Kylie Cosmetics goes vegan!

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Cosmetics has re-launched as a clean and vegan-friendly brand.
Beauty mogul Kylie Jenner has revamped her products – including her world-famous lip kits – with all-new formulas that are kinder to the planet and cruelty-free.
In a statement, she said: “I’m so proud to relaunch Kylie Cosmetics with all new formulas that are clean and vegan.
“Innovation has come far in the past few years. When creating this line, it was so important to me to commit to using clean ingredients across the board, but to never sacrifice performance. My new lip kit has eight-hour wear and is so comfortable on the lips, and all my new formulas are amazing. I’m excited for everyone to try the new products.”
What’s more, the products will be available worldwide at stores including Selfridges and Harrods in the UK.
Taking to Instagram to announce the re-launch on July 15, Kylie wrote: “The NEW @kyliecosmetics is officially launching on July 15 on KylieCosmetics.com! Everything is clean and vegan, and I can’t wait for you guys to try these new formulas!”
The changes come after Coty acquired a 51 per cent stake in the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star’s business in 2019.
Meanwhile, the billionaire recently revealed she wants her daughter to run Kylie Cosmetics one day.
The 23-year-old reality star is hoping to pass her business ventures down to her three-year-old daughter Stormi – whom she has with Travis Scott – when she’s older, as she hailed the tot as her “legacy”.
She said: “Stormi is my legacy. I’m raising her to be smart and kind and driven. Maybe she will take over Kylie Cosmetics one day? Only if she wants to.”
Kylie said becoming a mother “changed” her as a person, but admitted she’s still growing “every single day”.
She added: “Becoming a mom was the biggest change for me. I’ve grown so much as a person and I continue to grow every single day. I love learning and I’m trying to be the best person I can possibly be.”

Yara Shahidi is the new face of Dior

OHMYGOSSIP — Yara Shahidi is the new face of Dior.
The 21-year-old star is thrilled to be working for a beauty brand that is so dedicated to “creative and artistic progress”.
She told British Vogue: “It’s pretty incredible to join the Dior family.
“Not only do I love all their other ambassadors, but I think even their executive teams in both [the fashion and beauty] spaces are extremely collaborative. I had followed them long before there had been any talks about me properly joining just because of what they represent in terms of creative and artistic progress.”
The ‘Black-ish’ star is a huge fan of Dior’s foundations, as they are the only ones not to cause her to have a breakout.
She said: “I just came off filming ‘Grown-ish’ and that is a 15-plus hour day of wearing make-up.
“Wearing the Dior foundations recently was one of the first experiences not having to deal with breakouts but having a formula that really worked alongside my skin. And that’s the ultimate test, under hot lights and with constant reapplying.”
Yara also hailed the “depth and breadth of the Dior beauty line” and their amazing eyeshadows.
She said: “I’m loving corals shades right now and I think the one thing that is such a treat is the depth and breadth of the Dior beauty line – their coloured liners and shadows are out of this world! Where I used to be in my room mixing pigments together, trying to figure out how to get a certain colour, now I have everything at my fingertips.”
On what she aims to bring to the table, she added: “Hopefully I bring a playfulness to a space that is often so serious.
“Dior have really leaned into what I naturally love about the beauty and fashion spaces, which is a real honour because you can only hope to bring your own ideas to a team that has a skillset and creative vision as large as Dior’s.”

Selena Gomez’s mum inspired her love of beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez’s mum inspired her love of beauty.
The 28-year-old singer has recalled how her parent Mandy Teefey used to take her to work with her at a modelling agency when she was young and how amazed she was by the makeovers she gave the models.
Selena told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s July 2021 issue. “My mum, actually, worked at a small modelling agency in Texas where I’m from.
“She used to do a lot of these photoshoots and work with all these models, she would do their make-up and would take me to work with her. I just loved watching her create, I loved the colours. I loved how she could make someone look completely different.”
The ‘Heart Wants What It Wants’ singer – who is celebrating her own brand, Rare Beauty, going global – revealed that her mum never wore much make-up and so she never felt like it was essential to feel beautiful, something that has informed her brand’s overall ethos.
She added: “My mum, personally, never wore a lot of make-up. So it was cool because I felt like I didn’t need make-up, I wanted it – and that really is a part of my brand.
“Being open, saying you don’t need to look perfect… enhance what you already have. We want you to be proud of who you are and know that you are special, and you are unique and that nobody in the world looks like you.”
On going global, Selena wrote on Instagram: “So excited that @rarebeauty is now global! I’ve put my heart and soul into my brand and couldn’t be more grateful I get to share it all over the world. Was on set today shooting our next campaign -so sad I couldn’t be in each country to celebrate. Can’t wait to visit and see y’all soon!”

Jeremy Scott: I need to create to live

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Scott “has to create to live”.
The Moschino creative director, 45, has revealed the coronavirus pandemic taught him that he needs to be constantly busy and working on new ideas to feel fulfilled.
And one of his creations to come out of the past 18 months is the fashion designer’s film, ‘Lightning Strikes’, which showcases his Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
He said: “Yes. I gave myself a mantra very early on: “My body may be here but my mind is anywhere it wants to be,” meaning you can quarantine my body, but you can’t quarantine my mind. Whatever I could do to keep bringing life and colour and creating, [I did]. I mean, it became very clear to me that I have to create to live. The pandemic did provide food for my imagination. It gave me the imagination to create this film.”
The film stars model and musician Karen Elson and is named after her song of the same name.
Jeremy told GQ Style: “I have been envisioning Karen Elson in this role for a while. She had just released her album of covers called ‘Radio Redhead, Volume 1’. Karen can really sing and I think someone ought to do a musical on her. So I wanted to create this world around her. I wanted to create a timeless era, that old Hollywood, but also a future world, mingled with an essence of Karen working in a 1980s diner.
“She was the perfect muse and when I heard one of her songs called ‘Lightning Strikes’. which doesn’t fit into any musical genre or space in time, in my opinion, I felt it was so perfect. The song was so perfect because you can’t tell the time period it’s from and that’s what I was trying to achieve visually, with clothes, with the set, with the hair, with everything. And that’s how I landed at the name for the collection.”

Scott Disick becomes partner of haircare brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Disick is branching out into the beauty world.
The 38-year-old socialite has been unveiled as a partner for luxury haircare brand In Common Beauty.
A major part of his role will be creating content for the company, while the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star will also help out with the development of the products.
In a statement, Scott said: “Today, men have changed the way they care for themselves — from their daily grooming routines to the nontraditional products they use every day.
“To meet this change, I wanted to partner with In Common. I’ve been a friend of the brand for years and this partnership was a long time coming.”
In Common is a fairly new company, founded by Nine Zero One Salon hairstylists Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri in 2018.
And the father-of-three – who has Mason, 11, Penelope, eight, and six-year-old Reign with ex-partner Kourtney Kardashian – was hired for the role for his “entrepreneurial spirit, as well as [his] passion for self-care, wellness and inclusivity.”
Luxury Brand Partners chief executive officer, Tev Finger, added to WWD: “In Common’s creativity and uniqueness, merged with Scott’s digital flair and eye for personal style, make this an exciting combination.”
Scott launched a fashion brand, Talentless, in 2018 and previously hailed his style as “chic casual”.
He said: “I’ve always loved fashion. Talentless is definitely personal: I’d consider my current style as chic casual, so of course, I want my brand to reflect that.”
And he recently admitted he hopes the brand will become global after launching in the UK.
He said: “You know, I think it’s always so hard to predict that far in advance. Flannels is our first retail partner, the first we’ve chosen to work with, and the move to the UK feels like a huge step. Hopefully in 10 years’ time, Talentless will still be evolving, still growing.”

Hair Don’t Lie: Shakira mortified by 2012 shaggy blonde hairdo

OHMYGOSSIP — Shakira was mortified by her 2012 haircut and blames her mother-in-law for the hair disaster.
The 44-year-old singer had a shaggy blonde hairdo when she attended the French Ministry of Culture in 2012.
And the ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker says her partner Gerard Pique’s mom suggested she get her tresses cut and she won’t be taking any more hair advice from her again.
In a video for British Vogue entitled ‘Shakira Breaks Down 19 Looks From 2000 to Now’, she recalled: “She said: ‘Hey, why don’t you cut your hair? It’s really damaged.’ And me: ‘Ah, uh-huh.’
“Worst mistake of my life. Mother-in-law, I’m not taking cosmetic advice from you again.”
However, the 44-year-old star was a huge fan of her Azzedine Alaia ensemble, as she hailed the late designer for making clothes that compliment shorter women.
She said: “May he rest in peace.
“And I remember it with great affection because he was a great friend. And he always sorted me out every time I had an event because clothes are a tricky topic for me. He sorted me out.
“And, well, they still do, the people at Alaia. I think highly of them … his style has always gelled with the female figure, with a woman who’s not very tall, so they always suited me. It’s a shame about my haircut, mother-in-law.”

Jenna Ortega’s weekly haircare treatment for damaged hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Ortega has weekly hair treatments to relieve her damaged hair.
The ‘You’ star is constantly having things done to her hair for work and swears by Neutrogena’s Healthy Scalp Clarify & Shine Scalp Scrub to help keep her locks looking healthy and shiny.
She said: “I do a lot of things to my hair and it’s constantly being damaged at work, so I like a nice treatment on a Friday night.”
The Neutrogena ambassador also needs to wash her hair more regularly than is recommended because her fine tresses are prone to buildup.
She told InStyle: “I know a lot of people recommend to not wash your hair too consistently, but I have very fine hair and I get buildup really easily,” she shares. “So, I think consistent haircare isn’t the worst thing and also, consistent trims have made the biggest difference in my hair growth and make it feel thicker and stronger.”
Jenna – who is set to star as Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ – also admitted it was “surreal” landing a spokesperson role at Neutrogena as their face wash was popular in her household growing up.
She recalled: “My older sisters used the Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash, and then I started using it once I grew up because I watched them using it. So joining Neutrogena as one of its faces is entirely surreal. I love that the brand wants people to know that internal beauty is most important, and skincare and haircare isn’t necessarily for looking good, but for feeling good. I think that’s a really important message to share nowadays, especially with social media.”

Millie Bobby Brown reveals which fellow actress is her fashion icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown’s fashion muse is Zendaya.
The 17-year-old actress has revealed she looks up to the ‘Greatest Showman’ actress, 24, for style inspiration as well as Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn.
She said: “I don’t know that I have a favourite – I will always reference Audrey Hepburn as someone who just exudes elegance and style. That being said, I also think Zendaya makes really interesting fashion choices and always looks amazing!”
The ‘Stranger Things’ star has loved most of her red carpet looks, but her most memorable is the Calvin Klein By Appointment gown she donned to her first-ever Emmys in 2017, where she was up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Eleven in the hit Netflix show.
She told Cosmopolitan: “It’s hard to pin down just one moment, as so many have their own special meaning to me. If I had to choose, I guess I would say the Calvin Klein By Appointment look I wore to my first Emmys as a nominee in 2017. It was so special and everything I hoped for and envisioned for that experience.”
The ‘Enola Holmes’ actress insisted her style is forever “evolving”, but she has no regrets about any of the outfits she’s stepped out in.
She said: “Style is constantly evolving, and my personal style is no exception. That’s the beauty of fashion. Since I was a young girl, my style has ranged from boho chic to glamorous sparkles to comfy sweats and back again.”
Millie insisted: “I try not to live my life in regret. There might have been an interesting aeroplane look or two over the years … but comfort is always key!”

Travis Scott: My album inspired Dior collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott says his upcoming album influenced his Dior collection.
The 29-year-old rapper was inspired to create his clothing line with the French fashion house while working on the hotly-awaited follow-up to 2018’s ‘Astroworld’.
He told WWD: “I’m in this new album mode where it’s like psychedelic rock. So even just like the field of cactuses and mushrooms, you might get tripped out.”
The collection includes sweatshirts, oversized tees, silk satin shirts, chains, and lapel pins with his own illustrations and Cactus Jack symbol.
The hip-hop megastar also took inspiration from his hometown in Texas.
The ‘Sicko Mode’ hitmaker said: “I just tried to take some of the textures of what you might see in my backyard on an everyday basis. I wanted to make something that felt like you can wear it on the street every day, but it still has some type of way that you can wear it in and out of a major building, or to the bodega — so we just took that journey.”
However, Travis also included couture pieces for special occasions.
He added: “We tried all different types of silhouettes, taking it somewhere that I usually don’t even go with my own clothing. We produce more street style things, so to come into a house that does more couture-level, and kind of mesh, it was kind of cool.”
Meanwhile, Dior announced four white shirts hand-painted by artist George Condo would go under the hammer to benefit the fashion programme launched by Travis’ Cactus Jack Foundation and The New School’s Parsons School of Design.
Artistic director for men’s wear Kim Jones said: “That was one of the things that really got me into wanting to do this with Travis, because he understands, like I do, that we need young people to go through the system to be trained to fulfill their dreams.”

Zendaya’s nod to Beyonce with BET Awards gown

OHMYGOSSIP — Zendaya paid homage to Beyonce with her BET Awards gown.
The 24-year-old actress donned an extended version of the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker’s iconic 2003 Versace gown which she donned for her performance of the hit at the annual awards ceremony on Sunday (27.06.21).
The star wowed in the violet gown which she teamed with a pair of custom-dyed Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals and Bulgari yellow diamonds.
Sharing a snap of the show-stopping ensemble on Instagram, Zendaya captioned the post: “Crazy in love.”
It comes after the ‘Euphoria’ star stunned at the Oscars earlier this year with a bold yellow custom Valentino gown, paired with matching platforms from Jimmy Choo and a natural make-up look, but the focus was on her statement diamond necklace.
According to her stylist, Law Roach, the ‘Greatest Showman’ star was the first to debut a necklace from Bulgari’s upcoming high jewellery collection Magnifica – which will be released later this summer – with the piece featuring two diamond collars and a removable centre brooch and tassel, complete with a six-carat cushion-cut yellow diamond.
She also accessorised with yellow diamond teardrop earrings, a yellow diamond ring and another ring with an emerald-cut stone, with the jewellery worth in total around $6 million.
Law told Harper’s Bazaar: “The inspiration was all about this jewellery. “We have a beautiful gown, but in the fitting, we had a whole gamut of these incredible, incredible pieces from Bulgari, and the jewellery just literally became the star of the show.”
Zendaya loved getting to choose her accessories.
Law added: “When it was time to just try jewellery on, there was a piece that Zendaya was absolutely in love with, that we had saw at a little preview. We went to the store about a week ago, and so we saw it, and she said, ‘Oh my God, this is incredible. This could be the one.’ “One of the cool things about Bulgari is that the jewellery always has a little secret. “Things can be taken off and things can be added, and I think we just started playing, and then we just created this really magnificent jewellery story with a few of the pieces. It’s all about layering and piecing together all the jewellery in a way where it just feels really seamless and organic.”

Kid Cudi: Kurt Cobain inspired SNL floral dress

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Cudi says Kurt Cobain inspired him to wear a floral dress on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
The 37-year-old rapper turned heads in the strappy gown on the late-night comedy sketch show in April.
And he has now explained how the late Nirvana frontman famously rocking a similar style on the cover of The Face magazine in 1993 was his muse, while he also wanted to inspire young people to be themselves and wear whatever they want to.
Speaking on ‘The Shop: Uninterrupted’, Cudi explained: “The image of seeing Kurt Cobain in a dress was very rock ‘n’ roll to me. That was cool. So I already made my mind up years ago that I wanted to do this. And it’s cool because I’m also giving confidence to the kids and telling them to be themselves and do what they want to do.”
The ‘Memories’ hitmaker faced backlash by some for his outfit choice but he loves that he has caused a stir.
He said: “I’ve already seen people making YouTube videos where they’re just strictly talking about me and this dress. Like grown men, angry, grown Black men, angry. ‘He’s doing something against men and masculinity, it’s a big thing going on…’ And I just be like, ‘Yo, this is so funny, this is crazy that I’ve stirred it up like this.’
“I’m more like, ‘Hmm, I wonder why they feel that way. I’ve never been someone who’s, like, thinking about the backlash. I don’t give a f*** about what anyone thinks. You can’t when you’re doing this s***. I knew it would p*** some people off, but I love that. Because hip-hop is so weird about s***.”
Meanwhile, Cudi has recently been open about his mental health struggles and admitted that his sadness “eats away” at him.
The music star posted the following text on Instagram: “Sadness eats away at me sometimes. How do I deal? A lot of u hit me and ask how I get through. Truthfully, idk. Some days are great, others not so great. I just try to believe God has something better for me. I try to have faith in the light. Please, believe.”
Cudi captioned the post: “God has better days waitin for me. I just know it. (sic)”

Scarlett Johansson to launch beauty line

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Johansson is set to launch a beauty line.
The ‘Black Widow’ star will release a clean beauty collection in 2022 after she dropped her beauty collaborations with other brands to create a line that is “true” to herself.
She told WWD: “I’ve been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child. My mother instilled in me a passion for self-care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty.”
The line is being funded by The Najafi Companies.
Scarlett, 36, has co-founded the line with Kate Foster and it has been in the works for the past two years.
She commented: “I met Scarlett almost two years ago. She shared her brand vision with me and right away, I was thinking about how we could turn it into a reality. It has been an incredible experience working alongside her and we are thrilled to have the support and partnership of The Najafi Companies to help the brand achieve its full potential.
“We are proud to have built a brand that fills a void in the market and addresses a true consumer need. Our brand platform is differentiated and has a great deal of runway for growth and expansion.”
Jahm Najafi, founder and chief executive officer of the Najafi Companies, added: “The Najafi Companies is an entrepreneurial and mission-driven private investment firm. We are not a fund and we don’t manage third-party capital. We invest using our own capital, which enables us to truly think long term, move expeditiously and remain highly flexible.
“We also do not subscribe to a diversification strategy; rather, we concentrate our time and resources and look for needles in a haystack. We are passionate about supporting ambitious and thoughtful founders and management teams who lead with integrity and vision. Scarlett and Kate fit squarely in the type of leaders with whom we love to partner for the long term.”

Lucy Mecklenburgh thrilled to prove fitness app critics wrong

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Mecklenburgh is thrilled she’s proven her critics wrong with her wellness app.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star launched Results Wellness Lifestyle in 2013 but many people doubted the business would succeed as she was a reality star.
She said: “When I first set up Results Wellness Lifestyle (RWL) I was very aware that people thought. ‘Oh she’s that girl from ‘TOWIE’, she’ll be in the public eye for five minutes, she’ll promote a lipgloss and then we’ll forget about her.’ And so I had this fire in my belly to prove them wrong.”
Despite the negative comments when Lucy first decided to “enter the unknown”, her fitness app has gone from strength to strength and been able to help thousands of people achieve their goals.
Lucy explained: “When we launched back in 2013 there wasn’t such a thing as ‘online fitness platforms’ – everyone still had fitness DVDs and diet books, so we were the first to take that step and enter the unknown.
“From the start, the reason for going solely online was because we wanted to reach as many people as possible and make health and fitness as affordable – and hassle free – as possible.
“It has been quite a journey and we have learnt a lot along the way, but we have now helped over 350,000 people get healthier and reach their goals through our app.”
Now, the app is the longest-running online health and fitness platform in the UK, and to celebrate, Lucy and her team have launched the WE ARE RWL campaign to show fitness is for everyone.
She added: “I’m so proud of everything RWL stands for and everyone who is involved in it – and that’s what we wanted to celebrate with this campaign – the founders of the company alongside the members and the trainers and the staff who all come together to make it such an inclusive, successful brand.”
Her co-founder, Cecilia Harris, added: “This company is like a child to me.
“We created it to help women with their fitness but have grown it every year to support every aspect of someones health and wellness.
“Waking up everyday to messages thanking us for transforming people’s lives is literally a dream come true.”

Pop Smoke’s family praise Travis Scott for Dior tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — Pop Smoke’s family “appreciate” Travis Scott’s tribute to the late rapper in his Dior collection.
The ‘Sicko Mode’ hitmaker has paid homage to the Brooklyn drill legend – who was murdered in Los Angeles in February 2020 – by designing a white top featuring his face and the lyrics to Smoke’s aptly titled single, ‘Dior’, for his men’s spring 2022 collection, Cactus Jack Dior, for the French fashion house.
And Smoke’s brother, Obasi Jackson, has given his seal of approval of the tribute piece.
He told TMZ: “Me personally, I definitely appreciate the love that he [Scott] is trying to create around Pop, and definitely with his music coming out, his new album on the rise, I definitely appreciate that he’s trying to push forward in this time.”
Smoke loved fashion and frequented Paris Fashion Week.
As well as loving Dior, the ‘Fashion’ rapper was a big fan of Virgil Abloh.
The music star worked with the Louis Vuitton menswear artistic director and Off-White CEO on his album cover and the music video for ‘Shake the Room’ and Smoke’s manager Steven Victor previously revealed he admired how far Virgil had progressed in his career.
He said: “The artwork was such a sensitive subject. Pop had real respect and appreciation for Virgil for a number of reasons but, most importantly, he represents what Pop believed – that anything is possible. Virgil is the first art director of African descent for Louis Vuitton – it’s incredible. In everything he did, Pop’s message was, and still is, that anything is possible and he wants kids all over the world to really believe that and to believe in themselves.”
Victor also revealed he had ambitions to create his own designs before he died.
He said: “I thought it was ambitious. I would take it in stride super early on and thought let’s focus on the music first and once you’re stable as an artist then let’s dabble. He would always talk about fashion. I thought he was just saying it because it was cool for rappers to say. Then over the months, I saw he did have his own sense of style.”

The 40-year-old founder of the shapewear, loungewear and underwear brand has described landing the gig as a “full circle” moment as a longtime fan of the games.

Sharing some of the pieces – which include bralettes, boxers, tank tops, t-shirts, leggings, and much more – from the collection Kim added: “Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve heard every single detail about the Olympics from my stepdad. Selena Gomez reveals her biggest insecurity about her face

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez is “insecure” about her under eyes.
The ‘Lose You To Love Me’ singer has opened up about how being in the spotlight has made her more critical of her appearance, and how she likes to focus on the “areas” on her face that she is less confident about with her make-up routine.
While having her glam done by make-up artist Hung Vanngo, in a clip on his YouTube channel, the Rare Beauty founder admitted: “I think one of my insecurities definitely has to be my under eyes.
“I don’t know if it’s because I do what I do and I love it, but you kind of look at yourself a lot and I feel like even though I don’t … I know I’m in my way beautiful but with my insecurities, I tend to like cater to those areas on my face and what I love about our concealer is that I can put as much as I want and it feels like my skin and it just melts.”
The 28-year-old pop star suffers from the autoimmune disease lupus, which causes her whole body to break out in hives, and she swears by her brand’s foundation for providing the best coverage when her skin is inflamed.
She said: “I have lupus, which is an autoimmune disease where I can’t spend a lot of time in the sun.
“When I break out, I get hives all over my body and so what I love about knowing my shades for when I’m a little bit more pale and knowing my shades for when I get a spray tan or something outside so it’s actually really nice to have two different options of the foundation [a lighter option in the winter and a slightly darker one in the summer].”
