Brad Pitt makes surprise Golden Globes appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — Brad Pitt made a surprise appearance at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (09.01.17).
The ‘Allied’ actor has stayed largely out of the public eye since splitting from wife Angelina Jolie last September and was greeted with huge cheers when he stepped out towards the end of the telecast to present an introduction package for Best Motion Picture – Drama nominee – and eventual winner – ‘Moonlight’, which was produced by his own company Plan B.
The 53-year-old actor – who looked noticeably thin – said of the Barry Jenkins-directed film: “It’s born of the courage of a group of actors willing to strip to their souls and express their humanism inside mistake and misstep and misdeed.
“It is Barry Jenkins profound belief that we all stand at the threshold of change and forgiveness where we only grant acceptance and love to ourselves.”
Following the end of his marriage to Angelina – with whom he raises six children – Brad has made only a handful of public appearances.
He attended a private screening of ‘Moonlight’ in November, and the following day walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Allied’ with his co-star Marion Cotillard.
At the premiere, Brad – who wasn’t wearing his wedding ring – spent a lot of time signing autographs for fans, and was grateful for their “kindness” as he spoke with them.
He said at the time: “It’s really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here.
“It’s really nice to have all the support.”

Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds remembered at Golden Globes

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds were honoured with a moving tribute at the Golden Globe awards.
The ‘Star Wars’ actress and her ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ star mother died within a day of one another last month, and producers at the ceremony on Sunday (08.01.17) honoured their lives and careers with a touching video display featuring a montage of clips from their films alongside family photos.
Introducing the tribute, host Jimmy Fallon said: “A few weeks ago, we lost a mother and a daughter within a couple of days. It was a terrible loss that we all felt.”
Shortly after the tribute aired, Debbie’s son, Carrie’s brother Todd Fisher wrote on Twitter: “Thank you @goldenglobes for taking a moment and honouring my girls.(sic)”
Veteran actress Meryl Streep – who attended the pair’s joint funeral last week – referenced Carrie at the end of her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille award, revealing a quote her pal had once said to her.
She said: “Take your broken heart, make it into art. Thank you my friend.”
And ‘The Night Manager’ actor Tom Hiddleston – who won Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television – praised Carrie as a “fighter” and urged people to follow her lead and “live as fully” as they can.
He said backstage: “Carrie Fisher was such a fighter. I spent one evening with her in Washington last summer at the White House Correspondents’ dinner as a guest of the Guardian newspaper.
“She had this indomitable spirit that was bigger than the occasion. She was such a force for life.
“I think if we can take anything, a lesson from her, it’s to live as fully as we can, to embrace our weaknesses and that very act makes them become strengths.
“She was so funny… she was looking after her dog Gary and I (was) looking after his rubber duck which was a rubber duck of Princess Leia.”
Carrie died aged 60 on December 27, a few days after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles, while her 84-year-old mother passed away after a stroke on December 28.

George Michael's secret trip to Vienna hospital months before death

OHMYGOSSIP — George Michael reportedly embarked on a secret trip to a Vienna hospital weeks before he died.
The late singer was found dead at his home on Christmas Day (25.12.16) aged 53, and now it has been claimed he, his boyfriend Fadi Fawaz and his father Kyriacos Panayiotou visited the same medical centre in the capital of Austria where he was treated for pneumonia in 2011.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the Wham! star had a consultation with the two doctors who saved his life at AKH General Hospital where he collapsed five years ago.
It’s also reported that during their appointment, the health of George’s partner’s father was brought up as well as his own predicament.
The new information comes after Fadi insisted that police have not accused him of any wrongdoing in the star’s death.
Police reportedly believe the singer may have died from a drugs overdose and they quizzed Fadi twice, as he was the person who discovered the star’s body.
Fadi, 40, explained: “The police have been amazing. They have been supportive. They have done what normally happens when someone dies. They have not been accusing me, never; they have been very supportive.
“We were very much in love, very much together. Why would I be there [at George’s home in Goring-on-Thames] if we weren’t together? I was there the last day of his life. I was there.”
George star’s sudden death is still being treated as “non-suspicious” but a major crime unit from Thames Valley Police has been brought in to piece together the days leading up to his death.
It was initially thought George had died from heart failure but it’s now believed the singer passed away from an overdose of illegal or prescription drugs.
George had a well-documented battle with drug abuse throughout his career and his cousin recently revealed that he was treated for crack cocaine addiction in 2015.
A post-mortem was carried out last week on George’s body but it failed to identify the cause of death and now toxicology tests are underway to determine what ended his life.
One retired senior police officer explained: “Given his history, there must be a possibility that drugs, illegal or otherwise, could have been involved in his death. Because of his high profile and wealth it makes absolute sense for the Major Crime Unit to investigate the full circumstances while they wait for the toxicology results to come back. It does not mean that he did die from drugs but until it is proved otherwise they cannot rule it out and must investigate properly.”
The exact details of George’s funeral are yet to be announced but it’s believed he will have two ceremonies – one for friends and family and one for fans – later this month.

Ed Sheeran handed speeding ticket

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has been given a speeding ticket.
The 25-year-old singer was handed a fine and points on his license after he was caught doing 70 miles per hour (mph) in a 60 mph zone in Suffolk, England, and has now said that whilst he assumed his father John would “go mental” when he found out, his actual reaction was far less scary.
According to The Sun newspaper, the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker said: “My dad was the one that found out about it and I thought he’d go mental, but he was super chill.
“He knows the road and he knows that it gets a lot of people making the same mistake.
“It was a local road and they changed it from 70 to 60 the week before and I didn’t know.”
The news of the ticket comes just days after the ‘Sing’ musician was called out by Suffolk police on Twitter for singing about driving at “90” in one of his new songs.
‘Castle on the Hill’ – which was released on Friday (06.01.07) alongside ‘Shape of You’ from his upcoming third studio album ‘÷’ – features the line “driving at 90 down those country lanes.”
Taking to Twitter, Sergeant Chris Harris tweeted: “#DriveToArrive @edsheeran Know you want to get home but please slow down on #SuffolkRoads #WelcomeBackEd #DrivingAt90 #CastleOnTheHill (sic)”
But the ‘I See Fire’ singer won’t get into trouble using his phone whilst driving, as he recently revealed he no longer owns one.
He said: “I literally don’t have a phone. I just do emails on an iPad. I have quite an addictive personality and I was just kind of glued to it the whole time. I wasn’t having conversations with anyone.
“So my New Year’s resolution was to get off social media and I got rid of my phone. And then I came back and did the tweets on the iPad and then left it and I haven’t really been checking it and it has been really nice.”

Gary Oldman and Simon Le Bon lead David Bowie birthday tribute

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Oldman and Simon Le Bon led a musical tribute to David Bowie in his hometown of Brixton on Sunday (08.01.17).
The 58-year-old ‘Dark Knight’ star – who curated the event – and the Duran Duran frontman put on a spectacular performance in front of thousands of fans of the late star on what would have been his 70th birthday.
Crowds gathered outside the O2 Academy music venue in south London and watched Simon, 58, perform Bowie’s 1983 hit ‘Let’s Dance’.
Before the evening’s proceedings, Bowie’s widow Iman paid a touching tribute to the ‘Starman’ hitmaker – who died of cancer almost a year ago – by sharing a sketch on Instagram featuring the late singer as a child, in black and white except for his famous Aladdin Sane make-up and distinctive mismatched eyes.
She captioned the post: “Jan 8th #ForeverLove#BowieForever (sic)
And just two days ago, Iman also shared a black and white photo of herself and her late spouse embracing on a beach.
She wrote alongside the picture: “#fbf #imanarchive#BowieForever (sic)”
On Saturday (07.01.16), the Somalian beauty – who has 16-year-old Lexi with her late husband – suggested her music collection had also been making her think about the ‘Jean Genie’ hitmaker.
She wrote on the site: “All it takes is 1 song to bring 1,000 memories (sic)”
Meanwhile, David’s long-term producer Tony Visconti has also paid tribute to his late pal.
He shared a picture of his “old friend” on Twitter and wrote: “Happy Birthday dear old friend. Forever. (Hansa Studios, Berlin, 1980)(sic)”
To mark the iconic singer’s birthday, a new EP and music video, ‘No Plan’, has been released.
The four-track EP features ‘Lazarus’, from his final album ‘Blackstar’, and three songs, ‘No Plan’, ‘Killing A Little Time’ and ‘When I Met You’, which all feature in the musical ‘Lazarus’.
The music video has been directed by Tom Hingston and references ‘The Man Who Fell to Earth’ with a row of TV screens which eventually show a final tribute to the late star.
The tracks – which were previously available on the musical’s official soundtrack – mark David’s last-ever studio recordings.

David and Victoria Beckham buy £5M country mansion

OHMYGOSSIP — David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly moving to a £5 million country house.
The 41-year-old retired soccer star and his 42-year-old fashion designer wife – who share four children together, Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and five-year-old Harper – have reportedly decided to move out of their home in London’s Holland Park in exchange for the lavish property in the Cotswolds in south England, near the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.
Boasting a whopping nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, the Beckhams’ new pad comes with a triple garage, two large courtyards, and an apple orchard as part of the surrounding two acres of land.
The property – which has its own croquet lawn – is made up of three barns, each joined together by connecting buildings.
According to a source, the converted barn was previously “rundown”, but recently underwent a £2 million restoration project to bring it up to the high standards of potential buyers.
The source told The Sun newspaper: “It was a rundown building but it’s been done up. There’s a rumour Becks is taking it.
“The Beckhams are the talk of Soho Farmhouse.”
Soho Farmhouse is a five-star hotel and club which has hosted the likes of Prince Harry and his girlfriend Meghan Markle, whilst stars such as Rita Ora have performed within its walls.
For the Beckham family, the move comes three years after they moved out of their £24 million luxury home in California in 2014, after David retired from his sporting profession.
And whilst the flashy new home does come with a hefty price tag, it won’t be a problem for the famous family as it was previously revealed that David raked in an impressive £71,000 a day last year.
A source said at the time: “There is no stopping Brand Beckham. Even though he has long retired from football David’s empire keeps on growing. He is a savvy businessman and surrounds himself with like-minded people. The latest figures are staggering but it’s no real surprise.”

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth enjoy family dinner

OHMYGOSSIP — Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth enjoyed dinner with their parents on Saturday (07.01.17).
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer and her mother Tish were joined by her actor fiance and his mom and dad, Leonie and Craig, at upmarket eatery Nobu in Malibu, and according to TMZ, the meeting went well.
Though the pictures of the families enjoying their evening together will only add fuel to speculation the couple are growing increasingly close to their wedding day, it was recently reported the 24-year-old singer – who reunited with the ‘Hunger Games’ star last year, over two years after they had ended their engagement – is in no rush to tie the knot as she is determined not to rush things as she wants their marriage to last.
A source previously said: “She is happy with how the relationship with Liam is going. She’s adamant that she doesn’t want to get divorced, so she wants to make sure when she eventually gets married it actually means forever.”
And the ‘We Can’t Stop’ musician – who also works as an actress and met 26-year-old Liam on the set of the 2010 movie ‘The Last Song’ – is also reportedly interested in furthering her acting career in 2017, and would “love to” work with Liam again, but doesn’t necessarily want their characters to have an on-screen romance.
The source added: “She wants to do some more movies in 2017 and would love to work with Liam. It could be a romantic thing, a comedy or something that they play as characters who hate each other.”

Jake Roche has new love

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Roche has a new girlfriend.
The Rixton rocker split from fiancee Jesy Nelson in November, and after she was recently said to be dating Bradley Churchill, it seems he has also moved on and is romancing aspiring singer Vicki Gordon.
Jake met Vicki – who appeared on UK TV talent show ‘The Voice’ last year as one half of Vicki and Scott – at a pantomime his father Shane Richie was appearing in over the festive season.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Vicki had a friend in the panto in Southampton and she ended up meeting Jake at drinks after the show.
“They hit it off straight away and bonded over their recent break-ups, as she had split from her boyfriend days earlier.
“Jake was being a real gentleman, telling her she was a gorgeous girl and giving her loads of confidence.
“She met Shane too, who was joking she needed to look after his son.
“At the end of the night they kissed, exchanged numbers and he even offered to drive her back home to London.”
Though it is only “early days” for the romance, Jake, 24, is hopeful it marks the beginning of a fresh start to 2017 for him.
The source added: “It’s early days but it’s the first girl Jake has been interested in since the break up, and with Jesy dating again, he wanted to start the New Year by moving on.”
Following weeks of speculation about their relationship, Jake’s mother Coleen Nolan was the one who confirmed he and Jesy had split, but stressed things were amicable between her son and the Little Mix singer.
She previously said: “It’s kind of amicable and they’re dealing with it really well and they’re both good friends. It’s a lot to handle when you are young.”

Cynthia Nixon: Families are the same

OHMYGOSSIP — Cynthia Nixon insists all families are alike.
The 50-year-old actress – who has kids Sam, 20, and Charles, 14, with former partner Danny Mozes and son Max, five, with wife Christine Marinoni – thinks prejudice towards same-sex parents disappears when their children all mix together in settings such as school.
She told the Sunday Telegraph newspaper: “A parent is a parent, a child is a child, a family is a family.
“I feel like a lot of prejudice we have against people is against people we barely know or have never even met. And certainly when different kinds of people are able to be around each other, particularly when their children are in a class together, a lot of that fear and mistrust just evaporates.”
The ‘Killing Reagan’ actress previously revealed she leads a low-key life and happily takes public transport with her family.
She said: “I still take the subway and I do get recognised. But people don’t care! I love to sit there on the train and watch people.”
And Cynthia loves living in New York and doesn’t even like to leave the city to go on vacation.
She said: “I’ve never lived anywhere but New York City.
“I’m not even one of those people who needs to get out of the city for a break.
“There’s just something about getting that many people together in such a small space. There’s an energy and creativity in the air.”
Though she can tell ageing is beginning to have an impact on her body, the actress is enjoying getting older.
She previously said: “Even though I’m a little achy and creaky now, I like getting older.
“I’m not saying I’m not insecure about all kinds of things, but I do feel less emotionally insecure and worried.
“I feel like I have a lot to laugh at because of all my life experiences.”

Mariah Carey on NYE humiliation

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey was left “humiliated” after her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance.
The 46-year-old singer was performing in Times Square, New York, last Saturday (31.12.16) as part of ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest’ when she was plagued with technical difficulties that caused her to storm off stage and she has accused the production team of deliberately sabotaging her set, which saw her miming to a pre-recorded set.
In an audio recording she released on Twitter, she said: “I haven’t really addressed the situation that happened on New Year’s Eve, and in time I will. But for now, I want everyone to know that I came to New Year’s Eve in New York in great spirits and was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world.
“It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalise on circumstances beyond our control.
“It’s not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to hear themselves properly in the middle of Times Square with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machines, and thousands of people celebrating, especially when their ear monitors are not working properly.
“Listen guys, they foiled me, thus it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the New Year with me. Eventually, I will explain this in greater detail than I can give here.”
The ‘Hero’ singer – who has five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-husband Nick Cannon – ended her brief message by thanking her fans and revealed she is planning to take a break from social media.
She said: “I’m going to take a break from media moments, social media moments. Although I’m going to fulfill my professional obligations.
“This is an important time for me to finally take a moment for myself and to be with my loved ones and prepare for my upcoming tour in March.
“I just want to thank everyone for their support, thank you to all my industry friends and thank you to my Lambs, you’re always there for me. I can’t imagine life without you and you’ll always be a part of me. I can’t wait to sing for you again.”

Blac Chyna has first night out

OHMYGOSSIP — Blac Chyna has enjoyed her first night out since giving birth to daughter Dream.
The ‘Rob & Chyna’ star was “ready” to hang out at Las Vegas nightspot 1OAK at the weekend, almost two months after welcoming the little girl into the world, and wasn’t feeling too upset about leaving the baby at home in Los Angeles with her fiance Rob Kardashian.
Chyna – who also has four-year-old son King Cairo with ex-boyfriend Tyga – told People magazine: “I’ve been carrying a baby for 10 months, so I’m ready to hang out.
“It’s not really scary to be away from Dream, because I have tons of help and I’m not that far. If I was in Paris of New York I would feel super uncomfortable right now.”
But the 28-year-old star didn’t have to miss her family too much either though, because, much to her amusement, waitresses brought over oversized faces of herself, Rob and Dream to her VIP table.
Chyna and Rob – who has battled with his weight over the years – are on a “health tip” at the moment, trying to be “better people” and focusing on strengthening their relationships following a string of recent problems.
She said: ‘”I’m just really breastfeeding because you have to wait six weeks until you work out. And I just started hiking with Rob so we’re back on our health tip, and I’m drinking a ton of water.”
And asked what fans can expect from the second season of their reality show, she added: “Building our brand, building our relationship and just becoming better people.
“We’re eating healthy and just focusing on what’s important.”

Though he didn’t confirm the details of the opening, Jimmy did tease to Us Weekly magazine: “The opening is fun, we’ve been working on it, filming different stuff here and there for it for about three months.
“It’s spoofing one of the nominated movies, and we have a lot of fun cameos, we have a lot of good favourites. I don’t want to name names but Justin Timberlake …
“I won’t say anything, this is not to go on record but Ryan Reynolds … and don’t even ever talk about Tina Fey. No one is in this thing.

He said: “The whole night won’t focus on that, but it will be a week before the inauguration, so it will be on everyone’s mind.
“It’s the first and maybe the last party that we’ll have in 2017.”

Zoe Saldana found fearless love

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Saldana had never “loved without fear” until she met her husband.
The ‘Live by Night’ actress – who was previously in an 11-year relationship with entrepreneur Keith Britton and dated Bradley Cooper for over a year – always feared being rejected so couldn’t fully commit to her romances, but things changed when she met Marco Perego, who she married in June 2013 after just a few months of dating.
She said: “With Marco, it was the first time I had loved without fear. There had always been a sense of keeping my guard up and not wanting to be rejected or being the one to be left [in previous relationships], so I ended up only loving halfway. But one day I woke up and thought, ‘I don’t want to love this way – I feel so incomplete’, and then the right person came along while I was making that decision.”
And the 38-year-old beauty – who has two-year-old twins Cy and Bowie with Marco – thinks some of her past relationships didn’t work out because she fell in love with “potential”, rather than “reality”.
She said: “I didn’t date a lot before – I was always with people for long periods of time. But even when I was unhappy I didn’t discuss it, maybe because I’m a wimp!
“But as a girl you hear the fairytales and learn to fall in love with potential as opposed to reality. I think, though, that had I accepted what the man was really like, I wouldn’t have dated half the people I did.”
Zoe admits she can be “withdrawn and pragmatic” in her relationships, but artist Marco has helped her learn to relax and have more fun.
She told You magazine: “I can be withdrawn, pragmatic, and it’ll be my husband who says, ‘Relax, please. How was your day? How was my day? I love you. You love me. Fantastic!’
“I was so rigid before I met him and he compelled me to laugh. He would tell me, ‘Look, I’m not going to yell at you. I’m not going to cheat on you, hit you or take your money. Just relax.’
“Now I know how great it is to date a warm, cuddly person.”
