Alicia Keys: My skin is affected by good energy

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Keys says her skin is affected by “good energy”.
The 40-year-old singer released her skincare line Keys Soulcare that comes with a positive affirmation meant to be spoken as you wash your face as she noticed that she breaks out when she is in a negative environment.
Chatting to Refinery29, she said: “For me, I’ve realised that the glow is about what’s surrounding you, what energy you’re holding and keeping, what people are around you;
“When my skin was not good, it’s because the energy around me was not good. That’s why Keys Soulcare is all about creating the good energy that we all need.”
It comes after the ‘No One’ hitmaker added three body care products to her line – including a Body + Hand Wash, Rich Nourishing Body Cream, and Sacred Body Oil – in hopes of changing the way people view their bodies.
She explained: “I think so many of us feel a certain way about our body and even our experience in our body. So I love that with the Hand + Body Wash, for example, the mantra is ‘I love myself as I am.’ I mean, rub that on your body, think of that, and I feel like it changes everything for the day.”
Meanwhile, Alicia recently vowed to “celebrate skin” with her beauty brand. The ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ hitmaker – who launched the line in December – wanted to give people a chance to not only “explore themselves” but also fill their spirit and share their “light”.
Taking to the brand’s Instagram account, she said: “Wherever you are in your journey to greatness, welcome. I can’t wait to create this community with you. From celebrating our skin to amplifying our voices, this is a space to explore ourselves, fill our spirit and share our light.”

Kate Winslet likes “clean and simple” red carpet dresses

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet likes “clean and simple” red carpet looks.
The 45-year-old actress looked back on several of her outfits from over the years and came to the conclusion she prefers to wear easy dresses whilst on the red carpet.
Speaking to ELLE, she said: “My go-to vibe for the red carpet is simple and clean.”
Although the ‘Mare of Easttown’ star keeps on top of her wardrobe, she has a few spots she gets self-conscious about that her hair and make-up team workaround to make her feel comfortable.
She explained about her outfit for the 2009 Oscars: “Jillian Dempsey did my makeup, and Renato Campora did my hair. I was having some real issues with my skin at the time – properly breaking out around my chin area – it was nerve-racking, and I kept thinking, ‘Oh, God, now I have to go to the Academy Awards like this.’ Jill did an amazing job covering it up, though.”
Kate also spoke about her ensemble for 2016 Academy Awards, saying: “I do a lot of barre and yoga, so my arms are quite strong and muscular, and my trapezoid can actually get quite overworked. I chose a strapless dress for this red carpet, so if I had worn my hair up, it would have exposed that one little area I’m self-conscious about. So Renato did my hair down, which was a welcome change because I hadn’t done it in a long time.”
What’s more, the ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ star has revealed she still has her character’s many wigs from the 2012 film that her kids like to try on.
She added: “I own all of the wigs now, and my kids try them on sometimes. The reason they look so real is that they all have a natural root. And the bright pop of color was yarn dye, not hair color dye.”

The 56-year-old actress was a “proud mama” when her eldest daughter Rowan, 18, donned the red dress she wore to the awards ceremony when she was nominated for her starring role in ‘Suddenly Susan’.
Sharing snaps of Rowan on Instagram, she wrote: “I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom proud mama!”
Brooke’s famous friends gushed over the photos of her daughter, calling the experience a “special moment” for the pair.
Helena Christensen wrote: “Congratulations to your beautiful funny smart girl.”
Debra Messing added: “OH MY GOD that is so SPECIAL!!!!! I remember you in that gown that night! And now your beautiful daughter gets to make new memories with it.”
It comes after the ‘Blue Lagoon’ star – who also has 15-year-old daughter Grier with her husband Chris Henchy – previously admitted she is “jealous” of her daughters’ as they are “well-adjusted” about their bodies and appearances compared to herself as a teenager, as she was riddled with insecurities.
She said: “[My daughters] are so much more mature than I was, so much more confident in their own bodies. “They have the same stubbornness and strength that I do, but are more well-adjusted. I am jealous as all hell about that. But, of course, I created it.” Brooke had a turbulent relationship with her own mother, and she says that dynamic was the reason behind her lack of self-confidence.
Brooke – whose mother Teri was an actress and a model – explained: “My mother would get drunk and say, ‘Why don’t you move your fat a**?’ So, I’ve always believed I had a fat a**.”

Paris Fashion Week to measure environmental impact

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Fashion Week plans to measure the environmental impact.
The French fashion governing body has teamed up with PricewaterhouseCoopers to develop two new tools to measure the environmental, social and economic impacts of its many runway shows that sees fashion houses – including Giorgio Armani – travel to show their collections.
Pascal Morand, executive president of Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, said in a statement: “We have developed a tool that can be duplicated in space and adapted to different types of events. Paris is the world’s capital of fashion, and it has been said that Paris is the world capital of digital fashion with online fashion week. It’s our responsibility to develop the necessary tools in terms of sustainability.”
An advisory committee around the PwC development included fashion show production company Bureau Betak and PR agency DLX, while 37 stakeholders, including fashion houses such as Chanel, Hermès, Kering, model agencies and venues, also participated in the project.
Sylvain Lambert, PWC partner, co-head of sustainability, advising Paris Fashion Week, added: “All the environmental, social and economic parameters are taken into account; it’s a balance. We have to be wary of preconceived ideas: it is clear that one can think that travel has an impact. But we have to know what it encompasses, and the tool will allow that. We have intuition, but we will wait for the figure.”
It comes after the yearly event received scrutiny for its hefty environmental footprint as the shows require editors, buyers, models and other talent and attendees to travel across the globe several times a year.
Cecilie Thorsmark, chief executive of Copenhagen Fashion Week, has already held a test pilot for a system in which houses will have to fulfil 18 minimum standards and score necessary points by 2023 to participate in the event.
He said: “Measurement is an important step to gain insights and knowledge. As fashion weeks organisers, we have an impact and should use it to accelerate the sustainability effort in the industry.”

Aimee Lou Wood’s BAFTA outfit inspired by Brigitte Bardot

OHMYGOSSIP — Aimee Lou Wood’s BAFTA look was inspired by Brigitte Bardot.
The ‘Sex Education’ star arrived at the awards ceremony wearing a Miu Miu ensemble and a beehive hairdo, which was styled by hairstylist Patrick Wilson, who took inspiration from the 60s sex symbol.
He told Glamour: “The inspiration for Aimee’s look drawn from the ’60s – think Brigitte Bardot, beehive silhouettes.
“The dress was Miu Miu and the minute I saw the collar, I knew it had to be a hair-up. I wanted to create something with a nod to Brigitte, but that still felt ‘Aimee’.”
It comes after Dua Lipa also donned a beehive hairstyle for the BRIT Awards last month, and Patrick believes hair trend is making a comeback after women are looking to switch up their hairstyles following lockdown.
He added: “We have been living in a world where we haven’t been able to go to the hairdressers and massively missing the beauty industry as a whole, so I think that women are wanting to wear their hair differently. I feel we all need something fun right now and this is exactly what I wanted to achieve with Aimee hair for the BAFTAs.”
Aimee took home the award for Female Performance in a Comedy Programme with her performance as Aimee Gibbs in the hit Netflix show.
It comes after the blonde beauty revealed she’s in talks about contributing to a script for a possible fourth series.
Speaking as part of a BAFTA TV Awards 2021 Q&A, she said: “I’m actually talking about a storyline for season four at the moment that I’m giving some feedback on. “But yeah, no, we do [talk to the writers], and also Ben [Taylor], our director. Every scene we do [he] let’s us improvise at the end and just keeps the cameras going, which is so fun and lots of it does make it into the show. “But I’d love to be in the writer’s room for [season four] – saying that here. But then again … I’d also like to just go home and learn my lines!”

She said: “I love to wear boots in the summertime: it just looks cool and boots go with everything. Sandals are also essential for summer and of course, a heel! The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star has landed the new role at the hemp skincare brand and has revealed joining the company is just the start of her “slowly moving into the beauty space”.
She said: “I think of it as slowly moving into the beauty space.

The 31-year-old actress insisted it was a “no-brainer” to join Hempz because she loves their products already.
Ashley added to WWD: “It was also the easiest way to become more aware of the products and try different things.
“It just made the most sense, and they’re all products that I really enjoy. It wasn’t a hard thing to say yes to.”
Hempz have confirmed there are plans for them to work on a collection with Ashley in the future.

Besides coconut oil, I use the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream on my hands and lips, Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Brow Gel because brows are important, Peter Thomas Roth’s gold eye patches I love to get my coffee in them and watch everyone stare and that’s really it.”

Britt Ekland: I ruined my face with lip filler

OHMYGOSSIP — Britt Ekland says lip filler “destroyed” her looks.
The former Bond girl was injected with an “experimental” filler by a doctor in Paris three decades ago, and dubbed the experience the “biggest mistake” of her life.
She told Platinum Magazine: “It destroyed my looks and ruined my face. It was the biggest mistake of my life.”
The 74-year-old movie star had to have a series of “excruciatingly painful” corticosteroid injections to dissolve the filler, and she regrets ever having it as she prefers how she looked before she had the treatment.
She added: “I did all of that in my 50s, but wouldn’t consider it again. I have no desire to look any different than I am.
“When I look at photographs of myself before I had it done, I looked very good. I can see that now, but I couldn’t see it at the time.”
‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ star – who played Mary Goodnight, an assistant to Sir Roger Moore’s 007, in the 1974 action-thriller – insisted she doesn’t have any qualms about ageing but tries to look after herself.
She added: “I feel great now, better than I have for many years … getting older happens to everyone. It’s pointless complaining about it or wishing you could change.
“We’re all going in one direction and there is nothing we can do about that … It’s just about looking after yourself while on that journey.”
The Swedish star opening up about her own regrets over lip filler comes after she previously claimed Nicole Kidman, 53, looked like she’d had Botox in her 2003 film ‘Cold Mountain’.
Britt called the non-permanent injections, which relax the muscles in your face to smooth out lines and wrinkles, “fatal” for actresses.
She said in 2008: “It’s fatal when actresses use Botox. I remember seeing ‘Cold Mountain,’ and it really looked to me like Nicole Kidman had been using it.
“Her face was neither sad nor glad — nor anything, she was just like a painted doll. I thought: ‘Why would she do that?’”

The ‘Mare of Easttown’ star has vowed to empower women with her upcoming campaign with the beauty brand.
In a statement, she said: “It’s taken work to get to a place where I make no apology for who I am, where I accept my flaws. I’m delighted to join the L’Oréal Paris sisterhood to say: it takes courage and strength to believe that you are worth it … sometimes, you may not feel worth it at all.
“We all have moments like that.
“But, the more you say these words and believe in everything that you truly are, and however you identify, then with time and belief in yourself, you too will feel worth it.”

Speaking to Allure, she said: “I’ve noticed my face and how it’s changing a little bit more in the last year because there’s just been more time with yourself to look at those things. What I’ve found is that – to my relief – I’m just going easy on myself.
“I’m at an age now where things are changing all the time. The skin on my neck is really different now, the skin on the back of my hands needs some serious TLC.”
Kate previously admitted her confidence was “damaged” by comments about her body.
She shared: “It damaged my confidence. I didn’t want to go to Hollywood because I remember thinking, ‘God, if this is what they’re saying to me in England, then what will happen when I get there?’ Also, it tampers with your evolving impression of what’s beautiful, you know? I did feel very on my own For the simple reason that nothing can really prepare you for … that. But then of course, I had Mia when I was 25. And so all that s*** just kind of … evaporated.”

The collaboration began in 2003 and ended in 2015, when Scott was named creative director of Moschino.

She told Variety: “My wonderful make-up designer, Naomi Donne, actually drew quite a lot from darling Joan Collins, who couldn’t be nicer but who’s played some real meanies.
“She has wonderful narcissism, and of course, that’s what Baroness has got to the ninth degree. She’s dreadful.”
Meanwhile, Emma previously defended her decision to wear trainers when she received her damehood at Buckingham Palace.
The movie star was named in the Queen’s birthday honours for her services to drama in 2018, and went to the royal residence to collect the accolade from the Duke of Cambridge and the ‘Nanny McPhee’ star decided to don a fitted blue pantsuit paired with a pair of white sneakers.

Laura Harrier: My cystic acne forced me to get into skincare

OHMYGOSSIP — Laura Harrier says her cystic acne forced her to get into skincare.
The ‘BlacKkKlansman’ star started paying attention to the ingredients in her skincare routine after her pores became blocked by bacteria and broke out in acne.
Taking part in Vogue’s ‘Beauty Secrets’ series, she said: “So a few years go I got really bad cystic acne all over my forehead. I think it was hormonal, and I was travelling a ton, and I was stressed, and I broke out terribly and I’ve never experienced that.
“It sucked. It was really alarming and it was upsetting. I hadn’t dealt with acne really until my late twenties.
“So that really forced me to get even more into skincare and do a lot of research and figure out how to balance what’s happening on my face.”
The ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ actress noticed that her skin tone on her forehead is a different shade to the centre of her face, and she has heaped praise on brands like Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Selena Gomez’ Rare Beauty for offering a vast selection of shades.
She said: “I don’t go to far into my forehead because I feel my forehead is much darker than the middle of my face. When I’m getting my make-up done, usually they use a bunch of different shades. I’m lazy, so I just dot it around.
“I think it’s so amazing now with brands like Fenty and Rare and there’s so many more shades available to match your foundation. I remember when I was younger and I was modelling and it was insane how many people couldn’t match my skin tone. ”
The 31-year-old movie star used to “cry” when her foundation turned out “grey or ashy” before she started working with top make-up artists.
She added: “I remember crying on set because I would look crazy and be grey or ashy. It never worked and I’m so grateful now to work with really talented make-up artists who know how to match my skin and know how to work with all different shades and all different skin tones.”
