Al Pacino reveals ‘terrible’ struggle with alcoholism

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino had a “terrible” struggle with alcoholism.
‘The Godfather’ actor, 84, turned to the bottle to cope with the glare of global fame, but has been sober for decades after kicking the habit in 1977 after he began experiencing frightening blackouts following his booze binges.
He has now told CBS News: “Alcohol is a depressant – like, literally it brings you down.
“(My drinking) got a little worse for a while. It really was terrible. But then, eventually, thank God, it got there.”
Al has spent the decades since kicking drink immersing himself in his work – and said he is now busier than ever despite his age.
He added: “I like sitting on the couch. But I keep working. I’ve got six films. Smaller roles, of course. And they haven’t come out yet.”
Despite the actor being a Hollywood icon, he said he feels alienated by Tinseltown.
He said: about not being an “LA guy”: “No. I don’t think so. I still speak English. In LA, they speak Hollywood!”
Al also said finding fame in movies meant nothing to him compared to his love for theatre.
He added about his feeling of a massive high from treading the boards on Broadway: “I’m never gonna do anything else but this. I have found it. I don’t care what happens to me, whether I succeed, not succeed – didn’t matter. I had this.”
Al says in his upcoming memoir ‘Sonny Boy’ about how his love for the theatre overshadowed money: “Maybe I’ll be able to eat or I won’t eat. Maybe I’ll have money or I won’t have money. Maybe I’ll become famous. Maybe I won’t. Doesn’t matter.”
The actor added to CBS about his time in the theatre – which led to him being spotted by ‘The Godfather’ director Francis Ford Coppola and cast in the film: “Didn’t matter. That’s the freedom. This was where I belonged.”

Alongside the screenshot, she quipped: “Hope everyone’s having a great night.”
The ‘Newsroom’ actress had her newborn via surrogate and admitted not being able to carry her little girl left her with “so many profound emotions”.

“Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for nine months and made our dreams come true.
“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded.”

Demi Lovato’s fiancé Jutes ‘almost broke down crying’ during romantic musical proposal

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter penned a proposal song to ask for the 32-year-old singer’s hand in marriage and recalled how nerve-wracking it was getting it right on the big day, as he is not a seasoned guitar player.
Appearing on ‘The Viall Files’ podcast, he shared: “I wrote a song.
“I’m not a guitar player, but I can kind of play some chords. So it took me like, a week, just to write the chords for this song. And then I wrote a song, and then I practiced it.
He added: “Again, I’m not a guitar player, so rehearsing this song ends in ‘Will you marry me?’ was really difficult.
“I would mess up like three out of four times, so I was like when it comes time to do this like I just got to get lucky and just nail it.”
Jutes continued: “I definitely almost broke down crying a few times.”
The musician wanted to make sure Demi wasn’t expecting anything so made sure she was kept busy.
He said: “I knew that she wasn’t expecting it when I did it and that’s why I did it then … I wanted to catch her off guard.
“I mean, obviously, we had mentioned like you know wanting to be married and stuff like that.”
The ‘Cool for the Summer’ singer started planning her nuptials just weeks after the proposal in December to minimise the stress of the big day.
During a recent appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Demi explained: “We have been planning the wedding for quite some time now. We got engaged in December and met with a wedding planner, like, a month later … [I] wanted to be ahead of it”.
When asked if she would be performing at the wedding, Demi replied: “I am not” before adding that they want the big day to be as stress-free as possible.
She added: “I want this to feel not anything like work”.

Demi insisted she is committed to “being able to share with whatever we have, for however long we have it”.

The 27-year-old singer is currently on the road with her ‘Casa Gomez: Otro Capítulo Tour’ and often feels that as the oldest of four siblings, she should be the most “adult” but does struggle when she is away from home.
She told USA Today: “Being Mexicana, I’m a big family person. I get homesick very easily. I’ve been doing this since I was very, very young. I’m the oldest of four kids, and I know I should be this grown adult who’s independent and doesn’t need anybody, but it gets lonely.”
But the ‘MAMIII’ hitmaker does have family support in the form of her cousin Freddy Quintana – who is also known as Awsumo – with her on the road because he works as a DJ and appears as the support act on her shows.

Becky – who first found fame when she began posting covers of popular songs onto YouTube in 2011 and has since released four Spanish-language albums – also revealed that she often craves spicy food before a show, but that is just not practical, so she often opts for some Mexican shell soup once she has come off stage.
She said: “I get a little sad ’cause I can’t have a lot of spicy food before a show, so sometimes what I’ll have after shows is sopita in a vaso (cup) with Tapatío and a lot of lemon, which is also really yummy. Especially when you’re on a tour bus and don’t got a lot of options!”

Julia Fox was ’embarrassed’ at how little her parents knew about her during her teen years

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Fox was “so embarrassed” at how little her parents knew about her as a teenager.
The 34-year-old model ran away from home when she was a teenager and was horrified to find that her parents had provided the wrong date of birth, height and weight on the missing leaflets they had printed but now “laughs” at the whole incident.
She told The Times’ Saturday magazine: “It was so embarrassing how little they knew about me. It made me feel I’d done the right thing running away. I was so angry, thinking, ‘What is wrong with me?’ But now I think it’s funny. It’s like actually, what the f*** was wrong with my parents? Life really sucks but I’m always laughing.”
The ‘Uncut Gems’ actress found international fame when she briefly dated Kanye West in the wake of his divorce from Kim Kardashian in early 2022, but revealed that the first time she was referred to as an “It girl” was almost a decade before that.
She said: “The first time I heard that in reference to me was around 2014 — a long time ago. Even though I wasn’t mainstream famous, I was always really famous in New York. Everybody knew me because I was rowdy and crazy. A lot of lore surrounded me.”
Julia – who has Valentino, three, with her ex-husband Peter Artemiev – also noted that whenever strangers met her back then, she would receive something of a “backhanded” compliment as they remarked that she was “nothing” like they assumed but in fact is more “comfortable” being herself anyway.
She said: “When people met me they always did this backhanded, ‘You’re nothing like we thought.’ But I’m much more comfortable being an anti It girl. I’m an artist. I’m a mother, a sister, friend, writer, muse, actress — it varies day to day. But ultimately, I’m just a freak.”

He told host Ania Hammar during SiriusXM’s ‘The Highway’ show: “Oh goodness. I don’t fully remember my first real meeting because I was court-ordered at like 14 so I don’t remember it as much as I should.
“But, I definitely remember the first time that I found solace in those rooms, or the first time that I kind of got introduced to the concept of this. And how much stuff I’ve taken from them rooms.”
He also revealed that he has “never been more inspired than leaving an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting or a Narcotics Anonymous meeting”.
He went on: “I think everybody should experience one if you’ve never drank in your life. I still think that there is something from it that is, you know, the good ones are like good theatre. They’ll make you listen, you’ll learn, you’ll laugh and you’ll cry.”
The musician also revealed that he has changed how he approaches the release of music and only wants to share songs “that have a purpose”.
He said: “I’m looking for songs that have a purpose. When I go to put out a song under the name Jelly Roll, I think to myself, Why?

The 77-year-old musician spoke about life and death in his upcoming documentary ‘Elton John: Never Too Late’ and revealed he thinks about his own mortality now more than ever.
According to The Mirror, in one scene from the doc, Elton says: “I wonder what is going to happen to all of my stuff when I finish? This is the latter time of my life. I don’t know how much time I have left.
“You think about that more when you get to my age. You think about life and death. You think, ‘Well I just want to be where I want to be now’.
“I don’t have to work after this. I will work and do records and putting radio shows together but travelling does take so much out of you.
“It is very tiring. I am used to it. I am a veteran at it but this is where you start to think about mortality.”
The new Disney+ documentary is a look back at Elton’s career in the entertainment industry and contains never-before-seen footage of his handwritten diaries, audio tapes from some famous interviews and John Lennon joining him on stage for Thanksgiving 1974 in Madison Square Garden.

“So that is why I want to make the best of my time while I am around. Our time together is so wonderful and precious.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Moore’s dog loves travelling first class.
The 61-year-old actress is regularly joined at events around the world by her micro-Chihuahua Pilaf and the pooch has embraced living the high life and only likes turning right on the plane.

“I usually have her in my little sling.
“We go everywhere – she’s been to the French Open, the Louvre, and Broadway shoes.
“She just saw ‘Romeo and Juliet’ with Tom Holland in London. She was quite moved. She thought the performance was extraordinary, as it was.”
Pilaf has almost 30,000 followers on her own Instagram account and Demi thinks she has a natural star quality about her.
She said: “She is quite a star. She’s had ore write-ups than you could ever imagine. Who knew?
“She is a pound and a half, the runt of her litter.
“She is a star and she knows it – that’s the thing. But she knows it in a way that she owns it.”
Meanwhile, ‘The Substance’ actress urged people to be less “judgemental and closed” and more willing to help others and be compassionate.

“We all fall down at some point and it’s how we choose to pick ourselves up.

‘I married my polar opposite…’ Kristen Bell says she and Dax Shepard are very different to each other

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell married her “polar opposite” in Dax Shepard.
The 44-year-old actress can relate to her alter ego Joanne and her relationship with Noah (Adam Brody) in new Netflix series ‘Nobody Wants This’ because she and Dax – who have two daughters, Lincoln, 11, and nine-year-old Delta, together – are such different people, but their relationship works for them.
She told Britain’s HELLO! Magazine: “Joanne craves spontaneity and Noah almost seems allergic to it, so they’re polar opposites in almost every way.
“Having a relationship in real life where I married my polar opposite, I can tell you it’s endlessly fun and stimulating and requires a lot of growth, which leads to a lot of self-esteem and a deeper partnership.”
Kristen was attracted to ‘Nobody Wants This’ because it is rare for a TV show to focus on “later-in-life” relationships.
She said: “Sometimes when I’m watching a romantic comedy and they’re 21, I’m thinking, ‘You’re not going to find your person right now, you’re 21.;
“This is a later-in-life stage, and I think we’ve also seen that happening culturally and societally.
“I have a ton of girlfriends who are my age an they’re like, ‘I’m still dating. What am I going to do with my life?”
The ‘Gossip Girl’ star had taken a break from her career to focus on her family and ‘Nobody Wants This’ came along at the right time for her.
She said: “I never really have a roadmap of what I want to do next, rather I’m told by my gut and this came across my desk at a time when I was keen to be creative again.
“I think I was also secretly craving a romantic comedy.
“I haven’t seen one that I’ve connected with in so long and this one was funny and thoughtful and edgy.
“There isn’t a better way to spend your time, entertainment-wise, than laughing and crying and rooting for love.”
