OHMYGOSSIP — Pierce Brosnan has joined a campaign to save the whales.
The ‘Mamma Mia’ star and his wife Keely have put their voice to a campaign which aims to stop Japan from conducting its “so-called ‘scientific research’ whaling program”, where they kill “more than 15,000 whales under the guise of science”.
He said: “We are passionate about efforts to protect our planet’s great whales and their ocean habitat. Although many people think we saved the whales in the 1970s, surprisingly, whales face more threats today than ever before. Therefore, there is a genuine sense of urgency needed in the ongoing fight to protect these magnificent creatures, as well as a renewed sense of optimism …
“This is the first IWC meeting since Japan restarted its so-called ‘scientific research’ whaling program in the Antarctic, after the U.N. International Court of Justice found it illegal. Since the moratorium, Japan has exploited a loophole to kill more than 15,000 whales under the guise of science. The IWC adopted 22 resolutions over the years calling on Japan to halt or restrict its ‘scientific whaling research.'”
The 63-year-old actor has urged the public to use their “power” to put an end to whaling.
In an essay penned for TIME magazine, they continued: “As you may know, the lives of whales (and countless other species) are threatened by the choices that we as humans have made and continue to make as we expand our footprint across the earth. Rogue commercial whaling, noise pollution, chemical pollution, marine debris, ship strikes, climate change, ocean acidification and entanglement in fishing gear are all leading to the demise of these leviathans.
“Therefore, it is more important than ever before that the IWC champions cetacean conservation. The commission must maintain its strong support for the global moratorium on commercial whaling and oppose any efforts to undermine it. And it must call on Japan, Iceland and Norway to end all commercial and ‘scientific research’ whaling indefinitely.
“We are all forces of nature – the catalysts and agents of change, the architects and engineers of a new tomorrow. We shape and create our reality every moment of every day, and like no species before we have the power to define our future.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristin Cavallari is “proud of the way” she has raised her children.
The ‘Hills’ star – who has Camden, four, Jaxon, two, and Saylor, 11 months, with her husband Jay Cutler – says she is “very comfortable” with motherhood.
She explained: “I’m very comfortable with being a mom, and I’m proud of the way that we’ve raised our kids.
“I’ve done a few controversial things apparently, but I’m so confident in my decisions and my kids are happy and healthy, and that’s all I care about.”
However, there is one thing she isn’t proud of – her two-year-old son Jaxon already being able to swear.
She shared: “I’m not proud of this, but my middle child, Jaxon, has been swearing.
“And I’m like, ‘Where does he get that? … Oh yeah, that’s me, I’m the culprit.’ He’s a little me. And he’s tough. He’s very tough, stubborn, like, he’s going to get his way. That’s also me.”
The 29-year-old television personality also revealed her daughter has learned how to feed the dog and is making quite a mess in the process.
She said: “Right now she’s feeding herself. She sits in her highchair and she just discovered that she can feed the dog. So she literally takes her food and she throws it on the ground, and we’ll be like, ‘Saylor, no.’
“And she just starts laughing. She makes the biggest mess – it’s all over her, it’s all over her hands, all over her outfit, and all over the floor. Thank God we have the dogs for the floor, but I just take Bounty paper towels and I just wipe her down, head to toe, and we’re good.”
Meanwhile, Kristin’s one wish for her children is that they are happy.
She told People magazine: “It’s corny, but I just want them to be happy. I’m sure every parent says that, but it’s true. I just want my kids to have a happy life and be comfortable in their own skin, and go out there and do whatever it is that they want.”

The ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmaker has spoken of his sadness on hearing about the death of the ‘Dead or Alive’ singer, who tragically passed away on Sunday (23.10.16) at the age of 57 after suffering a “massive cardiac arrest”.
He wrote: “Tearful about the passing of @PeteBurnsICON he was one of our great true eccentrics and such a big part of my life! Wow. Hard to believe! (sic)”
Whilst Sinitta added: “Rest in Peace @PeteBurnsICON we had some laughs and some tears over the years .you were a sensitive soul and will be missed x (sic)”
‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemates past and present have also taken to social media to post tributes to the singer/songwriter, who appeared on the show in 2006.
George Galloway wrote: “Sad to hear of the demise of Pete Burns. He was a cross between Oscar Wilde and Dorothy Parker. You don’t get more brilliant than that. RIP.”
Samuel Preston added: “Heartbroken to hear about Pete Burns. He was a true punk rocker and one of the kindest hearts I’ve ever know. Gutted.”

The ‘You Spin Me Round’ hitmaker’s death was confirmed by his manager.
In a statement released via social media on Monday (24.10.16), he said: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead Or Alive), died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest. All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger “got back to her authentic self” following her split from Lewis Hamilton.
The former Pussycat Dolls star enjoyed learning about herself again after she split from the Formula One racing driver.
She told Glamour magazine: “I got back to my authentic self. It was, oh, this is what I like and this is what makes me laugh and what makes me dance and feel free. It was a transformative, healing time.
“It’s so important as women, whether we’re in relationships or not, that we nurture ourselves. You have stronger relationships when you’re strong within. When you’re not looking for somebody else to fulfil you.”
Meanwhile, the 38-year-old singer – who is now happily dating tennis player Grigor Dimitrov – previously insisted she isn’t feeling broody because she has such a big family.
When asked if she feels broody, she said: “No because I literally have the biggest family in Hawaii and they’re popping out kids every day. For me, all that will come in its own time …
“I feel like God put me on this earth to create something really great and to share whatever gifts he’s given me, whether that’s music or helping people. I feel I have to be smart and take my time with my next project and my music, because it’s got to speak and stand the test of time. But I can’t wait to get married and have kids, it’ll be awesome.”
Nicole likes to keep her personal life private but recently revealed she is very happy with Grigor.
She said: “We’ve been together for quite some time now so I’m just living in the moment and I’m happy.”
However, Nicole only knows too well how relationships can “suffer” as a result of her work.
She added: “I have missed out on a normal life, because it is a sacrifice when you put your heart, your time and everything into a job. Relationships suffer.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May has been forced to cancel his 2016 tour dates after battling with a “persistent illness”.
The Queen guitarist was due to perform a series of concerts across the UK in December with singer Kerry Ellis but has been forced to postpone them as the illness has been “destroying his energy and his will”.
He wrote on his official website: “We’re very sad today to announce the indefinite postponement of our ‘candlelight’ concert dates this coming December. This is a decision I’ve agonised over, but in the end it has become inevitable.
“I managed to complete the recent Queen and Adam Lambert dates in Asia but I have been increasingly battling with a persistent illness which is destroying my energy and my will. I am now at the point where I don’t feel confident to perform the scheduled shows to the standard we all expect.
“I’ve been strongly advised to rest and heal, rather than go out and risk ‘falling down on the job’ out there, which would be a real tragedy. I’m convinced it’s much better taking the step to cancel the dates now, refunding the fans for the ticket sales, and giving all our team a chance to re-plan their time in December. Sincere apologies to all.”
And Kerry also expressed her disappointment at the postponement but knows Brian’s health “must come first”.
In a statement, she shared: “Brian is a dear friend of mine and obviously his health must come first. I was so looking forward to touring the UK again with Brian. I know so many of you had bought tickets for an early Christmas treat, and I am truly sorry that we are letting so many of you down. But we will be back next year for sure, with new music for you all to hear.”

The ‘You Spin Me Round’ hitmaker tragically passed away on Sunday (23.10.16) after suffering a “massive cardiac arrest”.
His manager said in a post: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead Or Alive), died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest. All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with.

The singer/songwriter founded the band Dead or Alive in 1980 and went on to achieve pop success with ‘You Spin Me Round’, a track he worked on alongside the famous music trio Stock, Aitken and Waterman.
In his later years, he was known for appearing on various reality shows including ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
Pete had a number of cosmetic surgery procedures throughout his life and recently admitted he “lost count” of how many times he had gone under the knife.
He said: “The number of surgeries I’ve has is probably 300. I hope when I’m 80 and I get to heaven God doesn’t recognise me.”
And Pete says his obsession with looking good started when he achieved chart success.
He said: “I realised I was going to be a visual entity and that I had to look good. I had a broken nose. In the punk days somebody head butted me in Liverpool and it went over to one side.
“When you’re young, self-conscious and standing in front of a camera and the photographers are whispering, ‘Can we turn his head to the left?’ you think, ‘I’ll do something about it.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cheryl’s Instagram account has been hacked.
The 33-year-old singer’s page on the photo-sharing site was swamped with obscure images of satanic pictures with captions filled with expletives slamming her boyfriend Liam Payne on Monday (24.10.16).
Alongside an image of a white cross rotated upside down, which has since been removed from her account, was captioned: “666 f*** Liam Payne (sic).”
This upload was followed by a screenshot of a Twitter bio belonging to a member of the Cyber Wolf Gang and a post hailing the devil.
Alongside a picture of a ‘666’ cross read: “HAIL SATAN 666 B***H THATS WHAT WE DO (sic).”
This news comes a few days after the former Girls Aloud band member finalised her divorce from her ex-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 14 seconds on Thursday (20.10.16), who ended their 19-month marriage in August last year.
Speaking previously about the former ‘The X Factor’ judge’s divorce, a representative said: “Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini have today obtained Decree Nisi in their divorce proceedings. No further comment will be made and they ask for their privacy to be respected.”
The ‘Fight For This Love’ hitmaker is set to retain her £20m fortune as part of their divorce settlement, which was confirmed by the Central Family Court in London earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Cheryl and the 23-year-old One Direction band member – who met on the talent show in 2008 when Liam was a contestant on the shows fifth season – are rumoured to be expecting their first child together, although they have yet to comment on the speculation.
And the brunette beauty is in brighter spirits now she is “finally” be able to move on with her life with the musician following her divorce.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price attended her sister’s graduation with the ex-husband of her love rival Jane Pountney on Monday (24.10.16).
The 38-year-old former glamour model couldn’t help but beam with pride as she watched her younger sibling Sophie pick up her degree in history from her university but, although it was a day of celebration, there was no doubt some tension in the air as Derrick Pountney was invited along to the special event and rubbed shoulders with her spouse Kieran Hayler, two years after the handsome builder was caught having sex with businessman’s former wife of 10 years.
Taking to her Instagram account, the blonde bombshell uploaded a photograph of herself and Derrick, who was married to Katie’s ex-best friend Jane for 16 years until her infidelity was revealed, beaming down the camera.
She captioned the picture: “My and d Besty Derrick Pountney (sic)”
However, despite the presumably awkwardness between Derrick and Kieran at the event, Katie didn’t let the animosity ruin her sister’s special day and continued to upload videos and pictures of Sophie collecting her degree, along with images of herself and various family members including her parents and aunt.
Alongside a photo of Sophie, she wrote: “My clever geeky sister @sophie_pricey she has got her degree in History #brainy #geek (sic),” followed by four graduation hats and a heart emoji.
Katie was left heartbroken in 2014 when she found out Kieran, whom she’d only been married to for less than a year at the time, had been having an affair with her close friend Jane, who was her bridesmaid, for 10 months behind her back.
The former ‘Loose Women’ panelist revealed her spouse’s deceitful behaviour on her Twitter account, but Derrick – who has a son and a daughter with Jane – initially claimed the situation had been blown out of proportion.
He said at the time: “We are good friends of Katie and Kieran’s and have been good friends of Katie for a good 20 years. A lot of this drama has been a storm in a teacup and there’s a lot of misunderstandings to sort out. This ‘affair’ has not really happened like it has been portrayed. I’ve known about it for about four weeks myself.”
However, Derrick later had a change of heart and filed for divorce from Jane after he learnt the extent of her affair.
Katie, who was pregnant with the couple’s second child Bunny at the time, decided to give Kieran – whom she married in 2013 – another chance after she caught him out and stood by him while he was treated for sex addiction.
She said: “He wasn’t allowed [sex] for ages, because of the therapy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shailene Woodley will stand trial on January 25 2017.
The 24-year-old actress was arrested and charged for one count of criminal trespassing and one count of engaging in a riot, after peacefully protesting about the Dakota Access Pipeline on October 10, and though she was initially expected to be in court on Monday (24.10.16), it has now been revealed she won’t have to appear before a North Dakota judge until the new year.
Shailene – who was one of 27 protesters arrested – pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanour offences last week but if she is found guilty in state court in Mandan in January, she could face two months in jail and $3,000 in fines.
The ‘Divergent’ star was among around 100 protesters who turned up to the site to air their views against the proposed pipeline plans, which aims to transport crude oil from the North Dakota Bakken region through South Dakota and Iowa into Illinois, crossing the Missouri River.
Protesters fear the pipeline project could potentially cause irreversible harm to the drinking water for the Standing Rock community – who live just one mile from the river – as well as the river’s ecosystem.
It seems her actions have not gone unnoticed either, as it was recently revealed the Department of Justice has halted the pipeline project and ordered the development company to suspend all construction work.
The ‘Snowden’ actress previously said: “That is beautiful, but that is not a win. A win is when they say ‘We are not moving this pipeline to some other location, to affect clean water, but we are going to stop it and fix it.'”
The ‘Descendants’ actress – who streamed the protest and her subsequent arrest on a Facebook Live chat – originally claimed she was being arrested because of her fame.
She said in the video: “I’m being arrested! I was down there with everybody else! I don’t know what’s going on, as soon as they came I left. It’s because I’m well known, it’s because I have 40,000 people watching.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Meryl Streep wants to play Hillary Clinton in a movie.
The 67-year-old actress was “very flattered” to learn the Democratic presidential hopeful named her as the person she’d like to see cast in her biopic, but admitted she doesn’t think the film would happen for a long time as she expects her to get into the White House when the election takes place next month.
She said: “I’m very flattered to hear that [Hillary wants me in a biopic] but I’ll have to wait for that role. All her great achievements are ahead of her.
“This election cannot come soon enough. We’ve been very burdened by it.”
Meryl has previously shown off her vocal skills in ‘Into the Woods’ and ‘Mama Mia!’ and admitted she harbours a secret ambition to be a singer.
Speaking at a press conference at the 2016 Tokyo International Film Festival, she said: “I would still like to be a singer. I’m not very good. But I keep trying.”
In her latest film, ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’, the Oscar-winning actress portrays an heiress with a dream of being an opera diva, despite not being a particularly good singer, and Meryl had fun with learning the songs properly – and then “screwing around” with the tracks.
She said: “I did try to learn how to sing these arias properly. I had a great opera coach who taught me properly. Then for the last two weeks, how shall I put it, we screwed around with them.”
Meryl thinks movies such as ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’ and ‘Mamma Mia!’ proves Hollywood is changing as there are increasingly more good roles available for older women.
However, she does still think “ageism” is a problem.
She said: “I don’t think there’s ever been a film in American film history that had as its leading person a 70-year-old character. So I was playing someone much older than myself. And somehow, I pulled it off.
“Yes, I think there has been ageism and all these so-called market-driven decisions. But I was 58 when I made ‘Mamma Mia!’ and that was the most popular film I’ve ever made!
“So I do think all these rules are being broken – and thank goodness! I think a lot of it is the fact that there are a lot more opportunities driven by television, especially the long-form narrative and serial television that we have now. It has been very good for women and proves that there has been an audience.”

OHMYGOSSIP — James Corden was “terrified” singing in front of Justin Timberlake.
The 38-year-old talk show host voices Biggie in the animated adventure and though he enjoyed laying down vocals for the soundtrack, he was wary about getting in the studio in front of the ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ hitmaker, who served as musical producer on the film, as well as voicing grumpy troll Branch,
James told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I spent like half a day doing singing which is always quite, you know, terrifying if you’re me and it’s him, but I think I got away with it.
“I think it was fun. I certainly loved it.”
James often shows off his singing talents on the ‘Carpool Karaoke’ segment of his ‘Late Late Show’, but he insists that’s different to making a record.
He said: “Not in a studio, not like actually singing like it matters.”
The British star’s next guest on the show will be Lady Gaga, and having recently recorded their segment, he teased viewers are in for a surprise.
He said: “Something happens in that Carpool that’s never happened before.”
Gaga revealed earlier this month she had joined the likes of Sir Elton John, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Adele, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani in singing her greatest hits on ‘Carpool Karaoke’.
She took to Twitter and Instagram to share a picture of herself and the host wearing matching pink cowboy hats and wrote: “Had a lil fun with @JKCorden today!”
James – who has two children, son Max, five, and 23-month-old daughter Carey, with his wife Julia – recently admitted he worries about having enough time to fulfill all his goals.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lily Collins is penning a memoir.
The 27-year-old beauty is to have personal essays covering subjects including being the daughter of famous musician Phil Collins, dating, and body image published in a revealing book entitled ‘Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me’.
Of sharing such details with the public, she said: “It’s definitely like having my diary published.”
The ‘Mirror Mirror’ actress was inspired to write the tome by director Warren Beatty and her role in ‘Rules Don’t Apply’ as devout baptist Marla Mabrey, which sees her character overcome “intense” situations.
She explained: “I was put into many situations throughout the years in acting, in Warren’s film especially, where you’re in an intense situation and you have to fight your way through it, go through the emotions, and live and breath those scenes.”
Lily was previously romantically linked to her co-stars in both ‘The Mortal Instruments’ and ‘Abduction’, Jamie Campbell Bower and Taylor Lautner, and while she won’t be name-dropping any ex-boyfriends, she will open up about what she has learnt from past relationships.
She told People magazine: “It was not about attacking, it was about showing how you can be given situations in life and turn them into lessons.
It takes knowing what you don’t want to know what you do want.”
Lily is also writing the book in the hope of inspiring other young women who share their lives on social media.
She said: “This is my way to open up conversation with young women and say, ‘Hey, we’re all the same.’
“They’re so open and honest and inspiring about their stories. It really encouraged me to be brave like them.”
The announcement comes hot off the heels of Phil, 65, launching his own autobiography, ‘Not Dead Yet’, in which he candidly talks about his battle with alcohol addiction and the ups and downs of his career spanning 60 years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Spelling is loving “every minute” of being pregnant.
The 43-year-old actress was shocked to learn she and husband Dean McDermott – the father of her other kids, Liam, nine, Stella, eight, Hattie, five, and Finn, four – were expecting their fifth child, but so far everything is going well and she is having an “amazing experience”.
She said: “I never thought I’d be pregnant again! It’s a very welcome surprise.
“I said before my pregnancy with Finn that I love being pregnant and it was such an amazing experience and this one has not let me down! It’s been great. I have energy and I feel like I’m loving every minute of it.”
The former ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star suffered placenta praevia while she was pregnant with Finn, causing problems with delivery as the condition means the neck of the uterus is blocked by the placenta, and she is relieved to have been told by her doctors that she won’t experience the same issues this time round.
She told People magazine: “I’m totally healthy and safe. I am 100 percent healthy!
“The condition I had with my last pregnancy, the baby and I got checked out when we first found out and not only does it not exist but it cannot exist. So we are going to have a happy and healthy pregnancy together!”
Tori has been craving doughnuts but isn’t too worried about gaining weight as looking after four children keeps her in shape.
She said: “I am not working out at all. I always say this, I have four kids and it’s the biggest work out of anyone’s life!
“I literally am up at 6am with the kids, I do not do my thing and settle in bed until nine at night. Literally I don’t sit down.”
The star has also confessed that she may find out the sex of her unborn child after undergoing a family vote.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “We did find out with the first two, didn’t find out with the second two – huge, amazing surprises. The kids are old enough now they kind of want to find out, you know. We’ve taken a family vote so at some point we might find out but not yet.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Arnold Schwarzengger wishes he could have run for the US presidency.
The ‘Terminator’ actor – who was governor of California for eight years until 2011 – is unable to contest for the position because he was born in Austria but thinks it would have been the right time to campaign for the Republican candidacy if he’d been able to.
Arnold – who recently revealed he won’t be voting for Republican Donald Trump, who is contesting for the Commander-in-Chief’s role with Democrat Hillary Clinton – told Adweek magazine: “If I’d been born in America, I would’ve run.
“Because now? This was a very good time to get in the race.”
But the 69-year-old star admitted he doesn’t “love” politics.
He added: “I didn’t love politics, but I love policy.”
The former Mr. Universe credits his bodybuilding days for teaching him how to be memorable.
He said: “I realised early on in bodybuilding that you have to be able to sell yourself, your ideas, your position to the public.
“You have to set yourself apart, whether it’s policy or movies. How do you make them remember you?”
And after seeing early bodybuilding photos of Reg Park, who went on to star as Hercules, Arnold’s early vision was established.
He recalled: “I thought, ‘Maybe that’s something I can copy.’ I had a clear vision of standing on a pedestal like him, and I never doubted it.”
Arnold is happy to have returned to acting since leaving office, but has no idea what the future holds.
Discussing his next project, he said: “It has to sound appealing to me, it has to be challenging, it has to be something I can get consumed in.
“It’s fun to climb the mountain rather than sit at the top.”

The 34-year-old pop megastar was performing at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on as part of her ‘Piece of Me’ residency on Saturday night (22.10.16) when her skimpy bra top came undone.
The star was performing ‘I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll’ – a cover of the Joan Jett & The Blackhearts anthem – when she was left clutching her chest in order to maintain her modesty whilst her professional dancers rushed to help re-fasten the clothing.
It wasn’t the only time the small piece of clothing failed to cover the blonde beauty either, as a later malfunction saw a male dancer have to give her his shirt during her rendition of hit single ‘Gimme More’ so she could cover herself up.
The ‘Oops I Did It Again’ hitmaker didn’t let the costume issues get to her though, as she powered on through the show, and continued with her dance routines even when she was attempting to re-fasten her top.
And the star has been taking it all in her stride and having fun with her live shows, as she recently revealed she is enjoying her 30s much more than the previous decade of her life.
She said: “I like my 30s way more than my 20s, my 20s were horrible. [Being] In my teens was fun but I like 30s, the 30s are great. You know who you really are.”
But although Britney – who has sons Sean, 11, and Jayden, 10, with ex-husband Kevin Federline – has managed to find contentment and success in her life she hasn’t been able to find a man to settle down with.
The singer has been single since separating from film and TV producer Charlie Ebersol in June 2015 but she isn’t worried about being single and is sure love will come into her life when the time is right.
She said: “I’m in a really good place right now so I think, I’m just, I’m loving [myself] and learning about myself every day and learning [about] who I am so it’s just, it’s awakening, it’s cool. It’s OK to be single, yeah, it totally is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Cliff Richard has reassured Sir Rod Stewart he doesn’t need his help in paying his legal fees.
The ‘Devil Woman’ hitmaker – who was subject to a 22-month long investigation after four sex abuse allegations were made against him during 1958 and 1983, before all allegations against him were eventually dropped – is planning to sue both the BBC and the South Yorkshire police for naming him as the suspect in the child abuse case, and for publicly broadcasting a raid on his Berkshire mansion in 2014.
And while he was touched when Rod recently vowed to pay half his legal costs in the suit, he has told his pal he is “loaded” and doesn’t need the money.
Cliff, 76, told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: “I was thrilled. It was a heart-driven speech and I loved it when he said he’d help out with the legal fees.
“Later I emailed him back, ‘Don’t worry, I’m loaded. I won’t keep you to it.’ ”
The ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy’ hitmaker publicly backed Cliff earlier this month, saying he is standing with the star “one million percent”.
Speaking on stage at the Pinktober Gala presented by Hard Rock Heals at the Dorchester Hotel in London, the 71-year-old rocker said: “Cliff, you were persecuted mate and we all know it. We are one million percent behind you. If you sue those b*****ds I’ll give you half.”
Cliff – who was never arrested or charged with any offence – previously admitted he felt he had been “hung out like ‘live bait'”.
Speaking in a statement about the claims made against him, the ‘Summer Holiday’ actor said: “[I was] named before I was even interviewed, and for me that was like being hung out like ‘live bait’.”
And the vocalist has admitted his life has been “turned upside down” since the unfortunate events.
Speaking previously, he said: “My life was effectively turned upside down and my reputation worldwide, was unnecessarily damaged. I would not want the same to happen to others whether in the public eye or not.
“Whilst the police of course need to properly investigate allegations made to them, it is clear to me that questions need to be answered by both the police and the BBC about their initial handling of my matter, which has rightly been condemned from so many quarters, including the Home Affairs Select Committee, the broader press, and, even the police themselves.”
