Kyle Richards loves cheap mascara

OHMYGOSSIP — Kyle Richards thinks “cheap” mascaras are “the best ones”.
The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star favours a “buildable” product and tries to avoid waterproof mascaras because she doesn’t think they are very good for her lashes, and though it’s an item she’s happy to scrimp on, she warned she wouldn’t do the same with foundation.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I love the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara. It has a curved wand which is great. I never use waterproof mascara as you can’t get it off, and it’s bad for your lashes. That’s the best one, as it’s buildable.
“What I’ve learned is, the cheaper mascaraas are the best ones. That’s not the case with foundation, but definitely with mascara.”
The 53-year-old star – who doesn’t work with a stylist – thinks she “does better” with her wardrobe when she’s travelling for work than when she’s just at home day-to-day.
She said: “When I go on trips I feel like I do better. So when I’m away with the show on a trip, I’m like, ‘OK – this is our itinerary’, so I do my best, so I can really think something out. Plus, my husband isn’t with me, so he’s not judging me on how much luggage I’m bringing!”
When it comes to her own style icons, Kyle opted for two women who have very different wardrobes.
She said: “I love JLo, I love her style, but I also love Jennifer Aniston and she’s more classic and simple. They are completely opposite, but I love them both.”
And the brunette beauty thinks the late Princess Diana was an “iconic” fashion figure.
She said: “I mean, I have to go with Diana. Of course I think that Kate Middleton dresses beautifully, but I just feel Diana had so many iconic moments.
“For me as a little girl, I lived in London for a while when I was doing a movie, and I think she and Charles were dating at the time and I can remember so many of her outfits! The ‘revenge dress’ and then her cycling shorts with the socks, and her dress that blew up at the sports day, I just loved her.”

Dame Helen Mirren’s thorough skincare regime

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren “always” goes beyond her neck with her skincare routine.
The 76-year-old actress rarely wears low-cut outfits these days but on the occasions she does, she’s confident any exposed skin is in good condition thanks to her regular regime.
Referring to the blue velvet Elie Saab gown she wore to the Cannes Film Festival in 2018, she said: “With this blue gown at Cannes in 2018, I had decided I’d had enough of frills and sequins and I didn’t want to sparkle that year – I just wanted something sculptured and tailored, and I loved the slightly medieval feel of the dress.
“It was low-cut, so my make-up artist took my make-up down to my neck.
“I always take my skincare right down to my décolletage, even though I don’t tend to go so low-cut any more.”
The ‘Red’ actress never takes too long choosing her outfit for a big event because she doesn’t like to “fuss around”.
She told Telegraph magazine: “When it comes to the outfit I choose for an event, I’m really quick. I work with either a stylist or a fashion designer and see what they’ve got and what they can lend me. And I can see what will work immediately. I won’t fuss around. ”
Helen is never fussy about her make-up look either because she puts her trust in the “amazing” make-up artists who help to get her ready for the red carpet.
She said: “I’m very free with my make-up – I get to work with amazing make-up artists, so I just let them do whatever inspires them.
“For this L’Oréal Paris runway show last year, which was right in front of the Eiffel Tower, the make-up artist Val Garland just said, ‘I feel like doing something really, really extreme.’
“The reaction from people to the thick, heavy eyeliner was a mixture of amazement and a tinge of horror, which is a good reaction as far as I’m concerned. I thought it was so fun! And of course I had an amazing outfit on, so the whole thing worked. The whole look was very bada**.”

Camila Cabello’s beauty secret is sleep

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello’s best beauty tips are to avoid stress and get enough sleep.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker believes what is impacting on her mental and emotional health will have a physical impact on her and she thinks it shows on her face if she’s failed to get enough rest.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK’s YouTube channel about her beauty secrets, she said: “As little stress as possible…I mean, I’m not saying I’m like the least stressed person ever…but I do try to take care of my mental and emotional health.
“I just know that anxiety and sadness is not great for anything. And also sleep. I’m not amazing at any of these things, but I’ve definitely noticed in my life that when I don’t get a lot of sleep or I’m really anxious, you can really see it in my face.”
One way that Camilla has eased the stress in her life is to take on board a valuable piece of advice not to expect to figure “everything” out instantly.
Asked the best piece of advice she’s been given, she said: “You don’t have to have everything figured out today. I really like that. Because sometimes the way my brain works sometimes, you want the advice that’s going to make everything better and feel like an organised desk…I think that really soothes me, when people are like, ‘You don’t have to have it figured out today.’”
Last September, the 25-year-old singer attended the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in a stunning pink and red satin gown with massive bow detail and she admitted it was her favourite ever red carpet look.
She said: “I’m just going to think of the first thing that popped up in my mind – the VMAs [September 2021] when we sang ‘Don’t Go Yet’. It was like a pink thing and the make-up was really cool – it was like circles…That was like my favourite red carpet outfit that I can remember.”

FKA Twigs shares ‘vigorous’ beauty regime using ‘healing’ products

OHMYGOSSIP — FKA Twigs has shared her beauty secrets and admitted she has a “vigorous” routine using “healing” products as part of a self-care ritual.
The 34-year-old singer admits she’s more concerned with wellness rather than looking good as she’s convinced how you feel is more important – so she tries to make time to take care of herself.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “I express myself through ritual; for me it’s not really about the end result, it’s knowing that every single day I’m doing something to take care of myself.”
Twigs went on to reveal she uses Amala Pro Retinoic Treatment Oil which is packed full of 23K Gold as well as plant seeds and oils and retails at around £195.
She said of her beauty must-have: “(It) makes your skin really tight … gets rid of any sunspots and makes a very smooth complexion.”
Twigs also uses the £515 FaceGym Pro which is described as “a non-invasive facial device that uses electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen, tone and sculpt the face”.
She said of the gadget: “It basically lifts your face an inch … it’s like a mini facelift.”
The singer concluded by insisting she now has a much healthier approach to looking after herself, adding: “I used to be really hard on myself to be perfect, or have perfect skin or perfect hair, or be a certain weight. I don’t feel like that anymore … (self-care) alleviates a lot of the pressure of the usual beauty standards that I think we can all fall in a trap with”.

Idris Elba launches genderless skincare range with wife Sabrina

OHMYGOSSIP — Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina have teamed up to launch a genderless skincare range.
The actor’s partner has revealed the idea for the couple’s wellness brand S’Able Labs – which is Elbas spelled backwards – came about after they had a conversation about cosmetics in which ‘The Wire’ star admitted he felt he couldn’t use products which are aimed at women.
In an interview with Vogue, Sabrina explained they decided to create a brand which includes all genders and ethnicities, saying: “We realised quickly that there was no one doing it in the wellness space that looked like, spoke like or felt like us – there was no representation for people of colour who wanted to be into wellness and fit in. Plus everything was gender-focused – I’d have conversations with my husband on products he didn’t think he could use (because they were aimed at women), but could.”
They went on to create S’Able Labs which Sabrina describes as an “affordable but luxury” brand which aims to promote self-care for everyone.
She went on: “When you are happier, doing good just comes naturally. That’s why self-care is such an important thing in partnerships and relationships – when you’re feeling really good about yourself, you’re able to share that with other people and it’s infectious.”
Sabrina added of her business partnership with her husband: “It’s definitely had its hardships – we’d be completely lying if we didn’t admit that off the bat. But at the same time, it’s brought us so much closer together … And Idris is really new to the skincare journey – so it’s great to be able to share amazing skincare with him – he finally gets it!”
The products include the Qasil Cleanser which retails for £28, Black Seed Toner which sells for £35 and the Baobab Moisturiser which has a £50 price tag.

Jennifer Lopez says sleep is ultimate beauty secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez has declared getting a good night’s sleep is her ultimate beauty secret.
The 52-year-old actress and singer is adamant a minimum of seven hours shut-eye is more effective than any expensive moisturiser and it’s a key part of her beauty regime – which she describes as the 5 Ss: sunscreen, serum, supplements, sano (living well) and sleep.
In the latest edition of her ‘On The JLo’ newsletter, Jennifer explained: ” We don’t value sleep. We value grinding and working hard – and admittedly, nobody gets caught up in that rat race more than me. I’ve found however, that sleep to me is the most underrated beauty secret out there. It’s one of the tenets of JLo Beauty and part of my 5 S’s: Sunscreen, Serum, Supplements, (vivir) Sano and SLEEP!
“Getting at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night can be a game changer.”
She went on to reveal she went through a stage in her 20s when her career was taking off and she was sleeping for less than five hours a night.
The ‘On The 6’ star confessed exhaustion led to crippling panic attacks and she resolved to start living a healthier lifestyle by embracing wellness.
Jennifer added: “Since then, I’ve tried to live a very healthy and balanced life. As I slept more and took care of myself, I realised it was about pro-living versus anti-aging … I think of sleep like a little time machine. You lay down and you go into a space where you preserve yourself and then you come out a new, younger person than you were before.”
Jennifer concluded by insisting she often looks 10 years younger after getting a really good night’s sleep.
She went on: “Sometimes I wake up and say, ‘Wow! I just lost 10 years off my face!’ That’s what a good night’s sleep can do for you, and it accumulates over time. For better or for worse, the pandemic slowed us all down, and it definitely slowed me down and made me realise that all we have control of is ourselves. So get your sleep!”

Kelly Brook’s love – hate relationship with her breasts

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Brook wishes she had “little pert French boobies”.
The 42-year-old model and actress admitted her size 34FF chest can be an “inconvenience” and she has a “love/hate” relationship with her breasts.
Kelly told MailOnline: “I love my boobs, but I also don’t like them. I have a love/hate relationship with all parts of my body.
“My boobs look great in some dresses and in other dresses they don’t look so great. They can be really inconvenient.
“Boobs are one of those things… I would love to wear little strappy dresses. Some of the underwear I buy is really frumpy!
“I would love to have little pert French boobies. Mine look good in a lovely 1950s dress though, so it just depends.”
Kelly – who lost two stone on the SlimFast 3.2.1. Plan – after piling on weight during lockdown, admitted she struggles to accept her body.
She said: “I lost two dress sizes, I was on track, lockdown came and being an emotional eater, I was like well that’s it then… no one is going to be worrying about their bodies anymore, we’re all in elasticated trousers and people were Zooming everyone so no one even sees us anymore.
“I fell into that trap of being lazy. When we came out of lockdown, I panicked and thought I’ve got to get back in the office and people are going to see me again. It was a case of starting off really well, having a bit of a wobble, and getting back to train and feeling a bit healthier again.
“I have times where I feel amazing and times when I don’t. I’m at the age where hormones play a big part in my body and my mood and how I feel about myself. On the whole, I try and be happy and healthy and make sensible choices.”

Dame Helen Mirren always wears make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren always wears make-up.
The 76-year-old actress admitted she never goes bare-faced, even at home, as it makes her feel better to have some make-up on.
She told The Mail On Sunday’s You magazine: “In days of COVID I put make-up on every day even though it was just me and my husband and he didn’t care about it. He absolutely didn’t care. But I did it for myself. So when I happened to be walking past a mirror I thought: ‘Oh yeah, you look OK.’ I’m not a big one for a lot of foundation but mascara and lipstick are great.
“I love make-up and I’m probably at my happiest sitting putting it on. But one of my rules is: put it on, then take half of it off.
“A good tip I was given is to open your refrigerator and pop your face in for 30 seconds after doing your make-up – to cool and set it.
“I do love a suntan. My excuse is I’ve got to get my vitamin D. I try to be more careful now, because as you get older you start to see the effects, and you say: ‘I see, that’s what they were talking about.”
And Helen also likes to do her own nails at home.
She said: “I do my nails at home. I go to nail bars occasionally, but I don’t like them – I am always suspicious that girls are trafficked and it makes me feel uncomfortable. When I go to the Cannes Film Festival we have a fantastic manicurist.”

Regé-Jean Page supports Florence Pugh after bodyshaming

OHMYGOSSIP — Regé-Jean Page is supporting Florence Pugh after she was bodyshamed.
After Florence blasted “vulgar” men for trying to “destroy” her body image with negative comments because she wore a hot pink see-through Valentino Haute Couture gown to the Italian fashion house’s Autumn/Winter 2022 show in Rome last week, Page took to Instagram to defend the actress.
Resharing Pugh’s message alongside a clapping emoji, Page, 34, wrote. “When the boys are out of line, have a word.
“Take a look at yourself fellas. Then take a look at your mates and step up when it’s time to step up.
“The weird thing about misogyny is men actually listen to other men, so do your bit, cos the next few years in particular are gonna be a really good time to listen, and take some responsibility, for everyone’s sake.”
In her original Instagram message, Florence, 24, called it “interesting” to see men on the internet take such joy in slagging off her body publicly.
She wrote: “What’s been interesting to watch and witness is just how easy it is for men to totally destroy a woman’s body, publicly, proudly, for everyone to see. It isn’t the first time and certainly won’t be the last time a woman will hear what’s wrong with her body by a crowd of strangers, what’s worrying is just how vulgar some of you men can be.”
The ‘Little Women’ star has “come to terms with the intricacies of” of her body and has learnt to “accept” the imperfections others highlighted so doesn’t care about being “so ‘flat chested'”.
Florence went on: “So many of you wanted to aggressively let me know how disappointed you were by my ‘tiny t***’, or how I should be embarrassed by being so ‘flat chested’. I’ve lived in my body for a long time. I’m fully aware of my breast size and am not scared of it.
“We were raised to find power in the creases of our body, to be loud about being comfortable. It has always been my mission in this industry to say ‘f*** it and f*** that’ whenever anyone expects my body to morph into an opinion of what’s hot or sexually attractive.”

Precious Lee wants to inspire women of all sizes to experiment with style

OHMYGOSSIP — Precious Lee wants to inspire women of all sizes to experiment with their style.
The trailblazing cover girl – who was the first Black plus-sized model to grace the pages of Elle and Vogue – does not think that size should prevent anyone from enjoying fashion and she wants to make it as inclusive as possible.
She told Net-A-Porter’s Porter magazine: “It feels good to set your own trends. I hope I inspire women of all sizes to embrace their individuality in their style and wear what feels good. And to know what does, you have to experiment, but so many people get stopped by whatever societal limitation. I love the fact that the system is being demolished.”
Precious, 32, loves taking fashion risks and insists she would hate to be predictable.
She said: “I’ve always given myself permission to explore styles and figure out what I like. My individuality is one of my superpowers; I don’t want to look like everyone else. I make my own choices and I feel most inspired by designers who create from a space of freedom. I can appreciate classic looks, but I always give a twist; I won’t do predictable.”
And she wants to encourage everyone to be “free” and wear whatever they want.
Precious said: “You never need a reason to ‘dress up’ or wear something bold. We all learned that life is 100 per cent too short for that. Wear what makes you feel vibrant and free, whenever you want.
“My style mantra for the season is me asking myself the question: ‘Do you feel free in this?’ If not, next ”

Kyle Richards has never had a stylist

OHMYGOSSIP — Kyle Richards has never had a stylist.
The 53-year-old reality star – who has been a regular cast member on ‘ The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ since 2010 – admitted that while she is filming, she likes to be “well put together” but does not travel with a “glam squad” and likes to choose her style herself.
She said: “I’m sure people are like, ‘Yeah you can tell!’ but no, never had one. I don’t travel with a glam squad either. When I’m working, I like to be well put together, I like colour. I go with my mood. Some days I want to be conservative, some days more edgy.”
The former soap actress – who is the sister of fellow ‘RHOBH’ star Kathy Hilton and aunt to heiress Paris Hilton – added that when it comes to style, she particularly admires the likes of pop star Jennifer Lopez and ‘Friends’ actress Jennifer Aniston, but her ultimate fashion idol is the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
She told Hello Magazine: “I love JLo, I love her style, but I also love Jennifer Aniston and she’s more classic and simple. They are completely opposite, but I love them both. But I have to go with Diana. Of course I think that Kate Middleton [Duchess of Cambridge] dresses beautifully, but I just feel Diana had so many iconic moments. For me as a little girl, I lived in London for a while when I was doing a movie, and I think she and Charles were dating at the time and I can remember so many of her outfits! Bobby Kolade: Ugandan fashion has been taken over by Western styles

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobby Kolade thinks that tradition Ugandan fashion has been “taken over” by Western styles.
The fashion designer – who hails from Sudan – is urging others to get on board with the idea of second-hand clothing but admits that the clothes he receives are often unsuitable for the heat in his home country.
He said: “Choosing to wear second hand clothes means a lot of choice and it’s affordable, but culturally it’s a problem. Is there anything left that’s Ugandan? [The country has] been overtaken by Western styles. I open a bale of clothes and all the armpits on the white shirts are stained with sweat. Many people in the Global North assume there are poor Africans running around naked and in need of these clothes. That idea has to change.”
Bobby – who studied graphic design in Berlin before going on to found his now-defunct self-titled fashion label – went on to add that the market of fashion is “big business” and advised that “people who make a lot of money” from clothing companies “seek therapy” and ask who they really are benefiting in the process.
He told RedBull.com: “This is a huge business, and there are people making a lot of money. In an ideal world, the CEOs of [fashion retail] companies would seek therapy and ask themselves, “Is what we’re doing beneficial only to the Global North?” Then we’d be talking about colonialist consumption patterns – that people in wealthier countries can only buy cheap clothing because they’re exploiting people at the production and disposal ends.

Demi Moore happy for her daughters to ‘liberate’ her old clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore is happy for her daughters to “liberate” her old clothes.
The ‘Ghost’ actress – who has Rumer, 33, Scout, 30, and Tallulah, 30, from her marriage to Bruce Willis – finds her kids are always “dipping in and out” of her closet but she doesn’t mind because they will ultimately inherit the garments anyway.
She told People magazine: “I saw my youngest daughter [Tallulah] wearing this vintage Japanese kind of silk robe out, of course, doing it as street wear. And I looked at it and I said, ‘Is that from my storage?’ And she said, ‘Yes, I liberated it. I liberated it from your storage.’
“At the end it’s going to all go to them anyway, so why not let them dip in? And usually what is more of a joy for me is the fact that amongst the thousands of pieces of vintage clothing I have, that I could spot that [robe] probably not having seen it in who knows how long and remember it. That’s what’s crazy. I know that piece and love seeing it again.”
Demi has teamed up with Andie for a swimwear collection and she turned to her daughters for advice on the design so she wasn’t only creating pieces to suit her own tastes.
She explained: “They’re such inspirations and bring me a different perspective than just my own. Particularly with the bikini bottoms.
“I tend to have a preference for a much more ’70s cut — I like to wear my bottoms very more low cut, and all of my daughters much prefer a very high cut, ’90s. And I wanted to make sure that just because that isn’t my preference, that I didn’t exclude that. We tried to create a bottom that could be worn both ways.”
The 59-year-old actress hopes the collection will help women feel “desirable”.
She said: “For me, a big part about what was inspiring about this Andie collection was thinking about the things that women feel sensitive about, whether it’s their tummy or other areas of the body.
“They don’t want to look matronly or not feel sexy or desirable. That was really something in my own mind, which is changing this idea that we become less desirable as we get older.”

Winona Ryder gave ‘personal jeans’ to Stranger Things

OHMYGOSSIP — Winona Ryder donated her “personal jeans” from the 1980s to the l atest season of ‘Stranger Things’.
Costume designer Amy Parris wanted to make everything in the show as “authentic” as possible and was delighted when the 50-year-old actress was able to get her hands on clothes she’d worn during the era that the Netflix series is set.
She said: “The show is all about being authentic.
“We even used Winona own personal ’80s jeans from her parents’ closet! They were already the perfect amount of distressed and worn-in.
“We avoid using anything new or contemporary unless it’s absolutely necessary to have multiples and if we don’t have time to make it ourselves…about 90 per cent of the show is vintage or built from scratch.”
Amy and her team also studied “real kids” from various school yearbooks of the era when it came to putting together looks for the Hawkins High and Lenora Hills High School students.
She told Australia’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “We looked at real kids from the time period. I spent lots of time on Classmates.com, which has assorted yearbooks, gathering images of real students in different parts of the country. I also found lots of D D club group photos which lent lots of inspiration for the Hellfire Club. Eddie’s outfit was inspired by dudes who listened to wizard metal like Dio and King Diamond.
“Hawkins would have been almost a decade behind in fashion, seeing as there was limited connection to current fashion pre-internet, so we edged closer to the earlier ’80s.”
The style expert urged anyone inspired by the wardrobes on the show to shop vintage.
She said: “It’s more sustainable for the environment and way more unique for your closet.
“As you start to find vendors that have clothing you like, save their online stores and check back often to see what treasures they have found and put on sale.”
