Remi Bader doesn’t believe in cancelling fashion companies

OHMYGOSSIP — Remi Bader doesn’t believe in cancelling fashion companies over their lack of diversity.
The 26-year-old TikTok star and plus-sized model – who is known for her “realistic” fashion haul videos recently signed a brand deal with Victoria’s Secret which will see her testing apparel pre-production – admitted that cancelling fashion companies who are trying to make a difference is not the way forward.
She said: “I don’t believe that we should cancel brands if they’re now trying to make a difference because you’d be surprised at how many brands and companies just aren’t even making the slightest effort now to do so. I also worked in fashion and on the other side and people don’t realize that it does take time for huge companies to do this.”
Remi – who worked for Jay-Z-owned streaming service TIDAL before being made redundant during the pandemic and going on to launch a TikTok page which now boasts 1.2 million followers – added that the company’s decision to release an XXL-sized swimwear for the first time in their 44-year-history is going to “make a change.”
“So the fact that [Victoria’s Secret] are even doing this one little thing now, it shows they’re gonna make a change and I’m not gonna just hold against them, what these people that are no longer with the company have said in the past.”
The influencer also revealed that she would love to model for socialite Kim Kardashian or her Good American founder sister Khloe through either of their fashion brands.
She told The Creators: “I think it would be a dream for me to model with a Good American or SKIMS!”

One of her landmark moves to make her beauty line greener, she created the ‘Icon Refillable Lipstick’, one of the beauty products she would gift all her fans, along with the Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer (£34/$41).
She said: “I would also gift the Icon Refillable Lipstick (£18/$20) because I feel so proud of this product, from the packaging all the way to the bullet — which was designed to match the shape of my Cupid’s bow — to the texture and performance of the lipstick itself.”
The ‘Rude Boy’ singer used her photoshoot-learned makeup lessons to make new products, such as the Fenty Invisi-Matte Blotting Powder (£24/$32).
Rihanna said: “Earlier in my career, the way I powder underneath my eyes; I wish I had better products back then or better techniques,” “Making that product was huge for me. Juno Temple fulfills fashion dream at SAG Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Juno Temple felt like “Cinderella” at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
The ‘Ted Lasso’ actress admitted she had “fantasised” about wearing a Versace chain mail gown since she was a teenager so she was elated to walk the silver carpet at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar in her dream dress on Sunday (27.02.22).
She told E! News: “This is a Versace chain mail dress. I am a fashion junkie, I wanted to go to fashion school and Versace chain mail is something I’ve fantasised since I was probably 14 years old and now I’m wearing one.
“I feel I’m Cinderella, it’s the most extraordinary piece of clothing I’ve ever worn in my entire life.”
Juno – who was nominated for the Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series award but lost out to ‘Hacks’ star Jean Smart – wore her locks in a tousled fishtail braid with minimal hair jewellery and her glam team loved her finished look.
Hair stylist Mara Roszak told Vanity Fair: “It’s not ‘less is more,’ for sure. But it’s never too much, either. It just always works.
“The dress-up part of it is really fun to do with Juno because she so appreciates fashion. Especially Versace—it feels just so her.”
The gold column dress had inspired Mara’s work on Juno’s hair and in the weeks leading up to the event, she and an assistant made a tour of various stores in Los Angeles, picking up woven gold rope and micro-thin wire from International Silks and Woolens.
Mara said: “They have a whole floor of different textures of ribbons and strings and thread.”
Meanwhile, Juno reflected on how playing Keeley Jones in ‘Ted Lasso’ has been good for her.
She said: “Keeley brought a lot of positivity to my life, especially the time I’ve been living in. She’s someone who really helped me be kinder to myself, so that’s a big thing that happened with that character, I embraced my inner Keeley by reminding myself I don’t always have to be a crazy nightmare to myself.”

Jada Pinkett Smith wore vintage to SAG Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Jada Pinkett Smith pulled a dress from her closet to walk the silver carpet at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
The ‘Girls Trip’ actress turned heads in her long-sleeved Gareth Pugh gown as she arrived at the ceremony with her husband, Will Smith, and she explained the floor-length black and blue garment was a vintage piece she had picked up “a while ago”.
Speaking to ‘Live from E! SAG Awards’ host Laverne Cox, she said: “It’s vintage. It’s something that I bought a while ago. [I] had it in the closet and I was like, ‘You know what? I think girl is ready for the SAG Awards!’ So, pulled it out.”
While Will’s dark navy suit perfectly matched his wife’s look, he admitted he hadn’t put very much thought into his ensemble for the night.
He joked: “It’s just a little something I put together.
“My thing is I take a shower and I wear what’s on the bed when I get out.”
Jada added: “He has a very good stylist.”
Will confirmed: “Yeah, absolutely.”
The 53-year-old star went on to win the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award for his work on King Richard and on the red carpet, he reflected on the “deep responsibility” he felt playing the father of tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams.
He said: “When you are telling a story of someone’s life, it is deep responsibility. Because at my level, when I put something out in the world, people take it as the truth. So, if the family didn’t like it, didn’t believe it, as an artist, that is devastating.”
And he admitted he dreaded hearing Venus and Serena’s reactions to the film.
He said: “When I heard that they were watching it, that was like the worst two hours of my life. But they called immediately and said they both cried and they felt honoured.
“Everything else after that is icing on the cake.”
However, when he won later in the evening, Will admitted it was one of the “greatest moments” of his career because of who he was sitting with inside the Barker Hangar.
He said: “That may have been one of the greatest moments of my career just now because my name was called for ‘King Richard’ sitting next to Venus Williams and her sister.”

Selena Gomez’s grand SAG Awards look

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez went for a “grand and over-the-top” look at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, thanks to a lot of statement jewellery.
The ‘Only Murders in the Building’ actress walked the silver carpet on Sunday (27.02.22) in a black velvet Oscar De La Renta gown with gems from Bulgari, including their high-jewellery Serpenti necklace, a white gold piece featuring two pear-shaped emeralds and diamonds totalling 37.04 carats and a platinum ring featuring a 9.89-carat cushion-cut Columbian emerald and her stylist, Kate Young, was delighted with the finished look.
Kate said: “We really wanted to do tons of jewellery, and [the ring] is a major emerald.
“Together with the velvet, the look feels really grand and over the top and interesting.”
Kate – whose clients include the likes of Margot Robbie, Sophie Turner and Dakota Johnson – explained she prefers not to ask designers to create custom gowns but looks to find “the best dress on the best girl”.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Oscar de la Renta didn’t do a traditional runway show, but even if they had, whether people have seen a dress before doesn’t concern me.
“I’m not interested in asking a designer to cook up a custom dress just for the sake of doing custom; I think it’s important that dresses relate back to what’s on the runway. My job is to take the best of what’s available in the world of fashion and match it to these women.
“It’s the best dress on the best girl, and I think she looks really good.”
The stylist first saw the gown via video prior to the collection’s release earlier this month and knew “immediately” after Selena tried it on that it was right for her.
She said: “It’s super flattering and feels very her. There’s always that moment when someone puts on a dress and it’s immediately apparent that this is the one. The cut is fun and feels aligned with Selena’s style.”

Tracee Ellis Ross says her new hair mask celebrates ‘hair care being self care’

OHMYGOSSIP — Tracee Ellis Ross says her new hair mask celebrates “hair care being self care”.
The ‘Blackish’ star – and the daughter of ‘The Supremes’ icon Diana Ross – is simultaneously releasing a new song ‘Legacy’ and the Transition hari mask ($25) – which seeks to help in the shift from relaxed to natural hair – from her beauty brand Pattern.
Of the song – which began life as a poem before the company was launched in 2019 – the 49-year-old actress told Harper’s Bazaar: “‘Legacy’ is a beautiful celebration of the ritual of hair care being self-care. Our music, and our hair, are rooted in our authentic beauty, and this song is where the two meet. The memory of sitting between your mother’s or your grandmother’s legs while they care for your hair is a time-honored tradition that many of us know so well. This song is a celebration of this ritual that we as a community continue to uphold.”
Tracee says her poem was “created” to eventually develop into a song intended to “offer a sense of belonging”.
She told the magazine: “From the first moment ‘Legacy’ was created, it was meant to be a song. I hope it offers a sense of belonging and the message that we are worthy of being cherished.”
The ‘Girlfriends’ star wants to “expand” her range of products targeted at different hair textures through her future releases.
Tracee said: “As we expand our portfolio, we are able to lean further into the needs of the curly, coily, and tight textured community. We found there was a need for a product that nourishes transitioning strands back to health. I love how it really prevents breakage and fortifies strands.”
Along with the Transition mask release, Pattern also dropped a Limited Edition Tortoise Hair Pick ($15) and a Satin Cap ($22).

Rihanna is opening a flagship Savage x Fenty store in New York City

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna is opening a Savage x Fenty store in New York City.
The ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker has reportedly signed a ten-year-lease to open a flagship boutique – their largest to date – in Brooklyn’s Triangle Building, close to the Barclays Center for her trend-setting lingerie brand after opening five other stores across the United States in locations such as Los Angeles and Las Vegas last month.
Sources told WWD that the store will be a hop, skip and jump away from the borough’s most popular subway stations, the Atlantic Avenue Terminal.
The move to the in-store experience for the beauty mogul’s fashion brand was seen as an “opportunity to better serve” their clients based from their previously digital-only business model.
In January, Christine Pendarvis, co-president of and chief merchandise officer at Savage said: “Retail will give us the opportunity to better serve our current members, as well as acquire new customers. We’re taking our approach and leveraging the data that we have to build a competitive advantage with our model. So we were able to pick locations where we have a high density of existing VIPs and make sure that we have the appropriate foot traffic really to drive the top-line revenue of each new location.”
The 34-year-old pop star – who is expecting her first child with her rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky, 33 – aims to “expand” on making the brick and mortar experience “very exclusive” – partly due to her own experiences of shopping for intimates – and has attempted to do by modelling the mannequins on real people.
Rihanna said: The whole idea of the retail space is that I wanted women and men to come in and feel represented, to walk away from the experience feeling confident and that they belong. I’ve experienced being a customer and shopping in the lingerie space and have felt as if I didn’t fit the mold of the product. But Savage X Fenty is very inclusive, and I want to continue to expand on that so that our consumers can feel our commitment within the retail space.”

The Duchess of Sussex’s Oprah interview dress labelled Dress of the Year

OHMYGOSSIP — The black Armani dress the Duchess of Sussex wore for her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey has been named the 2021 Dress of the Year, an honour given out since 1963.
Meghan Markle’s $4,7000 frock from the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2022 Cruise collection -which she sported while pregnant with her daughter Lilibet, now eight-months – was given the honour by the United Kingdom’s Fashion Museum in Bath
In a statement, Ibrahim Kamara and Gareth Wrighton, the editor and art director of Dazed: “In today’s hyper-stylised pop culture, the Dress of the Year now has the potential to also be ‘meme of the year’ and we both latched upon Meghan and Harry’s now iconic interview with Oprah as the definitive anti-establishment moment that will forever endure in the British collective consciousness.”
The interview – which took place in March 2021 – contained allegations that shook Buckingham Palace after Meghan and her husband Prince Harry, 37 – who she also shares two-year-old son Archie with – claimed that she experienced racism from senior members of the royal family and the British press. In addition, Meghan claimed her pleas for help for suicidal feelings went unanswered by staff from within The Firm.
Of dealing with her mental health crisis, the 40-year-old former actress told the 68-year-old veteran broadcaster: “Look, I was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, because I know how much loss he has suffered, but I knew that if I didn’t say it, then I would do it. I just didn’t want to be alive anymore.”
In addition, Meghan spoke about the “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he is born,” after Oprah expressed her shock, Meghan added: “There are several conversations, potentially and what that would mean or look like.”

Hunter Schafer thinks makeup should be used to make people feel ‘good on the inside’

OHMYGOSSIP — Hunter Schafer thinks makeup should be used to make people feel “good on the inside”
The ‘Euphoria’ star wants to “strongly encourage people to wear makeup as a “tool” to express your internal reality.
The 23-year-old actress told InStyle magazine: “As far as my philosophy goes, I strongly encourage people to use makeup in a way that feels good on the inside. Not just trying to look “pretty” or appeal to some standard, but to treat makeup as a tool to bring what’s inside outward. Once you get into this practice, it’s a really rewarding feeling that’s accessible to anyone.”
Hunter – who shot to fame as Jules on the HBO drama that stars Zendaya and has given traction to out there beauty approaches – believes her character Jules’ makeup looks – that she designed in collaboration with the show’s lead makeup artist Doniella Davy – should be “honest and true” to her and her personal development
She said: “I think we have evolved aesthetically. It might feel more raw. Season 1 was the first part of junior year and Season 2 is the second part. You’re growing at hyperspeed at that age, and the show is growing at that same pace. In Season 1, when Doniella and I were establishing Jules’s [Schafer’s character] looks, we would always take into account the emotional reality of the scene. How is Jules feeling, and how will that influence her decision-making when getting ready for the day? It was a surprise every time, but our goal was to keep it honest and true to her character.”
Fans of the show – and the glittery makeup looks sported by Hunter, Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez, Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie Howard – can soon get their hands on Doniella’s new line Half Magic.
In the announcement on social media, she said: “I couldn’t be more completely over the moon thrilled out of my mind to introduce Half Magic,” before thanking her fans “because it’s all for YOU.”

Rihanna wants Savage x Fenty stores to help people ‘feel seen and sexy’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna hopes to help people “feel represented” in her ‘Savage x Fenty’ stores.
The ‘Love on the Brain’ hitmaker – who has recently been more focused on her fashion and beauty lines – wants customers to step out of her boutiques, which just opened five locations such as Los Angeles and Las Vegas, “feeling confident” and like “they belong”, partly based on her own experiences shopping.
The 34-year-old fashion and beauty mogul told Refinery29: “The whole idea of the retail space is that I wanted women and men to come in and feel represented, to walk away from the experience feeling confident and that they belong.
“I’ve experienced being a customer and shopping in the lingerie space and have felt as if I didn’t fit the mold of the product.
“But ‘Savage x Fenty’ is very inclusive, and I want to continue to expand on that so that our consumers can feel our commitment within the retail space.”
The ‘Fenty Beauty’ creator modeled all the shop’s mannequins “off of real people” to allow customers to “feel seen and sexy”.
She said: “You know, we actually cast all of the mannequins off of real people. I wanted to make sure we included as many different body types as possible because you don’t get to see curvy women and curvy men in this aspect. It was important because everyone wants to feel seen and sexy.”
Rihanna – who recently revealed she is expecting her first child with rapper boyfriend A$AP Rocky – is “really into pushing the idea of sexy” as a mother-to-be.
She added: “Right now I’m really into pushing the idea of sexy. When women get pregnant, society tends to make it feel like you hide, hide your sexy, and that you’re not sexy right now [but] you’ll get back there and I don’t believe in that s***.
“So I’m trying stuff that I might not have even had the confidence to try before I was pregnant. The strappiest, the thinnest, and the more cut-outs the better for me.”

Millie Bobby Brown says the 80s were her ‘favourite period’ for fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Millie Bobby Brown thinks the 1980s were her “favourite” era for fashion.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star doesn’t think “you can get better than the 80s” when it comes to all things style, hair, beauty and music, and she referenced her work on Netflix’s sci-fi series as her window into that world.
The 18-year-old actress told Elle.com: “I don’t think you can get better than the 80s. I think the 80s are probably the best period for hair, make-up, fashion and music. But specifically for beauty the colours are amazing and so bold and flawless. The hair, it’s insane, the huge blowouts.
“It’s my favourite period that I’ve personally worked in and also, you know, I’ve experienced it for seven years and still love it.”
The 18-year-old actress has played the character Eleven on the supernatural show – which is set in the 80s – since its release in 2016.
Meanwhile, ‘Enola Holmes’ star cited Audrey Hepburn as a woman who she sees as “everything I strive to be” for both her style and charity work.
She added: “I think women represent beauty. Someone I look up to is Audrey Hepburn, for all the work she put into humanitarianism and also her acting work. Who she was and what she represented is everything I strive to be – I love her make-up, her beauty and her fashion, everything about her.
“But also women in general inspire me. Sometimes I walk past a shop and look at a woman in the window and I think, ‘Wow.’
“Women in general have everything going for them and I think if we are given the right opportunities and the right tools, we can fulfil our dreams whatever they may be.”
Millie admitted to be “obsessed” with HBO show ‘Euphoria’ and the styles of the characters – particularly Maddy Perez, played by Alexa Demie, who is known for her bold looks.
She said: I’m obsessed with ‘Euphoria’ and I feel like I haven’t done my ‘Euphoria’ moment yet so I’m really hoping we get to do that. I’m so obsessed with Maddie, I’m a big fan and I love all their beauty, their hair and their fashion.”

Tan France praises Hailey Bieber’s style

OHMYGOSSIP — Tan France thinks Hailey Bieber has the “best style on the planet”.
The ‘Queer Eye’ star loves the way the 25-year-old star dresses and would be delighted to style her in one of the coats from his genderless Was Him line and knows exactly what she should wear with it.
He told Teen Vogue magazine: “Hailey Bieber, in my opinion, has the f****** best style on the planet. I would want to put her in the cropped St. Helen, which is camel and has red horses on it. And I’d want to give her high-waisted, wide-leg ‘90s blue jeans, a little boob tube that has some kind of crazy texture, a load of gold jewellery, and a chunky sneaker.”
The fashion expert is also a fan of ‘Euphoria’ actress Sydney Sweeney.
He exclaimed: “I love her! I would want to put her in the neutral plaid Ludlow. And then I would want to put her in a bunch of different shades of pink underneath. Maybe a pink sweater with a pink patent leather miniskirt, with a little pink boot.”
If Tan had the chance to style Selena Gomez, he’d pair one of his coats with a bold leather look.
He said: “I would want to put her in the green Ludlow — which is a double-breasted coat with blue horses — and I would want her to wear a little black leather number underneath.”
And the 38-year-old star would choose the same coat for Sydney’s ‘Euphoria’ co-star Zendaya, but styled very differently.
He said: ” I would want her to wear the green Ludlow with the blue horses [as well], but I’d only want her to wear it over her shoulders. And I would want her to have a dramatic A-line maxi dress for the red carpet. I would want it to be a really vibrant blue to tie in the horses. But it would need a really voluminous dress. Simple but gorgeous.”

Maude Apatow: Anyone can wear red lipstick

OHMYGOSSIP — Maude Apatow believes “anyone” can wear red lipstick.
The ‘Euphoria’ actress admitted some of her friends are wary of a bold lip colour but she is a big fan of a bright Laura Mercier matte colour and has encouraged her pals to follow her lead.
She said: “I have friends who say, ‘Ugh, I can’t pull off a red lip.’ I’m like, I don’t think that’s true. I think anyone can!”
But Maude admitted she wouldn’t adopt the bold looks seen in ‘Euphoria’, and admires the fans that have taken beauty inspiration from the show.
She told Vogue.com: “No one really expected it to be as big as it is.
“It’s so crazy to see people doing Euphoria make-up – and I’m so jealous! I feel like I’m too shy to wear that bold of a look.”
The actress has enjoyed seeing how her character, Lexi Howard’s beauty looks have evolved as the show has progressed.
She explained: “My character starts out shy and comes into her own as the season goes on, and you see that with the make-up too. Her make-up looks get a little bit bolder.”
Maude never used to have issues with her skin until she started wearing heavier make-up for work.
She said: “I didn’t really use to do anything with my skin; [it] was just kind of good – I got lucky.
“Then, when I started working and wearing more make-up, [it] got a lot worse, so I needed to come up with a routine…
“Definitely, when I’m working my skin gets a lot worse and it’s taken me a long time to figure out products that don’t make me break out.
“The one big thing I learned, though, is making sure all your make-up comes off at the end of the day.”
