Reese Witherspoon reveals beauty tips as she wants to age ‘gracefully’

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon wants to age “gracefully”.
The 45-year-old star has opened up about the way her skin and beauty philosophies have evolved “over the years”, as she urged people to take care of themselves as they get older.
She told Body+Soul: “I was lucky to have women in my life who loved ageing and getting older – like my mother and grandmother – and I saw it wasn’t something that should be looked at like a setback.
“There’s something empowering about ageing gracefully. I see so many women who have that self-critical voice, which can start with how your mother, grandmother or sisters see themselves.
“The most important thing I want women to know is it’s about being the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.
“And that you should be investing in yourself and really carving out some time to care for your skin and yourself. It’s so important.”
Reese learned about beauty and makeup through watching her mother get ready in the morning.
She explained: “I just thought the ritual of preparing herself for the day and presenting her best self to the world was a big part of her self-esteem. So I think that’s where I learnt my love of beauty and skin care.
“And then in growing up, it’s been about business, wearing make-up every single day and learning how to properly take care of my skin because, honestly, cameras are sometimes five inches from my face and I like to feel confident that I’m taking care of myself and that I have the best skin quality that I can have.”
Meanwhile, Reese admitted she’s now learning from her own daughter Ava, 22, because she has embraced tips from “savvy” YouTubers.
She added: “She’s so knowledgeable about skin care and make-up, and I think she comes from a generation of YouTube tutorials and these kids are very savvy about product and application.
“So I learn a lot from her. We do talk about sunscreen a lot, too.
“Whatever you do for your skin in your early 20s is really going to show up later in life. So sunscreen twice a day is a really important part of our routine.”

Nicola Coughlan was ‘terrified’ to leave the house without makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Coughlan used to be “terrified” to leave the house without makeup.
The ‘Bridgerton’ star used to plaster her face with beauty products to hide behind when she was younger, but after she was forced not to wear makeup at drama school, she ultimately learned to embrace her natural beauty.
She told Glamour UK: “When I was younger, I used to be terrified to step out without makeup. It was like it was the worst thing in the world. Then I went to drama school, where you’re not allowed to wear makeup so you can adapt to any character necessary. I was horrified. But eventually, it taught me to accept myself in my own skin and made room for makeup to become a fun thing, not a defensive thing. Now, I love makeup, and I love being able to celebrate it, but I can totally go without it.”
Dressing up in period outfits for the Netflix show boosted the 35-year-old star’s confidence.
She explained: “I’ve always loved getting dressed up doing my hair and makeup, but when I was young, I was afraid to have any eyes on me and was worried I’d be judged. It was through being on the set of ‘Bridgerton’ that actually really helped me discover confidence and joy in getting dressed up. I had these amazing gowns and amazing wigs made for me, and I thought, ‘Why can I not bring that joy into my own life?'”
The Irish star – who plays Penelope Featherington – also revealed that she needed to find other ways to keep her skin hydrated while shooting in corsets all day because they reduced the amount of water they drank to avoid regular trips to the toilet.
Nicola said: “Drinking lots of water has always been really important for glowing skin, but often on set, you don’t get to drink enough because you’re in a corset all day or away from a bathroom.
“I had to always be really cognisant of hydrating my skin in other ways, so I used a lot of the hydrating products from Barbara Sturm, like this amazing hydrating mist. Then in the evenings, I use an oil-based makeup remover from Lush (I used to work in their stores and have always had a passion for their products), followed by a plumping hyaluronic acid serum and a nice moisturising cream.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Phoebe Dynevor has been named Sunday Riley’s first brand ambassador.
The ‘Bridgerton’ star has been a huge fan of the Houston entrepreneur’s eponymous skincare and cosmetics brand and loves everything “they stand for”.
She said in a statement: “I am thrilled to be joining the Sunday Riley team.
“From the moment I first tried Sunday’s products and indeed met Sunday herself, I knew that their ethos and their products were the perfect fit. Not only do I love what they stand for, but I love their products in equal measure.”
Sunday added: “Phoebe is incredibly kind and warm and relatable.
“She’s a woman whom you feel instantly connected to. Yes, her skin is gorgeous. But, her outlook, the way she views the world, the way she leans in to speak with you, the way she opens up about her fears and her dreams, she’s incredibly human. That’s the type of person that I want to work with.”
The 26-year-old actress recently revealed she uses a number of the upscale beauty firm’s products in her morning skincare routine.
Speaking in Vogue’s ‘Beauty Secrets’ video series, Phoebe said she begins her routine with the Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15 Vitamin C Brightening Serum.
She explained: “I actually don’t wash my face in the morning unless I’m working out, and then of course I will wash my face afterwards. But, usually I just splash cold water on my face and pat it dry. After the cold water, would be Vitamin C, which I’m obsessed with, the CEO Brightening Serum.”
Due to her dry skin, Phoebe regularly uses Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening + Depuffing Eye Cream for Dark Circles, and admits she has learned a lot about treating dry skin since she was a teenager.
Phoebe said: “When I was growing up I had mostly dry skin, so I started layering on Vaseline and put it everywhere. Then I learned a proper skin-care routine. After Vitamin C, I do a little eye cream. Again, it’s Sunday Riley. I’ve been obsessed with this brand ever since I first spent time in New York. My apartment was right next to Sephora, which is really dangerous for anyone. Sephora’s the most amazing place in the world.”
The ‘Younger’ star – whose mother is ‘Coronation Street’ actress Sally Dynevor – also talked up her “key” product, Sunday Riley Ice Ceramide Moisturizing Cream.
Phoebe said: “Moisturiser is key to me, someone who has dry skin. [I use] the Ice Moisturizer. I’m just gonna put that everywhere. Apparently, you’re meant to bring it down to your neck.”

The 50-year-old beauty entrepreneur – whose client list boasts stars such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna as well as Hollywood actresses Angelina Jolie and Maggie Gyllenhaal – admitted that she only decided to work with celebrities after her agent spotted potential.
She said: “I didn’t start out wanting to be a celebrity makeup artist, but it just kind of happened because my agent kind of pushed me that way. He was like, ‘You’re like a cup of coffee in the morning. Celebrities need that. They need that lift, that push, that cheerleader. You’re like a mom, yet you’re [like] a drag queen.”
The Mally Beauty founder has also appeared as a beauty expert on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ explained that – unlike other makeup artists -she has never been afraid to share her secrets with others.
She told Allure: “I’ve always been the one to want to put out my secrets or my tips or how to do things. I used to do a lot of photoshoots, and we would do those, like, Vanity Fair covers, and 10 celebrities would come up to shoot. Some makeup artists were very secretive, and they would put up the screen so no one could see what they were doing. I was always that makeup artist that was like, ‘Come on, let’s party.’ And I would do my client in front of everybody. Then I’d grab the photo assistant and be like, ‘Here, I’ll show you how to do it on you.’ I’ve always been that person.”

TikTok star Jasmine Fares ‘struggled’ to find casual clothes that would fit her religious needs

OHMYGOSSIP — Jasmine Fares “struggled”to find casual clothes that would fit her religious needs.
The 26-year-old social media star – who follows the Muslim religion and has almost one million followers on TikTok with husband Dawoud Harb as well as half a million on her own fashion-based Instagram – believes that there is a “lack of modest fashion” for her style on the British high-street and decided to launch her FARES! brand to “solve the problem.”
She said: ” I think what we lack in the modest fashion industry is the typical H M and Zara type of designs but catered to a Muslim dresser, a modest dresser. I struggled to find pieces that were just casual wear that also fit my modest needs. I wanted to create a brand that solved the problem I faced for so long. I wanted to create a brand that was your go-to brand for your essential basics, for your minimal design clothing, things that are timeless in your wardrobe.”
Jasmine then went on to reveal that her most “special” design from her FARES! collection is that of a blazer, which she initially designed back in school.
She told Fashion Magazine: “The most special item to me would probably be the asymmetric blazer that I actually designed in high school. I knew that one day if I ever had a brand, that would be a piece that I wanted to release. When I was able to bring that original design to life, it was one of the coolest things ever because it’s something that I’ve always imagined in my head. It was a really full-circle moment.”
The influencer also revealed that there is a lot to come for her new brand, including a collection to celebrate the Muslim festival of Ramadan later this year.
She said: “We have a Ramadan collection, a summer collection, and with long Canadian winters, we always have multiple drops then too. We have a lot planned for FARES! Within the first year of growing this business, it’s a lot of trial and error.”

So if a few bolts of tulle can help save someone then YES, we will be donating this gown to the highest bidder possible and matching that donation for Ukraine,” he wrote alongside an image of the dress, which utilizes the two colors of Ukraine’s flag.
“Prayers are with anyone suffering right now. (sic)”
The former ‘Project Runway’ winner added that anyone wishing to bid on the dress can do so by emailing info@christiansiriano.com.
The fashion world is uniting to support the people of Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country.
Bella Hadid just announced she is joining her sister Gigi Hadid in donating her earnings from Fashion Week 2022 to Ukraine relief.

Bella, 25, wrote on Instagram: “To watch my Ukrainian friends and colleagues working hard here in Europe, so close but so far from their families/friends/homes in Ukraine who are experiencing one of many brutal occupations and invasions happening right now in the world is a very emotional and humbling experience for me.
“We rarely have control of our work schedules and this week has really shown me the strength and perseverance of the people around me who are going through pure terror.
“To hear their stories and emotions first hand is devastating and I wholeheartedly stand with them in support. I stand along side every person that has been affected by this war and the innocent people who’s lives have been changed forever from the hands of ‘power.’ (sic)”
She then confirmed she will be donating her fees.
She added: “Taking after Mica and My amazing Sis, I will be donating all of my earnings from this Fashion Week directly to organizations that are providing help, refuge and medical aide to those in need on the ground in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support our Palestinian people and land. Gwen Stefani felt ‘intimidated’ buying makeup at department stores

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani used to find it “intimidating” browsing department stores for makeup.
The ‘Hollaback Girl’ hitmaker – who has just launched her own beauty brand GXVE – admitted she was always a “drugstore kind of girl” and would never dream of splurging the cash on expensive beauty brands.
The 52-year-old singer – who is rarely seen without her signature red lip – felt more comfortable buying budget beauty products from the pharmacy than being made to feel “stupid” by the “flawless” store assistants.
She said: “We’re talking about a lot of years ago, a lot of makeup, and a lot of memory loss [laughs]. I’ve tried a lot. Early on, back in Anaheim, I was a drugstore kind of girl. I didn’t ever dream of spending the kind of money that it took to buy things like Lancome or Clinique. Those mall and department-store brands were out of my league. I’d walk in, and it was complete intimidation by people wearing smocks with flawless faces. If I’d ask them what that product was for, I was going to feel so stupid. So I’d just walk straight on by to the drugstore and have the freedom to shop.”
However, that changed when Sephora launched.
She added: “When Sephora came out, they were able to make it a little less intimidating and give you space. It’s still super overwhelming because there is so much product.”
Gwen added her honesty over the years means her fans can “trust” GXVE.
She continued: “But something I feel excited about with GXVE is that because I’ve been so consistent and honest throughout the years, people can trust me on this.”
Despite feeling intimidated at first, Gwen actually ended up fulfilling her childhood dream to become a “makeup girl” working on the beauty counter at a department store back home in Anaheim, California, after a stint working in the older women’s clothing department.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, she shared: “At the mall, I actually got my start working in Plaza Sportswear, which was basically an older women’s department store filled with polyester. It was so fulfilling because, even though the clothes were horrifying, the women would come in kind of desperate for help to put an outfit together. And I could put an outfit together with anything. I don’t know why, but I can go to a thrift store and find a gem in five minutes. It’s a gift I have, I guess.”
And it didn’t take long for the future No Doubt star to become a beauty expert.
She added: “But I just really wanted to be the makeup girl. They all looked so pretty, and it looked so fun over there. I knew that I could do it, so I asked if I could be behind the counter – and they literally just put me behind the counter. They did not teach me anything or have me meet with a representative of the brand. Nothing. I was working for Borghese and Ultima II.”

Sydney Sweeney was never a ‘girly girl’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sydney Sweeney was never a “girly girl” growing up.
The ‘Euphoria’ star – who plays Cassie in the hit HBO teen drama – has always been “super athletic” and even got moved to a boys’ soccer team, because she was “too rough”.
She said: “I love being super athletic and pushing myself further than what is expected of me, and surprising people.
“I couldn’t stand being treated like a girly girl, or having people being soft to me.
“[At first] I was on a girls’ soccer team, and I would get red-flagged all the time. They’d be like, ‘You tripped this person. You shouldered this person.’ And so I was a little too rough, so my dad put me into a boys’ soccer team and I did well.”
While Syndey’s alter ego is known for her trendsetting makeup looks, Sydney herself opts for a more natural look with a drop of tanning mouse in her day-to-day life.
The SOL by Jergens self-tan ambassador said: “I’m pretty much a minimalist when it comes to [off-duty] makeup.
“I usually just wear the [Sunless Tanning] Water Mousse from Jergens and a little bit of makeup, and that’s it.”
The 24-year-old beauty also revealed that 50s’ and 60s’ sex symbol Brigitte Bardot was the main inspiration for Cassie’s eye makeup.
Syndey created moodboards for the show’s makeup artist Donni Davy to work from.
Speaking to Allure, she said: “I sent her pictures and mood boards. [This season] I had a lot of Brigitte Bardot was a lot of my inspiration for Cassie. I really wanted to incorporate a lot of her eye makeup. I loved what she did with her eyes all the time and then her hair. I think that she had this beautiful just confidence with her sexuality that I want Cassie to attain.”

Avril Lavigne ‘can’t stand other people doing’ her makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Avril Lavigne “can’t stand other people doing” her makeup.
The ‘Sk8ter Boi’ hitmaker is very particular about what she wants her face to look like and needs to be involved with the process as “no one can do it right”.
The 37-year-old singer told Allure: “I just can’t stand people doing my makeup, because I know how I like it. If anything, I do half of it or let them touch me up.”
“No one can do it right. Plus, I can’t sit in a chair for an hour while someone’s doing my makeup. It drives me nuts, especially when I can do my smoky eye in two minutes.”
On days when she has to be on a shoot, Avril will begin her beauty routine when she “literally” wakes up.
She said: “I literally wake up, I go to my bathroom, and start my makeup,” starting with her skincare routine before working in this order; a brows, foundation and eyes.
Despite using the same MAC eyeliner – in the shade Smoulder – to rim her eyes that she did 20 years ago, Avril now understands that you have to mix up the colour to “get it a good shape”.
Avril told the magazine: “I’ve learned over the years that you want to do some browns in there and some gray in with it, too. Then you use the black. If you just do solid black, it’s really hard to get it a good shape.”
Another additional step, the ‘Girlfriend’ singer has added to her look is liquid eyeliner, which took her until relatively recently to master.
Avril said: “It’s a little more glamorous, I’ll wing it out with a liquid liner. It took me literally up until a year ago to figure out how to use liquid eyeliner. It was always so hard for me. And now I can just — ha, ha, no pun intended — wing it and do it really fast.”

While on the red carpet, the 28-year-old country star told Entertainment Tonight: “I went Saint Laurent head to toe with some jewels. It’s like, sleeker than I’m used to, and I kind of love that. But I get to do three looks tonight and each look combines every part of my personality so, it’s very fun. I feel kind of Hepburn-ey.”
Kelsea also gushed about performing with the “icon and living legend” Dolly Parton at the award ceremony on Monday night (07.03.22).
She said: “Man, I’m from east Tennessee so like, I grew up going to Dollywood, like, waiting in line at the Christmas parade when she would come through. She’s just an icon and living legend and to be around her is just, the air changes and we’ve gotten to rehearse several times and so I’ve gotten to be around her and every time she is just so consistently Dolly. She’s kind and she’s witty and she’s smart and knows what she wants and I just, to be around people like her as a newer female artist, you’re just like, OK, that’s how its done. I’m taking notes. I’m in the school of Dolly Parton, it’s amazing.”
