Harry Styles wanted to return to the ‘psychedelic Sixties’ for Mick Fleetwood collab

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles wanted to return to the ‘psychedelic Sixties’ for his collaboration with Mick Fleetwood.
The 28-year-old popstar – who launched his beauty line Pleasing at the end of 2021 – enlisted Fleetwood Mac legend Mick, 74, as the face of second edit and the collaboration came about through a “personal conversation” conversation with designer Steven Stokey-Daley.
Steven told GQ: “Dressing Mick Fleetwood came about through a personal conversation between myself, [stylist] Harry Lambert and Harry Styles. They gave me a preview of the products that have just released and they asked if I’d be up for designing a unique look for him – they had a very clear idea of what they wanted. For Harry this collaboration was all about the return to the psychedelic Sixties era.”
The SS Daley founder, 26 – who first collaborated with the ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker back on his first edit for the line which consisted of a range of serums, lip balms and nail polishes – explained that he had been influenced by “very British” designs and the “eccentric” nature of furniture created by David Hicks’.
He added: “I was thinking about how I could apply what I do with SS Daley to that concept. Recently I’ve been really obsessed with David Hicks’ interiors – they’re extremely British, and very influenced by the Sixties and Seventies, which fits with the vibe Harry wanted. Hicks uses a lot of in-your-face zebra print rugs and carpets, and so I applied the aesthetics of his eccentric furniture to the outfit.”
For the latest edit, Steven has dressed Mick in a zebra print purple “pyjama-esque” outfit and the menswear designer joked he has a “thing” for dressing the “older British gentleman” in nightwear.
He said: “The zebra is purposely blown up big and is consciously skewed. In turn it could be seen as a psychedelic optical art print, again fitting in with the vibe Harry Styles wanted to achieve,” he explains. “At the time I was doing my AW/22 collection, which was based on the concept of inside-outside living, and this influenced the pyjama-esque outfit I created for Mick.
Rather subconsciously I have a thing for dressing British gentlemen in silk robes and pyjamas. We did it with Ian McKellen at the end of 2021, and now we’ve done it with Mick. Who’s next?”

I feel like the fragrance is a way to give other people the power to like they rule over their own kingdom.”

He told Allure: ” I wanted to give to everyone and all my fans a little piece of my taste. The whole process was beautiful. I chose the way they smell with the whole team. We were in a lot of different meetings — it was kind of hard because I’m picky. But we got it, and for me, it’s one of the best fragrances that I ever smelled in my life. Caitriona Balfe had her own hair ‘permed and hot-rollered’ for Outlander role

OHMYGOSSIP — Caitriona Balfe had own hair ‘permed and hot rollered’ for her role on ‘Outlander.’
The 42-year-old actress – who has starred as Claire Fraser, a World War II nurse transported back to 1743 on the historical fantasy series since 2014 – revealed that her own hair was permed and curled with heat rollers every day during production of the first season.
She said: “In season one, my own hair was permed and hot-rollered every day. [It would take] about an hour and twenty minutes every day.”
However, by the time the show entered production of its second season it had been decided that Caitriona – who needed to sport a series of different looks in order to reflect the various time periods her character had found herself in – could wear
wigs as opposed to having to constantly have her own hair styled.
She told Allure: “I’m glad we ended up going with wigs in the end. I’m really lucky. Once the wigs are set and done, [the styling] is usually not happening on my head. That’s the great part: you get your head wrapped, and then they just stick them on.”
The acclaimed actress also heaped praise on hair and makeup artist Kerry Skelton, who has had the job of transforming the 42-year-old Caitriona into a woman in her mid-fifties, as well as create hairstyles that reflect French aristocracy in the 1700s, 1940s wartime dos and a look that could have believably been seen on the Scottish moors in 1743.
She said: “[Skelton] is amazing, and she has these magic little tricks that she does that highlight the things that [make you look older].
[In the latest season they] go to more formal gatherings, and you see these much more intricate updos. She’s able to create these beautiful pieces, and I’m the lucky recipient of being able to wear them.”

Alicia Keys wants to ‘transform the beauty industry’ with lifestyle brand.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Keys wants to ‘transform the beauty industry’ with lifestyle brand.
The 41-year-old singer launched Keys Soulcare back in December 2020 and hopes that she is able to “evolve the dialogue” around standard beauty conventions with the skin care line.
She said: “What we’re up to with Keys Soulcare is much more than just skin deep. It’s really about transforming the beauty industry and the concept of beauty. Offerings allow us to [create] a conversation and a community, and talk about routine and how to turn it into a ritual. We’re trying to evolve the dialogue around beauty and even what beauty standards mean, and what [those standards] do to us as humans. As women, we get caught up with feeling like we’re supposed to look a certain way or present ourselves a certain way.”
The ‘New York’ hitmaker went on to explain that it is “powerful” to change norms as she claimed that true beauty comes as a result of self-confidence over anything else.
She told Glossy: “It’s powerful to change existing concepts and allow beauty to be on the inside and how you’re fulfilling your soul and spirit. What makes you beautiful is when you are content and self-confident and know yourself.”
The Grammy Award winning star also insisted that her brand – which offers a range of facial products as well as beauty tools and scented candles – is about “perspective” as she urged fans to take time for themselves whilst using her products.
She added: “Keys Soulcare is about a perspective and a point of view and how to implement these pieces into our daily lives. That’s why I call products ‘offerings,’ because it is an offer to join a practice of paying attention to yourself, even if it’s for five minutes while getting ready for work or getting ready for bed.
“I definitely see Keys Soulcare as a lifestyle. It’s something you adopt and a way of thinking and a way of being.”

Scarlett Johansson made husband Colin Jost test her new skincare line

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Johansson made her husband Colin Jost test her new skincare line.
The 37-year-old actress – who has son Cosmo, seven months, with Colin as well as Rose, seven, with ex- husband Romain Dauriac and – revealed that her husband became the guinea pig for her new skincare line as he tested out the eye cream.
She said: “I’ve never had a partner who used eye cream before. I always forget to put eye cream on, even though my makeup artists always tell me to! [Colin] was the first one to use it regularly.”
The Academy Award winning star then went on to reveal that Colin has been using the cream – which is part of her new skin-care brand, The Outset – in “secret” over the course of the last year.
She told Allure: “He’s been using it secretly for a year. I think it makes him feel invigorated!”
Scarlett – whose line consists of five different products so far which include a cleanser and a vegan serum – also insisted that she has worked on the project personally for the past five years and was keen to dispute that the line was simply using her name.
She said: “This project to me was not a vanity project! I really spent five years familiarizing myself with this industry, and we’ve really been very mindful every step of the way of creating something that’s clean, effective, sustainable, and purpose-driven.
“I guess the bigger question is: does the world need another skin-care line in general?, which is something I thought about a lot. The idea to just license my name and have somebody else do it for me, because it would be much easier and less risky in some ways, was floated by me. But if you can feel like a brand may help shift the standard in any way, I think that’s positive.”
