“But I absolutely adore it here. From day one I was welcomed with open arms by the most wonderful people.

Kristin Cavallari: I’m not a big make-up girl

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristin Cavallari is “not a big make-up girl”.
The ‘Hills’ star has revealed that her day-to-day make-up routine consists of just brows and mascara, as she likes to opt for a low-key look when she is not walking a red carpet.
She insisted: “To be honest, I’m not a big make-up girl. I love getting all dolled up to do press or walk the red carpet, but in my day-to-day life, I’m minimal. For me, it’s really about having a great skincare routine to let my natural skin shine through, but when I dabble in make-up, I fill in my brows and do my mascara.”
The Uncommon Beauty founder – who has Camden, eight, Saylor, five, and seven-year-old Jaxon with Jay Cutler – always prioritises self-care when she isn’t on mom duty, because she insisted it’s impossible to look after her brood if she doesn’t feel “energised” herself.
She told Byrdie.com: “When I don’t have [the kids], I make self-care a priority. Hair washing, taking a bath, putting on a face mask, doing all of those things are all a part of my self-care ritual. I also do hot yoga.
“If we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t take care of anybody else. When I get my kids back, I am fully energised and ready to go. I am the most present I’ve ever been – I am right there with them the entire time.”
On what inspired her to launch her clean beauty brand, she added: “The inspiration actually came from constant questions about my skincare routine. Curious about the products that I was using at the time, my team and I sent them off to our lab. They tested everything. When the results came back, I learned that the products I thought were clean and high-end were actually the complete opposite. They were full of silicones, fillers, and everything that ages us. Right then and there, we decided that we should create a line of beauty products that are clean and really effective.
“I know what works really well for my skin and what doesn’t. From there, my team and I put together a list of items that we wanted to create. We ultimately decided to launch Uncommon Beauty with five core products that serve as the foundation for the perfect skincare routine.”

Rina Sawayama always wears vintage on the red carpet

OHMYGOSSIP — Rina Sawayama always wears vintage clothing on the red carpet.
The 30-year-old singer – who wowed in an archive Balmain lilac gown from creative director Olivier Rousteing’s 2019 debut Balmain couture collection at the BRIT Awards on Tuesday (11.05.21) – has revealed she doesn’t own a lot of the pieces she wears on shoot or at award shows.
She told Vogue.co.uk: “I don’t think many people realise that whenever I do shoots or performances, whatever I’m wearing is either vintage or a sample that gets passed around. I don’t actually own that many clothes… a lot of sweatpants!”
The ‘XS’ hitmaker felt “so honoured” to be asked to pick an outfit from Rousteing’s archive collection.
She added: “I love Balmain. I remember when Olivier came out with his first collection it was these amazing structural, ornate dresses. Every single collection since then has been such a major fashion moment. I’m so honoured to be wearing this piece – it’s absolutely beautiful and so detailed.”
And the 33-year-old designer was just as thrilled that an “iconic singer” like Rina would pick a piece from his inaugural Balmain couture collection.
He said: “We had it playing in the studio the whole summer.
“It makes me quite emotional that such an iconic singer like Rina would want to wear something from one of my archived collections. I was only 24 when I started at Balmain, so it really means a lot.”
Meanwhile, Rina previously revealed she likes to try bold beauty looks that disguise her face by thinking of a different personality and working out what type of make-up they would wear.
She said: “My idea of beauty is being a bit of a chameleon, I think, surprising people. I always pick a character, the person who I wanted to be on stage, and then think about how they would do their makeup. “I have a whole collection of make-up looks I love, and I love that, and I’m not scared of that.”

Nicki Minaj’s nude Crocs snap ’causes website to crash and spike in sales’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj’s nude snap in a pair of custom hot pink Crocs reportedly caused a 4,900 per cent spike in sales of the footwear.
The 38-year-old rapper posed with just two fluffy heart pillows covering her modesty and a pair of bedazzled Crocs, featuring Chanel’s iconic double-C logo, this week.
And according to Page Six Style, fans went clamoring after a pair of Crocs and the website went down after the striking snap was shared.
It’s not yet known if the ‘Super Bass’ hitmaker is working with Crocs on a campaign.
However, she wouldn’t be the first musician to team up with the brand, with the likes of Justin Bieber and Post Malone releasing their own Crocs collections.
The latter recently donated 10,000 pairs of his sold-out Duet Max Clog II Crocs to frontline workers at 70 US hospitals.
The ‘Better Now’ hitmaker teamed up with the Musicians on Call initiative – a non-profit organisation which “brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities” across the country – to provide the hospital staff with the popular shoe in appreciation of the sacrifices they are making every day to care for their patients amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Musicians on Call President and CEO, Pete Griffin, said in a statement: “The stress of the pandemic on staff in all areas of the hospital has been unrelenting and we have been doing what we can to continue bringing them the joy of live music. We are so grateful to Post Malone and Crocs for joining us in providing even more relief when they need it the most through this generous donation. “Thanks to them, caregivers at 70 hospitals nationwide will have the added support of their Crocs to help them through their day.”
He also gave every student at his old Texas’ Grapevine High School a pair of the custom Crocs.

Raye’s BRIT outfit pays tribute to Marilyn Monroe

OHMYGOSSIP — Raye paid tribute to Marilyn Monroe with her BRITs outfit.
The 23-year-old singer and her stylist Shaquille teamed up with Bulgari to recreate the iconic pink dress the 1950s movie star wore in ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ for her appearance at the music awards on Tuesday (11.05.21).
She donned a hot pink, figure-hugging gown with matching opera gloves and statement diamond choker, earrings and cuffs.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “We’ve got pink gloves, we’ve got diamonds darling – we are having a great time. I definitely never shy away from making a statement with my jewellery and I love the bold fearlessness that comes with a Bulgari piece. You don’t wear Bulgari unless you are going out out for something really fabulous like tonight.”
Raye also styled her hair with old Hollywood-inspired waves to pay tribute to her favourite era as it compliments curvy bodies.
She explained: “I am so obsessed with the Fifties and Sixties – I feel like everyone is really loving that era of Hollywood fashion at the moment, which I think is incredible. I am so in love with it. I think that style of dressing is just so flattering on a curvy woman – it’s all about just embracing our hips and boobs and I just love it.”
The ‘By Your Side’ hitmaker revealed that she likes to have “fun” with her outfits on the red carpet but prefers to dress “freely” when she performs on stage.
She added: “On stage, I like to perform really wildly and freely – I am running around and jumping about, I don’t want what I am wearing to restrict me, so my stage outfits actually have to be a bit more practical. On the red carpet, that’s where I feel less pressure and can have more fun with what I wear.”

Gemma Chan’s self-care

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Chan prioritises self-care after the last year.
The ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ star knows how crucial it is that she takes time for herself, especially after the coronavirus pandemic, as it is has given her a chance to “slow down”.
She said: “I think over the past year, with the upheaval in the world and the anxiety that so many people have been feeling, having time in your day that’s for you to slow down and really prioritise what your needs might be is incredibly important … I think many women, and particularly women of colour, will often find themselves in situations where no one else may look like them or have their background. You do have to remind yourself that you have a voice and you have the right to be there.”
And the 38-year-old actress also opened up about self-confidence, revealing a bold red lipstick helps her feel confident, as well as the inspiration from her mother.
Speaking to People magazine, she added: “One of my first inspirations is my mom. She’s an incredibly strong woman, very brave and also very loving. She instilled a very strong work ethic in me, and she’s still who I would call up if I need advice. She’s very brave and loving. And, both of my grandmothers were my first examples of women who really knew what it meant to sacrifice, but also to uplift others.”

Penelope Cruz loves cutting hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Penelope Cruz loves to cut people’s hair.
The 46-year-old actress grew up in her mother’s salon, where she learned how to cut and style hair and has continued to practise the trade on people since her teens.
Asked who gave her the best beauty advice, she said: “It’s from my mom. I learned so many things from her by observing at the salon for all those years and practicing on whoever put their trust in me. I love cutting people’s hair!”
She also admitted to once cutting Selma Hayek’s hair in the dark before a premiere as the power went out in the building.
Penelope recalled: “I did Salma’s hair and make-up right before a premiere and the house lost power. So, I had to do it by candlelight! It was a tough challenge.”
Penelope has remembered the beauty tips she received from her mother and has tried to incorporate them into her beauty routine to keep her hair healthy.
She explained: “[I care for my hair] Almost all by myself! I grew up at my mother’s hair salon so I know a few tricks for keeping it healthy. I know how to cut people’s hair, colour it and how to do a blow-dry.”
However, she once asked her mum to give her a perm when she was teenager and has since regretted the hairstyle.
Recalling her craziest beauty moment, she explained: “Probably the perm I asked my mom to do on my hair when I was 13, inspired, like many other women, by Julia Roberts.”
Now, the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star likes to wear her hair “natural” or attempts to make it look messy by adding extra volume to her roots.

Daisy Lowe’s interest in sustainable fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Daisy Lowe has taken an interest in sustainable fashion.
The 32-year-old model doesn’t want to be “preachy” about the importance of making fashion sustainable but she has urged people to make their own choice to live either “consciously or unconsciously”.
She said: “I work in fashion and I love clothes but I also love the planet so it’s a constant juggle. I don’t ever want to be preachy. When you try and shove things down people’s throats it never goes down well but as far as sustainability is concerned, you can either live consciously or unconsciously.
“Everyone has been guilty and no one is to blame, we’ve kind of inherited the way we exist on this planet. However, I think it is really important to share the ways in which it’s possible to be kinder to the planet. You don’t have to say, ‘I’m never travelling again and I’m never buying anything again’ but there’s little tips and tricks that you can do to minimise your carbon footprint and buying designer vintage is one of those. In relation to fashion, I’m not saying don’t ever buy that amazing Chanel handbag that you’ve always wanted and saved up for but it’s about choosing your pieces really wisely rather than cheap items of clothing that after you wash them once or twice they’re falling to pieces, save up four times that amount and have something that you can have forever.”
Daisy thinks the coronavirus pandemic has made people more “conscious” about where they spend their money.
She told Tatler magazine: “Because we’ve been in lockdown on and off for over a year, sat in our own thoughts, I think people are so much more conscious about where their money actually goes. I think that there is a real shift. I don’t think there was any other way we could have done it.”

Lana Condor swears by organic soap for brows

OHMYGOSSIP — Lana Condor uses organic soap on her brows.
The ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ star has shared the beauty tip she was taught by her make-up artist and swears by the technique because her eyebrows tend to “droop”.
She explained: “My make-up artist, Melissa Hernandez, taught me to use a clear organic soap on a spoolie to brush out your brows. That is a great trick because my brows just naturally kind of droop down a little. So using the soap to kind of lift them and keep them in place is super effective and also affordable. You don’t have to go out and buy brow gel.”
The 24-year-old actress always make sure she has some face wipes handy and admitted she uses them when she is feeling “lazy” with her skincare.
When asked by Nylon to recommend one product under $10 that people should buy, she replied: “Maybe make sure you have face wipes. I love to wipe my face and take off my make-up with it. It’s just a very convenient way to kind of cleanse your skin. If you’re having a moment where you feel a little lazy in your skincare. And it’s nice to carry around in your bag because you never know when you’re going to need it.”
Meanwhile, the movie star revealed her favourite pair of shoes are her recently purchased classic Gucci loafers.
She said: “I recently just got these Gucci loafers. They’re kind of the classic loafer with a platform that I’m obsessed with and still trying to break in.”
Lana recently landed her first major fashion collaboration with handbag brand Vera Bradley, which was a “full-circle” moment for the movie star.
She said recently: “All the women in my family are huge Vera Bradley fans. When I was younger, I remember always seeing my family toting around their beautiful, bright-coloured, fun bags, and I remember always wanting to be a part of that. And then, when I was 12 or 13, my mom gave me my first Vera Bradley bag to use as my ballet bag when I would go to class, and it felt like very much a right of passage because all of the women in my family had them.”

Dove Cameron: My lip scar adds character

OHMYGOSSIP — Dove Cameron doesn’t cover up her lip scar with make-up because it “adds character”.
The 25-year-old actress has a mark on her upper lip after a dog bit her when she was five, and she has insisted she has never felt the desire to disguise the imperfection.
Whilst doing her make-up, she told British Vogue: “This is a scar from my dog when I was five. It adds character.”
The ‘Descendants’ star prefers to opt for a dewy look that shows off her natural skin by just using a tinted moisturiser.
She explained: “Now, this stuff is amazing. Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser is the holy grail for all dewy looks. If you can still see your skin, you’re winning.”
However, she finishes off the look by adding a pressed powder to stop any excess oil from ruining her make-up.
Dove added: “Throughout the day, my skin is going to continue to get oily in places that I don’t want it to. So I’m gonna go in with this pressed powder.
The tutorial comes after the singer previously admitted she felt like she hit the jackpot with her combination skin type, as it is oily enough to give her a glow and use a range of oils when it gets dry.
She said: “I feel like I’m lucky because my skin is very combination, but in the way that I would want it to be. It’s oily to the point where I’ll have a nice glow throughout the day. But it can get dry as well, so I’m always slathering on, like, nine different kinds of oils and moisturisers.”
Overall, the star thinks she fully understands her skin’s needs and has learned to listen to what products it is craving.
She explained: “Skin is a sort of language that I’ve always spoken. If you’re in touch with your skin, you can listen to what it does and doesn’t like.”

Zendaya celebrated as a person not a model by Valentino

OHMYGOSSIP — Valentino wanted to celebrate Zendaya as a person and not a model for their latest campaign.
The Italian fashion house’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli has highlighted the importance of showcasing the 24-year-old’s “whole identity”, as the ‘Malcolm & Marie’ star shares the same values as the brand.
He told WWD: “This is why I chose her, for all that she represents. Throughout an aesthetic choice, it is possible to represent a whole identity. This is the power of fashion and this is the power of human beings.
“I think it’s fundamental to pass strong messages through the identity of a person and Zendaya perfectly represents the values that I want Valentino to stand for, such as equality and inclusivity. I chose Zendaya as a person, for what she stands for, and not as a model.”
Zendaya was photographed by David Sims at the Palace Theatre in Los Angeles for the Roman Palazzo shoot.
Piccioli said of the snaps: “I like her strong self-awareness, which is conveyed in the images, which are more powerful than words.”
The 54-year-old designer specifically chose David Sims for the job, as he was behind the camera for his Rockstud campaign and the first Valentino ads when Piccioli was named create director back in 2016.
He added: “He was there in significant moments for the brand and for myself and this is another moment of change. Together we can catch the more personal side [of Zendaya].
“These images have an intimate feel, emphasized by the fact that they are in black and white. I did not want a fashion photo but a portrait of a new generation that would represent the new Valentino values.”

Ashley Graham: I hold on to fashion pieces

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham likes to “hold on” to her fashion staples.
The 33-year-old model still owns a pair of Helmut Lang heels she first bought when she was just 18 years old as she finds it difficult to let go of her beloved fashion pieces.
Asked what’s the oldest thing in her wardrobe, she told Sunday Life: “I tend to hold on to things. The oldest is a pair of strappy Helmut Lang heels I got when I was 18. I’m 33, so you do the math.”
Ashley recalled her first fashion memory was when her mother would reward her good grades with a shopping spree, which sprung her love for clothes and wardrobe stapbles.
She explained: “You know how kids get rewarded with money or food? When my sisters and I made good grades, our mom would take us to the mall. We could shop wherever we wanted and buy a certain amount of money’s worth of clothes. I would make good grades just to get the mall with my mom. It wasn’t always the easiest, because not everyone had my size, but it was one of my favourite things to do with her.”
Now, the plus-size model opts for a more “relaxed” style as she ensures she has three essential items in her wardrobe.
She said: “A classic white top: a button-down is always helpful for breastfeeding. Matching sweatsuits. And Commonry leather pants – they’re perfection. If, like me, you have ever been afraid of a leather pant because they always look like a diaper, you have to have them.”
However, Ashley admitted that likes to dress down for a chilled Sunday at home by wearing “big granny panties”.
She added: “Definitely a pair of big granny panties and a cosy oversized sweatshirt.”

Sofia Richie: My sister Nicole Richie’s fashion mishaps were iconic

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Richie says her sister Nicole Richie’s fashion mishaps on ‘The Simple Life’ were “iconic”.
The 22-year-old model has defended her 39-year-old sister’s fashion choices from the early 2000s as they remain as some of Nicole’ most memorable looks.
Speaking to ELLE UK, Sofia said: “[Nicole’s] bad outfits were just iconic. So, how can you diss an iconic outfit?”
Nicole – who has Harlow, 13, and Sparrow, 11, with Joel Madden – donned a range of mini-skirts and baker boy hats during her time filming ‘The Simple Life’ with Paris Hilton between 2003 and 2007 but has since thrown out her old outfits.
She explained: “My daughter just asked me if I had any of my ‘The Simple Life’ outfits saved. I was like, ‘Saved? No.'”
And despite being known for her awful outfits, Sofia would steal Nicole’s ensembles from her closet for herself.
She added: “I loved Rihanna growing up and I loved the Olsen twins. But, I could go to Nicole’s house, go into her closet and steal everything.”
Now, the duo – whose father is singer Lionel Richie – have joined forces to create their first collection with Nicole’s fashion brand House of Harlow 1960 – which she launched in 2008.
Nicole said: “Sofia has been wearing House of Harlow since it began. It felt really natural and something fun to do with my sister.”
Sofia described their working relationship as “fireworks” as they were able to use each other’s creative minds to put together new styles
She added: “It honestly was fireworks because there’s certain things I feel like I couldn’t really put together in my mind that she could, and vice versa. There was certain things she would lean towards me on and I would lean towards her. It was a great partnership.”
Meanwhile, Nicole previously admitted she felt the pressure to be taken seriously when she made her debut as a fashion designer.
She said: “I am a serious designer. At the same time, I’m still me. I learnt very quickly that validation cannot come from someone else. “There are many versions of success and everyone has to define this for themselves . For me, I want to be able to stand behind what I’m doing. Even if it’s a failure, it’s my failure and I can stand behind that.”

Irina Shayk: My daughter helps with my beauty routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Irina Shayk says her daughter loves to help with her beauty routine.
The 35-year-old model has Lea De Seine, four, with her ex Bradley Cooper and she and the youngster have “fun” together when it comes to makeup and her skincare routine.
Asked how her routine has changed since becoming a parent, she told Harper’s Bazaar: “It didn’t really change! Every mom knows how to multitask, so I always find time for my beauty routine. Now that my daughter is older, we have fun together with beauty rituals. She loves to participate in my beauty routine—from scrubbing masks off my face to playing with my favorite creams.”
She continued: “I believe that happiness is the best makeup for a woman. When I’m happy, I feel the most beautiful. Another important beauty secret is to use natural products for self-care – like Alo’s products. They will make your skin look its best. The special ingredient in the Alo products is Amla, an Indian Ayurvedic berry and antioxidant. My skin is always so radiant when I use them.”
Irina believes that “less is more” and focuses on taking care of her skin instead of layering her face with makeup.
She explained: “Beauty comes from inside. A happy and kind woman is always beautiful. I usually do not wear makeup, but I always take care of my skin and use the best beauty products for it. I am definitely not a makeup girl. I love to have my skin clean, and usually only wear a moisturiser and a sunscreen.”
What’s more, the ‘Hercules’ star plans to relay her beauty philosophy to her daughter and teach her some of her Russian beauty secrets.
She added: “Less is more. Be happy in your own skin and be kind to other people. And a Russian beauty secret is to use a cube of ice on your skin in your morning beauty routine.”

Ralph Lauren lands partnership with Major League Baseball

OHMYGOSSIP — Ralph Lauren has agreed a multi-year partnership with Major League Baseball.
The 81-year-old fashion designer’s label will create collections for several of the most popular MLB teams after he first created a special edition Polo x Yankees collection in 2018.
The collection – which first includes the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals – will feature polo shirts, jackets, sweatshirts and New Era caps for adults and children and will include special team-themed Polo Bear polos and sweatshirts.
Ralph Lauren’s son David Lauren, vice chairman and chief innovation officer for Ralph Lauren Corp, told WWD: “We wanted to do something very authentic for the first delivery and that guarantees interest from the fans, and as people see it evolve, we built that into the equation.”
The idea for the collection came after Ralph Lauren’s initial baseball collection sold out immediately after its release following the invitation to throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium to commemorate his brand’s 50th anniversary.
David explained: “It started with the invitation to pitch. I remember him going back to his seat, everybody was cheering and somebody asked him, ‘Ralph, how do I get that jacket you’re wearing?’ He said, ‘You can get it at the store or online.’ And I’m whispering to him: ‘It’s gone.’ He couldn’t believe it was gone by the time he sat in the dugout.”
The collection will be available beginning today at Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, the MLB flagship in New York City, select MLB Club stadium shops, at some Ralph Lauren stores around the world, online and on the Polo app and will be promoted through a digital global campaign inspired by vintage baseball cards that will be featured on murals in key cities.
The fashion house plans to add the Boston Red Sox and other teams to the collection later this year.
