Cheryl fighting to ‘navigate’ ex-boyfriend Liam Payne’s ‘earth-shattering’ death

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl is battling to “navigate” her ex-boyfriend Liam Payne’s “earth-shattering” death.
The former Girls Aloud singer, 41, was a judge on ‘The X Factor’ on which Liam found fame as a teenager, and the pair – who had seven-year-old son Bear – went on to date from 2016 to 2018.
She shared her heartbreak over his shocking passing on Friday (18.10.24), two days after Liam, 31, fell to his death from the balcony of his third-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.
Alongside a black-and-white photo of Liam in bed with their son, who was a baby when the snap was taken, Cheryl said: “As I try to navigate this earth shattering event, and work through my own grief at this indescribably painful time, I’d like to kindly remind everyone that we have lost a human being.
“Liam was not only a pop star and celebrity, he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7 year old son. A son that now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.”
Referring to rumours around Liam’s death and the publication of a picture of his dead body by website TMZ, Cheryl went on: “What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past few days.
“It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in the future. I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces.
“Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them.
Cheryl concluded her message, written in white lettering on a black background: “Please give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death to rest in some peace at last. Thank you, Cheryl.”
Liam was said to have been keen for a “fresh start” with Cheryl before his death.
During a podcast interview in June 2022, Liam hailed his son Bear as a “lovely, lovely boy” and praised Cheryl’s parenting skills, saying: “She is the best mum in the world, I couldn’t ask for someone better.”

Liam Payne fell to death minutes after hotel staff made panicked 911 call

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne fell to his death minutes after hotel staff made a 911 call for help, a moment-by-moment breakdown of his final hours shows.
The former One Direction singer died instantly on Wednesday (16.10.24) aged 31 after he plummeted to the ground from the third-floor balcony of the CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires, and a timeline of events leading up to the tragedy has now been put together from police response records on the tragedy.
It shows Liam was pictured by another hotel guest lying on a sofa in the lobby on his laptop at 4.26pm.
At 4.28pm he was also photographed next to a lift in the same lobby.
By 5.01pm, hotel staff had dialled 911 at 5.01pm asking for police to be sent – with the head receptionist saying “urgent assistance” was needed to help with a guest who was behaving “erratically”.
He added on the call: “He is destroying the entire room. We need you to send someone please.”
By 5.04pm, officers had been assigned to the scene.
A minute later a patrol car arrived at the hotel, but Liam had already fallen from his balcony.
It is not clear exactly what time the singer fell, but at 5.07pm police reported a person had plunged from the third floor and urgently requested an ambulance.
Paramedics arrived at the hotel at 5.11pm and Liam was pronounced dead.
Witnesses have said Liam was seen arguing with an unidentified woman before his death.
Michael Fleischmann, who was at the hotel, was quoted by The Sun saying the singer appeared “very upset” as he argued about money in front of other guests.
Another guest said Liam displayed “disturbing” behaviour ahead of his death.
As part of their investigation, police have spoken to at least three hotel staff and two women who saw Liam the day he died.
Images of the inside of Liam’s hotel room have emerged showing a smashed TV, what appears to be white powder and medication.
Police have said the singer’s suite was in total “disarray”.
They have also said the circumstances surrounding Liam’s death were suspicious and possibly involved drugs – but have insisted there was no sign of third party involvement in his passing.

Liam Payne’s devastated dad arrives in Argentina

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne’s father has arrived in Argentina.
Grief-torn Geoff Payne, 66, was photographed coming out of the Hotel Casa Lucia in a blue suit and black T-shirt after his former One Direction singer son died aged 31 on Wednesday (16.10.24) when he plunged 45ft to his death from the third-storey balcony of his room in the CasaSur Hotel, Buenos Aires.
Geoff – who had Liam with his wife Karen Payne – is thought to have been on his way to the Buenos Aires Judicial Office when he was snapped.
He mourned the loss of his boy a day after his death emerged in a joint statement from his family.
It said: “Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.
“We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”
Emergency workers who rushed to the scene of Liam’s death were too late to save him.
Liam sustained multiple traumas that led to internal and external bleeding, the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office has told Page Six.
Emergency medical doctor Alberto Crescenti was quoted by The US Sun saying: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.
“Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”
Eyewitnesses have claimed Liam was displaying “disturbing” behaviour in the lobby of the hotel where he died, with authorities discovering alcohol and controlled substances in Liam’s trashed hotel suite.

A source told The Sun about the father-of-one’s donations: “Liam had all this money and, yes, he had fancy things in life, but he also had a burning desire to use his money to do good.
“Even in the weeks leading up to his death – and when he was battling his own demons – he was helping others.
“He was really passionate about being a good person, especially when it came to children.
“He was like one of his idols George Michael in that respect.”
Liam, who had an estimated fortune of £46million, gave away millions of pounds to charities around the globe in the years since he found fame.
The Sun reported Liam’s £10,000 gifts were made last month.
It added he donated the cash via GoFundMe “in a single evening” as he “read the heartbreaking stories on the website of those in need”.
The Sun reported: “The children or young adults Liam helped all needed life-saving operations, with some suffering from cancer and one being the victim of a school shooting.”
It gave a breakdown of the donations, saying on 30 September Liam gave £2,300 to help support a 28-year-old American man called Jack who suffered from stage 4 B-cell lymphoma.
He donated another £3,833 to help Macy Shepard, four, who was diagnosed with a stage 2 Wilms tumour on her kidney, the paper added.

The Sun added £2,223 went to help a four-year-old stroke victim called Kailyn.
In 2015, Liam was guest of honour at a ceremony at a new state-of-the art youth centre being built in his home town of Wolverhampton and later donated £3,000.
When asked in 2022 how he wanted to be remembered the singer said: “Honestly, just being a nice guy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez is reportedly desperate for a “big dance hit”.
The 55-year-old singer was left devastated after she filed for divorce from her ex-husband Ben Affleck, 52, on 20 August, but is now said to be back on top of getting her music career on track again.
A source told Page Six about her music team: “They have reached out to songwriters. She wants a big dance hit.
“She wants to get hits, and put out a new album.”
Jennifer’s last album ‘This Is Me… Now’ was inspired by her relationship with her ex Ben and was released in February.

Jennifer hinted at retiring from music ahead of its release, saying: “The truth is I don’t even know if I’ll ever make another album after this.
“Don’t tell Benny (Medina, her long-term manager) that that’s what I’m thinking – this might be my last album ever.”

Al Pacino drunkenly kidnapped by female fan

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino was kidnapped by a female fan.
‘The Godfather’ actor, 84, has been sober for years, but said during his boozing days he once got so drunk he could not remember where he was staying and stupidly agreed to get a in car with a woman when she spotted him and offered to give him a lift.
He said in his newly released memoir ‘Sonny Boy’ he got drunk while out for drinks with actor Gene Hackman’s brother Richard Hackman after he’d starred in ‘The Godfather’.
Al added about the incident when he “got so drunk that I could not find my way home”: “A woman said to me, ‘Oh, I’ll drive you home’.
“And without a second thought, I got into her car with her.”
He went on about realising he was being trapped: “As we drove, even in my daze, I could recognise that she was not taking me back to where I was staying. “I said to her, ‘What is going on here?’
“And she said straight out, ‘I’m kidnapping you.’”
Al said he was “well-known” at the time as he’d already made 1972’s ‘The Godfather’.
The ‘Heat’ actor insisted the woman’s behaviour wasn’t just “some aggressive flirtation”, adding: “I am from the South Bronx. When I see some crazy person trying to do something to me, I know how to escape.
“I said, ‘No, you’re not. I’m getting out.’
“She said, ‘No, no,’ and she kept driving.”
Al opened the car door and threatened to jump out if she didn’t stop – adding: “I was a little drunk, but I was ready to leap from a moving car if I had to. This ain’t happening to me, man.”
His threat worked and his female captor agreed to take him home.
Al also opened up in his book about why he has steered clear of marriage.
He said he has “always shied away” from it, adding about how he likes his space: “I guess I didn’t see how it would help anything. I just wanted to avoid what I thought, at the time, was the inevitable: an entrance to the pain train.”

Liam Payne ‘left behind finished autobiographical album’ that may be released posthumously

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne reportedly left behind a finished autobiographical album that may be released posthumously.
The tragic One Direction singer, 31, died on Wednesday (16.10.24) after he plunged 45ft to his death from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, and he said to have been set to put out the record earlier this year before it was hit by a string of delays – including two spells in hospital for the star when he was stricken by kidney problems.
It could now be released posthumously by Liam’s former label Capitol Records, according to The Sun.
The album’s lead single ‘Teardrops’ was released in March, and the newspaper said its tracks are filled with “haunting” lyrics.
A source told the paper: “Liam was always working on songs on his laptop and was in the process of setting up a home studio in Miami but the record was essentially done.
“Most of the tracks were heard by the label and played to his team.
“Lyrically it’s heavy but Liam was really proud of it and was keen to open up so others going through similar things didn’t feel alone.”
Liam said in March about the album: “Every one of these songs is a story from my life.
“For the first time you really get a picture of what it was like for me each day of making this record like this.
“This album is literally this last year for me, how I was feeling on those days is each record.”
Liam’s first album, 2019’s ‘LP1’, gave him two solo Top 10 hits.
It is not clear exactly what time the singer fell to his death on Wednesday, but at 5.07pm police reported an individual had plunged from the third floor and urgently requested an ambulance.
Paramedics arrived at the hotel at 5.11pm and Liam was pronounced dead.
Witnesses have said the singer was seen arguing with an unidentified woman in the hotel lobby before his death.

Colin Farrell’s son gave him ‘desire to live’ amid sobriety battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Farrell’s son gave him a “desire to live” amid his sobriety battle.
The former hard-living actor, 48, had his boy James Padraig Farrell, 21, with US model Kim Bordenave, 52, in 2003 – and four years later he announced he had Angelman syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterised by intellectual and developmental delay, lack of speech, and an excitable demeanour.
Colin has now told the Daily Mail about how a desire to care for James was the “fuel” behind his fight to give up and abstain from drugs and alcohol: “James was two when I got sober.
“Part of the fuel that I used to get off alcohol and drugs and all that stuff was knowing he had health issues.
“All children need their parents – or a parent or grandparent or somebody – to care for them.
“One of the things James taught me was to access within myself a desire to live, even if it was initially more about me thinking I wanted to live to be around for him.”
Colin added despite loving being sober now he did not realise how “painful” life could be until he stopped drinking.
The Oscar-nominee sought treatment for his drinking in 2005, and returned to rehab in 2018.
Colin is also a father to his 15-year-old son Henry, and he also told the Mail at the height of his boozing he would down around three bottles of Jack Daniels, 12 bottles of red wine and 60 pints of beer a week.
In 2022, the ‘Penguin’ actor told Variety that he was “stopping what has been a generational issue” in his “biological family”.
Colin also hailed sobriety his “legacy”, adding: “Generations of people have had their lives ruled and ruined by alcoholism and drug addiction. For me – sobriety first. Always.”

Al Pacino’s ex-girlfriend Noor Alfallah insists she’s just friends with comic Bill Maher

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino’s ex-girlfriend Noor Alfallah has insisted she and Bill Maher are just friends.
The 84-year-old ‘Carlito’s Way’ actor first met the film producer, 30, in 2010 and their relationship deepened during lockdown – with the pair having son Roman in June 2023 – but Al told People earlier this month about how they had split by saying they now only have a “friendship”.
Noor, who was spotted on a night out with comic Bill Maher, 68, at LA’s Chateau Marmont soon after the actor’s admission, has now spoken out to say she isn’t in a relationship with the stand-up and TV host.
She told TMZ about how they are strictly platonic while opening up about co-parenting with her “best friend” Al.
Noor added: “Bill’s my friend – just my friend – Bill’s great though.”
She said she and Al were not together but called co-parenting their boy Roman “amazing”.
Al’s exes include actresses Diane Keaton, Beverly D’Angelo and Kathleen Quinlan.
As well as Roman, father-of-four Al is a dad to daughter Julie, 34, with acting coach Jan Tarrant, and has 23-year-old twins Anton and Olivia with Beverly.
Al refers to marriage in his new memoir ‘Sonny Boy’ as “an entrance to the pain train”.
He added to People about his view on getting hitched: “Everything’s a ticket to the pain train. A ticket or nothing: ‘Are you going to go or not?’ ‘No, I’ll stay here. I’ll stay here at the station, I’m not getting on’.
“(Marriage) can suit you, by all means. (But) I just didn’t feel it ever suited me for some reason.
“I loved living together (with women), and then… it depends on who you are getting along with.
“If you live together with someone, there’s got to be… you have to have this communion.
“If you don’t, it’s almost an invasion. So I like to know that if I find a human that I can connect with.”
Al added about how he enjoys a massive range of friendships: “I have friends all over the place. I must say I’m very lucky with that.”

Al Pacino didn’t get paid ‘big bucks’ to star in ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino didn’t get paid “big bucks” to appear in the Oscar-winning ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’.
The ‘Heat’ actor, who is now worth an estimated $120 million, told in his newly released memoir ‘Sonny Boy’ a crooked accountant fleeced him of $50 million, and it’s now emerged he also reveals in the book he took the part in Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 film as he liked his co-stars — and not because of the pay.
Al, who plays movie violence-obsessed movie producer Marvin Schwarz in the film, said in his autobiography: “(I’m now) famous in a different way, not so much because of the work I’m doing, but through my associations with various people and my appearing in certain things, and from living in Hollywood.
“I got lucky. I was in three films in a row that in different ways made a real impact, starting with ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’.
“I didn’t get paid the big bucks for it, but I was working with Quentin Tarantino, Leo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie, and I did like the part.
“That’s why I did it, but I said to my lawyer, ‘How do I do this without being paid?’”
Al revealed in his book he ended up “broke” after his crooked accountant emptied his bank account.
The fraudster eventually served seven-and-a-half years in prison for running a Ponzi scheme.
Al said he started “to get warnings that my accountant at the time, a guy who had lots of celebrity clients, was not to be trusted” in around 2011.
The actor said he was already paying a “ridiculous amount of money to rent some big fancy house in Beverly Hills”, then he took his entire family on a trip to Europe where he flew various guests overseas on a “gorgeous Gulfstream 550” jet and rented an entire floor at the Dorchester hotel in London.
Al said it was only when he returned to his Hollywood home he became suspicious after realising his finances had not dramatically changed despite spending so much on vacation.
He said: “I thought, It’s simple. It’s clear. I just know this. Time stopped. I am f*****.
“I was broke. I had $50 million, and then I had nothing. I had property, but I didn’t have any money.
“In this business, when you make $10 million dollars for a film, it’s not $10 million.
“Because after the lawyers, and the agents, and the publicist, and the government, it’s not $10 million, it’s $4.5 million in your pocket.
“But you’re living above that because you’re high on the hog. And that’s how you lose it.
“It’s very strange, the way it happens. The more money you make, the less you have.”

Kylie Minogue happy to be single

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue is happy to be single.
The 56-year-old singer admitted there is “no one significant” in her life at the moment but insisted she is happier than ever.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: “There’s no one significant in my life and I feel content. I feel like this is my ¬destiny right now.”
When the interviewer commented that Kylie seems to be “owning it” without a partner, she replied: “Yes, that’s fair to say. I am in that lane of life.”
However, she admitted that she is always open to love.
She said: “But if there is a best friend who turns up and says to me, ‘You’ve got to meet this person’, then why not?”
In new track ‘Someone For Me’, she sings: “Yeah, you look happy, but do you have someone for me? To be the one, to turn me on. That’s what I need. Do you have someone for me?”
But, when asked if the song was autobiographical, Kylie responded: “No. I think ‘Someone For Me’ is very clever songwriting. I can really picture the story and I love twists like, ‘I really want you to be happy but do you have someone for me?’”
And, she insisted that the only love she needs right now if from her fans.
Kylie said: ““To go through this moment, this whole ‘Tension’ and ‘Tension II’ journey . . . that kind of is a love affair as well — with the fans, your audience and your work and the music.
“Added to that is the history of what has come before and where I am at in my life now and what I want to achieve. I’m happy.”
Kylie also spoke about her decision to permanently move home to Australia, to be closer to her family.
She said: “My family is really important and integral to that — knowing that they are there and I have their support in good times and bad times.
“And I want to say some common sense, but I know common sense doesn’t always prevail.
“It’s how I’ve rolled from the beginning. There is a lot to be said for having a lot of years under my belt, when you start working young.
“I don’t live in fairyland, I’m also just determined. I want to just get the best result. I will sleep at the end of it.”

Andrew Garfield experiencing ‘midlife crisis’

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield feels like he’s “in the middle of” a “light midlife crisis”.
The 41-year-old actor was still struggling with the loss of his mum Lynn from pancreatic cancer in 2019 when he was offered his role in new movie ‘We Live in Time’ and admitted that he instantly connected with the themes of the film because of his own experiences.
He told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I was going through my own personal journey with my own grief. I was entering a midlife crisis and was in the middle of taking a break from everything.
“So I was thinking about life and death, love and existence, and looking back and looking forward and wondering what we are doing here on this planet and how we make it as meaningful as possible.
“It was a light midlife crisis and it continues now – I’m right in the middle of it.
“But it’s OK. I think we all have to go through midlife crisis. It’s a positive experience of disassembling and reassembling.
“When I read this script, I thought, ‘Oh this is some version of the inside of my own heart right now.’”
Despite his struggles, the ‘Hacksaw Ridge’ actor has found comfort in many areas of his life.
He said: “I feel as though when I’ve been in the heart of my grief, it’s loved ones I’ve felt mentorship and care from.

“I feel as though it’s someone reaching a hand across time and space and saying, ‘Me too, you’re not alone. This is universal.’
“That is some of the most beautiful stuff that human beings get to do for each other.
“For me, this process didn’t feel like digging up old wounds, it felt very healing.
“It actually felt as though it helped me stay close to the truth of my grief, the truth of my longings, the truth of my joys.
“It was a beautiful, healing thing.”
