A$AP Rocky’s fashion label plans

OHMYGOSSIP — A$AP Rocky is considering starting his own fashion label.
The rapper hasn’t ruled out the possibility of becoming a fashion mogul like his girlfriend Rihanna but insists he doesn’t want to put a collection out just for the “sake of accumulating capital”.
He said: “Right now, I’m not eager to do that … Maybe next year, but who knows? I really wanted to put myself in a position where I made a collaborative brand as opposed to being a brand that puts out s*** just for the sake of accumulating capital. I’m all about making money! But I want to do it in the right, fly way.”
The 32-year-old rapper likes to “express” himself with his own fashion choices.
Speaking to GQ magazine about his own style, he added: “The nails, the kilts, the pretty-boy swag, the pearls – I think it’s just being comfortable.
“I just express myself with fashion, and what’s fly is fly. I do it on some punk s***. Just ’cause s*** be costing a tag on it and all that, that s*** don’t make it jiggy, bro. That s*** don’t make that s*** fleek.”
Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky previously revealed that designing a women’s shoe collection with Amina Muaddi was “a no-brainer” for him, as they both have a “mutual admiration for style”.
He said: “I know what I like and don’t like in fashion, [and] I love what she does already with the shoes. Amina has an aesthetic and a flow going, just in general, you know, I wanted to make sure that whatever we did it bridged the gap between both of us, and it moved cohesively. It was easy collaborating with Amina. Knowing how passionate she is about her own brand, and knowing everything that she puts into it, it was a no-brainer going into this collaboration, because I already had the experience and was familiar with her work. And [she was familiar with] my aesthetic too. We have a mutual admiration for style.”

Tyra Banks: Naomi Sims is a true inspiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyra Banks says model Naomi Sims is a “true inspiration”.
The 47-year-old model paid homage to the late supermodel, who paved the way for Tyra as one of the first black models.
Sharing a snap of Sims’ October 1969 cover of LIFE magazine cover on Instagram, she wrote: “It is one of my all time faves. It hangs in my home. For those of you that don’t know, this beauty was a model, businesswoman, and author — a triple threat. She was the first Black model to appear on the cover of Ladies’ Home Journal in November 1968.
“She was one of the world’s first Black supermodels, setting the groundwork (and werk!) for so many of us, a true inspiration. My hero (sic)”
Sims – who sadly passed away in 2009 from breast cancer – was best known for being a role model and pioneer for black women.
After she noticed make-up artists and hairstylists didn’t know how to style her dark complexion, the model began styling her own wigs for photoshoots.
Tyra later followed in Sims’ footsteps by becoming the first Black model to cover GQ, the first Black model to cover Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and the first Black model to appear in the Victoria’s Secret catalogue.
Meanwhile, the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ star – who appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1996, 1997 and 2019 – admitted she felt “proud” that her 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue shoot managed to crash the magazine’s website.
She said in 2020: “I was on it, again, last year. And for the first time in the history of the Sports Illustrated having a website – not Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition website, the Sports Illustrated website – it crashed. I’m proud of that.”

Olivia Rodrigo doesn’t have ‘perfect skin’

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo can’t “expect to have perfect skin” all the time as a teenager.
The ‘Drivers License’ hitmaker admitted her skin can flare up at any time but thinks her complexion is nearly flawless for a teen.
She told Vogue: “My skin is alright. I am a teenager. I am 18 and so I cannot expect to have perfect skin all the time. It’s pretty good, all things considered, but I definitely have my moments.”
Olivia explained that she usually gets blemishes on her chin and nose after wearing her mask to help fight against the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
She continued: “My skin loves breaking out on my chin and on my nose. The masks definitely don’t help with the acne.”
She soon discovered she was using the wrong products that were irritating her skin even more but quickly swapped them out for Epionce Milky Lotion Cleanser.
Olivia explained: “I had the worst case of dermatitis. I just broke out all around my mouth. It was awful. I think I was just wearing masks a lot and also I was using a bunch of products that irritated my skin.”
What’s more, the teen never washed her beauty tools until she realised the amount of bacteria that was building up and adding to her irritation.
She confessed: “I never washed them [beauty blenders] or actually took care of them. So, they would just harbor bacteria and my skin would freak out, so I just use my fingers most of the time.”
However, the Disney star quickly learned that “less is more” when it comes to her make-up routine as she likes to be able to show off her natural beauty.
She added: “I think the biggest thing I’ve learned in makeup is less is more, especially with me. Just accentuating your natural features is always the move and always when I feel the most confident.
“I think that the root of your beauty routine should just be for enjoyment and for your own self-confidence.”

Hailey Bieber: Bikinis and sneakers are my vibe

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber finds it bizarre that people think she is “strange” for wearing sneakers with a bikini.
The 24-year-old model is often seen sporting the combination and insisted it’s her “vibe” in the summer.
When she is not in a bikini, the blonde beauty throws on a pair of Levi’s 501s.
She said: “I’m the type of person — and some people think this is really strange — I like to wear sneakers with my bikini.”
Speaking during the Levi’s 501 Day Coffee Chat, she continued: “I was listening to KISS FM radio and they were talking about me wearing sneakers with my bikini on the radio. Is it that crazy that I wore Nike Air Force 1s with a bathing suit? Because I guess the internet was like, ‘Why is she wearing sneakers with her bikini?’
“To me it’s like, I wear a bikini. I put on [Levi’s] 501s and I put on sneakers. That’s my vibe in the summertime.
“If I’m packing for a trip in the summertime, if I’m going away to the beach for the weekend, it has to be a pair of 501s.”
Hailey has been the face of the denim jeans since 2019.
Justin Bieber’s wife previously admitted the collaboration was an obvious choice because she stole her first pair of Levi jeans from her dad, Stephen Baldwin, and she still wears them “today”.
She said: “I’ve been wearing 501 cutoffs since I can remember. They make me feel like me. I still wear them today.”
Meanwhile, when it comes to her style, the catwalk beauty takes inspiration from the designers and creative directors she works with when modelling.
She said previously: “I’ve gotten to work with so many people and get a feel for other people’s tastes and see their style. I’m so inspired by clothes and fashion. I really love clothes, so I pay really close attention to what designers and creative directors do in terms of cuts and fits. I’m big on the way things look and fit on me.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley feels ‘instantly feminine’ in a bralette and French knickers

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley feels “instantly feminine” in a bralette and French knickers.
The 34-year-old model gushed that she had a “lot of fun” getting to design her latest Marks & Spencer lingerie collection as she showed off a set from the line on social media.
Alongside two snaps of her rocking a pistachio-coloured two-piece, she wrote on Instagram: “I love a bralette and French knickers set as I know it will instantly make me feel feminine, and it doesn’t come much better than this pistachio coloured version from my latest @marksandspencer collection. I had a lot of fun designing this. (sic)”
The new collection is vintage-inspired.
In a previous post, she shared: “I took inspiration from the decadent 1920s. It think it might be my favourite collection yet.”
Meanwhile, the catwalk beauty recently revealed she uses social media to find fashion inspiration.
Rosie tends to follow designers on Instagram that influence her style more than magazines nowadays.
She said: “My social media is really filled with destinations and architecture and buildings and books and art and sculpture, and then peppered in with some great tastemakers and designers and artists who I really love to follow. So for me, that’s definitely altered the way that we consume and interpret fashion, because before, we would see that all in a magazine that we’d get once a month.
“As a young girl, I would literally race home off the school bus as a teenage girl, because I knew what day the magazine was going to arrive at the house. And so now, we have that just in our hand all day long. So obviously, it alters the way you consume, because it’s so instantaneous.”
However, Rosie is careful not to overindulge in social media as she does not want to contribute to fast fashion by purchasing new clothes or shoes all the time.
She continued: “I try and pay special attention to that in a way, because I think sometimes it can lead you down the wrong path of overconsumption certainly, and it can lead you down the path of following trends as opposed to staying true to yourself. So I try and spend special attention when I do have that urge of really asking myself questions of, ‘Is this about buying less but better?'”

The 48-year-old actress stunned at the 1996 MTV Music Video Awards in an iconic red Gucci suit, and she recently gave the TikTok star the “ultimate ’90s makeover” that was inspired by the ensemble.
Addison rocked the outfit to the inaugural YouTube Beauty Fest.
Gwyneth gushed: “Oh my goodness, you look amazing. This is really spectacular. I have to say. It’s really stunning.”
To which the 20-year-old internet sensation replied “I love it. I loved it on you, so being able to wear it is really exciting.”
Addison is a big fan of Gwyneth’s style from the era.
She told her: “I’m not gonna lie, I definitely take a lot of my inspiration from the 90s and you’ve had some really iconic looks.”
And the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ star admitted she is loving seeing some of the looks revived this year.
She said: “I personally love the ’90s, of course, so I’m definitely thrilled that they are making a comeback.”
Meanwhile, the Goop founder recently opened up about going commando at the 2012 Met Gala.
Gwyneth has no regrets about wearing no underwear with her Prada dress, which was actually a shirt that came with a skirt, which she chose not to wear because she knows how to maintain her modesty when fashion requires it.
She recalled: “I guess I should mention that this was the shirt, and there was a big skirt that came with it. But I was like, ‘No! … This is great. I love this.’ “You know, you gotta get the weapons out. So I decided to go with just the shirt, and I don’t regret the decision. If I’ve learned one thing, it’s how not to show your vagina on a red carpet.”

Britney Spears ‘loves to switch around her hair’

OHMYGOSSIP — Britney Spears loves to switch up her hair.
The ‘Toxic’ hitmaker’s long-time hairstylist has revealed his client likes to get experimental with the colour and style of her tresses after she debuted a pastel pink look.
Dimitris Giannetos said: “She likes to switch around her hair colour.
“I suggested to try the pink colour because I believe it fits perfect [with] her skin tone and personality.”
Speaking to Page Six Style, Dimitris added: “I’ve been working with Britney for almost five years now, she likes to play with her hair colour and her hair length.
“I’m very honoured she trusts me for all her hair changes.”
Over the years, the naturally blonde star – who infamously shaved her head in 2007 – has had a number of hair styles, from short bobs to lengthy waves and darker shades.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old pop icon recently branded the documentaries about her life and conservatorship battle as “hypocritical”.
The ‘Me Against The Music’ hitmaker appeared to take aim at the latest documentary by the BBC, ‘The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship’, which aired earlier this month.
And The New York Times’ ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary about the conservatorship that she has been living under since 2008, which sparked the #FreeBritney movement.
Although Britney is “deeply flattered” by the attention, Britney slammed such documentaries for doing the “same thing” as the media.
She began in her lengthy Instagram rant in the caption of a video of her dancing: “geez ! ! ! !
2021 is definitely way better than 2020 but i never knew it was gonna be like this ! ! ! ! So many documentaries about me this year with other people’s takes on my life … What can i say … Im deeply flattered ! ! ! ! These documentaries are so hypocritical … They criticize the media and then do the same thing ? ? ? ? ? (sic)”
Britney also doesn’t appreciate the “most negative and traumatising times” from her past being the “highlight”, while she insisted there are many positives to focus on as she listed her plans for the summer.
The ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy’ hitmaker wrapped her post by denying her social media posts are being written by someone else like her former make-up artist Billy Brasfield suggested.
She concluded: “Pssss i dont actually talk to billy b at all so im honestly very confused ! ! ! This is my instagram ! ! ! ! Psssss no paparazzi guy … I didnt want you and your crew following me around ! ! ! ! (sic)”
Billy had said: “The content is her, but … the words are NOT how she feels.”
Meanwhile, Britney previously revealed she “cried for two weeks” following the release of the ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary, as she was “embarrassed” by the feature.

Tracee Ellis Ross feared she’d be laughed at in her 2018 Emmys dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Tracee Ellis Ross feared she would be laughed at for her choice of gown at the 2018 Emmy Awards.
The 48-year-old actress wore a bold fuchsia Valentino Haute Couture duvet gown for the television awards ceremony, and has revealed she panicked that people would mock her ensemble once she was on the red carpet.
She told the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine – of which she is the cover star – that: “I loved it, and then 10 minutes into the carpet I was like, ‘Oh, my God, everyone’s laughing at me.’”
The ‘High Note’ star – who is the daughter of music legend Diana Ross – needn’t have worried, as the dress was a huge hit.
With the absence of red carpet events amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Tracee hasn’t missed the panic and fluster of it all but she does miss getting to express herself through her style.
She explained: “I don’t miss the frenzy of the red carpet. I don’t miss the panic of the red carpet. But I miss beautiful clothes. I miss that form of creative expression for me. I miss glamour.”
Tracee has her mom Diana, 77, to thank for her love of fashion as she used to play with her mother’s clothes growing up.
She said of the ‘I’m Coming Out’ hitmaker’s style: “It’s impeccable. Impeccable. You’ll never meet a person who can fold a more perfect sweater or T-shirt in your life. Everything has a place. It’s actually a great closet to steal from because you can see everything.
“I have always had a lot of courage, joy, whimsy, and bold confidence when it comes to fashion. It’s been a part of my identity since I was in…”
Meanwhile, Tracee previously revealed she never gets rid of her old clothes and still wears things now that she first bought decades ago.
She said: “There will always be dishes in my sink and too many clothes in my home.
“I hate to throw clothes away. “I still have a beautiful Norma Kamali slip dress from when I was 22. I wore it to my brother’s wedding three years ago. My clothes are a reflection of myself.”

Amber Le Bon has ‘mind blanks’ on catwalk

OHMYGOSSIP — Amber Le Bon has “mind blanks” on the catwalk.
The 31-year-old model – who is the daughter of Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and his model wife Yasmin – has revealed she lives in a “constant state of fear” of being in the spotlight and feels so overwhelmed that she often can’t remember walking at fashion shows.
She told Sebastian Shakespeare’s Daily Mail newspaper column: “I live in a constant state of fear. When it kicks in, I have mind blanks.
“I used to get it during a fashion show. I’d walk, and the next thing I’d remember was walking back in. I don’t actually remember being on the runway at all.”
Amber also suffers panic attacks at public events.
She explained: “I also get terrible panic attacks. I was once at an Amanda Wakeley event when suddenly I felt constricted — my it wasn’t working!”
The fashion model has been on the runway since she was 19 after she signed to her mother’s agency but never intended to get into the industry.
She previously explained: “Modelling is something I always said I would never do. But I left school and I didn’t know what I wanted to do.
“Then my mum’s agent offered me some work, and I thought it would be something to do while I decided what to do with my life, and it was paying the bills. And here I am — still working!”
However, Amber feels she has to work “extra hard” to prove her place in the limelight as she had her mother’s big shoes to fill.
She added: “I do feel I had to work extra hard. You have to work to create your own persona and you have more to prove. It took me a while to be able to say to myself, ‘Okay, you’re good at this’.
“I have been working a long time. If I wasn’t doing something right, people wouldn’t still be hiring me.”

Jennifer Garner: Sunscreen is non-negotiable

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner says sunscreen is a “non-negotiable” part of her skincare regime.
The 49-year-old actress – who has Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, nine – is diligent about finishing her beauty routine with sun protection and is working to encourage others to get serious about wearing SPF daily to prevent skin cancer and other damage to your skin.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: “I really believe that putting it on has to be like brushing your teeth. Skin cancer is preventable — all you have to do is get serious about protecting yourself from the sun.
“I tell people, ‘Nothing looks better in your 50s than sunscreen in your 20s.’ It’s really worth it to go the extra mile. And my tricks for that, is that you should just have a wardrobe of sunscreen possibilities everywhere you turn. I have one right by my bathroom, one right by my kids’ bathrooms, there’s a whole pile next to the back door.”
The ‘Yes Day’ star is also adamant about teaching her kids the importance of protecting their skin from the sun’s harsh rays and has developed a strict routine to ensure they are protected.
She explained: “People say to me , ‘My gosh, I have the hardest time, my kid does not want to put on sunscreen.’ But you just can’t let that be an option.
“They know I will take them out and spray them down. You can’t give in.”
What’s more, Jennifer is happy to let her children experiment with her makeup as she wants them to learn how to express themselves.
She added: “I think kids their age are going to do what they’re going to do, whether you let them or not. I’m happy for them to experiment with makeup, but some of my brushes are off limits!
“I don’t have a problem with that as long as their sense of self is strong. However they want to express that is up to them, and it’s great.”

Lana Condor: Vera Bradley partnership was a full-circle moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Lana Condor says her Vera Bradley partnership was a “full-circle moment”.
The ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ star landed her first fashion collaboration with the handbag company after she was given her first Vera Bradley bag when she was 12 years old.
Speaking to Fashion Week Daily, she said: “All the women in my family are huge Vera Bradley fans. When I was younger, I remember always seeing my family toting around their beautiful, bright colored, fun bags, and I remember always wanting to be a part of that. And then, when I was 12 or 13, my mom gave me my first Vera Bradley bag to use as my ballet bag when I would go to class, and it felt like very much a right of passage because all of the women in my family had them.
“Since then, I’ve carried my love for Vera Bradley with me because it reminds me of my family, my mom, and really good memories. When this partnership came to be, I was shocked because it felt like a full-circle moment! I remember the first person I called was my mom, and she was so excited. Something that really attracted me to the whole partnership, besides just loving the brand for so long, is feeling like the brand has always wanted to bring brightness in the world, and spread positivity, and energy. It’s just good vibes in general!”
The 24-year-old actress designed her own Lana Utility Backpack for the brand’s new sustainable Recycled Cotton Collection, which she put a lot of “thought” into to ensure it was versatile for everyday use.
She explained: “Well, my favorite style is the Lana Utility bag … she’s my baby! She’s my favorite because I had the pleasure and honor of being able to design her, and I put a ton of thought into it. Now there’s really something for everyone, which I love, and is important when you’re supporting a brand—it needs to be inclusive. I went with solid black, because I think that it’s totally wearable and versatile. I wanted it to be a set bag, like a travel bag, but you can also use it as your gym bag, or as your hiking bag, or beach bag, or errand bag. I wanted it to be big enough to hold my scripts and my books, and various things I bring to set. It has the ballet print inside that reminds me of my childhood, and I dedicated it to my mom!”
