Reese Witherspoon thinks ’empowering’ to age ‘gracefully’

OHMYGOSSIP — Reese Witherspoon thinks “there’s something empowering about aging gracefully”.
The ‘Legally Blonde’ star says some of the “important” lessons she’s ever learnt about beauty philosophies is just accepting getting older.
The 45-year-old actress told Body+Soul: “There’s something empowering about ageing gracefully.
“I see so many women who have that self-critical voice, which can start with how your mother, grandmother or sisters see themselves.
“The most important thing I want women to know is it’s about being the best version of yourself that you can possibly be. And that you should be investing in yourself and really carving out some time to care for your skin and yourself. It’s so important.”
Reese attributes this attitude to her mother and grandmother, who taught her that getting on was not “a setback”.
She said: “I’m 45 now, so my skin and beauty philosophies have changed over the years. I was lucky to have women in my life who loved ageing and getting older – like my mother and grandmother – and I saw it wasn’t something that should be looked at like a setback.”
The Academy Award winner urges her 22-year-old daughter Ava – who she shares with her ex Ryan Phillippe, 47, along with their 18-year-son Deacon – to put on “sunscreen twice a day” as a vital skin care process but also enjoys learning from her.
Reese – who also has eight-year son Tennessee with her husband Jim Toth – said: “she actually teaches me. She’s so knowledgeable about skin care and make-up, and I think she comes from a generation of YouTube tutorials and these kids are very savvy about product and application. So I learn a lot from her.
“We do talk about sunscreen a lot, too.
“Whatever you do for your skin in your early 20s is really going to show up later in life. So sunscreen twice a day is a really important part of our routine.”

Victoria Beckham has ‘always loved beauty products’

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham has “always loved beauty products”.
The former Spice Girl – who now runs her eponymous high end fashion line – felt there was a “gap in the market” based on what she wanted to use for herself, prompting her to collaborate with Sarah Creal, who was the head of product development at Estee Lauder, to establish a cosmetics range, Victoria Beckham Beauty.
The 47-year-old fashion designer told W magazine: I’ve always loved beauty products but felt there was a gap in the market for clean, high-performing, luxury products—some of which were missing from my own makeup bag. When I met my co-founder, Sarah Creal, a longtime beauty executive, we discovered we had a shared passion and philosophy; a future where cleanly formulated, sustainably minded, cruelty-free, and high-performing products are the norm—and we were inspired to create it together.”
Victoria – who has sons Brooklyn, 23, Romeo, 19, Cruz, 17, and daughter Harper, 10, with her husband David Beckham, 46 – loves a “glossy pout nude lip” so she uses her Lip Definer in 02 before adding Posh Gloss in Tanline or Poolside from her Posh Glosses line.
She said: “For my own glossy nude lip, I start with Lip Definer in 02 just around my cupid’s bow and bottom lip. Then, I apply Posh Gloss ($28/£26) in either Tanline or Poolside on the top and bottom, with an extra touch in the center for a higher shine. I love that I can skip the balm and yet my lips are super moisturized. The ingredients are clean, and they are not at all sticky.”
In addition, Victoria loves her Smoky Eye Brick ($56/£50) to “create” her eye look.
She said: “I love to use Smoky Eye Brick in Signature to create my eye. I use the lightest shade as a primer, the mid-tone brown to contour my eyelids, and dust along my lash line and under my eye. I use the darkest blue from my Smoky Eye Brick in Royal to line my lashes and add a small flick using a super angled brush.”

Lisa Rinna is adding a lip plumper to Rinna Beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Rinna is adding a lip plumper to her ‘Rinna Beauty’ line.
‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star is extending her beauty line to help her fans to get the look from the “lip pioneer” herself.
The 58-year-old actress told WWD: “I mean, I jokingly call myself the lip pioneer, because I literally was one of the very first to augment my lips when I was 24 years old.”
Lisa – who has two daughters Delilah Belle, 23, and Amelia Gray, 20, with her husband Harry Hamlin, 70 – admitted she began getting them made bigger “a very long time ago”.
She quipped: “And if you do the math, that’s a very long time ago. So, to come full circle — I mean everyone and their mothers has done it. Like, I can’t tell you if there’s anyone in Los Angeles that I work with that hasn’t augmented their lips. Now it’s an accepted thing.”
Lisa has “always” wanted to do a plumper since she first launched her “initial vision” – a range of lipsticks, liners and glosses – in 2020.
She said: “The lip kit was really my initial vision, but we always were going to do a plumper, because, authentically, that makes a lot of sense. It just does. I mean, it would be stupid not to.”
The former ‘Days of Our Lives’ star called the vegan and packed with peptide product “not your normal plumper” – which retails for $24 – as its lighter in texture and aims to moisturise and “benefits your lips over time”.
Lisa said: “It’s not your normal plumper that, you know, happens quickly, and it’s kind of red hot and your lips kind of burn. This is not that at all. This is about lip health and lip care and about making it so that it benefits your lips over time; it works on the fine lines. It plumps them up — in 28 days of use, your lips are actually bigger.”

Edward Enninful is ‘so thrilled’ to show off the cover of his memoir A Visible Man

The British Vogue editor-in-chief posted an image of the front of the book -which was snapped by Rafael Pavarotti, who has worked with brands as Dior – on Twitter.
The 50-year-old fashion journalist wrote: “I am so thrilled to finally be able to share the cover of my forthcoming memoir, ‘A Visible Man’, photographed by @RafaelPavarotti_. Released globally on 6 September 2022.”
The book – according to the pre-order description – is a celebration of his life – which began in his childhood spent in Ghana to the epicentre of pop culture – and career in the fashion industry.
It reads: “From his childhood bedroom in Ghana to the ground zero of grunge in 1990s London; the drag queens and rock stars of New York nightlife to the helm of the world’s most elite industry; this September, the unseen arbiter of fashion and culture tells his story for the first time.”
The fashion tastemaker was inspired to write following “the frantic hustle of fashion slowed a little” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In December, Edward said: “In the last two years, the frantic hustle of fashion slowed a little – and alongside it came a powerful moment of societal change. Suddenly, all the things I had worked so hard to champion in my career – inclusively, opportunity, beauty in all its forms – felt as if they were top of the agenda. I’ve been extremely blessed with a platform to lead some of those conversations, and so – with a moment of calm to myself – the time had come to tell my own story for the first time.”

Claudia Sulewski sometimes does her ‘own glam’ for red carpets

The ‘I Love My Dad’ star “pulled out all the stops” however for the new James Morosini movie – which also stars Patton Oswalt, Amy Landecker and Ricky Velez – with her vintage John Galliano gown.
The 26-year-old actress told Nylon: “I often do my own glam, I figure out my outfits and I feel like I am just always passing for presentable. This was the time to just pull out all the stops.”
Claudia – who shot to fame as a YouTuber – reflected on “funny” times she had interviewing famous people at showbiz events and the difference between then and now.
She said: I did a lot of red carpet stuff for young Hollywood parties, and it’s been such a funny experience to now meet so many of the people that I interviewed. We just have to laugh about it. It’s wild to be able to reflect on where life has taken me… Now there are actresses and actors that are either around my age, that I’ve looked up to and seen their careers unfold beautifully who come up to me, and say, ‘I grew up watching your videos.’… It’s so surreal.”
Claudia – who is in a relationship with Billie Eilish 24-year-old brother and musical collaborator Finneas O’Connell – reflected that people’s social media can be “like a persona” and is “grateful” to have kept it real because of how it allow people to see differences in her acting.
“With YouTube and social media, and when you’re looking at Instagram and photos are glammed up, that can feel very much like a persona. With my YouTube videos, I try to keep them as stripped back as possible, because I think what people gravitate towards is honesty and humility and vulnerability. I’m grateful to have always taken that approach, because I think that is what will make acting and YouTube feel so distinct from each other, if that makes sense. It will be very interesting to see people’s reactions to seeing me in a light they’re not used to. They feel that they know me so well, so that will just make it all that much more fun.”

Gemma Collins determined to continue with fashion label

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins vows to continue with her clothing line despite spiralling debts.
The former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star founded Gemma Collins Clothing Limited in 2013 but the company’s future is hanging by a thread due to financial problems.
According to a spokesperson, the 41-year-old star will continue to run her business as long as the company is solvent and it has always been a dream for Gemma to launch her own clothing line.
Publicly obtained records that highlight the reality star’s accounts for the year ending March 31, 2021, indicated the Essex fashion house was in financial difficulty.
They read: ” The company had net liabilities of £42,100. Given the above, there is a material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt as to the company’s ability to continue as a going concern and it may be unable to discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business.
“However, having regard to the current continued support of the creditors, they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the accounts.”
Gemma – who has a net worth of around £3.7 million, thanks to her TV stints on shows like ‘Dancing on Ice’, ‘TOWIE’ and ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, as well as her clothing collaborations with Simply Be and Evans – claimed £30,000 on furlough to pay staff.
The records showed that the company owes creditors £91,558, including £43,333 to businesses and £14,000 in tax to HMRC.
A representative for Gemma told MailOnline: “The business was put on hold after the pandemic to allow Gemma’s dad to recover from Covid. Gemma has more work personally than ever and didn’t have the capacity to run the business on her own, especially in a difficult climate.”
“Her business is solvent and has just relaunched. It is a real passion of hers. She will keep it going in spite of having more work with her other projects than ever before.”

Gunnar Peterson praises Mark Wahlberg’s ‘balanced’ physique

OHMYGOSSIP — Gunnar Peterson believes Mark Wahlberg’s enviable physique is attainable because he is “freakishly consistent”.
The ‘Boogie Nights’ actor famously wakes up at 2.30am to fit in his first workout of the day and also enjoys another exercise session in the afternoon, and although some may find his regime “ridiculous”, the elite fitness trainer insisted Mark’s honed and “balanced” body shape isn’t out of the realms of possibility for people to follow without the same extremes.
Asked the most popular male physique, he said: “Mark Wahlberg. I think his physique is balanced, it’s developed, it’s symmetrical and it’s relatable.
“Is it achievable? For sure, because it’s freakishly consistent, but you can do that. We have a rule in my family: never quit, never cancel, never late. And I’ve heard people say to me ‘that’s ridiculous. You can’t live by that.’
“Of course you can’t, but you can try to, and if you try to, you’ll do each one of those things a little bit less. So is that body achievable? Can you be as consistent as he is? Maybe not, but if you use that as your benchmark, you’ll be more consistent than you are right now, and that will get you closer to that physique.”
Gunnar has been appointed Chief of Athletics for F45 and he’s hopeful that the exclusive ascending weight, pyramid-style resistance workout he’s designed will be of particular appeal to men aged 40 to 60, though he thinks “everybody” should follow a similar regime.
He told Men’s Health magazine: “I took my first F45 class on Thanksgiving two years ago, and I walked out and I said you guys are missing your mark. You should be targeting this towards everybody, but especially guys 40 to 60.
“Obviously, you’re going to get the young ones because this is energetic and it’s fun, but people in that older demographic need to know that they can train like this. This is how we train in my gym, and this will yield the results that you’re looking for. It’s not trainers just winging it and throwing in an additional x amount of burpees to make you tired. Everybody should be training like this.
“Maybe not if you’re a pro bodybuilder, that demographic is probably not going to get their best results, but other than that, there’s nothing you can’t do in those classes.”
Gunnar’s workout will launchGu on the global F45 timetable in Spring 2022.

Lindsey Wixson is ‘glad’ she never worked with Victoria’s Secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsey Wixson is “glad” she didn’t book Victoria’s Secret.
The Fendi model had two chances to work with the global lingerie giant – who have since been rocked by many scandals, including their former CEO Leslie Wexler being accused of being linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein – but doesn’t regret not working along big industry names such as Gigi Hadid but “wasn’t really into it”.
The 27-year-old cover star told the Telegraph: “I’m really glad I didn’t go full on for it because I wasn’t really into it. And now they’re rebranding, and I don’t know – they haven’t called again.”
Lindsey detailed the unconventional casting she experienced as a 21-year-old, calling the lingerie that all the models wear as “gross” and how she felt she didn’t “stun” the bookers.
She said: “Normally, the casting director expects you to show up bare-faced, no makeup, not even cover-up for spots, and in clothes that will show off your body. And I go to this casting and I see the girls are in full hair and makeup. And I just thought, “I’m not getting this, I’m just doing this so my agent will be happy.” They have all this underwear that everyone tries on – it’s really gross – and I was right behind Gigi Hadid, and she says, ‘You got it, you’re everything that they want.” And I hug her and she goes out and she stuns. And then I go out and I don’t stun.”
After announcing a hiatus from modelling in 2017, returning the Miu Miu catwalk in 2018 and the changes the COVID-19 pandemic, Lindsey admitted to having her “goals” about who she works for changing, refusing to working with brand with “businesses that go against my personal beliefs,” such as not taking their eco-credentials seriously.
She said: “My goals as a model have shifted to try to hold brands accountable for business practices that go against my personal beliefs. I’ve had to explain to my agents that if a brand says they’re recycling polyester, I don’t care what they’re doing with polyester, because I want to stop working with brands that use polyester in the first place, because they still pollute with microplastics.”

Eva Longoria’s makeup artist says a face primer is essential in any makeup routine

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Longoria’s makeup artist says a face primer is very important in any makeup routine.
Elan Bongiorno – who has painted the ‘Desperate Housewives’ star’s face many times – believes “you have to use a primer” after your skincare routine
In a video posted to TikTok, she explained: “You got to prep your skin…you got to use a primer. So after you put on your potions, your lotions, your oils, your sunscreen…after you put that all on, you let it seep into the skin, and then you have to use a primer.”
Elan claims that primers – no matter your skin type – “helps your makeup glide on beautifully”.
She said: “A primer helps your makeup glide on beautifully. It’s going to fill in any of those pores, any fine lines, and wrinkles. You’re going to have a beautiful canvas for your makeup, and your makeup is going to last longer.”
For oily skin, she recommends using the Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Face Primer (£30/$32) as its “mattifying” and absorbs oil.
Elan said: “I have dry skin so I’m going to use a luminizing primer…if you have problematic skin, if you have large pores, if you have oily skin, you’ll want to use a mattifying primer.”
For skin with red tones, Elan advises a “neutralising primer” – such as the COVERGIRL Trublend Base Business Face Primer ($7) – which has a “minty green tone to it”.
She said: “If you have some redness, you’ll want to use a neutralizing primer—it has a nice and minty green tone to it, so it’s going to neutralize all that redness in your skin.”

She told America’s Vogue magazine: “I dress like a little boy. You couldn’t catch me in a dress willingly at this point in my life.
“I’m dead-on. I know what I like. I always have, since I was young. And I’ve never drifted.”
And Bella is aware her look has been copied by millions of other women who have been inspired by posts on social media.
She added: “I look outside and I see a hundred people dressed exactly like me, just because of what Instagram is.”
The brunette beauty is an avid user of online resale platform Depop and takes pride in her user rating.
She said: “I don’t know if anybody knows it’s me, but it’s always like, very sweet buyer! Awesome buyer!”
Bella originally planned to study photography and when she’s on set for a job, she’s interested in every aspect of the photoshoot.
She said: “On set everybody laughs at me, because I’m going around asking people about the lights, or why some photographer liked to shoot on a Hasselblad, or how the art director decided on the character he wanted me to be.”
The model suggested her least favourite part of a photoshoot is having her picture taken.
She added: “I look like I might be micromanaging, but what’s happening is I am production, I am creative, I’m figuring out what hair and make-up are doing, I’m helping with styling. I love to be a part of that process. Sometimes I think I love everything except being in front of the camera.”

Andie MacDowell gets fashion advice from daughter Margarey Qualley

OHMYGOSSIP — Andie MacDowell gets fashion advice from her daughter.
The ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ star praised Margaret Qualley as “fashion-forward and super cool” so knows she can always trust the 24-year-old actress’s opinions.
She said: “I think my daughter is very fashion-forward and super cool. I ask her all the questions about how to think about things.
“I truly look to her as an adult now. ”
Discussing her favourite boots, she added: “I discovered Blundstones because of my daughter [Margaret]. My sweet son lives in Montana, he and his partner are very humble. I called them up and I said, ‘Do you have Blundstones? Do you realise how cool you are?’ And they just loved hearing that.”
The 62-year-old actress – who also has Justin, 35, and Rainey, 31, with ex-husband Paul Qualley – finds it hard to find a foundation that “enhances” her skin but thinks she’s finally found the right base for her.
She told The Cut: “For my generation, [I like] the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect 4-in-1 Tinted Balm—that’s what’s on my face right now. I don’t usually like base, I think it’s really hard to find one that actually enhances your skin.
“This one is moisturising, so it’s not heavy. It takes the redness out and evens out your skin tone. It actually makes your skin look prettier.”
Andie admitted knowing an item is “high-fashion” makes it easy to like.
Discussing a $200 Mejuri gold necklace, she said: “This necklace is very high-fashion right now. It’s not something I would normally think is cool, but my friend who is a jewellery maker had it on last year, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s in now?’ It’s so funny, as soon as you know something is high-fashion, you dig it. So here I am.”

Gwen Stefani ‘didn’t know’ she could have a make-up line

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwen Stefani “didn’t know” she could have her own make-up line.
The No Doubt frontwoman – who has collaborated with the likes of L’Oreal, Revlon, and Urban Decay in the past – has always loved cosmetics but it’s taken her until now to bring out her own range, GXVE, and she explained she was “naive” to the idea of celebrity beauty products a decade ago.
Asked why she’s brought out the range now and not when celebrity beauty was less of a trend years ago, she said: “I didn’t know you could have a make-up line. I was naive. Make-up was just there.”
And the ‘Don’t Speak’ hitmaker thinks her products are far better than any other celebrity-backed line.
She told Refinery29: “You can fight me on this.
“I’ve never really felt as confident as I do with this project. Any journalist can come in and say, oh another celebrity beauty brand. They’re never gonna touch this.
“This s*** is so real, it’s so authentic, and I don’t mean that in a cocky way, I just mean this is the truth.”
Gwen insisted she’s never been trying to “hide” anything with make-up and cosmetics have always been key to her identity.
She said: “I would always get a lot of s*** for [wearing make-up]. People would say, you’re wearing a mask, what are you trying to hide? No, I just love make-up. I just think I look better when I have it on… I love the creative process behind it.
“Listen to my songs. I [have always] talked about make-up. I wrote a song called ‘Magic’s in the makeup’ 20 years ago.
“There’s a song called ‘Orange County Girl’ I wrote with Pharrell and there’s a line in it that talks about how I used to sell make-up at the mall. I forgot I even put it in a song. It’s just a huge part of who I am.”
