Paloma Elsesser thinks her fashion collaboration with Miaou “is a true marriage” of her the founder Alexia Elkhaim

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Elsesser thinks her fashion collaboration with Miaou “is a true marriage” of her the founder Alexia Elkaim.
The model loved working on a 30 piece plus-size line with her good friend, 30, as she was “so open” to her suggestions on garments.
During a chat between the pair for Interview magazine, the 30-year-old model said: “I think the collection is a true marriage of the two of us. You have a very bright, playful perspective on design. Mine’s a bit more specific—I wouldn’t say chic—but more formal. I like to have fun, but I operate from a belief that fashion is like armor. You were so open to me being like, ‘This needs to be more serious. This needs to be pointier.’ I’m also always trying to create ease—I mean, I can feel ease in a boned, laced corset, if it allows me to feel like my best self. There’s nuance to ease, it’s not just jeans and a t-shirt. There’s ease in feeling fab. What you’ve done with Miaou, creating consistent shapes with different patterns, allows the wearer to be like, “I want to go out tonight. What am I going to wear? Oh, this Miaou set.”
Paloma – who has rallied for more inclusivity in the fashion industry throughout her career – found it “cool” that accommodating larger bodies and their concerns were kept in mind throughout the design process with her friend, whose 00s style clothing is loved by names such as Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid
She said: It feels cool that we’ve been talking about size extension from the beginning—even in our private conversations. The early discussions were like, “What are the colors that you lean into? What shapes?” You really listened to me, which I really appreciated, that’s a kind of input that I don’t always get to have. When it came to design, we were talking about a top with a corseted back, and I could say to you, “That won’t work, because I wear a bra.” You were so receptive to my perspective, not just as a designer and businesswoman, but as my friend.”
In a statement for the launch, Alexia remarked she and Paloma wanted to make clothes that resonated with more body types”.
She said: “We wanted to create a collection that resonated with more body types and made each of our muses feel sexy, iconic, and empowered.
“This collection offers a glimpse into who we are as people, as well as friends and serves as a testament to how we’ve grown together to create something to share with you all.”

Gibson Gives have teamed up with sustainable jewellery brand the guitarwrist for a upcycled collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Gibson Gives have teamed up with sustainable jewellery brand the guitarwrist for a new upcycled collection.
The legendary guitar manufacturer – who have shaped music history for 128 years – is working with the not-for-profit jewellery line to bring out a range of rings, bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings named the guitarwrist x Gibson Gives Collection, complete with boxes inspired by guitar cases.
In a video made for the collaboration posted on YouTube, Danny Dela Cruz, the guitarist for the band Inglorious praised the “perfect partnership,” sharing that the pieces – which are made of repurposed guitar strings donated by Gibson – had “blown” his mind.
He said: “The pieces that the guitarwrist have created in this Gibson collaboration have actually blown me away. I mean, the cases themselves are emulating the custom shop/vintage cases that Gibson were actually coming out with back in the day and currently, I really like that little detail and touch that the guitarwrist have added. The fact that they can actually reuse played strings and turn them into bespoke pieces of jewellery that can then live on and actually support other charities is amazing. It’s the perfect partnership.”
While sharing what he loves about performing, Danny praised the “amazing work” of guitarwrist – which was founded by Ian Rendall and has raised over £100,000 for more than 50 charities and repurposed over 9,000 sets of guitar strings – who have been supported previously by many acts, including Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Stereophonics, Luke Combs, and Sam Fender.
He said: “Being on stage for me feels great because you’re not actually in the real world. You can let the adrenaline go and kind of connect with the crowd and you’re playing songs that you love. I’m expressing myself in the purest form. Working with Gibson and the guitarwrist has been an amazing experience. First of all, Gibson have this roster of most of my heroes, their instruments are super iconic and some of my favourite kind of guitars to actually use. I don’t have to worry about getting the right sound or how it feels. It just feels like an extension of myself, which is great. And when you thrown into the mix a brand like the guitarwrist that are doing some amazing work, keeping strings and metal out of landfill and turning it into an amazing product to actually raise money for charity, in this case, Gibson Gives.”

Becky G says her mother was her original style icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Becky G says her mother was her original style icon.
The ‘MAMIII’ hitmaker – who was born Rebecca Marie Gomez – says that the teenage version of her mother was “such a mood” and shared that she has “woven that influence into” her sophomore album ‘Esquemas’, the follow-up to 2014’s ‘Amore Mio’ .
After being asked who her “first fashion icon” was, the 25-year-old pop star told Interview magazine: “My mom—although looking back, she made some questionable fashion choices. My mom in high school was such a mood, and I’ve woven that influence into the album. I’m embracing my natural hair, which looks a lot like her hair as a teenager. I FaceTimed her after my glam team did my look for the album cover shoot, and she said, “You look like me in high school!” Just like I predicted she would. It was so funny.”
While giving advice to her own teenage self, Becky gushed that her “parents feel more like her brother and sister” due to them being young parents.
She said: “I would say enjoy the ride. Stop getting ahead of yourself. It’s not gonna be easy, but it’s always gonna be worth it. I’m the oldest of four kids–my parents were high school sweethearts, and they were babies having babies, so we all kind of grew up together. My parents feel more like my brother and sister, and they’re always tried their absolute best, but sometimes I’m like, “Okay, who do I look to? How do I do this?” When I was young, people would be like, “You’re so mature for your age!” I prided myself on that, without realizing that it’s because of this generational trauma that makes young parents not really fully present. So, 16-year-old Becky, ‘Don’t try to act like you’re 25, because then when you’re 25 you’re gonna feel 40.’”

Lindsey Vonn still working on first makeup collection

OHMYGOSSIP — Lindsey Vonn is still working on her first makeup collection.
The former Olympic skier – who was on hand to unveil sportswear brand Head’s new fall Legacy collection in New York this week – has opened up on her future plans.
She told WWD: “I’m still working on it. We had a whole line ready to go and then COVID[-19] derailed it. But that was actually good since it gave me time to rethink it. The makeup space is so crowded, it’s easy to get lost in the noise. So we need to find ways to be different.”
Vonn – who retired from the sport in 2019 – had already been tied to Head for a decade by that point, and she even wore the company’s skiis when she won her first Olympic medal.
She added: “I’ve actually been with Head since 2009… It’s always been great working with this company. The owner really believed in me.”
Despite their great relationship, she was initially hesitant to join the brand at first as she was limited to hard goods including skis, boots and bindings. But things changed for the brand when Roman Stepek joined in 2016 and branched out to apparel.
She added: “I was hesitant. Because Head was not established in the outerwear space.”
After sharing the same vision, the duo collaborated to make what Vonn dubs her “perfect line”, with a collection that’s practical to wear on the slopes as well as fashionable for après-ski.

Blake Lively uses her 2018 Met Gala look to show her kids who’s boss

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively reminds her children of her regalness at the 2018 Met Gala whenever they are “giving her attitude”.
The 34-year-old actress – who has daughters Inez, five, Betty, two, and seven-year-old James with husband Ryan Reynolds – quipped that if her girls play her up, she reminds them who is boss by showing them her Versace gown she wore for the fashion fundraiser’s ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme, complete with a crown, but her kids don’t get fooled.
Taking part in Vogue‘s ‘Life in Looks’ series, she laughed: “It’s something that when my kids are giving me attitude, I’m like, ‘This is your mom.’ I mean come on – I try to tell them that I’m real-life royalty and that they’re lucky that I’m raising them.
“They don’t buy it. They don’t believe it.”
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star always has a hand in the design of her ensembles and suggested several changes to make it all the more regal.
She recalled: “This one is actually a dress that they had made, but it had a train that was like this — it was a shorter train.
“So, we took this dress, and said, ‘Ok, can you guys add like 8 feet of train? Can you add beading on the inside?’ This had ruching in the middle, which kind of looked like it was too tight and pulling at the hips, so I was like, ‘We need to pick up that pattern here as well, so that it looks like a part of the dress.’”
Celebrity jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz created the makeshift crown out of brass and brown diamonds and paired it with emerald earrings.
Blake added: “And this was just a headpiece that Lorraine made, with these brown diamond and brass — it wasn’t even gold, it was brass — it was like bendable hardware store brass.
“These earrings she made the night before. She took these giant emeralds and stuck it on one of her sister, Ofira’s shield gold earrings, and she stuck an emerald on top, so, it was very makeshift.”

“Sometimes beauty doesn’t come naturally from within. But I’m so grateful that makeup inspired a bravery in me I didn’t know I had.
“I’ve come to accept that I discovered my beauty by having the ability to invent myself and transform. They said I was just weird, but really, I was just Born This Way. Love, Lady Gaga. (sic)”

Kane Lim is Fenty Beauty’s new brand ambassador

OHMYGOSSIP — Kane Lim is the new face of Fenty Beauty.
The ‘Bling Empire’ star has been tapped by close friend Rihanna to be a brand ambassador for her multimillion-dollar beauty brand, and admits it’s “very humbling”.
He told PEOPLE: “This has been very humbling.
“I have developed this newfound confidence because of this opportunity.”

He admitted: “I don’t know if people know this, but I suffer from a lot of insecurities. So, this partnership means a lot for me in terms of self-confidence. People look at my Instagram and think differently but that’s because you can curate and edit these posts, but with a campaign … it’s different. It’s more real. It was nerve-wracking… When I did the shoot, I was like, ‘Oh wow.’ This was the first picture where I actually didn’t need photoshop, which is incredible.”
The 31-year-old investor added: This is exactly why I’m doing this. I would like to show that everyone suffers from insecurities, and we are here to face those issues head-on.”
Kane developed a close bond with ‘Bling’ fan Rihanna, 34, over social media.
He spilled: “When season one of ‘Bling’ dropped, She was like, ‘So, when is season two coming out?’ From there, we’d DM emojis and fun stuff. She’s the sweetest person and when this came about I said, ‘You helped me a lot.’ This just means so much to me.”
Away from Fenty, Kane teased his own brand, BLING, an acronym for Because Life Is Never Guaranteed.
On the personal meaning behind the collection, he added: “It’s going to be clothing, it’s going to be a little bit of accessorizes, but it also symbolises my life journey.”

Blake Lively has ‘never had a stylist’

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively has “never had a stylist.”
The 34-year-old actress – who has graced the cover of Vogue several times over the course of her career and most recently wore a strapless copper Versace gown to the Met Gala 2021 – admitted that despite her status in fashion, has never worked with a stylist.
She said: “I don’t work with a stylist, I never have!”
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ actress went on to explain that she prefers to get “involved” in the creation of the dress when a look is taking shape and explained the inspiration behind her Met Gala outfit.
She told Vogue: ““I get very involved in the design of the dress—I don’t know if it’s because I’m a Virgo, or if I need a life. Instead of looking at Gilded Age fashion, I wanted to look at architecture. New York has been a critical part of who I am… so I thought, I would love to arrive in a copper dress and have it patina as I ascend the red carpet. Instead of me performing, I wanted the dress to perform.”
Explaining her dress at the prestigious event, Blake said: I’ve patinated. This dress is an homage to New York City and so many of the classic, iconic buildings. This is detailing from the Empire State Building, some of the draping from the Statue of Liberty…(and) the constellation from Grand Central Station. I thought a neat perspective on the theme would be looking at the city that I love so much and the architecture, rather than just the fashion.”

She said: “If [I’d stopped second-guessing myself sooner,] I would have felt a lot more confident in who I am. Confidence conquers anxiety.
I have a different routine for anxiety and I have a different routine for depression. If I go to sleep feeling anxious about something, I wake up and all those emotions come flooding back in like nothing ever happened.
So what I’ll do is go outside for some sun therapy on my back porch, because they say sunlight helps reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression. I also like to clean my whole house with citrus-scented things. I spray my cabinets with this lemon spray, then wipe them down with the lemon Lysol wipes.”
The ‘Suck It Up’ hitmaker – who shot to fame when her debut single ‘Beating Down Your Block’ went viral on TikTok in 2021 – explained that “baths with orange peel” or coloured pink with “sparkly bath bombs” are the key to helping her when she struggles mentally.
She told Allure: “I light lemon candles or orange candles, I drink lemon tea, I take a bath with orange peels. It’s like a breath of fresh air. If I’m feeling depressed, I will surround myself with things that I love the most. I love the color pink so I take a bath with a pink sparkly bath bomb.

Paris Jackson’s famous father taught her beauty comes from within

OHMYGOSSIP — Paris Jackson says her “free-love, hippie-type dude” father, the late Michael Jackson, inspired her to keep an “open mind” when it comes to beauty.
The 24-year-old musician-and-model – who is the daughter of The King of Pop and Debbie Rowe – says it was drummed into her that “beauty comes from the inside”, and so she’s always up for experimenting with her appearance.
Speaking to POPSUGAR, she said: “I try and always keep an open mind – not just with makeup, but with everything.
“I was raised by a free-love, hippie-type dude, so we were taught that beauty comes from the inside – and to this day, I still believe that.”
Paris’s signature look is a smokey eye.
She shared: “My go-to look is just a little bit of eyeliner at the very edge of my eye, like a wing, but I don’t really touch the eyelids as much.
“I feel like a smokey [eye] is somewhere between that and ’80s rock and roll.”

She said: “Recently, I’ve learned how to cope with it all by practicing self-love and affirmations and diving deeper into my spiritual life.
“It wasn’t until the last couple of years that I’ve started feeling really good about myself and my body, and feeling comfortable and everything. Those moments of self-love aren’t 24/7, but the bad moments are fewer and further between.”

Gabrielle Union felt she was ‘trimming away my femininity’ with shorter hair

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle Union used to feel like she was “trimming away my femininity” every time she had a haircut.
The 49-year-old actress faced her fears and got a pixie cut last year, and she credits having therapy with giving her the boost she needed not to conform with society’s feminine beauty ideals.
Speaking to Allure, she said: “I would feel like I was trimming away my beauty.
“I was trimming away my femininity, and I had a real love-hate relationship with length, texture, colour, and styles.”
She added: “There is no one way to be feminine. I’m fly as f*** with short hair, long hair, [or] no hair.”
At the time, Gabrielle explained that she wanted to show that women in movies who cut their hair short aren’t in a bad spot.
She wrote: “So, I did a thing … The movies always show women cutting their hair when all is lost but I wanted to know the feeling of making a change when things are gravy. It hits different and its foreign to me but I love this new new. #SummerChop #FlawlessChop #FlawlessCut (sic)”
Meanwhile, Gabrielle previously admitted she didn’t learn to embrace her natural hair until she was in her forties and she “wasted” so much of her youth despising her tresses.
She said: “When I was younger, I hated everything about [my hair].
“I wanted it to be anything but what it was. I wasted so much of my youth in my twenties, thirties and certainly my teens wanting to be someone else. I was inundated with images and messages saying, ‘You’re just not as pretty as so-and-so.’ The images that I saw on TV and in magazines and film reaffirmed what they were saying. That I wasn’t ‘it’, and people who look like me aren’t ‘it’. You couldn’t possibly have that ‘it factor’ and have hair like mine or skin like mine.”
The ’10 Things I Hate About You’ star finally felt ready to empty her “basket of f****” and start loving herself.
She added: “In my early forties, I just emptied my basket of f**** and came out reborn and loving myself in a way that you only see on Oprah episodes when you’re like, ‘What the hell is my most authentic self? What does that even mean? I don’t even know who that girl is. I wouldn’t know her if I saw her.'”
