Bob Dylan acknowledges Nobel Prize win

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Dylan has finally acknowledged his Nobel Prize win.
The ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’ hitmaker was announced last week as the first singer/songwriter to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature, and despite a number of live performances last weekend, he hasn’t publicly spoken about the honour and reportedly hasn’t even returned numerous calls from the Nobel committee.
However, his website now features the text “WINNER OF THE NOBEL PRIZE IN LITERATURE” in a piece promoting a book of his lyrics.
The singer was chosen for the prestigious accolade “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”, according to Sara Danius, permanent Secretary of the Nobel Foundation.
Dylan – who changed his real name from Robert Zimmerman to his stage name because he was inspired by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas – is also the first American to win the accolade since novelist Toni Morrison in 1993.
Danius has described the folk rock legend as a master of reinvention and a worthy recipient among his Nobel Prize peers because like their work has, his songs will undoubtedly stand the test of time.
She said: “[He is] a great poet in the English speaking tradition. A great sampler … and for 54 years he has been at it, reinventing himself. If you look far back, 5000 years, you discover Homer and Sappho. They wrote poetic texts which were meant to be performed, and it’s the same way for Bob Dylan. We still read Homer and Sappho, and we enjoy it.”
The 75-year-old star’s protest songs such as ‘The Times They are A-Changin’ became anthems for the anti-Vietnam War movement during the 1960s and his constant hunger for reinvention – which began with his initially unpopular decision to plug in and go electric in the mid-60s – has kept him at the forefront of music.

Cathriona White's mother claims to have Jim Carrey's blood test results

OHMYGOSSIP — Cathriona White’s mother claims she has positive blood test results that prove Jim Carrey knew he had STDs.
The 54-year-old actor has been hit with wrongful death lawsuits over the suicide of his former girlfriend, with her mom Brigid Sweetman and estranged husband Mark Burton claiming she took her own life after he gave her three sexually-transmitted infections, accusations which he has denied.
However, in new documents filed by Brigid, she claims Jim exposed her daughter to herpes, chlamydia and Hepatitis A by hiding his infected status and continuing to have unprotected sex with her. She has also submitted as evidence what she claims are the ‘Mask’ star’s positive blood test results, which she believes prove he knew he had STDs in January 2013, a few weeks before he was with Cathriona on Valentine’s Day.
According to TMZ, Brigid also alleges in her documents that Jim infected her daughter and feigned ignorance when she told him she had “bumps down there” and was going to see a doctor.
Brigid has slammed the ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ star for being”callous and criminal” and putting his daughter’s health and safety at risk, and insisted he should have told her the truth about having STDs on Valentine’s Day, instead of giving her flowers and chocolate.
Brigid previously said she would drop the lawsuit if Jim could prove he didn’t have the infections.
She said in a statement: “If they publicly release and publish the full Quest Diagnostics lab report for the blood sample Carrey gave on Jan. 28, 2013 at 11:40 a.m. under the name Jose Lopez and if it shows Carrey did not test positive for STDs, I will immediately dismiss the case and apologise.
“But if it shows differently, and it will, then Carrey and his attorney must admit they have lied to the media and the public. The public has a right to know when they have been lied to.”

Ciara dropping Future lawsuit

OHMYGOSSIP — Ciara is dropping her defamation lawsuit against Future – because she’s earning too much money.
The 30-year-old singer took legal action against her former fiance – the father of her two-year-old son Future Jr – after he lashed out at her on Twitter, claiming in court documents his disparaging comments “scared away an international cosmetics company she thinks would have paid her $500,000”
However, in order to win a defamation lawsuit, she would have had to prove she has suffered financially, but Ciara is making more money now than when she was Future said she was a “bitch” with “control problems”.
According to TMZ, the ‘Goodies’ singer’s lawyer, Larry Stein, has filed legal documents to drop the libel claim after a judge already dismissed a separate defamation claim.
However, Ciara is still suing future for “false light”, which does not require showing she has lost income but could lead to her being awarded damages if it is deemed the 32-year-old rapper made her look like someone she is not.
In her previous documents, she claimed the angry messages Future wrote about her on social media damaged her “positive reputation” and portrayed her as “controlling, dishonest, malicious, unreasonable, evil, and conniving”.
Future – whose real name is Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn -previously took to twitter to launch a furious rant against Ciara, claiming that she was denying him access to their son.
He wrote: “This bitch got control problems… I gotta go through lawyers to see babyfuture…the f**kery for 15k a month. (sic).”
After claiming that he pays $15,000 in child support every month, Future went on to insist that he just wants to see his son and has run out of patience.
He said: “I jus want babyfuture that’s all. I been silent for a year & a half..I ran outta patience
“Get ready for this classic. Handling my business staying focus making music surrounded by real love & family (sic).”
However, Ciara was said to believe Future – who has four children with four different women – slammed her in order to get publicity and was just annoyed that she has moved on with Russell Wilson, 27, who she married earlier this year.
A source previously said: “Ciara has said that Future uses the situation to promote his music by staying in the press using her name.
“He is jealous she has moved on and is happy. He is unable to move on and co-parent in a healthy way. Future has told her he hopes she fails in everything she does and that’s just being evil.”

Brad Pitt meets with Maddox

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt has met up with his oldest son.
The 52-year-old actor had contact time with his younger five children, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old Knox and Vivienne in a supervised visit at his Los Angeles home last week – the first contact he’d had with them since estranged wife Angelina Jolie obtained temporary custody of their brood – but 15-year-old Maddox was not present.
While it was previously claimed the teenager – who Brad was said to have “got physical with” in a row on a private jet last month that supposedly prompted Angelina to file for divorce – had chosen not to attend the meeting, sources told TMZ a therapist who had met with all the kids had felt Maddox hadn’t been ready to see his father when the other youngsters did.
And on Wednesday (19.10.16), the pair had a contact session with a therapist present.
The news comes after it was revealed Angelina and the children have been questioned by the FBI over the alleged incident onboard the private plane.
‘Entertainment Tonight’ reports the visit was not part of a formal investigation, as officials are still in the “fact-finding” stage to determine whether or not there is enough evidence to warrant an investigation.
A rep said: “[The FBI is] continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued.”
Earlier this month, it was reported that the FBI would not be opening an investigation because “Maddox suffered no injuries and some witnesses on the jet say Brad’s contact with the boy was inadvertent”, and officials claimed the case should never have been referred to them by the Los Angeles Police Department.
However, FBI officials spent three hours in the ‘Maleficent’ star’s Malibu home, asking both Angelina and her children to walk through what happened step-by-step during that day on the plane.
The agents also want to find out what happened after the jet landed in Minnesota, as that would determine whether the incident took place in US air space – which would make it an FBI matter – or if the case should be dealt with by Minnesota authorities.
ET Online also confirmed that Angelina and her children were co-operative with the two FBI agents.
It was previously reported that the ‘By The Sea’ actress didn’t want Brad to be prosecuted for the allegations, and said she wouldn’t co-operate if a case against the ‘Fury’ star was made.

Bruce Springsteen finds therapy useful

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Springsteen finds having therapy “useful”.
The ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ hitmaker has spoken openly about his long battle with depression and has admitted his regular sessions with a counsellor have been incredibly helpful.
Asked if he thinks his openness will encourage others to seek help, he joked: “I would advise everyone to immediately run to the nearest psychologist, everyone could use a little help.”
He then more seriously added: “I’ve been having it for 30 years, the first guy died on me, I’ve got another guy now, but I’ve found it to be useful.”
The 67-year-old singer has been promoting his autobiography, ‘Born to Run’, and has been touched by the number of fans he’s met at book signings who have shared their stories of how his music has helped them through tough points in their lives.
Speaking in his first radio interview since 2009, he told BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo: “One of things I’ve heard recently, because I’ve met my fans one by one at the book signings, and one of the common things people say is, ‘You helped through this particular time or that particular time’.
“It’s one of the things that music does well. It can support you when times get hard, it’s just fundamentally uplifting, it is one of the things music can do.”
Bruce – who has three children with wife Patti Scialfa – is famous for his lengthy concerts and still enjoys performing life.
And the veteran rocker insists he never gets tired of his most famous songs as experiencing them through his fans’ ears keep them fresh.
He said: “I enjoy it, a good song has open arms and it takes in the years and your new audience.
“When you come out at night, if you have one foot on stage and one in the crowd you get to hear it anew through their ears.
“I can look down and see someone who is hearing it for the first time, and it refreshes it for me, I still enjoy it.”

CCTV footage surfaces of Kim Kardashian West's robbers

OHMYGOSSIP — CCTV footage of Kim Kardashian West’s alleged armed robbers has surfaced online.
The 35-year-old beauty suffered a terrifying ordeal earlier this month when she was tied up and locked in the bathroom of her Paris suite by gun-wielding men posing as policeman, and now France’s M6 news have obtained security camera clips of the group seemingly entering and exiting the building.
The blurry footage shows three men on bikes and two on foot approaching the Hôtel de Pourtalès at around 2:29 a.m. local time on October 3, and the time stamp indicates they left around 49 minutes later, with one of the group carrying a backpack.
According to M6 news, Paris police haven’t yet indicated whether they have any leads on the culprits, who stole millions of dollars worth of jewellery and two cell phones from Kim’s apartment.
The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star – who has children North, three, and Saint, 10 months, with husband Kanye West – isn’t doing very well following the robbery, according to her sister Kourtney Kardashian.
She recently shared: “She’s not doing great. I think we’re all really still shaken up and I just – you know, I think she has a big supportive family and I know that all the traumatic things that we’ve been through, we get through them together as a family. And that’s what family’s all about.”
And Khloe Kardashian has also opened up about the “incredibly traumatic” experience but says the family is rallying round to support her.
She added: “She’s not doing that well. It’s incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super close and great and we’ll get through it together. We do appreciate all of your guys’ love and support. It will take time. It was horrible what happened to her.”

Busted's weird fanmail

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted’s Charlie Simpson was once sent pubic hair by a fan.
The ‘What I Go To School For’ hitmaker was less than impressed with the grim gift he was received from one of his loyal supporters.
He said: “I got sent pubic hair taped to a card, which was just bizarre. As if I was going to open it and think, ‘You’ve found a way to my heart.'”
The band – which also includes James Bourne and Matt Willis – first rose to fame in the early noughties when social media didn’t exist but they like that sites such as Facebook and Twitter have brought them closer to their fans.
They said: “None of that was around when we first started out, YouTube, Facebook … [Now] it’s a completely different environment to be a musician in.
“There’s so many great elements to it – you get to be much closer to your fans. But I think there’s more pressure as well, because you always have to be watching that you don’t say something stupid.”
However, the group admit there is one thing they regret from the noughties – their haircuts.
James said: “I really regret my haircuts.”
Whilst Matt added: “I would like to second that, I’ve had some shockers in my time. Why did [I] think that looking like a skunk was a good idea?”
Meanwhile, the ‘Year 3000’ hitmakers think they would be rejected if they ever appeared on a talent show like ‘The X Factor’ nowadays.
Speaking to BUILD Series LDN, Matt shared: “I think that if I auditioned for the X Factor, I wouldn’t get through the first round. I think they would laugh in my face and send me out of the room.
“I think there is a ton of kids in this country just like that, who wouldn’t get through the first round, that would have a huge career in the music business if they went down a different road.”

Ellen DeGeneres: My LA home is my 'sanctuary'

OHMYGOSSIP — Ellen DeGeneres’ Los Angeles home is her “sanctuary”.
The 58-year-old talk show host enjoys taking time away from the spotlight with her wife Portia de Rossi at their home in California.
She said: “That’s our sanctuary. When we’re there, we hike a lot and she has horses that she rides …
“Portia and I have this joke that if we’re lying in bed and quiet for a little while, I’ll say, ‘What are you thinking about?’ And she says, ‘Horses.’ And she says, ‘What are you thinking about?’ And I go, ‘Houses.’ Literally, any time of day, horses and houses.”
And Ellen also gave an insight into what she and Portia like to do on a rare day off.
She added to People magazine: “Portia and I usually wake up around 6:30 or 7 a.m., drink coffee in bed and watch one of the morning shows.
“Then just reading, or she likes to do jigsaw puzzles. And we like walking about our property and hanging out with our dogs and just looking at the ocean. You know, relaxing.”
Meanwhile, Ellen previously admitted she “can’t imagine” not being married to Portia.
She said: “There’s no best part [about being married]. It’s everything. I can’t imagine not being married. I have my best friend, the person I want to spend time with more than anybody else in the world.
“Portia and I constantly say to each other, ‘We are so lucky.’ Sometimes it’s lying in bed at night before I go to sleep, and I just say thank you to whatever, whoever is out there. Our priorities are each other too. If we had kids, then I’m sure they would be, but we are. And that’s important.”

Selma Blair blames flight outburst on 'psychotic blackout'

OHMYGOSSIP — Selma Blair has revealed a “psychotic blackout” was to blame for her mid-flight outburst.
Earlier this year, the 44-year-old actress had to be removed from the aircraft after her flight from Mexico to Los Angeles following a bizarre outburst, which she says was caused by mixing her prescribed medication with alcohol.
Speaking to Sharon Osbourne on US chat show The Talk, she said: “I am someone who should never drink, and I rarely do, and I don’t drink anymore, but I was going through something. I had a glass of wine and someone gave me a pill that I thought was something that I’d taken before … it was something completely different … and I had a total psychotic blackout.”
The ‘Anger Management’ star – who has five-year-old son Arthur with her ex-partner Jason Bleick – admits that the incident was “out of character” for her and she regrets taking a pill she was given by unnamed person.
She said: “I had empathy for myself because it was so out of character for me especially now that I’m a mother. I was taken to a clinic to get an IV and get an assessment … my son was with his father and he had slept through it … I knew he was going to sleep so that’s why I took this pill … [but] bad choice all around – I totally own it.”
Selma previously admitted she was “filled with shame” following the incident, in which she allegedly screamed, “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink … He’s going to kill me” in front of other passengers in the First Class section of the plane.
At the time, she said: “I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.
“My son was with his dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace. I take this very seriously, and I apologise to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”

Kerry Washington wants one more child

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Washington wants another child.
The ‘Scandal’ star only welcomed her second child into the world on October 5 but is already keen to add to her brood.
A source said: “Kerry is very tired mainly from lack of sleep. She has taken some time off of her daily grind to relax and spend time with her children and family.
“They are doing very good as a couple. They would like to have one more child.”
And the 39-year-old actress – who has newborn son Caleb and two-year-old daughter Isabelle with her husband Nnamdi Asomugha – is hoping to ditch her baby weight quickly like she did in 2014.
An insider added to E! News: “She has a trainer and eats really healthy. She is confident she will lose her baby weight quick like she did her first baby.”
Meanwhile, Kerry previously revealed she has been getting parenting advice from Shonda Rhimes and her therapist.
Speaking before the baby arrived, she shared: “I’ve really leaned heavily on my boss’ experience. I consider myself busy, but Shonda has about four of five shows, three kids … She says, ‘If you feel like you have just the right amount of help, then you don’t have enough.’ My therapist said this too. You need a lot of support. No just logistically but emotionally and spiritually.
“I’m an only [child] so every time the family grows it brings up a little bit of anxiety. But it’s fantastic. I’m really happy. We don’t know [the gender], yeah. I’m open – honestly, healthy, happy baby – that’s what we want. We’re all really excited. We’ll see how it all plays out. I’m an only child, so I’m like, ‘What’s this going to be like?’ But I think it’s going to be great.”

Alicia Keys: Meditating has made me a better mother

OHMYGOSSIP — Alicia Keys says meditating has given her a “whole new perspective”.
The ‘If I Ain’t Got You’ hitmaker tries to fit in some time to relax each day whether it’s for an hour or just a few minutes as she feels it makes her more “sturdy” as a person.
She said: “It definitely has given me a whole new perspective. I’m overly accommodating, like sickeningly so. I’m becoming better at that …
“Some days I have 15 minutes, some days I have 40 minutes, some days I have five minutes where I have to take that time, because if I don’t I literally feel off. And I can tell the difference in the choices that I’m making … my centre is off. I feel shaken a bit more, but when I do it I feel sturdy.”
And whilst the 35-year-old singer – who has Egypt, six, and 21-month-old Genesis, with her husband Swizz Beatz – tried and failed to make time for meditating before, she realises there is more of a reason now because she is a mother to two wonderful sons.
Speaking onstage at Brooklyn’s WME’s Together conference, she added: “I needed to clear the negative space, the negative people in my space … which probably should’ve happened years ago. But now, there’s even more of a reason. My purpose is so much bigger, it’s so much bigger than me …
“It’s been really important for me. I started time and time [again], tried it, fell asleep. But now it’s a need. It’s a yearning, a desire.”
Meanwhile, Alicia previously revealed she “respected herself for the first time” when she became a mother.
She said: “I think that was the biggest change for me when I had my first son. I really kind of respected myself for the first time. I know that might sound weird, but I feel like in a lot of ways I did.”

Benedict Cumberbatch taught English to monks

OHMYGOSSIP — Benedict Cumberbatch once taught English to Buddhist monks.
The 40-year-old actor spent a year in Nepal at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery working with the religious men to help them speak his mother tongue.
Benedict loved the experience as after his lessons he would go hiking with his friends see the beautiful sights the South Asian country had to offer and he used the time to explore philosophical ideas such as the nature of being.
He said: “I used to teach monks in the morning … When I was at the monastery I read Fritjof Capra’s book ‘The Tao of Physics’. The thing about it is even if we can explain everything, the explanations are wonderful. I’m not rational at all. I hit walls trying to understand things in the universe. Things on a molecular level, or circadian rhythms. Those are fascinating, they’re hard-wired into us. Every form of life has a circadian rhythm, from a cellular fungus to a human, to regulate our body clock. I think there’s a spirituality in science, there’s wonder in logic, and the world just gets bizarre the more you think about it.”
Benedict’s spiritually enriching trip to Nepal wasn’t without it’s dangers though.
The ‘Sherlock’ star got lost in the mountains during a hike with pals one weekend and they had to survive in the wilderness by drinking rainwater squeezed out of moss which resulted in him contracting dysentery – a severe type of gastroenteritis.
Speaking to ShortList magazine, he recalled: “We drank rainwater squeezed out of moss, we got altitude sickness, I had dysentery.”
It is his interest in seeking out answers to some of life’s most deep and difficult questions that attracted him to playing Doctor Strange in the upcoming Marvel movie of the same name.
The character Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange is an badly injured neurosurgeon who learns the mystical arts to become the Sorcerer Supreme, the protector of Earth, and was conceived in the 1960s at the height of the hippy moment and drug experimentation.
Benedict has always been fascinated by the 60s and admits he thinks it’s a shame society doesn’t still value some of the principles promoted in that decade.
He said: “I was intrigued by all of this. The experimental drugs, cults, psychedelics, spiritualism. Back then, people used those ideas to explore stuff they didn’t understand. It was a form of bargaining. Now we know a lot more.”

Cassandra Jenner Marino delivered her and her husband Michael Marino’s third child on Tuesday (18.10.16), and took to her private Instagram account to share the news with those she allows to follow her.
In one post, the 36-year-old beauty wrote: “He made it! One day before his due date and on Mike’s dad’s birthday. 8lb 13oz 22 inches long. I am elated and exhausted but a super happy non-pregnant mama :). (sic)”
She also posted another photo of her two daughters Isabella and Francesca getting a first look at their new baby brother, whose name has not yet been announced.
The photo was captioned: “Proud big sisters. They are over the MOON (sic)”
Cassandra – who is Caitlyn’s daughter from her first marriage to Chrystie Crownover – previously admitted she’s grown closer to Caitlyn since her transition last year.
She said: “My relationship with Caitlyn is much better than with Bruce, but we still have a lot of work to do. We didn’t talk for years, and now we see each other every couple of weeks and talk on the phone, which I am grateful for.
“She’s happier and more appreciative of her family. She is trying harder, and there is a softness to Caitlyn that is new to me. I think part of that is that when someone is happier, they are just nicer.”
For Caitlyn, 66, the birth of Cassandra’s son marks the second of her grandchildren to be born this year after 37-year-old Burt – who she also has from her marriage to Chrystie – welcomed a baby boy named Bodhi is July.

Dita Von Teese urges people to be more aware of HIV

OHMYGOSSIP — Dita Von Teese wants people to be aware of the “staggering statistics” of people suffering with HIV and AIDS.
The 44-year-old burlesque dancer has been working closely with amfAR – the Foundation for AIDS Research – for their ‘The Time Is Now’ project, in which she leant her voice to the Boy George hit ‘Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?’ alongside singer-songwriter Sebastian Tellier.
She said of her work with amfAR: “During my two years of service with [amfAR], I learned a lot about the staggering statistics of young people becoming infected with HIV. It’s an important cause to me because I think that there are more and more young people that aren’t concerned about this disease, while the facts show that we should be.”
The project is a compilation album of 1980s hits, which was created to benefit the foundation and its research. The 14 track album includes performances from artists such as DNCE, Phantogram, and even Scarlett Johansson under her band Sugar for Sugar.
Whilst Dita is quick to claim she’s “not a singer”, she says she still wanted to to get involved with the project because she wants “to be of service” to the foundation.
She said: “I am not a singer by any means, in fact, it puts me way out of my comfort zone, which is another reason I like doing it I suppose. I think somewhere along the way someone told me I couldn’t sing, so it’s kind of fun for me to do it when an artist I respect as much as Sebastien believes in me and asks me to do it. And, of course I find it hard to deny amfAR anything they ask of me because I want to be of service however I can.”
And despite being apprehensive about the song choice, Dita says she received a “very kind compliment” from Boy George himself when he heard the track.
She told Galore Magazine: “The only way to cover such an iconic song with a voice as beautiful as Boy George’s is to do something very different. I think it would be ridiculous for just about anyone to try to re-sing that song, so I just talked my way through it! While I was doing it I kept thinking, ‘Oh gosh, please don’t let Boy George ever hear this…!’ But he did and gave me a very kind compliment on it.”
amfAR’s album ‘The Time Is Now’ is available now.

Jaden Smith makes TIME's 30 Most Influential Teens of 2016

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner, Jaden Smith and Zara Larsson have made the 30 Most Influential Teens of 2016 list.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star was once again featured on TIME magazine’s annual list for her “willingness to experiment with outsize looks – plumping her lips, dying her hair and using bright makeup in bold combinations” whilst Jaden has been honoured for “rebelling against mainstream culture”.
‘Lush Life’ hitmaker Zara has made the list for the first time and has been dubbed “one of the most promising talents in pop music” whilst Shawn Mendes also gets a nod for “conquering singles charts” across the world.
Elsewhere on the list, Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello has been featured for her hit music and her activism, notably when she recently penned an essay about her experience when she arrived to the United States in the 2000s as an immigrant.
In the essay, she wrote: “This country was built on immigrants. People who were brave enough … to leave behind everything we know in hopes of finding something better. And so next time, when anybody wants to tell you they want to build a ‘wall’ on our border, remember behind that wall is struggle, determination, hunger. Behind that wall could be the next cure for cancer.”
Chloe Grace Moretz certainly isn’t afraid of voicing her own opinion, which is no doubt how she secured herself a slot on the list after she slammed Kim Kardashian West for her nude selfie.
She said previously: “Being the most opinionated and loud person in the room is not always the most impactful. Sometimes the smartest way to get into the psyche of people is to … let everyone else bicker and throw their words around and then you come in with the quiet voice and that will be the most impactful.”
