Gemma Arterton can speak French

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Arterton has learned to speak French.
The 30-year-old British actress grew up in Kent, South East England, but has been working and living in Paris for over a year.
Gemma – who is dating assistant director Franklin Ohanessian, who is from France – was determined to be able to speak the language and not be like so many Brits living abroad who can only converse in English.
The brunette star appeared in French movie ‘Gemma Bovery’ and can soon be seen in Arnaud des Pallières’ ‘Orpheline’ and she insists expanding her language skills has been great for her career.
In an interview on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: “I’ve been working a lot over there [Paris] so I split my time, but I’ve been here a lot recently but I do miss it, I love Paris. I speak French now … for me learning French, it was hard but I’m really pleased I did because it’s opened up my life a lot, work-wise and just in general it’s always good to learn another language.”
Gemma’s latest movie is post-apocalyptic zombie thriller ‘The Girl with All the Gifts’ in which she stars with big screen legend Glenn Close and Paddy Considine.
The former Bond girl admits working with ‘Fatal Attraction’ actress Glenn, 69, was an incredible experience, although somewhat intimidating initially, and the pair developed a friendship on set.
She revealed: “Glenn is such a great woman obviously and I was actually a little intimidated, I’ve been a fan of hers forever. I thought she would be, you know, we see her characters who are quite cold but she’s not like that at all, she’s so warm and lovely and fun, and we got on so well, she’s fantastic.”

Emmy Awards pay tribute to late Alan Rickman

OHMYGOSSIP — The Emmy Awards remembered late stars Alan Rickman and Gene Wilder and others who have died in the past year.
The ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the 2016 Emmy Awards on Sunday night (18.09.16) paid tribute to the many stars who have passed away in the past 12 months, including the ‘Harry Potter’ actor, the ‘Stir Crazy’ star and ‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin.
Henry Winkler, 70, introduced the heartfelt tribute by honouring director and ‘Happy Days’ creator Garry Marshall – who died at the age of 81 in July – before the slideshow of names was beamed onto a big screen.
Winkler – who played The Fonz in the popular American sitcom ‘Happy Days’ – said: “He was alive, he was a generosity of spirit and knowledge. I should know – he gave me my career. And I will tell you that anybody who was lucky enough to meet him, he changed their life. On behalf of all of us, Gary, thank you for inviting us into your schoolyard.”
The star introduced the list of incredible names by saying that their “accomplishments and contributions will never be forgotten.”
Other stars who were honoured in the slideshow included Patty Duke, Alan Young, Anton Yelchin, Doris Roberts, Dan Haggerty, Garry Shandling, Prince and David Bowie.
Controversially, former ‘The Voice’ contestant Christina Grimmie was missed from the tributes after she was shot in June, and late WWE wrestler Chyna was also not included.

She tweeted: “Honored to perform at the #Emmys this sunday 9/18. tune in at 7est/4pst on abc @televisionacad (sic)”

Matt LeBlanc's awkward Emmys red carpet moment

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt LeBlanc incurred an awkward moment on the Emmy Awards red carpet when he joked about Emilia Clarke being naked – as she was listening.
While being interviewed at the awards ceremony at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater last night (18.09.16), the former ‘Friends’ actor admitted he has only watched the first series of ‘Game of Thrones’ but is keen to tune in to further episodes of the HBO drama to see her nude.
During the Emmys coverage on E!, Jason Kennedy asked Matt if he watches the programme – in which Emilia portrays Daenerys Targaryen – and the replied: “Yeah, I saw the first season, and I kind of fell out of touch with it.
“I guess that’s when she started getting naked, so I need to catch up.”
Emilia was being interviewed by the show’s co-host Giuliana Rancic at the time on a different section of the red carpet but heard Matt’s comment and let off a slight smile.
While she seemed to laugh off the quip, fans of the 29-year-old actress were less than impressed with Matt’s comment with some taking to Twitter to slam the actor as a “creep” and “disappointing”.
One wrote: “Matt LeBlanc telling Emilia Clark he should start watching second season of GOT cause she starts getting naked is too much. Creep. (sic)”
Another posted: “Matt Leblanc said he needs to catch up on GoT because he likes Emilia Clarke naked? Very disappointing. (sic)”
One tweeted: “Way to creep a gal out Matt Le Blanc (sic)”
It was a celebratory night for Emilia as ‘Game of Thrones’ was crowned Best Drama for the second year running and broke the record for the highest number of Emmys ever won when the programme picked up its 39th accolade.
The fantasy show won 12 of the 24 prizes it was nominated for helping to beat the previous record of 38 held by sitcom ‘Frasier’.

Kanye West serenades fan

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West serenaded a fan who “brought tears” to his eyes by wearing a T-shirt paying her respects to his late mother.
The 39-year-old hip hop mogul has been entertaining adoring audiences on his ‘Saint Pablo Tour’, but one admirer stood out to him during his concert at the American Airlines Arena in Miami on Saturday night (17.09.16).
The girl, named as Krystal, caught the ‘Famous’ hitmaker’s attention by sporting a tattoo of the illustration created by George Condo for Kanye’s single ‘Runaway’. The girl was also wearing a T-shirt featuring the image of the rapper’s mother Donda West – who passed away in November 2007.
Speaking at the show, Kanye said: “The girl with the ‘In loving memory of’ and the ‘Runaway’ tattoo right here. You literally brought tears to my eyes.”
The ‘Famous’ rapper then asked for her name, to which fans around the girl all shouted back “Krystal!”. The star then began to sing the girl’s name as the crowd cheered.
Krystal has been sharing her excitement about the exchange on social media by posting photos from the show, and Kanye now has the ability to share his thoughts too via photo sharing website Instagram as he joined the site on Sunday (18.09.16).
He amassed a whopping 406,000 followers in the hours after he joined the site, and his follower count currently sits at around 828,000.
The news of his new social media activity comes after he previously teased the idea of him joining the site via his Twitter page.
He tweeted previously: “My tweets are a form of contemporary art only compromised by people trying to tell me what to tweet and not to tweet…
“on another note … I was thinking about getting an Instagram but only on one condition … No one can ask me or try to tell me what to Instagram … It’s my art… (sic)”

Game of Thrones will not get a prequel spin-off

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Game of Thrones’ won’t be getting a prequel series.
With only two seasons left for the hit fantasy drama, fans have been asking whether or not there would be any chance of spin-off set in the past.
Executive producer David Benioff has now answered that question, saying “this is it” and they won’t be making anything else once the final two seasons have aired.
When quizzed at the Emmy Awards if he would ever consider making a prequel series, the 45-year-old producer told reporters: “You might want to ask George (R.R. Martin) about that. It’s a great world that George created. I think it’s a very rich world, and I’m sure there will be other series set in Westeros, but for us, this is it. That’s really a question for George.”
Author of the novels George R.R. Martin won’t be quitting the ‘Game of Thrones’ world any time soon, and has revealed that fans of the series can still enjoy new material in written form.
Speaking at the event, the 67-year-old writer said: “Well, I do have thousands of pages of fake history – everything that led up to Game of Thrones – so there’s a wealth of material there, and I’m still writing more. At the moment, we still have this show to finish, and I still have two books to finish, so that’s all speculation.”
The news comes after the HBO hit took home 12 of the 24 Emmys it was nominated for, putting the show’s total at 39 and making it the most decorated prime time series in Emmy history.
The show beat the previously most crowned programme, sitcom ‘Frasier’, by just one prize, surpassing its impressive 38 trophies.
Most notably, the fantasy show picked up the coveted gong for Best Drama, as well as Best Directing for a Drama Series, and Best Writing for a Drama Series.
Series stars Maisie Williams, Kit Harrington, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Sophie Turner were all in attendance at the glitzy ceremony.

Tatiana Maslany wasn't expecting win

OHMYGOSSIP — Tatiana Maslany hadn’t written a speech to accept the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Emmy.
The 30-year-old actress was honoured at Sunday (18.09.16) evening’s prestigious ceremony for her role in ‘Orphan Black’, in which she plays multiple clones, each with their own distinct identity, and had to refer to drafts in her mobile phone to remind her of what to say on stage at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre.
Clutching her phone in one hand and the award in the other, she said: “I should have had this written down.
“There are so many people I feel so indebted to.”
She went on to thank the show’s creators for her “dream job”, before paying tribute to the “incredible writers’ room, beautiful cast and crew.”
She added: “I feel so lucky to be on a show that puts women at the centre. Thank you so much to the Academy. Thank you.”
And the actress admitted her lack of preparation with her speech was hit by more problems because she kept receiving congratulatory text messages while up on stage.
Speaking backstage, she said: “My phone kept going off accidentally. It was on Notes, but then they were all dinging because my friends are texting me.”
Tatiana beat off competition from Viola Davis (‘How to Get Away With Murder’), Taraji P. Henson (‘Empire’), Robin Wright (‘House of Cards’), Claire Danes (‘Homeland’), and Keri Russell (‘The Americans’) and was stunned to scoop the crown when faced with such stiff competition.
She said: “I didn’t expect it at all. It’s such an honour. The category I’m in is all these woman I’ve looked up to so long and whose work I so admire. … I haven’t quite breathed yet since I got off the stage. Hopefully at some point it’ll sink in.”
Elsewhere at the ceremony, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, ‘Game of Thrones’ scooped an impressive 12 awards, including the coveted Outstanding Drama Series prize, while Rami Malek picked up his first Emmy, with his turn in ‘Mr. Robot’ seeing him recognised with the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series prize.
‘Veep’ was named Outstanding Comedy Series, with its star Julia Louis-Dreyfus taking home Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. ‘Transparent’ star Jeffrey Tambor picked up Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus pays tribute to late father

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Louis-Dreyfus paid tribute to her late father as she picked up her Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the Emmy Awards on Sunday (18.09.16).
The 55-year-old actress – who plays politician Selina Meyer in ‘Veep’ – revealed her beloved dad had passed away just two days before the ceremony in an emotional acceptance speech.
Visibly shaking, Julia said: “I’d like to dedicate this to my father, William Louis-Dreyfus, who passed away on Friday. And, I’m so glad that he liked ‘Veep’ because his opinion was the one that really mattered.”
On a lighter note in her speech, Julia – whose win was her record-breaking sixth in the category – sparked laughs as she compared the current US political landscape to that shown in her satirical TV show.
She said: “I’d also like to take this opportunity to personally apologize for the current political climate.
“I think that ‘Veep’ has torn down the wall between comedy and politics. Our show started out as a political satire but it feels now like sobering documentary. So I certainly do promise to rebuild that wall and make Mexico pay for it.”
Julia’s speech caused panic amongst Twitter users, who thought veteran actor Richard Dreyfuss had passed away, but he quickly sought to reassure his fans.
He posted: “I’m actually not Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ father. But I really appreciate all the concerned tweets.”
Elsewhere at the ceremony, which was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, ‘Veep’ was also named Outstanding Comedy Series.
‘Game of Thrones’ scooped an impressive 12 awards, including the coveted Outstanding Drama Series prize, while Rami Malek picked up his first Emmy, with his turn in ‘Mr. Robot’ seeing him recognised with the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series prize. ‘Orphan Black’ actress Tatiana Maslany scooped Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and ‘Transparent’ star Jeffrey Tambor picked up Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

Jimmy Kimmel pokes fun at OJ Simpson during Emmys

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at Cuba Gooding Jr., Kit Harington. O.J. Simpson and Dame Maggie Smith while hosting the Emmy Awards last night (18.09.16).
The 48-year-old TV presenter made quips about several stars as he presented the ceremony for the second time, after previously fronting the show in 2012, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, including a number of jokes about ‘The People v O.J. Simpson’, which received multiple nods.
Jimmy joked Cuba Gooding Jr. did such a good job playing the former American footballer in the drama series about the ex-sportsman’s murder trial, for which he was found not guilty, that he thought the actor himself had committed the crime.
The ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ host said: “He played O.J. so well, I now believe Cuba may have done it.”
He also joked about O.J’s white Bronco car, which he was driving during a 90-minute police chase broadcast by news helicopters, and HBO drama series ‘Game of Thrones’, which won 12 Emmys and broke the record for the most ever won after being awarded its 39th.
Jimmy quipped: “If your show doesn’t have a dragon or a White Bronco in it, go home now.”
The TV presenter turned his attentions to Game of Thrones’ hunky actor Kit – who plays Jon Snow in the show – by joking that he enjoys pleasuring himself while watching the actor in action.
He said: “Television has the ability to make us laugh and cry and during certain key parts of ‘Game of Thrones’, masturbate.
“Hi Jon Snow, you’re my freebie you know. I’m so glad they brought Jon Snow back to life.”
At one point, Jimmy shocked the audience by announcing Bill Cosby – who has been accused of a number of historic sexual assaults, which he denies – was set to take to the stage to present an award.
After Jimmy had left the stage to make way for Bill, 79, several stars, including Tina Fey, were left open-mouthed by the announcement but the host returned and joked: “Don’t worry, he’s not really here. I just wanted to see what you guys would do.”
He poked fun at ‘Downton Abbey’ star Maggie for not attending the previous Emmys she won three gongs in – and minutes later she picked up her fourth, an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama prize for her role as the Dowager Countess.
Jimmy joked: “If we call your name and you’re not here to accept, the Emmy goes to the next name on the list. It’s called the ‘Maggie Smith rule’.
“This year she had a Sunday ceramics class she couldn’t miss. She goes to other awards shows. She showed up at the Tonys, she goes to the Soul Train awards every year – she’s Downton Absence.”
As well as mocking TV series ‘Transparent’, which tells the story of a family with a transgender family, by saying, “‘Transparent’ was born a drama, but it identifies as a comedy,” he also made reference to the Emmys’ diversity, in a dig at the Oscars.
He said: “Here in Hollywood, the only thing we value more than diversity is congratulating ourselves on how much we value diversity.
“The Emmys, they’re so diverse this year, the Oscars are telling people we’re one of their closest friends.
“If you are a person of colour in our audience tonight, especially if you’re a nominee, please find a white person.
“It shouldn’t be hard, I see a bunch of them, please reach out and say, thanks for your bravery.”
Earlier this year, the Academy Awards was slammed for its lack of diversity among the nominees.

Tom Hiddleston: Taylor Swift and I are good friends

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Hiddleston has confirmed he and Taylor Swift are on good terms following their break up.
The 35-year-old actor and the ‘Blank Space’ hitmaker went their separate ways earlier this month after dating for three months, and despite the media controversy over who dumped who, the they are still pals.
When asked at the Emmy Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday (18.09.16) if he and Taylor were still friends, the ‘Night Manager’ star told PEOPLE: “Yes. Yes, we are.”
But it seems the ‘Thor’ actor wasn’t dwelling on his relationship with the 26-year-old musician for long, as eye witnesses claim to have seen the hunk getting close to 34-year-old actress Priyanka Chopra at the awards after-party.
An insider told E!: “Tom had his arm around her and held her close.
“Afterwards, Tom and Priyanka talked closely and were holding hands at one point for a few moments. Priyanka fixed Tom’s bow-tie and then the two kissed on both cheeks.”
The reports come after the ‘Bad Blood’ hitmaker was said to have wanted to keep their former relationship private, deeming the Emmys “too public”.
A source previously said: “Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private.
“Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable.
“She tried to be OK with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons.”
The relationship reportedly then fell apart when insiders claimed Tom “didn’t listen” to Taylor over her concerns about the possible impact that publicity could have on their romance.
A source said: “Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.”

While David had pulled out all the stops with his emotional speech, his co-writer D.B. went for a more subtle approach.
Addressing his wife Andrea and two children, he said: “Andrea, Leo, Hugo, you’re the reason I get up in the morning. I love you all very much.”
Along with Best Drama, ‘GOT’ also won Best Directing for a Drama Series for Miguel Sapochnik’s work and David and D.B. also won Best Writing for a Drama Series.

Kristen Bell takes kids to work with her

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristen Bell takes her children to work with her “every day.”
The 36-year-old actress has admitted she and her husband Dax Shepard don’t need a nanny for their daughters Lincoln, three, and Delta, 21 months, when they’re busy on movie or television jobs because they take them along with them.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, when asked how they balance work with parenthood, Kristen said: “Only one of us works at a time. We have a lot of great people that are our support system and we bring our kids everywhere — my babies come to work every day, I have the luxury of doing that.”
And the couple, who have been married since 2013, are also fairly picky on what projects they take on which will require them to be away from their little ones for too long.
She explained: “We’re very mindful about taking jobs that will not take us away from them too much.”
The pair may not have any issues when it comes to juggling their globe-trotting careers and caring for their young children but Kristen has admitted she and Dax, 41, still have to make a conscious effort to set time aside for sex.
She said recently: “We’re pretty decent about staying on top of it. We’ll be like, ‘Okay, it’s been how many days?’ We find a night when nobody is coming over and we don’t have to work super-early in the morning, and then we slot it in.”
However, the couple’s approach to sex is hardly surprising as they are both “very focused” on making their marriage work.
She explained: “One thing I like to reiterate … is that we’ve done a lot of work on our relationship. We’re very focused on staying together. “We’ve made a choice to love each other but realise relationships are a lot of work. I think it’s responsible to be honest about that.”

Adele to go to university?

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele is planning to go to university.
The 28-year-old singer was forced to give up her studies when she was offered a recording contract in her early 20s, but now the ‘Hello’ hitmaker has admitted she feels like her upcoming hiatus will be the perfect time to get her degree.
She told fans at her show in Boston over the weekend: “I’m desperate to go to university. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s one thing I really plan on doing. I was about to start university in Liverpool in England and then I got offered a record deal, so I was like, ‘Ugh, what do I do?’ Obviously I took the record deal which I don’t regret at all.”
The ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker would ideally like to study at the prestigious Harvard University in Massachusetts, but she doesn’t think she’d be smart enough to earn a place.
She said: “I want to go and do a tour of Harvard but I don’t want anyone thinking I’m smart enough to go to Harvard. I’m going to buy a T-shirt so I can sleep in a Harvard T-shirt. I think I would pretend to wear glasses if I went to university.”
Adele’s determination to go back to school comes just a few days after it was revealed she’s planning to ditch touring for a while in order to spend time with her partner Simon Konecki and their three-year-old son Angelo.
The source said recently: “Angelo is the number one priority for Adele. He is the most important thing in her life. She has brought him everywhere with her on tour but as he is starting school next year, he won’t be able to join her any more.
“Adele doesn’t want to miss a moment of Angelo growing up and it’s an easy decision for her to give up touring for him. Right now she is saying she won’t do another massive world tour like the current one for another 10 years.”

But the ‘Scandal’ star has also admitted that her and the former American football cornerback, 35, are keeping details of their baby under wraps and are waiting until the birth to find out the gender of their newest addition.
She said: “We don’t know [the gender], yeah. I’m open — honestly, healthy, happy baby — that’s what we want.”
Despite her anxieties about never having lived in a family with more than one child, the ‘Django Unchained’ actress confessed she is “excited” about the prospect of more children, and she thinks their family is “going to be great”.
She said: “We’re all really excited. We’ll see how it all plays out. I’m an only child, so I’m like, ‘What’s this going to be like?’ But I think it’s going to be great.”
However, the ‘Confirmation’ star is bound to be concerned about adding to her broad as she previously admitted that giving birth to her first child Isabelle turned her world “upside down in the most beautiful way.”
She said: “You know it [motherhood] just turns your world upside down in the most beautiful way. She [Isabelle] makes me better, I hope, every day. I feel very lucky to be her mum.
“I will say I feel really, really blessed. I just feel really blessed that I’m kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life.”

Caleb explained: “We got to understand more about Paul, and what he was all about. We had to share Paul with a lot of people, in a weird way. He was gone a lot, he was filming, so we missed him. “We had a really good talk with Vin [Diesel]. Vin is like the godfather, he really is, and he kind of became our godfather in a weird way. He obviously knew Paul so well, he shared things with us that Cody and I [didn’t know.]
“Paul kept a lot of things about work kind of quiet with his family and friends, and so we were able to learn some things through [his co-stars].”

Sound of Music actress Charmian Carr dead at 73

OHMYGOSSIP — Charmian Carr has died.
The 73-year-old actress, who was best known for playing Liesl in ‘The Sound of Music’ alongside Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, died of complications from a rare form of dementia on Saturday (17.09.16), according to a message on her official website.
Steve Hughes, whose company manages the website wrote: “My name is Steve Hughes, and my Company has been managing Charmian Carr’s website for many, many years. Me and my family are so sad to have to post this message and will miss her dearly… We had the gracious opportunity to stay at Charmian Carr’s house several times while we worked on different projects for her. And we traveled to New York with her on another occasion. She was such a nice, cheerful person. We always LOVED, The Sound of Music, and still do.
“Carr was best known for her role as the eldest Von Trapp daughter, Liesl, in the academy award winning movie, “The Sound of Music.” Carr was 21 at the time the movie was filmed, and is famous for singing the beloved song “I Am Sixteen Going on Seventeen.” After The Sound of Music, Carr also starred opposite Anthony Perkins in the Stephen Sondheim television musical Evening Primrose (sic).”
Mr Hughes went on to share some details about the life of the late star, who became a successful interior designer after leaving the film industry in order to raise her two children.
He wrote: “Carr was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1942. Her family moved to the San Fernando Valley when she was 13. She is the daughter of Rita Oehmen, a vaudeville actress, and Brian Farnon, a musician and orchestra leader.
“Carr was best known for acting, but much of her life revolved around her family and her interior design business. After acting in the Sound of Music, she married and then decided to leave the movie business and raise her two children, Jennifer & Emily. It was a decision she never regretted. Once her children were older, Carr started her design business, Charmian Carr Design. Her most famous client was Michael Jackson, who was a huge fan of “The Sound of Music.” It was his favorite film and they shared a special friendship.
“Carr co-wrote 2 books – In 2000 she released “Forever Liesl” which details her experiences making the movie and living her life as “Liesl”. In 2001 she released her second book, “Letters to Liesl” which was inspired by mail she’d received from thousands of her fans. She also participated in “the Sound of Music Family Scrapbook” which contains personal photographs, home movies, and memorabilia from all of the actors who played the children in film. Lady Gaga to headline 2017 Super Bowl

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga will headline the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show.
The 30-year-old singer has been signed up to perform at the 51st Super Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on February 5, 2017, one year after she sang the American National Anthem at the annual NFL event, Us Weekly reports.
Gaga will follow in the footsteps of Coldplay, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry, who have all recently headlined the halftime show.
Adele recently revealed that she was offered the 2017 slot but turned it down.
Speaking during her concert in Los Angeles in August, Adele said: “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”
It was previously claimed that show bosses were desperate to sign Adele up for the show.
A source said: “There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and they are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.
“She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers.”
However, no doubt Gaga will be thrilled to replace her as she revealed that singing the National Anthem at the 2016 show was a career and personal highlight.
She said: “This is one of the highest honours of my career. I get a chance to sing for all the athletes – who have been working so hard their whole lives for this moment – the coaches, as well as the fans in the stands who are waiting for this moment. I think it marks what being an American is all about.”
