Amelia Gray Hamlin: I want to be glam all the time

OHMYGOSSIP — Amelia Gray Hamlin wants to be “glam all the time”.
The 20-year-old actress is tired of donning loungewear during the coronavirus pandemic and she is now taking her wardrobe to the next level.
She told People: “I want to be glam all the time. My overall fashion vibe right this second is chic and simple, a lot of pastels and just things that are super versatile from night-to-day.”
Amelia gets her fashion inspiration from her mother Lisa Rinna and sister Deliah, as they all have different styles that they can interpret.
She explained: “We’re all constantly bouncing ideas off of the other, and I think that’s really an amazing thing. Because we have three women in the house with three different opinions and different vibes. Sometimes she’ll talk to me and be like, ‘This is not cute,’ but that’s about it.”
However, Amelia revealed that her mother is the most opinionated of the trio.
She said: “My mom, for sure. She is very opinionated. She her own little situation and vibe definitely stamped in. Whereas Delilah and I are open to whatever comes and whatever we’re vibing with in the moment.”
Amelia also explained that she likes to keep her style “simple” with some staple pieces.
The actress – who is dating TV star Scott Disick – said: “I like to keep it really simple. You can have the days where you layer and you do the cool thing, but you can also have the days where you’re literally just in a cream pant and a cream top. You can just chill in it and have no jewellery on. Simplicity is extremely beautiful.”

Gucci launches first animal-free material

OHMYGOSSIP — Gucci has unveiled its first animal-free material.
The luxury Italian fashion house spent two years researching and developing the new animal-friendly material and came up with Demetra, which Alessandro Michele chose in a nod to the Greek goddess of agriculture and new harvest, Demeter.
The first product to be made from the material – which includes raw materials such as wood pulp and bio-based polyurethane – are The Gucci Basket, Gucci New Ace and Gucci Rhyton sneakers.
The parts of the shoe that aren’t made with Demeter are a mix of organic cotton, recycled steel, and recycled polyester.
More items will be added in due course and this is just the start of Gucci’s “evolving future”.
Gucci boss Marco Bizzarri said in a statement: “In our 100th anniversary year, Demetra is a new category of material that encapsulates Gucci’s quality and aesthetic standards with our desire to innovate, leveraging our traditional skills and know-how to create for an evolving future.
“Demetra offers our industry an easily scalable, alternative choice and a more sustainable material that also answers the needs of animal-free solutions.”
Gucci introducing Demetra comes after Stella McCartney recently became the first to create clothing from mushroom leather.
The 49-year-old fashion designer teamed up with Bolt Threads to use Mylo, a leathery fabric made from the root system of fungi, for a black bustier top and utilitarian trousers.
McCartney – whose eponymous label avoids using leather, feathers, and fur – commented: “I believe the Stella community should never have to compromise luxury desirability for sustainability, and Mylo allows us to make that a reality.”
McCartney previously used Mylo for a prototype of the brand’s signature Falabella handbag, which was later featured in the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Fashioned from Nature exhibition.
Mylo is soft, resembles vegan leather and is made from the infinitely renewable mycelium, and the two pieces were handmade from panels of mycelium-based material laid on recycled nylon scuba fabric at McCartney’s London atelier.

Zoe Kravitz teases Channing Tatum over his Crocs

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Kravitz “convinced” Channing Tatum to ditch his Crocs.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star didn’t hold back when she saw the ‘Magic Mike’ star sporting a pair of the slip-on clogs.
While promoting the pair’s upcoming film ‘Pussy Island’ – which marks Zoe’s directional debut – Channing told Deadline: “When someone can just come out and tell me I should not be wearing Crocs, and is so adamant about it, she completely convinced me and I never wear Crocs anymore.”
Zoe responded: “I was just trying to be a good friend, Chan.”
Channing continued: “I get it, but I totally loved Crocs for a hot second, and in one hang she was like, you can’t ever do that again. And I said, ‘OK, fine.'”
The 32-year-old actress then added insult to injury when she explained that she thinks some people can pull off the look – but not Channing.
She insisted: “Just to be clear, there are people out there who can pull off the Crocs thing; I just wasn’t sure you were one of them.”
Crocs have become popular among a number of A-listers, including Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj.
The latter’s nude snap in a pair of custom hot pink Crocs recently caused a reported 4,900 per cent spike in sales of the footwear.
The 38-year-old rapper posed with just two fluffy heart pillows covering her modesty and a pair of bedazzled Crocs, featuring Chanel’s iconic double-C logo.
And fans went clamoring after the shoes and the website went down after the striking snap was shared.

Stella McCartney calls for end to fur trade with protest

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney has called for an end to the fur trade.
The 49-year-old fashion designer, animal rights activist and environmentalist has insisted it’s her “life mission” to give her industry “a conscience” when it comes to the materials they choose to use and how they source them.
Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter voiced her stance as part of the Humane Society International’s campaign.
The organisation “confronts cruelty to animals in all of its forms”.
Stella told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Whether it’s sold here in the UK or farmed globally, barbarism knows no borders, and this effort is key to my life’s mission of bringing a conscience to the fashion industry. I am proud to partner with Human Society International. Please join us in ending this horrendous practice.”
It comes after the activist vowed to “drive change” in the fashion industry to create a “cruelty-free society” for generations to come, and was among those to sign Prince Charles’ Terra Carta Transition Coalitions for a sustainable future at the G7 Summit in Cornwall last weekend.
She said: “My goal is to drive change, encourage investments, and create lasting difference through incentives supporting the next generation. “I hope the G7 Summit will translate our message into policies bringing us closer to creating a cruelty-free society that is kinder to all creatures, Mother Earth, and each other.”
Stella was recently a guest at St. James Palace, where she urged global leaders to introduce new laws or legislation that will “put hard stops” on unsustainable practices in the industry.
She said: “I’m really here to ask all of these powerful people in the room to make a shift from convention to a new way of sourcing and new suppliers into the fashion industry. “One of the biggest problems that we have in the fashion industry is we’re not policed in any way. We have no laws or legislations that will put hard stops on our industry… We need to be incentivized, [and] we need to have taxations looked at to work in a better way.”

Maluma: Eccentric fashion is in my DNA

OHMYGOSSIP — Maluma says his eccentric fashion taste is in his “DNA”.
The 27-year-old singer is known for his bold style choices and has always wanted to stand out from the crowd from a young age.
He told People: “There’s something about it that I love. It’s part of my world. It’s part of my DNA. I’ve been like this since I was a little kid. I remember my mom telling me what to wear. And I was like, ‘No, I want that. I want this outfit or this other one.’
“I have fun with [my look] so it’s not forced. It’s something that for me is organic and natural and I just leave it like that.”
The Latin megastar has just designed an eyewear collection with Quay and drew inspiration from his latest album, ‘Papi Juancho’.
He said: “Quay really knew my essence and how important fashion is to me — so the process was seamless and more about making colour and eyewear structure a highlight. The entire collection was based only on moods and how eyewear can uplift them. I am excited because I haven’t really focused on accessories and I truly want people to take risks with the parts that make fashion more exciting, which to me are accessories.”
The Quay x Maluma So Much Sol line includes colourful cobalt blue lenses, rainbow frames and various shapes.
Maluma shot the campaign on location in Miami so it would mirror the Miami Vice aesthetic of his fifth studio album art.
He added: “I wanted to show all the creativity that was involved with producing ‘Papi Juancho’. That’s why we wanted to make the [Maluma x Quay campaign] match.”
Jodi Bricker, Quay chief executive officer, commented: “The Quay x Maluma partnership has been in the making for quite some time as Maluma has been spotted wearing Quay’s for years and that authenticity is one of the biggest things we look for in a collaborator.”

Miranda Kerr kept leeches after facial

OHMYGOSSIP — Miranda Kerr had a leech facial – and took the creatures home afterwards.
The 38-year-old model was persuaded to have the blood-sucking worms put onto her face to help with lymphatic drainage but didn’t like the idea of them being “discarded” afterwards or being harmed in any way.
She said: “The wildest beauty experience would probably be the leech facial. I was already going to this lady who does magnet therapy and a lot of different things, and one of those things was the leeches.
“She was like, ‘Oh, it’s very good, you know, the lymphatic drainage from your face, and this and that.’ I was like, ‘OK, cool, let’s try it.’ It was a little scary, to be honest. I kept the leeches after the facial because otherwise they would discard them, and I didn’t want them to be harmed.
Miranda – who has Flynn, 10, with ex-husband Orlando Bloom and Hart, three, and Myles, 20 months, with spouse Evan Spiegel – had planned to give the leeches a new home in the pond in the grounds of her house, but things didn’t go according to plan.
She told Hong Kong’s Tatler magazine: “I kept two of them in a big glass jar, and I was planning on putting them in my pond in Malibu the next day. I went to sleep, woke up the next morning, and the leeches had escaped from the jar.
“They were just crawling around my house, and I had to find them, pick them up, put them back in the jar, and take them to the pond.
“Still to this day, Flynn, my 10 year old, talks about it. He’s like, ‘Oh my God, remember that time you got that facial and the leeches escaped?’ ”

Miley Cyrus to front Gucci fragrance campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus is to front a new fragrance campaign for Gucci.
The ‘Nothing Breaks Like a Heart’ hitmaker will be the face of Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Parfum, which will go on sale on 30 July from the brand’s website ahead of an in-store arrival date of 1 August.
Details about the campaign are under wraps but according to WWD, Miley appears in a series of photos and a “fanciful” video directed and photographed by Petra Collins, with Alessandro Michele serving as creative director.
The designer hailed Miley as “an artist with a spirit that is both rock ‘n’ roll and eclectic at the same time.”
The campaign visuals will be released ahead of the fragrance launch next month.
This isn’t the first time Miley has collaborated with Gucci.
Earlier this year, she posted a series of photos and clips from her Super Bowl LV TikTok Tailgate pre-show performance in Florida, in which she was wearing a custom cropped sequinned T-shirt from the fashion house, which featured Alessandro’s lucky number, 25.
And in April, she shared a “short selfie film” ahead of the Gucci Aria presentation, in which she wore a green suit and shades covered with their iconic GG logo, surrounded by the invite to the show, her pet dogs and fake giant mushrooms.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, the 28-year-old singer won the right to use her name as a trademark within the European Union (EU) after lawyers in the continent’s top court annulled a previous decision by the EU patent office to limit the scope of her brand.
Miley’s case with the EU courts dates back to 2014, when the ‘Malibu’ hitmaker sought to trademark the name Miley Cyrus through her Smiley Miley Inc. company with the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for audio and video discs, mobile phone cases, e-books, electronic board games, calendars and other goods.
At the time, Miley’s trademark request was challenged by British Virgin Island-based Cyrus Trademarks Ltd, which had registered the mark Cyrus in 2010.
EUIPO sided with Cyrus Trademarks and cited the likelihood of confusion between the two trademarks, and although Miley appealed the decision, her company failed to convince the patent office last year and subsequently took its case to the Luxembourg-based EU Court of Justice (CJEU).
The court overruled EUIPO’s decision this week, dismissing its arguments that the brands could be confused and that the name Miley Cyrus had no conceptual meaning.
In a statement, the CJEU said: “The mark applied for, Miley Cyrus, has a clear and specific semantic content for the relevant public given that it refers to a public figure of international reputation, known by most well-informed, reasonably observant and circumspect persons.”

Helena Christensen exercises for pasta and cheese

OHMYGOSSIP — Helena Christensen works out so she can eat “pasta and cheese”.
The 52-year-old supermodel exercises regularly but was keen to stress she does so in order to be strong and healthy, not so she can lose weight, though she admitted being active means she doesn’t have to cut back on her favourite foods.
She said: “I work out to make myself stronger, so that my body can be healthy and I can move gracefully.
“[And so I can eat] pasta and cheese. I just would not be able to cut it out. Food is one of my favourite things in life.”
Helena likes to mix up her workouts, but is a particular fan of boxing.
She told Vogue: “I want to do something that is super high-intensity and hardcore, so I won’t be distracted or bored.
“Then I do a lot of conditioning. I walk a lot and sprint, and I try to do yoga a couple of times a week.”
The brunette beauty wishes she didn’t “suck” at meditation because she’s heard so many good things about the discipline.
She said: “I really, really wish I was great at meditating. The amount of times I’ve heard about meditation changing someone’s life… It really frustrates me that I suck at it, but I just do.”
However, she’s found her own way to relax and reach a higher state; through being in water.
She said: “I do a lot of things on my own, at my own pace, in my own little universe. When I’m in water, that’s the highest form of meditation I can experience for sure…
“I want to be in it and around it as much as possible. When I go upstate, as soon as I arrive I just run to the river and throw myself in. It makes me feel alive.”

Dolly Parton wants wig line

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton wants her own wig line.
The ‘9 to 5’ hitmaker is known for her love of hairpieces and she’d like to trade on that by bringing out her own range of fake locks, as well as other hair products.
She said: “My favourite wig is the one I’m wearing on the cover of my book ‘Songteller’. It’s probably the most famous.
“My aunt Colleen Owens, who was my hairdresser at the time, came up with that look.
“Eventually I’d like to have my own line of wigs, hairpieces, and hair products.”
But first, the 75-year-old star is launching her debut fragrance, Scent From Above, and chose to move into perfume because people are always keen to smell like her.
She told HarpersBazaar.com: “I always wanted to do perfume. I love beautiful scents. People follow me down the hall to ask me what scent I’m wearing. Also, Cher has her own fragrance, and so did Elizabeth Taylor!”
Even when Dolly isn’t working, she likes to look glamorous for her husband, Carl Dean – and because she never knows when she’ll be taken by surprise by a visitor.
She said: “Of course, I don’t always go out in rhinestones and earrings. But I like putting on a little make-up every day.
“At home I don’t want to look like a slouch for my husband, Carl Dean, who doesn’t get to see me that much. I wear the wigs, but I also like pulling my hair up in a scrunchie.
“And I put on make-up because I never know who’s going to show up at the door.”
But the ‘Jolene’ singer isn’t a fan of lipstick.
She complained: “Lipstick gets on my teeth. Instead I line and fill in my lips with a Lise Watier pencil, and put M.A.C Lipglass on top.”

Kim Kardashian West had a ‘very clear idea’ for SKIMS

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Kardashian West had a “very clear idea” for SKIMS.
Emma Grede is the founding partner of the reality star’s shapewear brand and co-founder of her sister Khloe Kardashian’s Good American apparel label, and the businesswoman has explained Kim knew exactly what she wanted to achieve from the get-go.
Emma told ELLE UK: “SKIMS was Kim’s idea since she was making her own shapewear back in the day by dyeing it with tea bags to match her skin tone. She had a very clear idea. And I imagine that seeing what I did with Good American made me look like a good and attractive business partner to her – there’s a trust level there. Kim can choose to work with anyone she wants in the whole world, but I really know product.”
Emma hailed both brands for their dedication to ensuring they are as size-inclusive as possible.
She added: “I’m really proud of both SKIMS and Good American for so many different reasons. But mostly, if you walk out on the shop floor SKIMS and Good American will be the brands with the largest size range by far.”
Emma’s comments come after Good American insisted “diversity and inclusion” are at its core.
The fashion company recently responded to the Pull Up For Change initiative – started by Sharon Chuter, the black CEO and founder of UOMA Beauty – which asked brands to reveal the number of black employees at corporate level and in leadership roles.
Good American posted a message on Instagram, which stated: “Good American is here for the @pullupforchange challenge and we’re proud to be one of the first fashion brands to participate. Diversity and inclusion has always been at our core, so we see this as an opportunity to highlight the consistent and constant work our brand has done to ensure our mission is felt at all levels of the company. We are committed to continuing our focus on diversity throughout our organisation: both within the talent and partners we work with and the employees at our office. We refuse to be complacent. Please note that our numbers add up to 99 per cent because we had 99 per cent participation from our employees.”
The company went on to add that 15 per cent of employees are black, 52 per cent are white and people of colour comprise 32 per cent of the workforce.
It also revealed it has a 25 per cent black leadership team and a black female CEO and co-founder.

Dame Joan Collins swears by a ‘good base’ for disguising signs of ageing

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Joan Collins swears by “a good base” for defying ageing.
The 88-year-old screen legend has insisted she doesn’t rely on Botox to maintain her looks.
She told HELLO! magazine: “I’m very fit and healthy now – knock on wood – and I try to look after myself.
“A good base can really help disguise any tell-tale signs of ageing. It’s about base, not Botox!”
The ‘Dynasty’ legend never goes without a “great lipstick” and foundation.
She continued: “I always wear foundation as I believe it helps act as another barrier between skin and harmful elements that can aggravate skin.
“I also wouldn’t dream of going without a great lipstick in a flattering colour.”
Joan is known for her glamorous image and she never felt more beautiful than when she was starring in the soap opera ‘Dynasty’ as Alexis Colby.
Asked when she felt she looked her best, she previously said: “The 80s when I was doing ‘Dynasty’, I came into my own in terms of my looks. I was on 600 magazine covers, so I was quite pleased with myself.”
But the ‘Time of Their Lives’ star admitted she spent years feeling insecure about her appearance because of the harsh comments of Hollywood producers.
Discussing advice for her younger self, she said: “I wouldn’t be as insecure about my looks as I was then. Studios make you feel very insecure.
“You’re too fat or too short or your hair was too straggly and thin. You really get put through the grinder.
“Eventually I started looking in the mirror and thinking, I’m not so bad after all.”
Joan has to travel a lot for her work and has perfected stepping off a plane looking glamorous and fresh.
She said: “I always change into something comfortable – they have great sweatpants made of cashmere at Marks and Spencer and a zip-up top.
“I take off my make-up and I do drink a lot of water but I also drink quite a bit of wine.
“I try to sleep and at the end I put on my clothes, make-up, sunglasses and a hat and then stagger out.”

“I love double-cleansing. I’m almost intense about it a little bit.”
The 26-year-old singer-and-actress swears by the Juice Beauty STEM CELLULAR Cleansing Oil and the Foreo tool.
She added: “I love this cleansing oil because it breaks up whatever makeup I have on my face. And we’re gonna use my little Foreo machine. That’s nice and vibrates and gets everything out. I will swear and live by this thing.”

In short, this manifesto reflects who we are, and who we hope to be.”

Tracee Ellis Ross, Anya Taylor-Joy and Eileen Gu named as Tiffany and Co ambassadors

OHMYGOSSIP — Tracee Ellis Ross, Anya Taylor-Joy and Eileen Gu are the new faces of Tiffany & Co.
The luxury jewellery brand has announced the ‘High Note’ actress, 48, Golden Globe-winner, 25, and model and skier, 17, as their newest global ambassadors.
The trio were photographed by Mario Sorrenti for Tiffany’s brand new T1 jewellery collection, ‘Give Me the T’.
Ross said in a statement: “Growing up, I would often wander through the flagship on Fifth Avenue, imagining myself as a grown woman wearing the bold elegance of Tiffany’s signature diamonds. All these years later, to be the face of this iconic brand and to represent the T1 collection is a dream come true.
“Shooting the campaign was a welcome moment of inspiration and glamour after the challenging year that we’ve all experienced.”
Taylor-Joy said: “I love jewellery that has symbolism in it. I love it to mean something to me. It doesn’t necessarily have to mean anything to anybody else, but I like to look down at my fingers and have a story.”
Gu added: “Wearing a beautiful piece of jewellery, especially one that is meaningful or motivational in a personal sense, is an inexorable feeling — it’s empowering, inspiring and exciting to express myself, to feel seen and heard without having to utter a single word. I’m obsessed with the balance between elegant simplicity and striking boldness that the new T1 collection offers.”
The latter two are also featured in the brand’s Tiffany Knot campaign, the final collection designed by former artistic director Reed Krakoff.

Pharrell Williams launches mentor programme with Chanel

OHMYGOSSIP — Pharrell Williams and Chanel have launched a new mentorship programme.
The rapper’s Black Ambition – which offers a series of prizes to “fund bold ideas and companies led by Black and Latinx entrepreneurs” – and the luxury fashion house have joined force on the two-part initiative that will feature mentorships, workshops, and celebrity guests.
The ‘Happy’ hitmaker said: “I am incredibly honoured by Chanel’s support of Black Ambition. Mentorship is a cornerstone of Black Ambition’s mission and is vital to the success of the next generation of Black and Latinx entrepreneurs.”
The Women Who Lead panel will include the likes of actress Tracee Ellis Ross and Good American CEO and co-founder Emma Grede – who runs the lucrative denim brand alongside reality star Khloe Kardashian.
Harper’s Bazaar’s editor-in-chief, Samira Nasr, is in charge of moderating the panel.
She said: “To the Black Ambition community and future entrepreneurs, I can say that to each and every one of them that I know there’s enough space in the world for them.
“Occupy space. You have come this far. Trust that there is space for you and don’t back down from your dreams.”
The Black Ambition prize finalists will also be given access to the Chanel leadership community and their experts, who will teach them everything they need to know to get their business off the ground.
Pharrell told Vanity Fair: “Even when you have a great business plan you might not find the right operators. [The mentorship program] teaches you all of those things. Success really does have a lot of authors. Usually when you say ‘success has a lot of authors’ it’s a dig at people who didn’t do something but are taking the credit. In this particular sense when it comes to running a business, success does have a lot of authors – there are a lot of signatures needed to cosign to get a brand new idea off the ground.”
