTV: “One of my favourite make-up looks was when I did drag.
“It was here in London, actually, it was just so sick. How you can transform your look like that with make-up.”
The Swedish pop star recently opened up about her stage outfits and how she loves being “extra” with all the sparkles.
She said: “Fashion and music go hand in hand and wearing my stage clothes is so much fun, I want to wear stuff that I wouldn’t on a normal day. I love a show, I want glitter, I want light, I want shoulder pads – I want to be extra.”
When it comes to applying make-up, the ‘So Good’ hitmaker admitted she’d rather let the artist do their own thing.
She said: “I don’t always know what to do with make-up. I’ll be sitting in the chair, and a make-up artist will ask my opinion, and I’ll say, ‘Just do something nice.’
Sophia [Sinot] always has ideas. Some of the people I’ve worked with before would go, ‘Let’s do a no-make-up make-up look’, which is cute, but I think when you do a show, everything should be showy. The fact that Sophia isn’t afraid to take me out of my comfort zone is remarkable. I was not sure about that eyeliner when she told me about it. Even when she drew it on me I felt like I was in a manga, but she knew it looked great and it added something to the entire look.”

Patricia Field hails Sarah Jessica Parker for her ‘innovative’ approach to Carrie Bradshaw’s style

OHMYGOSSIP — Patricia Field say Sarah Jessica Parker “spoke the same language” as her when they worked on ‘Sex and the City’.
The 79-year-old costume designer, who is behind Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe on the hit HBO series, found it much “more interesting” working alongside someone he is “innovative in her own way” on set.
Speaking about the 55-year-old actress to Jesse Gre Rubinstein for her series ‘Anne Klein: Women Who Do’, Patricia said: “We kind of spoke the same language. She was innovative in her own way. I say, if I’m a good tennis player, I want to play with another good tennis player. It makes it more interesting.”
Patricia also revealed that Sarah’s alter ego’s popular oversized studded belt was worn more than once because she’s obsessed with belts.
She said: “I love belts. I use them a lot.
“The main thing about a belt is it defines the waist and can be worn over a coat, dress or pant.”
More recently, the stylist worked with Lily Collins on Netflix’s ‘Emily in Paris’ and she explained that they met up to get “a feeling” for each other before working together.
She said: “Before we left for Paris, Lily Collins came to my gallery and it was our first meeting and we tried some clothes on, just for me to get a little bit of a feeling and for her to get a feeling of me as well.”
And when asked who her biggest style inspiration is, Patricia chose legendary ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, Cleopatra.
She said: “I’m very inspired by Cleopatra. She’s not in my life, she’s from another time. I recommend everyone to read that book, ‘Cleopatra: A Life.’ Stacy Schiff is the author and it’s so well written.”

Giorgio Armani to host runway show without audience

OHMYGOSSIP — Giorgio Armani’s Armani Privé show won’t have an audience.
The 86-year-old fashion designer’s annual runway showcase at his headquarters on Via Borgonuovo in Milan takes place on January 26, but due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in Italy, the event will be live-streamed with no crowd.
Armani said in a statement: “Due to the ongoing emergency, it will not be possible to hold the event as previously announced. With regret, Giorgio Armani announces that, contrary to his wishes, the next Giorgio Armani Privé show will take place behind closed doors, in Milan, without an audience.”
The show will be available to watch on the fashion house’s social media channels from 7pm CET and 6pm BST as part of Paris Couture Week.
Armani previously revealed the upcoming collection will be a season-less line that features pieces suitable for winter as well as lighter items for summer.
He said: “The activity of the ateliers has not ceased in recent months: the demand for new and special clothes from customers continues.”
Meanwhile, Armani has implored celebrities to re-wear the same outfits.
While giving an update on the changes his eponymous brand is making to ensure they are sustainable, he said: “And in the circularity of thought, with a view to doing less and better, I also involve celebrities and red-carpet events: no more creations worn only once, with an enormous waste of skills and resources. I welcome the clothes that are worn many times, and a new conscience. Just as it happened a few evenings ago for the opening night of La Scala in Milan, when numerous artists performed in clothes that were previously worn, but no less impressive. By means of all these coordinated actions, I think it is possible to reestablish value in the work of us designers, making it tangible and ethical, instead of merely frivolous, without ever relinquishing beauty.”

Pharrell Williams: Skincare boosted my well-being

OHMYGOSSIP — Pharrell Williams’ skincare routine helps him “take care” of his well-being.
The 47-year-old music star – who launched his skincare line, Humanrace, last year – was able to boost his wellness during the coronavirus lockdown by focusing on his skin.
He told Wallpaper: “There is nothing more important, now more than ever, than our well-being, it’s our greatest resource. Wellness is a lifelong self-discovery process that offers meaningful rewards to everyone.
“It was really important for me to create something that reflected that ethos and create something that was accessible and inclusive. This year was the right year to create a platform for that. Our first product was Humanrace skincare because over the years, I’ve really learnt how to take care of my skin, and subsequently, discovered the positive impact it taught me on how to take care of myself and others.”
Pharrell partnered with his longtime facialist, Dr Elena Jones , to create the line, which boasts three vegan products that cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise the skin.
Elena found most of her clients wanted a simple skincare routine which is why they developed the three-minute facial products.
She said: “In the 20 years of my busy practice, I have been privileged to see all ages, genders, and skin types. ‘In listening to my patients’ skincare questions and concerns, patients want a simple and effective routine that they can follow in their journey to celebrate their healthy skin. Humanrace celebrates Pharrell’s skincare routine and his love of exfoliation and humidifying hydration with its three-minute facial.”
The dermatologist agreed with Pharrell’s ethos that skincare is more than healthy skin.
She added: “We wanted to share with the world his simple routine and his belief that we must pause to take a moment to focus not only on your skin but also on your health and well-being.”

Cara Delevingne crowned Britain’s highest paid model as she rakes in £15.7m

OHMYGOSSIP — Cara Delevingne was Britain’s highest paid model in 2020.
The 28-year-old model-and-actress – who has an estimated net worth of £30.2 million – raked in a whopping £15.7 million last year, according to The Sun newspaper.
As well as working for major brands such as Burberry, DKNY, Jimmy Choo, Rimmel and Volkswagen, her modelling career, movie roles and a lucrative property portfolio, the ‘Suicide Squad’ star has also released a tome and albums.
Other high earners include Kate Moss, 46, in second place, having earned £9 million in 2020, while Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 33, ranked third with £8 million, and Naomi Campbell, 50, made £5million.
Rounding out the top five is Jourdan Dunn, 30, who added £2.2million to her net worth of £9.5million.
Cara recently inherited a share of £3.5 million from her godmother.
Annette Howard passed away earlier this year and left the money from her estate to each of her godchildren.
Cara’s mother said last month: “She had a lot of godchildren – so many. She was unbelievable to all of them. She was like a sort of Pied Piper to kids. She loved them and they loved her.”
The author also shares a large share in a family property company, which saw her earn a whopping £278,000 for her work in 2019.
Despite being a multi-millionaire, the ‘Paper Towns’ actress previously insisted money doesn’t buy happiness.
She said: “I had a very privileged upbringing in terms of being able to travel and growing up in London, which was incredible for me.
“Having a wonderful family and my father … he didn’t grow up with a lot of money and he is extremely ambitious and driven to look after his family and all of us.
“I realised money isn’t everything. You get to the point where you’re like, ‘Oh, I’ve made money but I’m so deeply unhappy and alone.’”

Rachel Brosnahan’s beauty routine is about feeling ‘the best version of yourself’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachel Brosnahan follows a skincare and beauty routine that makes her feel like “the best version of herself”.
The 30-year-old actress – who plays Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel in ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ – never used to wear make-up growing up as she was more of an “athletic” type.
And when she’s not in heavy make-up for work, Rachel prefers to go for a more natural look.
She said: “I’m a little bit late to the make-up game. It took me a long time to learn how to do make-up at all.
“Now I really enjoy it.”
She explained: “It feels important not to judge or compare what makes you feel good to other people … I feel my best when I look a little bit more like myself.
“So most of my skincare and beauty routines are targeted at bringing out the best version of myself.”
Rachel says playing the aspiring stand-up comedian in the Emmy-winning show taught her that falling to sleep in your make-up is a “big, big no”.
She shared: “One thing I learned from playing Midge would definitely be not to go to bed with your make-up on.
“I can’t Imagine the kind of pressure that women in the 1950s felt, and some women still to this day, to look that perfect all the time.
“It’s not good for your skin to sleep in your make-up. Big, big hard no.”
Elsewhere, the former ‘House of Cards’ star admitted it can be hard to find the time to “take care” of herself with her hectic work schedule, but one way she likes to relax is doing a face mask.
Talking through her routine in a video for Vogue, Rachel said: “When I am working a lot it can be really, really hard to find the time to take care of myself, to just relax.
“I think even taking 15 minutes to do something simple like a face mask can make you feel rejuvenated and brand new. I know it has for me.”
“I’ve definitely as I’ve gotten older noticed little sun spots starting to come through and that is definitely from major sunburns from childhood.
Yikes. I feel like there is no such thing as too much SPF.”

Karen Gillan “paints” on her freckles

OHMYGOSSIP — Karen Gillan “paints” on her freckles.
The 33-year-old actress adds extra beauty spots onto her skin using a graphic design pen as she finds them “anti-ageing”.
Speaking in a video for British Vogue, she said: “This is my freckle pen, but what this really is is a graphic design pen. Basically, I use this to paint on freckles because I love freckles so much and weirdly I don’t have as many as other ginger people naturally have. I find them to be so cute and actually so anti-ageing.
“What I do is I kind of lightly dot all over the areas where I do naturally have freckles but they’re more faint and then I also like to do some on the forehead. Then I sort of dab them in a little bit to make them into your base.”
Karen loves to play with make-up as she finds it similar to “painting a picture” on her face.
After talking through her skincare routine, she said: “Now that my skin is prepared I can start to do my make-up, which is something I love to do. I really love make-up. I feel like I’m painting a picture or something.”
The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star also admitted to taking skincare samples from the airport as she is trying to treat her skin with the best products to maintain a healthy glow.
She added: “I’m trying to be more gentle with my skin rather than be furious. You only get one set of skin in your life and so, therefore, you should just treat yourself or swipe some samples from the airport or something.”
Meanwhile, Karen recently bought a VHS player to revisit her childhood by delving into home videos from her youth.
She wrote on Instagram: “I’ve just purchased an old-school VHS player and found all my childhood videos. Get ready for some content gold.”

Andre Leon Talley is the face of UGG

OHMYGOSSIP — André Leon Talley is the new face of UGG.
The former US Vogue editor-at-large was snapped outside his home in White Plains, New York donning a red puffer coat and a pair of UGG’s Neuman and Tasman styles for the latest campaign after being spotted at a number of the brand’s fashion shows.
He told WWD: “They contacted me, and I said, ‘Why not?’ It’s a fun thing to do.”
UGG launched its ongoing series ‘Feel’ last September which features “industry icons” to share their personal stories of their lives and what fuels their creativity.
For Talley, he finds inspiration in his need for knowledge through the “arts”.
He explained: “It’s my thirst for a sense of beauty, in the arts, literature, fashion, books, movies, cinema, great directors, great actors, great musicians, painters, everything.”
The 72-year-old fashion journalist revealed he kept himself inspired and entertained throughout the coronavirus lockdown by indulging in new books and television series.
He added: “One simply looks for new books or things to read or see on television. I try to read something every day from a book. I try to read several books at a time.”
Meanwhile, Talley previously revealed he was terrified of Karl Lagerfeld.
The author gave a less than flattering portrayal of the late legendary Chanel creative director in his book ‘The Chiffon Trenches’, but admitted he never would have spoken out if Karl – who passed away in 2019 – was still alive.
He said last year: “I would never have talked about this while Karl was alive, out of respect for him and fear of his reprisals.
“He could have decimated my reputation in fashion.”

Jodie Comer uses natural remedies to treat her acne-prone skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Jodie Comer prefers to use “natural remedies” on her acne-prone skin.
The ‘Killing Eve’ star – who is a global brand ambassador for disruptive beauty brand, Noble Panacea – has revealed she “steers towards” products such as rose water and tea tree to treat her skin when she’s having a hormonal breakout.
She told Forbes: “My skin is prone to breakouts when filming or if I’m stressed out or hormonal. I love to steer towards more natural remedies to alleviate any redness. Rose water is very calming for skin. ”
The 27-year-old actress also swears by Noble Panacea’s The Brilliant Overnight Recharge Cream.
She continued: “My all time favourite product is The Brilliant Overnight Recharge Cream. I feel like this provides so much food for my skin while I sleep. The morning after using this product, my skin always feels firm and nourished.”
One of the main reasons the Emmy-winner agreed to become a spokesperson for Noble Panacea is because of their commitment to sustainability.
She explained: “Sustainability is also something that has become increasingly important within my life and that shouldn’t stop at beauty. I was so impressed by Noble Panacea’s commitment towards using natural ingredients and packaging the products in travel friendly daily doses. This packaging is recyclable and encourages less waste.”
And the British star went as far as to hail the brand for “making way for a new age of beauty” built on “authenticity”.
She added: “This brand represents authenticity to me. All of their claims are backed by years of research and a wide depth of knowledge. I feel like they are making way for a new age of beauty. They represent and champion that beauty is not just about aesthetics and I think that is an important message to carry.”

Halsey reveals applying make-up helped her deal with her ‘really ugly’ breakup

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey says applying her own make-up before shows helped her deal with her “really ugly” breakup from G-Eazy.
The ‘you should be sad’ singer – who dated the 31-year-old rapper for a year before their 2018 split – has just unveiled her debut make-up brand, about-face, and opened up about how she stopped herself from crying before going on stage following the end of her romance by “going to war” with her glam.
She explained: “I was on tour and I had just gone through a really ugly and public breakup. I was crying and crying and crying. I was really embarrassed to have to go onstage and be sexy, and cool, and empowering, knowing that every single person in the audience had probably just read some gossip tabloid about me.
“I just f*****’ took a big breath and just looked at myself and got ready – like I was going to war. And by the time I had my make-up on, I wasn’t crying anymore.”
Halsey – who does her own make-up and loves cosplay – admitted she always tried to make herself “look different”, but through creating her own brand of make-up, she has learned to embrace her natural beauty.
She explained: “I think so much of make-up these days is about changing what you look like, or correcting things.
“Look, I love make-up as an art as much as the next person. I admire the tremendous amount of skill that it takes to do colour correction, but as someone who has spent a really long time trying to look different than I do, it was really relieving for me to be able to look at myself and go, hey, that’s your face. There’s nothing you can do about it. So you better love it, because that’s the one you got.”
For her own line, Halsey was inspired by the “MySpace scene” era of the early 2000s and the “dirty” grunge looks of the 1990s.
The 26-year-old singer added to Byrdie.com: “I feel like I never really see make-up anymore that’s about being f***** up and dirty and grungy and just wrong, and so much make-up used to be about that.
“I’m just paying homage to the style of make-up and the make-up influences that I’ve always loved: very ’90s-heavy, very MySpace scene queen, very emo revival.”

Lisa Rinna created lip kits because she couldn’t find the “specific” formula she wanted

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Rinna created her own lip kits because she wanted a “specific” formula.
The 57-year-old actress – who has Amelia, 19, and Delilah, 22, with husband Harry Hamlin – recently launched her beauty line Rinna Beauty and has revealed she wanted to develop the perfect shade and consistency for her lipsticks and gloss after a number of her friends asked her for advice for years.
She told The Daily Front Row: “I have brands that I absolutely love, so it really wasn’t that [I couldn’t find products]. It was more that I wanted to be able to do my own because I’m so specific about what I love. I’m always wearing nudes and peachy colours, and people were always asking me for years what [shades] I wore. I never go without something on my lips – my mom was the same, she’d never have her lips bare! Same with me and my girls.”
The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star claims it is her “special sauce” of colours that has drawn people to her brand.
She explained: “My special sauce is the combo – the formulations and the colours — and the pencil, and how you can layer them together. They’re beautiful colours that everyone can wear. It’s a no brainer. You can come up with so many different colours with different combinations. Or layer all three, that’s what I do! It’s just so easy. ‘Easy, easy beauty’ is what I call it. It looks good on everyone.”
What’s more, Lisa has begun to look at make-up differently since starting her own brand and believes her choice of glam changes with her adapting lifestyle.
She added: “I would say so. I’ve been in the business for over 30 years so it’s evolved tremendously. After becoming a ‘Real Housewife’ and now that I have my own line, the way I view make-up and look at lipgloss, eyeshadows, and everything else, is more from the perspective of someone in the business. It’s all about the evolution of your life: your income, fashion, beauty … everything. Beauty and fashion are ever evolving!”
