Jane Fonda’s self-care routine unchanged in lockdown

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Fonda says her self-care routine hasn’t “changed at all” amid the pandemic.
The 83-year-old actress has kept up the same regime throughout the coronavirus lockdown by ensuring she gets enough sleep and continues to treat her skin to hydrating skincare.
She told New Beauty: “My self-care hasn’t changed at all. I do the same things I always do. For me, self-care means I wake up feeling OK. It means I’m not hungover; it means I got enough sleep; it means my skin is not dry. In other words, I moisturise, I sleep nine hours a night, and I drink very, very little – never so much that I would have a hangover. I don’t have that many more mornings to waste so I’m very careful.”
‘The Book Club’ star also recalled how she was told to “rotate” her face creams after her ex-husband Roger Vadim’s ex-wife suggested the beauty hack.
She shared: “I like to rotate a lot. And to be perfectly honest, that idea came years and years ago from Catherine Deneuve who had been married to my husband before me. She said that’s what she did – this was in the 60s – and I thought, well if it’s good enough for her.”
Fonda believes the trick has helped her to pay more attention to her skin after causing sun damage over the years.
She added: “I think it benefits my skin. I tend to have dry skin, and as you get older, skin tends to get drier. I really do have to pay a lot of attention to moisturisers. On places where I’ve gotten a lot of sun damage – my chest, my arms, my hands, my lower legs – I use Weleda Skin Food that comes in a green tube. It’s very, very thick, but it really works. I put it on my lower legs and arms, and it disappears immediately – my skin just soaks it up. Interestingly enough, when my make-up artist is making me up for a movie or ‘Grace & Frankie’ or whatever, he actually puts a little bit of it on a sponge and puts it under my eyes.”

Gabrielle is embracing the ageing process

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle says grey hairs should be worn “with pride”.
The ‘Out of Reach’ hitmaker doesn’t have many silver locks herself, but even if she did, she wouldn’t mind because she has embraced the ageing process.
She said: “I’m going to be 52 this year. So what? I’m enjoying it.
When I turned 40, my mum said: ‘You’re the happiest 40-year-old I know.’ I was shocked people got upset about it. I couldn’t wait to be 40. And then I couldn’t wait to be 50. I’m loving it. I’m lucky I don’t have many grey hairs, but I shouldn’t say lucky because you should wear them with pride. If you want to colour it, that’s fine, too, but it’s a badge of honour just to be here to see my grey hairs. I’ve had friends who died young. I bet they’d love to be able to sit around here complaining about things they’re not happy with.”
The ‘Dreams’ singer wears an eyepatch on one eye due to ptosis, which causes the drooping or falling of the upper eyelid, and insisted she is a “middle-aged woman enjoying [her] differences”, while she hinted at dyeing her hair a “wild colour” one day.
She added to The Daily Mail: “When I started out as a singer, I didn’t have that naturally beautiful look. I came out wearing an eye patch, with hair gelled to my scalp. I hope I batted away all the misconceptions about what people think a woman, or a black woman, should look like.
“I’m not a size 8. But I’m happy to live with who I am. I’m a middle-aged woman enjoying my differences. I have half my head shaved. Maybe I’ll dye it a wild colour. I just want to experiment.
“For some of us, it takes longer to be happy and self-accepting than others. But why wait until you’re 50? I hope more women can enjoy life from a younger age, too.”

Camila Mendes has regular injections after finding an alopecia spot

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Mendes has been having injections to help stimulate hair growth after discovering an alopecia spot.
The ‘Riverdale’ star “freaked out” when she noticed the bald patch, which she was told was the result of stress by a dermatologist, but fortunately, her locks are growing again since having the treatment.
The 26-year-old actress – who plays Veronica Lodge on The CW teen drama – added how “people underestimate how much mental health plays a role in beauty.”
Speaking to Byrdie she said: “Well, to be honest, I’ve been going to a dermatologist and getting some sort of injection on the spot to stimulate hair growth. That’s been helping. It’s growing back now, which is great. But it kind of came out of nowhere. My hair has always been really healthy, and I don’t like to do much to it. I never really dyed it a lot when I was younger, and I’m just dying it black for the show. It’s not like I was bleaching it or anything. So when that happened to me, I came out of the shower, and I just noticed I had this spot, and I freaked out. My dermatologist said, ‘It’s stress. We see this all the time. You’re stressed, and you have to calm down.’ I feel like people underestimate how much mental health plays a role in beauty. When you’re taking care of your heart, mind, and body, that all reflects in your appearance. You can see it in your skin. You can see when someone’s glowing from just being happy.”
The ‘Perfect Date’ star recently admitted she is desperate to switch up her “pitch-black” hairstyle but has to wait until she leaves ‘Riverdale’ before she can make any dramatic changes to her style and colour.
She explained: “As long as I’m on ‘Riverdale’, I have to stay pitch-black, but I don’t know what I’m going to do when this is all over. It really depends on what role I’m going to play next; I always like to think of how I can make myself look different from my last role through my hair.”
But once she has left, Camila is considering chopping her hair off into a “low maintenance” bob.
She continued: “I’ve always wanted to do an above-the-shoulder bob. I love the low maintenance of it… [and] I think would be really fun and chic. But in a few years’ time, who knows what I’m going to want to do?”

Bond girl Lea Seydoux recreates Marilyn Monroe shoots for Louis Vuitton ad

OHMYGOSSIP — Léa Seydoux has recreated Marilyn Monroe’s famous photoshoots for her latest Louis Vuitton campaign.
The 35-year-old actress recently channelled the late Hollywood legend for Vogue magazine, and now she has posed naked in bed with just the fashion house’s Capucines handbag like the famous portrait Eve Arnold took of Monroe.
Léa also recreated Bert Stern’s shoot that took place six weeks before the iconic actress died in August 1962.
Vuitton said in a statement: “The campaign portrays the intimate relationship between a woman and her bag and highlights the timeless elegance of the Capucines bag.”
Léa added: “The Capucines represents for me the quintessence of French know-how. I am very proud to be the ambassador of this bag that I love and wear every day.”
A spokeswoman for Vuitton added that while Monroe was “an everlasting source of inspiration”, they also wanted the snaps to showcase the “fantasy of Bond girls”.
Léa is set to return as Madeleine Swann alongside 007 Daniel Craig in the upcoming James Bond film, ‘No Time to Die’.
And the movie star recently admitted she doesn’t like the term Bond girl and thinks Bond women are as much of an “object of desire” as Bond himself.
She said: “The roles have evolved a bit – the title is a bit old-fashioned now. I don’t think that a Bond woman is any more an object of desire than Bond is. With him, I think there is a female gaze – you look at him in a sexy way. When he gets out of the water in his trunks, he’s eroticised. It’s obvious!”

MUA wannabe Harper Beckham gives mum Victoria a makeover

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham’s daughter Harper gave her a makeover.
The 46-year-old fashion designer was treated to a glam session by her nine-year-old daughter – who used her parent’s eyeshadows from her eponymous beauty line.
Harper detailed each stage of her process in a video on Instagram.
She said: “So, right now I’m doing some Tea Rose on my mummy. Next, I’m doing some Golden Honey.”
Victoria captioned the clip: “How MUA #HarperSeven does Lid Lustre: a wash of Tea Rose allover & a dab of Honey in the crease. Add a swipe of Future Lash Mascara and that’s my go-to eye for spring! (sic)”
Victoria and Harper love to have pamper sessions and the Spice Girl – who was known as Posh Spice in the girl group – recently treated her daughter to a £129 facial.
Victoria shared a picture of Harper having her facial done by skin specialist Teresa Tarmey.
She captioned the post on her Instagram Story: “Facial day with mummy.”
The ‘Mama’ singer previously revealed that after a long day’s work, Harper is always on hand to help her wind down and relax at home.
She shared: “Harper often makes an Epsom bath soak for me when I get home from work. She’s also into beauty treatments which is really sweet. Sometimes we make our own face masks with a little manuka honey and organic oats.”
Victoria – who also has three sons with husband David Beckham – thinks it is a real “luxury” if her evening allows her time not only for a pampering session but also to fit in reading a chapter from a book.
She said: “My Cell Rejuvenating Power Serum and Priming Moisturizer are my nightly staples to repair my skin while I sleep. The serum changed my skin and is the power player in my regime. “Sometimes I have the time to add a face mask and read a few pages of a good book – luxury.”

Stella McCartney creates vegan clothes made from mushroom leather

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney has become the first to create clothing from mushroom leather
The 49-year-old fashion designer has teamed up with Bolt Threads to use Mylo, a leathery fabric made from the root system of fungi, for a black bustier top and utilitarian trousers.
Although the pieces won’t be made available to purchase, McCartney plans to use the fabric in her upcoming collections.
McCartney – whose eponymous label avoids using leather, feathers and fur – commented: “I believe the Stella community should never have to compromise luxury desirability for sustainability, and Mylo™️ allows us to make that a reality.”
McCartney previously used Mylo for a prototype of the brand’s signature Falabella handbag, which was later featured in the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Fashioned from Nature exhibition.
Mylo is soft, resembles vegan leather and is made from the infinitely renewable mycelium, and the two pieces were handmade from panels of mycelium-based material laid on recycled nylon scuba fabric at McCartney’s London atelier.
Dan Widmaier, founder and chief executive officer of Bolt Threads, said: “At Bolt Threads we know that what worked for a planet with 1 billion people won’t work for a planet with 10 billion, which is why the need for smarter material solutions is more critical than ever.
“Since the early days of developing our Mylo material, Stella has been instrumental in bringing it to life and helping to evolve it into the high-quality leather alternative it is today.”
It comes after McCartney recently launched a sustainable collection made from what was left from previous seasons and requested materials from other retailers.
Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter said: “A lot of these pieces are limited edition because when we run out, we run out. I don’t care if I’m cutting off my nose to spite my face, I’m going to save the bloody planet. We’ve got to find other people’s waste.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley uses social media for fashion inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley uses social media to find fashion inspiration.
The 33-year-old model tends to follow designers on Instagram that influence her style more than magazines nowadays.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “My social media is really filled with destinations and architecture and buildings and books and art and sculpture, and then peppered in with some great tastemakers and designers and artists who I really love to follow. So for me, that’s definitely altered the way that we consume and interpret fashion, because before, we would see that all in a magazine that we’d get once a month.
“As a young girl, I would literally race home off the school bus as a teenage girl, because I knew what day the magazine was going to arrive at the house. And so now, we have that just in our hand all day long. So obviously, it alters the way you consume, because it’s so instantaneous.”
Rosie is careful not to overindulge in social media as she does not want to contribute to fast fashion by purchasing new clothes or shoes all the time.
She continued: “I try and pay special attention to that in a way, because I think sometimes it can lead you down the wrong path of overconsumption certainly, and it can lead you down the path of following trends as opposed to staying true to yourself. So I try and spend special attention when I do have that urge of really asking myself questions of, ‘Is this about buying less but better?'”
What’s more, the ‘Transformers’ star has opted for a more “grounded” approach to her style since the coronavirus pandemic has restricted people to their homes.
She added: “I think that I’ve found the general conversation around style and beauty has changed so much over the past year, but that there’s a sense that we absolutely still want to be able to wear something and we absolutely still need to apply makeup or skincare products, but there’s a more grounded sense to it. There’s a more personalized, simple approach to it—a less is more approach.”

Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK, she added: “Health and wellness are something I’m hugely passionate about. I think it’s so important to take care of yourself from the inside out. Kris Jenner raids Khloe Kardashian’s closet

OHMYGOSSIP — Kris Jenner often raids Khloe Kardashian’s wardrobe.
The 65-year-old momager has been snapped in similar outfits to her daughters – Kim Kardashian West, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner – over the years but is most likely to head to Khloe, 36, for style advice.
Shown pictures of her and Kim, 40, wearing the same Valentino dress, she told Vogue: “It was funny because Kim actually has the same dress. People often thought I borrowed Kim’s dress, but nope, we both had the same Valentino dress.
“A lot of us have the same taste at the same time. So there was often times where we would all buy the same thing. Khloe and I raid each other’s closets the most because we’re probably the most similar in height, size, and style.”
Meanwhile, Kris revealed she is the biggest fan of Chanel.
She said: “I have always had a love for Chanel. I would go to the newsstand and buy all the Vogues from all over the world, and I think they featured so much Chanel that I was just obsessed with it.”
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star’s love for Chanel paid off when the French fashion house’s late creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, gifted her a black and white bag.
Shown a picture of her holding the purse, Kris recalled: “The bag that I’m carrying was a personal gift from Karl Lagerfeld. The first time we were in Karl’s studio, and Kim was shooting with him, I was dressed in head-to-toe black and white Chanel, lots of Chanel chains, you know my thing. And he thought the look was really good.
“And he pulls out this bag and he said, ‘This was on the runway, the last fashion show, and I’d love for you to have it.’ And I was in shock.”

Lisa Rinna was ‘nervous’ to launch lip kits amid the pandemic

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Rinna was “nervous” about launching her lip kits amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 57-year-old actress released the line of lipsticks and glosses through her beauty company, Rinna Beauty – which is in partnership with SEL Beauty – in November but was initially worried they wouldn’t sell as everyone was wearing face coverings to help flatten the spread of the virus.
Cheryl Krakow, founder and president of SEL Beauty, said: “We were very nervous about launching a lip line when everybody was wearing masks, but I will tell you that we started with a pre-sale, and the day we started that, our computer system crashed. There is definitely an appetite out there for a Lisa Rinna beauty line.”
The line was constantly pushed back from its original release date in September due to the pandemic and Lisa admitted it was “challenging” to stay on top of the new measurements.
She told WWD: “It was very challenging. We just had to really be on top of it. We didn’t know any better. Do you know what I mean? Like, here we were, and we had a deadline, and we were trying to make it with the added, you know, COVID-ism of the world.”
However, ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star was “over the moon” with the response she received from her products once the lip kits were dropped.
She added: “I just was over the moon about it. For me, when I create something that I want to share with people, of course, I want them to love it. Of course, I want people to love it as much as I do, but you just can’t ever tell.
“The Bravo crowd — I’ve been involved with for seven years now — they have always been really supportive. And I just think that people were possibly ready for this. The comments have been so positive. What makes me the most excited is that people love the way this product feels. They love the quality of it, and that was so important for me … Sometimes with celebrities, people think that it’s not going to be as good as mine turned out to be, and people were really surprised by how luxurious it is.”

Alexa Chung: I was concerned about style as a kid

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexa Chung was “concerned about style” as a child.
The 37-year-old fashion designer knew she would have a career in fashion from a young age as she showed an early interest in clothing compared to other youngsters her age.
Speaking in an episode of ‘Vogue Visionaries’ , she said: “When I was a child I really liked clothes. I would say more than most children do. I was very concerned about style and outfits. I used to go to the hairdressers with my mum, I would read Vogue and be like, ‘Woah, Wow!'”
Alexa’s dad encouraged her to find a career in fashion illustration but she initially applied to study English and Art before being scouted by a modelling agency at the age of 16.
She explained: “My dad was quite keen on me being a fashion illustrator or at least would buy me books around that theme. Books about old costumes or that amazing book ‘Fruits’ about Tokyo street style.”
The television presenter never lost her passion for clothes and launched her own fashion label in 2017.
She has since dubbed herself a “librarian” when it comes to clocking other people’s fashion choices but tends to just throw on her own wardrobe.
Alexa added: “I’ve just always loved clothes. I don’t find them boring, they could never bore me and I’m a real librarian about them and do a big stocktake of any new person that walks in. I’m interested to look at their outfit and how they put it together and what they’re wearing. I’m a train spotter for clothes, even though in my vibe I’ve always been like, ‘Oh no, I’ve just put it on.’ ”
Alexa believes her journey to starting her own company was “quite unique” as it was luck that she was scouted and went on to meet the leaders of the fashion industry.
She explained: “My experience and journey to starting my own company was quite unique as it came about in increments and a lot of lucky opportunities…I was offered a few collaboration deals. I really really enjoyed learning about denim, about pattern cutting and the process.”

In a since-deleted post on her Instagram page, Lissa spilled: “The process is real when you’re doing it right. 6 weeks to get all the black out of her ends without damaging it, along with her following my strict haircare regime. We actually loved all the stages of lifting color but the end result is (sic)”
While alongside a series of snaps with Billie rocking her new hairdo, she added: “So proud & honored. Hailey Bieber: Getting dressed up in lockdown was good for my mental health

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber says getting dressed up in lockdown was “good” for her “mental health and well-being”.
The 24-year-old model has admitted that while she lives for wearing loungewear at home, she started to get glammed up and put together ensembles towards the end of 2020, to give herself a pick-me-up.
She told British Vogue: “I love wearing sweatpants. I love being comfortable and cosy so during lockdown, you know, being in sweatpants, I was just kind of like, okay, you know, it didn’t feel like it was like that different of a situation for me because I wear sweatpants a lot, and I incorporate big comfortable sweatpants into my personal style.
“For the first four months of the pandemic we were at our home in Canada and we were in full lockdown so we couldn’t go anywhere.
“There was nothing to do, there was nothing to dress up for. So towards the end of that, I started getting dressed at home and putting outfits together at home. I feel like it was good for my mental health and well-being, and it felt good for me to even just put together outfits.”
Hailey – who is married to pop megastar Justin Bieber – also admitted she finds it stressful walking red carpets and has embraced wearing a mask because it makes her “less self-conscious” when she is being papped.
She said of the pandemic: “I actually really enjoy it and it’s made things a lot less stressful and easier.
“We [Justin Bieber] can go out for date nights and dinners in LA, and honestly like I know a lot of people are over the masks and stuff but I’ve enjoyed getting to wear masks in front of paparazzi. I feel like it makes you a lot less self-conscious – it takes away a little bit of the stress of being photographed.”

Paris Hilton recalls looking like ‘an alien’ with bleached brows

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Hilton has recalled looking like “an alien” when she got her eyebrows bleached for a Vogue photoshoot.
The 40-year-old socialite was told having her brows dyed white was “so high-fashion” on a shoot for Vogue, but she got a shock when she looked in the mirror.
She recalled: “They made me bleach my eyebrows once. We were doing this Vogue shoot. They were like, ‘This is so high-fashion. We’re going to bleach your eyebrows white. That’s going to look beyond.’
“It’s this huge photographer so I felt bad. I’m like, ‘Okay fine.’ I literally looked like an alien with like the biggest forehead in the world. I looked terrible.”
What’s more, when she tried to dye her brows back to her natural light brown colour, she ended up turning them orange, black and red.
Speaking on her ‘This Is Paris’ podcast, she continued: “Then I had to figure out how to get my eyebrows back to normal.
“I’m dyeing them and they’re turning orange. Then they’re red. Then black. And I’m like okay this is literally the biggest nightmare of my life.”
Fortunately, “eventually they faded” and she “could go in public with normal eyebrows again.”
Meanwhile, the former ‘Simple Life’ star has just been unveiled as the new face of Lanvin.
The DJ and Hilton hotels heiress is the star of the French fashion house’s spring 2021 campaign.
She said in a statement: “I’m humbled to be working with Lanvin for their Spring/Summer campaign and to be able to contribute to the brand’s legacy. “I’ve always been a fan of the house and personally admire the founder Jeanne Lanvin. She was able to build an empire from one small shop that still exists 130 years later. Her entrepreneurial spirit is so incredible — remind you of anyone else?”
Paris transformed into a modern-day version of a 1950s socialite, known for their draped dresses, ballerina pumps and jewelled sunglasses for the campaign.
The brand’s creative director, Bruno Sialelli explained how he wanted to switch up Paris’ “glimmery style” to hone in on her natural beauty.
He said: “She is quite known for her long blonde hair and glimmery style and we wanted to shed light on her ability to transform — much like a swan. “As the originator of the influencer movement and the idea of ‘famous for being famous,’ I wanted to show the world how far she has come in the industry that she created. We stripped back the styling and allowed her natural beauty to be captured.”

Jameela Jamil: Clothing and make-up choices should come from a place of fun not fear

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil wants women to feel able to wear what they want without “fear”.
The 35-year-old actress says girls should have “fun” with their outfits and glam and not feel they have to wear clothes that make them look skinnier or wear lashings of make-up to conceal the parts of their face they “hate”.
Jameela has also called for more “diversity” in magazines and in the media to inspire women of all backgrounds to feel confident in their appearance.
She said: “I would like for us to not feel like we have to do anything. If we choose to wear make-up we do it in a fun celebratory way and that highlights the bits that we do like rather than covering up everything that we hate. I don’t want to paint a new face on top of our faces. I would like us to have comfortable nights out, I don’t want our feet to be bleeding at the end of the night. How are we even going to wear heels after this is over? I want us to be more individual, I want more diversity in magazines and media, so that we can see people who are diverse in their appearance walk with confidence. And I don’t want people to wear clothes that are trying to make them look thinner that they can’t eat or breathe in. I want us to make all our decisions from a place of fun rather than a place of fear.”
The ‘Good Place’ star is promoting The Body Shop’s global self-love campaign and insisted that it’s important to spend time not wearing make-up in order to not be “repulsed by that image”, while she spoke of how damaging it is to constantly edit selfies.
Speaking to Who What Wear, she added: “I think if you feel like you can’t leave the house without it or you apologise when you don’t have it on. That’s a problem. I think there’s a way to be celebratory with make-up but I think you have to spend as much time without it on, so you’re not repulsed by that image. I think it’s really important to not edit your photographs too, as the detriment it does to you is so little explained. One of the things that really drew me to The Body Shop when I was a kid is that they didn’t edit their photographs. It was one of the only places I see goosebumps or pores or body hair.”
