I remember going to all these castings and nobody would even look at my book because it was the heroin chic time and I didn’t look nothing like the heroin chic, obviously, as you can see in the picture.
“I went to do this casting for Alexander McQueen and there were girls around the block. There were like a thousand girls. It was the craziest thing.
“And he [McQueen] was just sitting on this couch and he would just go and say, walk. And he would put you in these impossible shoes.”

A lot goes into it, in addition to the two and a half hours of glam. It’s a process.”
Despite this, the ‘How to Be a Boss B****’ author is planning to keep her style “casual” while on her international book tour, forgoing the expected “live zebra on a leash or something”.
Christine – who is married to tech entrepreneur Christian Richard, 42, with whom she has 12-month old son Christian – said: “People will expect me to show up in the most glam attire with a live zebra on a leash or something, but that’s not the case. Because there’s some images of her from the seventies, some beautiful images of her in this long caftan, like posed on this chair, and her in like Halston. There’s these gorgeous images of her that I always thought were iconic style images. I read a lot about how she likes to try on different styles. What I love about her is that she always stands out. She took some really interesting fashion risks. I feel like she was constantly trying things.”

Theo James says there are ‘so many’ outfits he regrets wearing

OHMYGOSSIP — Theo James says there are “so many” outfits he regrets wearing.
‘The Time Traveller’s Wife’ star spilled about looking “like a f****** magician” on an early-career talk show appearance because he picked his own outfit despite being colour blind.
The 37-year-old actor told InStyle magazine: “So many. One of my first appearances on a, kind of, chat show thing, I didn’t know anything, and they said, “Oh, we’re going to give you a stylist.” And I thought, “What does that mean?” I thought I’d just, you know, bring some s*** suit or whatever. They brought a suit, and I’m colorblind. And she gave me this suit and it kind of looked gray and I thought, “Oh, that’s a gray suit. It’s pretty good.” Put the suit on. And then, my friends sent me a picture of me on this show and it’s like sparkly silver, and I look like a f****** magician, basically.”
Theo – who has a 9-month-old child with his wife, actress Ruth Kearney – admitted to being a fan of both Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey, along with “90s hip-hop”.
After being asked if he had a “amp up” song, he said: I don’t have an amp-up song. But I love ’90s hip-hop, as everyone does. That’s my kind of amping-up music. And then, I was talking about this the other day, do you ever have songs that are stuck in your head, kind of, your internal jukebox? I think I’ve had Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” stuck in my head for about 20 years.
Theo added: I always used to like that song “Hero’ And then a hero comes along / With the strength to carry on …’”
The ‘Divergent’ star also admitted to pretending “to not watch ‘Selling Sunset’,” – the Netflix reality series about the most glamorous side of Los Angeles real estate starring Christine Quinn and Chrishell Stause – after being questioned about his current streaming habits.

Jean Paul Gaultier doesn’t miss designing clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Jean Paul Gaultier doesn’t miss designing clothes.
The legendary couturier prefers to “do things about fashion” – such as curating exhibitions and television shows – but loves that he left making clothes behind him when he retired in January 2020.
After being asked if he missed making haute couture, the 70-year-old fashion designer told the Observer: “Oh, not at all, no! I like to do things about fashion but I don’t want to do fittings any more. So if somebody asks me to make an exhibition about a subject like denim or corsetry, I would love to do that. And that’s why I did the ‘Fashion Freak Show’, because I was getting to 50 years of fashion and I like to express myself about it.”
Jean Paul believes “there is a lot of beauty in difference” and this motivated him when casting runway shows.
He said: I wanted to show that there is a lot of beauty in difference. There is not only one type of beauty. I have always loved difference – maybe because I was different myself, in some way. So I didn’t want the models that were so professional. I prefer to see girls that I saw in a club, like for example in Le Palace [the Studio 54 of Paris], which is where the French punks went. I didn’t want Parisian chic. I wanted the opposite girl: the modern girl.”
The former ‘Eurotrash’ presenter is “very proud” to have his vintage designs featured as part of the 90s trend on the red carpet, being worn by Zendaya and Kendall Jenner.
Jean Paul said: “Very proud. It means that I didn’t make mistake! But also I didn’t make only fast fashion, fashion that only lasts one season, things that come and go. And I have pleasure to see that. Even though I don’t want to make any more collections myself, my idea to take a different designer each season [to reinterpret Jean Paul Gaultier designs] is going very well. I see even the wife of Willy Smith was wearing one of the dresses, the green dress is a Gaultier with [Y/Project’s] Glenn Martens.”

Half Magic ‘transcends’ Euphoria, says its co-founder

OHMYGOSSIP — Half Magic “transcends” Euphoria, the series that inspired its creation.
Donni Davy, the show’s head makeup artist believes the cosmetics line – is its “own entity” and hopes to continue it long after the show – which stars Zendaya, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney and Maude Apatow – ends, despite being inspired by show’s trademark beauty looks.
The 31-year-old co-founder told Allure: “The makeup transcends the show. In its own way, it became its own entity. We want to go with that and not just be an accessory to the show, because at some point the show’s gonna be over.”
Donni wanted to avoid the “instant gratification” of just collaborating with another brand to create a product inspired by the Sam Levinson-created show.
“I knew that if I was going to be involved with a brand, I’d want to be making stuff that doesn’t already exist on the market. Picking out a fun palette with Nars or Colourpop would have been super fun and quick and easy. And an instant kind of gratification — because this is not instant gratification.”
The Emmy winner wanted the line – which includes products ranging from lip kits and lots of ethereal and glittery eye products to create dramatic looks – to be able to “layer” to create creative looks.
Donni said: “Particularly with glitter, if you use a wet glitter product, it can muck up a powder eye shadow, which I’d run into a lot, then I’d be searching for long-wear liquid eye shadows, but they weren’t pigmented enough or maybe they were cream-based so they would move around. It was searching around for different products to use that would layer, the idea being that your glitter is your topper — your finishing touch — but it doesn’t ruin the makeup that you already put on.”
The move into beauty is a first for the HBO show’s production company A24.
Michelle Liu, the general manager of Half Magic told the same outlet: “Half Magic grew out of the global beauty cultural phenomenon created by Euphoria fans around the world. Creators behind the show (including Sam and Ashley Levinson, Kevin Turen, and A24) came together with Donni to continue evolving the conversation around self-exploration and self-expression. Providing fans with a brand and products to support that was a natural next step.”
