Paris Jackson’s first lipstick was inspired by 1980s rock stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Jackson’s first lipstick was inspired by 1980s rock stars.
The 24-year-old model – who is the daughter of the late music legend Michael Jackson and his second wife Debbie Rowe – revealed that she first bought red liquid liner from KVD Beauty, because of her favorite 80s rock stars — performers like Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx of the rock band Motley Crue.
Sh told Allure: “All those really cool dudes from the ’80s wore red lipstick. I wanted to be like Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx and the first one I picked happened to be from KVD and I stuck with it.”
The ‘Yellowbird’ singer went on to explain that while she still likes to stick to her original choice, these days she uses a few more products than when she first started experimenting with makeup.
She added: “I actually have to use a different liquid liner that does smudge [as a base], and once I get that shape and the smudge that I want, then I put the Tattoo Pencil liner on top of it, because I like those colors more and it lasts longer.”
The ‘Habit’ actress – who is the new face of KVD Beauty’s Tattoo Pencil- went on to claim that she chose to work with the brand because it “embraces true beauty” and explained that she often cheers herself up by wearing make-up.
She said: “It just talks about embracing true beauty, which I believe comes from the inside, which I think is a really cool practice. We work on the inside first, and then we go outwards.
If I’m feeling down on myself, there’s something on the inside going on. It’s like a house, right? If the foundation of the house is not strong, you can’t fix the house by putting a pretty paint job on it or adding new shingles on the roof. You fix the problem by going inward and fixing that. So when the house is sturdy and good to go, then you can paint on top of it and make it look perfect.”
The model added: “I narrow in on my insecurities and I do a contrary action. That means whatever is contrary to my deepest insecurity, I write it down on a piece of paper every night. And I write a gratitude list every night as well.”

Taraji P Henson wants affordable beauty

OHMYGOSSIP — Taraji P. Henson insisted self-care doesn’t have to be expensive.
The ‘Empire’ actress has introduced a new line of body care products, Body by TPH, which retails at less than $12 from Walmart and she admitted it was very important to her that the range be accessible.
She told InStyle.com: “Taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be expensive. Yes, the spa is there, but inflation is happening. People are having to cut back on things, but why should you have to cut back on self-care? It affects your mental health.”
The product range – which comprises three collections, The Cleanse + Condition Coalition, The Skin Stylers, and Restoration Rituals – boasts minimal packaging in neutral tones and the actress hopes it will help bring the spa experience home.
She said: “It’s clean and it reminds you of the spa. I came up with this neutral colour palette because I was thinking of different colours of skin – if you have skin it’s for you.”
And Taraji hopes the products will help people set their own beauty “rituals” when they still feel unable to have spa treatments.
She said: “People are a little traumatised from the pandemic and they’re not socialising as much or going to spas as much because there’s still the fear of COVID.
“During shutdown, I was teaching people how to do their hair at home and now it’s like, let’s turn that Sunday chore into a ritual. While you have your hair mask on, you can indulge in a nice deep, relaxing bath with a relaxing candle. Or you can get your energy the next morning from the mandarin and ginger in the body cleansing line.”

Beanie Feldstein felt pressure to lose weight as a teen

OHMYGOSSIP — Beanie Feldstein felt “pressure” to lose weight in her early teens.
The ‘Booksmart’ actress was always “chubby” and “bigger” than her classmates and followed either Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers diet plans from the ages of 11 to 13, but once she hit her later teen years, she realised it wasn’t her with the “problem”.
She told America’s Vogue magazine: “It was clear to me that I was chubby and that I was bigger, and for a long time, because I was a kid, I would do what the adults were telling me to do, which is to try to not be that way.
“I think I felt a lot of pressure from society, from my family, from my community. Then around 16 or 17, I just thought, ‘I’m fine. There’s nothing wrong with me.’ One day I realised, ‘I’m not the problem. This standard is the problem.’”
Although standards of beauty can be tough in Hollywood, Beanie believes they are even worse in the world of musical theatre.
She said: “I have friends who used to have to ‘weigh in’ for their musical-theatre programmes. That should be illegal.”
The 28-year-old actress can next be seen in the Broadway revival of ‘Funny Girl’ and she’s amazed to have finally landed her dream role of Fanny Bryce.
She said: “The expression ‘lifelong dream’—that statement feels very applicable to me. It still does not feel tangible or real.”
When she was just three years old, Beanie even requested a birthday party themed around the musical.
She recalled: “Other people had Elmo or Little Mermaid balloons. I thought my mom could just go to Party City and buy Barbra Streisand balloons.”
Instead, her mom created a tiny version of the leopard-print coat and pillbox hat Barbra wore in the movie, and sent out invitations stating: “Our Funny Girl is turning 3′.

Alicia Vikander: Nicolas Ghesquiere is a ‘brilliant artist’

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Vikander thinks Nicolas Ghesquiere is a “brilliant artist”.
The ‘Tomb Raider’ actress has been a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton for seven years and still enjoys her association with the fashion house because of the creative director of womenswear’s vision.
She gushed to the new issue of Britain’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “Nicolas is a brilliant artist who, every year, manages to recreate and reinvent something.”
Alicia loves getting “dressed up” and walking the red carpet but acknowledged posing for pictures gives people a very different impression to what being a movie star is like, as she admitted it is much more difficult than just promoting their work.
She said: “I get excited about dressing up.
“People come and see us at a premiere dressed up and walking these carpets, and that’s fun, of course. But that’s the illusion of what the industry is.
“[The reality is] interest, and passion, and a will to make something. It’s four months where a bunch of strangers work 15-hour days, six days a week, and don’t sleep.”
The 33-year-old actress previously admitted wearing Nicolas’ creations feels like her “armour” that can protect her from the glare of fame.
The Oscar-winning star said previously: “Nicolas is a risk-taker. His work is fashion-forward but relatable. I feel cool and feminine in his clothes. They’re like my armour.”
Nicolas added that the ‘Ex Machina’ star has a “strong sense of self and style” and praised her for never compromising herself.
He said: “Alicia has a strong sense of self and style. Her life and career have been on a very fast trajectory, and yet she has remained the same determined, confident, and beautiful young woman since the beginning.
“I am always impressed by people who don’t make compromises. She can transform herself without betraying herself.”
The new issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK is on sale now.

Jon Batiste wore a 15-foot cape for his Grammy Awards performance

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Batiste wore a 15-Foot cape for his Grammy Awards performance.
The 35-year-old musician – who took home five awards including Album of the Year for ‘We Are’ at the 64th annual awards ceremony – gave a performance of his hit ‘Freedom’ live on stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (03.04.22 )and stylist Ugo Mozie explained that his “unforgettable” outfit was created by an army of 20 designers.
Ugo said: “His performance look is regal, luxurious, unforgettable. They flew 20 people from their atelier in Milan to Vegas and set up a whole creative costume workshop downstairs, where they are creating everything on site for us. So it’s a pretty magical fashion experience happening in Vegas right now! The looks were all designed individually to reflect everyone’s personality. I went to Milan three weeks ago to meet with Piergiorgio [Meschini, head menswear designer] at the atelier and we went through all the designs.”
The stylist went on to explain that the team were aiming for a look that was “bold and flashy” with a “tribal element” for his appearance and revealed that Dolce and Gabbana – who designed all the costumes – were chosen because they gave Jon and his team “creative control.”
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “We had to think which brand in the world could create our vision, nail the costumes, and give us the creative control to be able to collaborate. We were going for bold and flashy, something that really catches the light. It’s a very rich, sequined fabric with a custom yellow-and-gray geometrical print that has a tribal element to it that feels like Africa and New Orleans. It was paired with a clean white silk shirt, a 15-foot-long trained cape and piles of Boucheron jewellery.
Ugo also revealed that for the performance – which reflected the Grammy Award winning music video – the costumes and the set went hand in hand.
He added: “”The stage is completely custom built — every pole, every detail. We lined up the fabrics to the color of the walls; we matched the silhouettes and shapes of the clouds to elements on the outfits. We wanted to create a world where the stage and the costumes and the props all flowed together. In the music video, there’s so much vibrancy and action and liveliness happening. We wanted to bring that same energy to the stage.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Saweetie wanted to represent her “crown chakra” with her Grammys outfit.
The 28-year-old rapper – whose real name is Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper – donned a hot pink two-piece by Valentino for her appearance on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday (04.03.22) and explained that she wanted an outfit to reflect her spiritual happiness.
Asked what story she was trying to tell with the ensemble by Laverne Cox, who was reporting for E! News, she said: “Thank you, it’s by Valentino and right now I’m representing my crown chakra.”
Laverne then asked: “You’re representing your crown chakra because you’re the queen?”, to which Saweetie quipped: “I mean, that’s what they tell me!”
The rap star – who later changed into a black gown with a mesh bodice and crystal detailing – was nominated for Best Rap Song for her hit ‘Best Friend’, which she released with fellow rapper Doja Cat, and while that honour eventually went to Kanye West and Jay-Z for their song ‘Jail’, Saweetie went on to heap praise on Doja.
She said: “She’s amazing, she looks good, she raps bomb and I just love her. I met her, like, three years ago, so I met her before we did the collaboration. I’m just so excited for us tonight.”

Billy Porter wore the ‘colour of the season’ at the Grammys

OHMYGOSSIP — Billy Porter wore the “colour of the season” to the Grammy Awards 2022.
The 52-year-old star – who is known for his flamboyant statement-making red carpet looks – wore his hair in braids and painted his lips blue as he donned the fuchsia Valentino number, which had been chosen specially for him from the runway.
He told E! News: “The colour of the season I hear is fuchsia and Valentino sent this over for me to wear from the runway. So you have to say yes to that!”
The ‘Pose’ star – who completed his look with a pair of silver heels – was asked if he ever envisioned himself being able to wear such a diverse outfit way back when he won ‘Star Search’ in 1992.
He said: “Actually yes to part of it, but not to the part to where I get to be myself. I was trying to be somebody else. I was trying to be masculine enough to fit in. That didn’t work out so well, so when I started to be authentic and be myself, stuff started to happen. So I am happy. It’s nice.”
The Broadway actor – who was attending the event to hand out an award – went on to explain that he and Laverne Cox – who is transgender – are “living proof” of how power can enforce change.
He said: “We are living proof of that. It’s only inside of us, standing inside the power of our authenticity and truth, that we can change the world for other people. We in this space give the whole world permission.”

Tyra Banks is ‘inspired’ by Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyra Banks thinks Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand is “inspiring.”
The 48-year-old model was tapped by Kim, 41, to pose for her SKIMS shapewear line and while she hadn’t modelled lingerie for several years, she decided to get on board after calling the “business-savvy” reality star and listening to her “loving, instinctive words.”
She told Vogue: “Kim reached out to me, and we had a beautiful heart-to-heart conversation about the campaign. I’ve respected her business savvy for quite a while; after that call, my respect grew to an even greater level. … I hadn’t modeled lingerie and undergarments in so long, but I said yes after speaking with Kim and hearing her thoughtful, loving, and instinctive words! I admire Kim for bringing fashion to shapewear and making it so sexy and bada**. Kim has made her mark in the shapewear industry and hearing her talk about what makes her brand different is inspiring.”
Tyra – who was a professor at Stanford University between 2017 and 2020 – went on to explain that the brand “embodies” the importance of being different and thanked ‘The Kardashains’ star for their “heart-to-heart” phone call.
She said: “I lectured for three years at Stanford’s Business School, and the first thing I would tell my students is, “Different is better than better.” With SKIMS, Kim is embodying that fully. I feel this when I see the products in the world, when I wear the products, how I see them position and market the products. It’s all different. And that’s what makes Skims extra special. I am so proud to collaborate with her and these Icons. Kim, thank you for that heart-to-heart call we had about this campaign. All I can say is, ‘You were right.’”
The ‘Dancing with the Stars’ host – who reunited with fellow Victoria’s Secret angels Heidi Klum, 48, Alessandra Ambrosio, 40, and Candice Swanepoel, 33, for the campaign – also expressed her love for the other models she worked with during the SKIMS photoshoot.
She said: “Heidi and I shared a room to get ready. I love that woman. She’s pure effervescent happiness. Oh, and that body of hers is on fire! Still! And I kept stealing food from Heidi’s snack table because she ordered tastier things than I did. I was excited to work with Candice because I’d never worked on set with her before. Whoa, that gorgeous lady is the queen of the back arch. I’d pull a muscle if I tried to mock her back bending moves! Alessandra is frozen in time. She looks the same as when I retired. Actually, I believe she’s even more beautiful.”

H.E.R. used to feel pressured to get rid of her natural curls

OHMYGOSSIP — H.E.R. used to feel the need to get rid of her natural curls.
The 24-year-old singer – whose real name is Gabriella Wilson – admitted that she would often “flat-iron” her naturally wavy locks after feeling the pressure to “conform”.
She explained: “It’s funny, because my mom didn’t really know how to do my hair because it was so big and curly. My mom’s Filipino and she has straight hair, so she would take me to hair salons and they would hook it up. I always flat ironed it, put heat on it, [tried to] figure it out, as opposed to trying to wear my natural curls. I don’t think I realized it as a kid, but it was definitely something where I felt like, ‘Oh, I need to conform.’”
However, the ‘Back of My Mind’ hitmaker added that nowadays she is learning to embrace her natural beauty, and that her “real” self is just a stripped-back version of her persona as H.E.R.
She told Allure: “H.E.R. is the real me, but it’s still a persona. So me being stripped [back] and not wearing makeup or big glasses is my disguise in a way. It’s kind of like me hiding in plain sight. I just tuck my hair away and people don’t recognize me. I’m not even going to blame the music industry for making me present myself in a certain way. I present the way I want to and I never thought the industry was forcing me to do that kind of thing. Being on camera, you want to look your best.
I’ve definitely unpacked a lot of things that I thought made me myself and then realized I don’t need. I don’t have to get my nails done every two weeks. It doesn’t make me more or less of a woman if I don’t get my eyebrows done. Once I realized that, I was much less reliant on those things.”
The Grammy Award winner also explained that she feels the “most beautiful” when she is “happy” and has done her make-up herself.
She added : “I feel the most beautiful when I’m happy, when I’m having a good time, and when I’m chilling. When my hair is natural and I have a little bit of makeup on — or when I do it myself, actually. Anything that I do myself and put some effort into, that’s when I feel beautiful.”

Andrew Garfield relished his Yves Saint Laurent collaboration

He told Vanity Fair: “It’s been incredibly fun to work with the brilliant people on the team in creating looks that feel like an extension of my style combined with the Saint Laurent specific aesthetic.
“To be honest, when I wanted to take time for myself, that’s when fashion has become most vital. In those moments when I need to retreat from public view so that I can refill the well and ground myself in my ordinariness and just being.”
The 38-year-old actor attended the Oscars in a silky black shirt, which he paired with black gabardine trousers and a burgundy velvet blazer.
The ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ star credited his stylist Warren Alfie Barker for helping him achieve his distinctive look.

Andrew said: “I try and let go of any outcome and surrender to the night. It’s always fun … It’s never not been fun. A celebration and a gratitude ritual.
“To be a part of cinema history, I always get struck with the feeling of being an 18-year-old acting student, studying theatre and working at Starbucks and trying to make a living. So to sit next to my heroes and be nominated especially for a musical performance … It’s overwhelming.”

The pop star said: “I had the opportunity to either let my brand kind of slowly fade away into nothingness, or take on the challenge and bet on myself, as I do most of the time, and just up my game and really mean what I say when I say I want to be that boss a** b****.”
The 37-year-old singer also admitted she’s particularly excited to launch a spring line.
She told WWD: “I’m excited because [spring] is my favourite season when everything starts to come back to life and we thaw out. I am a product of the sun and I am a California girl. The chart-topping pop star – who has Daisy, 19 months, with movie star Orlando Bloom – explained: “My own style has evolved since 2008 in that, for me, I still want to have fun and humour is a big part of my personality, especially when I am in the public eye.
“I like being able to be sophisticated and elevated, while still being playful. That’s really my vibe.”

Kate Moss enters metaverse as supermodel avatar

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss has teamed up with Messika for the fashion styling game Drest.
The 48-year-old model – who shot to global stardom during the 90s – has entered the metaverse as a model avatar, and she worked alongside the jewellery brand to help develop the game.
Kate said: “The pieces Valerie Messika and I created work well in the game because of the many styling options. Drest will bring the collection to a whole new audience, and I’m excited to see how the players will style me over the next two weeks. My tip? You can never wear too many diamonds!”
Drest has been created by former Porter editor Lucy Yeomans. It’s the world’s first interactive styling game that lets users dress photo-realistic avatars, and Lucy has hailed Kate for embracing the innovative concept.
She said: “I told Kate about Drest in the very early stages of development. Back then, so many people in the fashion industry thought I was crazy to think the worlds of high-fashion and gaming could align, but not Kate. She got it immediately and loved the concept.
“Kate is a truly global fashion icon, so to have her make her first in-game avatar appearance in the Drest metaverse is incredibly exciting.”
Meanwhile, Valerie Messika – the daughter of the famous diamond merchant Andre Messika – explained the thinking behind the game.
She told Forbes: “Seeing the life-like quality of the jewels crafted in our atelier proves that Messika will be able to continue to push forward with new opportunities as this kind of technology continues to advance and prove more pertinent. It’s also an interesting way to create user-generated content in a completely new ecosystem and target new audiences.
“This collaboration with Drest offers unique access to a new audience while offering the chance to interact with the jewels. One of the principles imposed at Messika is that jewellery is deeply personal. This access allows one to style the jewels through their unique vision and tastes.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sofia Jirau says “there are no limits” after becoming the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down’s syndrome.
The 25-year-old model believes there is nothing that her disability – a condition caused by having an extra chromosome – can stop her from doing during Yahoo’s Women’s History Month livestream on Tuesday (29.03.22).
Sofia told the virtual audience: “I would say that they can work hard and make a living and take care of themselves. And I would tell them that inside and out there are no limits and you can accomplish so much that you set out to do and you can dream big.”
She attributed her determination to her mother and being a “very educated woman”.
Sofia said: “My mom inspires me because she is the best mom in the entire world and a mom that I love and adore since when I was little until now. My mom taught me to learn a lot of things and to not limit myself. And I don’t have any (limits). Because inside and out there are no limits. And I’m a very educated woman. And disciplined as well.”
The model – who made her debut at New York Fashion week in 2020 after starting modelling in 2019 – has always dreamed of being a “model and a businesswoman” since childhood.
The face of the lingerie giant’s Love Cloud collection “jumped on a plane” immediately after she was hired for the campaign.

Sofia’s “next dream” after working Victoria’s Secret – who overhauled their hyper-feminine marketing strategy after a series of misconduct allegations – is to dance alongside her favourite artists, such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga.
She said: “My next dream is to dance in a scene and to dance with all the artists and to meet Shakira, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez because they all inspire me.”

Jennifer Garner made “homemade chicken tenders” for her Oscars glam team

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Garner made “homemade chicken tenders” for her Oscars glam team.
‘The Adam Project’ star made a whole spread – including some healthy veggie crudite – to get ready for the 94th Academy Awards in “a relaxed environment” before her hair and makeup team came over to make her look her absolute Old Hollywood best to present at the most prestigious evening in the film calendar.

The pair- which also included makeup artist Yoshimoto Bua – planned her red carpet look around her red Brandon Maxwell gown -which was found by Jordan Johnson of the styling double act Jill Jordan – however the real inspiration was the 49-year-old actress herself and her beauty and felt they found a “sweet spot” to honour both.
