Sadie Sink will take ‘any chance to wear Chanel’

OHMYGOSSIP — Sadie Sink will take “any chance to wear Chanel”.
The ‘Stranger Things’ star – while modelling a black embellished jacket and slouchy trousers – admitted that she is a huge fan of the French couture house.
In an episode of ‘7 Days, 7 Looks’ on Vogue.com, the 20-year-old actress said of her Wednesday look: “Okay, so this is my premier red carpet look. It’s full Chanel. Any chance I get to wear Chanel, I’ll do it. I wore Chanel to my first ever premiere for season two of ‘Stranger Things’.
Sadie shared – that despite being on the Netflix series for three seasons now – she has not lost feeling “like the new kid” alongside her co-stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, David Harbour and Winona Ryder.
She continued: “I was the new kid.I had just joined the ‘Stranger Things’ cast. And I think I still do feel like the new kid, even though it’s, we just filmed, I guess, my third season, the show’s fourth season. I think I’m always gonna feel like the new kid in a way.I think I kind of gravitate towards black and white. I have worn color before, but for the major red carpets that I’ve done, it’s always been like a black or white look. The first few ones are really scary, and I think they’re still kind of nerve-wracking. You just kind of like black out for a bit and do the best that you can.”
On Monday, the ‘Glass Castle’ star showcased a more casual look and labelled her YSL blazer and Levis jeans look as “a pretty standard Sadie outfit” for going out on the town with pals.
Sadie said: “This is a dinner with friends kind of look. I’d wear this to even go see a show or something like that. It’s a pretty standard Sadie outfit, just jeans, blazer, maybe a heel, maybe a sneaker, depending on how I’m feeling and then a pop of red. So, you know, it’s a little bit more exciting. This is Saint Laurent, pretty much all Saint Laurent, and then some Levi jeans. This is very true to kind of my style. Shoulder pads are something we see a lot on Stranger Things, very trendy in the 80s. This is kind of different from other blazers that I have, just ’cause there’s more of like a shape, so it feels a little bit more dressy, and also it’s cropped too. It’s not like a, you know, one of my slouchy blazers. And the jeans fit in the hem of them too. It just hits at a really nice place that makes them feel a little bit more dressy.”

Jorja Smith says 16 Arlington designer Marco Capaldo is ‘so understanding’ of her style needs

OHMYGOSSIP — Jorja Smith thinks 16 Arlington’s Marco Capaldo is “so understanding” of her style needs.
The ‘Lavender and Rose’ hitmaker loves the way the pair of them “work together” as they teamed up to dream up a one-of-a-kind outfit for her performance at London’s legendary music venue Koko last Thursday (26.05.22).
The 24-year-old pop star told British Vogue: “Marco is so understanding and I love how we work together.
The fashion designer – who helms the brand billed as Y2K for the ‘Euphoria’ generation and worn by names such as Amal Clooney, Billie Eilish and Lena Dunham -echoed the sentiment, saying that collaborating with the ‘By Any Means’ hitmaker “always feels like home”.
He told the magazine: “It always feels like home working with Jorja. Personally and creatively, we’re at a very comfortable point. There’s a real confidence and trust.”
Marco added: “We really wanted to emphasise Jorja and make sure that she was the focus. The clothing should always be worn by the wearer and not the other way around.”
Marco admitted it was “right and meaningful” to gather inspiration from his recent spring/summer collection, the final one of his late designer partner, Frederica “Kikka” Cavenati, who passed away in November 2021, aged 28, from a “short and sudden illness”.
He said: “Kikka is still so part of the process.”
The BRIT Award winner agreed with feeling she was “there with us”.
Jorja said: “It felt like [Kikka] was there with us in every fitting. Working with Marco and 16 Arlington is a true testament to her legacy.”
Following the brand’s show in February, Marco paid tribute to partner and her impact on his life and career, calling her “the most beautiful person in my life”.
He said: “This was a celebration of the most beautiful person in my life. I just hope that I did her proud.”

Kaia Gerber wanted her look for the Elvis premiere to be ‘understated’ and ‘comfortable’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kaia Gerber wanted her look for the ‘Elvis’ premiere to be “understated” and “comfortable”.
The Vogue cover star – who was photographed kissing the leading man Austin Butler, 30, on the red carpet at the film’s debut at the Cannes Film Festival – wanted to be “very classic” in her red Celine slip dress for the new Baz Luhrmann biopic of music legend, Elvis Presley.
After being asked by “What’s on the mood board for tonight’s look”, the 20-year-old model told Interview magazine: “We just wanted it to feel very classic, like an American girl in France. It’s understated, comfortable.”
Kaia – while talking about the “beautiful” gown – praised the talents of the French fashion houses’ artistic director Hedi Slimane and how she “really trust them” to channel the simple look she was desperate to channel.
She said: “It’s a beautiful red dress that fits just perfectly. I think minimalism is the hardest thing to do because it has to fit so perfectly but I think that’s what Hedi is best at. I really trust them and they’re always open to ideas as well, we’re doing something different than I’ve ever worn which is so exciting.”
The Omega model- who is the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber – detailed how she wanted to show off “the wonderful work they did on the dress” by tossing her hair up.
Kaia said: This dress has a beautiful neckline so we wanted to put my hair up so everyone can see the wonderful work that they did on the dress, and then it’s just a sun-kissed, natural look, almost like I came straight from the pool to the premiere. Although there’s obviously a lot more effort that goes into that. [Laughs] But we wanted it to appear light.
The ‘American Horror Story’ star urged the importance of cranking the tunes up to “keep the energy up” while getting ready.
Kaia said: “I am a music person, especially when I get off a 12-hour flight, I need it to keep the energy up. It’s always a stressful thing to try on a dress on the day you’re supposed to wear it, but they never seem stressed out about it. [Laughs] That just made me feel a bit better. Everyone was just like, yup, we can do it.”

Patrick Ta never intended to become a celebrity makeup artist

OHMYGOSSIP — Patrick Ta never intended to become a celebrity makeup artist.
The 30-year-old stylist opened a nail salon in Arizona as a teenager but when he was forced to file for bankruptcy, moved to L.A to try a new career and now has a client list that boasts the likes of Katy Perry, Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner.
He said: “With my salon closing and having to file bankruptcy at the age of 21, it was such a big disappointment for myself and my parents. When I moved to L.A., I knew I couldn’t disappoint them or myself again. I definitely didn’t come to L.A. to become a celebrity makeup artist. I didn’t even know that makeup could be a full-time career. I was making a decent amount of money, but I got thrown into this world of social media and working with celebrities. I started to realize I could do something with this and saw it as the perfect career choice. I went to work every day, and it didn’t feel like work. When you love something, I feel like it makes everything better.”
Patrick – who went on to launch his own beauty brand in 2019 – explained that he was scouted on social media by stars such as pop singer Ariana Grande and reality TV royalty the Kardashians and adjusted his style accordingly.
He told Byrdie: “Because of social media, I met most of my clients. Shay Mitchell, Kim Kardashian, and Ariana Grande found me on social media. It was a huge platform for me as someone who wasn’t represented by an agency. Social media was my portfolio. I was particular about what I was posting and the style of makeup I was doing. When I wanted to work with the Kardashians, I did super glam makeup. When I wanted to work with models, I showcased more toned-down looks. ”

Meg Stalter: It took me a while to find my style

OHMYGOSSIP — Meg Stalter has said it took her a “while” to find a sense of style.
The 32-year-old comedienne – who is known for her role as airhead PA Kayla on sitcom ‘Hacks’ – explained that while she always interested in the idea of fashion and beauty, she had to learn to “love” her own body before being able to explore style for herself.
She said: “It took me a little while to find my style. I’ve always been really into fashion and makeup and hair, but I don’t think I really found my sense of style until I fell in love with myself and went, ‘Oh, I could do whatever I want and wear what I want to!'”
Meg – who is also known for her viral comedy videos – added that learning how to become a character has also helped her when it comes to finding her own style.
She told Vogue: “Getting excited about dressing a character, even if it’s for like a three-minute video online, has encouraged me that I can wear whatever I want in real life, too. When you dress like characters, I feel like it does encourage you because it’s like, ‘Who do I feel like I am today?’
” Because we’re so many different things. I used to think I needed to pick one thing like, ‘Oh I’m, ’70s girl,’ but it’s like, we’re not just one thing. Characters are all part of us or people we know, at least.”
The ‘Tooning on the News’ star embraces “big ” and when it comes to hair and make-up and has “always loved” style icons such as Dolly Parton and Cher.
She added: “I’ve always loved big hair and big makeup, like Dolly Parton. Anytime someone does my hair and they ask me what I want to look like, I’m like Brigitte Bardot, like that big hair! I love a glam moment! I love Cher! I love a Las Vegas lady! I love the glamour and glitz of it all.

Speaking on her Instagram Stories, she added: “A lot of y’all be getting razor bumps [or] ingrown hairs, [and] we get a little dark down there or in our underarms!”

The 39-year-old actress made her first red carpet appearance at the prestigious film festival back in May 2022 and now her long-time stylist Erin Walsh – who has worked with her for much of her career – has explained the intention behind the custom white Armani Privé gown she wore to the screening of ‘Armageddon Time’.

Georgia Toffolo: There is a place for fast fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia Toffolo thinks that there is “a place” for fast fashion.
The 27-year-old reality star – who shot to fame on ‘Made in Chelsea’ back in 2014 – acknowledged that while clothing that is mass-produced at low-cost can be “ghastly” for the environment, not everyone can afford a luxurious alternative.
She said: “The word fast fashion is seen to be a very dirty term. However, not everyone can afford to go and spend £100 on a top. Or they don’t have the time to go and sift through the bargain bucket at the charity shop, like lots of fashionistas who do have the time do. So I do think that as ghastly as fast fashion can be for our environment, I’m a strong believer that there is a place for it with certain people. I think we can be quite snobby about the way that people dress but not everyone has that luxury.”
Meanwhile, the ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’ winner – who is also known by her nickname of Toff – revealed that when it comes to her own fashion, she hopes to be following the same sort of style for the next ten years at least but that dressing elegantly is always “important.”
She told HELLO!: “I’ve always said that I hope to be wearing similar clothes in ten years, 20 years… maybe after 20 years I’d have a bit of a rethink. But I think that dressing classically and elegantly is important. For party dressing, I think you’ve got to know your own shape. Look in the mirror and see what makes you happy. Buy a few key pieces that suit you well. And then the trend-driven things, buy cheap and donate them or sell them afterwards. That’s what I do.”

Rochelle Humes prefers an ‘understated’ look for date nights with Marvin

OHMYGOSSIP — Rochelle Humes always goes for an “understated” make-up look on date nights with husband Marvin Humes to feel like herself.
The former Saturdays singer – who has kids Alaia-Mai, nine, Valentina, five, and Blake, 19 months, with the 37-year-old JLS star – opts for a natural look and likes to make the most effort with her outfit and hair on nights out with her other half.
She told OK! Magazine: “I always go understated on the make-up because otherwise, it doesn’t feel like me.
“So it’s more that I’ll tong my hair nicely, or I’ll wear something special.
“Does Marvin notice? Yes! He does, he always tells me I look lovely.
“I’m that person who says, ‘What, this old thing?’ and he’ll say, ‘Oh just take the compliment!'”
The 33-year-old singer admits she thinks she looks better now than she did during her stint in The Saturdays, and her eldest daughter agrees.
She said: “When we were in The Saturdays we wore a lot of make-up.
“I mean, it was done well, it was just full-on.
“I was looking at girl band pictures with Alaia the other day and she said, ‘Mummy, you look older there than you do now.’
“Actually, it was a fair point.”
Asked if she thinks she looks better now, Rochelle added: “I know what works for me now.
“So, yes, I do think I do. As you get older, you know your face and your hair so well.
“You know what you’re doing.”
In fact, the mother-of-three has never felt more “comfortable” in her skin.
She said: “I know myself, and I think there’s a lot to be said for that.
“It is empowering. I know what I like now and what I want to do – and what I don’t.
“In my twenties I spent a lot of time being a bit of a yes woman, worrying about pleasing everybody else.
“Now I’m in my thirties, I feel I can say no.
“I’m comfortable with that in a way I wasn’t before.”

Laverne Cox becomes first transgender Barbie doll

OHMYGOSSIP — Laverne Cox has made history as the first transgender woman to be immortalised as a Barbie doll.
The 49-year-old actress – who was born as a male called Roderick before starting the sex reassignment process in her 20s – has been honoured by the Mattel company and released as a collectible edition of their signature fashion doll.
In a statement, she said: “I can’t believe it. I love her outfit! What excites me most about her being out in the world is that trans young people can see her and maybe get to purchase her and play with her, and know that there’s a Barbie made by Mattel, for the first time, in the likeness of a trans person.”
The former ‘Orange is the New Black’ star went on to explain that she worked with designers of the toy and asked them specifically to make the doll look more like herself, as opposed to the classic Barbie image.
She added: ” I was very involved but I was like, ‘Can we make her look more like me? And more African Americans? And we had a conversation about highlights and lowlights because I’m blonde most of the time now, but I’m a black girl, so I need a dark root. And we had a whole conversation about how they can’t do that, but they could do dark low lights.”
Barbie was first launched in 1959 by Ruth Handler and has gone on to sell more than one billion dolls worldwide, but in recent years, the Mattel company has diversified the range to include dolls that vary in skin tone and size.
Laverne’s Barbie doll – which has been released in honour of her upcoming 50th birthday and launched at a Barbie-themed batch – joins legendary sitcom actress Lucille Ball and iconic fashion designer Vera Wang as part of the Barbie Tribute Collection, which is said to “celebrate visionaries whose incredible contributions have helped shape and impact culture.”

Dolce and Gabbana ‘made millions’ from Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding to Travis Barker

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolce and Gabbana reportedly made millions from being associated with Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s lavish wedding in Italy.
Bosses at the fashion brand denied suggestions they had sponsored the nuptials which took place in the Italian coastal resort of Portofino on Sunday (22.05.22) but they were heavily involved in many aspects of the ceremony.
The wedding took place at a home on the Portofino estate owned by D and G, the firm designed the bride and groom’s outfits and they even produced the bridesmaids’ dresses.
Guests heading to the wedding rode on boats with interiors decked out in the brand’s signature motifs, family members including Khloe Kardashian name-checked the brand on Instagram, while a pop-up shop appeared in the town selling D and G goods.
Now brand performance firm Launchmetrics has predicted the venture generated more than $25 million in media impact value for Dolce and Gabbana.
Launchmetrics CMO Alison Bringé told New York Post gossip column PageSix: “Media impact value is how we assign a monetary value to brand performance. It calculates the value of every post, every interaction, every article …
“It’s a crazy amount of media impact value for the first 24 (or so) hours.”
The impact is said to mainly come from social media as the Kardashian family has so much influence online, but it has also come from press coverage and more could be generated if the wedding features on the clan’s latest reality TV show.
A representative for D and G told PageSix the wedding was not a sponsored event, adding: “The designers were happy to host this very special occasion.”
